You ran down the hallway as quickly as you could, the bleeding gash in your ankle not aiding your escape. But this time was different. Typically Miss Bloomie chased her failing students at full speed with no mercy. But you could tell she was trying her best to act as if she wanted to kill you. You knew too well that she was on purposely letting you escape.

Unfortunately the issue is if the other teachers notice you, it'd be over for you. Even if you're not failing the other teacher's classes, Miss Circle and Miss Thavel would still join in just for fun. And as you can guess, they've definitely noticed. They cornered you, Bloomie facing the investible situation in which she'd have to murder you now

The memories of You, her favorite student for the past years replaying in her mind. Times of when you'd give her little doodles of her and you'd always tell her how much you enjoyed her class. Her heart aching every second that went by. She thought about how you'd come into her class for lunch just to help her. Even leaving your other classes to join her's.

Miss Bloomie had loved you as if her own child. It really tore her apart, you'd usually get a perfect score on every test. She didn't know what happened this time. But Miss Bloomie isn't one to cheat grades, so she has to punish you now.

She was now standing in front of you, raising her box cutter arm ready to strike you. She had thought about the little gifts you'd present to her, wether it was Christmas, or Mother's Day, or Teacher's appreciation week, she'd keep all those little gifts on her desk. Even pictures of you two together, giving off family like memories.

Miss Bloomie slowly thought of the quickest and most efficient way to kill you, she didn't want you to suffer or feel pain. She really had wished this was any other student and not you. Miss Bloomie doesn't have a family of her own, so the comfort you gave her is to be surley missed.

The minutes felt like hours as she stood looking down on you, her box cutter quickly darting at you to swiftly end you. Blood splattered across the hallway. The hallway is tenebrous, filled with an uncomfortable and asphyxiating aura. She looks down as solemn as can be. The other teachers snickering before leaving.

Bloomie looks at your body in the ground, she was never one to cry. And even now she isn't crying, but she truly wants to cry. She gently sits down next to your body, spending one last school day with you. Even if you're not breathing.

gahhhh how are people going to university and STILL make mistakes like waste/waist, should have/should of, wonder/wander, there/their/they're, etc? Like, you'd think because I'm ESL I'd be more likely to make these kinds of mistakes but no, I figured out most of this ages ago. It's usually native speakers that make the worst kinds of these mistakes too!

Like I get not everybody's education is amazing or anything but come on dude. It's not that I don't believe you're in university but when you make mistakes like these I'm just... how the fuck? How does that happen? Has seriously NOBODY in your entire time in school pointed this out to you? This is the kinda shit I associate with high schoolers, not uni students.

I know this is like. Petty at best but it's still baffling.

These are indeed native type mistakes, and being older doesn't usually solve them.

In my experience, they tend to happen most to people who just don't notice nitpicky details and whose eyes skip over the difference even when they're reading something correctly spelled and comparing it to their own misspelled thing. It may also be that someone learned these things wrong in the first place, so they're sure they're right until directly confronted.

I can't think of a single university class where this would have been pointed out. I had literature classes, sure, but I did not have basic composition classes. I disliked writing essays, so I mostly avoided professors who assigned a lot of them. It's possible an individual assignment might have gotten marked up for this kind of error, but it's more likely someone would just get a bad overall grade for "proofreading" or "spelling" or something.

Now, granted, I didn't actually make any of these errors back then or any other time, but that's because 1. I do notice nitpicky things naturally and automatically and 2. I read grammar/usage blogs.

The main way a person is going to notice these Ten Top Words Everybody Gets Wrong errors is not by going to school: it's by reading other people's complaints.

I can't remember which ones I used to get wrong off the top of my head... wait! Restaurateur. I thought there was an n! Why isn't there an n?! I got all the way to like... last year (?) with that one still wrong.

Alarms blare. The red lights flash in all directions as you run through the corridors. This mission felt bad from the start, and yet you still insisted on doing it, you felt so stupid for taking a more difficult job. As you walked further in side you noticed the room was pretty large, there were crates lining the walls, and screens that depicted the amount of storage they had.

“Huh, a storage unit! Good I could get-”

“Get what exactly?” A voice interrupted you, turning around to look at the other person in the room. From behind a few large crates was the captain of the ship, Xena. He sighed, “Did you have to invade my ship while I was busy with monitoring inventory?” He asked as if it was a common thing for people to do. “You're very lucky I met my quota on the amount of bodies I've slaughtered…”

The captain, a large lilac-skinned alien, stood at 6'11 with a sly, sharp-toothed grin plastered on his face as he stalked his way over to where you stood. His movement was slow as if he was purposefully letting your fear simmer and grow. You seemed to be so distracted that you didn't realize that he had stalked his way to the door, barricading you into the room with him. He made his way closer to you. You can sense the air around him holding something dangerous, so you start to back away until you are being cradled by a wall of boxes.

“What do you want from me…?”, you ask as far starts to make itself known in your form, shaking with wide eyes as his form towered over you the more you tried to make yourself smaller.

“You.”, He replied, looking similar to a predator about to pounce on their unsuspecting prey.

