When I went abroad travelling for the first time by myself, I met my first ever Welshman, and he explained that almost everyone in Wales is called Jones, him included. It was a running gag amongst people, he said, like "going to the Joneses" could mean any number of neighbours.
I'm just gonna assume they named so many people Jones in Doctor Who and Torchwood as a reference to it being made in BBC Wales?
When watching Original Doctor Who series, first, second, third doctor and so on, my partner and I had a running joke: once again the Doctor and his companion are on our favourite planet - a quarry in Wales. 😊
can someone explain to me why there are so many Jones’ in the Whoniverse
Martha Jones, Ianto Jones, Harriet Jones, Eugene Jones from Random Shoes- were the crew running out of surnames or what?
#Doctor Who#Wales#i know very little about wales otherwise#my partner also got annoyed that I didn't know that Fireman Sam takes place in Wales#he was like#ITS CALLED PONTYPANDY MOUNTAIN#MOUNTAINS GANDALF#where else would we have mountains except in wales#meanwhile me from the south of germany#on holiday in the alps every christmas#you call that mountains#okay thats enough rambling good night

Omar reached out to me to help spread his fundraiser. He is a Palestinian in Rafah urgently trying to raise money for necessities of survival and to evacuate his 9-person family. He has only raised €4,893 out of his €50,000 goal so far! Please share and donate, and if you can't donate, please still share!
From Omar's GFM:
Hello, I am Mohammed, a Palestinian student in Germany, I am trying to forward the message of a good friend in Gaza, please support him !!!
Hello to everyone with humanity in this world. I'm speaking to you from Gaza, and I don't know if we will survive in the coming days from this death that draws nearer with each passing day. God spared me from the previous four wars on Gaza, but this war is entirely different. Perhaps in the coming days, I won't be among you anymore. Maybe death will take me as it took my friends and relatives from me.
I am Omar Hamad from Gaza Strip, Beit Hanoun city. I graduated from the College of Pharmacy in 2019. I worked hard in pharmacies and pharmaceutical companies to save up enough money to open my own pharmacy. Because I am very interested in the field of cosmetics and skincare, I didn't open a pharmacy. Instead, I opened my own skincare and hair care store, "Cosmatics," and it cost me around $45,000.
In the last few months before the war, I prepared my apartment and, literally, "poured my heart's blood" into furnishing it. It cost me a hefty amount, around $20,000, and I was ready to get married. But the war did not allow that. It did not grant us even a simple life, which is the right of every human in this world. This world has become desolate, where we see death every day and it cannot even save our children.
I belong to a beautiful, loving, and kind family. My father, mother, brothers Ahmed, Abdullah, Sameh, and Mohamed, and my sisters Faten, Ward, and Reem. My elder brother Ahmed is deaf and mute, suffering in the war from the intensity of the bombing and the concussion in his ear, where he never sleeps at night. My sisters Faten and Ward are also deaf and mute, and their suffering is more difficult because they are females and their physical structure is weaker, as those vibrations and concussions in their ears reverberate heavily. Meanwhile, my sister Reem's fiancé was killed in the war. She couldn't look at life with a hopeful gaze. Our sorrows could fill the whole world and overwhelm it. Oh God, why does all of this happen!
My mother also lost her three brothers, her mother, her brother's wife, and her brother's daughter during the war, all brutally killed. Despite all the sorrow that fills our hearts, we still have a positive outlook towards the future.
After being forced to evacuate from the northern Gaza Strip to its south, we went to the Palestinian Red Crescent in Khan Yunis. The bombing and scenes of killing and destruction were numerous. One day, while my friends and I were eating in our tent, the house next to us was bombed, and shrapnel fell into our food, miraculously sparing us. On another day, a group of people in the street next to us was bombed, and I saw before me 17 bodies, all torn apart, scattered flesh. I couldn't stand from the horror of the scene.
Then we moved to Rafah, on a barren sandy land, if found, on an area of 8 square meters. Twenty meters of expensive nylon and some ropes, that's how a scar is made on the ground bearing the name "tent," assigned to shelter an entire family that meets all its needs within its walls. Living inside it without a bathroom, without a kitchen, without flooring, without pillars, without covers, without warmth, without anything except a heavy heart, a wandering mind, an empty stomach, dense fog, and a very long night, accompanied by sadness, loss of loved ones, wind, rain, and bone-chilling cold. And thus, we await death.
We all need at least medical and psychological care to alleviate some of this pain, also due to the prevalence of diseases and the lack of clean drinking water and the scarcity of food.
We deserve a dignified life like any human in this world. We don't want to live just to survive; we don't want to live like animals only thinking about drinking and eating. We want to live with dignity, with freedom. I am full of hope and optimism that you will support us and help us. If you find that we deserve a better life, please help us in this campaign, which is $50,000.
• The permits and fees necessary to leave the Gaza Strip through the Egyptian Rafah are $5,000 per person (9 people, which is $45,000), in addition to $5,000 to secure the lives of 9 people for rent, buying clean clothes, and securing food and drink at least in the first few days.
Thank you very much for being interested in reading and hearing my story. You are not obliged to help, but we all hope that you will help us and that we will live a dignified life free from bombing, death, blood, and destruction, and also free from continuous hunger and thirst, a life full of cleanliness and hope.
Omar.

A 22 year old woman who was about to graduate with a degree in engineering is now dead because her ex couldn't accept that the relationship was over.
Gino Cecchettin, hugging his daughter Elena, attends a torchlit procession in Vigonovo, near Venice, northern Italy, Sunday, Nov. 19, 2023, after the police found the body of his other daughter Giulia, reportedly with multiple stab wounds and wrapped in plastic on Saturday in a ditch near Venice. Police in Germany over the weekend arrested Filippo Turetta, 21, who had been on the run since Nov. 11, when he was last seen arguing with Giulia Cecchettin. (Lucrezia Granzetti/LaPresse via AP)
The Associated Press
ROME -- Italy has erupted in outrage over the death of a young woman, allegedly at the hands of her possessive ex-boyfriend, with the Italian premier vowing to crack down further on gender-based violence that has claimed the lives of more than 50 women so far this year.
Police in Germany over the weekend arrested Filippo Turetta, who had been on the run since Nov. 11, when he was last seen fighting with 22-year-old Giulia Cecchettin, hitting her in a physical attack that was captured by roadside video cameras.
Cecchettin's body, reportedly with multiple stab wounds, was found wrapped in plastic on Saturday in a ditch near Lake Barcis, in the province of Pordenone north of Venice.
Italian newspapers had been consumed with the search for them both, given multiple reports from friends and family that Turetta had refused to accept Cecchettin's decision to end the relationship. Cecchettin’s sister, Elena, said she had been concerned about Turetta’s possessiveness of her sister but never imagined he could hurt her.
Police in the eastern German city of Halle said Sunday that they had detained a 21-year-old Italian man who was wanted by police in Italy after his car broke down on the A9 highway in the south of the eastern state of Saxony-Anhalt.
Italian news reports said police road cameras had traced Turetta’s black Fiat Punto as he drove on mountain roads through northern Italy, into Austria and then Germany.
Italian state-run radio network RAI said Turetta had agreed to be extradited, and Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani said he was expected back in Italy within days. Venice's chief prosecutor, Bruno Cherchi, suggested Monday it might take longer and urged patience so the investigation can complete its course without external pressure.
The fate of Cecchettin, who had been due to graduate university Thursday with a degree in engineering, had dominated news reports for a week and led to an outpouring of anger when her body was finally found. Even Turetta's parents attended a candlelit vigil for her, and RAI led its main evening news program Sunday with a backdrop made up of portraits of all the women killed in Italy this year.
Premier Giorgia Melon i expressed outrage at Italy’s long history of violence against women by their partners or ex-partners, saying it has appeared to be getting worse recently. She cited data from the Interior Ministry saying of the 102 women killed in Italy this year up to Nov. 12, 53 died at the hands of their partners or former partners.
“Every single woman killed because she is ‘guilty’ of being free is an aberration that cannot be tolerated and that drives me to continue on the path taken to stop this barbarity,” she said in a statement on social media.
A government-backed bill that has already passed the lower Chamber of Deputies and is coming to the Senate later this month would boost preventative measures to protect victims of gender-based violence.
In addition, the Interior Ministry urged all schools to hold a minute of silence on Tuesday in honor of Cecchettin “and all abused women and victims of violence.” An organization of Italian university rectors, meanwhile, vowed to launch initiatives to make students more aware of gender-based violence.
The aim, the group said, was to “promote respect of the person and halt violence against women” through education that fosters a culture of respect and responsibility.

