Often we make the mistake of thinking that a #present #parent is a pleasant parent and this couldn’t be further from the #truth Our #daughters are watching us constantly chase #money #dreams and #freedom more than we tend to their needs! Look, if you really want to mend the relationship with your daughter you're gonna have to explain why she always have come second to your men. She's angry because while you were trying to find safety and affection, her emotional needs went unmet. It's not that she hated every guy you brought around, it's just that she had become eerily familiar with where it would leave her. What she didn't know as a child, was that you were also just as deprived of love as she was! You probably didn't know it then either. But now you do. Please mom, swallow your pride and humble yourself. Share with her that your daddy issues or your own sexual abuse is what made you crave the attention of men but You never intended to hurt her. I realize that God has entrusted me with a tremendous assignment- to Mend broken mother/daughter relationships everywhere! Cleveland Ohio is simply the beginning.... Moments like these are what Mended INC is all about! Our greatest desire is to see ALL Mothers and Daughters developing harmonious and healthy two sided relationships! This takes hard work! Both must be willing to be vulnerable, honest and take responsibility for their portion of the trauma. Yesterday was so powerful because we were able to witness a mothers sincere humility received by a beautiful daughter who's since forgiven her and now cherishes what they have! It was such a blessing and a huge encouragement to many of us who haven't reached this point of reconciliation in our own relationships with Mom. This may be a really hard pill to swallow, especially if it were never your intention to neglect your daughter, however the damage may have been done. We hear this from several of our broken (women) daughters! They are still trying to understand why their good grades, no teen pregnancies, and upright character wasn't enough to gain your attention. Often we as mothers spend all of our time trying to save our "lost kid" and we end up punishing our "good kid". This situation almost inevitably causes the "good kid" to become jealous or envious of their reckless sibling. This is also the starting point of their disenchantment with you, because they've spent their entire lives fighting for your attention, seeking your love and validation. The good thing is, if you're both alive there's still a chance to reconcile your relationship! Trust me she would love for you to acknowledge how she feels and make it better. Hard bitterness is a cry for help. But don't forget that there maybe layers of pain that will take lots of patience and humility on your part to help her recover!
