Genesis is alone.

This is a fact of life.

They hadn’t always been alone, they think. They’d lived out there, once. With their friends. In Wonderland; where everything was upside down and the right way up at the same time.

Then they made a mistake.

It wasn’t big, it wasn’t life-threatening. The Queen of Hearts said that they had to sign a contract to repent, and they hadn’t read it.

That was their biggest mistake.

They were trapped. In the underbelly of the circus they had once visited, where they had laughed at the acts, eaten cotton candy and sweets until they were almost hyper. In a maze of glass.

In order to leave, they had to imprison people in the mirrors. And they were so close.

Genesis felt a wave of frustration ripple through them as they watched Fylass and Dolly duck through the door, skidding to a stop as the exit became a painting. They clutched the handle of one of their glass daggers, cursing themselves for dropping it, for leaving the note out in the open for Dolly to find.

They sighed, turning away with a frown as the painting vanished, hidden by rows of glass. Genesis grabbed a sheaf of paper from their bag and an old pencil they had found that was dangling from their ear. Both items had fallen through one of the reflectionless mirrors.

They slammed the paper down onto the ground, and began to write, pouring out their feelings onto the paper.

There was no room for emotions in the contract.

I let them escape. I was so close to freedom, to finally being free.

But they were crying.

Genesis paused, thinking of Fylass’s yells, of Dolly’s warnings, as they ran, as they chased them through the maze.

I was weak. I let the Club escape. Something in me made my hand loosen just enough to let the dagger drop. The note was a coincidence, though.

The Queen of Hearts won’t be happy.

She stuck me here, though. I don’t care about what she thinks.

They looked up in the general direction Fylass and Dolly had left.

Run, Club. Save Wonderland. And set me free.

I can see Piper and Yuu Shi having a very Cady Heron and Regina George relationship. Yuu Shi would definitely take advantage of Piper’s kindness and generosity at first and Piper would let her do it despite knowing better because it makes Yuu happy (and Piper can’t stand up for herself for sh!t).

But in the end, I could see Yuu Shi opening up to Piper. And maybe Piper would gain some thicker skin and stand up to her, depending on where she is in the canon story.

For JoJo, I bet as soon as she sees Piper, she scoops Piper in her arms and says:

“I’ve only known Piper for 2 seconds. But if anything happens to her, I will k!ll everyone in this school and then myself”

(Which is coincidental to her voice claim I know lol)

Why are writers so mad and closing ranks when people dont want Jace to be a rapist, abuser, or cheater who uses women? When fics perpetuate rape culture?

ah, yes… a jace anon. i will give you the satisfaction of replying to your message. it's late, i'm sleepy and i don't know if i'm making much sense with what i'm going to tell you but you know what? let's go.

tldr; if george r. r. martin, the creator of the character, did not describe jacaerys velaryon as a r, abuser or cheater (actually, mushroom and sara snow say hello if you are to believe his words), then canonically, he is not. you are bothered by people using dark themes when they are exploring their creativity (they are allowed to do so and you're not being forced to enjoy), and i have yet to see any popular authors or popular works or trends or anything attempting to normalise or perpetuate whatever said dark themes. authors are bothered because anons are bothered that they are writing about him as a frat boy or a non-virgin and not the very image of chivalry.

“people don’t want jace to be” does your perception of him change because of someone else’s portrayal? why would someone else’s interpretation of a character bother you so much if that is not what you believe of him?

first of all, i understand your point of view, anon, i do. 

however, this is a world of fanfiction, where everyone is free to form, you know, headcanons and interpretations of fictional characters depending on their creativity and experiences. it is up to you to consume the content, to decide if it’s appropriate for you or if it lines up with your morals, your preferences, your own ideas of a character… such things. you are entirely responsible for what you are consuming and you have complete control, especially if an author is using very obvious tags and trigger alerts on what their work contains. if you don’t want to read dark themes, no one is forcing you and no one is forcing these labels on characters through fan-made content. 

