Big, big fan of the Hugh Dancy-as-Will Graham micro-expression library. It’s so evocative (and also, on a more meta level, so different from Mr. Dancy’s facial expressions when he’s just being himself in interviews. Mind-blowing to me).

I made a post about Hugh's minute changes in expressions and stature when it comes to how quickly Will changes throughout the end of season three.

That very subtle but totally deranged cunty smile that he makes before saying "I need you, Hannibal."

How quickly he masks his smile as he says it. He's not hiding it from Hannibal, because Hannibal already has a sense of Will's mind. He's hiding it from everyone else standing behind Hannibal, and he's trying to subtly indicate to Hannibal that he has a plan. Or at least, he's going to set him loose and see what happens.

I kept seeing that smile and I was frothing at the mouth because excuse me???
