Hello my love can you do a spencer reid x reader who experiences olfactory hallucinations (smelling things that arent there) please i just scared the shit out of myself cus i smelled a burning power outlet for like an hour 😭 the whole time i was unplugging everything and i thought my house was going to catch on fire 😰 i want him
𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐮𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬- 𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐫 𝐫𝐞𝐢𝐝 𝐱 𝐟𝐞𝐦!𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫
𝐬𝐲𝐧𝐨𝐩𝐬𝐢𝐬 you experience olfactory hallucinations and spencer’s there to experience the rollercoaster that come with it lol
𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 fem!reader, established relationship, just a lot of fluff, allergies (ugh), reader is freaking out (anxiety), me pretending to be science-y and act like i know what im writing about!
𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐝 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭 1.2k
𝐚𝐮𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐞 i actually loved this request because I myself experience olfactory hallucinations due to my allergies and it’s really cool seeing someone else who has it! i unfortunately smell a wide varieties of things such as spoiled food, clogged toilets (yay!), and tobacco (love that for me)
𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐫 𝐫𝐞𝐢𝐝 𝐦𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐭 | 𝐦𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐦𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐭
You rubbed your right eye vigorously, sniffling loudly with a following groan. Your hand then fell to its familiar rhythm, writing down your notes as you tried copiously to ignore the stuffiness that enclosed throughout your throat and nose. Your face itched gratingly, the corners of your eyes running with tears that wouldn’t seem to leave no matter how many times you tried blinking them away.
You had taken your allergy medication about thirty minutes ago and it wasn’t easing up— you felt puffy and somewhat aggravated.
Your T-shirt hung around your hips loosely, bunched up onto the chair you sat on at the desk of Spencer’s apartment, completing an assignment you needed to get done for your current job. Your hair was damp, ends still wet from the shower you had taken to decompress your sinuses.
You suddenly stopped all together, mind running blank. Twisting around in your chair, you turned to the kitchen and lifted your chin, staring down the ambience as if it was looking right back at you. What was that smell?
It was smokey and acrid and rotten and— definitely not supposed to be floating around the apartment. Unless something was wrong, you thought. You stood quickly, bare legs meeting the cold air as you patted over to the kitchen.
Your eyes scanned it frantically, checking for any signs of smoke or if any of the gas burners were on. Your heart was beating gratingly against your ears. The silence was so heavy you were beginning to feel dizzy. It was the type of quiet that made your skin crawl all the way up to the nape of your neck.
You sniffed again, trying to make sure you hadn’t hallucinated smelling what you had but much to your dismay— it still smelled like something was burning.
You hastily made your way to the desk, grabbing your phone and opening your contact list. It was only a few passing beeps from the other line before a voice rang out. “Hello?”
“Spence,” Your boyfriend picked up on your tone quicker than you would’ve preferred.
“Hey,” He said, sounding like he was reassuring you that he was there, voice soft although he didn’t necessarily know what had made you so distressed in the first place. “What’s wrong? Are you okay?”
“Yes, I’m okay.” You tucked a strand of hair behind your ears shamefully, glancing over at the kitchen.
“I’m pulling into the driveway right now, what’s going on?”
You bit the flesh of your bottom lip, making your way back into the kitchen. “Did you leave any of the burners on? Or plugged in anything you maybe— shouldn’t have..?”
Spencer paused on the other line, almost in profound contemplation. “No. I didn’t, why?”
“Because it smells like something is burning Spence,” You reached at the small handles of the ovens burners, rotating them all to signal they were off. “Are you sure you didn’t leave anything in?”
“I’m positive,” Somehow he could practically feel your hesitation, so he continued. “Baby, I have an eidetic memory. I would’ve remembered leaving something on,”
You huffed, still not entirely convinced because the smell was right there. It wasn’t strong, which caused even more anxiety to swirl inside of you, but it was there. The sound of a car door slamming shut was heard on the other end of the phone. “I’m freaking out,”
“I’m getting into the elevator, I’ll be up in a few seconds,” You paused.
A few rather long seconds later, the door pushed open. Spencer glanced at the handle, brows furrowed in annoyance. “It’s not locked— Why isn’t this locked?”
Your habit with leaving doors open was a problem, but it currently wasn’t your biggest. The strong smell still floated around, dancing through your nose and torturing you slowly. “Screw the door, do you not smell that?!”
Spencer closed the door behind him and set his bag down, along with his shoes. You watched him from the kitchen, crossing your arms across yourself and hugging your body closely.
“Where is the smell?” He stalked over towards the kitchen. His eyes lingered on the sight of you wearing nothing more than a t-shirt. It was something he didn’t think he’d ever get used to.
“I don’t know where it’s coming from,” You griped. Spencer really tried to find where the smell was coming, only so that he could ease you from your anxiety, but he really didn’t smell anything.
“I don’t smell anything love,” He reassured, looking over towards the stove just to be absolutely, positively sure.
“How do you not–?” You stopped, face falling from its tightened up expression. A relief unlike any other fell over you the second you understood what was going on.
“I’m–” You rubbed your temples, letting out a breathy laugh. “I’m an idiot,”
Spencer furrowed his brows, quickly walking beside you and setting a very much needed and comforting hand on your shoulder. “What?”
You remain quiet, reaching out and wrapping your arms around his torso and burying your face into his chest. Spencer stood there, muddled by your behavior but nevertheless happy to oblige with whatever you deemed necessary to feel better. He wrapped his arms around you, rubbing a few soothing circles onto your back.
“Yeah, I get olfactory hallucinations,” You trailed off, resting your cheek on his chest and not yet looking up at him.
“Phantosmia?” He quipped. You pulled away, looking up at him inquiringly.
“Huh?”
