Valentine’s Day with my fav ADA members!

Characters included: Atsushi and Kunikida. I was gonna include Francis but I don’t wanna keep you guys waiting any longer</3

This will consist of sfw and nsfw hcs of what I think my favs would do with you on valentine’s day:3 there will be a separate wc and tags for each character! Reader is afab + gn in each chapter

Keep in mind that this is taking a more western take on Valentine’s Day. I know that the more realistic day for this to take place would be White Day, but I don’t know nearly enough about it to comfortably write it. Writing it this way just made it easier on me!!

• Atsushi goes crazy on Valentine’s. He doesn’t really know a lot of the things that people do because he grew up in a generally unromantic place, but he goes crazy once you tell him that it’s just a holiday where you show your appreciation for someone!

• He had heard that you buy people chocolates for Valentine’s before, but he didn’t know how much truth was in that tradition so he didn’t risk it. But my god he absolutely melted when you returned home after a long day of work with a box of chocolates just for him?? They were nice too! He could tell that they were a pretty penny. He felt bad for not getting you anything, but you insisted that you didn’t mind. It’s his first Valentine’s Day after all! You wanted to pamper him.

• Nonetheless, he ran to the store first thing in the morning the following day and bought you some chocolate, and he was very pleased to see that they were half off! He is on a budget after all..

• He most certainly tried to make up for it for the rest of the night though. He’s always had a preference for taking care of you, it makes him feel like he’s doing something right. He would like to take you out to eat somewhere, but he doesn’t have nearly enough money to take you somewhere nice, but he did take you out to a normal dinner. Nothing crazy romantic, but it was sweet. He’s learned what your favorite foods are, so he’s spent a lot of time learning where your favorites are sold for a less expensive price.

• Once you are finished, I’d like to imagine Atsushi would prefer to watch a movie, but I don’t think you’d get very far before he’d be all over you. He’d have you straddle his hips and kiss you deeply for as long as possible. He’s always liked this part of sex, after all. When you two are still fully clothed, grinding against one another.

Kunikida told you that he decided to take the day off for the both of you, so he could really show his appreciation for you. He never does that, so it made your heart melt a little because it proved that he truly did care about you.

• As we all know, Kunikida is a really good cook. You could swear that what he served you tasted like it was straight out of a restaurant! Your endless compliments inevitably made the tips of Kunikida’s ears heat up, and of course he told you to stop messing around and eat your food.

• Once you were finished, you told him to get back into bed. He doesn’t have work today, so he should be lazy too! He sighed but did as you asked, today was about what you wanted after all. He’d be lying if he said the idea wasn’t alluring.

• You two sat in comfortable silence, wrapping your legs around him and holding him close. You’d nuzzle your head into his chest, allowing Kunikida to rest his head atop yours.

• Kunikida did love this, but he couldn’t keep still for long before feeling like he’s being lazy and needing to get up, so of course he’d force you out of bed.

• “I have a whole day planned, so you better get dressed and ready.”

• You rushed out of bed to get ready, he always took very little time to get ready after all! • You two enjoyed a nice dinner. It wasn’t crazy expensive, but it was still rather nice. You could tell it was going to be worth more than you wanted him to pay on your own, so you demanded to at least pay for your meal! He tried to tell you that he really didn’t mind, that he actually liked things this way, but he couldn’t win against you. So, he had to turn to less fair methods.

• You were in the middle of trying to convince him to let you pay, but he interrupted you. “Ah, dear, you’ve got something on your face,”

• “What is it?” You rubbed the tip of your nose, and cheeks, trying to figure out what it was. Kunikida just shrugged, and you made your way over to the bathroom, and Kunikida used that time to pay for dinner.

• By the time you realized what he did, it was too late and he was already waiting in the doorway for you.

• “You’re so sneaky!” You held his hand, before eventually wrapping your whole arm around his.

• “What can I say?” He smiled, looking over to you. “Today is all about you.”

• You mumbled something to yourself, but ultimately chose to stay quiet. Kunikida noticed your dress was short sleeved, and as cliche as it sounds, he took off his blazer and put it on your shoulders. You giggled to yourself, rolling your eyes at how cliche it was.

• “How romantic,” you said sarcastically. He shrugged again, wrapping his arms around you. It was dark out, and you could tell he wanted to hold you close out of worry.

• You got back to your guys’ shared apartment, caught off guard when he kissed you, placing his hands on your shoulders to push you against the door. He pushed his knee between your thighs, grinding against your cunt. You let out a small noise of friction, making Kunikida smile against your lips.

• You lead him to your bedroom, undoing his button up and pulling his pants down just enough to pull his cock out.

Ah, it's hard to pick a favorite! Here are a few that I really enjoyed:

Gallery AU (Keith and Shiro from VLD fanfic) by @trytofocus - Keith is a prisoner in a secret, highly prestigious gallery where subjects are displayed in all manners of artful bondage for the entertainment of rich patrons. Shiro is one such patron. And he isn't nice. (Be warned that this fic is 18+, as it contains adult elements and themes, and is NSFW) Why I love it: God, the mental images are SO GOOD. The way that Keith is treated as a living, breathing, unwilling art piece... the emotions, the way things are described, the care and reverence taken in tying him up and putting him on display, the way that Shiro appreciates him, the attitude that Keith gives... It's so freaking good, and it gives me crazy whumperflies. I wish there was more!

