Since I’m doing polls, perhaps you can help me decide what direction to organize my patreon a bit…

Trying to figure out how to rearrange my middle tiers, they’re a little weird rn because I’ve been through quite a few changes over the years while I figure out what I can keep up with. Rn we have, stacking (the highest tier gets everything in the previous tier):

$5: half or so of my sketchbooks

$10: the rest of my sketchbooks

$20: a monthly sticker

On one hand I don’t Really want to paywall my doodles so that’s why they’re on the low end, on the other hand $20 is a lot for a sticker if you dont want the sketchbooks, and my scribbles will just pile up into lots of art anyway...SO...

With each new costume I've seen, we seem to be steering further and further from train and more towards action figure imo. Don't get me wrong, I don't necessarily dislike anything I've seen so far but I think some of the costumes could use a bit more polish and more train-like elements. I also know the show is in previews right now, so it is likely that we'll see tweaks to the costumes here and there. Like others have said, I'm holding off further judgment until I see more.

I'm tentatively back and I'm sorry for acting like an idiot.

My brain did something shitty and weird again and I had to cut myself off! But I'm getting better.

I'll hopefully be back on discord like normal soon, and I'll start trying to reach out to everyone and check in.

So like... if we're friends, and you see this, I'll probably be asking to talk soon because that was a particularly bad breakdown and I'm feeling really unsure about a lot of things!

I had to introspect and stuff, I guess, so I decided to take some time and just work on my comic for awhile. It helped, I think.

Anyway, sorry for the long post, I have trouble doing read mores on my phone and I can't use my computer because something has actually gone terribly wrong at work (I'll make another post) and I'm not sure if I'll have to uh... run out of the building or not.

“America has no culture” is an inherently racist statement. Especially when talking about California, which has enormous populations (yes, plural) of Hispanic and Asian immigrants.

It’s such a self report that you see the American hegemony, the American monolith, as a singularly white entity that’s worthy of scorn. I want that person to look at the Black American NYC Miku design and tell me with their full chest that that isn’t culture. Especially when modern pop culture owes so much to Black American culture — hip hop, language, streetwear and fashion, pop music, jazz — as is actively erasing their roots, saying all of America has no culture is a dumbass statement.

Also, “all the US Mikus are dressed in generic casual street style for coolish weather.” The original Brazilian Miku is wearing sunglasses, a crop top, short shorts, a bikini, and flip flops you absolute dunce. If you’re gonna be rude at least be consistent.

Truly I am becoming so sick of people treating my religion like a fun quirky irl Percy Jackson. (I've ALWAYS been sick of it but oh my gods)

This is a REAL AND ANCIENT RELIGION. These are GODS. Not your silly best friends that are just constantly chilling around you. The lack of respect towards their divinity and weird mortalization of them I've seen in some spaces (not as much on Tumblr but tiktok and SEVERAL discord servers I'm in) is so uncomfortable and angering.

The prevalence of "deity identification spreads" as if they're trying to figure out their godly parent in PJO, the constant "what god is reaching out to me?" questions I see from beginners who barely even KNOW hellenic polytheism, and the constant treatment of the Theoi as fun friends that just sit around on altars at someone's every beck and call. It's so upsetting? It's so uncomfortable?

Yes, the gods love us. Of course, they care for us. But where is the respect? Where is your kharis? How can they love you when they don't even know you? And how can you claim to love Them when you hardly know Them?

You MUST research in this religion. There are no cutting corners. You must must MUST learn. Because without understanding how sacred the practices are and their significance of them to their time and who these gods truly were, you run DANGEROUSLY close to religious and cultural appropriation.