but fanfiction means creativity, and people love exploring different themes with their favourite characters, some darker than others. at the end of the day, what other people write as a hobby has nothing to do with you, what you want or what you think. if you don’t like said depictions, turn around, close the tab, and maybe even block the writer if you want. it was not meant for you and that is fine. every jacaerys in fanfiction is fake, not real, not him, because other than the fact his name is mentioned less than 50 times in 736 pages, we have maybe one proper paragraph to describe who he was as a person… he’s dead and gone.  what if he did not grow to be a loving husband, or a great king, or anything good?

that said, i understand that some people do not like when their favourite fictional character is linked to such dark themes, but you can’t go around in an attempt to bend everyone to your liking, you don’t own the character, and people don’t have to write what YOU want. some write and consume dark themes as a form of control, especially if they were or are victims, some have twisted fantasies. you will find very few authors writing such themes out of pleasure and evilness, and they are always shunned by fandoms. this is in no way, shape, or form trying to normalize said themes. 

and not to be that person, maybe you’re not the same anon that goes around my mutuals’ inboxes, but the works i have seen that anonymous messages complain about r, abuse or cheating are mild af and nowhere near close to perpetuating anything quite honestly. no one is parading around screaming “Make this character a terrible person for fun or die!” i’m surprised you’re even involved in fire&blood, hotd or asoiaf content with the amount of triggers it has, if fanfiction has you going around like this...

also, from what i have seen, writers are not mad because people don’t want that, they are bothered because they are being bombarded by anonymous messages that refuse to understand that they can easily ignore content they don’t like. instead, they sit through message after message about how jacaerys is supposed to be a soft loverboy who will only love one woman in his life and is a virgin saving himself for marriage and is perfect, and he loves her so much.

Real talk: Does the Jedi Order have a tax exempt status?

I know it's somewhat of a meme to make jokes about how the Jedi don't know how to pay taxes, or rather questioning whether they get paid or make any income at all. And, yes, this question is kinda dumb in the sense that whether the Jedi Order has tax exempt status or not, it doesn't effect the over all story or any actual SW lore in any way that actually matters.

I also know that tax exempt status works differently in other countries besides the US (yes, hello, I am American. I hate it here, too). But for the sake of taking this very dumb question at face value, would the Jedi Order:

1) Count as a religious institution in the eyes of Republic law?

2) If so, would their status as a religious institution have any impact on whether they attained tax exempt status from the Republic?

3) What standards and regulations would the Republic IRS have in place regarding tax exemption?

4) Do the Jedi even have an accounting department?

I would peronally argue that, yes, the Jedi Order is in fact a religious institution. On the account of the obvious connection to the Force and heavily coded (if not just downright) religious practices that the Jedi follow.

However, even if the Republic were to grant the Jedi Order the status of a lawfully recognized religious institution, I'm not sure if this would actually lead to them a guaranteed tax exempt status.

According to United States IRS standards and regulations, the Jedi Order could and would also be seen as a religious institution. However, one of the biggest stipulations for retaining tax exempt status is that the religious institution does not attempt to or make any influence on legislative or attempt to influence political campaigns.

(Palpatine voice: Ironic).

Now, if the Republic had similar stipulations, I would argue that, no, the Jedi do not get tax exemption. Mostly because one of the longest known duties associated with the Jedi Order is their role in assisting with galactic diplomacy. It would be literally impossible for them to not get involved in some capacity, especially when their aid is often directly requested (whether by a Republic aligned planet or not).

That being said, this is all going by the standards of the IRS. And at the risk of sounding too jaded, there are hundreds if not outright thousands of religious institutions in the US that should have lost their tax exempt status decades ago. And yet ....

Obviously, this all ultimately depends on what standards the Republic would theoretically have in place for situations like this. And while I would never actually want George Lucas--or any other writer for that matter--to attempt to give us a canon answer, I can't help but wonder.

Even if the Jedi Order was completely self-reliant--which I personally don't think is possible due to them, well, living on Coruscant for thousands of years-just as an example. It just doesn't make sense to me that the Jedi would limit themselves to only what they make in house when they could have easy access to other local businesses, ya know?--whose to say that they wouldn't still be required to pay for taxes like regular citizens?

