au where peter parker’s daughter gets abducted as a child by villains and her parents die so no one’s there to save her from being raised into an angry, less moral version of spider-man. but then she time travels to when her parents were alive and younger. peter is like “why is there a girl version of me who’s breaking shins on the streets” and she becomes part of his rogues gallery

(later on she is redeemed by the power of friendship, which becomes familial love when she reveals she’s peter’s kid from the future. and he takes her off the streets and raises her as his quasi kid quasi sister. she’s there when he and mj get engaged and cries)

This is a very nice little documentary, especially if you’re a ska-rocksteady-reggae nerd like me.

There are interviews with lots of old reggae gods, several of whom are no longer with us five years later (Toots, Lee Perry, Bunny Lee).

Dandy Livingstone, aged 74, features throughout because he's so good to listen to. He has a beautiful speaking voice, is very composed and happy to share memories. At one point, he sits down at his keyboard and sings a bit of 'A Message to You, Rudy', and it's just wonderful.

There are dramatizations of Jamaicans in London in the 60s and 70s that are low key and not jarring or cringey like you might expect.