Death Valley (also on AO3) by @ashintheairlikesnow - In 2003, Finn Schneider left Germany for a month-long planned trip around the United States. Somewhere around Death Valley, he disappeared. But he wasn't alone. (Be warned that this fic is 18+, as it contains noncon, murder, and is NSFW) Why I love it: This was the second whump fic that I ever read, and it was integral in getting me into the whumpsphere! I feel SO SO SO bad for Finn, what he goes through, and how he is in his future. It's one of those stories that makes me go "OH NO BB LET ME FIX IT FOR YOU ;A;" but this poor guy has seen and been through far too much. It's brutal. Even the flash forward has me on the edge of my seat and only wanting the best for him. I hope this poor man finds love, joy, and peace.

Brother's Keeper by @darkthingshappen - Ben Adkins' life changes forever when his brother Jake fails to pay what is owed to some powerful men. Will he be able to survive his harrowing experience and return to his family? (Be warned that this fic is 18+, as it contains explicit noncon and is NSFW) Why I love it: Phew, this one is intense! It's one of those fics that made me go "OH DAMN." a lot. I actually had to read this one out of order a bit because (spoilers) thereʻs a recovery arc... followed by a recapture arc. I had to save some of the recovery arc to read when things got too tough and I needed some joy for the characters, because GEEZ. Poor Ben!! Poor Jake! Poor Andrei! Volkov and his guys are sick SOBs and just merciless. Itʻs so whumpy. I had to skip a chapter or two due to some of my own personal squicks, but other than that, if youʻre looking for some guys having a super bad time, this is a great fic for that!

King of The Road by @darkthingshappen - George and Danny find themselves in the hands of a very sick and twisted trucker. What will happen to them as his newest victims? (Be warned that this is fic 18+, as it contains explicit noncon and is NSFW) Why I love it: The trucker is horrible!! An absolutely evil vile terrible sick guy!!! I have to know what happens to George and Danny! Thereʻs not much of the fic yet, but Iʻm frothing at the mouth waiting for more. The brutality is so whumperiffic, and I already desperately want to save them, so you know things are on a good track!

Secrecy by @doomeddestination - A young spy is captured by a mysterious man known only as Shepard. (Be warned that this fic is 18+, as it contains explicit noncon and is NSFW) Why I love it: Calico is such a great writer, and her dedication to her stories and characters is INSANE. This story was the first one of hers that I read, and it introduced me to Ander, who is another character that I simply wish to wrap in a blanket and give tea to and take care of forever. This poor guy just needs a break. Shepard is awful, and the suspense in the story is so great. Thereʻs a whole multitude of AUs and stories that contain these characters as well, so lots of stuff to check out! ... ... ... If Ander never gets to canonically see his mom again, I will riot in the streets. LET A GOOD THING HAPPEN TO HIM.

The Mountain Man by @darkthingshappen - A kidnapper has his sights on a hockey player and sets a plan into motion to get him into his clutches. Why I love it: Getting into the head of the whumper as he stalked and planed his capture was so cool. I loved the confusion and delirium that the hockey player showed, especially when things started to get scary. I think this story was meant to be a one-shot, but Iʻd gladly dig into more of it if it got continued!

Hazel's story by @starrywhump - A group of college students is kidnapped by a sadistic whumper who has no qualms about torturing them. Why I love it: This was the FIRST whump fic I ever found and read! I wouldnʻt be in the community now if not for this fic. I have no idea how I stumbled across it, but Iʻm so glad I did, because it introduced me to whump lingo, whump blogs, and this whole crazy world. I love the characters, the whumper is creepy and intimate, and some of what she does is just nasty and brutal. I donʻt know what happened to the author (the blog hasnʻt been updated in like three years), but I hope that theyʻre happy and doing well wherever they are. I love the fic, and would love to read more if they ever decided to continue!

There are so so so many other great fics out there, but these are just the few that come to mind off the top of my head! Any other fans of these stories out there? :O

I have a serious question. So, do you fully comprehend how awesome you are? Because damn. You’re legit one of my fav artists. You just consistently churn out these heartfelt masterpieces—sketches, doodles, finished or unfinished, they all MEAN something. You’ve also ALWAYS been so nice to talk to. I often get discouraged by the lack of interaction I get on platforms when I try to go outside my comfort zone and reach out, especially on Twitter. But any time I’ve asked a question or made a comment, you always take the time to respond and that’s just…so kind of you. So considerate. You don’t have to do that, but you do and it’s just lovely.

Anyway… I randomly remembered you saying that you didn’t feel as comfortable drawing Donnie and I just have to say that, whether it feels more comfortable now or not, he looks fantastic! Then again, every character you draw does! And of course Leo is my fav—my comfort character—so I’m not going to lie, it’s fun to see you draw so much of him.

I just can’t get over all the details in your work. I’m no artist, but I can appreciate how much emotion goes into your art. The squiggly lines when someone is nervous, the specific looks in their eyes, small details like scratching when anxious (I know I commented on that on a previous post)—you’re just so great with showing emotion!

Of Dancing and Starless Nights

Chapter 1: An unexpected proposition

Pairing: Alastor x fem! Reader

In which a strange proposition is made and many questions are left unsaid.

Author's corner: Hi everyone! First time writing for Alastor because I've been in quite a brainrot recently! English is not my first language and I hope I gave the characters justice. This, as you can tell is going to be a fic with more chapters, nothing too long though! Just an excuse to write about a ball and romantic tension with our favorite deer demon! The hotel was strangely quiet that evening, that was something she noticed from the start of that morning.

Uneventful days like this one were few, and far in between. There was always something going on in this little corner of hell she had learned to call home.

But today was different, relaxed.

Too relaxed, even.

Charlie was out with her girlfriend for a well deserved day off. And Angel hadn't caused any trouble yet, preferring to retire to his room rather quickly as he muttered something about Val being a dick and "long shifts", a tray of red smoke behind him.

She could only offer him a sympathetic look before resuming her cleaning with the little cyclop she worked with. It was only fair that she helped with the hotel as best as she could after Charlie offered her a shelter without asking anything in return other than a bit of good will.

