why... why am i just not good enough anymore? For the past few years, none of my art has won. For the past few years, I haven't had any friends. For the past few years, no one will actually give me an actual official diagnosis on a mental/physical problems. Is every facet of me not good enough? Am i just not good enough?
#unityrain.txt#i just... i don't understand#all the art i've submitted to things that didn't win... they weren't even bad things! i was really proud of them!#but i didnt win the art festival. i didn't win the nengajō competition (either level). i didn't even get in the top three of the jotun loki#design contest、which only had like 14 submissions.#given my streak i highly doubt i'll win the sonatina composition contest i entered either#with friends、i have none.#i used to have someone i was really really close with、but they left. And even though i've tried desperatly to make other friends、#no one seems interested#i do have some friendly acquaintances#but they don't seem to want anything more than that#i don't even fit in with my own family either#i'm very very lonely#with diagnosis、#my therapist (when i had one) said i definitely had anxiety depression and ocd、but that she couldn't actually diagnose me#also the general doctor i went to seemed to accept it and even offered medication that they don't usually give ppl my age#but if you actually look in my medical record it says nothing#and then i've had awful menstrual problems、and thought i probably had endometriosis、but when i went to the gynocologist#they said it wasn't that、but they didn't really seem to want to give me an actual specific diagnosis of whatever else it was either#they just said it was bad dysmenorrhea (medical term for cramps)、gave me a medication prescription、and then didn't put any diagnosis on my#record.#i just... why#vent#tw vent#vent in tags

Wait wait wait wait
So like, i was watching one of those videos about r/nothowgirlswork (or something like that) and one of the comments talks about periods and mentions this "menstrual cups" and am like. Wtf is that. I look at the responses but none of them provide an explicit explanation. So i look it up.
What. The Fuck.
Apparently there is a third option??? It's not just pads and tampons?? And am just finding that out now??

Nothing like hitting a new PR even during the menstrual phase of cycle 🫣😂 upped my hip abductions to 85 from 70 💪🏼 hit one of my sets on seated leg press to the same too 🦵🏼 gonna try and update more here on my workouts! All of this is tracked as weights just bc it’s easier than switching it out but it includes treadmill and stair stepper at the end too… only 3 min instead of the 5 I’ve been trying to hit on stairs at the end tho bc I was wiped out 😆 excited to get home and shower and pound some protein filled food 🤣
Considering adding a 5th gym day each week and starting upper/lower splits instead of hitting everything all at once but I’m not sure yet 🤔 any opinions for how to/if I should shift that?

I like it when people argue and still end ip saying nothing
i am quite honestly very exhausted with this starbucks feminism that preoccupies itself with the centering of rich white feminine women in the neoliberal capitalist lens and typically no one else.

