i really do think that the most interesting way for rouxls to become a serious character is for him to keep his incompetence. like. as in he may have weird ass powers but he doesn't really know how to fully use them or even be fully aware of their full extent. i just CANNOT see him as someone with some huge overarching plan- he couldn't even be assed to come up with a real plan with what would happen after he played the houses game against ralsei and kris. he's just. not some sort of mastermind. at least, if he by some miracle he does turn out to actually be, i'll honestly be really disappointed because i feel like this angle is just so much more interesting. hell, you could even tie that in to his desire to serve- just because he may not know how to take advantage of those powers doesn't mean someone else won't, and i feel like the idea of him following along with someone else's plan fits a lot better with what we know about his character. i just really dislike the idea of "rouxls is the knight/gaster/deltarune version of sans" because it all just feels like it's trying to twist his character into some genius with a larger plan when i really just. love his character for being a fucking idiot. yknow.

ok so i finished up the chapters... have some definite thoughts so I'm just going to put down some initial rambles under the read more. spoilers for 3+4, obviously

-mike calling kris out as the fountain opener caught me off guard. it was cool seeing Susie talk herself around to getting it and even admitting that she probably would have too, but does anyone else think Ralsei dropped it suspiciously quickly?

-the channel switch mini game was so much fun but why is the golf channel in there. im so bad at video game golf. rouxls mocked me so much.

-ok ill admit the running "knock your socks off" joke got old and then swung around to incredibly funny again

-tenna is a cool antagonist... love the slow escalation of him getting more and more serious until he finally does that thing with Toriel. his breakdown at the end was kind of moving

-the secret boss fight took me so goddamn long until I figured out the radio feedback mechanism with the shield

-that scene after huh. kris i think managed to tell Susie something, but I'm still not sure what I think it was... i wonder if that'll show up later. will secret bosses start influencing plot?

-really liked Susie and Kris trying to explain to Toriel the next morning why they had to steal all her possessions. her facial expressions alone

-the Susie and Kris hangout sequence was great obv. the goobers. and wow Pluey real

-i dunno if I was expecting how they combined the church with the stored decorations, but it kind of ruled

the kind of relationship people imagine noelle and susie having is basically what ralsei and susie already have!

all of these fit ralsei and susie better than noelle and susie. susie does not tease noelle, noelle does not stand in the way of or even make mention of susie's shenanigans, susie hasn't made any acts of kindness towards noelle (not even a fucking non-canon valentine guys come on), susie only blushes around noelle like, one time? and it was because noelle embarrassed susie about her tail? and noelle's only act of kindness towards susie was buying her a box of fucking CHALK. something which susie is not only unflattered by, but actively upset about, because noelle had chalk the whole time, and didn't give it to alphys! buying her actual food would have been a kinder gesture, and would have shown a level of emotional maturity from noelle, to realize that eating things which aren't food is a sign of being hungry, and not having access to food, but no. chalk.

while the argument could be that they will progress into the kind of relationship ralsei and susie have, ralsei and susie are already there!

if suselle happens, i don't think it'll be like described. i think it'll be a lot different.

noelle, it seems, doesn't CARE who susie is as a person. she would be okay if susie just wanted to pick on her (in concept anyway) and is just as okay with her being a good person, or her eating chalk. noelle fawns over susie, but doesn't push her to change as a person. whatever susie wants to do is already fine. whatever susie likes is what she gets (even if it isn't what she needs.) susie is free from criticism. in fact, it seems to me like it'd be very similar to a certain other ship...

KRALSEI BITCHES

thats right! i think suselle and kralsei have very similar base constructions. one party treats the other with unconditional admiration and reverence, finds ways to excuse the behaviors they don't like about the other party, changes themselves to be whatever they think the other party would like, constantly wants to aquire the affection of the other party, blushes constantly around them, meanwhile the other party in question treats their behavior with indifference and confusion. a one-sided, unhappy relationship.

while there are differences here, like tea values and the difference between a horny lesbian crush and a master slave dynamic, i think there's a lot in common about what we've seen of noelle and susie together and what we've seen of kris and ralsei together. hell, they both get a slightly uncomfortable romantic carnival ride back to back, and while susie and noelle's ride has a happier conclusion of them just enjoying each other's company instead of awkwardly dropping the subject then engaging in real estate combat with rouxls kaard, its starting to seem to me like a parallel is being drawn.