She was quickly pulled out of her train of thoughts when Niffty’s voice rang in her ears, as she concluded the little tale she was telling.

<Oh, and then Mister Al pulls me out of this portal, and I’m here! It was a nice day, except the part where I was hit by a door… Anyway…>

Right, that was why everything felt so quiet!

Not even Alastor had showed his face around! The absence of the familiar static noise, and constant chatter she was so used to, almost made the red colored walls feel empty. But she preferred not to linger on the thought so much.

Even with Niffty at her side chatting away to her heart’s content, she couldn't shake the feeling that there was a reason why almost all of the Hotel staff was out and about.

She was quick to get back to work tough. And when her and Niffty finished dusting off the main hall, mostly thanks to the little cyclop's seemingly never ending energy, she was finally able to get back to her room.

Just as she pondered what to spend the rest of her free evening doing, a familiar knock on the door alerted her that the quiet was about to end.

<Come in, Alastor.>

<Ah! There you are, dear! I've been looking for you.>

The tall deer demon chirped as he made his way to her. She regarded him with a raised brow as she folded her cleaning uniform back to its place in her drawer.

<How strange…>

She laughed as she approached him. Alastor was always in search of an audience, and as of late she'd found herself listening to his ramblings more often than she would've liked to admit. It didn’t help the fact that he always seemed to pop out of nowhere, whenever she was helping Niffty or simply enjoying a drink at the hotel bar.

<Any particular reason you’re seeking my company on this fine day?>

She added, posing her hands on her hips in a poor attempt at imitating his dramatic way of speaking.

<Can’t a gentleman just wish to see how his dear dame is faring?>

His ever-present smile widened as he pushed an arm around her shoulders in an exaggerated fashon.

His? In any other circumstance she would’ve assumed he was trying to… No. No way in hell. That was Alastor. He just didn’t do that sort of thing. Besides, that’s just how he talked to everyone. If there was a thing that man did not care about, were personal boundaries. Well…At least those that were not his.

She quickly focused back on the conversation before he could notice her confusion.

<Alright mister, game’s off. There’s always a catch with you. What is it?>

She felt Alastor��s arms get off her shoulders as he brought a hand to his chest, sighing.

<You wound me, darling! Although… There is a little thing I’ve been meaning to ask of you>

She motioned for him to go on and he didn’t waste a second.

< See, dear, it appears I’ve been invited to a ball just this weekend!> He laughed.

<A little "overlord meeting" plus some special guests, as they like to call it. It’s been a couple of decades since we had one of those, but it appears this time they wish to ensure more peaceful terms, to prevent what happened last time I assume, a shame, really!>

Her eyes widened a little. She didn't even want to imagine what bloodbath could have possibly happened to convince even the overlords to ensure some semblance of safety. And even then, she wasn't exactly sure most of the people there were willing to put aside their ill intentions.

<Anyway, both me me and dear Charlotte agree it could be a wonderful opportunity to showcase and gain some advantages for this little project of hers, don't you think?>

Alastor asked with a hum and she raised a brow at him. She seriously doubted any of the overlords aside from the eccentric one on her left could be interested in supporting the hotel. But... She guessed it din't hurt to try.

<Alright, nice. I still don't get how exactly I fit in in any of this...>

The deer demon laughed as if she just said the funniest joke he'd ever heard before.

<To accompany me of this fine occasion of course! These kind of evenings can become a little dull without the right company, and I'm in need of a dance partner!>

She had barely time to widen her eyes as Alastor leaned towards her just a little bit closer than usual.

His half lidded red eyes glowed in the dim lit room and his smile turned amused and a bit mischievous.

She couldn't help it when her breath hitched in her throat. Or when her heart skipped a beat.

<What do you say dear?>

His voice was lower and she could feel the air shift around her.

<Uh- >

<Of course, you needn't worry for your safety doll! I will make sure no one disturbs us.>

And just like that, as Alastor got up swifly, leaving her side, whatever magic spell was tightening her throat faded away, much to her relief.

She rearranged her thoughts as she processed just what the grinning demon now in front of her was proposing.

<So, let me get this straight, you're asking me to be your plus one at this fancy rich overlord ball for the weekend?>

A faint choir of "oooooh" could be heard from Alastor's microphone as he responded to her in his booming voice.

<Precisely, darling!>

Oh. That was new. It's not like she didn't expect Alastor, ever the showman, to thrive on mundane occasions like these. But the fact that he'd decided to ask her, out of all the ladies that knew how to act at fancy rich people parties, kinda baffled her.

But then, again, why would she refuse? Alastor had his quirks, a kind way to say he was a total psychopath and kind of an ass when he wanted to. But he had his moments, and she came to realize that in the months that she'd been staying at the hotel she had grown weirdly fond of his antics and old timey charms.

And, if this weekend vacation would is some way help Charlie gain some funds for her dream...

<Alright, deal.>

<Excellent!> Alastor's smile became even bigger and she wondered to herself how was that even possible.

<This is going to be an entertaining occasion indeed! Well dear, we'll discuss the details later, I'm afraid I have some business to attend to.>

And with a final straightening of his coat the demon was just about to leave the door when she suddenly remembered something.

