Being all-the-cats is a definite ride.

I’ve nixed a lot of my vaguetypes because over time it became clearer they were just cameos and flickers, so now I’m back to just a handful. Eevee and vaporeon, my cluster of OCs, original species and AU canon characters, and yes, of course, all the Felidae. “Felidae” includes all earthly extinct/extant felines, as well as partial/mythical/fictional ones. When I say partial I mean like sphinxes and felitaurs (the feline version of centaurs), for two examples. A mythical example is the cait sidhe/cat sith from Celtic lore, and then some fictional examples would be meowth, liepard, or luxray from the Pokémon franchise.

I know there are people out there who hate their ‘type(s) for whatever reason, but I don’t hate any of mine, except for perhaps the OCs/AU canon character ones when the memories/noemata get really unpleasant. But when it comes to the felinity of me? I adore it. I can’t imagine not being feline. It’s such an ingrained part of my identity, it just took me years to unravel it from thinking it was merely a heart-type/kith to it actually being me, the one ‘type I have the most certainty of. I have felt close with cats from my earliest memories, though, being the grabby and loud child that I was, cats didn’t start liking me until I got older and wiser. (I don’t dislike my eevee/vaporeon vaguetype either, but it’s a bit lower on the scale of Yes, Absolutely, That’s Me, than Felidae are.)

Lions, servals, domestic cats, caracals, jaguars, Scottish wildcats, you name it, I feel kin with it.

bashful - what's something that makes you/your pokémon feel shy?

"Shy" is such a kiddish word for an adult, I guess, but I am an introvert and can rarely stand the social spotlight on myself. I prefer to avoid drawing intense attention. Nox is the timider of the two of my persian, but I don't think I'd characterize them as truly "afraid" of much of anything, especially since evolving and becoming bigger.

rash - have you ever lost your cool before? if so, when?

Mostly when I was a teen and a kid. I was very unpopular in school. These days I come closest to "losing it" when I get into arguments with my father or half-brother, who can both be idiots sometimes.

calm - favorite warm drink?

Hot chocolate!

gentle - favorite flower/plant?

Ehh. Hard question. Anything pink really.

sassy - do you have a rival? how would you describe your relationship with them?

I used to joke around that one of my paternal first cousins, Samuel ("Cousin Sam" for short), was my rival in pokémon training. He humored me sometimes, we're more or less the same age, but he didn't always care about it. Meanwhile me with my autism, I always fixated on anything and everything that caught my interest for long periods. I didn't even own any 'mon to battle with as a teen or kid, and neither did he. It was all just stupid me running my mouth as ever back then with no point. I've never had a true rival.

careful - favorite pokémon/pokémon type to care for?

I have the most experience with Normal types seeing as I grew up in a home filled with meowth and own two persian now, so I guess they're my quote-unquote favorite. I love the aesthetics of Electric and Fairy types, though.

Otherkin technically, I suppose; theriomythic in specific.

🐾: What are your kintype(s)?

I used to believe I was only a polymorph for a long time. Recently I've whittled away even more at the mystery of myself with a friend's (very useful!) help (their URL is @dawnwyrm) and discovered I can still change forms, it's just that I'm a shapeshifting eastern dragon instead of a wobbly and self-uncertain polymorph. Not hating upon polymorphs at all! It just was the closest fitting thing for a time...but ultimately wasn't the case.

☀️: What was your awakening like? When was it?

I've always felt Other and Just Not Human Enough all my childhood. I learned about the concept of "otherkin" as a teen here on Tumblr during the Superwholockvengers, and Rise Of the Tangled Dragons type stuff heydays. I initially turned my nose up at it, wary of it since so many others seemed to mock it viciously. But the idea stuck with me stubbornly, and I went through numerous phases of latching onto fave characters that were not me in the end. Bluestar from Warrior Cats, Star Catcher from MLP gen3, then I tried being fictherian and therian, in the identities of a sable working line GSD and a meowth + persian pokemon...these did not stick either.

🤝: When did you first hear about the kin community?

Like I said, I was a wee widdle teeny-bopper. 14-16?

💪: Do you experience phantom limbs?

Yes.

💐: Do you experience any other shifts?

Moving ears and antlers.

💙: What’s your favorite shift you get? Why?

Mobile tails, moving ears, and antlers on my head.

It's kinda always, consistently happening? Pretty much?

Mostly randomly, but sometimes I see an art piece or a video that triggers it.

I have noema/noemata, more like, since I am not precisely a past-lifer. Not spiritual. More like a parallel life believer + a psychological alterhuman? I can understand a multiverse type thing.

💚: What’s your favorite thing about your kintype? (The species, creature, etc)

The power! I guess. The ability to change my body on a whim and back, too. The power thing is why I believe I have a psychological kintype, because I've been so powerless and hurt for much of my life. This part of me developed exactly in response to that helplessness. And I am okay with that. It helps me a lot.

🌀: Do you think kins are spiritual or psychological in nature?

It depends on the experiences of the individual!

🗣: Does anyone know you are otherkin? Friends, family, etc? If so, how did you tell them?

Nobody offline in my life knows about me, nor do they probably have the ability to understand the concept.

I have a ton of altH friends who are only online.

Not really. Not good at it.

Sorta. I get a lot of dreams where I fly like an eastern dragon should, usually as a method of getting away from monsters or captors in the dream.

Yes. Very much so. It would be amazing. And I could always just shapeshift back into my human body whenever I wanted to!

I do not own any gear yet.

👀: Give a controversial opinion/your stance on some type of discourse.

Huh. I dunno....ah. Factkin are uncomfortable for me if they identify with people still alive. Heck, identifying with real people from history is still kinda...off to me. But I respect them anyhow because, well, what can I do about it? It's how they see themselves, and so long as they are not hurting anyone, I don't have much room to speak.

🏔: What makes you feel closer to your kintype(s)?

Rivers, beaches, flying in the clouds (I've only been on a plane...3 times in my life, I think?).

✨: What are some things that validate you?

I uh...have never really been validated, I think? Sad to say. Though I did have a great dream a couple of months ago featuring my dead grandma and she told me to get an eastern dragon-y tattoo. Now I know why! Thanks Grammy!