further pushing this idea of a parallel is the fact that earlier, kris and noelle, and ralsei and susie go out on the town, so to speak! and things go. pretty well. unless you commit a lot of murder. assuming you don't commit murder, guess what! kris and noelle have a good time, and a pretty healthy happy dynamic! there's a lot of teasing, mutual respect, laughing, learning, thinking back on old times... they have a blast! in fact, they way they interact kind of reminds me of a certain other duo.

just like suselle and kralsei have parallels, so too do ralsusie and kriselle! one party is weird, dirty, mischievous, more competent than the other in combat, has some insecurity about themselves, likes teasing others and doesn't do well with emotional displays, and the other party is a lot more normal, well-mannered, less competent, but emotionally supportive, enjoys being teased and teasing back, and does what they can to show the first party that they care. noelle laughing along with kris, sharing chocolates with them, indulging them but not bending over for them, (like drinking poison, which noelle probably would have done for susie), looking to them for advice and safety in combat.

and what's more, you know what their healthy dynamic gets contorted into on a snowgrave route?!

Deltarune: Fool's Fate - Choral Chapel

The final area. The final destination on this journey where you will finally face off against the Priestess herself. (With her trusty right hand, the Magician.) However first you must make your way up the floors of the Choral Chapel. A pristine building with blue walls, purple halls, and plenty of rehearsal rooms. Not to mention a mysterious floor found beneath the dungeon...

A bit before fighting the Priestess, you'll find the Magician has himself a little shop somewhere before the second miniboss fight, similar to Rouxls. A certain picture on his wall of a castle in a land far away may even be used as a hint to find that which unlocks the mysterious room below. However that mystery isn't for here. Instead, a riddle.

41. I can push and prod in any direction, on wall paper, flowers, or ideas. And upon that all, report on that too. What am I?

The two types of enemies you face in the Choral Chapel are Tuxman and Fouetette. (They can also be NPCs in the Dungeon.) Tuxman, a dapper fellow, is based on a tuxedo. Tuxmen are the baritones of the Choir. Fouetette is an upgraded version of Pirolette, and its a ballerina figurine. Fouetette, alone with Pirolette, are the sopranos of the choir.

All of the NPCs besides Ariana are mostly encountered in the Dungeon, though some Oddball can still be found on the Baritone/Bass floor with the Tuxmen. They're based on magic 8-balls. Lintmouse is a mouse made of lint. You can find three of them in the Dungeon to get a new title. Locked Nick is a locked up skeleton, and based on a skeleton key.

Ariana is the Choir's music accompanist, and based off a piano. You encounter her during various piano puzzles spread out through out the upper floors of the Chapel. She's also accompanied by Tolle, which I'll get to a moment.

Mocking Jay is the first minibosses encountered in the Choral Chapel, and is fought right after CK escapes his cell. Asides from being a literal mocking bird, mocking and making fun of everyone, they are based on a cuckoo clock. MJ's neck can extend out like a cuckoo clock's bird. They are the Tenor lead of the Choir

Tolle is the second miniboss encountered in this area, shortly after passing Magician's shop. She's encountered with Ariana, after one of her piano puzzles. If it isn't obvious, Tolle is a bell. For whom the bell doth Tolle. She is the Alto lead for the Choir, and sort of an upgrade/boss for the Chim-Chimes.

The Herta

WHERE DO WE EVEN BEGIN. SHE IS NARCISSISM FR ‼️ For context, she's a member of the in-universe Genius Society, a follower of the God of Knowledge, and a scientific prodigy.

She made a bunch of remote control puppets of herself, and programmed them all with her personality so if she doesn't want to go somewhere she can just send a proxy. She also uses them to complete mundane tasks, so she can focus on her experiments.

A lot of hierarchical thinking, even a canon EP (equal person). She doesn't see anyone as on her level (even her own puppets)- except for Screwllum, a fellow member of the Genius Society, who she directly refers to as her equal. According to her, "He's better than me in logic and finesse. I'm better than him in talent and achievements. We stand toe-to-toe in taste and dress." She's also much more polite with other geniuses and scientists, but she still won't hesitate to be harsh and critical if she thinks they're wrong. She's capable of being kind of civil if someone is interesting. If someone isn't a genius, scientist, or interesting, though, she straight-up won't talk to them.