<Wait, Al!>

our dearest alchemist isn’t one for understanding the joy of the holidays — he never fully grasped why receiving or giving a gift on one specific day meant so much someone, but to each their own was his thought process

emphasis on was, since this was going to be the first holiday the two of you would spend officially as a couple

that was when he finally understood why everyone made such a big deal out of gift-giving during the holidays; he finally felt pressure

pressure to find something perfect for you

now, albedo isn’t saying that he has never felt pressure before; but not like he does once the first few days of winter rolls around

everyone is talking and decorating for the holidays — especially for their loved ones. he had considered studying the new atmosphere that had spread throughout Teyvat which had caused almost everyone to be in what they called a ‘holiday spirit’ but he digressed

he already had an unfamiliar feeling weighing on his shoulders which he wasn’t sure how to deal with

so after an extensive amount of people watching, Albedo had came to the conclusion that he should ask you what you wanted directly to your face

however that was quickly tossed aside when on the way to ask you what you wanted for the holidays he overheard people agreeing that their present had to be kept a secret

so he changed course and went to the direction of kaeya for advice instead

did he think kaeya would be the best candidate to ask? no — which is why all research projects have more than one test subject

(i failed science this year pls don’t come for me in any inaccuracies)

when he had asked kaeya about gifts for his partner his reply was a mix of teasing and recommending a gift of extravagance:

“Think of it as something to be remembered. You want them to remember that it was you who have it to them after all, right? Either go big or go home.”

albedo isn’t the most wealthy of the captains so he chalked kaeya’s response as a result of his upbringing with the ragvindr’s but he had taken most of his advice and moved onto the next

lisa was more in-tune with her emotions than him or others he knows so he visited her next

her response was similar to kaeya’s — in the teasing matter that is — but she had gotten more in depth in what the perfect gift would be:

“Well, gifts are meant to be both given and received. So what about something matching? Like a cute little locket with a picture of each other in it! Ah, how I wish somebody would give me something like that one day.”

needless to say, albedo was quite thankful that she hadn’t spoken to him in riddles this time around and got straight to the point; there was a reason he was interviewing his peers after all

the next and final candidate on his list for advice was his assistant sucrose

sucrose gave him advice that was short and sweet and didn’t require him to think to hard about

“A bouquet should do the trick — you can’t go wrong with a nice bouquet with their favorite flowers; you know their favorite flower, right?”

after looking over his notes one last time, Albedo had concluded to gift you a leather band with Cecilia’s along with your favorite flower pressed and preserved onto it

the flower petals had practically covered all of the band which was tightened and loosened via a ribbon which you pulled in order to do so

“I hope that this gift is up to par with your standards, and I hope you know I really appreciate you being with me despite knowing all the possibilities that could happen and the nature of my work, so thank you.”

CHILDE

compared to our favorite alchemist, childe is more adept with emotions and when giving someone a gift

despite falling into the abyss and being apart of an organization that isn’t the most humane, he’s a family man with multiple siblings to look after so he’s bound to notice the little things

like your preferences — how you lean towards your favorite color over all else, how your eyes narrow in disgust when you smell something vile, how your eyes widen when you see the sight of your favorite dessert on display, etc etc

he could go on all day but that would be a waste of time given his current dilemma

see, Childe doesn’t necessarily consider his pockets to be bottomless, but they most certainly look like they are given how much he splurges when it comes to you and his family

“Childe, would you care to explain to me why you have spent 4,078,934 mora on: personal expenses?”

listen i need more genshin characters to be portrayed with sass not all of them can be respectful

but back on track, he knows what kinds of gifts his family members prefer — teucer likes a lot of small presents, tonia would rather have few good quality gifts rather than more low quality ones, and his mother absolutely adores heartfelt gifts

however, it seems almost like a balance when it came to you in his eyes; you liked treasured practically everything he gave you, whether it be silly rock he drew a silly face on or an expensive dinner date

he didn’t want to just gift you random trinkets! you deserved and are worth so much more than that

but still, he wanted it to be a surprise so he couldn’t just ask you himself outright

so he sends teucer over to question you

truly the smartest idea he had ever thought of the whole year where you would never suspect a thing

“Your brother sent you here to ask me that question didn’t he?”

“Uh… no?”

as much as he hates to say it, he was slightly disappointed in teucer for barely making an effort to disguise the fact that Childe was the one who sent him over but hey, he still got his answer so why should he care?

though the answer was still relatively vague, it had narrowed down his options quite a bit — still a lot since the more money he owns the more options he has but I digress

he had decided to gift you three things:

silly goofy hehe haha gift: he took inspiration from his sisters old craft book lying around somewhere and got to work on making a finger puppet created to look like him; he didn’t know where this idea came from to he completely honest

omg romance: a gift most certainly more well thought out and a lot of care given into it where he gifted you small trinkets from all over the seven nations where they all have some form of meaning of love

the pressure also magnifies 10x since lyney’s from Fontaine given how the nation may be centered around justice, it pays attention to live and passion just — if not more — as much so the expectations for his gifts to be methodically thought out is incredibly high

it also doesn’t help that lyney is practically working overtime to keep up his: ‘perfect older brother’ facade given how much overthinking he’s been doing lately

Lyney does it so quickly in fact, that it gets its own small section in the Steambird for it which most certainly catches your eye

it’s quite funny when you confront him about it though with him feigning ignorance and throwing out claims sarcastically yet still dancing around the truth even though you both know what it was

After the..unpleasant announcement, you decided you will forget all about Simon, move on with your life, and bring the babies up yourself. You got support. Your family, your friend Emma, you have a career. In the short time Johnny was staying with you, together with Emma, the three of you started to pack up the flat. You need to find a new place to move into before the little treasures comes into the world. Your current place is just a little two bedroom flat with a small living room and kitchen area, which is just not enough space for extra two babies. You are pretty sure the neighbours wouldn't be appreciating sound of screaming babies day and night. Soap surprised you one day when he hurried both you and Emma into the car, drove you out towards the suburb, not too far away from your current flat. Pulling up in front of a detached house with " Sold " sign, you look at him with confusion. "What are we doing here Johnny?"

