HAUNTREE, TRUNCURSE, ARBOLLAHAN & Mega ARBOLLAHAN (Grass/Ghost)

HAUNTREE was born from a tree stump used as a chopping block for prisoner executions. It came to life when on the convicts soul possesed it. They sleep during the day disguised as regular stumps and wander the forest at night, looking for revenge.

HAUTREE is based on a tree stump and an execution block

TRUNCURSE was born from a tree under which a beheaded knight was buried with its head still missing. The knights restless spirit took possession of the tree and brought it to life, as a means to search for its missing head.

TRUNCURSE is based on Animated Armors present in all kind of fantasy media

ARBOLLAHAN was born from a tree that grew in the middle of a battlefield, feeding on the remains of both knights and steeds, becoming possessed by their spirits. It rides at night, absorbing the life force of all vegetation in its path, leaving a trail of dead trees. It is said that seeing one is an omen of death.

ARBOLLAHAN is based on the Dullahan from irish folklore, a Headless horseman often seen carrying a whip made from human spines and either a sword or axe. In some versions the horse it rides is also headless and in some it drives a carriage or hearse

After mega evolving, Mega ARBOLLAHAN looses its armor and weapons but becomes even more dangerous than before. Wherever it goes disaster and disease follows as it absorbs the life energy of anything it is path.

Mega ARBOLLAHAN is based in the Nuckelavee from scottish folklore, a horrible monster that looks like if a horse and its rider had fused, it has no skin leaving its muscles and sinews visible, as well as yellow vein fill with dark blood, it human head and arms are disproportionally large and it has fins on its horse legs, either the horse or human heads (or both) have a single giant eye.

WHEEL CHALLENGE DAY 6: MEGA SAWSBUCK

Another design that took a hot minute to make. I’m kind of okay with it, but adding the rock typing to this ‘mon made things a bit harder.

Def wanted to incorporate all forms of Sawsbuck into the mega, so four antlers with each season! I like to think that while it’s able to channel the power of the four seasons much easier in this form, the rocks that have grown and embedded themselves into it have made it more aggressive. Other than that, no real good lore for this guy.

Mega Musharna (Psychic/Fairy) Ability: Psychic Surge

Mega Mismagius (Ghost/Fire) Ability: Maybe a Fire version of Pixilate (call it Immolate lol)

Some Mega designs I did just for fun!! Musharna is designed to look like a crescent moon against a starry night sky, while Mismagius was intended to reincorporate some elements of Misdreavus, hence the hair!! Also vaguely inspired by a mix of banshees, witch trials, boiling cauldrons, exorcisms, and magician hat tricks

Not sure what type I'd make it? Maybe Fire/Fairy or Fire/Electric or something idk. Also I already have ideas on how I would maybe tackle this design a little differently so, maybe we'll see Mega Charizard Z 2 in the future

Roaming Larvitar are timid Pokémon who prefer to gather coins and other trinkets in peace, storing them in caves where they reside. Chest Pupitar are often disturbed by adventurers who mistake them for ancient chests of treasure deep in caverns, whom they irritably attack.

Aurelian Tyranitar aren't as fearsome as their purebred relatives, but they are known to trick trainers into befriending them only to steal any treasure for their hoard.

When mega evolved, Aurelian Tyranitar become consumed by their greed and obsession with treasure, and will stop at nothing to amass as much gold and valuables as they can.

NIGHTLY, HAWKTER, GENJAR (Dark/Flying) & Mega GENJAR (Dark/Fighting)

Convergent evolution line of GHASTLY, HAUNTER, GENGAR & Mega GENGAR.

They are nocturnal birds with the ability to imitate the cries of other pokemon, and even sounds made by humans, in order to attract unsuspecting prey into the dark forest and attack them by surprise.

They are mainly inspired by Nightjars, also known as nighthawks or frogmouths

GENJAR is also inspired in Owlbears from D&D

Mega GENJAR is based on the defensive posture owls will take when they feel threatened, ruffling their feathers and trying to look bigger and more intimidating

And that’s a wrap on the Pokémon Wheel Challenge! Wish I could’ve done it in a more timely manner but it was still so much fun!
