*Baps you. Baps you. Baps you. Baps y-*
Remember y'all. Caffeine is a stimulant. Stimulants typically have opposing affects on those with adhd. If a demigod drinks black coffee they ain't getting a burst of energy. At most they're going be able to focus their adhd more. Or just get tired and have heart palpitations.
Will is not staying up because of 100+ coffees. My man is awake out of determination and pure spite. The fact he hasn't snapped is a miracle.
Also. They're probably low on iron. Get those kids some supplements.

A Genuine Spiritual Master, The Competent Qualified Teacher (Sant Satguru) - Spiritual Awakening Radio, A Sant Mat Satsang Podcast
"The fruits of accepting a true master are immense. Unfortunately, true teachers are few and difficult to find... A spiritual master who is wise, pure and a practitioner of the Yoga of Divine Sound gradually imparts his or her virtues to the student. The good will of the spiritual teacher cannot but help affecting the aspirant in a positive manner because one is affected by the power of a higher vibration." My Ode to the Sant Satguru
In Praise of the Sant-soul of love
who has reached the Spiritual Realm above,
and merged in God.
Hail to the Competent Living Master,
the Qualified Teacher,
rare to find in this world,
so few and far between,
the True One,
a genuine mentor of souls,
righteous and worthy Guide,
a Fearless Being,
Light-giver,
leader of a spiritual community.
With gratitude to the Competent Living One!
In a Sea of Samsara -- illusion and world of changes,
of falsehood and posing,
there is a bright Light in the darkness.
A silent Music becomes audible.
At the feet of such a Loving, Radiant One,
the soul can not help but find inner Light and
slip into deep samadhi meditation.
In the eyes of a Saint are
love, wisdom, light, compassion, grace,
a reflection of God in this realm of the material plane.
The Master-Power connects the soul with the
Supreme Lord of Love.

Thought I could kickbox all the rage out of my system last night, but then the instructor (unwittingly) played that fucking Robin Thicke song from a decade ago and I woke up to incels running rampant on the internet, so I guess I’ll have to learn to live with the anger for a while longer.

if i finish writing my fic about chilchuck teaching marcille to knit it'll be over for you guys
#pickle pontificates#think about it. i found another extra that references magic warmups btw#that one had hair braiding meditation and hand gestures#but think about it. are knitting/crochet/various other needle arts not very repetitive meditative things???#wouldn't knitting be a great method of magic warmups in place of hair braiding???#marcille uses her hair for magic a couple times and it could be that it has inherently magical properties#but my theory is that hers is imbued with magic because she uses it for warmups all the time#so then it could follow that the resulting knitted items would be imbued with magical properties... dungeon rabbit resistant scarf anyone?#or a fireproof sweater?#why is chilchuck my chosen victim for the person to teach her? well. on my conspiracy wall over here you can see that chilchuck frequently#sits down to sew his clothes/equipment back together throughout canon. i think it's safe to say that he's canonically good at sewing#the only other characters who we see demonstrate similar abilities are mrs. tansu who is a beast at knitting and an icon#and falin. who carries sewing supplies in her equipment (smart) but has frankly atrocious stitching#as can be seen in the comic where she and laios offer to help put marcille's name on her stuff and it's illegible#mrs. tansu really has no relation to marcille#and although falin's bad sewing may have been due to her eyesight (which would no longer affect that) she is canonically also a bad teacher#i think she would try enthusiastically but i do not see it working out#so chilchuck it is.#a fic based around these concepts allows me to further these agendas:#marcille recovering from dungeon lord shenanigans with the help of her friends agenda#chilchuck engaging in reluctant dadly activities agenda#needle arts chilchuck agenda#and... the special bonus i would like to get to... chilchuck reuniting with his wife agenda#and wingman marcille agenda#AND contributing to the dunmeshi platonic fic agenda??? so many wins#there.#now all i gotta do is finish writing it. which is an issue because i have two school assignments due yesterday