Update post:
The fighting along Israel's northern border continues. Today, a Hezbollah attack drone was intercepted over Ein Ha'Mifratz, not too far from the famously mixed city of Akko, in northern Israel. The IDF has been targeting terrorist squads and infrastructure in southern Lebanon in response to the on going Hezbollah attacks on civilians communities here. Meanwhile, a Hezbollah senior has threatened today that Israel is "not ready" for what they have prepared for it.
An Iranian delegation is visiting Egypt, and just like everything else that legitimizes the Islamist regime in Iran, and allows it to get a step closer to its vision of being a world power, this should concern us. The Iranian-funded Houthis have been attacking ships traveling through the Red Sea, which affects global shipping, but the impact to Egyptian economy is even greater, as all of these ships are not passing through the Suez Canal, meaning they're not paying Egypt for this passage either.
A big thank you to @curieklei for sharing this NYT link with me: France is another country clearly denouncing South Africa's false lawsuit against Israel. That's on top of the US, the UK, Canada, and Germany, with the latter even saying it would join the lawsuit on Israel's side.
Yesterday, Jan 18, was the one year birthday of Kfir Bibas, the youngest Israel hostage, who was kidnapped to Gaza when he was just 9 months old. He has spent a quarter of his life in captivity, and counting. In Tel Aviv, his uncle gave a speech, in which he brought up reading what developmental stepping stones Kfir should be going through right now, based on his age. He should be seeing many colors, but he's only experiencing darkness. He should be crawling on safe, warm ground, instead he's kept underground. In Jerusalem, a mural has been dedicated to Kfir and the rest of the Bibas family, including 4 years old Ariel, all still held hostage in Gaza. Since 'kfir' in Hebrew means lion cub, and 'ariel' means God's lion, the whole family is depicated as lions:
These are Shachar and Tamar. During the war, Shahar was seriously injured, and had to have his leg amputated. He's going through rehabilitation, and before even finishing it, he and his girlfriend Tamar got engaged:
The medical first aid that the army is giving the soldiers has dramatically increased their odds of surviving even some critical injuries. During the Second Lebanon War in 2006, the percentage of soldiers wounded, who died from their injuries, was 15%. During the Protective Edge operation in 2014, the percentage dropped to 9.2%. According to IDF statistics, so far in this war, the percentage is even lower, at 6.7%, less than half of what it used to be during the Lebanon war. These advancements in emergency medicine have also helped civilians injured seriously by Hamas terrorist on Oct 7 to survive. Much like in the past, it's sure to be used around the world, and help save the lives of many, without Israel ever getting credit for its global humanitarian aid.
This is 19 years old Adir Tahar.
On Oct 7, he was stationed at the Erez checkpoint, on the border between Gaza and Israel. Just a reminder: there were no Israelis going into Gaza since Israel withdrew in 2005. There were Gazans coming into Israel daily, to work here, to get medical treatment, etc. Without soldiers at the checkpoint, it would have been closed. By serving there, Adir wasn't just protecting Israelis, he was also serving the Palestinian population in Gaza.
On the day of the massacre, Adir fought back against the Hamas terrorist and saved many others, before he was killed in battle, when they shot an RPG at him. But then, they abused the body of this kid. They cut off parts of it, including beheading it. David Tahar, Adir's father, recently recounted how he watched a Hamas vid showing his son's headless body. What was left, was so mutilated, they had to identify it based on his dog tags, personal items he carried and DNA. During an interrorgation of two terrorists who were involved in this, it turned out that one of them tried to auction Adir's head for 10,000 $. The family originally had to bury the body, knowing its main parts were missing. The interrogation produced enough intel, for the IDF to be able to retrieve the head from where it was kept in an ice cream shop's freezer, with signs of further abuse on it. The family opened the grave and re-buried their kid.
They are now trying to raise enough money, to open a center for endangered youth, dedicated to Adir's memory, in the city where he lived, Jerusalem. The last time I saw an update, they were looking to raise 500,000 shekels, and got donations of 27,000 shekels. I really hope they succeed. Either way, may Adir's memory be a blessing.

Solarpunk vs Nation States
I was told I should post a bit about Solarpunk again, so let me talk about another thing that I think a Solarpunk future cannot and should not have: Nation states.
These days we consider them a very normal part of life, but let me remind you that for most of history they did not exist. Even in the middle ages nothing like states would exist - not in the way we see them today. Sure, there were kingdoms and duchies, but for most people it did not really matter in what kingdom they lived in, as it was not part of their identity.
The nation states we have today, meanwhile, were created by colonialism and are a product of colonialism more than anything else. And this is why they have to go.
Because here is the thing: Even if we tried to decolonize, pay reparations and what have you... As long as the nation states still exist, some of the effects of colonialism will never cease to exist. Effects like the uneven distribution of riches and things like that. Effects, too, like the political instability of the global south at large.
See, in the global south some of the nation borders have been drawn intentionally to destabilize regions. By putting tribes or religious groups into one nation that the colonizers knew would not get along. And at times splitting tribes apart, who belonged together as well. Splitting cultures apart.
Meanwhile in the "west" the nations are used to keep riches within certain groups. Over here in Europe it is super noticable. I live in Germany, a rich nation, but right next door we have Poland, a considerably poorer nation. And whenever people from Poland or other eastern Europe come to Germany to work, people will fearmonger about the people "fleeing into our good economy".
So, yeah. Nation states are used to destabilize, exploit and keep people apart. If we really want to have a Solarpunk future, we have to get rid of them. They never were a good idea to begin with.

