What i've also notices many parallels between Mr. Redd and Viren:
Both became pawns of powerful beings by accient (Viren, by discovering Aaravos' mirror; Redd, founding Barbarossa's sword)
Both get along their masters plans until they're realizing they going too far (Aaravos wanted to sacrifing the homunculus; Babarrossa using his kids as guenie pigs)
Both redeeming themselfs in the end (Viren sacrifed his life to protect Katolis; Redd, helping Fred to create a antidote for the pollution monsters)
Both not appearing in their final battles

My first (but not last, it’s too much fun and too fitting with S5 Ocean coming up!) Mermay offering! I’m actually a little proud of this, because I really didn’t think I could make this work, this is a HIGH difficulty drawing!
Angsty half-baked rayllum idea behind this was she failed to kill Viren and avenge her parents and was instead cursed to be a mermaid, perpetually pulled to the bottom of the magic lake she’s trapped in (she still hates water, rip). So fighting against the pull, she makes her way to the surface, and hands her sword, her unfinished quest, to a human boy, before disappearing back beneath the waves…
Loosely based on the iconic imagery of the myth of Excalibur. The Lady of the Lake is canonically into wizards, just saying…

Why I believe ocean elves are merfolk
— So far we’ve seen Moon, Sun, Star, and Sky elves in the intro (possibly Earth, but that might just be me trying to find all types)
— Sky elves have freaking wings, which therefore means ocean elves should have fins instead of feet.
— What reason would ocean elves have for not being at the breach other than that they can’t leave the water/stray too far from water
— In several stories, mermaids are born from sea foam, and fade away to it when they die. They’re born of the sea, and have a connection to it, the ocean’s magic is what keeps them alive
— From what little we’ve seen of the ocean’s primal source creatures, they’re fish, or types of sea creatures
— In the oldest stories of mermaids, they were more like sirens than the harmless girls we see in today’s media (the little mermaid, h2o, legend of the blue sea, splash, aquamarine, etc.) They were said to be bad luck if they were seen on a voyage, and had voices that enchanted sailors and lured them into the depths of the ocean, where they were either killed or the mermaid kept their soul in a jar. Ocean elves could have a type of magic similar to this, where their spells are all in the form of songs and enchantments, where they can control and manipulate those who hear their voices. It would be a very good way of defending the border out at sea, which might be why we’ve only ever heard of the breach in canon, the ocean elves are too dangerous to attempt passing through the seas.
— Opposed the the last point (and more often seen in today’s media), there are also several stories that have the merfolk as a peaceful, nonviolent race that prefers to hide away from humans in the depths and rise to the surface only to sunbathe and brush their hair as they sing on rocks. I’ve seen several books where, after a mermaid touches dry land, she grows legs until she can return to the water. They would have no reason not to be on land fighting if that were the case, unless they preferred to stay out of the violence all together and stay under the sea where it’s safe.
— With Rayla’s fear of water, what better conflict would there be other than having to get help from ocean elves, who just happen to live in the ocean?
— Mermaids are currently extremely popular in today’s media. How to draw more people to your show? Add mermaids. Having a mermaid in the story is guaranteed to attract more people who are obsessed with the current trend.
— Can you imagine the cosplays?
— Mermaids are cool.
— Half of the stuff I own is related to mermaids and sirens.
— I would cry if I saw a mermaid in The Dragon Prince.

On Viren, Evil Queens & Queer Coded Villains
In an interview with Cartoon Universe titled Season 3, Runaans Plan, and Aaravos Speech! The Dragon Prince Interview with Creators, Aaron Ehasz and Justin Richmond, talked about how an early concept for The Dragon Prince that they played with was the idea of “not evil step mother” (around the 26:35 mark).
This could relate to the creators’ desires to showcase non-traditional families and not to demonize stepparents. Harrow, for example, while keeping an unfortunate distance from Callum, is a loving stepdad. However, so far in The Dragon Prince we haven’t encountered a stepmother, good or evil. My theory is that “not an evil stepmother” relates to Viren.