While browsing for information on a particular Barbie, I was surprised to see Google recommend appending the word "controversy" to my search. The Barbie in question?
Breathe With Me Barbie. Breathe With Me Barbie is part of a range of self-care and wellness Barbies and depicts Barbie in a sukhasana pose, promising "5 guided meditations".
Unsure of where the controversy around this could be going, I clicked through. This seemed to be the root of it.
"Each pose is designed to invoke a Hindu deity in the spirit realm. I have seen children get possessed by demons. ... Satan is after the children. He wants to use them and indoctrinate them for his glory. Then, when he is done, he will destroy them. As your kids grow, they will get rebellious, depressed, and many will be suicidal. You won't understand what's happening as a parent. You must remove all toys and clean your children's room of all demonic attachments."
Various websites from Business Insider to The Christian Post to Newsweek cite Christian influencer (or, in the words of Business Insider, micro-influencer) Yasmeen Suri as being the origin of the claim that this doll is an agent of Satanism.
This would not be the first person to associate yoga with Satanism or possession - exorcist Gabriele Amorth also associated the practice of yoga with increased chance of demonic possession.
I can't find a screenshot of this, though, and all links back to the Facebook post are dead. What I did find though is a Patheos satire article dated shortly before the rest of these articles citing "Jasmine Blades" from Christians Against Eastern Religions as the source of the same quote.
Neither Christians Against Eastern Religions or Jasmine Blades are real, of course, hence their inclusion in a clearly marked satire piece. But I don't know where this leaves real Christian influencer Yasmeen Suri and her alleged (re)posting of the same quote picking up steam a week later. I don't know whether she saw the satire post and reposted the quote, to take it down later once she realised, or whether these articles quoting her as the source are misattributions. I'm leaning to the former, but I'm not actually sure.
There's a Truth or Fiction page debunking this, but what it is debunking is a) whether Breathe With Me Barbie depicts the practice of yoga (it depicts meditation, not yoga), b) whether this was a new doll in 2022 (it was not, it was released in 2020), c) whether yoga is synonymous with Hinduism and d) whether Catholicism or Christianity more generally prohibit or warn against the practice of yoga as a matter of doctrine.
For the record, by the way, there are Barbies that are explicitly depicted as practicing yoga, such as I Can Be... Yoga Teacher Barbie.
Or that appear to depict the practice of yoga on the box art, such as the Made to Move series.
Or dolls such as this Fitness Barbie who is depicted with various fitness equipment such as weights and a hula hoop, as well as a yoga mat.

The Journey of Practicing Kindness Toward Ourselves
In an effort to stay more connected to myself and the universe, and to keep striving toward some kind of enlightenment, I've recently been diving into the practice of yoga. And honestly, I’ve been so ignorant about what yoga really is for a while now. I used to work with some yogis and, like a lot of people, I assumed it was all about the poses (aka asanas) and cool stretches. But turns out, that’s only a small piece of the overall practice of yoga.
What I’ve come to learn is that yoga is rooted in an entire philosophy called Ashtanga Yoga, and it’s got so much depth. Ashtanga Yoga is actually made up of 8 limbs (or branches), each offering different ways to live more mindfully and harmoniously. Here’s a quick rundown of the 8 limbs:
Yamas (moral restraints)
Niyamas (personal observances)
Asanas (postures, the physical poses we often associate with yoga)
Pranayama (breath control)
Pratyahara (withdrawal of the senses)
Dharana (concentration)
Dhyana (meditation)
Samadhi (a state of unity or enlightenment)
Pretty cool, right? So, it all starts with the Yamas, which are basically guidelines on how to live ethically in relation to others and the world around us. There are five yamas, and they’re like the foundation of a peaceful and intentional life.
The first yama is Ahimsa, which means non-violence or non-harming. This one really caught my attention, especially as I’m learning more about it. Ahimsa is often the starting point for deeper practices because, on the surface, it’s about avoiding physical violence. That’s the most obvious interpretation—don’t harm others physically. Simple enough, right?
But yoga asks us to dig deeper into what non-violence really means. It’s not just about not getting into fistfights (hopefully that’s a given!). Ahimsa also applies to our words and thoughts. It invites us to consider how we talk to and about others, how we react, and how we think about all living beings—including animals, insects, plants, and even the environment. Every living thing has a soul in yoga, and the goal is to cause as little harm as possible in all our interactions.
One thing I found really interesting during my study of Ahimsa was that, while we talked about all these layers of non-violence, there wasn’t much emphasis on self-violence. And that’s a big one, right? Because how many of us go through life treating others kindly but not necessarily doing the same for ourselves? The words and thoughts we direct at ourselves can be just as harmful as anything we might say to others.
The teacher mentioned that the ultimate benefit of practicing Ahimsa is that when you truly embody it, all enmity around you begins to dissolve. But here’s the thing—how can we hope to radiate that kind of peaceful energy outward if we’re not starting with ourselves?
For me, a big takeaway is that if you’re new to practicing Ahimsa (like I am), a great place to begin is with yourself. If you’re anything like me, you might already see yourself as a non-violent person. But I had to pause and ask myself: What am I saying about myself? What am I thinking about myself? And what actions am I taking that might be harmful to me?
I think sometimes we underestimate the power of our self-talk. The unconscious mind doesn’t get sarcasm or “just kidding” jokes—it takes everything literally. So all those little moments of self-deprecation or criticism? They add up. Today, I’m committing to be more intentional about practicing Ahimsa toward myself. That means being kinder in how I think about myself, speak about myself, and take care of myself.
And I encourage you to do the same! If you’ve got any ways you’re already practicing Ahimsa toward yourself, I’d love to hear them. Let’s share and keep lifting each other up.