Where would the twisted wonderland locations be in real world?
Has this post been done before..? I don't know.
Now, let's get the easier things out of the way.
Scalding sands are obviously somewhere in Arabic country. In the Wikipedia for Aladdin, it states that it is a middle Eastern tale.. The clothes seem similar to that of an Arabic country. Turquoise colour is however, often used in over here turkey, but... Turkey is not an Arabic country.. It is stated that Jasmine's clothes were inspired by South Asian clothing... In the wiki it states that Agrabah was also inspired by ottoman empire, the silk city's camel bazaar seems similar to that of an bazaar over here. Hm.. I think that it might be based off of Afghanistan, it isn't fun fitting at all, and I'm just throwing it off there, but it is definitely somewhere similar to there and ottoman empire.
City of flowers is, without a doubt, based off of France. Noble bell college is based off of the Notre-Dame de Paris, more specifically, île de la Cité, an island in the Seine River(this part was taken straight out of the Wikipedia article for Notre-dame de Paris). There isn't much more to say about it, as it was rather easy to find out about it.
Queendom of roses is probably based off of United Kingdom, as the original novel it is based off of was written in england(believe me I will have to do this. A lot.), in November of 1865. From what I was able to see in the manga, the architecture seems to be more modern, along with the clothes as well. That would make anyone from there... British, take that how you will.
Now.. Onto the trickier parts.
Sunset savana, it obviously takes place in.. A savanas. Savanas seem to be most common in northern Australia and probably in Africa, looking at the cards in the Japanese server, the clothes for the sunset savana seems to be resembling that of traditional African clothes, but I might be wrong on this I'm sorry, but I strongly believe that is the case! I am not too sure on the exact country though, probably somewhere similar to Nigeria as the clothes seem to be similar.
Coral Sea, I.. Genuinely don't know. I can't even track anything down aside from going with where the original tale of the little mermaid was written, which is probably Denmark? So... Danish fish mafia???? I don't know??? Azul's name means blue in Spanish and Portuguese, and Floyd means grey and grey-haired in Welsh???? I don't know, I'm confused now.
Shaftlands, it is.. Probably based off of either Germany or somewhere that speaks English, since Cater's last name is english and jack is either english or French, however, if I go off of where Snow White is written from, it's Germany, and the most memorable character from there is vil, who's last name is "schöenheit" which means beauty in German, so... It's probably based from Germany.
•harvest town is... Also in shaftlands, it's probably based off of a town in Germany, I don't know. Epel's last name, felmier, means farmer in Romanian and such, his first name epel sounds similar to the German word for apple, apfel.
Island of woe, another tone.. Where I just don't know. It is definitely based off of Greece for sure, as Idia's name means reserved, private and such, meanwhile his last name comes from the Latin word shroud, which is the name for a cloth that is used to cover over the face of the dead. Ortho means unharmed, safe and such, and plus, the name of the S.T.Y.X is probably based off of the Styx river in the Greek mythology that connects the earth to the underworld.
Briar valley, now.. Another one that is hard to settle for, however, if we go off with how daisomnia looks, it's probably somewhere in Gothic Victorian time, since daisomnia looks like a Gothic Victorian castle, going off of cars and such aren't used in Briar valley, it makes me fully believe that it is mostly based off of the Victorian era. The names... Malleus is the name of a well knows witchcraft, and his last name is, according to the fandom wiki, is deprived off of the words dragon or devil in Romanian and such. Gothic Victorian architecture seems to be most popular in Europe, we don't know much about the Briar valley sadly, but sleeping beauty the fairytale was originally written in.. French.
The final matches, this is all speculations on my part and this was for fun!
City of flowers-france
Queendom of roses-united kingdom
Sunset savana-africa, Nigeria
Coral sea-i... I don't know...
Scalding sands-an Arabic country/probably somewhere in South Asia, possibly Afghanistan
Shaftlands-germany
Island of woe-greece
Briar valley-france/possibly Romania, somewhere in Europe.

12. why the 1880s?
something about this decade really sings to me. I find in particular, nearing the end of the nineteenth century, so much was happening on around the world in terms of arts, politics, technology, colonization. world events and global news don’t personally reach the day-to-day lives of the everyday folk, but they are an important part in gauging what life, thought, and society was about—what things were important then and now?
basically for myself, reminding me of notable things that occured during the 1880s—some thematic, some of relevance to context and characters, and the rest just ?? interesting and/or wild?
cocaine is a hot new cure for everything and anything. perscribed, sold in foods and more. heroine introduced as a lesser-addictive substitute for morphine…
lots of developments in fields of psychology; many experiments and happenings; Freud starts his work 1886.
1880-1914 had +twenty million immigrants to the United States: Germany, Ireland, England, China had the most arrivals.
William Dorsey Swann, the first self-proclaimed drag queen, organizes a series of drag balls in Washington, D.C. 1880-1890s.
Jack the Ripper claims his “first” victim in 1888 White Chapel, London. big scare.
Sherlock Holmes first appears in Arthur Conan Doyle’s A Study In Scarlet as part of the British magazine’s Beeton’s Christmas Annual in 1887.
Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde by Robert Louis Stevenson is published in 1886. Gothic fiction, drawing from emerging fields of science and psychology. & Treasure Island was published earlier in 1883 by him too!
Mark Twain drops The Prince and the Pauper (1881), Adventures of Huckleberry Finn (1884), A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur’s Court (1889).
Bel-Ami, Guy de Maupassant’s second novel is published in 1885. about a man who seduces and manipulates high society French women in the French colonies for power and wealth. MOVIE WAS ADAPTED IN 2012 STARTING ROBERT PATTINSON LOL
western European art movements very romantic and swirly and pretty: Monet, Debussy xoxo.
meanwhile, African American ragtime music becomes the “pop” music across the pond here.
North Dakota (1889), South Dakota (1889), Montana (1889), Washington (1889) become states.
train segregation laws flag beginning of Jim Crow; Civil Rights Movement of 1875 voided, making discrimination in private is not illegal, and prohibiting state intervention to personal or commercial segregation. l*nching continues throughout the south. slavery may be over on paper, but indentured labour is legal.
1882 infamous O.K Corral gunfight.
Gold Rush continues, all over the world—South Africa, to British Columbia, to California, to Argentina, to Russia-China borders.
centuries of American “Indian” wars continue.
American Dawes Act of 1887 granted American government authorization to regulate indigenous lands, including creating and assigning and enforcing reservations.
Sitting Bull’s 1883 speech of the atrocities experienced at the hands of white American settler colonists.
Canadian Pacific Railway 1881-1885. foreign labourers were hired to do a lot of heavy, dangerous, unwanted work. in America, more than 100,000km of tracks were laid by majority Chinese, Irish, Scandinavian workers.
America’s Chinese Exclusion Act of 1882 and Canada’s Chinese Immigration Act of 1885 was officiated, enforcing law of a Head Tax to be paid for every Chinese person entering North America. over the course of the next couple of decades, the fee of $1,500 was doubled to $5,000 was increased 500% to $25,000 in today’s currency—per person. this had devastating and lasting impacts on generations and societies of Chinese living both overseas and already in North America. propaganda at this time created many racist myths that persist today: there are too many Asians, they are taking our jobs, (the men) are gross and effeminate and a threat to (white) women, they shady and scheming people. these were the first and only major federal legislation to explicitly suspend immigration for a specific nationality in American and Canadian history. (I study Asian Canadian history, I can go on about this all day)
Tong Wars (1883-1913) had Chinatown gangs and factions in violent street wars across America, San Fransisco to New York.
large, targeted, and repeated anti-Jewish rioting (pogorm) and antisemitism rampant throughout Imperial Russia, 1881-1882 had more than two hundred anti-Jewish events alone. Jews continue to be racialized and othered.
fuck ton of colonization happening in Africa and the Middle East, Southeast Asia. Berlin conference 1884-1885 literally chopped up Africa to distribute to European powers.
Irish nationalist efforts to push forth Home Rule bill of sovereignty is defeated in British Parliament. Irish are not “white”, they are “othered” in Europe and in Americas.
use of photographic film pioneered by George Eastman, who started manufacturing film. his first camera (Kodak) was ready for sale in 1888.
Thomas Edison gets lit in New York 1883 with first electrical power station. next several year sees major cities being lit up with street lamps and public lighting with the science and works of a Nikolas Tesla (1886-1893).
hell of a lot more inventions in the works and patents being claimed. Hertz and radiowaves, Bell for telephone services.
“Between the years of 1850–1900, women were placed in mental institutions for behaving in ways the male society did not agree with”
way too much history to cram, obviously. here are some keywords for further research oki
prison industry / spiritualism / opium epidemic / irregular and uneven “modernizations” in rural vs. urban areas / class and poverty gaps / morality scares, checks, comparisons, gaps / new businesses and gadgets, products, tech to help with anything / fascination of the (colonial) Other; side shows, “freak shows” and other human zoos