In many ways, Viren epitomizes the evil queen/evil stepmother archetype. In fact, there are numerous scenes and aspects of Viren that directly parallel famous evil queens and stepmothers. Here are just some of the examples:
1. Like the Evil Queen in Snow White Viren has a magic mirror that he demands answers from. Mysterious all-knowing beings inside the mirrors answer back.
2. Viren orders his own “huntsman” (Soren) to kill a royal heir (Ezran) that has a deep connection to animals. Soren like the Huntsman can’t bring himself to kill the young royal.
3. Viren's green voice stealing spell is an obvious reference to Ursula's voice stealing spell in The Little Mermaid.
4. Like Mother Gothel in Tangled and Queen Ravenna in Snow White and the Huntsman, Viren hides his true appearance (which is “ugly” and scary) with glamour magic where he takes the life force of younger, beautiful beings and uses them to keep an attractive appearance.
5. Viren also shares visual similarities with the Evil Queen, Cinderella’s stepmother and Maleficent such as their circle jewel pendant, dramatic collar, black and purple colors, staffs, their scowls, postures, & attitudes.
6. Like Cinderella’s stepmother Viren has two children that are kind of dopes & are sometimes mean to the princes. He expects a lot from them.
7. Viren's magic is often visually like evil queens' magic, both are presented as dark & disturbing.
8. Like Viren, evil queens make magic with suspicious, “disgusting” ingredients & cast spells w/ staffs. Both seem to take from nature & threaten & exploit youthful & natural "innocence."
I would argue that Viren was the “not evil stepmother” that was one of the starting ideas behind The Dragon Prince. He’s technically not one because he’s a man. But he embodies the role in significant ways. For me, this is another layer that adds to Viren’s queer coding. (If you want to read the other parts of my Viren is Queer analysis, you can read them here (Part 1) and here (Part 2). Here’s why:
Evil queens & villains specifically in Disney films have over time been adopted by the LGBTQ+ community. Intentional or not these characters are popularly thought of as queer coded or as having queer appeal. In his book Tinker Belles and Evil Queens: The Walt Disney Company from the Inside Out, Sean Griffin writes "gay culture seems to have a special fondness for Disney villainy. [...] the number of gay men who dress in drag as Disney villains for costume parties or for Halloween testifies to the attraction that these characters have in gay culture".
Griffin posits that there are two reasons why queer audiences gravitate towards these villains. The first reason is the exaggerated, unconventional way villains perform their gender in contrast to the more traditional gender performances of the heroes. They bring attention to gender itself as performance & thus take on qualities of camp & drag. This connection to drag was made explicit in Disney's The Little Mermaid when it's villain Ursula was modeled after the famous drag queen Divine.
Female villains like evil queens & stepmothers often have strong sharp facial and body features in contrast to the heroine's soft features. They wear visible makeup as opposed to the heroines’ more "natural" beauty. They are audacious, sassy, powerful & imposing in contrast to the more demure, modest heroines. Many evil queens are motivated by the pursuit of beauty that remains out of their reach such as the Evil Queen, Ursula, & Mother Gothel. While Viren isn’t motivated by the pursuit of beauty, vanity and physical appearance are important enough to his character to warrant nods such as his glamour spells, obsession with mirrors & fancy clothes, almost as if the show is aware of the tradition Viren borrows from.
The camp & the theatricality of gender expression of male Disney villains are often shown via their archness, sassiness, foppishness, particularly fancy sense of style, & impeccable overly cultured manners, speech & mannerisms. They're often "represented as using their cultured dandyism to hide their evil design[s]". Viren borrows heavily from Jafar & Scar. Jafar & Viren both have magic staffs, snake motifs, and even have parrots in common. Like Jafar, Viren is his monarch's most trusted magical advisor who ultimately betrays him. Like Scar, Viren is a usurper. Griffin writes "Both [Scar & Jafar] are overly refined, fey and seething with frustration for feeling that their talents and abilities have been overlooked." That’s literally Viren! Scar & Jafar were notably designed by out gay character designer Andreas Deja. Griffin writes that in an interview "Deja admits to conceiving of [Jafar] as a gay man “to give him his theatrical quality, his elegance.” It is these characters’ qualities & legacies that Viren borrows from.
