With big thanks to @turnipkeeper for all the support. We came up with the mermaid Jon idea a while ago, joking that he must be who saves Sherlock when he faints in the water. Maybe a version of Jon is real, after all? :D

1882, London. Doctor John Watson realizes he's getting nowhere and a change is needed, which is where the small village of Anvon, Cornwall comes in. Along with it, a position as local doctor. There is a peace in Anvon unlike anything he's known for a while now, and along with striking up a friendship with a young noble with demons of his own, he feels that this small village is just the life he needs. But there are strange things churning in the waters of this place, things that glow and lurk in the depths. Things to do with a man who swims in rock pools and who knows him by one look from deep, grey eyes. Things waking up in the ocean beyond.

John has been trying to get over Sherlock for years, up to and including toying with the idea of moving out of Philadelphia entirely. Still, something always manages to pull him back, like Sherlock's gossipy old acquaintance, Langdale Pike, an art enthusiast who lives more for the drama than anything else. When Langdale pushes John in the direction of Sherlock's old boyfriend, jealousy surfaces and lures John into a case only Sherlock Holmes could solve.

Meanwhile, Sherlock has been searching for a cure for his affliction only to end up high and dry each time. Is he still a great detective, capable of saving his friend from the danger headed his way, or will they both wind up in over their heads?

A Study in Saltwater

My first foray into multi-chapter Holmes fic! The "Holmes as a merman" idea seized my brain earlier this year and wouldn't let go until I finished writing it over the course of two months. It was so much fun incorporating the fantasy elements with a queerplatonic Holmes and Watson pairing!

Watson is a Time Lord

A work in progress! It started as a joke about there being two actors playing Watson in the Granada Sherlock Holmes series and SPIRALLED. It's a collaboration. It's ridiculous. It's angsty. It's heartfelt. It's everything I love about fanfiction. The way @jabbage, @jeremys-come-to-bed-eyes, and I can just pop up with an idea one day and all bounce off each other until one of us is like YES I MUST WRITE THIS NOW. We're having the BEST time.

Those Who Listen

I am very proud of my entire Nonverbal Sherlock Holmes series of fics, but this one stands out to me. As a hearing person with a deaf partner, I have spoken BSL and SSE for over a decade (still learning!) and I wanted to explore the barriers of communication through the lens of this fic. It came out so well! Plus it has fluffy QPP Holmes and Watson. What's not to like?

The Practicalities of Vampirism in the 21st Century

Moving away from Sherlock Holmes for a moment, I'm very proud of this Magnus Archives fic in which Jon is a vampire trying to navigate modern London. Martin stumbles upon him feeding one day, and in sharing the secret they both start to realise what they're really feeling for each other.

(PS it has a sequel but I haven't touched it for months. Shush.)