“Phantosmia,” He shifted his arms down to your waist. “It’s a sensory perception disorder where people experience smelling odors that aren't present in their environment. Unlike actual smells, which are triggered by external stimuli interacting with the olfactory receptors in the nose, phantosmia originates internally within the brain.”
You pulled a face. “Well, I call them olfactory hallucinations.”
“Well, medically they’re called phantosmia.” He countered. You narrowed your eyes as he tucked a strand of damp hair behind your ear.
“Show off.”
He huffed out a laugh. “I thought you liked it when I talked a lot.”
You hummed. “Yeah, that's true”
Unfortunately, you got olfactory hallucinations– or phantosmia– often. And it should’ve been the first thing you recalled once Spencer was denying any smells of burning outlets and gas. It always simultaneously flared up when your allergies did, meaning you probably should’ve known better— definitely would’ve saved you the near heart attack.
Spencer dragged his hand up and down your waist instinctively while you poked a finger into the rough surface of his chest “Got some more info for me smart-ass?”
Spencer gave you a look, rolling his eyes at your ridiculous giddy grin. “It isn’t very common. When it comes to disorders that affect the sense of smell, phantosmia makes up 10% to 20% of cases.”
“Well that makes me feel unique.”
Spencer bit back the need to tell you that you were already unique, but he referred against it. Not because he didn't want to— he always wanted to. But he knew he spent every single chance he could get to telling you how special you genuinely were to him.
“For some people, the odors that they hallucinate are pleasant, like freshly baked sweets—“
“You're joking,” He shook his head. You huffed, drawing your lips into a pout. “Do you know what I'd give to smell that instead of a goddamn burning outlet— it gives me anxiety.”
“Yeah, but look on the bright side,” Spencer leaned forward kissing your forehead. You basked in the simplicity and loveliness of his touch. “At least there wasn’t actually a burning outlet.”
“Yeah,” You smiled up at him. “That's true.”

i keep thinking about the paintings
frank had to fight bill just to get gas for the lawnmower in the beginning. he needed an outlet. he needed to care for his space and make it his. bill didn’t understand that, but he bent, just a little
a few years later, we see the strawberries. trust, friends. growth
a decade later, in their final scenes, we see frank’s painting supplies. i’d guess fine art supplies--paints, brushes, palette, canvas--would be fairly difficult to find by that point, as they definitely wouldn’t have been things bill thought to hoard in his first few years. so they’d need to be traded for; resources of some kind would have to be sacrificed. but frank’s abilities were changing and he needed them, not in the strictest sense of the word need, not like medication, certainly not in bill’s old definition of the word need, but definitely in the new one that frank taught him--that living is more than just survival
and what strikes me most is the number of times bill clearly sat for frank. we see portrait after portrait of bill. he gave frank their most precious resource. he gave him time, willingly and generously
just one more way that bill learned to love frank the way frank needed him to

Jeff Goldblum warning us in Jurassic Park that cloning dinosaurs is raping mother nature was apparently an instruction manual and not a warning.
"Colossal Biosciences, a biotechnology company founded in 2021, is working to genetically resurrect the woolly mammoth by combining its genes with Asian elephant DNA. The company's goal is to create a hybrid species, called a "mammophant", that will look and behave like a woolly mammoth. Colossal plans to use cloning techniques similar to those used to create Dolly the sheep in 1996, inserting genetically edited cells into an elephant egg that would then be gestated by a surrogate elephant. The company has said it intends to complete the project by 2027."
Exploitative KKKapitalism = Eating like 💩 in the neighborhood! "Studies have shown that the prevalence of fast-food restaurants is positively correlated with the percentage of Black residents in urban neighborhoods in the U.S. Similar trends have been found for liquor stores."
$Anything for a Dollar$
"While dollar stores can fill a need in low-income neighborhoods, they are often regarded as predatory businesses that harm communities more than they benefit them, due to very low wages, displacing other grocery options while failing to sell fresh food, store design that increases the rate of armed robberies, and OSHA and FDA violations that put customers and employees at risk."
Who Needs Fresh Food?
"There are no fresh vegetables, fruits, or meats in most dollar stores. And yet, as limited as their offerings are, dollar stores are now feeding more Americans than Whole Foods is, and they’re multiplying rapidly. Since 2011, the number of dollar stores nationwide has climbed from about 20,000 to nearly 30,000. There are now more dollar stores than Walmart and McDonalds locations combined."
Dollar Tree Customers = Permanent Underclass
"In their latest annual reports, Dollar General and Dollar Tree say they have identified thousands of new locations for dollar stores. The two chains are planning to expand their combined empires to more 50,000 outlets."
“Essentially what the dollar stores are betting on in a large way is that we are going to have a permanent underclass in America,” Garrick Brown, a researcher with the commercial real estate firm Cushman & Wakefield, told Bloomberg last year.
“The economy is continuing to create more of our core customer,” Dollar General chief executive Todd Vasos told investors last year.
"More than one-third of American adults, and 48 percent of African American adults, are obese."
13% of the US population is Black, and 48% of Black Americans are obese.
"Look at the pharmaceutical companies. In my neighborhood, there is a fast-food restaurant on every block, from Wendy’s to Kentucky Fried Chicken to Popeye’s to Little Caesar’s Pizza. Now drugstores are popping up on every corner, too. So you have the fast-food restaurants that of course cause the diet-related diseases, and you have the pharmaceutical companies there to fix it."
"If you give people access to really good food and a living-wage job, someone is going to lose money. As long as people are poor and as long as people are sick, there are jobs to be made. Follow the money."
"I talk about power, and how power is a drug and power over people is a drug and it’s hard to give up."