She shamelessly admires her appearance a lot. Multiple of her animations involve her staring into a mirror/painting of herself, and she notes that the Goddess of Beauty lost a potential follower when Herta decided to follow Knowledge.

Herta entire schtick is based on hyping herself up. Justifiably, because she's one of the smartest people in her universe. But she also uses her smarts to stop herself from aging and create clones of herself that hype her up, which is classic NPD behavior.

Rouxls prides himself on being “the duke of puzzles” and presents himself as high and mighty, going so far as to speak in a phony Shakespearean accent which is very likely put on. He loudly proclaims himself as superior, deeming others “worms”. Rouxls’ puzzle-making skills vary but are typically rudimentary, and yet he treats them as grand creations. Still, this confidence isn’t the most solid, as he panics upon being proven wrong, and will flee the scene when able.

bare with me, i'm tired, BUT i've been thinking about rouxls kaard a lot so here goes

i'll probably sound dumb for this, but i genuinely believe rouxls has to be more than a "haha stupid silly puzzle guy", like there's so much we have yet to learn about him. again, maybe i'm dumb, but it just seems oddly suspicious this guy speaks in some weird, old, and grammatically incorrect english dialect (that tends to slip-up when he's taken off-track).

this is definitely a stretch and has shaky evidence, but rouxls could be the roaring knight, or deeply affiliated with them. hear me out guys:

r.k: rouxls kaard OR r.k: roaring knight. see?? i gotta be delusional but at the same time.... there's gotta be more to rouxls than we think. not to mention, that sign he vandalized in a puzzle from chapter one states "i make my own rules" (or something similar, going off the top of my head here...). yes, that could be him just being his goofy self, but there could be so much more to it. to what extent does he make the rules? and, assuming he can really make stuff up, could he change rules already set in stone?

A not canon RP interaction: The April 1st Acting or In-Character incident and memes related to it

Ok, so a few days ago, on April 1st, I did a joke or a gag RP in the sibling server of the Immersive Daydreaming Discord server.

Basically, the main concept is that the main duo, Jellyfish Duo (SpongeBob and Lusamine) roleplay as their canon selves as a joke or a prank. Yes, for a pretty limited time in the ID RP server on that specific day, you'd get messages from them like this.

Pardon the grammar mistakes, I type to quickly because I got excited for the occasion. It's also pretty funny in concept because they're actors and they're imitating their canon selves for shits and giggles. Like, to get a reaction or something.

Lus drop the bit too early at some point, but quickly picked it back up. The actress proxy was like, "Noooo, our prank!" before I deleted the message.

For further context, they're actors and entities who are made to act as the characters to entertain us audiences. They do this by wearing their meat suits that resembles as these characters.

It was alright and it went smoothly, but then...

@make-a-mercy-out-of-me (midnight)'s Rouxls Kaard from their paracosm, Multiverse Mayhem, logged in on Lusamine being in-character, and everything escalated to a hundred really quick.

Just a quick summary behind why shit hit the fan and went out of the window: Rouxls Kaard interloped into the pokemon world after Emmet in Satan/Giratina form ate the Deltarune world. Rouxls then meet all sorts of people, one of them being a game canon compliant Lusa. Shenanigans and an abusive situationship ensued until Lus went coco for coco puffs and fused with the Nihilego, which Rouxls then explodes to save her children. And Rouxls and the plot wasn't the same after that.

Now whenever Rouxls meet the Actress entity who was forced to play as the Bitch during the RP interactions, they'd almost always have a beef because the other's existence, lore, and traumas trigger each other's traumas and add salt to their in-lore wounds. With Lusa's vessel triggering Rouxls's Mayhemverse traumas while Rouxls's accusations and death threats are triggering Lusamine's Screenverse traumas from being constantly blamed for her character's actions and being heavily associated with her sins.

Fast forward to the April Fools RP interaction, and the prank starts falling apart because the prank worked too well on Rouxls for game Actress Lusamine's end. So well that a Mouse Live Performance moment recreated itself and slapped her in the face! Well, at least the part where Lusamine almost died to a hate crime during her act. She didn't get to fight back though (sadly for her)

I even insert another Live Performance scenario reference where the actor speaks in their mind or their thoughts while they play out the character. I just thought that it was so cool to show that this isn't the real Lusamine but rather an imitation entity using her skills for "evil" (a prank). SpongeBob even called her out on referencing Rouxls's past messages and, quote unquote, "taking this a bit too far" because she was referencing and rehashing or remixing some of canon Lusamine's lines.