After a few seconds, Liv was getting annoyed that the object of her dirty fantasies was ignoring her. Liv wrote, “Rfheea paaleeease I neeeeed yu.” Morgan could barely hit the phone keypad, trying to write something coherent. After a minute of ignoring her, Liv began spamming Rhea with everything on her screen: symbols, emoji, gifs, and other incoherent nonsense. Rhea's phone was flooded with notifications, and the iPhone was always on, which finally woke Ripley up. Rhea decided to look at her phone and see who was so persistent, texting so many messages. Liv meanwhile was already hysterical, the weed was working and the frustration of being ignored was taking its toll. Rhea opened direct and saw over 50 messages from Liv Morgan. Ripley made a grimace and clicked on chat. After polishing off all of Liv's ramblings, Rhea wondered - surely all was well? Maybe Liv needed help? Rhea tapped the keys on her phone and dialed, “Are you okay? Or are you and Dom trolling me?”. Liv's eyes lit up when she saw the answer. Liv began typing rapidly, “RHJEA HERE ARE CATFISHEES2IO!!!!! CCCATFISH!!!!! DON'T LET THE CATFISH IN!!! CATEEFISH ARE EVERYWHERE.” Rhea raised an eyebrow and thought it was a joke, but on the other hand it was highly alarming. - “What catfish?” the question was obvious. - "CATFISH, MTYYTYSTERIO ACATFISHH AND CANNIBALLL!!! HE SMELLS LIKE NUGGETS-- AND NUGGETS ARE MADE OF HUMAN MEAT.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" - Again, Morgan impulsively typed out the answer, tapping her fingers rapidly. - "What 💀" - Ripley was already laughing at this. – «RHRAAEA KITTY I WADNT TO FUUUCK I'M SCARESD OF MISTERIOUSS I WANT ONLY YOUR TOUMNGUE IN MY PUSSY🥰💋🥰🥰😭😭😭😌😍😍😍😍🥲🥲😏😭😭😭😭💦💦💦💦» - an overexcited Morgan was taken in another direction. - "Are you stoned, huh? Go see a drug doctor, Germany has good medicine." - Ripley just wanted to put her phone away to forget this strange dialog, but Morgan immediately continued - "PLEASE PLEASE LICK ME WITH YOUR HUGE TONGUE ALL MY CUNT AND EAT ME ALLFSDKK👅👅👅👅👅👅👅👅👅👅👅" - Liv was tapping the screen harder and harder, her hands were shaking and her breathing was intermittent. - "sleep." - Ripley wanted to finally sleep, not listen to Morgan's insane trolling or the opposite of Morgan's fucked up wishes. Liv finally texted, “I'll be there soon, kittyyyyyyyyyyyy💋💋💋💋😍😍😍😍”. Rhea ignored this, and rolling her eyes, turned off her phone. Ripley turned on her other side and tried to sleep again. Morgan, meanwhile, was trying to pull herself together and look more presentable, though her red eyes gave away her stoned state. Liv went to hail a cab....
There was a knock on the door. Rhea opened her eyes in surprise. What the hell? Rhea carefully walked to the room door and looked through the keyhole. She saw a familiar top and blonde hair. – «Shit...» - wrestler whispered and carefully opened the door. In front of her face was Liv with a satisfied fuck and red-eyes as if she were a South Park Towelie. The red-eyed girl pressed herself against the opposite wall and said, «There you are.... I want you soooooooooooooo badly, my body is all humming!!!!» - Liv reached for Rhea for a hug, but she grabbed her by the collar and said, “Have you any sense? How did they even let you in? You're going to be carried back upside down out of here!”.
Morgan immediately started making a crying face like she did on one of the RAWs where Dominik told her to fuck off. Rhea rolled her eyes and said -“ Just explain - how!?” Liv got a little wobbly and began the story, “Well...that is.... I got into a cab. he was saying something in German...eek...fucked up... I threw up on him, I think.... he was saying something to me...schaize...faprpis dich... I don't fucking understand... he threw me out and I went to you... but the Germans are so smart....” Morgan reached into her purse and pulled out. DILDO, a fucking strap. - "Cool thing... "- Liv darted her eyes at Rhea as her face twisted and she pulled her redditor into the room and shut the door loudly. Rhea tried to calm down and talk, but Morgan just jumped on top of Rhea and wrapped her legs around her and pressed her lips firmly into her beloved lips. Rhea had a hard time unhooking that koala with a frenzy and threw her on the bed. - "Are you fucked up? I'll get security, fucker."- - Ripley became as rough as her character in the ring. Morgan meanwhile ignored any of Rhea's wails and screams and just knelt down in front of Rhea and began licking her thighs, drooling profusely. Rhea pulled her leg back and said, “You asked for it, get your asshole ready.” Rhea looked at the strapon on the carpet and deftly slipped the fancy accessory on herself. - Get on your knees and give me a blowjob. - Ripley said and took Morgan by the hair and put Liv on her knees. Morgan obediently got on her knees and prepared her mouth for the coming entrance. Ripley smirked smugly and inserted the plastic aggregate into Morgan's mouth. Morgan moaned softly and sucked droolingly. Liv looked up at Rhea and she said to her, “Okay, let's go deeper.” Rhea took hold of Morgan's hair and began fucking her mouth more intensely. As she quickened her pace, Rhea began to say, “Who's the Mami? Who's always on top? А? Come on, it's like you have a dick in your mouth.” Morgan ignored the remark and just pointed her finger at Rhea and said through her drool with the feel of the strap in her mouth, “Y......y...y...you...gulpgulpgulp” Ripley smiled even wider and showed her tongue with the shiny piercing. This turned Liv on even more and she could feel her panties already wet just from the sight of Rhea. When Ripley had thoroughly enjoyed Morgan's blowjob, she grabbed her by the hair and pulled Liv's fucking face away from the toy, a huge slobbering string forming between them. Rhea wrestler-style threw the stoned Liv, who was getting fucked up again, onto the bed and began ripping her denim shorts off. When the path to her asshole was cleared, Rhea didn't hesitate to start drilling Liv's asshole with the strap, quickening the pace, creating spanks that spread throughout the room. Liv moaned muffledly, resting her cheek on the bed while drooling on the sheets. Rhea drove the strap back and forth faster into Liv's anus and the heat in the room made the two's cheeks flush and sweat run in rivers. After a couple minutes, Liv started moaning intermittently and clutched the blanket and cummed right on the blanket. Rhea removed the dildo with a cocky grin and threw it on the floor. -" Well, mein Schlampe, are you satisfied?" - Rhea slapped Liv's ass to the red mark. Liv grinned as she lay back on the bed with her ass backed up, unable to move it away. Ripley rolled her guest over and laid her on the bed. - "You're such a fool... "- Rhea admitted, ruffling her red-eyed friend's hair. Liv's red eyes were already closing and she was already falling asleep, leaning against Rhea's thighs. Ripley glanced at the clock, 4:30am. - "Cool... "- Rhea said sarcastically and left her red-eyed monster on her lap and fell asleep.
At about 10 am, Rhea slowly opened her eyes and shuddered a little when she saw the blond wonder in bed, but smiled because she remembered what a night she'd had. Liv woke up a couple minutes later, feeling heavy in her head, as if she'd been hit with a jackhammer. Morgan looked around unhappily, realizing it wasn't her room. Ripley quietly crept up and took Morgan by the chin and licked Liv's entire cheek, leaving a long drool trail. - "So, are you going to work off your nighttime crime?" - A startled Liv turned her head toward her bedmate....