"A substantial body of evidence indicates that diet, toxic metals, food additives, insufficient nutrients, food allergy, lack of exercise can all contribute to criminal behavior. Evidence is mounting that a good diet makes a positive difference when working with some offenders."
"Our estimates imply that the 42% drop in the natural gas price in the late 2000s, mostly driven by the shale gas boom, averted 12,500 deaths per year in the United States."
"Participants (60.55%) experienced unexpected or increased medical expenses (17.69%), job loss (13.64%), pay reduction (11.85%), and death of a family member (9.09%). Pay reduction and increased debt were associated with moderate hunger; death of a family member, pay reduction, and increased debt were associated with severe hunger."
Lung Cancer to Avoid Severe Hunger
"In unadjusted models, annual household income <$15,000, non-urban residence, lack of health insurance, unstable housing, heavier food pantry reliance, fair or poor adult health, adult anxiety, and adult smoking to reduce hunger pangs were all positively associated with VLFS-C."
Fast Food = Fast Death
"Survey respondents had 8 ± 7 fast-food outlets within 2 miles of their home. Individuals living in close proximity to fast-food restaurants had higher BMIs, and lower fruit and vegetable consumption."
Happy Meal = Psychiatric Distress & Violence
"Consumption of fast food has been linked to psychiatric distress, violent behaviors, and impulsivity in adolescents."
"The analysis found that liquor stores are disproportionately located in predominantly black neighborhoods, even after controlling for census tract socioeconomic status."
"At equal levels of poverty, Black neighborhoods had the fewest supermarkets."

How have you been? Are you taking care of yourself and is the kitties doing okay and Haru how is the sweetie after the surgery?
Throughout the month of October while doubling my content output and going from being creatively idle to full speed ahead, I was going through the onboarding process of my ADHD medication. Half of the month was spent getting horribly tired in the afternoons. The other half was spent feeling gross as I tried to figure out how much I needed to eat with my food and adjusting to the final dosage.
Last week, for what may be the first time in my adult life, I was operating at what I can only assume was somewhere near 100% of what a neurotypical person feels like. I've cried about it, had to learn how to slow down because I'm used to the vehicle that is my brain not actually GOING when I put my foot on the gas, and have felt downright incredible.
I wrote my psychiatrist a message thanking her for being such a professional and helping me on this path, because I am approaching what I had assumed "best case scenario" would look like for me. I don't even know what's possible for me as I settle into my new normal. It's overwhelming in a positive way.
I feel like I have super powers. I'm able to just...do stuff. I begin my day and I just go. I'm fed, medicated, and ready to start being productive at 9am and I begin. I'm able to accomplish far more than the bare minimum and even have to tell myself to take time to do things that aren't strictly work.
I love writing again, and I was robbed of that nearly a decade ago. My beloved hobby became work, and while I've written things that I adore, I only rarely feel the magic I used to feel when I could write ~10k words in a day. INDEFINITELY!!!! I have written hundreds of thousands of words in my lifetime and I lost the ability to do what I loved. At a time in my life when I was desperate to find something that was meant for me, something I was good at, I lost it.
I thought I had simply fallen out of love. I thought my childish ambitions of being a writer were bled from me on the path to being a "real adult" and life had escorted me along the way, away from that passion.
I didn't know I was fighting against myself so much for so long. Being able to become YuuriVoice and create and find that outlet again was amazing for me and reminded me of what it used to feel like, but this whole time I've had to brute force my way through mental hurdles. I am proud of what I've accomplished to this point, knowing what challenges I've faced and battled along the way.
How do I feel? I feel like the me from a decade ago and the me of today bridged a rift so vast that I thought I'd never say hello to that part of me again, and now I'm whole. I feel whole. I'm no longer masquerading around as a cheap imitation of who I could have been.
So yeah, I'd say I'm doing well! So are the cats. Haru handled his neutering perfectly and is a happy, healthy boy. Aside from that, I've been consistently in the gym, trying to stick to my diet goals, and am the happiest, healthiest version of myself I've been in a long time!
If you've enjoyed the recent entries in Lost & Found, they've all be made while I've been feeling this good. So if that's a sign of things to come, I think we're about to remind people just how fuckin' hard we can go around these parts.

Longtime lurker, hoping you can help me out.
I'd like to purchase a gas mask that is available for say...under $200-300...and compatible with aiming a rifle?
Can you suggest a couple of models that are affordable and easily obtainable?
I'm also (seperately) looking for a low cost self-contained (battery driven supllied air) full-face respirator for painting or spaying pesticides but the cost of the 3M system has kept me from taking the plunge. I find half masks or disposables really uncomfortable to breath through. Any suggestions?
That depends on a lot of things - let's start with the most important one, are you wanting to buy new or are you experienced enough to know what to look out for with surplus items?
Assuming you live in the U.S., imo the best option for most tactically-inclined individuals are ex-police Avon C50's; They sit smack dab in the middle of the pricepoint you described (going for $250+ on average) and they meet 80% of the criteria for what I personally believe a modern "tactical" mask (not just military) should encompass:
Panoramic eyelens with a wide ecosystem of lens outserts
Optical insert capability
Comms and/or Voice Amplifier-Capable
Mesh skullcap-type head harness with low-profile buckles for helmet integration
Butyl rubber and glass-filled nylon construction
Common, standardized drinking adapter
Threaded for Rd40x1/7" NATO Canisters for greater flexibility of protection (i.e.; using canisters intended for specific threats instead of just general purpose CBRN)
Left and right-hand capable side ports
Interchangeable inner nosecups for custom sizing based on individual facial ergonomics The only thing it really lags behind in is having poor passive voice communication (no voice diaphragm, just the outlet valve), as well as poor moisture drainage (you will have to lean forward to drain any sweat, spit, etc out the outlet valve rather than it draining naturally)
All gas masks are generally going to put you at a disadvantage as far as aiming a rifle, and even masks designed for improved rifle ergonomics like the Avon FM53/54 still give a massive amount of stand-off when attempting to look down your sights, so I'd definitely hop on the bandwagon of tall optic risers if gas mask usage is a legitimate consideration.