Griffin writes "Traditionally, Disney’s animated villains move and speak with enormous style and panache—so much so that they often “steal” the scenes from the supposed leading characters in the stories. In this way, they more overtly “overperform” their gender roles and readily become the targets of camp readings." I would argue Viren fits this description. He too can be audacious, imposing, & occasionally sassy. He's impeccably well dressed (Amaya even derisively comments on the fanciness of his clothes) & seemingly impeccably well mannered. Theatricality & performance play into Viren’s role as a manipulator and persuader. He uses his panache, speech, & manners to seduce people to his point of view or at least he tries to. This contrasts him against the earnestness of the heroes.
This takes us to the second reason why queer audiences gravitate & identify with Disney villains. According to Griffin "on a more basic level, gay culture’s appreciation of Disney villains is a humorous cheering on of those forces within the narrative that disrupt and frustrate heterosexuality’s dominance.”
Examples of this are Evil Queens trying to separate young heterosexual couples such as Ursula & Mother Gothel. Griffin uses Maleficent as an example: "Sleeping Beauty’s Maleficent actively works to spoil two generations of heterosexual coupling. […] During [the] overtly narrated introduction, strong emphasis is placed on procreation, particularly on the king and queen’s difficulties in having a child. The story proper begins with the countrywide celebration of the birth of the princess Aurora. When Maleficent arrives, she is informed quite bluntly that she is “not wanted.” Maleficent retaliates by placing a death sentence on the child to be fulfilled on her sixteenth birthday. In this way, she attempts to take away the procreative success of the king and queen and kill the princess just at the moment when she herself would be about to explore heterosexual courtship."
Similarly, Jafar actively tries to separate Aladdin & Jasmine as opposed to the benevolent campy & queer coded Genie who uses his powers to bring Aladdin & Jasmine together. Of Scar, Griffin writes: "The most obvious gay figure in the film is the villainous lion Scar, voiced by Jeremy Irons, who archly portrays a physically weak male who makes up for his lack of sheer strength with catty remarks and invidious plotting. Animated by Deja, the character fairly swishes, disdaining the concept of the heterosexual family in his attempt to usurp the throne for himself." Scar "refuses to support the heterosexual patriarchy that Simba and his father represent" & challenges its dominance by killing the patriarch Mufasa & preventing Simba from gaining his rightful place on the throne with Nala as his queen by his side. Scar is contrasted by Zazu, Timone, & Pumba (all campy & queer coded too) who support Simba's divine right to rule.
So how does Viren "disrupt and frustrate heterosexuality’s dominance" when he himself used to have a wife & has two children? Firstly, he is a divorced single father. While that in of itself does not code him as queer it does preclude him from the ideal patriarchal, heterosexual nuclear family. It also complicates Viren’s status & role within Katolis Castle in relation to King Harrow (a single father himself) & his family. In Callum’s Spellbook, Callum writes “Lord Viren and his children, Claudia and Soren, were kind of like my second family.” Thus, once Queen Sarai dies, Viren becomes the only other quasi parental figure to Callum and Ezran & becomes the closest adult to Harrow living in the castle. Viren is placed in a unique position that is much like a “stepmother”. (I suspect this subtext is one of the reasons why the theory that Viren murdered Sarai persists despite little evidence for it).
If looked through the narrative framework of the evil queen/stepmother trope, Viren and Harrow’s relationship takes on a symbolically queer quality. Viren essentially acts as Harrow’s second “wife” and second “queen”. Their families co-inhabit the castle & Viren has ready access to Harrow’s private rooms and occupies them with familiarity. In their first scene, Viren enters Harrow’s bedroom & wakes him. He is the first-person Harrow sees when he wakes up, symbolic of how a wife would be the first person a husband sees upon waking, or how Sarai used to be the first person Harrow saw.
What really drives home Viren occupying the archetypical role of evil queen/stepmother is how Viren connects with queens in The Dragon Prince itself. In flashbacks, Viren’s story connects him tragically to the queens of Duren who he tried but failed to save & to Queen Sarai who saved him at the cost of her life. He lives, they die. Viren carries out their legacy when he casts the Magma Titan Heart spell & ends the famine. Later in the narrative Viren is challenged by Queen Aanya & the Sunfire queen.
