I haven't cosplayed Rin in a long while

hewwo hewwo it's feli back at it again with another banger, this time in the form of self-proclaimed princess mermaid galactic superstar miss bonnie chu, (chu boyoung if ya nasty) estella's lead vocal, lead dancer and visual. she's hyperfeminine without an ounce of irony and really lives and breathes the art of performance and desirability. i'm reallyyyy looking forward to writing her because her inner thoughts are such a contrast to her exterior, while both are so emphatically her?? she's a complex study and i think that's always fun to play around with, especially interpersonally. she's got a biography on her about page here and some random bits on her kprofile page here. i'll do the same thing i did with taeyeon and drop some things that make me think of Bonnie in essence: japanese deco cases with the little dollops of whipped cream swamped in cute gems and trinkets, [*runs over someone cutely*], veteran cosplay streamer flirting for tips with her legs out....platonically<3, [iwant attention!!!!....if you're not busy.....and you want to....], bows on everything, sharp mind, soft exterior, "cat and mouse or just cat against cat - no one ever wants to be the mouse", cold strawberries dipped in sugar on a hot summer day, fluffy cuffs and collars, venus fly traps, bittersweet love anthems, cat & mouse by blackswan, [no YOU live in a society, i live in a meticulously crafted daydream universe that i've been using as a coping mechanism since childhood], music as a love language, elle woods, beauty and performance as a shield because to be known is to be vulnerable, [the feminine urge to play dumb (strategically)], prophetic dreams let me know if d!scord is easier for plotting and we can switch over if we haven't already!!!!!

Empires and Hermits are not human

This is a cobbling together of various hermits and empires not being human headcannons.

H!Bdubs- Definitely a raven.

H!Cub- part vex

H!Doc- Creeper

Etho- no one really knows, he's a shapeshifter with a preference for anime.

H!False- similar to E!Pixl, she was orignally carved out of stone, making her far stronger than a regular human

E!Fwhip- he is a fae, part fennec fox, with the other half being elk.

E!Gem- she is his fae sibling, tho she inherited more elk than he did.

H!Gem- fully deer fae.

H!Grian- Definitely a bird, tho some say he is looking more dragon by the day.

H!Hypno- he exists on a different plane entirely. He is similar to Dr Who, not having a specific species he is tied to.

H!Impulse- Dragonborn, taller and stronger than nearly anyone but Lizzie

H!Iskall- he was hewn from iskallium, or slime around the same time as Jevin.

H!Jevin- he is a slime boi

E!Joey Graceffa- half blood tiger prince

E! Smallish beans- he is not short. He is a Replicator, of ancient origin that were first used to populate the world, now he remains, and creates people to inhabit his kingdom so he can have a purpose again

H!Joe Hills- he is a collection of lost souls, and forgotten memories. He is not a person, but a cloud of people trapped in one body that Cleo is tasked with keeping an eye on.

E!Katherine- Butterfly warrior.

H!Keralis- Keralis is actually quite normal- just don't look into his eyes, or the siren that is within will steal your soul

E!Lizzie- she is a sea creature, not a true mermaid, but royal blood flows through her veins.

E!Mythical Sausage- he claims to be a regular guy, but he is part goblin, and as such, has a pension for mischief

H!Mumbo Jumbo. He is part void walker, a void walker in training you might say.

H!Pearlescentmoon- she is a Watcher, but was born as a voidwalker.

E!Pearlescentmoon- she is actually mostly plants, as the farm needed a caretaker, and so they made her.

E!Pixlriffs- he was hewn from a solid chunk of copper, possessed by the soul of the Hades, to guide lost souls safely home.

H!Rendog- he was part dog, but he has been swapped out so many times for metal parts, he's more machine now than dog.

H!Stressmonster- she is not a butterfly as you might expect, but is a bumblebee.

E! Jimmy- he is mostly cod, as the egg drifted to the swamps as opposed to the open ocean.

Shrub- she is small mushroom, but is a mighty warrior.

Scott- he is an Aeor, descendent of angels.

Scar- he is also part Vex

Tango- he comes from the Nether, but his actual species is very much unkown.

TinfoilChef- he was similarly hewn from a chunk of andesite, and has since made it his mission to hew bodies for other souls to inhabit.