The Story Of Wicked
Tumblr media
We know how it feels…to be a non-being, confined in a cage..to always be known by the name of our father, brother or husband, and have no identity of our own.  This lament from an Afghan girl could be chiseled on the gravestones of most women throughout human history.  Female oppression is so pervasive, it seems normal in many societies. When prejudice is common, it becomes invisible even to the oppressed. Some women may see the evil yet defend the practice. Low status is better than no status. India’s attempt to rid itself of child marriages illustrates the dilemma. Mothers living in poverty see the reform as threatening. How are they and their offspring to survive if their daughters are no longer assets but additional mouths to satisfy? There is no one to feed us. I don’t know if my family can survive, one mother wailed despite her knowledge that child brides die in greater numbers than older women.  Treating women like cattle takes a subtler form in western cultures.  In this country, state legislators think nothing of proposing bills that intrude upon a woman’s privacy. Abortion bans are common, but in one state, women not only must carry a fetus to a term like a dairy cow but their menstrual cycles are subject to public record. Few women, rich or poor, educated or uneducated escape the patriarchy. When a Fox news reporter fact-checked Donald Trump’s claim that Arizona’s voting machines had “rigged” the election in 2020, she exposed his statement as a lie. To her surprise, her male colleagues took umbrage and demanded that she be fired. Management listened. Fox News CEO Suzanne Scott said the reporter had a serious nerve doing this and if this gets picked up viewers are going to be disgusted.  In the end, the reporter withdrew her statement and gave the truth to a lie.    Another case concerns CNN newscaster Don Lemmon’s recent comment about Nikki Haley. When she announced her decision to seek the presidential nomination of her party, his reaction gave women of all persuasions a reason to blanch.  Nikki Haley isn’t in her prime, sorry.  A woman is considered to be in their prime in 20s and 30s and maybe 40s  When he linked a woman’s worth to her reproductive years, he sounded like a member of the  Taliban.  Recently two female heads of state resigned from their high office. Scotland’s first minister Nicola Sturgeon gave her reason.  …the brutality of life as a politician had taken a toll on her  New Zealand’s Prime Minister Jacinda Arden’s made a similar confession. She hadn’t enough in the tank to carry on.  Helen Clark, Arden’s New Zealand predecessor understood.   … in this era of social media, clickbait. And 24/7 media cycles, Jacinda has faced a level of hatred and vitriol which in my experience is unprecedented in our country. Were these women of weak character? Their circumstances weren’t amiss. Neither faced strong opposition in an upcoming primary or were touched by scandal.  Yet, they turned their back on power and took a stand against the growing meanness in the world. Perhaps these women are outliers of a feminine way, one that rejects the will to power and the shibboleth that might is right. If we listen, we can hear those savage drums, too. To protect the young in a crumbling economy, one Yale professor proposes to euthanize Japan’s elderly. Texas, legislators plan to strip Chinese American citizens of their right to own land, even a home. The wickedness leveled against women over the centuries has taken its toll. Discrimination, once it’s legitimized, seeps into every corner of society.   A civilization that draws strength from this form of hate and fear lacks cohesion and will implode. That’s what Scotland’s Sturgeon and New Zealand’s Arden want us to see. Power for the sake of power corrupts.  Power used for the common good heals.     One day, should this truth find a wider audience, women will find themselves at the forefront of change.  Having freed themselves, their instinct will be to achieve that freedom for others.   What will it be like, this world with no aliens?  Without wars of conquest, insurrections, or mass shootings, what might we witness? I suspect what we will see is children laughing in the rain.

hiii!! can i suggest some hotch x bau!wife!reader where reader is pregnant and she doesnt know, but at work she goes on about how she doesnt know whats wrong with her lately and spencer suggests that she might be pregnant and then she find out that she is!!
I love your writing sm btw😚😚😚
i think i might finally have enough time to write whole blurbs again :'))
--
"No flamin' hot for you today, Mrs. Hotchner?" Derek eyes your bag of plain cheetos where they lay open on your desk, and you grimace at his phrasing.
"God, no," You groan, "Don't make me sick."
"You love those things," His brows furrow, and he leans on the edge of your desk with one hand, his thick fingers splayed out over the wood, "I'm pretty sure your tongue is permanently stained red by now."
"I like them when I'm not in the middle of some weird stomach bug," You admit, "I woke up sick. I don't know what did it, but it was probably something Jack brought home."
Derek pointedly removes his hand from your desk, but he's kind enough not to tell you that he thinks you're contagious.
"Feel better, mama." He offers with something that you're sure is supposed to be a sympathetic smile, but looks a little more like a wince. Emily isn't so easily scared off, though, and she continues munching on the carrot sticks she'd brought for a snack.
"You look tired," She comments, and you almost want to take offense, "You were up all night with your stomach thing?"
"No, just when my alarm went off," You hum, swallowing a bite of your sandwich and trying not to heave at the texture, "It was nice enough to let me sleep, but-" Your sentence is cut off with a well-timed yawn, "I feel like I've been awake for days."
"Probably just your period," Penelope hums softly, trying and failing to keep your menstrual cycle a secret, which isn't surprising considering her track record with secrets. Everyone is kind enough to ignore the information she revealed, but when you shake your head and grumble, 'I'm late.', Spencer snaps to attention.
"You've missed a menstrual cycle, you're feeling extreme fatigue, and you're experiencing morning sickness?" Spencer verifies, and it's only with his discerning brain that you feel a weight sink in your stomach - preferably not your unborn baby.
"Oh my god," You breathe, your hand coming subconsciously up to your stomach, "Oh my- oh my god! Aaron, Aaron!"
Aaron rushes out of his office with the combined urgency of boss and husband, his eyes locking on you sharp with concern.
The air between you is thick as the members of your team grin up at Hotch, leaving you the silence to cheer, "I'm pregnant!"
His eyes are no longer viciously worried, their sharp edge melting into something far softer. His lips part, barely enough to let air through, until they crack and curve upwards in a dazzling smile that the bullpen doesn't often get to see.
"You took a test?" He confirms, but when you shake your head, he dims slightly.
"Reid said I am," You offer, and his zeal is back. You're sure he wishes he could wrap you up in a truly breathtaking embrace, complete with kiss far too passionate for your work environment, but you'll save it until you're at home, away from prying eyes and phone cameras. Regardless, you can feel his exhilaration from where you stand, and you're already planning out a nursery in your mind.
"He's probably more trustworthy than the plastic stick," Derek claps Reid on the back, and the doctor looks like the wind was knocked out of him. They're both smiling, though, and you feel JJ's hand on your shoulder, squeezing happily.
"Congratulations," Rossi pats Aaron on the shoulder, much gentler than Reid had been subjected to, "But a word of advice, Hotch? Don't have any more. If I have to split my inheritance another way, it won't be worth killing me over."