The parallels and connections between Viren and Queen Sarai are the most telling (In addition to the parallels I explore in my other analysis). The first parallel is in their respective first scenes. In her first scene, Sarai stands on a balcony alongside a newly coronated Harrow, looking out at the citizens of Katolis. The King and Queen gaze upon their shared kingdom. Similarly, by the end of Viren’s first scene he too stands on a balcony alongside Harrow as they look out at the land of Katolis, like two co-rulers.
The second parallel is that both Viren and Sarai pose for portraits with Harrow. Sarai's portrait is an intimate, family portrait but a subtly royal one. They pose on a dais between their respective thrones, clear symbols of royal power. For the second more official portrait, Harrow invites Viren to join in on this expression of royal power by inviting him on to the dais, between the same two thrones. When Sarai leaves the throne room with her children, Viren bows to her then takes up her place beside Harrow (though on the left side as opposed to Sarai being on the right). Viren becomes more than a servant, he visually takes on the role of co-ruler and co-royal, the role of a Queen.
After Harrow’s death Viren further frustrates heterosexual dominance by becoming a usurper. Traditionally, evil queens/stepmothers are framed as usurping the role of queen and mother from the protagonist’s biological, dead mother. When their husbands/kings die, they take sole control & power of their kingdom/household, power that is not "rightfully theirs".
Viren becomes a usurper when he tries to get himself coronated as regent (& later takes the crown in Book 3) and attempts to have the princes assassinated. Furthermore, he tells Soren that he will be next in line and will become king once Viren is dead. Viren is essentially making his children the heirs of Harrow instead of Harrow’s own child with Sarai. He spoils & challenges the concept of heterosexual marriage & family much like many evil queens & figures like Scar & Jafar. It's a rather uncomfortable, potentially homophobic trope if presented at face value with no subversion. This discomfort extends to Viren’s "death".
Disney villains that transgress & disrupt traditional idealizations of gender & sexuality are almost always defeated by young heterosexual love. It is no coincidence that Viren’s “death” has many of the same tropes as Evil Queen deaths. He falls to his death like the Evil Queen, Maleficent, and Mother Gothel. In the face of their deaths Snow White & The Prince ride off into the sunset. Aurora & Prince Philip dance the night away. Rapunzel & Eugene fight off Mother Gothel, save each other & kiss. Similarly, Rayla goes down with Viren off a cliff (just prior Viren was consuming the lifeforce of an innocent baby with the help of Aaravos, with whom he has a coded & charged relationship). Callum saves Rayla by declaring his love & unlocking a new magic flying ability all while Viren plunges to his death. Rayla declares her love too & they share a kiss. Young heterosexual love triumphs yet again.
In most fairy tale media this is the end for the Evil Queen. But The Dragon Prince subverts this by reviving Viren which opens the possibility of a new direction for his character. Ultimately, there's a reason why a sizeable part of the self-proclaimed Viren fandom tend to interpret Viren as bisexual, gay, or queer. His character borrows heavily from a history & tradition of queer coded villainy. Hopefully, this unique queer appeal of Viren is still a part of him & his story in the next seasons.

I swear, I think my mind is just a Rayllum AU generator:
Harrow also died on the mission with Sarai and Viren is the regent until Ezran is old enough (like Aanya), but Callum has been sent away to a kind of monastery and has been unable to leave or have unsupervised visits with Ezran, who is firmly under Viren's control (Viren knows Callum could replace him one day and he doesn't want that due to Callum being born lower class), since he was four Callum can see part of the Xadian border from the monastery and fantasizes about it all the time but also of leaving the monastery behind and seeing his old home or even a simple village.
Enter Rayla, an elven envoy who has been invited by Ezran in his first act as king to try to create peace between the elves and humans again.