Now, why did she do all that? Well, originally, she was planning to strike first after giving Rouxls a breakdown or a meltdown. And THEN she'll drop the act after that being all like, "You thought it was game canon Lusamine, but it was I! HER ACTRESS!"

However... Things didn't go as she intended. As it was mentioned, it backfired so bad that she got severely injured during the prank.

Character Breakage!

And then an argument between the ex-comedic reliefs-now-depressed paras from their respective paracosms happen. Usually, SpongeBob is the middle man between the two during their beefs for the sake of safety and damage control. But for this interaction, it was SpongeBob taking the lead of the beef because Rouxls put Lus out of commision at that point.

Pocket Lusa!

Sponge put Lus out of further harm and he started arguing with Rouxls. It gets more intense after that.

And then another para from Multiverse Mayhem stepped in and stopped the argument escalating to a death battle by hurling strong sedatives at Rouxls. Everything went back to being fine and dandy after that, but now Lusa's pissed that Rouxls attacked her during her act like the mouse all over again.

Speaking of Forever, they're in somewhat better terms compared to Rouxls since they're all actors, and Forever gets vibe checked by his own society for having a bad creator or a bad person for a creator. So Lus kiiiiinnndddaa gelled well with Actor Forever due to their similar experiences. The bond's bare bones though because of how Forever has better ties with Rouxls Kaard compared to every time she interacted with him herself. Whethere she's mad at Forever, Rouxls, or her own character is up to who she'd be put her anger on at the moment...

What's even funnier about the continuation of the prank is that the para of a different friend didn't get any of the references SpongeBob was saying because she doesn't watch television and stuff.

Their bit ended once the time frame ended. It extended a bit longer because of the lack of people who were free to RP at the time, and I want to RP the Jellyfish Duo doing the bit for a little longer.

Edit: the last bit sounded like I used Lusa's canon proxy together with SpongeBob's. No, "canon Lusamine" had to leave early or else her actress might die (temporarily) to another prank sabotage.

For me, Jevil has a soft spot for kids (ex, Lancer)

aaaa i have so many, though not much for the fun gang as we approach more dr chapters, but i've mainly thrown headcanons onto the darkners here

for the addisons, i feel like all of them are night owls/never getting much sleep. They work a lot, but the transition to castle town has given them a bit of a break. Spamton, out of all of them, never/barely sleeps, being kept up by his own plan-making and next attempt at getting his sales to skyrocket, though always to fail. This only got worse in his post-big-shot years where constant attempts on the mansion kept him endlessly busy. He doesn't rest, and so he'll work himself until he crashes.

jevil is the opposite, at least to me! i'd like to imagine his time in the card kingdom (prior to his imprisonment) he would sleep often, since the joker card isn't used in many games (if at all). He'd sleep in the scarlet forest mainly, where i headcanon he got approached by the same being that helped spamton out. Seam set him up a little hammock near the ceiling so that he could sleep while they worked on mage-type stuff. Post-imprisonment, it was entertaining himself with solo-led games, perfecting his fighting patterns, and sleeping a lot. It would be kind of cool if, in contrast to spamton meeting their shared benefactor over the phone, jevil met him in a dream, until waking up and finding the dream was real.

Though i do like that headcanon that jevil has a soft spot for kids, i feel it's incredibly rare nowadays as he doesn't care much for anything anymore, rather than pure fun and chaos (he did try to kill three of them after all, and not out of desperation like spamton had but just because of the game). Like, his mind has cracked since his imprisonment, but he sees the potential for others to see past their own imprisonment and stir up some trouble for the nature of things. I feel he'd really like Susie especially, and Noelle for her ability to disrupt the narrative (like her objecting the player's snowgrave command at first). Though i do like the idea prior-imprisonment him trying to play games with Lancer, and Seam joining in. Though Jevil does not care for rouxls whatsoever and pities his existence above anyone else's. Something about being tied to "Rules" just doesn't sit well with him.