Moans could be heard from the storage docks, the sound of skin slapping against skin as Xena gripped your hips with a bruising grip as he piston into you. “Sl- Agh! Slower… ngh! Please!”, You beg as you are bent over a crate your hands being tied together with a gadget of solid light usually used to keep folded boxes in a bundle. It felt uncomfortable but Xena didn't care about the thief underneath him or how uncomfortable they may be, he just looked for his release and the tightly clenched hole around his thick cock is the only way he would like to reach it.

I've been thinking since yesterday about the purpose of revealing the truth about Corlys's betrayal to Rhaenys, especially just before dying: there will never be enough time to truly understand the repercussions of such a wound. Furthermore, the fact that Corlys will still welcome his children into his family, legitimize them, and name them heirs, despite these being his last conversations with Rhaenys, makes me even more uneasy.

What are your thoughts on this?

Hello! Firstly, just to say I'm typing this on my mobile so apologies for any autocorrect mishaps or spelling errors I fail to spot.

I'd also like to preface this by saying, I'm taking it as it comes. I'm not speculating or assuming anything to come to any concrete opinion before an episode airs or events happen. It's easy to say Corlys will do all of these things but it's bad to claim to know how, why or what will actually occur. We don't yet know the motivation, headspace, emotions, concerns or politics that will drive any of these future events with Corlys and the Hull brothers.

For example, there is the nuclear option: Rhaenys dies, Corlys rubs his hands in glee and thinks "now I can do this, I'm so happy to finally bring my sons into the picture, this solves everything". I do not think that will be the case for many, MANY reasons.

An alternative, which may happen or may not, is that Corlys, deeply hurt by yet another loss, sees war coming and seeks to secure his seat in the case of his death: both prospective heirs from his discussion with Rhaenys are inexperienced, untested, too young and also far, far away. If he falls in the heat of battle, then the Velaryon Fleet would be leaderless and faltering. However, a terrible yet prudent option is a sailor with his blood. Alyn is a good option on merit. And the only way to secure that is to legitimise him. Perhaps it's even Jace's suggestion. Or Rhaenyra's. It doesn't HAVE to come from Corlys, only accepted by him. And perhaps he just wants blood around him: people he can trust, after a pillar of his life has been taken away. Folding this decision into the grief of losing his wife isn't an insurmountable challenge, to me. Is that blasphemous?

My point is, there are many ways to go about it. It doesn't have to be intrinsically against the memory of his wife. It's doesn't have to be a game plan or a callous action. It doesn't negate the deep love he feels for her or the fact that he would probably want it any other way.

Corlys is a deeply flawed man. He will no doubt do things that Rhaenys may have disagreed with as we move forward. But she won't be there. And that very fact changes everything. He will not be able to cleave and cling to every idea and wish she had. If she spoke to him of showing mercy to someone or not being overly violent or reckless in war, and he does something she would have opposed, is he spitting on her memory then? Or only in this?

My larger opinion on the conversation that he and Rhaenys have is that it's not to do with the succession at all, simply Corlys's headspace and mortality. He's not in that conversation thinking about Addam and Alyn because it's not an option because it only becomes an option due to Rhaenys dying. And Corlys cannot fathom her dying. He pushes the conversation away for reasons other than some secret plan to hopefully install his secret son on the Driftwood Throne.

We don't know what Rhaenys will know. We don't know how she will feel, how Corlys will feel, how everyone will feel (like Rhaenyra, Jace, Baela). We don't know how the Hull brothers feel. We don't know the circumstances surrounding their conception. The relationship they have with Corlys. From what we have seen, Alyn does NOT seem eager for Corlys's approval, nor does he seem massively ambitious at all. He doesn't want a thing from Corlys.

Like I said, I'm taking it as it comes. I know that's a bit crappy if you wanted a bombastic answer, but there we are.

It is heartbreaking that Rhaenys and Corlys will have this right before she dies. The line that stuck with me in the last episode was: And if there is no time? But that's the point. You're right, we won't know the repercussions. It will never be solved or settled or worked through. Rhaenys is dead. Whatever could have been... won't. It's ended.

This is a tragedy.

You asked about the purpose. That is the purpose. Tragedy. The fascinating thing for me, coming into this series, is that, actually, for three episodes... I don't think Alyn and Addam have affected Corlys and Rhaenys's relationship at all. I was expecting them to be a real wedge, very present, with it all being there from the start with Rhaenys. An elephant in the room. We haven't had that. Rhaenys has visited the docks once. She's met neither Addam or Alyn. Corlys has only interacted with Alyn and the relationship is only hinted at.

Instead, their issues comes from everything else: from their individual arcs and flaws as well as a shared pressure on them both. I don't know if I'm articulating this very well... it just surprised me, I guess. It's so much more subtle than I thought.

Corlys's fear to engage with Rhaenys isn't the dramatic idea of trying to hide this from her or worried she'll find out. Rhaenys's defenses aren't up and she isn't trying to have these tricky conversations with Corlys because she doesn't trust him or she suspects anything. They're just being human.