They meet by chance when Rayla's party stopped at the monastery for the night and Callum sneaks out with them. Viren has abused his power (and is under control of Aaravos) and Callum is horrified at how hungry his people are and how all the blame is directed at Ezran even though Callum knows Ezran would never have allowed that. So, Callum enlists Rayla to help him depose Viren and Rayla is conflicted because she wants peace more than an all out war, but she cannot deny that the people of Katolis are clearly suffering. So either they are vigilantes a la Robin Hood or they work within the palace to finally expose Viren
And then there's the AU where Rayla is a mermaid who washes up on shore as a young child and is found by Callum. She has forgotten she's a mermaid and is afraid of water because she's become convinced she was in the ocean because she was drowning and almost died. She finds out by mistake one day as a young adult and she struggles with whether or not to stay with Callum after they just started a relationship or to follow this new knowledge and see if she can reconnect with her home and her birth family (she was raised by Runaan and Ethari on land but she has dim memories of Tiadrin and Lain who she believed had died in the same accident that she thought caused her to almost drown).
Then the Notting Hill AU where Callum owns an art gallery actress Rayla accidently stumbles upon (@zuppizup we need to write this)
Pygmalian AU except it's Rayla is a painting instead of a statue...
Doctor X AU where Rayla is a surgeon and Callum is her husband but has a brain tumor and she fights her coworkers for operating on him because she never fails but their egos get in the way.
Pirates of the Caribbean AU where Callum is Elizabeth, Rayla is Will, and Soren is Jack while Viren is Barbaros. Soren is acting as a matchmaker for Rayla and Callum while Ezran is leading the Navy to get Callum back.
And at least...20 more.....watch me never write any of these

here’s some tdp Headcannons no one asked for
khessa and janai were super close when they were both princesses; when khessa became queen she became distant and cold due to the burden of being queen but she never stopped doting after janai. janai, however, came to the assumption that khessa became arrogant, and this led to rising tension bewteen the sisters.
callum has DEFINITELY used manus, pluma, volantus to shield him and rayla from the rain before >:3c
viren’s ex wife hated viren’s use of dark magic - she saw it as barbaric and unethical. they fought about it constantly due to viren being stubborn as hell and viren’s wife being insistent as hell
claudia is definitely an astrology person
the dragon king is a big softie when it comes to zubeia and was really excited about being a dad
sunfire elves and moonshadow elves have friendly banters and meet up to spar time to time (because typical moon vs sun trope) and it’s all in good fun.
TIDEBOUND ELVES CAN BECOME MERMAIDS AT WILL YOU CANNOT TELL ME OTHERWISE
lujanne’s “first three husbands” were humans; she outlived all of them :(
^ adding onto that, elves live much longer than humans. i’m not sure if this is canon or not ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
sarai is korean because im korean and i said so
sarai and harrow are Bi Culture
callum’s bio dad died in a skirmish between elves and humans - hence why sarai was so hesitant on the idea of killing an innocent monster for dark magic
rayla hates water because during her assasin training, she accidently slipped into a river and almost drowned until runaan saved her
ethari loves animals; runaan doesnt
“no ethari we are not adopting another animal we already have 2”
skywing elves born with wings have a bad reputation because they’re known for taking advantage of their wings to get into trouble or easily commiting theivery and generally Just Boasting About Their Wings
callum loves rollercoasters (are rollercoasters a thing in tdp?? whatever)

Sup y'all thinking some more about tdp and now here's what i want for the upcoming seasons
(I'm doing this guessing that s4 will be earth, s5 will be ocean and s6 will be star, that progression makes most sense to me)
ZYMS FIRST WORDS! ZYMS FIRST WORDS! ZYMS FIRST WORDS!
More of Queen Aanya please
Closer look into Xadian politics, the sunfire elves seemed to have their own government and moonshadows seemed to have a council or something but they've got the whole Dragon Monarchy and I wanna see more of that because I'm a nerd
The ramifications of Viren's march through Xadia, the sunfire elves are going to have a lot to deal with
GIVE ME RUNAAN
More Ethari
(Yes I love the elves, sue me)
More dragons, particularly Sol Regem types (ie names, funky design, speech, personality, specific elemental type)
The long term effects of the extreme dark magic that Claudia used, necromancy is never a simple task in fiction and there has to be more consequences than exhaustion and some white hair
SHOW ME THE OCEAN ELVES! SHOW ME THE OCEAN DRAGONS! ARE THE ELVES MERMAIDS! IS NESSIE A THING! I LOVE THE OCEAN!