VintageBeef- he is aquatic adgacent alien.

Wels- a suit of armor that is inhabited by the souls of an old country singer as well as King Arthur.

XB- he is a time-traveling entity, that has traveled near and far with his coat of stars.

Xisuma- he is a normal human, but like actually. He just likes cosplay

Zedaph- he is at least part sheep.

Cleo- while this version of her is a Zombie, she exists on many different realities with different versions of her popping up in various universes.

Disney: adjectives galore spring to mind when we hear this famous name: sweet, adventurous, wholesome, nostalgic, magical. But what some Disney fans may not know is that many Disney shorts and feature-length films were inspired by fairytales, plays, religious texts, and other literary sources. It seems that Walt Disney did a lot of reading in his day and knew that these tales would make for some of the most adored, classic movies for audiences old and young.

And he wasn't wrong. These text-turned-flicks have motivated artists for decades to create not just movies, but fan art, fashion, and more.

10 The Princess And The Frog

Disney's The Princess and the Frog (2009) follows Tiana (Anika Noni Rose), a worked-to-the-bone waitress and aspiring restaurant owner in 1950's Louisiana. She kisses a price-turned-frog, Naveen (Bruno Campos), and becomes one herself. They both journey across time, swamps, and streets in a race to turn themselves back to humans -- or remain amphibians forever.

In contrast, "The Frog-Prince" or "Iron Henry," from which Disney drew inspiration, is a german fairy tale from 1812. The prince-turned-frog under a witch's curse finds the princess when she throws a golden ball into the lake he occupies, exchanging the ball for her friendship, who then reverts back to a handsome prince. Iron Henry is the Prince's loyal servant, who, upon hearing of his Prince's transformation, encased his heart in iron bands so it wouldn't break and fall apart from sadness. When he learns of the Prince's change back to royalty, it breaks -- but from happiness.

9 The Little Mermaid

The movie that inspired spin-offs, sequels, cosplay, and more: Disney's The Little Mermaid (1989) follows the story of Ariel (Jodi Benson) as she embarks on a quest to save her soul, literally, after making a deal with the sea witch, Ursula (Pat Carroll), to give her her perfect singing voice in exchange for becoming human. Of course, the spell can only be broken by true love's kiss, and in the end, it is, with viewers seeing a happy sea wedding between Ariel and Prince Eric (Christopher Daniel Barnes).

This flick takes its cues from both a play and a fairy tale. Unsatisfied with life, despite being incredibly successful, Faust makes a deal with the devil to give him his soul in exchange for all the knowledge and pleasures of the world. Ariel does the same but compromises her voice for love. Additionally, Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tale of the same name is essentially the same story, but with some darker elements, including murder, heartbreak and betrayal.

8 The Lion King

Arguably the most famous, beloved Disney film of all time, The Lion King (1992) is a tour-de-force with a literary backdrop. Fans of Shakespeare will recognize the references to The Bard's classic tragic play, Hamlet, which is the tale of a young Denmarkian prince who avenges his father's death at the hands of his uncle.

Further, the pinnacle scene where Simba sees Mufasa in the nighttime sky in the form of clouds over the Serengeti -- his father, Mufasa -- harkens back to when Hamlet sees his own ghostly apparition of his father but also references Moses in the Christian bible as he stands before God when he appears in the burning bush. Finally, the entire journey mimics Joseph Campbell's story, The Heroes Journey (as many, many other films do), which follows the arc of the hero on his journey from beginning to end.

7 The Hunchback Of Notre Dame

The 1996 Disney film, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, also has literary roots. Based on the gothic novel from 1831 by French author Victor Hugo, the book unfolds much the same way the film does, although some plotlines have been changed to suit child audiences and parents.

For instance, in the book, Esmerelda dies and Quasimodo, decades later, is found lying beside her in the mass grave into which she was thrown in with criminals and the poor.

6 The Great Mouse Detective

Perhaps one of the most underrated Disney movies in the ether, The Great Mouse Detective (1986) is a story of a mouse detective named Basil (of Baker Street), his sidekick Watson, and the adventure they go on to rescue a young mouse girl's kidnapped father from the notorious Professor Ratigan.

