So I thought this was commonly known internet navigation (but apparently it might just be those of us who have been using the internet since the 90’s who still know it). Or so it seems based on… a grumpy comment I got.
When you see an arrow like this:
Tumblr media
It means you click it to expand out a hidden section.
Tumblr media
It’s an accordion section/menu! It’s useful in web design to hide information that may be overwhelming under specific headers so people can only see what they need.
Here I’m using it for people who need the content warnings to be able to check, but for those who don’t need them and don’t want to be spoiled to just move right past without accidentally reading anything.
It’s still the user’s responsibility to click the arrow and read things as they need! But it is all warned. (And, yes, the all encompassing issues are already a tag on the fic, I’m just providing additonal warnings per chapter.)

Omg THANK YOU, yes, I was always thinling: he saw firsthand how magic was supposedly responsible for all these horrendous happenings, but then every time he goes: "Magic...!" With dear Anthony Head giving his most powerful befuddlement 😲😲😲
one of the funniest things about merlin is that almost every time arthur and uther are warned about magical legends they always dismiss it as ‘superstitions.’ you would think that after all of their experiences with magic that they wouldnt be so quick to dismiss anyone who tries to warn them.

My friend told me yesterday that today is Qifrey's birthday, so I had to doodle something last minute to celebrate lol
I've been testing out my new impressionist brushes some more. I originally made these for painting backgrounds so it's been a challenge to adapt them to painting people and clothes.

Sometimes I have a day that feels very unproductive, as I didn't work on something concrete or work-related. Then I return to my computer later that evening and see 15 new opened tabs that chart the journey of my thought processes and "things I quickly looked up" that day, and I am sometimes genuinely surprised, like...
oh yeah, this morning I had a sudden obsession with finding out exactly which Sherlock Holmes story was the first one with Moriarty and what was that one Holmes actor called again (it was Jeremy Brett) and where could I watch Elementary...?
And then in the evening I'm like: ???
this was so important at 11:30 am, and now I just feel a vague sense of having satisfied my curiosity???
the amazon prime page for Elementary, as well as a page where to download The Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes as an epub, will now remain an open tab to remind me to watch it for the next 8 weeks before I give up and close it.

My adaptation of the God of Arepo short story, which was originally up at ShortBox Comics Fair for charity. You can get a copy of the DRM-free ebook here for free - and I'd encourage you to donate to Mighty Writers or The Ministry of Stories in exchange.
Again it's an honour to be drawing one of my favourite short stories ever. Thank you so much for the original authors for creating this story; and for everyone who bought a copy and donated to the above non-profits.

I think it's cute how so many art movements are simply called "new art" to differentiate "not like the old stuff". Contemporary dance. New wave fashion. Pop (literally popular) music. Art Nouveau. Modernism. Postmodernism. Even terms starting with neo- (neo-classicism, neo-expressionism) all are just saying NEW ART. And yet all of these things are now distinctive styles of the past. It's kind of beautiful how humanity never stops outgrowing itself. Art is a state of matter that refuses to sit still, old as soon as it is new, original upon its thousandth performance, new forever so long as there is someone who has not yet seen it, and old the second the artist picks up their instrument again.

Hey folks. I'd like to introduce to you the just uploaded Hope Pack. Get it here: ko-fi.com/s/6677b08a06 🏳️‍⚧️ It's a collection 67 pose references. Many of them are unreleased. I'm offering this pack for a limited time at $5+ and all profits from the sales of this pack will be donated to Trans Lifeline
Our trans friends are going to need a little help now more than ever and for this holiday season I'd like to try to give them a hand. I usually only run the fundraiser packs once a year but... This year has been an exception in many ways. I hope you'll consider grabbing a pack!
If you don't need the pack, you can donate directly to Trans Lifeline: translifeline.org These folks can and will help trans people in crisis, or that just need a little assistance. It's a really great org and that's why I'm supporting them.
I'll also be donating any of my direct donations (like, go to my page, make a donation) until the end of the year too. I know money is tight for a lot of people, so if you can't swing it, please help send this along with reshares and reposts. ❤️ Thank you everyone!

Taking notes on all the things I can put my chatacters through 📝
10 Non-Lethal Injuries to Add Pain to Your Writing
If you need a simple way to make your characters feel pain, here are some ideas:
1. Sprained Ankle
A common injury that can severely limit mobility. This is useful because your characters will have to experience a mild struggle and adapt their plans to their new lack of mobiliy. Perfect to add tension to a chase scene.
2. Rib Contusion
A painful bruise on the ribs can make breathing difficult, helping you sneak in those ragged wheezes during a fight scene. Could also be used for something sport-related! It's impactful enough to leave a lingering pain but not enough to hinder their overall movement.
3. Concussions
This common brain injury can lead to confusion, dizziness, and mood swings, affecting a character’s judgment heavily. It can also cause mild amnesia.
I enjoy using concussions when you need another character to subtly take over the fight/scene, it's an easy way to switch POVs. You could also use it if you need a 'cute' recovery moment with A and B.
4. Fractured Finger
A broken finger can complicate tasks that require fine motor skills. This would be perfect for characters like artists, writers, etc. Or, a fighter who brushes it off as nothing till they try to throw a punch and are hit with pain.
5. Road Rash
Road rash is an abrasion caused by friction. Aka scraping skin. The raw, painful sting resulting from a fall can be a quick but effective way to add pain to your writing. Tip: it's great if you need a mild injury for a child.
6. Shoulder Dislocation
This injury can be excruciating and often leads to an inability to use one arm, forcing characters to confront their limitations while adding urgency to their situation. Good for torture scenes.
7. Deep Laceration
A deep laceration is a cut that requires stitches. As someone who got stitches as a kid, they really aren't that bad! A 2-3 inch wound (in length) provides just enough pain and blood to add that dramatic flair to your writing while not severely deterring your character.
This is also a great wound to look back on since it often scars. Note: the deeper and wider the cut the worse your character's condition. Don't give them a 5 inch deep gash and call that mild.
8. Burns
Whether from fire, chemicals, or hot surfaces, burns can cause intense suffering and lingering trauma. Like the previous injury, the lasting physical and emotional trauma of a burn is a great wound for characters to look back on.
If you want to explore writing burns, read here.
9. Pulled Muscle
This can create ongoing pain and restrict movement, offering a window to force your character to lean on another. Note: I personally use muscle related injuries when I want to focus more on the pain and sprains to focus on a lack of mobility.
10. Tendonitis
Inflammation of a tendon can cause chronic pain and limit a character's ability to perform tasks they usually take for granted. When exploring tendonitis make sure you research well as this can easily turn into a more severe injury.
This is a quick, brief list of ideas to provide writers inspiration. Since it is a shorter blog, I have not covered the injuries in detail. This is inspiration, not a thorough guide. Happy writing! :)

“There are no female aliens in our game because we don’t know how to make a female version of this alien” You know that alien you just designed? That male alien? Give it a female voice actor and have characters refer to it as she. That’s it. That’s literally all you have to do
Make her shorter if you must
Make her BIGGER if you aren’t a coward

we as a society got over Pacific Rim too fast.
- banging soundtrack just awesome
- lead female character with her own fully realized arc that had nothing to do with a love interest
- the concept of drifting is so fucking cool and prime fanfic material
- those two gay fucking weirdo scientists who drifted together inside a fucking alien brain like hello
- IT PULLS OUT A SWORD IN OUTER FUCKING SPACE
- kaijus are cool. that's all.
