My relationship with food is top notched and definitely isn't disordered at all

There's an open pit in the middle of our office plan that drops down into a bunch of very sharp spikes that kill you instantly. This is bad. People keep falling in there and dying. Someone put a sign up, the other day, all bright yellow so you can't miss it, that says "Beware!!! Spikes!!!"
The office immediately split into two factions over it. One says that if anyone falls in the spike pit it's their own fault for being so stupid and not watching where they're walking, so we should remove the sign. The other says that the sign is an insult, there shouldn't be a spike pit in our office at all, and having the sign up like that is just normalising the existence of the spike pit, so we should remove the sign.
We ended up removing the sign. Probably for the better. Still... for a while there it looked like it might have worked...

My favorite category error of the day.

The author confuses internal, intra-communal outreach with external proselytism. These are not the same.
Chabad encourages gentiles to follow the Noahide laws without inviting them to convert. That is not proselytism.
"Outreach Judaism" is very observant Jews reaching out to non-observant Jews. That's intrafaith engagement, not missionary proselytism.
The Hasmoneans imposed conversions during a brief period of theocratic rule. This is an outlier, not a norm...and Temple Judaism was not Rabbinical Judaism.
Judaism does not recruit outsiders. It allows conversion, but does not ever pursue it.
Will someone please get the author a dictionary and Simon Schama's The Story of the Jews for their birthday?

I have seen it all. I have now seen it ALL.
They’re now saying that “Jesus was a Canaanite”. In a way to call him Palestinian because Palestinians are descended from Canaanites. Correcting them and saying that he was a Jew just gets you more claims that he was actually a Canaanite- and BOTH Jews and Palestinians are Canaanites.
This is one of the funniest things I’ve seen in the shit show that has been the last couple of years.
I’m cackling.

They mean the blood quantum - if you take genetic info of the Arabs in the levant, some have significant Jewish DNA, which according to modern research is probably indistinguishable to Canaanite DNA.
This of course, ignores that ethnicity is not in the genes but in the culture, and that the Arabs living here are just Arabs
I have seen it all. I have now seen it ALL.

how i'm handling my students using AI to write papers:
-don't accuse them on using AI from the get-go and instead ask them to informally define all the huge words that they used in their essay which i know they don't know the meaning of
-ask to see their original file where they "wrote" the essay. go to version history to see if it was just copy and pasted and then just edited a bit. i keep an eye out for the shit like "certainly! here's an essay about...."
-if they own up to it, they can re-do the assignment for a higher grade even if there will be an automatic penalty. if they don't, i process it like plagiarism and get my supervisor involved.
