I really wish that Rumiko Takahashi expanded a little bit more on Mermaid Saga. There's just so much potential and lore that she'd created and the characters Yuta and Mana were such a treat to see. Plus the horror aspects of immortality and just how high the price for it really is is just such an interestingly dark concept. I'd love to see more of the world that is Yuta and Mana's.

Finally introducing the last and final member of the group (for now) Princess Amethyst. She rules over the kingdom of Callisto and the symbol of her kingdom is a wolf and a moon. She's very work focused and trains hard to be the best of the best. Loyalty is her strongest quality but her drive to be the best can hold her back on social aspects as her kingdom is from the deepest part of the sea making her nation very cold blooded. Amethysts powers work different from the rest of her teammates. Her powers are moonlight which she can bend and use as a magical essence. She can cause mood changes for her enemies so she can make more strategic moves during combat which she sometimes has used on herself to make her emotions come forth but to no use.

Mermaid's Scar OVA English Dub by Vhs tape

Still my favorite adaptation of Takahashi's Mermaid Saga.

I once showed the OAV for Mermaid Forest to my school's anime club, and they literally laughed at all the scenes that were aupposed to be scary. That adaptation thought going over the top with gore would equal "Horror". But Takahashi's Horror stories work like a "slice of life" setting, slowly invaded by something horrifying. Like Laughing Target or the entirety of the Mermaid Saga. Only Inuyasha is upfront about its Horror elements, because it's not a mystery (to the cast or the audience) that something nefarious is possible. Takahashi Horror can and does have pretty intense moments of gore, but that's not where her Horror draws it's fright.
