We’ve heard this time and time again and just like many other age old mantras we’ve dismissed its truth. But no matter how modern the 🌎 becomes this statement will forever be true. Many of our relationships are broken because we’ve blurred the lines of respect. Without respect a daughter can’t submit, trust, or even value us as mothers. Trust me you’ll be close when everything’s good and full of laughter but when issues arise in her life with you or others, she will not solicit your advice. If true reconciliation is what we’re after, we must be willing to be VULNERABLE! Yes this is extremely uncomfortable with no guarantees but absolutely necessary. Vulnerable is what we become when all we have is our truth to hold on to. No masks, no lies or no walls are allowed. If you are READY (emotionally and spiritually mature) to begin your Mending process, we suggest you be vulnerable with your mom or your daughter. Express your needs, concerns, and even your complaints, with respect and compassion. Let her see that she does matter to you and you’ve been fronting because you can’t handle being hurt anymore. Often we make the mistake of thinking that a #present #parent is a pleasant parent and this couldn’t be further from the #truth Our #daughters are watching us constantly chase #money #dreams and #freedom more than we tend to their needs! They need us! They are yearning for #love in ways we never can imagine.
