I think if watamote was a western cartoon, YouTubers would make rant videos on it and people would make animated atrocities scorecards on it for being "mean-spirited." they'd either call tomoko a "megward the wizard" or make crudely drawn art of her getting beaten up by other cartoons
#this is exactly the type of show that certain abrasive cartoon reviewers would tear to shreds#but I actually like this show#which is strange because I usually don't like secondhand embarrassment in media#in this case I think I relate a bit too much to tomoko#I think she embodies the ugly side of not just people with social anxiety but pretty much everyone#watamote#tomoko kuroki

Ela estĂĄ destinada a grandes coisas! . . . . . . #djanemagnews #remix #megward #solace #joeturner #music #djane #news #notĂcias #djanemagbr #djanemagbrasil #djanemagbrazil (em Newcastle, England, United Kingdom) https://www.instagram.com/p/CLPkyYNllAP/?igshid=vo0xvmpzdi4c

I Write an Honest Trailer for She Ra.
The Company that mistakenly thinks 13 Reasons Why, Insatiable, Big Mouth and Paradise PD are superior to Tuca and Bertie, Project MC2, One Day at a Time and their Marvel shows (You're losing Friends to HBO Max, Netflix! Cut your losses and use that money for Tuca and Bertie!) and the studio still not living down Shark Tale ask the creator or Lumberjanes and Nimona to prove they're not all bad.
She Ra and the Princesses of Power
Enter a reimagining of a show made to target the sisters of He Man Fans upgraded by Diverse body types, ethnicities, and tons of gaaaaaaaaaay. This is Noelle Stevenson. You're a gift from the Gods, Noelle!
Meet Adora. A Horde soldier happy to serve them only to find out they're the bad guys and find a sword that turns her into She Ra. The hero Etheria needs, along with the fact that she used the be in the Horde and knows them inside out, she has the power to be stronger, change her sword into things, and mutate animals. Whatever happened to that Caterpillar she transformed? Is that gonna turn into Flutterina?Â
She Joins the Rebellion, and is joined by Glimmer, a princess who feels like her mom treats her like a baby, Bow, an archer less interested in running his parents' library and covering his abs and more interested in making Green Arrow Arrows and cracking jokes, Her Steed Swift Wind, a horse mutated into a guy worthy of his own shorts on YouTube, Perpetually annoyed Mermista, who could potentially get in a groaning contest against Tina Belcher, Hippie Princess Perfuma, Living Vine Frosta, Sea Hawk, who can't keep a boat in one piece for a second, Quirky and fun inventor Entrapta, who they ditch after mistakenly thinking she's dead, leading her to join the Horde, (Whoops! Happens to the best of us.) and Netossa and Spinnerella, who hopefully get more screentime in future seasons.Â
They must free Etheria from Hordak, who is more threatening than in the 80's where you're trying to figure out if he's snarling or constantly forgets to take his allergy meds, and his forces, like, Shadow Weaver, who's parenting makes Peter and Lois Griffin look like Blake Belladonna's parents, Scorpia, a princess who is too good and pure for the Horde and needs to bail on them for the Rebellion yesterday, Lonnie, Rogelio and Butt of Jokes Kyle, and Adora's childhood friend/Ex, Catra, a catgirl who becomes force Captain in her place yet can't seem to escape getting the Meg Griffin treatment from Shadow Weaver until the end of season 1. And inadvertently frees her at the end of season 2 after she gaslight her. And gets fired by Hordak. She'll be fine. She has a leather jacket.
So get your prom tux, grab your sword, and join us for a fun and compelling show that exceeds the original so much, that you'll excuse that there may be no He Man here. Wether that loses you or not, give Hilda a try, also. You won't regret it.
Starring...
You are a First One Baby! (Uh huh!) (Adora/She Ra)
Can't catch a break when it comes to her doll (Glimmer)
Sokka Arrow (Bow)
Catwoman (Catra)
Still Too Pure for the Horde (Scorpia)
Weird Science (Entrapta)
Hey Adora (Montage of Catra saying "Hey Adora" ending with She Ra saying "Hey, Catra.")
Transformations
Glimmer Arguing with her Mom
DeFrosta Ice Princess (Frosta, complete with her compared to seasons 1 and 2.)
The Little Mermood (Mermista)
Peaceful Ivy (Perfuma)
NOW THEY'RE RADIOACTIVE! THAT CAN'T BE GOOD! (The Princesses Glowing a rainbow)
Design Upgrades (Comparison between 80's She Ra and Now)
HOORdak (Hordak)
Can we give her the Thrax Death? (Shadow Weaver)
Crushing on Scorpia (Lonnie)
Lizard People (Rogelio)
Megward the Wizard (Kyle)
Sing Along with SeaHawk
Universal Studios She Ra
And...
Horsey, Horse, Stallion, Steed. Searching for more apples and fields to graze in. Then an accidental dose of She Ra Radiation interacts with his unique body chemistry. When he was blasted by the new She Ra, a startling metamorphosis occurs. (Swift Wind)
Dude, where's Catra's, Scorpia's and Entrapta's Redemption Arcs?
Here's to hoping Disney puts as much effort into doing Lumberjanes and Nimona right as DreamWorks is putting into. She Ra. Also, how is it when Chuck Austen is doing Comics, he makes the worst X Men Run ever, but in cartoon shows, he's one of the producers of one of the best cartoons of the decade? Weird, huh?