Higurashi: Festival Accompanying Chapter 1
We know all the secrets surrounding June 1983, but we don't know everything leading up to that month.
Everything begins at some point likely around the mid 1950s. Before she was Miyo Takano, she was Miyoko Tanashi. She was scared of horror stories, loved collecting the flags that came with her kids meals, and loved her parents very much.
S-Save me r/vexillology!! I'm trying to identify all 19 of the flags Miyoko has collected.
The flags I can identify for sure:
Brazil: near the bottom center
Canada: near the center to the right of Brazil
China: in the top right corner
Denmark: In the top left, above South Korea and partially buried under two other flags
Finland: Above Denmark and slightly covering it up
France: The flag covering up Denmark
Germany: bottom left corner
Greece: Center far right
Japan: Near the center
South Korea: Center far left. Partially covered by the drawer wall
Switzerland: Bottom center, next to Brazil
Turkey: Bottom right corner
United Kingdom: Top Center
United States: Top center. Right above Canada
Meanwhile I think these are also in the pile:
Argentina or Austria: The flag under the Swiss and Brazilian flags. I'm leaning toward Argentina because red is drawn in darker shades
India: The flag at the top right above the US flag and partially covered by the drawer
Italy or Ireland: Flag to the right of Switzerland and above Turkey. I'm leaning more toward it being Italy.
I cannot figure out what the flag between Canada and Greece is. At first, I thought it was the Czech Republic, but the shading on this image doesn't match the Czech colors at all. And it's backward too. There's also a flag in the top right corner that is very hidden. All I can tell is it has white on the bottom. My guess is it might be Indonesia. I was also considering Estonia, but Estonia was under Soviet rule at this time and it was illegal to fly the Estonian flag.
I was really hoping the Mexican and South African flags might be in here.
You're placing a curse on your kid if you tell them god will give them happiness if they're good. You're telling them it is their fault when life happens and things fall apart. And almost as if on cue, Miyoko's life falls apart on the same day her father told her that. The only thing you could say she did wrong was she didn't hear her father when he called out to her.
Mr Tanashi losing his right hand in the train derailment is just twisting the knife. It's not enough that Miyoko's mother died in the accident and that she saw her father die. She's also denied one final headpat before he dies.
I want to try being fair to the social workers working on Miyoko's case. This is the mid 1950s. World War II ended at most a decade ago. Around 4% of Japan's population was killed in the war. Two cities were utterly destroyed, and there's the general economic collapse that comes from long-term military action.
No matter how much they may want to help, resources in this environment are stretched thin. Trying to find and contact a single person with no leads would likely be difficult today. It would be a herculean task in the 1950s.
And it's also this kind of scenario that lets an institution like the one Miyoko was sent to to exist. Those social workers were genuinely clueless about how that orphanage mistreats the children brought to it. They genuinely think they're providing the best possible solution given the situation, and the head of the orphanage knows how to put on a kindly face in front of them.
I genuinely don't know if the panel of the man patting Miyoko's head is real or her imagination. Him giving her even the slightest kindness is so out of character. And Miyoko grew up in the exact opposite of an abusive home. Her instinct when seeing someone raise their hand to her is expecting kindness and being utterly confused when she's hit instead.
I love and hate how that first slap to Miyoko is so perfectly executed. A full page image on the right half of the page spread. You just turn the page and see Miyoko violently slapped across the face. It's as sudden to us as it is to her. And right before it happens, the chapter implied that there is hope for her despite everything that's happened. But that one slap knocks the hope out of her and us.

I'm not white
You are not white. No really no one is "white". And I'm sick of this bullshit of people saying, "White" this and "Black" that and "Brown" this. Just stop. Judging people by skin pigment is something that we should not be doing at any point. And yet, the people that are "the most against racism" as it were, are insistent we continue to use these terms and so much so that if you are pale AT ALL you "should be considered white". Meanwhile you actually make it easier for people to be racist when you do this.
And you make the spreading of hate that much easier. "Boo hoo wyte pepo so bad they evil with no soul and something something melanin gives empathy". Shut the ever loving fuck up.
Frankly, it pisses me off more than anything to hear that kind of bullshit. AND YES that is a real thing people have said. We need to get away from labeling people as white, black, brown, etc, etc. Why? Easy, because if we are being honest here, it's kinda ignorant. I'm of French/Irish descent and I was born and raised in the US. Simple. And the same way I can say that. A "Black" man could be of Jamaican descent and also be born and raised in the US. Hell, he could be from Haiti and be a 3rd generation US citizen who's parents did REALLY well for themselves. You don't know. And that's the point.
You CAN'T know. It's just, "Oh this person LOOKS pale. We will just label him white, say he's never suffered oppression or discrimination at ALL and say that he is privileged." It's disgusting.
I've seen someone say that to a friend of mine, who's family barely survived the Holodomor, that he was just a "privileged little white boy". Excuse the fuck out of me but WHAT?! Kindly LTG.
Fact is in the US funny enough, those of Asian descent do better than almost ANY demographic in the US at all. People from India, Japan, China, South Korean, Taiwan, Philippines, etc, etc. Not "White". Which funny enough. Calling someone "White" and then saying, "White people have no culture" is some of the most racist and xenophobic shit I hear in my life. Why? Well let's look shall we. Where are can you find "White" people?
Russia
Brazil
Ukraine
South Africa
Spain
Mexico
Puerto Rico
Chile
Poland
England
Czech Republic
Switzerland
Canada
France
Germany
Ireland
Scotland
Finland
United States
And the list goes on. So you are going to tell me that NONE of the people from these countries have a culture. That they are just one with the "White Conglomerate" as it were? If you think as such then YOU are the racist. And also Xenophobic as well. We need to find a way to stop this "skin tone classification" bullshit. Especially since we seem to be EXPORTING IT to every other country in the world. Which, newsflash, is making things in the world THAT MUCH WORSE. And what's better? It's "well to do liberals" doing it. Congrats. You are making the world a worse place because you can't stop being racist little shits.
Am I blaming all liberals? No. Many? Absolutely.
We need to put a stop to this. And it needed to stop AGES ago.