I definitely side on jevil knowing about the roaring, and the knight, but telling us would spoil the fun of the player finding out before the real fun has began. On the other hand, spamton desperately wants to tell Kris, to help them get an upper hand on us controlling them, but can't. I feel he's been conditioned in his time being puppeted to short out mentally whenever bringing such a topic up as seen in-game.

speaking of jevil, i headcanon he took a liking to spamton immediately, seeing how different he was from the other addisons and wanted to see what route his fate would start to go down as they both discovered more and more about what was really going on in their universe. Spamton was too focused on everything else to bother to care what jevil was or what his purpose was, but Jevil would return home to excitedly tell Seam everything about the puppeted salesman from the digital world.

onto darkners from the digital world, i feel like swatch took the brunt of the work preventing spamton from getting too close to neo, so when they physically couldn't take his wacky antics anymore, they reached out to Tasque manager, who helped them set up all the traps in the basement. She's dealt with spamton a handful of times, and one time had him captured so Swatch could try and talk to him and make one final attempt to reason with him, but he was too far gone at that point, deadset on neo.

that's all i got so far! just a few that have been swirling around in my brain for awhile lol, ! it keeps this 2+ year time without a new chapter just a little more fun :D

I realized that I haven't made a single SwilTaett update here since I revealed it now being owned by me, and I hope that this post can be a good source of understanding (as well as also acting as a 'SwilTaett Masterpost')!

First, the Cast Designs for SwilTaett's very own Three Heroes! There are two sets of designs made so far (with the second image being what's currently canon), and here's what they look like:

In regards to Amstda (the ghost thing from that's kinda like Mad Dummy), they're situation and plans are being entirely reconsidered by Me and the COB MOB (yes that is our actual team name). Instead of just being a reskin Ralsei Replacement, Amstda will now be introduced in ACT 3, potentially related to a certain yearning for the mines! Also, Jack's design in the Heavens has an Overworld Sprite and it looks like this:

It's the boy! The naive, yet kindhearted sidekick himself, ready to turn into whatever is needed to get the job done!

Next up is the Secret Bosses! ACT 1's Secret Boss can currently be shown right now, and that's Doenor! The once cheerful and happy party planner, turned into a cold and distant prisoner...

HIIII YES IM NUMBER ONE GASTER FAN IN THE WORLD I HAVE A BILLION HCS !!!

•Points at my pfp and then looks at you with my eyes. Gaster is very much a transfem/genderqueer lesbian to me !! I got enlightened from a vision months ago. For even longer I’ve hc’ed Gaster to be intersex and using it/its pronouns!!

•Gaster created the Darkners! It’s my current theory as of now and I’m OBSESSED!! It’s such a fun concept thinking of them as his OCs! It ties into the implications that Gaster created the Dark Worlds very well as well as its interactions with Spamton and Jevil—they’re its little meow meows to me. Other concepts I had include Rouxls Kaard being Gaster’s old repurposed persona (I have a whole post about it and everything) and Starwalker and Nubert originating from doodles he did at work or maybe from being bored in college. Ralsei is definitely his current favorite OC it should be really obvious.

•Gaster is a man of many trades! Woodworking, the arts, crocheting, puppetry, mechanics, you name it! This also relates to the second hc! String puppet Spamton, Jack-in-the-box Jevil, little Beanie Baby Seam, custom playing cards with all the Chapter one Darkners—they’re his tuoys :)

• It ALWAYS speaks very ominously and cryptically—that’s how he was before he got shattered and that’s how it always will be. I like to imagine he makes long pauses after every phrase and then picks up at the weirdest moments because it’s silly like that. I actually have a joke where I take random memes that remind me of Gaster and put them in all caps and add ellipses after every word on Discord—here’s a compilation of my faves:

• Gaster’s relationship with the Player is very intimate—in the close fondness way not the sexual kind. This can be actually supported by tweets AND DID YOU KNOW THAT HES THE ONE SINGING DONT FORGET!! IN THE JP VERSION THE LYRICS ARE IN GASTER’S SPEECH PATTERNS !! HES WITH ME IN THE DARK !!!

Blab about Lancer

Ah yes, always a grand idea :D!

I'm gonna try and keep what I say here reasonably fresh as I don't feel like repeating what I've said about the bounciest boi in the past, though if anyone wants me to repeat myself lemme know because I'll definitely do it hehe :>.