" To look at the house." " With a sold sign on it? I thought we are looking for rentals." He smiled, said nothing. Jingling a key, he help you out of the car and head towards the house. It's a beautiful cottage which been looked after. Nice front yard area with a garage/workshop on the side. Emma whistled in awe as she walk through the front door. "Well, this is certainly a nice place, how many bedrooms?"

" Five." " Bit excessive isn't it?? We only need maximum of three, plus how are we going to afford the rent payment? Must cost a bit with the size of it." Johnny dropped the key in your hand. " You and Emma going to move in here. I bought the house. There should be enough space for you two to stay." Two of you just stared at him with wide eyes. HE BOUGHT THIS HOUSE FOR YOU?

" Wait.. what... Did you just say you bought the house? I can't accept this Johnny, Wh.." " You got TWO babies coming soon Mini, I want my niece and nephew have a good environment to grow up in. Plus, It's time for me to set up a base here in London, SAS and SpecGru pays me well enough." You threw yourself onto Johnny and cried. Those damn hormones again. How lucky are you to have a big brother that look out for you, beyond what he needs to do.

He insisted the two of you don't need to pay any rent, just take care of the utility bills will be enough.

" Think of it as being caretakers of my house." he winked at Emma, and dropped into more serious tone. " Also as thank you for taking care of my sister. You been a loyal friend to her."

You look around the nursery. Most of the things are in place now, waiting for the second cot to be delivered. Johnny helped you to assemble most of the stuff before he left for another mission few weeks ago. All you and Emma need to do is slowly unpack rest of the smaller stuff that is still in the boxes. Your mother is also planning to come down a week before your due date. Everything is going smoothly. Standing up, you felt a bit of pain on your upper side of belly. Rubbing it slightly you murmur to the babies to tell them to behave. Taking a step forward, you felt the room starting to spin and vision going blurry.

Last thing you heard before you faint was Emma screaming your name.

Harry Potter Rec Fest Day 13 - Over 100K

I so appreciate the dedication that it takes for someone to write over 100K words; I think even my M.A. thesis topped out at 30K (with much academic padding). I've read a ton of long fics so there's probably some recency bias here for @hprecfest day 13, but I've also tried to share a couple different pairings ...

Blood Magic (Podfic) written and read by houseofthehebrideanblcks and thestralsofspinnersend Pairing: Draco x Harry Word count: 334,676 Length: 33:05:11 Rating: E

@thistlecatfics already said all the things about this fic in their recommendation for the podfic the other day, and said it in a much lovelier and more eloquent way than I ever could. I guess I came at it from a different perspective though - as someone who is very lucky to feel not too traumatized by life or struggling with addiction or mental health (not a brag, just context), I got to see inside the brains of people like that and feel great empathy for them. Isn't that what art should do - put you in the shoes of different people and make you see the world differently? This is a slow, beautiful story of down-and-out Draco AND Harry heading toward something like peace and love, but it's a long road to get there. Also featuring endlessly patient counselor Luna, supportive Ron & Hermione, and lots of magical creatures.

The podfic is also really well done. The authors recorded it as a podcast originally. If the 33 hour single file on InternetArchive isn't really your speed, you can get the podcast version here, which includes their commentary after each chapter. Maybe not for everyone, but I found it interesting as a companion piece to hear their writing process and talk about trauma, treatment, and recovery in their own lives.

I don't want to give too much away, but it's a mystery, a time travel adventure, and a romance. All the characterizations are very real, even though there might be more than one characterization of some of the characters. Can I use character more times in one sentence? Ah, and the twist at the end!!! *Chef's kiss*

I didn't think a hockey AU would be for me, even though I kinda like hockey. I was tempted by the prospect of Everyone Lives (TM) and I'm so grateful for it. This fic is beautiful, the development of all the characters, both canon and original, is incredible. I laughed, I cried, I gasped, I sighed, and when I was done, I wanted to start reading it all over again. At the time, it was newly finished and a sequel was on the way. I've been waiting for a nice vacation or sick day to reread it and its sequel, Vaincre. @lumosinlove has created a wonderful world and I just want to see the characters play around in it forever. I haven't listened to the podfic, but I'd encourage everyone to give it a shot!

If you had asked me the ratings of my two out of three of my favorite novel-length Drarry fics yesterday, I wouldn't have thought the answer would be T, but apparently it is. This story, along with Away Childish Things, rewired my brain. I love the pace, I love the development of both boys' characters, I love the ancillary characters both old and new. It's just a perfectly told story. Although I should be encouraging you to go listen to my podfic on AO3 or Spotify, I can definitely also recommend the reading experience. Don't skip the adorable author's notes containing the adventures of the author's dog and grad school woes (relatable).

Hi! I really love and appreciate your analyses work because I find it so rare to come across these days. Most content about TWST I found is either about in-game stuff or fics of various genres and AUs. It's refreshing in a way, and I just want to tell you that I absolutely adore your work.

I just read your analysis of Cater in canon and how romance comes into play, and I couldn't stop thinking about something when you mentioned how he lights up after taking pictures. Since Cater moves around a lot due to his father's work, I think the pictures immortalize whatever connections he had regardless of how long he got to stay in the area before he eventually moves away with his family.

Aside from Magicam and pictures being his coping mechanisms, it's what little Cater has to connections and relationships even if he distances himself due to his fear of rejection and of being forgotten. I only know bits and pieces of Cater in-game because I don't have many cards of him, but the little I do know of him made me think that he would take pictures to keep memories that would be forgotten once distance and time come to pass. He yearns for deep relationships similar to Riddle and Trey's friendship, but he's so afraid of what comes with such a sentiment that he would resort to pictures and a memorable, public image to keep everyone out of arms' reach.

