The Only Gift (James x FemReader) *Blurb*

Summary:  He knows it cheesy, that almost everyone says and does the same thing for Christmas.  But he can’t help it…you’re the only thing he wants this year, for the rest of his life.

Warnings: 18+ (mdni), because there’s sooo much of the fluff with a bit of the smut.  Oral (reader receiving), mushiness, and… James’ skilled tongue.

- Spread out like a snow angel over his sheets.   “Su-sure…mmh.”  Thighs tremble as his inked hands knead, squeeze.  Pillowy flesh spilling out from between the gaps of his calloused fingers.  “You sure th-this is the only…mew.”  Cunny quivering as his tongue skillfully, slowly works its magic.  Drawing out yet another small orgasm from your exhausted body.   “Only gift you wa-wanted, Jamie?”

- Licking a long stripe up your soaked slit, he peeks over the swell of your pert mound.  Raven locks tousled and sticking in every possible direction.  Those blue eyes blown wide with that intense, fiery spark you adore so much dancing in their depths.

- “Mmmh, yeah,” he drawls in that deep, silken voice.  Nose nudging, teasing your sensitive bud.  Teeth grazing and nipping, tugging gently at your velvety lips.  Causing a soft, tired mewl to bubble up from your throat.  Gummy walls to flutter, clench weakly in response.

- Prodding and circling, dipping briefly into your warmth.  Collecting more of your wetness; grunting, savoring the taste that was uniquely yours .  “Only gift I ever wanted…”  All the while slick covered digits glisten in the flickering candlelight.  Feeling and reaching, seeking out.  “Ever needed…”

- Finding, tangling with your delicate ones.  Messy arousal and release coating, sticking to your skin.  Gluing your palms together in an oddly romantic way.  Thumb spinning, brushing across the flattened nut.  “Was someone so sweet…” 

- Hot breath fans, ghosts over your swollen folds.  Goosebumps blossom, butterflies flitter in your stomach.  As his lips press a loving, tender kiss to them.  “Perfect, lil thing…” 

- With a low groan, James props himself up.  Hovers inches above.  Larger form engulfing, swallowing up yours.  Smile pulling at the corners of his mouth.  Gaze locked on that tiny, sliver of reshaped steel shining wrapped snuggly around your heart finger.  “Just like you.”

- Leaning down, he buries his face into the side of your neck.  Deeply breathing in your scent, nuzzling at the hickey riddled flesh.  “Merry Christmas, darlin’…”  Letting his full weight rest on, heat encompass and seep through your bones.  Heart beating in perfect harmony with yours.  “Made me the luckiest man by sayin’ ‘yes’…”

Important distinction from the Newsies novel: when Snyder spots Jack and starts chasing him, Jack, David, and Les loose Snyder on the roof. But Jack keeps running anyways and purposefully leads the Jacobs brothers to Medda's theatre even though Snyder is no longer on their tail. (This is also true of the film, but it's not quite as obvious because of the quick transition.)

So: Jack gets chased by Snyder -> Jack runs to Medda's.

Jack views the theatre, or Medda herself, as his safeplace.

Jack Kelly - The Abominable Snowman

Jack is trying to get past the last party he threw. He debated whether or not to even throw this party, because of how the last has ended. But he does, to try to prove he’s fine. He dresses up as the Abominable Snowman, wearing all white, a furry white coat with matching boots and white antlers with icicles hanging from them. He uses makeup to make his skin look frost bitten. He decorated his apartment as a sort of snowy cave and all the cocktails are frosty and blue and full of a lot of alcohol. He ends up actually having fun and David and him end up pulling an all nighter in his bed, doing everything but sleeping.

David Jacobs - A Christmas Angel

David fears Jack is angry with him and asks Race for help in a costume because he wants to have a serious talk with Jack tonight about having a long term, serious relationship. Race makes him into a Christmas Angel, letting David wear a lot of his own jewelry, all white, with large wings and feathers glued to him. David pulls Jack aside at the party to talk to him, starting to apologize and they just end up making out in the kitchen for most of the night. David invites Jack to Hanukkah with his family. Sarah approves.

Racetrack Higgins - A Slutty Christmas Present

Race is the first person to show up at his brother’s apartment in almost no clothing, much to Jack’s horror. Race is dressed as a Christmas gift for Spot, using mostly Christmas ribbon to conceal himself. He’s only wearing a tight pair of boxers. He’s crafted a crown of gift wrapping bows and uses wrapping paper and ribbon to wrap around his nipples and thighs, as well as his hips and over his boxers to make it look like he’s truly wearing nothing. Jack and him get into a heated argument over Race’s costume choice and Jack tries to force him to wear one of his own old costumes. Race refuses and Spot gives Race his jacket to try to cover him up. Jack is not happy about it.

Year Previous: Cousin Eddie

Spot Conlon - John McClane

True to the last few years, Spot is good old John. It is the only costume he ever wears to this party and he’s not about to change that now. He ends up asking Jack if he can ask Race to marry him.

Crutchie Morris - Tally the Elf

Crutchie is the newest Christmas sensation, Tally. He is a bit anxious to be around everyone because of the tension going on, but is ultimately able to have a good time and is everyone’s favorite bartender this year.

Katherine Plumber - Harry

Katherine goes with Sarah as the Wet Bandits. She is Harry. She and Jack talk and make up and Katherine tells Jack that he needs to accept that he loves David and get over his fear of commitment fast.

Sarah Jacobs - Marv

Sarah is Marv and she is here to have a good time. She get wildly drunk and then tells Katherine to put a baby in her.

And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the newsie wrapped in newspapers, lying on a printing press. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising Jesdus, and saying, 'Glory to Jeck in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward newsies.'

A Merry Scottish Christmas (2023)

Ok, this is another Hallmark movie that is available on Netflix for the rest of the month. Hallmark and Netflix must have some kind of deal so that Netflix doesn't have to make a ton of their own Christmas movies anymore. Perhaps Vanessa Hudgens is unavailable. This is also kind of a weird movie.

Dr. Lindsay Morgan (Lacey Chabert) and her brother Brad Morgan (Scott Wolf) and his wife Sarah (Kellie Blaise) meet at an airport on their way to Christmas with their mother Josephine (Fiona Bell) at Glencrave castle in Scotland. This is awkward for everyone because Lindsay and Brad are estranged and doing nothing to be pleasant to each other, while Sarah is acting like there's nothing weird going on. Sarah's entire personality in this movie is being nice and acting like nothing weird is going on. Sarah needs anxiety meds. Anyway, shortly after arriving at the castle, they find out that duke who ran the 30,000 acre estate and supported the town near the castle recently passed away.

Not shocking to the audience but shocking to Lindsay and Brad, the recently deceased duke is also their estranged uncle. Their mother is now duchess and either one or both of them must take over or she will sell the estate and the town nearby will probably collapse. However, Lindsay runs a general practice clinic in California and Brad is a tax attorney, so they're not really sure they want such a drastic change. So then we get a bunch of different activities that teach them about their family history and traditions in the area. It helps that the groundskeeper Mac Bell (James Robinson) is attractive, single, and was close enough to the late duke to help them run the estate.

Going any further would spoil the ending, but also, we know how it ends. But being predictable doesn't bother me unless it's tedious; this was not. It offered a lot of fun information about Scottish traditions. However, it was weird to have the sibling relationship be at the center of the movie and to squeeze in a love interest. Like, they're not married at the end, and she didn't stay for him, but it felt weird. I didn't hate the Christmas music on bagpipes though. Overall, 2 stars.