I just wanna gush about Rouxls Kaard in terms of Lancer for a bit, firstly because I haven't done this much to begin with, and secondly because I ABSOLUTELY ADORE THESE TWO. Rouxls I don't care how much you complain about Lancer it's obvious you care for the kid's well being and you SHOULD because said kid is a pure precious cinnamon roll who couldn't hurt a mosquito. Every time I see fanart depicting Rouxls as being a parental guardian of sorts for Lancer it makes me melt because it's so PRECIOUS, honestly keeping an eye on Lancer is one of the only things Rouxls Kaard is good--or at least decent--at. And you can't tell me the "Lesser Dad" nickname isn't adorable, if you don't find that adorable then you have issues. I don't know if I've ever brought up this "surrogate guardian" sort of thing going on between these characters but I am now! 10/10, both Rouxls Kaard & Lancer are too beloved for this world, 'nuff said. (<- I still prefer Spade King as an overall parent/guardian don't worry lol.)

Speaking of Spade King though, I really like the situation he & Lancer are currently in father/son relationship-wise. It is pretty depressing at the moment, but that's honestly what makes it work. I love seeing new family dynamics in Deltarune, something fresh y'know? It's an entirely different scenario with more recent characters. I know how beloved the Dreemurr family are in the UT/DR community, and they're amazing characters for sure, but I really prefer Spade King & Lancer's dynamic. It feels more REAL. The events themselves aren't that realistic ofc, but the emotions & reactions both sides have feel more reasonable. I'm not sure if this is even making sense and I'm going on a tangent anyway.

But yeah, back to Spade King & Lancer. I love how we're actively going to SEE both characters (hopefully) work out their differences and begin to mend that relationship. And we also will likely see how each side's current situation affects them, likely in more ways than one. Sure, both Lancer & Spade King are mostly hiding such things behind a facade, but you KNOW it's there. And THAT is what makes it so impactful. You know both characters are going through such inner turmoil, especially Lancer. His father literally hates the only friends he's ever had, and that puts poor ol' Lancer smack in the middle of everything. It's like that feeling you get when two close friends are fighting and you're the mutual third party, but multiplied SO many times. Honestly, I've said it before, and I will say it again; a breakdown of SOME sort HAS to happen to Lancer at some point. I doubt Spade King will have such a moment because Spade King, but he'll still feel it inwardly I'm sure. There is no feasible way a literal CHILD can carry on the burden of so much without crumbling under the pressure.

Which brings me to something that I admittedly have mentioned before, but I just have to bring it up again. Lancer has gone through SO MUCH for a child his age. It's doesn't matter what age you headcannon Lancer as: What he has and is currently going through are things NO child should experience, EVER. I'm not even talking about only the Spade King situation anymore, I'm talking about EVERYTHING. What makes all Lancer has been through that much worse is the fact of him being AWARE of it all. He's not oblivious, and he's not clueless either. He's ASTONISHINGLY observant, ESPECIALLY for his age. I would even argue Lancer is one of the most observant Deltarune characters so far, even if he never announces it. He certainly hints at it here and there, like when he told Kris, Susie, & Ralsei that the other Darkners aren't major fans of him.

This entire thing makes me think of a line Lancer said during his battle alongside Susie with Kris & Ralsei. The first time you, as the player, tell Ralsei to "give the final blow of kindness" to Lancer, Susie blocks it off so Lancer can't hear. And Lancer says he's "blissfully ignorant". Call me crazy, but I don't think that specific phrase was an accident. Of course, Deltarune is only a game after all, so it was Toby Fox who put that line in. But if we think about this through the perspective of Lancer himself, I see him stating what he WISHES he was. He WISHES he was "blissfully ignorant" from everything around him: knowing the fact of the other Darkners not liking him to dealing with an impossibly complex parenting situation and everything in between.

See, I think there's a very unique tragedy with Lancer. One that most characters Toby Fox has created haven't been able to replicate. Think of Asriel from Undertale for a minute. Asriel had loving PARENTS, plural, and he even got a sibling in the form of Chara for a time. Asriel's entire family was well-respected and loved by the other monsters, and for the longest time, Asriel didn't have a lot of burdens to bear. It was only at the short time leading up to & including his own DEATH, & what came after, where things started to go downhill. Asriel essentially had it all while he was alive, then lost it upon death.