Even if the people he was friends with (prior to moving away) forget him and move on with life, Cater would have his Magicam account and the pictures. He'd find solace in the memoirs he had taken himself, whether it was just a day inside the Heartslabyul dorm or something as grand as Beansfest. He also takes pictures of the latest trends such as the newest cafe or dessert in town, maybe even a once-in-a-lifetime traveling circus if that's a thing in TWST. Those trends are probably his gateways to finding people with similar interests (I'm using similar doubtfully because Cater does craft his personas so well that he might as well be a pseudo-INFJ) aside from meeting a Magicam influencer quota.

I believe Cater cherishes pictures this way aside from maintaining an image and switching personas in order to be liked and remembered—because those are the closest things that could resemble deep and close relationships to him without compromising his fear.

I may be wrong though, so feel free to correct me! I did say I don't have many cards of Cater so I'm not entirely sure if my speculation is justifiable or otherwise. I'm so sorry this ask became so long 😭 Cater is such an interesting character to analyze, and he's not even in my top 5 personal favorites. I hope you have a nice day!!

Hello, I’m glad that you enjoy my works! ^^ I kind of do some of everything, but analyses are a big passion of mine. I’m happy that they’re being appreciated since they often take me a lot of time and effort to put together.

Ah, that must be in one of my older analyses, so it’s probably suuuuper outdated by now 😅 Mmmm, I do think it’s generally accepted that Cater desires deep and genuine connections like what Riddle and Trey have (but is too scared to open up to others). However, I don’t know if he actually places a ton of value in the pictures he takes. In my initial post, I meant to imply that Cater likes taking pictures because of the inherent clout that he can rake in from it, not that he necessarily attaches precious memories to those pictures.

Cater may use social media as a coping mechanism, but he also uses it to project what is knowingly a manufactured image of himself and his life out into the world. He takes so many pictures and posts so frequently (and not all of them are associated with doing things with friends; a lot of them appear to be selfies); it’s debatable whether it’s all just for show to feed the social media algorithm/his need for online validation or if he actually cherishes each and every photo (and thus the memories associated with them).

Social media is a means for him to find stability because the internet provides him with a way to keep in touch with everyone no matter where he physically is. However, social media also promotes an environment in which you’re encouraged to put your “best face” out there, to get the most attention and social approval (likes, shares, etc.). In heavily relying on social media for his socialization, it has probably fostered some of Cater’s currently observed insecurities (ie the fear of rejection or being seen as vulnerable if people learn about the not-so-perfect parts of him that he keeps off of Magicam—because what is social media if not a carefully curated photo album of all your “best” moments?).

How Cater engages with others online actually isn’t detailed often; whenever he mentions his socials, it’s almost always in the context of posting something or tagging someone. It sounds very “one way” and passive; Cater seems to be posting more than actually interacting with others or having extended dialogues. We see in his Robes vignettes that he likes comments, but the way he speaks about them makes it sound like he has to like back as an obligation to thank a particular user for the engagement. He confirms in his latest JP birthday interview that he’s always thinking of new places and things to post, but he doesn’t say his motivation is to make friends, he says it’s to get likes. Even when he’s by himself and doesn’t have to put on a show for anyone else (ie post-party in his Ceremonial Robes vignettes), Cater is concerned about getting likes. He presents his intentions as very shallow ones (whether you think he’s a reliable narrator or not is another question though 😂).

Cater also mentions using horoscopes as ice-breakers, which gives him a chance to show his social intelligence and skill at making people feel comfortable talking to him. I don’t think he’s really intending to find people with similar interests or actively going out of his way to try and make new friends; when Cater approaches someone, he usually wants something from them and he knows how to use his cheery and laidback demeanor to do it (ie he asks Malleus for a photo of him in Malleus’s PE Uniform vignettes, he gets cozy with Adeuce to get them to do his chores for him in the main story episode 1, he talks about using the freshmen for “good material” for his Magicam in his Robes vignettes, he consistently asks Vil to collab or take pics with him so he can get some of Vil’s clout, etc.). Cater uses his amicability to get others to lower their guards and play along with him. Then you have Trey, whom we know Cater likes and has said before that he wishes he had “someone like Trey” in his youth. It’s clear that Cater wants to be Trey’s friend, but this isn’t reflected in Cater’s behavior. He doesn’t go out of his way to try talking to Trey or inviting him to hang out; he seems to spend more time with his club friends Lilia and Kalim, but even then, they mostly get up to shallow activities like sitting around, eating snacks, and talking. Cater doesn’t push beyond that boundary, and the limitations of his own comfort. Likewise, we don’t really know of instances when he made efforts to befriend people online or via his socials.

Cater has a conversation specifically on the topic of memories, experiences, and departures in Silver’s Halloween vignettes. In it, Silver talks about how once he graduates, he won’t be able to visit his school friends like Kalim anymore and how that will make him feel lonely. Cater says that while he could worry that “I might not see you guys again someday”, he could also just as easily decide to have a good time with his friends while he still can. “That way, I’ll always have the memories”. Notice his use of “I” rather than “you”, referring to Silver. Cater may be speaking vaguely about his own experiences moving around and leaving friends behind. If we accept this interaction at face value, it does seem to imply that Cater puts value in making real connections and spending time with his loved ones, without necessarily having to immortalize the moment in a picture. It is the memories he cherishes—so while it can be said that he may place more value in pictures associated with certain happy moments, it’s also true that he's capable of just enjoying himself and appreciating what he has without commemorating the event with a photo.

dbksbskwwb Anyway, it’s hard to say for sure just how much Cater cares about those individual pictures just because 1) he’s an unreliable narrator, 2) you really wonder if he has more selfish reasons for acting as he does sometimes because he has demonstrated the capacity to manipulate others, and 3) his best memories don't always come with pictures. This doesn’t mean Cater is heartless or a bad person! I definitely think it’s possible he has some kind of attachment toward his pictures, since those are the closest approximation Cater has for the intimacy that he seeks without leaving him vulnerable to others. It’s just that I’m not sure if he places as much value in the pictures he takes as we may think he does. He has other motivations mixed in there, and it's possible to isolate Cater's feelings attached to happy memories from the pictures.

