oh boy !! ! ! ! !!! ! thANK y0u all for the kind words on my last art posts. you all get it and i was/still am so happy about it

sleep deprived dust can't recognize what's dream and what's real when he goes in and out of consciousness so i think dust is allowed to be incredibly reckless when he's awake but thinks he's in a dream. he will kill whoever passes by him (or attempt to. for him it's an instict to shoot bones anyways.) he will drink 4 bottles of alcohol just because he thinks its just a lucid dream. have incredibly loud conversations with phantom paps because he's asleep so nobody will hear him talk. or just have loud ass breakdowns because again he thinks he's asleep!!! nobody's gonna know what he gets up to in his dreams. and until someone (probably phantom paps) tells him that he's not asleep and this is reality he won't realize until he's done something really reckless

horror is seconds away from exploding dust's skull open with his magic while dust is trying to strangle him and FINALLY phantom paps tells him he's awake and dust snaps out of it. killer is walking around the house with bones sticking out of him like pins on a sewing pattern (casually too. another day in the life for him) and he just asks dust what that was about. dust just gets off of horror and shrugs his shoulders with an idk. and then walks away. this is the 6th time its happened this month

so i’ve been. THINKING lately.

you can find many similarities in both stories but there are also huge differences…

in cain and abel’s story cain murders his younger brother because of his jealousy and because god preferred abel over him, which is obviously similar to how chuck’s pride made him envious of jimmy because he’s more likeable and made their mom laugh etcetera etcetera..but i’d say abel was a pure guy, he didn’t do anything bad, he was like. basically the purest human being at that time (well it’s not really difficult to be the best person when there’s like 4 people in the whole world and two of them literally got kicked out of heaven but anyway). and cain murdered him. which is clearly not the case with jimmy and chuck because obviously in the legal point of view chuck is a better person than jimmy …

and we’ve got esau and jacob, which is i think a really underrated story. i mean i love cain and abel but i think people often forget about those two. esau, (technically) an older brother, always gets tricked by jacob. jacob buys his birthright and steals his father’s blessing that was meant for esau. and esau rages at him because. i mean. that’s not a nice thing to do. but in the end jacob becomes one of the Main Characters in the genesis… personally i think this story is more… idk, specific? there’s just something about the younger brother constantly tricking the older to get what he wants, even though the reasons not always are completely selfish. BUT! in the end esau and jacob made peace which is (spoiler alert😨) not the case with chuck and jimmy ………..and also jacob didn’t really have a redemption arc and esau just. idk. moved on with his life. got a family and all that. so he basically became a normie. but yeah ANYWAYS!

so yeah. i’d really love to hear ur thoughts and opinions on this one because i am a little bit insane about all this stuff as you probably noticed

They would have! They were already dipping their toes into that particular water, Dipper making the first move just sped things along.

I think in an alternate scenario where Dipper didn't do the do, either: everything pans out the same with minor differences, OR: He's in a way less chipper mood when Ford arrives. Which means he's a lot more cagey with Ford, doesn't accompany his uncle when he breaks the curse. And since he didn't tell Ford where it happened, it comes out of nowhere when the thing's broken - but it's also done with less deadly intent. Which makes Bill (surprisingly, even to himself) alarmed, because, shit, Dipper just up and collapsed right next to him, did he just die? - and when Dipper survives despite the odds against him - Ford doesn't find out who Bill is, due to Dipper not wanting to hang out with him all that much.

Overall, these two idiots would be given a lot more time and space to bicker and argue and flirt for long enough that they get Domestic again, before they get freaky.

What I really think media with ensemble casts, especially those in a traveling group of some kind, are missing are big, blow-out arguments between the group. Especially when there's a conflict of interests, I am such a sucker for when two or more characters disagree so strongly that they realize very little is actually holding them together as a group, and wonder if it's time to go their separate ways.

I feel like a lot of video games, specifically, just kind of assume once the traveling band is "complete", it's forced to stay together until the player expressly permits it, but I don't really find that very compelling and a lot of times it feels more like they're relying on some kind of immediately strong bond that hasn't really been earned. Which is a shame, because in my opinion one of the best ways to strengthen that bond is to have the characters disagree and argue. Maybe they realize they're only being superficially held together and so they temporarily split up, only to then realize how much they've come to care for the others in the group. Then they reunite, make-up, formulate a plan to go forward, and boom, the group bond is that much stronger. Or maybe they don't even split up, and maybe they never learn to like each other, but they decide whatever cause their working toward is more important. Something else, bigger than them, is holding them together.

It just feels like a lot of potential is going to waste to just skip straight to the intense found family bond, without earning it.

G'raha on G'thoma

Among the texts G'raha acquired in his long tenure in the Crystal Tower, those that served both as ominous portent and beloved bedtime story, G'thoma Tia was little more than a footnote. The pivot upon which Hydaelyn's fate only lightly turned. The man who made the Warrior of Light…a Dragoon, I guess. He wandered into her bar one night and at that moment, fate diverged. (Which, as G'raha drolly observed, thumbing through the pages, it does with alarming frequency when it has anything to do with his work.)

But Thom was not more than anecdata in the Warrior of Lights' journey, according to the history books. A spouse who was tragically lost on the Fields of Cartenau. Beyond that, the library of The Crystarium was mute.

But now, through another quirk of Hydaelyn's mercy, G'raha knows better.

He has his suspicions that Thom carries a heavier fate, pulling it in his wake like a tender ship. He feels a similar pull when that rogue Ascian darkens his door. He remembers the sheer weight of Pryne's presence; the sensation that she carried the fate of stars on her shoulders, along with her very recent grief.

Now, watching Thom grin in the dim morning light, carrying their customary basket of Musicalis bagels and coffee up to the Tower, G'raha heart can't help but burst for this forgotten hero. This man whose immeasurable contributions will go unsung, just as his will be, if all goes to plan. This man who G'raha loves with all the strength left him, as if he could deliver Pryne's longing across the sundered universe.

If he could write the ending of his own story, G'raha would wish for family, this family. For Pryne and Thom to bring him back to The Source and shelter him in their embrace. But that cannot happen. In order to preserve the balance of life, he will need to sacrifice. He will sacrifice Thom. He will sacrifice their steadfast desire for each other, across the rift. And he will sacrifice his love for them both.

All to rescue the only hero he knows who can save all worlds.

"Raha, you ok? You haven't chewed your food in…uh, about a minute?"

The bread has turned to ash in his mouth. With great effort, G'raha musters the energy to swallow.

"I'm fine. Mind's wandering, is all."

while tsumi to batsu is the first vocaloid song I remember listening to, I feel like what made me truly get into vocal synths wasn't a song but rather a video that had a title like "all 60 utaus" (it might've been more I don't remember that well), which was actually just a niconico reupload of a cover medley that also served as a ranking of the most popular utaus at the time. like I watched a bunch of other utau rankings and medleys after that but THAT specific video was my cocomelon

update: holy shiiit I found the exact medley I was talking about. I completely forgot that the ending was like that. now I get why I rewatched it so many times