And now, think of Lancer. I would say Lancer is the exact opposite of Asriel in this way. First, Lancer's family is a crumbled mess. He barely knows his mother--Queen--has a biological father in the form of Spade King, who was (and certainly is) likely not a perfect parent, and that really only leaves Rouxls Kaard as a somewhat decent parental guardian. Already, we see a major difference. And once we broaden our view and see both kingdoms with their citizens, well, Asriel and Lancer could not possibly be more opposite. There was not ONE Darkner Lancer felt appreciated by, save for those above him in power & position, which is really only Spade King (ignoring the other Kings when they ruled). The ONLY time Lancer felt genuine connection with others was the day Kris & Susie first appeared in the Dark World. That is IT. Generally, in terms of how his current life has been so far, Lancer's is far from ideal. Hence, Lancer & Asriel are opposites in this case.

I think I've run out of things to say as far as this post goes lol, and it's already preeetty long. Though, let's end this post on a high note! Lancer has actual friends now, friends who will stand by for whatever support he may need. Heck, if Kris, Ralsei, & Susie--especially Susie--were all willing to respect Lancer's wishes and attempt to resolve everything peacefully with Spade King in Chapter 1, who KNOWS what's to come in future chapters! I for one can't wait to see where Lancer's story goes :)!

For character asks; 3 and 19 for Elymas?

3. What was the first thing you decided on, name, appearance, personality, or role?

For all of my secret boss ocs, the first thing I came up with had to be the role. I knew I was making a character to fill the niche of Spamton or Jevil in a chapter take (in Elymas's case, chapter 4, which I still believe will take place in the church), and thus went from there.

I know it still took me some brainstorming though, I don't think I really got an idea for what I wanted until @parakeetlover3 suggested something on my Discord server when I was talking about Chapter 4 take ideas. I think they had pitched the idea of some dove/crow and a broken ring, which then eventually became Elymas.

19. What is your general favorite thing about the character? What is your least favorite?

I love SO MUCH about Elymas. I think some of the things I love the most are their personality and design. They're such a pompous little prick of a bird, who's so entitled and full of themself, despite being a tiny little bird thing who holds no power whatsoever. It's the same sense of pompousness that makes me like Spamton I think, the kind that makes you want to see them get punched. It makes Elymas and Britni's dynamic really fun.

And their design is something I'm VERY proud of. Being a seraph, I needed to find a way to incorporate 6 wings into the design, which I think I did well. Two are their arms, two on their back, and two covering the eyes. The ones covering their eyes also plays into the blinded false prophet. Not to mention their broken halo forming horns, or the addition of purple after the "gasterification" turning their dove like look into more of a crow.

As for my least favorite thing about the character... Either their text quirk or their lore. Elymas's text quirk certainly isn't as difficult to write for compared to Spamton or Bitsy, it's really just them talking in ye old English (better that Rouxls at least), but I think that's part of my issue. Doesn't really feel like a text quirk, and is more just their way of speaking. Not sure I'd change it, but I think if it was in an actual game, then it'd be in a different font than other characters.

For lore, considering how still underdeveloped my chapter 4 take is, and will likely continue to be, Elymas's lore is currently restrained to just involve them. With Bitsy I've been able to incorporate more characters and flesh out her lore more, which I really enjoy, but I just don't have enough of my Chapter 4 take to do that for Elymas.

Me explaining the abilities Rouxls has as the Rules Card has been long overdue, so here it is now! Better late than never, I suppose.

Rouxls has two separate powers at his disposal, the first and simplest of these being his teleportation. He, of course, does this several times in-game, and is capable of transporting both himself and other people (though teleporting other people takes more effort and energy than it does for himself, and teleporting multiple people at one time is the most difficult). Rouxls can teleport himself to anywhere he has physically seen in-person and knows the general location of.

His other ability is far more interesting, though, and is the actual focus of this post. I call it "House Rules".

With House Rules, Rouxls is able to use the magic he has as the Rules Card to create his own rules for himself or other people. Hence its name! He's quite literally creating his own house rules for the world and game that is Deltarune.

Rouxls has a certain number of "spell slots" available to him to create House Rules with, and the amount of slots an individual rule takes up varies depending on how difficult it is to enforce. He doesn't need to "recharge" these slots like you would for spell slots in D&D—it's just a limit to the amount of House Rules he can keep active at one time (so it works more like Charm Notches in Hollow Knight). I haven't decided exactly how many spell slots Rouxls has though.