The Jedi Temple, again, has literally been there for thousands of years. I don't think it's entirely out of the realm of possibility that the Republic wouldn't have sent their own SW IRS agent at least once to audit the Jedi Order.

I honestly wouldn't even be surprised if that Jedi Order would be given a slight form of tax exemption, but only if certain conditions were met. Like, I don't know, what if an official member of the local Coruscantii/Republic government were to make a direct request for the aid of the Jedi. Maybe they'd get a tax write off for all the transportation and housing (or vehicular damage) they'd acrue while on this government sponsored mission?

Or what about this? Business institutions in the US get tax write offs for charitable donations (which the fuckers exploit to hell and back, fuck me). I have to wonder if there was a point in time (maybe the early years of the ye Old Republic) where someone had to bring up the fact that a lot of what the Jedi do could count fall under charitable tax deductions. So if they wanted to continue taxing the Jedi Order, they'd probably have to change up the definition or something.

Idk, man, I'm sort of spit balling random thoughts at this point.

I'd also like to say that I believe the Jedi do, in fact, have an accounting department. Just to keep thing running smoothly in regards to the Temple budget and so on. It would be kinda hard to keep a place that big with that many occupants still around and for that long without having someone keeping a close eye on the Order's spending.

Mostly, though, I just find the idea of the Jedi being audited absolutely hilarious.

i wanna lead with saying the times and dates of when the following happens can slide around, as needed!

alchem.ax is a biopharma / biotechnology corpo in this version, the status and reach of which is.... complicated tm in this au (hiii, umbrell.a 👋)

miguel's work leans into / crosses over into virology - alchema.x acquires 'samples' of viruses, and miguel conducts research on it

stepping a toe more into worldbuilding here, but the corporate raider programme takes on a different name and purpose, alchema.x markets it as a means of 'immunising america's finest against [the most prevalent RE virus strains]', with miguel's research contributing to this effort still

george o'hara, still an asshole, died young, nobody cared, blah blahhhh. unlike canon though , george was more of an absentee father figure, was distant with miguel

miguel knows that tyler is his biological father, and they work together as always. what's different about it though , is that here miguel tries, foolishly or not to strike up a father-son relationship with stone, but ty is the one that shuts it down this time. kind of an inversion of canon. ( me @ myself; rewatch that one scene in netflix's eric that gave me vibes for this )

miguel is a mutate, but not a known / declared BOW yet (plot dependent). remains human-passing. future potential there for him to join a task force --

infected with t-virus , t-02 strain along with a cocktail of other unpleasantness (read: even he doesn't know what else was mixed in)

caused by jealous colleague still (either delgato or someone else, wink winkkk), who ambushed miguel by sticking a needle in his neck after an argument, rather than by accident

talons are the usual, retractable -- probably stronger and more... claw-like, as opposed to micro-barbs

fangs, this time, potentially retractable or at least more hideable, with a deadlier venom yield

can't spread his infection with a bite though (?) -- blood, maybe. still thinking this one over

both webbing production and venom are more susceptible to his dietary choices than ever.

carnivorous, as in my main verse

eyes remain brown. the red hue appears only when his mutation is active, and can get worse from there if he loses control, or is otherwise worked up to an extreme degree (i.e. sclera turning fully red / scarlet)

addition to the above, veins appear more pronounced along his temples when he uses his powers, just for an extra bit of spookiness / showing there's something definitely not right with him. it's kind of like what happens with byakugan users, when i picture it in my head

still has the enhanced vision, and need for special sunglasses <3

I am desperate to know more about the Darius’ OC found family that all die tragically and horribly, even just the spark notes on his relations to them would be so cool to see.

okay i can give you the sparknotes of what i'd developed for the prequel. maybe someday i'll write all this in full. but in the meantime, these are the basics. (if anyone here is a fan of wwaitsoatl and wants Extended Darius Backstory.... come get ya juice)

i still need to flesh out more of the ensemble cast but the three most plot-relevant OCs are talia, daphne, and cayden. haven't figured out last names, none have any direct relation to canon toh cast members bc i do Not want to weave a bunch of confusing family trees.