Other excellent surplus options include the older Avon FM12, Scott/Kemira M/95 (or more realistically, the Scott M110 if you can find them; the M/95's drinking system is hard to get adapters for), or even MSA Millennium or surplus M40A1 Protective Masks are all viable options with a fair amount of aftermarket support. As far as buying newly-manufactured masks, you're going to be cutting above the $300 mark - Avon sells their C50 (and FM50, which is the same but with proprietary cartridges) at an MSRP of $500
Mira Safety is a brand you've likely heard of, who are mostly known as a redistributor of gas masks manufactured for them by Czech firm Gumarny Zubri. Mira as a company is incredibly underhanded and shady - they make a lot of false claims about who they sell to and the capability of their products, and not to mention their ad campaigns are the most blatantly mudslinging/misinformed.
Objectively the only thing that Mira/GuZu masks really shine at is having slightly higher quality rubber and superior passive voice comms and downward moisture drainage over Avon designs. They fail at basically every other aspect. However, they do work and they are cheaper if buying brand-new masks is a requirement for you.
I sadly don't have many suggestions as far as commercial/industrial PAPR units - I know a lot of those are surplussed by the pharmaceutical/medical industry, so I'd browse options, get to know them and spend time obsessively browsing ebay for various models and knowing how to tell when they're complete and serviceable.
Oh and one last thing -
P3-rated Particulate Filters are your best friend if all you realistically expect to face off against is tear gas and nuisance dusts. Particulate filters don't really expire since there's basically no chemicals that break down and can be stored almost indefinitely provided there's no moisture to foul the filter element.
40mm threaded P3 cartridges made by 3M, Racal, MSA etc are super common on the industrial surplus market and can be had in bulk for reasonably cheap, especially as "expired" lots.

Trans people are oppressed yet riot when a woman tries to protect minors from irreversible treatments and surgeries. 🤦🏻♀️
Trans activists violently attempted to siege Mexico City’s Congress on Tuesday after an initiative was introduced to ban minors from accessing “gender affirming” surgery.
The initiative was first introduced by América Rangel, a representative from the conservative National Action Party (PAN), on February 9, and sought to both prohibit the interventions as well as punish medical providers who do not comply with the law.
Rangel is alleged to have been the target of the activist aggression, posting that she believed the activists were specifically attempting to get to her.
In disturbing footage circulated on Twitter from both inside and outside of the House of Congress, a hoard of screaming trans activists were seen smashing their way into the historic building by beating and breaking the glass window panels open. The building was further insulated by decorative cage-style doors which had been locked shut, but the activists managed to dislodge several of the bars and create a pathway for them to enter.
Victoria Sámano, a trans-identified male who had been directing the protest, was the first to jump through the entry, pushing his way through the security guards trying to defend the building and getting into a physical altercation with some of them. Other activists quickly followed Sámano’s lead, and began forcing their way through the passage they had created in the bars.
Once inside the building, more damage was done as the activists painted graffiti on the walls and destroyed windows. Activists got as close to their target as the doors of the Congressional hall, but were blocked by security personnel.
The protest was ultimately quelled by riot police, who responded to the scene and used fire extinguishing gas to disperse the activists.
Sámano took to Twitter and uploaded a video of himself complaining that the guards had fought back, and suggesting that the activists had simply been peacefully demonstrating for their rights when they were brutally attacked without reason.
“We were only demanding our rights and they started beating us, they hit me in the legs. Here are the marks of how they beat me for this city. [Representatives] are more important than trans people,” he says in the video.
According to some Mexican news outlets, the parliamentary coordinator for Morena, the left-wing governing party, has assured protestors that their deputies do not plan to file a criminal complaint for the damages caused to the building.
But, dissatisfied with the response from the Congress, América Rangel has filed her own report with the Prosecutor General’s Office of Mexico yesterday.
In a video uploaded to Twitter, Rangel said she had filed a criminal complaint against the demonstrators who sieged the Congress.
“I have just filed criminal complaints against the people who assaulted the Congress of Mexico City and tried to attack me,” Rangel said in her video. “Specifically, [I] have precisely identified three people, of whom we have already given all the evidence to the Prosecutor’s Office. We also request that the investigation be carried out to find the others. We hope that the authority does its job and does not cover up if there are people from Morena behind all this. There can be nothing and no one above the law.”
Trans activists in Mexico are known for being particularly aggressive and staging aggressive or hostile demonstrations against those they disagree with.
In July of 2022, a transgender politician violently disrupted a government conference aimed at tackling human trafficking after becoming offended at the implications abolitionist policies would have on trans “sex workers.”
Maria Clemente, a trans-identified male politician elected to Mexico’s Chamber of Deputies last year, called the suggestion that the sex trade be abolished for the protection of women and children “hate speech.” To a critic, Clemente said: “I am a woman, and I am a whore! It’s my job and and how my family eats! I love it!”
Clemente was later exposed for having allegedly lied about being in the sex trade after his ex-husband issued a scathing rebuttal of his public persona in a public letter he posted in an effort to demand Clemente finalize their divorce.
Months later, trans activists at the National Autonomous University of Mexico staged a “coup” of one of the women’s washrooms on the campus in apparent retaliation for a lesbian pride mural having been painted nearby.
The activists claimed the mural made them feel “unsafe” and demanded another gender neutral washroom be established near the Samuel Ramos Library. Less than 24 hours later, the activists took over the largest women’s restroom in the building, littering the walls with threatening vandalism directed at women who are critical of gender ideology.