Lost in Zen: Navigating the Path to Inner Peace
Introduction
In today's fast-paced world, where chaos and distractions seem to be the norm, finding inner peace has become a coveted goal for many. The journey to inner peace often leads individuals to explore various practices and philosophies. One such path is the practice of Zen Buddhism, which offers a unique and profound way to navigate the complexities of life while seeking tranquility. In this blog, we'll delve into the concept of being "Lost in Zen" and how it can guide us towards a more peaceful existence.
Understanding Zen
Zen is a branch of Mahayana Buddhism that originated in China and later spread to Japan, where it became most prominent. At its core, Zen is about direct experience and intuitive understanding rather than relying on conventional knowledge or intellectual concepts. It emphasizes the importance of meditation, mindfulness, and living in the present moment to achieve enlightenment or "Satori."
The Paradox of Being Lost in Zen
Being "Lost in Zen" might initially sound counterintuitive. After all, we often associate being lost with confusion and disorientation. However, in the context of Zen, it means letting go of the mental clutter and distractions that keep us disconnected from our true selves and the present moment. Zen encourages us to lose ourselves in the moment, shedding the ego, and experiencing reality as it is, unfiltered.
Key Principles of Zen
Mindfulness: Zen teaches us to cultivate mindfulness, the practice of paying full attention to the present moment without judgment. By doing so, we can break free from the constant mental chatter and worries that often plague our minds.
Meditation: Meditation is a cornerstone of Zen practice. Through meditation, we learn to quiet our minds and observe our thoughts and emotions without attachment. This leads to greater self-awareness and a deeper connection with our inner selves.
Simplicity: Zen advocates for a minimalist and simple lifestyle. By decluttering our physical space and simplifying our lives, we create a conducive environment for inner peace to flourish.
Non-attachment: Zen teaches us to let go of attachments to material possessions, desires, and even our own self-concept. By relinquishing our clinging nature, we free ourselves from suffering and experience greater equanimity.
Practical Steps to Get "Lost in Zen"
Start with meditation: Begin a regular meditation practice to quiet your mind and connect with your inner self. Even a few minutes each day can make a significant difference.
Embrace mindfulness: Practice mindfulness in your daily activities. Pay attention to your breath, the sensations in your body, and the sights and sounds around you as you go about your day.
Simplify your life: Declutter your living space and let go of unnecessary possessions. Simplifying your life can lead to greater mental clarity and a sense of liberation.
Let go of attachments: Reflect on your attachments and desires. Are there things or ideas you're clinging to that cause suffering? Practice letting go and accepting things as they are.
Seek guidance: Consider joining a Zen meditation group or seeking guidance from a Zen teacher. Learning from experienced practitioners can deepen your understanding and practice.
Conclusion
Being "Lost in Zen" isn't about losing your way in life; it's about losing the distractions and attachments that keep you from experiencing true peace and clarity. By embracing the principles of Zen—mindfulness, meditation, simplicity, and non-attachment—you can embark on a transformative journey toward inner peace. Remember, the path to Zen is a lifelong journey, and each step brings you closer to a more meaningful and tranquil existence in our hectic world.