The exact "cost" of a single House Rule can also fluctuate based on the people affected by it. If everyone involved agrees to the rule, then it takes less magic for Rouxls to keep it up. On the other hand, though, if Rouxls tries to create a rule that nobody else wants, then it'll be extremely hard for him to keep it active. He might still be able to force it into existence if he really wants to, but depending on the House Rule's "base cost" and how opposed to it everyone else is, it might take all of Rouxls' spell slots just to uphold that one rule. Similar to when you're playing with house rules in a real card or board game!

Rouxls keeps this aspect of his ability tightly under wraps, though. After all, if his opponents knew they could influence his House Rules and potentially shut down anything he tries to do, then that leaves him basically helpless and unable to do anything beyond just teleporting away. Most people don't even know that Rouxls can create House Rules at all. As of the end of Chapter 2, the only people he's told about the ability are the King of Spades (since that's why he hired Rouxls), Lancer (just from spending a lot of time around Rouxls), and possibly Queen (maybe Rouxls tried to impress her with his powers in the hopes of getting her to hire him). And nobody knows about the "opposing the rule makes it harder for Rouxls to create it" part of it.

In order to create a new House Rule, Rouxls must 1) Activate his magic in some way with the intent of creating a new rule, and 2) Verbally state the rule that is being created out loud. Because of the activation requirement, Rouxls will never create a House Rule by accident just by speaking normally. Deleting any of his existing House Rules can be done silently, on Rouxls' command at any time he pleases.

For example, Rouxls' ability to float is not actually something he can naturally do—he's granted himself that power using his House Rules. It's something he keeps active pretty much permanently, since this rule in particular hardly costs any of his magic.

While in the Cyber World in Chapter 2, Rouxls has one other House Rule active: one that makes him immune to the statue-fication that is supposed to occur from being in a different Dark World. This is why he takes so much longer to turn to stone compared to Lancer (and never does fully turn) in the normal route, and why when it does start to happen, it's instantaneous. Upholding this rule is, of course, extremely hard to do, given that it goes directly against how the Dark World works. That one House Rule takes up practically all of his power, with just enough left to let him keep his floating ability. At the end of his fight, however, he tries to use House Rules yet again, in order to show off his "REALE Power". Of course, all of his spell slots are already full, forcing him to dismiss the statue-immunity rule to make room for the new one (which he did without thinking about the consequences at all dgdgshf). By that point, enough time had already passed that the only thing keeping Rouxls from becoming a statue was his House Rule, so with that gone, he started turning to stone immediately and rapidly. Luckily for him, he was able to at least preserve his head by cancelling the other House Rule (and perhaps also his floating one out of panic, which is why he crashed to the ground soon afterward) and reactivating his immunity one quickly enough, which he kept activated until he was returned to Castle Town.

Generally, when creating House Rules that directly affect a person (be it himself or someone else), he can only impact them physically, not mentally or emotionally. For  example, Rouxls would able to change someone's stats during a battle. But, he can't do something like "New Rule: Swatch now wants to make me Butler Supremeth!". He's got rule-making abilities, not mind control dgshshsf.

Also, as you could probably guess, different House Rules can have similar effects, but notably different costs to maintain them. For example, it is much easier to uphold a rule that claims "I, Rouxls Kaard, now have 5 additional points of defence", compared to a rule that says "Kris now has 5 less points of attack", since Kris has a much greater ability to reject a rule that directly affects them. So Rouxls has to be smart with the House Rules he creates if he wants to be efficient with his spell slots (and he usually is, since he's had these powers all his life and is accustomed to how they work).

So yes! Those are the two abilities Rouxls has. As you may have noticed, that means that he isn't capable of any sort of offensive magic. House Rules makes him an extremely useful support unit—likely one of, if not the best at it among all Darkners. But, that's all he is, and he's pretty much useless in a fight if he doesn't have some sort of ally or weapon that can do damage for him. That's why in Chapter 1, he summons a buffed up K. Round to fight Kris and co. instead of doing it himself. And in Chapter 2, the Thrash Machine is the one actually attacking most of the time. The one exception to this is the box attack Rouxls uses, but those aren't made of magic at all. The sprites are exactly the same as the puzzle boxes he has in the overworld. He's just throwing regular-ass boxes at you because there's nothing else he can do lmao.

I was planning on including my thoughts on what a secret boss-type fight against Rouxls would be like, but this post is already super long so I'm just gonna make that its own separate post. And that one'll go up... Eventually dgsgshs