This Disney gem was based on the exploits of Sherlock Holmes by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and his for-hire detective skills that focused on London's despondent and downtrodden, as well as the wealthy elite.

5 Snow White

1937's Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs is about a young, fair maiden, cast aside into the dangerous, dark, and deep forest by her wicked stepmother for being more beautiful than her. When a huntsman is ordered to kill her, he spares Snow White's life and she takes up residence in a small cottage with seven mining dwarfs.

The fairy tale of the same name from the Brothers Grimm unfurls much the same, only with more murderous plots-for-hire and red-hot iron slippers.

4 Sleeping Beauty

Disney's Sleeping Beauty from 1959 is one of the most famous peasant-turned-princess stories. Naturally, Disney took its cues from the Brothers Grimm, once again, in their fairy tale titled "Little Brier-Rose."

Absent are the three tiny fairy godmothers who look after the princess in the film version, but otherwise, much is the same, complete with a Maleficent-type villain and true love's kiss breaking the cursed spell.

3 Rapunzel

Disney's Tangled (2010) is based on the Brothers Grimm fairy tale, Rapunzel. It unravels in much the same way that the film does, but with some differences: Rapunzel, in the fairy tale, is a sort of lettuce leaf her mother craves during pregnancy, and the king steals it from the sorceress' garden in which it grows.

The prince also becomes blinded at one point, unlike in the movie, but has his sight restored and, like the film, he and Rapunzel live happily ever after.

2 Oliver And Company

Another underrated Disney flick, Oliver & Company (1988) features the story of a lost and abandoned tabby kitten named Oliver (Joey Lawrence), who joins a rough-and-tumble gang of dogs in New York City (their leader being Dodger, played by Billy Joel).

This hidden treasure is based on Charles Dickens's novel Oliver Twist or The Parish Boy's Progress, published in London in 1838. The prose follows orphan Oliver Twist, who was born in a workhouse and became an apprentice for an undertaker. Deciding to escape, he travels to London and encounters the "Artful Dodger," a member of a criminal gang led by the elderly criminal, Fagin.

1 Cinderella

Cinderella, Disney's classic rags-to-riches film from 1950, is one of their greatest since Snow White. The film, once again, drew its magic from the Brothers Grimm fairy tale of the same moniker (also known as "The Little Glass Slipper").

As with almost all of these fairy tales, there were some darker elements excluded from Disney's version that were present in the Brothers Grimm tale, like when the evil stepsisters mutilate their feet in order for the slipper to fit, as well as pigeons plucking out both of their eyes by the end of the tale.

Hello from the Swamp Mermaids!

We are two lesbian swamp mermaids in an ldr who love each other very much and want to share our love with other sapphics through a suggestion blog!

Mod Liza (hair down in the icon) is currently studying to be an opera singer in the Midwest. She is v anxious but her lovely girlfriend helps her with it. Also, she dresses herself with a swamp aesthetic (meaning most of her clothes are shades of green, blue, and gray).

Mod Abbie (hair up in the icon) is currently teaching dance on the East Coast. She has adhd and when she is happy she wiggles a lot (this happens every time she sees or texts Mod Liza). Mod Abbie is the one who dubbed Mod Liza a swamp mermaid because she has red hair like Ariel.

Both of us are hardcore Holtzbert shippers as we both realized we are gay around the time of the new Ghosbusters movie. We met through the Holtzbert fandom by chance and we recently cosplayed as Holtz an Erin (see icon).

Mermaid Swamp

RPG Horror games are really important to me. I love playing and watching others play them. And I thought the best way to show my appreciation would be through cosplay. This is part of what I hope to be a larger series where I cosplay from different RPG Horror games.

First up is Mermaid Swamp.

Rin and her three friends are on a trip and their car breaks down. They head to a nearby mansion to take shelter for the night. A kind old man takes them in, but things quickly begin to go horribly wrong and her friends are getting sick or slowly going mad. Rin sets out to uncover the mystery of what is going on, and want happened at that old, abandoned mansion nearby.

The pictures where the lantern is lit are taken by my father. The rest of the photos were taken by me. I did all of the editing on them. I hope you enjoyed the first set in this series. I can’t wait to show you more!!