Ah yes, an 🦅🇺🇸🦅American 🦅🦅🇺🇸person who saw 2 TikToks and read one (1) article tells me, an actual Israeli to get educated,,,
About my country,,,
Do you really think you have a proper grasp about one of the most complicated geopolitical conflicts, just cuz you read something online???
Are you really arguing with me about my reality, saying Im brainwashed when I tell you you’re wrong???
Get over yourself , read anything other than Hamas’ propaganda and touch some grass.
Also, stop telling me there’s no proof when Hamas literally live streamed their massacre…
But Hamas are innocent and brave freedom fighters 🥹🥹🥹🥹
Nope. They’re literally ***a globally recognised terror organisation**** - kinda weird to support them …
You’re telling me that Hamas are innocent fighters fighters while People I know are dead.
“Prove it. You’re making things up. “
Nope. That’s what Hamas is doing! Here are a few sources:
*official statements & video evidence released by the Israeli government.
*the IDF’s spokesperson & official video evidence
* “survived to tell”- A civilian campaign on social medias, where survivors of the October 7th massacre tell their story.
*coroner reports and examinations.
*****
Since the first hours of the October 7th attack , survivors and victims called the news stations and posted pictures and videos. Some were later interviewed by the news…
*police and EMT body cams.
*footage released / streamed by Hamas themselves.
*Research done by western media news outlets.
But you would rather believe Hamas ? Mmkay.
If you haven’t spoken up about any other crisis the Palestinians people have faced- You don’t care about the Palestinians, you care about sounding woke& harassing Jews and Israelis.
Where were you when more than 4000 Palestinians refugees were murdered camp by Syria?
When Lebanon banned Palestinians from certain jobs& owning land?
When Hamas prevented medical aid and stole gas from UNRWA?
When over 800 misfired rockets aimed at Israel, ended up falling within Gaza?
They literally store ammunitions and shoot rockets from schools , mosques and youth centres.
When approximately 850,000 Palestinians were displaced due to the Syrian civil war?
When Jordan & Egypt refuse to accept Palestinian refugees? Btw, Egypt has its own blockade as well…
But I support human rights🥹🥺 only the Palestinians are suffering , the Israelis deserve this
*israeli Women were raped as an act of war& terrorism - and suddenly every single women’s rights is silent.
* saying civilians deserve this since they are Israeli ,is a messed up logic and a sense of reality.
*look around- how how much anti- Semitic posts and slurs do you see? Are the protests you go to peaceful?
An elderly man was literally killed in one of those protests. But it’s fine since he’s Jewish & supports Israel… 🤦♀️
**********
I could go on, but I think I’ve made my point. There’s video evidence for everything I wrote here, stop believing Hamas’ lies.

“It’s important to note that, as an organization and specialty guided by evidence, the Society’s stance on this issue has remained consistent: More high-quality research in this rapidly evolving area of healthcare is needed. To that end, ASPS efforts in this area include capturing clinical data on gender surgery procedures for adults and the development of practice resources to better aid members in implementing best practices in offering gender-surgery services when higher quality evidence is available. ASPS supports transgender patients’ constitutional protections and right to dignity, privacy and humane medical care. Further, it has always been the Society’s position that members should be able to provide medical care without fear of government-sanctioned penalties and criminalization – and ASPS opposes any attempts at legal encroachment into the practice of medicine.”
as right wing new outlets spread information like wildfire, it is important to hear from the source what is actually happening
the ASPS did not break consensus. the ASPS continues to support the right for trans patients to have the utmost care and informed consent, and opposes any political attempts to encroach on those rights.
erin details further that the need for more high-quality research is in regards GAS for minors, and states, 'Given how incredibly rare these surgeries are, it should not be surprising that such trials have not been conducted'. the vast vast majority of GAS on minors is done on cisgender minors, not to mention genital surgeries performed on intersex children and babies. while we absolutely should strive for more and more research and strengthened consensus to be done for trans minors, this same effort must also be made for cis and intersex minors as well.

Today is June 4, the day of mourning for the CIA & capitalism. 1989 was the year when the USSR started to collapse. If only China could be swept under that wave, the globalists’ dream of world domination would come to fruition! Hence the Tiananmen Square protests!
Just like any Color Revolution, all the usual suspects were involved — George Soros, CIA, Western media propaganda, and some pro-US leadership within China. On the ground were mostly innocent students and workers, who had no idea what was happening. They wanted economic and political reforms but not Western-style democracy. They were mostly pro-Mao, pro-socialism, pro-police, pro-military etc. The police were unarmed -- didn't even have batons. Because nobody expected any trouble.
By the way, the gathering wouldn't even have happened. But fate would deal China a bad card. A famous reformer, Hu Yaobang -- Chairman & General Secretary of the CCP -- died on April 15, 1989. He was loved by young Chinese people, who then gathered at the Tiananmen Square to mourn his death. That was the perfect opportunity the USA was waiting for! Thus, on April 20, 1989 – five days after Yaobang’s death – James Lilley was appointed as the US Ambassador to China. He was a 30-year veteran from the CIA. But you can't start a revolution in a week. Since 1986, George Soros had already spent over $1 million cultivating a sizeable number of young radicals. Now, these useful idiots infiltrated the mourning crowd at the Tiananmen Square and transformed it into an American movement.
It took the Chinese government one month to realize that shenanigans were happening. For example, BBC and Voice of America (CIA outlet) were broadcasting all kinds of anti-communist propaganda from Taiwan and Hong Kong. So, a martial law was passed on May 20, asking the people to end the gathering. That's when the provocateurs started the violence. They kept escalating.