My dear lgbt+ kids,
This is another "menstruation education" letter - let's talk myths and facts about swimming while on your period!
Myth: You will leave behind a bloody trail in the water.
Fact: The water pressure temporarily decreases your flow. While it doesn’t stop completely, it usually slows down enough for it to not make any mess in the water! Even if something overrides this (such as a big sudden movement like sneezing or laughing), the small amount of blood that may get into the water will dilute quickly in open water (like in a lake) or will be neutralized by the chemical treatment of the pool water.
Myth: Being in the water while on your period will cause infections.
Fact: It’s generally a good idea to change out of your wet bathing suit quickly after swimming (as the wet fabric can be irritating to your vulva and potentially cause PH changes that may increase your risk for yeast infections). But apart from that, there are no changes in your body that make it more susceptible to infection or injury while on your period!
Myth: If you swim in open water while on your period, you will get eaten by sharks.
Fact: According to the International Shark Attack File, there are no recorded cases of sharks attacking someone on their period. It is true that sharks can smell blood – but they can also smell urine and other bodily fluids. Despite this, shark attacks on humans are super rare.
Myth: Swimming will make your cramps worse.
Fact: If you feel up to it, gentle exercise can actually help with cramps! During exercise, your body releases endorphins that act as natural painkillers. (With that being said, you know your body best! If you don't feel up to it, it's okay to not exercise while on your period)
Myth: You can't swim on your period unless you use tampons
Fact: Tampons (or menstrual cups) are a great choice for swimming, but there are plenty of people who can't/don't want to wear them and usually wear pads instead. Pads aren't recommended for swimming (as they would absorb water and become very uncomfortable and possibily irritating). Luckily, there is an alternative: period swimwear. Those are special swimsuits made with extra protection to absorb menstrual blood - similiar to period underwear!
With all my love,
Your Tumblr Dad

This is very validating. I make charts and graphs of my symptoms but have thus far resisted the urge to show them to my doctors because I thought they would think it was weird. I did infodump about the statistics of my PMS symptoms once and I think it may be the most autistic thing I've done in my entire life. I am both embarrassed and very proud of myself for that.
Also, those statistics are how I figured out my depression got worse immediately before my periods, which as it turns out is A Thing. Knowing that and being able to explain to my OBGYN what was going on has made my life so much beter. Hooray for the power of data and infodumping!
I love my patients. Like, I tend to attract former engineers, and they bring me detailed spreadsheets, and sometimes it’s unnecessary and sometimes it’s amazing. And sometimes there are graphs about their gas.