You asked me a bit ago about my naval plans in my WIP, and the truth is I don't have much, so can I ask for your help in creating some? What sort of shenanigans could a semi-modern navy (think cruisers, battleships, a very few capital class battleships, submarines) get into with officially neutral ports, trade ships, and passenger ships?
I'm thinking most of the naval stuff will involve not the warring major nations, but them fighting over supplies and shipments from other nations. Help me friend!
Well, well, well! Now that is quite the conundrum you've got there, and certainly filled with opportunities for some very interesting scenarios. I'm going to search in my head for some IRL examples of interesting non-total-war uses of naval power in the period, and you can tell me if anything helps!
Here, I've compiled a short list of some interesting naval-related incidents in world history, mostly from the approximate era relevant to Mortal Sparks. I hope they might give some inspiration!
The Tangiers and Agadir Crises: Sea Power, Short Of War
These two incidents, taking place in 1905 and 1911 respectively, were among the defining incidents in European great power politics in the lead up to WW1, and are sometimes touted as possible alternative inciting incidents for what would become the Great War. Both principally concerned the political status of Morocco, but would become stages on which France and Germany would test the influence of themselves and their respective alliances against one another. The naval aspect of the affair was most obviously shown in the second crisis, which saw a German gunboat dispatched to Morocco as a sign of their willingness to back their position with force, soon followed by the gunboat's replacement with a cruiser.
While France, Germany, and the UK would end both crises at the negotiating table, Germany's Kaiser Wilhelm II in particular would feel particularly slighted at having come out on the losing end twice. Meanwhile, France and the UK would solidify their burgeoning entente with the signing of further naval treaties specifying either ally's role in the event of a full war with Germany.
South American Naval Arms Race: Ships For Sale?
This is less an example of great powers competing through the naval domain, and more an example of the shenanigans that great naval powers can be involved in even if they themselves have no intention of firing a shot in anger. Taking the form of a three way competition between Brazil, Chile, and Argentina from the late 19th century and into the 20th, it would see these countries massively expanding their respective navies. However, as none of the three regional powers possessed the industry and infrastructure to construct modern warships themselves, their fleets would be made up of dozens of ships built and designed by foreign, predominantly British, shipyards. The whole crisis would be considerably exacerbated by the creation of HMS Dreadnought, which single handedly rendered all existing battleships practically obsolete and spurred on demand for existing capital ships to be replaced rapidly across the board. In fact, Brazil's own exceptionally ambitious reaction to the affair would lead to it acquiring its own first dreadnoughts, of the Minas Geraes class, before Germany, France, Russia, or Japan would, built by the British companies Armstrong and Vickers, and in many ways superior to the first existing British and American dreadnoughts.
It's also notable that, despite the UK's own yards supplying the ships that manifested this crisis, the British government would repeatedly attempt to defuse tensions in order to preserve its valuable trade relations with the region. Interestingly enough, when WW1 did break out, many of these ordered dreadnoughts would still be under construction in their British yards, and either by seizure or purchase be acquired by the Royal Navy, alongside, interestingly enough, battleships under order for the Ottoman Empire.
Anglo-German Ocean Liner Race: Battles With Bling
An edge example, but I thought it'd be an interesting one since you did mention passenger ships! While the Anglo-German Naval Arms Race gets a lot of attention with its contributions to WW1, a similar competition in the sphere of commercial success and national prestige was playing out between the shipping lines and yards of the two great powers of the early 20th century. Size and luxury substituted firepower and protection when it came to key design features, but speed was of equal importance to both. If I were to make a larger point with this example, it would be that states which can raise and support large navies with the relevant infrastructure, technology, and skilled labour often have sizeable civilian maritime sectors as well. The usage of ocean liners as troop transports, on the other hand, shows how civilian assets in peacetime can be mustered for wartime service.
Beware, Arch deserts from his commitment to sticking to a specific era in the content below. Read at your own risk.
The Altmark Incident: Neutrality Not Withstanding
A touch past the scope of the designated era, and close to being an 'actual' war scenario of the sort I'm supposed to be avoiding, but it's honestly such a fascinating incident that I couldn't not include it. The crisis takes place during the so-called 'Phoney War', a period usually defined as spanning between invasions of Poland and of France and the Low Countries. A crucial point in the events of the crisis, and what ultimately made me decide to include it in this list, was the fact that Norway itself was still a neutral nation at this point, with ties to both Germany and the Western Allies.
The inciting event of the whole incident surrounds the German auxiliary vessel Altmark. Sailing back to Germany from the Atlantic down the coast of Norway, she carried three hundred POWs taken from British shipping by the 'pocket battleship' Graf Spee on her convoy raids. After the latter's destruction, she'd fled British and French naval forces, and at this stage relied on the neutrality of Norway and its territorial waters to safeguard herself and her cargo. A series of events I lack the ability to summarise would occur between the auxiliary and Norwegian authorities, which resulted in Altmark being allowed passage through a specially protected zone of Norwegian waters around Bergen to avoid an international incident.
The British government, finding about the matter via its embassy in Oslo, had other ideas. A force consisting of a light cruiser and five destroyers was immediately dispatched to intercept Altmark. The flotilla would make contact with the auxiliary while she was still under neutral Norwegian escort. The British would make increasingly brazen attempts to isolate Altmark as the collection of ships approached Germany, and when she finally ran out of space to manouevre the German vessel entered a fjord and ran aground on its ice, trapped. The British commander on the scene requested that their POWs be released, his Norwegian counterpart stated that he would refuse any British boarding attempt with force if he had to, and after seeking permission from the Admiralty HMS Cossack stormed into the fjord and, just avoiding a last ditch ramming attempt by the Altmark, boarded the auxiliary and freed the prisoners.
The sheer political fallout from the whole affair was immense. Norway, of course, protested the brazen breach of neutrality that had just taken place, while the UK criticised Norway for allowing a ship carrying POWs to pass through its waters. The applicability of any of these events to your worldbuilding is something I can't predict, but at least it might give you an example of the shit storms that can come about even with neutral states.
The S-363 Incident: Whiskey On The Rocks
If you thought the last example was a strange one, you ain't seen nothing yet! This affair, often referred to as the "Whisky On The Rocks" Incident, is probably one of the most personally fascinating Cold War events I can think of, and with some slight tweaking could fit in with any time period.
The incident centers on the Soviet diesel electric submarine S-363, of a type referred to under NATO terminology as the 'Whiskey' class. Whilst conducting a surveillance mission on a major Swedish naval exercise, the submarine ran aground in Swedish territorial waters. An unarmed Swedish officer was sent to board the boat and question her captain, who blamed serious failures in navigational equipment as reasons why his submarine had traversed numerous fjords and islands to come aground so close to the major Swedish naval base of Karlskrona.
The Soviet captain was removed from the boat for interrogation in the presence of Soviet officials, while Swedish authorities searched the submarine. In the meantime, a sizeable Soviet naval task force was assembled and put to sea in the Baltic, approaching Swedish waters. Using radiological equipment, traces of uranium were found in the boat's torpedo tubes, suggesting the presence of nuclear torpedoes aboard S-363.
A storm swept over the region, leading the grounded submarine to send out a distress signal. Soon afterwards, two unknown vessels were detected entering Sweden's territorial waters from the last known point of the Soviet flotilla, heading straight towards Karlskrona, and the crisis reached its height of tension. Swedish aircraft were armed and ready to strike, and coastal batteries were put on full alert. Finally, it would be revealed that the two vessels were actually a pair of German merchant ships.
The crisis would end ten days later with the return of the submarine to Soviet authorities, but marks one of the most tense periods of the Cold War, a 'conflict' which on the whole saw little open fighting between the major powers involved in it.
#writeblr#worldbuilding#writeblr stuff#guess which eras of history I'm most familiar with!#the answer will not surprise you#sorry but I hope you can find some of this useful in your Worldbuilding!#on the one hand it feels like I'm not doing much beyond summarising some interesting bits of naval history#but at the same time learning about these events is how I've developed my 'instincts' when it comes to creating events in the 12 Worlds#if you'd like more help developing something yourself I'd be happy to help!