Armed with guns, Molotov cocktails etc., the saboteurs violently attacked and killed 100+ police and soldiers. Chinese police, at the time, had no crowd-control tools like tear gas. They didn't even have guns. Thus, the police got beaten up by the mobs. This is why Beijing had to send in military gear, whose sole purpose was to scare people. The military let the people destroy tanks, armored vehicles etc. If the communist party were so tyrannical, none of this would have happened.
Here is the crux of the matter: There was no "Tiananmen Square massacre"! All the Western Presstitutes who were later forced/bribed to lie had different narratives for a long time: Like, Miles from BBC, Kristof from the NY Times, and Roth from CBS News:
"I was one of the foreign journalists who witnessed the events that night. There was no massacre on Tiananmen Square" — BBC
"State television has even shown film of students marching peacefully away from the [Tiananmen] square shortly after dawn as proof that they [protesters] were not slaughtered” — NY Times
"The military came, negotiated with the students and made everyone (including himself) leave peacefully; and that nobody died in the square" — Reuters
"We saw no bodies, injured people, ambulances or medical personnel — in short, nothing to even suggest, let alone prove, that a “massacre” had occurred in Tiananmen Square" — CBS
And then the globalists who control all the Western media decided to rewrite the story to demonize China.
Did people die on the night of June 3? Yeah, absolutely. There was mayhem in parts of Beijing. Equal number of protesters & law enforcement died that night. Total deaths: 200-300. America's goal was a bloody massacre, which could be exploited for regime change in China. (Tiananmen Square on the morning of June 4)⬇️
When there was no bloodshed, the US invented a massacre. This is typical American atrocity propaganda. Crazy stories were made up: Like Chinese soldiers on top of buildings mowing down citizens with machine guns; or tanks deliberately crushing people in Tiananmen Square. Psychopaths of the United States of America. And all the young Chinese leaders (stooges) of the protests were able to escape China few days before June 4 and fly to the USA. This clandestine plan was called "Operation Yellowbird." Even the CIA operation had to have a racist overtone.
Like this crazy student leader -- Chai Ling -- who admitted in an interview: “I wanted to tell them [students] that we were expecting bloodshed, that it would take a massacre, which would spill blood like a river through Tiananmen Square, to awaken the people. But how could I tell them this? How could I tell them that their lives would have to be sacrificed in order to win?” She went to Princeton and Harvard... and even got nominated for Nobel prize!! of the American Empire.
But the United States of America is a big fukkking liar. Every Western narrative about China is a lie -- Tiananmen Square massacre, 60 million people killed by Mao's Great leap Forward, Uyghur genocide blah blah.. And there are so many sociopaths at all levels of the US establishment, they can't now figure out what's a woman or a man. The country has turned into the monster that it ascribed to its geopolitical competitors. This is the price you pay for imperialism and colonialism.
The famous "Tank Man" video was cut short by Western propagandists. Why? Because the man leaves unharmed. Doesn't quite fit the narrative of "brutal communist party." Also, it happened on June 4... AFTER the Tiananmen Square was evacuated and peace was restored.

Tiananmen Square “massacre” turned out to be a big flat lie.

I'm still here!!!
If you've noticed my absence I apologize. Things have been wild and crazy for about two weeks now, but have finally started to settle. I look forward to catching up with all my Tumblr faves ❤️ (tldr at the end, sorry it's a novel!)
The tire incident was simple and manageable, thankfully. Just another random, painful expense, and reminder that life is chaotic-neutral and meaningless at best, but possibly chaotic-evil and maliciously masochistic at worst. 🙄
All the stress of the past few weeks or so reminded me that I may have an autoimmune disorder of sorts; it seems any time I experience a high stress load, my body creates extreme inflammation or something, which causes me intense and chronic pain in my muscles, joints, and bones, as well as extreme fatigue. My poor, ever patient and graceful husband reminded me that last year I was prescribed some Celebrex for the very same symptoms, and I should give it a try. It helped almost immediately; I have a telehealth appointment with my PCP today to discuss seeking a specialist's evaluation for this. I'm honestly quite tired of doctors, diagnoses, and medication, but I can't exist successfully in the prior state of pain, so I will do as I must.
We got the new stove installed, finally. The whole process only cost us nearly $2500 from start to finish though lol 😂😭. We had to hire an electrician to wire the correct wire gauge and outlet through the house. We had to hire a plumber to cap off the gas line. We had many delays and miscommunications. But it's finally here! And it's been amazing so far. It's like the electric car of ovens lol: all torque all the time. I've been relishing in simply being able to make myself whatever I want whenever I want. I think I forgot how integral cooking is in my lifestyle until it was no longer accessable. I'm beyond grateful for the ability again. We can also stop spending tons of money on takeout, and can have healthier meals and snacks again, which is a blessing 🙌
Work has been off the rails too lol. It's the busiest time of the year for the bee farm, and it's my first time experiencing it. We're really feeling the pressure, but I think we're all doing our best to make it work. We are simply chronically understaffed and stretched thin. We have a general policy of flexibility; they purposefully cross-train as much as possible so that we can jump back and forth across different responsibilities throughout the day, but there are some fundamental flaws with that. I have noticed a lack of monetary compensation for the added responsibilities and skills, and of course without proper coverage, when someone hops from one need to another, a different hole is created and a new situation can arise. So we're trying to find the balance between what we need as a company, and what the human body and mind are actually capable of lol.
Two weeks ago was supposed to be our first bee pick up of the year. It was pushed to this past weekend due to weather, so we had about 400 orders stacked for one weekend. We sell two types of bees: Italian bees, which we source from California and Florida breeders, and our own specialty, chemical-free bees, which we breed on site. Due to the poor weather (climate change, lets be real), the spring season had yet to kick off, and it was impossible to ship the Italian bees during freezes and floods, as well as initiate the queen breeding process in the cold. So this past weekend our pick up volume doubled.