More Janai
BAIT BAIT BAIT BAIT BAIT BAIT BAIT
Human/elf friendships give me life
I love Lujanne, she's absofuckinglutely wild and she just delights me
More magic in general, particularly the spells that callum does because it's a good time watching callum learn spells
Related, it'd be Neat if Zubeia taught callum some spells
More of the key of aaravos
Viren dying slowly and painfully
Aaravos as his own villain, because I can't see him becoming a good guy. He's obviously using Viren for his own ends, and I can't wait to see what he does when he's released from the prison
Sarai's spear in still in Avizandum, and I kinda want someone to take it out and then have Callum learn how to use it, maybe using it both as a weapon and a conduit of magic kinda like what Aaraviren used at the end of s2 but on the "good side" and then when they have a final showdown they're mirroring each other, it's just a good image in my mind
More/better LGBTQ+ representation
More development of Callum and Rayla's relationship
Thanks for reading, I have too many ideas and i'm already desperate for s4 and s5 and s6

I have been working on this character for a long time, and only now am posting this because I finally fixed her human form’s hair. It was the same shade as the dragon form...but that was too light on her complexion.
(Information under the Keep Reading)
This is Pendara (which is usually the dragon/ancient name for my s/i when writing as an s/i character) who is an Archdragon of the Ocean, but also an Ocean/Star dragon hybrid (this is important because it explains how she shapeshifts) that is kind of like a “The Little Mermaid” type character. Wanting to be with humans and learn more about them, before developing feelings for a specific human. Probably the most dangerous one she could encounter given her true nature...the High Mage of Katolis, Lord Viren. (More on how that happens later.)
Pendara has an odd fascination with humans and a deep sense of curiosity about them and their lifestyles, but as a dragon peacefully observing is not possible (especially at the time she thinks to do so, which is before the Dragon King’s death) but eventually the push she needs is made and she uses her magic to transform into a human woman.
She has a small connection to Star magic given her hybrid nature, but only enough to make this transformation. She doesn’t think she is strong enough to turn back, but at the time of doing so doesn’t care. She sneaks across the border and into the human kingdoms where she finds her way to Katolis. There after a series of events, she is given a job at a flower shop, her exotic beauty and kind personality drawing in customers much more effectively than before.
Through this job she can get to know humans and see the way they live their lives. Learning through gossip and books the history of the kingdom, all while living her new life as a florist. Unaware that her life has more in store for her in the most unlikely of ways...
How They Met:
(Disclaimer: Inspiration for this comes from a series of Headcanons for a Chairman Rose x Reader story written by someone else. I only got the flower shop and first request idea from those headcanons, the rest is my own writing.)
As said above, Pendara-after sneaking into the Human Kingdoms to live with humans-eventually got a job at the flower shop in Katolis Capitol’s town square. She was already quite good at ‘flower language’ so they took to her quickly. Making a bit of a name for the little shop.
So much so that one day Lord Viren, High Mage of Katolis, paid the shop a visit. Pendara knew of Viren but had never met him. He made a very blunt and unusual request (same as in the headcanons. Flowers that say ‘fuck you’, probably for his freshly divorced ex-wife after the sting of their splitting hurt less. But still enough he felt salty.), one that caused her to laugh though not at him.
He mistakes her laughter to be at him though and demands why his request is funny. She’s seen humans do this before. Trying to seem more intimidating due to their status. She apologizes with a curtsy, though without any true remorse, and explains herself. It just caught her off-guard.
Still a bit indignant he tries to keep his remaining dignity and asks (a bit snappishly) if she can help him or not. Patience beyond human limits, she does. Telling him the arrangement he will need then putting it together for him. He pays, leaves, and she assumes that’s the end of it. He was amusing, but a Dark Mage...and that made him dangerous to her people. To her.
She sees him again a month later when he returns with another request, this one more positive than the last. She was the one to help him again. Again she thought that would be the end of it, until he returned again in a shorter amount of time. The more he would visit, always she noticed grasping for a business-related reason for it, the longer those visits would be. They would have longer conversations as she would help him decide on the arrangement he needed.