Heam is enabling me; (i lied i can't remember Sam's part 😭)
warning now long post
WELL SAM it's 400 AD and that right there is Britain! and here comes the king! in a bedsheet! Haha no really that's the roman emperor because Britain is under Roman rule as it has been for over 350 years! But all that is about to change because in 410 the unthinkable happens!
so unthinkable I can't think of it now what was it hmmmmmmmm OH
THE ROMAN EMPIRE CRUMBLES! And the romans leave Britain with the immortal line
"don't forget to put out the cat"
or something like that
and that's when the problems really start! with the Romans gone the picts from up in Scotland invade england, so Vortigern king of the Britons hires a load of warriors from Germany & Denmark--places over there--and with them come two chaps named Hengist and Horsa, and they like Britain so much they'd quite like to keep a piece of it. Luckily for them Hengist has a beautiful daughter and in the weirdest deals in the whole of history he gives Vortigern his daughters hand in marriage for Kent!
yep Kent.
And that's just the start of it. Soon seeing how easy it is to get your hands on English lands there are Danes and Germans everywhere! German invaders from the district of Angle take over the east and the midlands while invaders from Saxony take over large chunks of the south, yes that's right England is now overrun with ANGLES and SAXONS making it officially ANGLO-SAXON.
and u thought we just made that term up
And there you have it that's it
end of the story
end of the line
end of the pier
last dance
last chance
lights off
cats out
done.
BUT NOT FOR LONG
under anglo-saxon rule Britain changes shape entirely, though obviously not around the edges. Inside though it's all different as the invaders shape their new lands into seven major kingdoms; places like
Essex
Wessex
Sussex
and so on
But it's not all playing fairly for the Anglo-Saxons because they can't conquer Scotland for toffee!
which is a shame because Scotland's got great toffee
Meanwhile on the other side they aren't too happy about the new neighbors, so much so that king arthur of Mercia
an Anglo-Saxon kingdom shown here in puce whatever color that is
digs a trench separating the west of Britain from the rest of Britain, creating the border for what we now call Wales! Sounds fair! we now have Scotland, Wales, Anglo-Saxon England all living in perfect harmony bar a little name calling and the odd local war.
BUT NOT FOR LONG
YES FOLKS IT'S 865 AND LOCK UP YOUR MONOSTARY BECAUSE
HERE COME THE VIKINGS
In no time at all they take over every major anglo-saxon kingdom except for this one, Wessex, home of Alfred the great
who clearly has a high opinion of himself
And for good reason, because Alfie and his family manage to hold off the vikings!
BUT NOT FOR LONG--well, actually it's for quite awhile but that's not the point. No Eventually Æthelred the unready becomes king and gets so sick of the constant viking attacks
that he's presumably never ready for
that he decides to kill every viking in England, including the king of Norway's sister; which unsurprisingly doesn't go down too well with the king of Norway. Who prompltly Invades England, takes Æthelred's crown and is the first in the line of viking kings!
There's Cnut!
There's Harthacnut!
There's a quarter of a Cnut!
Though not that last one!
and this goes on until 1042 when an englishman gets the crown again
WHOO it's
Edward the Confessor
and then he goes and dies BOO
and three differnt people try to claim the thrown, an Englishman, a Norman, and a Viking
which sounds like the beginning of a joke but really isnt.
Especially when the englishman, Harald Godwinson, takes the throne and is immediatly set upon by the other two! While holding off the viking one up here, the norman one--a certain William the bastard conqueror invades down here
yes folks it's 1066 and the battle of hastings! Which signals not only the end of Harald but also the end of the Anglo-Saxon Era all together
THE END OF THE PIER
THE END OF THE LINE
THE END OF THE ROAD
THE END OF THE WORLD AS WE KNOW IT
and unless i calm down soon it might as well be
THE END OF DEAR OLD BOB HALE
OH IT'S TOO LATE IT'S HAPPENED
It's just heartburn, false alarm, it's just heartburn.
back to you Sam.

Story behind my affinity with Veronaville and Germany - pt. 1
When I played Sims 2 for the first time (19 years ago), I made my OC family in Veronaville. Since I haven't visited UK at that age, but I already visited Germany before, I associated those half-timbered houses more with the Fachwerkbauweise and didn't know the English Tudor also has half-timbered houses. Also, I played my game in Dutch, so the premades had different surnames than Capp and Monty, therefore I made less of a connection with the Shakespearean tales (and I assumed the Montys were from North-African descent because of the Moroccan deco in their original Lots and me associating S3 skintone more with MENA than with South-Italians). Meanwhile, I enjoyed German classes when I was in 8th grade of secondary school, so I already had affinity with the German language.
So basically, I associated those half-timbered Veronaville houses more with something like this
Pictured: Alte Flecken, Freudenberg (Nordrhein-Westfalen)

Hello! Forgive the rather specific request, but do you have a brief recap of the wars Greece fought in modern days? By modern days I mean after guns were invented up to the XX century, excluded (I mean you don't have to mention me WW1 and WW2, as I guess they are already a given). I know for a long time Greece was under the Ottoman empire, so I take that as well
Greece hasn't really fought with others much except Turkey tho lol, the list below will give you a deeper understanding of all the Greco-turkish memes
Guns were used in what we'd call their recognisable form around 1300 AD. For the next 200 years, the Greek fights are still the Byzantine fights.
In the 14th Century, the Byzantine Empire tries to resurrect itself as a result of its utter destruction from the Crusaders. This leads to Byzantine civil wars between aspiring emperors who simultaneously try to regain lands. Meanwhile, the empire fights the Ottomans on numerous battles. Throw in this mix a Byzantine-Genoese War, which had to do with the repercussions of the Crusades.
In the 15th Century, it's all Byzantine Empire vs Ottomans. The empire falls and Greeks become a part of the Ottoman empire.
In the Ottoman-Venetian Wars which span three centuries (1463 - 1718), Greeks participate on the side of the Venetians every time.
During the 16th century, Greeks make several anti-Ottoman revolts, at Vonitsa, Epirus, Thessaly and Dionysius the Philosopher's revolt. They also participate in the Albanian revolt in Himara.
In the Russo-Turkish War (1768-1774), Greeks participate on the side of the Russians.
From 1778-1815, Greeks make several revolts with local success which leads to re-invasions from the Ottoman Turks and more fights.
1821-1832, Greek War of Independence.
Crimean War, 1853 - 1856. Russia VS Ottoman Empire, France and UK. Greeks participate on the side of the Russians.
Further Cretan, Macedonian, Thessalian and Epirote revolts against the Ottoman Empire, 1841 - 1898.
Macedonian Struggle, 1904 - 1908. Atypical war between Greece and Bulgaria over the still Ottoman-controlled region of Macedonia.
First Balkan War, 1912-1913. Greece, Serbia, Montenegro, Bulgaria VS Ottoman Empire.
Second Balkan War, 1913. Greece and Serbia VS Bulgaria.
WWI (1914-1918). Greece joins the Allies after a lot of drama.
Greeks participate in the Allied intervention in the Russian Civil War (1918-1920).
Greco-Turkish War, 1919-1922.
WWII, 1939-1945. Greece is of course on the side of the Allies and fights the invasions of Italy, Germany and Bulgaria, for the most part simultaneously.
Greek Civil War, 1946 - 1949.
Korean War, 1950 - 1953. Greeks participate on the side of South Korea. Fun fact, they were the fifth largest UN power participating in the war.
Korean stamp.
Turkish Invasion of Cyprus, 1974. Much weaker and shorter assistance of Cyprus than one would expect, most likely because at the time Greece was governed by a dictatorship.
Now as a member of NATO and UN it is in several expenditions worldwide, missions, but it's basically peacemaking and humanitarian operations etc