To make things more interesting lol, we also hosted this year's Texas Mead Festival! It was a fun display of 6 different meaderies from all over the state (including our own meadery, Wildflyer), with samples and gifts and live music and food. All week up to the day of the event, it was down-pouring rain daily. Our farm is mostly grass and gravel. The location for the outdoor festival was now officially Woodstock 1999 lol: a mud pit. But they set up booths and tents nonetheless and we went for it.
On that day, I was meant to run the farm's cafe, and flex between retail/bee pick up as I was needed. They also pinned me with hosting the gourmet honey tastings, and the history tour for the day. Why we allowed these extra events during such a chaotic day is beyond me.
We were busy from hour one. The festival didn't start until noon, and pick ups weren't supposed to start until two, but our owner made the executive decision to start pick ups early since we were technically 'ready', so we were bombarded with already frustrated bee keepers out the gate. Bee folk are strange folk, too; trust me on that. Thankfully I was sequestered in the kitchen for coffee service until noon, when I ran across the yard to host the gourmet tasting. The group was friendly and it went well, but I left right at the start of lunch service, and came back to it in full swing. We were slammed until I had to leave again at two for the history tour, and it was painful to abandon the crew, but I did my due diligence. It was another great group of customers though, and it went well. But when I got back to retail to check in, chaos had broken loose; the shop was overrun with regular weekend customers, day drunk festival goers, and cranky beekeepers. There were only two people at retail trying to do the work of at least four. But I couldn't stay to help, as the cafe had a line out the door and were in the reeds to say the least. We cranked out orders until we literally ran out of everything, and I had to ask the people in line to leave for an hour so we could desperately scramble to prep more ingredients and continue service. People grumbled but I think the mead was playing the part of placater that day lol, and we were barely able to scrape it back together. We stayed open until seven; retail was only open until five. One of the retail gals came and helped us close, because she's an angel and easily my favorite coworker right now lol. We had over-prepped in preparation for the event, and it still took us by surprise, so it was a heavy lesson to learn in the moment. But we survived and probably even thrived; all the customers had positive feedback, and we left for the day feeling satisfied.
Selling delicate livestock has its drawbacks though. We've been fielding calls all week about unsuccessful transport and installation of colonies and queens. I've been playing customer service all week, trying to troubleshoot bee issues and manage replacements and refunds. It's kind of a case by case thing; we're responsible for the bees' wellness up to the point of leaving the property, and the customer must sign a waiver agreeing to such. But accidents can happen despite how seasoned and knowledgeable the beekeeper might be, so we try to be flexible and accommodating if the situation is right. It's been a bit stressful. I've also spent any free time I've had just trying to restock the absolutely obliterated equipment room of all its hive bodies, gear, tools, etc.
I had a nice debrief about the weekend with the owner though, and I think I succinctly communicated the reality of the flex ideology on me and my fellow workers, as well as the needs of the kitchen as an independent entity during big events like this. It was a fruitful talk and I think the next pick-up, this coming Friday and Saturday, will go much more smoothly, and not just because there won't be a festival cherry on top of the chaos pie lol. There will be many more large events at the farm this year, so I think Mead Fest was a harsh but necessary test run.
✨TLDR: It's been trial after tribulation, but I think I'm rounding a corner and coming out better for it.
I'm grateful for everything I've learned, the support of my loving friends, family, and husband, a safe home to come back to every day, a stable job with owners and coworkers whom I think genuinely care, and the general reclamation of my health lol. I'm beyond grateful for the stability and privilege in my life to be able to experience so much struggle at once and somehow bounce right back, possibly even stronger than before.
Thanks for sticking around 💖

Surge Protection Devices: Safeguarding Your Electronics and Electrical Systems
In today’s modern world, electrical devices and systems have become an essential part of daily life. From computers and smartphones to home appliances and industrial equipment, most of our devices are vulnerable to power surges. Power surges can occur for a variety of reasons, including lightning strikes, faulty wiring, or even the switching on and off of large appliances. Surge protection devices (SPDs) are the unsung heroes that protect these valuable assets. In this article, we’ll explore what surge protection device are, how they work, and why they are crucial for your home or business.
What is a Surge Protection Device?
A surge protection device (SPD) is a tool designed to prevent damage to electrical equipment caused by voltage spikes. These devices are used to protect appliances, electronic devices, and other electrical systems from transient overvoltages—surges that last only a fraction of a second but can cause significant damage to sensitive components.
Surges are typically brief bursts of electricity that exceed the normal voltage levels in a circuit. These overvoltages can be caused by a variety of factors, such as:
Lightning strikes: A direct or nearby lightning strike can introduce a massive voltage spike into the electrical system.
Utility power fluctuations: The grid can experience surges due to high demand, faulty transformers, or equipment failures.
Switching operations: Large machinery and HVAC systems turning on and off can cause brief surges in the system.
Surge protection devices help to divert or absorb these excessive voltages, preventing them from reaching and damaging connected equipment.
How Surge Protection Devices Work
SPDs are typically installed in power strips, wall outlets, or integrated into the electrical panel of a building. The core function of an SPD is to divert the excess voltage to the ground, preventing it from flowing through the device or circuit it’s protecting. There are several key components in an SPD:
Metal Oxide Varistors (MOVs): These are the most common components in surge protectors. MOVs have the ability to absorb and redirect excess voltage to the ground when a surge occurs.
Gas Discharge Tubes (GDTs): Often used in high-voltage applications, GDTs work by ionizing gas within a tube when a surge occurs, allowing the excess current to pass through and be safely discharged.