One day he drops pretenses and (in our terms) asks her out. She’s more surprised than she thought she would be, but she accepts. Things go well and one date becomes more. Both their friends (Harrow to Viren, Pendara’s co-workers to Pendara) and family (Viren’s...his kids and his uncle Barius-based on another cute Headcanon that started as a crack idea-whom he’s talking to more often again) can see the positive changes in the two respectively.
Viren seems to be happier than he had been in a long time. Pendara seems more focused and contented... It isn’t for a very long time that they take the next step. She knows he still feels the sting of his divorce. What if this relationship goes the same way? Yes there are a lot of factors that went into the last one...but if this relationship loses its spark, then what?
He’s usually more impulsive and one to risk it all...but not when it’s for himself outside of pursuit of knowledge or magic. It’s when she does something that clears any doubts that he finally proposes. Soren takes it well. He likes Pendara and sees how happy she makes his dad.
Claudia has reservations. She thinks something’s off about Pendara but can’t place what or why she thinks this. Plus she isn’t sure how she feels about her dad remarrying. What if they fight like he did with their mom? She remains wary until a talk with Callum helps her to feel better about it.
And that is how my alternate ship/side-ship (in some cases) comes to be. Pendara is technically a self-insert as well, but much more OC than S/I by now. I cannot comfortably ship myself with Viren as I am...mostly because I don’t see me as I am being very compatible with him even if I was older.
I still like Viren, as a character and a person in the show, but I can’t see Me/g being with anyone but Aaravos right now.
Information to Know:
-No one knows Pendara is a dragon, not even her new family. She feels she should tell them but something holds her back. This will eventually lead to conflict.
-I think by now Claudia and Soren feel comfortable calling Pendara ‘mom’. Maybe not all the time, but it is less of a mouthful.
-Viren and Pendara don’t plan on having kids. Soren and Claudia are enough and privately Pendara isn’t sure they’re even compatible.
-When Aaravos comes into the picture the moment he sees Pendara...he knows what she is. This could be a threat to his plans so he plants paranoid ideas in Viren’s head about her when he gets the chance. Creating strain on their relationship, though slowly and subtly. He knows Viren doesn’t like or trust him...so he has to be careful.
-I don’t think Pendara and Me/g exist in the same storyline or universe. Especially since I’ve taken to the more meta way of writing things. Me, as I am, with my f/o doing whatever in our world instead of in TDP’s.
I don’t know if or when I’ll do anything with her, but I’m posting this on this blog because it’s more TDP than my main, and while she isn’t a self-insert really, I feel more comfortable posting it here.

I like this theory too! Pip’s plumage reminds me of Phoe-Phoe’s as well, so it seems like they deliberately drew them so we’d draw connections between them.
That said, I still don’t think that Harrow was entirely willing to do the swap. When Viren left the room to have his racist tirade and Ursula-voice-stealing moments with Callum, he already seemed pissed off—suggesting to me that the soul swap wasn’t done without force. If Harrow had been 100% willing, I think we would have seen Viren coming out of the room either triumphant or relieved.
Pip is a Phoenix
Ok ok so maybe this makes sense and maybe I drank dumb bitch juice this morning but I have an idea.
We know Harrow would never agree to trade another life for his own right? Right. So Viren went up that one last time with the snake and nothing was like fully clarified so that’s how we got the theory that pip is actually harrow and tht they switched souls
Now the only way I personally can see Harrow agreeing to something like that, is if pip somehow could survive that. Phoenixes are able to be reborn again and again right, so when Harrows body died, pips soul would still live (don’t ask me how or where I haven’t worked that out yet, feel free to add on) and we know phoenixes exist because of lujanne and Phoe-Phoe, and who’s to say that other types of phoenixes exist. Not every Phoenix has to be the size of a bus lmao.
Adding onto that Viren seems to have some less than happy reactions to pip in general possibly because pip is a magic bird, and Viren feels its a waste to not kill it for dark magic, given it can be reborn and killed again for more dark magic (dark I know but again just a thought) and Harrow, knowing he could keep himself and pip both alive might’ve actually been inclined to agree to those terms. So I might be breaking my arm with this reach but I’m bored in french class and I just thought of this and I had to share.