Just rambling and thinking out loud don't mind me:
With Clinton being the only one who came close to achieving peace in the Middle East it makes sense that they'd try and put him on Epstein's list to discredit what he did
So both Trump and Clinton were a threat?
Wondering what Trump refused to do for the warmongers to piss them off
But then he refused to start a war while being President so what we are seeing happening now is simply the delayed reaction to a non starter
Interesting
My dream triad happened just before that time and I was only on Twitter, the majority of my dreams have occurred due to seeded narratives seeping into my brain and when I stay off twitter they happen less, curious
Clearly the original dream triad was influenced by what I was seeing then as it has continued to be since then, weird brain I guess, its also how i make my other predictions via the troll farm bots
So the overall game is to try and start WW3 that I get, the centrepiece is Israel, whom everyone is avoiding direct conflict with because it will draw in the Americans, meanwhile every other nation is trying to end it via the actual courts and the court of public opinion
Actual US strikes have been minimal, these latest ones on Yemen are not actually the US, they will have been called by someone else because the US will not risk antagonising Iran, Iran supports Yemen to avoid attacking Israel directly and focus on helping cut off supply routes
The US is biding their time for the trial while Israel keeps baiting others in the region to attack it while they wipe out Palestine
The goal is control of Palestine's resources of course and Israel is doing whatever it wants while the US sits back not able to do anything
I genuinely hope South Africa proceeds with their suit against the US/UK and anyone else who has supported Israel
Germany is a bit of a weird one tbh, they depend on Russia for their manufacturing, Russia backs Hamas
(is this some weird long standing feud from the millions of Russians that died fighting Germany due to WW2, with the americans only joining in at the very end when it was a sure thing and try to take all the credit (much like the all of a sudden increase of support from "Hollywood", I guess some things never change)
But what is it that they actually want control of?
Something tells me it isn't Palestine itself or it's resources, there are easier ways to get oil and both the US and the Middle East horde it, we currently have enough in storage to last another 50 years of uninterrupted supply without drilling for more
(My own country has the second biggest oil field underneath it in the world besides the Middle East and we won't allow any further exploration thanks to the Gulf incident, we value protecting the environment over oil)
I would have said the seat of power that was the US Presidency but currently that no longer has the value it once did after this disaster, or perhaps that was the point, to undermine its value and influence by airing its dirty laundry
A Russian backed Hamas instigated the entire conflict in Israel, they also invaded the Ukraine using astrological dating.....
People keep saying it's a switch to Eastern values, I honestly don't see it playing out that way
The North will keep struggling with each other, while the South grows stronger together
The wheel will break

EU countries tighten border controls
Europe’s free travel zone, known as the Schengen Area, is increasingly subject to border controls as many EU countries opt to tighten their internal borders amid a host of threats, Euractiv reports.
The Schengen Area, signed in 1985 and entered into force in 1995, is considered one of the bloc’s biggest advantages, allowing people to travel between member states without a single passport check.
Although a European Commission spokesman made it clear that border controls “should remain an exceptional, strictly time-limited and extreme measure if a serious threat to public policy or internal security is established,” EU members’ enthusiasm for border controls, which are anathema to the project, is growing.
A growing number of countries no longer want to use border controls as the short-term, last resort measure that Schengen originally intended it to be.
What started as localised, long-term border controls in Bavaria has now become a nationwide policy across Germany. A country that was once a staunch supporter of open borders and a founding member of the Schengen Area is increasingly tightening its national borders. Nancy Faeser, Germany’s interior minister (SPD, S&D), said during a visit to the Polish border in early August.
For me, border controls will remain as long as necessary.
Encouraged by the initial success of border checks introduced during Euro 2024, the leader of the German conservatives (CDU-CSU, EPP), Friedrich Merz, declared that “border controls must stay!” Now the Socialists (SPD, S&D) and the centre-right agree with him.
Experts note a clear trend towards strengthening and extending border controls among key EU members. Daniel Thym, an EU law scholar at the University of Konstanz, expained:
In Germany, politicians do not challenge the assumption that border controls are something positive any more.
The country’s newfound enthusiasm complements a trend that began in 2011, when French President Nicolas Sarkozy argued in favour of Schengen reform, threatening to leave the free-travel zone. He said in 2012 after a row with his Italian counterpart the previous year:
The Schengen agreements can no longer respond to the gravity of the situation.
Islamist attacks on satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo and the Bataclan massacre in 2015 prompted France to pursue border checks for national security purposes with renewed zeal. Thym told Euractiv:
France has had uncontested border controls for years.
He added that other countries have taken similar actions. For example, Austria “previously ignored a 2022 judgement of the European Court of Justice” that border controls are illegal.
Slovenia has imposed controls on its borders with Croatia and Hungary. Italy, its western neighbour, is conducting checks at all borders. Meanwhile, Sweden has imposed free travel restrictions on residents of Denmark’s capital Copenhagen.
Some EU countries have said migratory pressures require the introduction of border controls. Sweden fears an influx of organised crime from the south of the country. Bavaria’s minister of the interior, Joachim Herrmann, said:
We need intensive border controls more than ever for security and migration policy reasons.
As a consequence, Europe is increasingly divided by long-term border controls that stretch from the Baltic Sea to the Adriatic Sea, the Euractiv study shows. A spokesperson for the European Commission:
The Commission and the Schengen Coordinator are working closely and regularly meeting with all the member states that currently have internal border controls in place.
Faced with a dramatic increase in border controls, Brussels is trying to persuade EU countries to consider “possible alternatives” such as targeted policing to address security concerns “without having to reintroduce internal border controls,” they added.
Thym is sceptical that Brussels’ approach will work, given the complexity of the problems they have to address.
Because “issues like migration increase security, EU countries that don’t have a good solution to many of these problems are using the symbolism of border controls to put on a kind of theatre show.” He also added:
That’s also why the Commission’s idea of having these alternatives to border controls will probably not be very effective.
The Schengen Agreement has had a profound impact on Europe, revolutionising the concept of borders and changing the identity of the continent. It has facilitated the free movement of people, goods and services, promoting unity, economic growth and cultural exchange. However, the European Free Travel Area may not survive in light of modern threats and challenges that the EU is finding it increasingly difficult to cope with.