Thermistors: These resistors change resistance based on temperature. In the event of a surge, the thermistor’s resistance increases, limiting the flow of excess voltage.
Capacitors: Some SPDs include capacitors to filter out high-frequency electrical noise or spikes, providing additional protection against smaller, quicker surges.
The surge protection device works by identifying when a voltage surge occurs and either redirecting or absorbing the excess current. Once the surge subsides, the SPD resets itself, ready to protect again.
Types of Surge Protection Devices
Power Strips with Surge Protection: These are the most common type of surge protection used by homeowners. They provide multiple outlets and typically include an LED indicator to show that the device is still functioning. Power strip surge protectors are ideal for small electronics like computers, TVs, and game consoles.
Whole-House Surge Protectors: These are hardwired into the main electrical panel of a home or business, offering protection for the entire electrical system. They prevent surges from entering the building from external sources, such as lightning strikes or utility fluctuations, and can protect appliances, lighting, and sensitive electronics throughout the property.
Point-of-Use Surge Protectors: These are individual surge protectors placed directly at the power source of an appliance or electronic device. They are commonly used for expensive or sensitive equipment like servers, medical devices, and home theaters.
Industrial Surge Protectors: These are designed for heavy-duty applications in factories, manufacturing facilities, and large commercial buildings. Industrial SPDs can handle much higher voltages and are built to withstand more frequent or intense surges.
Why You Need Surge Protection Devices
The importance of surge protection cannot be overstated, especially given how much we rely on electronic devices. Here are some of the key reasons why surge protectors are essential:
Protects Expensive Electronics: Many modern electronics are highly sensitive to voltage fluctuations. A power surge can fry delicate circuits in devices like computers, televisions, audio equipment, and smart home devices. The cost of repairing or replacing damaged equipment can be significant.
Prevents Fire Hazards: A sudden surge in power can cause wires or electrical components to overheat, which could lead to a fire. Surge protection devices help to prevent this risk by redirecting or dissipating the excess voltage.
Extends the Lifespan of Equipment: Even if a surge doesn’t cause immediate damage, repeated exposure to minor voltage fluctuations can degrade components over time, leading to premature failure. Surge protectors help to ensure that your equipment lasts longer.
Minimizes Downtime: For businesses, electrical surges can cause downtime that disrupts operations and leads to financial loss. Surge protectors help to minimize this risk, ensuring that operations continue smoothly even in the face of power fluctuations.
Peace of Mind: Knowing that your electrical system is protected from surges provides peace of mind, especially when it comes to expensive or critical equipment.
Choosing the Right Surge Protection Device
When selecting a surge protector, there are a few factors to consider:
Joule Rating: This is the amount of energy a surge protector can absorb before it stops functioning. The higher the joule rating, the more protection it offers. For sensitive or expensive devices, a higher joule rating is recommended.
Clamping Voltage: This refers to the voltage level at which the surge protector will activate. A lower clamping voltage means the device will begin to protect against surges sooner.
Response Time: A surge protector with a faster response time can protect against quicker surges, reducing the risk of damage to your equipment.
Warranty and Protection Coverage: Many surge protectors come with a warranty that guarantees protection for connected devices. Be sure to check the warranty details when purchasing a surge protector.
Conclusion
Surge protection devices are crucial for safeguarding your electronics, appliances, and electrical systems from the risks of power surges. By diverting or absorbing excessive voltage, SPDs prevent damage to your valuable devices, reduce the risk of electrical fires, and extend the lifespan of your equipment. Whether you need a small power strip or a whole-house surge protector, investing in surge protection is a smart and cost-effective way to protect your home or business from the unpredictable nature of electrical surges.

We don’t have these services in the disaster prone regions I’ve lived but may I add a few more valid reasons people can’t leave:
Medical or otherwise necessary devices that need constant or higher power than a battery or even standard wall outlet can provide. Medical devices that need internet connection (which should be illegal in my opinion but here we are…)
Car battery being dead. This is less for hurricane but for winter disasters, this is pretty common. There are other reasons the car could be not functioning too that aren’t as fixable as lack of gas (which really isn’t fixable in mass evacuations)
Some people have never done this before! Most people who haven’t lived their entire lives in disaster prone regions. How do you protect your house whilst you’re gone? How do you pack for an evacuation? (it’s a skill, trust me)
Anxiety and trauma. This can be around shelters, loss of access to something they need, having lost their home in the past, not wanting to be separated from their support system, etc. There is zero mental health support in the middle of a disaster and not the kind that is needed
Children. Especially if they’re young or are shared between separated parents. No they’re not ‘needlessly putting them at risk’. Almost no one does that. Children are a complicating factor in an already complicated situation and can push the evacuation plans to the point of falling apart. Are also difficult to keep safe in shelters.
Elderly dependents too for compounding reasons
Inability to take standard transit. Anxiety or trauma around mass transit.
Just… basic not evacuating in time! Evacuation preparations are difficult at the best of time but are even more so when you don’t have the supplies on hand (cost, expiry, basic mistake, etc.) or if you’re disabled, or you unexpectedly don’t have help. So many people like to say that you can skip all that and just save yourself but, if you think you can evacuate with literally your wallet, keys, mobile phone, mask, and whatever you walk out the door with for work, do it. I encourage you. Just do it. Leave your house with just that (seriously just that) and don’t come home for 72 hours at least.
Evacuating is hard for everyone! Why is it so hard to understand it’s harder or impossible for some people?
“If you CHOOSE to stay in one of those evacuation areas-” we need to have public transportation running out of evacuation zones and free public storm shelters before you can say bullshit like that. we need to have free wheelchair ramp instillation on homes. we need to have free out of state pet boarding facilities. we need public infrastructure for the people in flood zones since these hurricanes are only getting worse and they are not going to stop.