I donât like real people who do evil things, but I love cartoon villains because theyâre nearly always portrayed as the Other. Itâs not just queercoding (though thereâs some of that), or neurodivergent coding (though thereâs some of that), or Women Who Are Sexy In The âBadâ Way (though thereâs some of that).Â
Cartoon villains are always, always, always the ones who get the short end of the straw. If the good guys always win, the bad guys always lose- often in humiliating and painful ways. and in a proper cartoon, said villain is likely to come back for at least one encore, because long-form narrative works that way.
Therefore the cartoon villain- whether theyâre in something that takes itself âseriouslyâ like Star Warsâ cartoons or something thatâs goofy as heck like OG Thundercats- the cartoon villain is always portrayed as someone who needs to be torn down; someone who deserves to be punished; someone that even our heroes of pure goodness and light can feel good about bullying.Â
sometimes it works. sometimes a show intended for kids, where the bad guys canât do anything that awful on screen, can make a vile villain that you want to see humiliated and destroyed. most DC comics villains, when written properly, fall into this category- you want to see lex luthor taken down a peg because heâs an egotistical snot who constantly hurts people to prove that heâs Better Than Superman; you want the joker to be destroyed because all he wants to do is hurt people and heâs having a grand old time doing it. Â
but if the authors* think that queer people deserve to be bullied, their cartoon villain will be a queer person humiliated over and over again. if the authors think that people who are too smart deserve to be bullied, their cartoon villain will be an intellectual who gets humiliated over and over again. if the authors think that women who are too sexual deserve to be bullied, their cartoon villain will be an overtly sexual woman who gets humiliated over and over again. and if the authors think that neurodivergent people deserve to be bullied, their cartoon villain will be a neurodivergent person humiliated over and over again.  Â
and because cartoon, often these traits are exaggerated and amplified-- to the point where a character whoâs a âvillainâ of this type is largely the traits that make them an acceptable target.Â
at the worst extreme, what you get is what @themysteriousmrenter calls Megward the Wizard: a character who exists to be the universeâs whipping boy. nothing can go right for this character, this character can never win or be happy, and anything they do, no matter how innocuous, will always lead to failure, misery, and humiliation. they might as well be living in their own private Idaho. even if you donât go that far, the cartoon villain is often coded as something marginalised because that makes them an acceptable target in the eyes of the writer. theyâre repeatedly humiliated and repeatedly fail, because theyâre ~insane~ or ~intellectual~ or ~gross (because they have disabilities)~ or ~obsessed with the hero (in a gay panic way)~.Â
as a person whoâs an acceptable target- someone whose neurotype is an insult, someone whose existence is treated as part of an âepidemicâ- societyâs prevailing narrative is that people like me deserve to be hurt, punished, and humiliated until we conform to the neurotypical standard of behaviour. and since i canât properly conform, there are plenty of people who decide that i specifically deserve to be hurt, bullied, and humiliated for my sin of being different.   Â
cartoon villains exist in a world where the primary narrative is that their existence is a blight on the world and they must be hurt and destroyed. if the show is more comedic, their âdestructionâ is often played for laughs; even in a more serious story, theyâre often bullied and humiliated by the heroes as part of their comeuppance. Â
that is why i like cartoon villains and why i often find them far more relatable than cartoon heroes, even though iâd rather help random strangers than blow up a planet. they are the people in the same crappy boat of societal disapproval. in their world, they are the person who is destined to be hurt because of what they are. most of the time, that makes them way more relatable and interesting to me than heroes who have societyâs full approval. Â
* âAuthorsâ is tricky when youâre talking about a TV show because thereâs always more than one writer, the actors portraying the character contribute to their portrayal, and Executive Meddling happens all the time. When I say âauthorsâ I mean âpeople in control of how the story is presented to the audienceâ, and for TV thatâs a whollle bunch of people.Â

Technology Isnât Always the Hero or the VillainâSometimes Itâs a Bit Player
We think of technology as the good guy or the bully. Itâs a silent partner in our work; and if things arenât going well, that uncooperative software platform often takes the wrap. My business revolves around digital initiatives. When people call me to discuss a new purchase, I ask lots of questions. During those conversations, I frequently discover that technology is only a bit player in aâŠ

Association 4.0âą â Find the Sweet Spot in Digital Markets
Is anyone else tired of dystopian predictions? Today, Iâm going to consider perfection. This may not be what most people imagine as utopia. But the realm of Association 4.0âą is pretty close to my ideal for my clients and their organizations. Several years ago, .orgSource coined the phrase Association 4.0 to describe the approach needed to succeed in the digital marketplace.  We were lookingâŠ