P.S. Just so you know, you don’t necessarily need Cater’s (or any character’s) cards to learn more about him; sometimes Cater lore is dropped in other peoples’ vignettes and event stories. Additionally, you can almost always find a source for his vignettes online by either Googling it or just accessing the unofficial Twisted Wonderland wiki.

Aoi: (My favorite type, huh? I've been so busy since I came to this museum, I haven't had time for romance. I've been so preoccupied with art in the first place that I haven't had time to think about it…)

Hmm… A hardworking person, perhaps?

Renoir: Hardworking… Oooh, so that's your type of person, my lady?

Aoi: If I had to say so.

Raffaello: Then you probably see a lot of them in this museum, am I right? There are a lot of people who work very hard on art.

Watteau: Like me, for example! I live every day to the fullest!

Renoir: I'm always there for the girls, too. And of course, for you as well, right, my lady?

Raffaello: Hahaha… I am trying my best, but I do not think I can match those two's enthusiasm.

In truth I started writing characters I felt I had a better handle on. I find Ace to be the most relatable. I think he's the most like someone you could potentially meet, maybe other than Law. Someone who is confident and self loathing and insecure and smart and dumb and self assured and all of that wrapped in a cute bundle with freckles. I also find Ace easy to write because I do feel that I've met people like him in real life, so I think of the dumb shit they would do lol. He reminds me a lot of a few of my friends, maybe that's why I feel protective over him.

That isn't a very good answer, but in summary he's my bby and I want the best for him <3.

Jinbe is who I'd actually want to ship myself with (see self indulgent fic) and I'd most want to be friends with and spend the day with Usopp.

Ah! What got me into drawing was a long journey of doing many other different things first and not quite knowing what it is that I liked doing. I wish I was one of those people who could say "I drew literally all my life! So it is only natural!" but that is not at all the case, I started to draw late when I realized that writing alone wasn't fulfilling enough for me. Nor do I feel like I'm great with words tbh. I have done many things with entertainment, film and theatre- then graphic design and marketing so maybe that's why.. but I decided I wanted to study storytelling (which is what I'm currently doing) and learn how to draw (which is also what I'm doing) and then go from there! (Perhaps combine them if possible 🤗)

If you want to create Naruto OC's I'd recommend you look at the official Naruto design sheets like these:

They're not only helpful when it comes to lighting, clothing folds, hair.. but you can also practice anatomy and expression. I mean why not? In Naruto's design sheet for example you can see that he's 7 heads tall.. these things are good to keep in mind when designing characters. Some of these sheets give you insight on what they're wearing underneath and how it works. I mean, some people really did believe that Shinobi were wearing fishnets 🤭 (It's armor..)

What also helps to design a character is to see what motivates them and see if you can combine that and their personality to then create a unique silhouette.

Drawing itself requires time, patience and fun. Find things you'd like to draw, gather resources like video's tutorials.. but not too many!! Don't allow yourself to get overwhelmed. Focus on one thing that you want to learn otherwise there is a possibility that you freeze up as there is just so much out there- You want to learn character design? Great! That's very specific. (I'd love to recommend a video/tutorial but I have yet to venture out into this domain of the art-world.. I do like this guy and this channel had great tips too.)

Now.. favorite arc?? Hands down Land of Waves. It is full with parallels, double, no, sometimes even triple entendre's, hidden meanings yet in plain sight!! Foreshadowing. done. well. And then it has the most satisfying and beautiful ending which even has the most hardass bro's sobbing and wailing because it is just that good. And let's not forget because it is BALLSY certainly because of its time even though plenty of people now are ready to sugarcoat it anyway. AND THEN to have this all set up to even further strengthen the bond between Naruto and Sasuke in the most insane and feral way- I'm just..

Yes, I'm intentionally being vague because If I were to go into specifics I'd be writing an entire BOOK. I'm just showing my appreciation for the arc. Literary greatness is what it is.

What I’ll be Posting!

if it wasn’t obvious this account is dedicated to obey me, I’ll primarily be posting edits of chibi cards (ie; making them translucent) which will come one a week depending on the card. If what I’m working on is one of the brothers chibi cards where they have one for each sin it’ll take around a week, where as if it’s one where it doesn’t have any other sin types it’ll only take 1-2 days depending on how high my pain is. Other things I may post include - userboxes, dividers, moodboards based on cards, art, and rambles!

A video with most (not all, yet) of Rolo's lines in Lost Stories. Translation below.

The first two lines are heard during the log-in screens, of which there are two variations (EDIT: 3rd one in the next post!). For the 1st day log-in (which only happens once and I couldn't record as clearly, I'm sorry!!):

・Brother and everyone from the Student Council are really happy that you have returned to the Academy… and me too, of course…

The slower way in which he says ‘mochiron, boku mo’… Thank you Daichuu ♥ And the next log-in line is repeated every day for 7 more days: ・It seems that you haven’t been coming to the Academy much. Is there anything troubling you? If that’s the case, would you like me to listen to you? Somewhere where nobody will bother us, calmly…

An alternative translation of this line would be: "Ever heard about Rai? Of course not, I made sure nobody will ever hear about him. I say this for no particular reason *smiles*."

After that, I've recorded two lines which aren't included in the character archive, for some reason. They are the ones you get when you haven't collected your presents in the Present Box or in the Mission screen, respectively: ・It seems that something has arrived in the present box. Will you check it?

・If you have completed a request, you should report it. And next comes the character archive, which lets you listen to the rest of his Home lines in order (and some Battle ones as well): ・(If you log in from 4 to 6:59 [Japan time]) Eh? You're so early! I just happened to wake up early by chance. I came outside because I wanted to take a breath of fresh air. ・(From 7 to 10:59) Good morning. You still look sleepy. Did you stay up late last night? ・(From 11 to 15:59) Have you seen Brother? Since Rivalz-san isn't here either, I wonder if it's chess gambling again... ・(From 16 to 18:59) I always have dinner with Brother. Therefore, I will excuse myself. ・(From 19 to 23:59) Eh? Is there something wrong for you to be here so late? I'm taking a post-dinner walk. I wanted to do some thinking. ・(From 00 to 3:59) So you are still awake. If you don't mind sharing, could you tell me what you're doing staying up this late?

The following lines can appear anytime, regardless of the hour: ・After the Black Rebellion, you were absent from school for quite a long time. Is there a specific reason for your sudden return?

・Ah... Judging from her face, President Milly has come up with something again. This school has many unpredictable events, so the Student Council work is really tough.

・Rivalz-san and the Student Council president sometimes tease me about Shirley-san. Saying "she's your big sis" and such... I don't understand.

The way he adds "ne" at the end implies that he assumes Mario/Maya agrees with him in that Rivalz and Milly aren't making any sense. I love how unable he is to not react to jokes with a "this is so pointless" face. ♥ ・Brother... The other day he skipped class again, and the teacher got angry with him. I'm worried about his credits, but it seems that he has already done all the calculations needed in that regard.

・The student council members are so attentive to just anyone, aren't they...? They are kind even to me... I wonder why.

That's probably my favorite line, which requires you to have gained his full Trust (up to level 5) in order to be unlocked. Rolo's confusion over why people would treat him nicely for no reason is exactly how I interpret his perception of others outside of his relationship with Lelouch: he can recognize their kindness, but finds it so bewildering that he can't appreciate it for what it is. In Turn 19.02, he displayed fascination at the idea of family members showing kindness to each other without any ulterior motives, and I've always believed that Rolo simply didn't live long enough to have the opportunity to grasp that "family" isn't the only place where giving and receiving kindness exists. I see him voicing the question "I wonder why" with that sad face as another sign that he really wanted to understand human bonding and that, with a little more time and less gaslighting from Lelouch, he had all the potential to become as grateful and indebted to others' good treatment as he was to the love he received from Lelouch.

・Brother is my only family. If you ask the members of the Student Council, I'm sure they will tell you all sorts of stories about me and Brother.

"Tada hitori no" means that his family consists of a single person, so what's up with the parents Lelouch referred to in Turn 19.02? Has that being retconned as well and now Lelouch's altered memories don't include any parents? Then again, even in Turn 19.02 Lelouch claimed that Rolo and him were always "like a family of just the two of us", so... I guess nothing has been retconned and these brothers were always meant to be parent-ignoring-brocons even in the canon created by Charles.

・You and Brother do get along well... Who approached whom first? Was there any particular event that brought you close?

・It's only natural to want to know what kind of people your brother interacts with and what kind of relationships he has, isn't it? I mean, he's family.

I guess this can be read as Rolo already showing possessive signs, or maybe not necessarily that, and he just wants to know as much as possible about Mario/Maya because he suspects him/her.

・Could it be that you are nervous because it's been a while since you came to school? You looking at me with such probing eyes… What's going on?・On the days you don't come to school, you are actually carrying out some mission under a prominent figure from Britannia... Just kidding. Do I watch too much TV?

Even though this sounds like Rolo just carelessly revealed his own identity, I'm sure he said that to test Mario/Maya and analyze his/her reaction on purpose. Even when you get his Trust to max level, he doesn't actually trust you at all (unlike the Dearness levels in GeaGene), as you will see when I post his Trust leveling up lines... By the way, everything was in polite Japanese so far, since Rolo uses polite speech with pretty much everyone other than Lelouch. After that, there's a bunch of short lines which were already translated in this previous post. You will notice I'm missing one, which is unlocked when you get his Awaken stats to level 15, but that will probably take me some time...

Next, some of his lines during battles: ・(Launch into battle) Come on, let's go. ・(Battle start 1) You are getting in the way of my mission. ・(Battle start 2) I will have you removed. ・(Deployment 1) Leave it to me. ・(Deployment 2) I won't let you get away. ・(Retreat 1) I will retreat temporarily! ・(Retreat 2) I let my guard down... ・(KMF skill 1) You can't defeat me. ・(KMF skill 2) I will have you die! ・(KMF skill: finishing blow) Goodbye. And lastly, his lines when you finish the battle, which change depending on the score you obtained: ・(Result S) Our goal was achieved with ease. Well, it's only natural. After all, failure is not allowed. He so learned that at the Order... ・(Result A) It went well. There were minor irregularities, but we managed to handle somehow. ・(Result B) It was a close call. It doesn't change the fact that we won, so that's fine, but next time let's have a bigger margin of victory. He, like the rest of the characters, has some month-exclusive home voice lines as well, but I will wait until I get more of those before I post them (they are not available in the archive, meaning you can't hear them until the month changes in real life). And those are the translations for this post. I'm not done with everything, but ahh, I love this! This Rolo feels so 2008ish to me. It reminds me of playing Banjou no Geass Gekijou and being excited to get all the Rolo dialogue over 15 years ago... Man, GeaGene just couldn't compete.