the shape of the arc is what's described in chapter 9 of wwaitsoatl. darius's mentor -- whose name was hunter, but i'll call him GG here for the sake of clarity -- was involved with wild magic and wild witches.

this started out as a way for him to channel his own power without being dependent upon belos & the empire's technology. it turned into a much more involved double life rebelling against the coven system and trying to get belos to relax the empire's grip on the isles.

knowing what you do about belos, the natural response to this is. uh-oh!!

darius wanders into all of this by accident when he catches GG and cayden tattooing n enchanting Very Clearly Fake coven sigils on a couple 'new recruits.'

cayden is a witch about GG's age, maybe a little older, who Supposedly belongs to the bard coven but..... doesn't, really. he's been working on making passable fake sigils for a while.

GG swears darius to secrecy, darius wants to find out more, darius ends up meeting other witches who are important to GG.

uh oh this is getting long. meet daphne and talia under the cut.

cayden is one of GG's lovers/partners, daphne is the other, because i'm polyamorys georg and i do what i want. daphne is a wild witch who's never joined a coven.

at this point in the empire, joining the coven system is Strongly Encouraged but has not yet been fascistly enforced. most younger people have joined one, but not all. there's definite messaging about how your magic is Incomplete without a coven and you're betraying your peers and denying your selfhood by not joining one.

daphne's main talents lie in plant and oracle magic. she's been working on restoring and protecting groves of palistrom wood -- even at that point, the environmentally-conscious witches can tell that Something's going wrong with the trees.

i'd say that she has some similarities to willow, at least in terms of What She Cares About. but she's also much more ready to brawl at any given moment, much less nice, and much worse at putting on a brave face under pressure.

(cayden, on the other hand, is excellent at remaining calm and keeping the peace. both in the triad and in high-pressure political situations. everything about social camouflage that darius didn't learn from GG himself, he learned from cayden.)

the worst interpersonal conflict in the story happens between daphne and GG, around the middle of the story. eventually GG's stalling and diversion tactics stop working & belos orders him to requisition daphne's groves for the empire.

this is not an order that GG can say no to.

he's never told daphne exactly what belos does with the palismen. but she has oracle and plant magic and she's been hyperfocused on the palistrom trees for years. She Knows.

daphne is not going to let belos have this magic.

she sets fire to every single one of her trees.

which. is. fucking devastating.

the ensuing fight between her and GG in the ashes is so vicious that it probably could've ended with one of them dead,

if not for talia.

talia is an older witch, in her late fifties. keep in mind that the empire has only existed for 20 years at this point. talia was well into middle age when the empire fully unified the isles, and she'd been fighting it tooth and nail prior to that. she remembers pre-empire life and she believes it's achievable again.

if daphne parallels willow, then talia most closely parallels eda. except that she's actually much more relaxed and LESS likely to brawl and has a much healthier social life. talia believes that individual resistance isn't nearly as strong as a network of people all sharing their resources together.

she's the closest thing to a mother that GG has. she's the one who helped darius learn complex sewing skills (he could at least patch things up on his own, prior). she is Determined not to let the empire take any of these kids from her, directly or indirectly. so she intervenes in daphne and GG's fight before either of them can get hurt.

darius spends some time working with talia and cayden on strengthening his own magic. largely behind GG's back, bc GG does not want darius taking on any unnecessary risks. talia and cayden aren't exactly malicious, but they Do let darius push himself further than he really should.

eventually talia is arrested -- the exact mechanics don't matter. what matters is that belos knows that she's close to GG, even though she isn't saying a word. so he calls GG and darius into the throne room, shuts the doors, and tells GG to carry out her sentence of petrification.

it is Very Clear that this is a test. it is Very Clear that any protest or argument will be taken as treason.

GG does what he's told. darius watches.

after it's over, belos asks to speak with darius alone. i've actually written this scene in full. GG very nearly blows his cover, darius convinces him to keep his shit together. belos does not hurt darius, just playacts the oh-so-concerned uncle. extremely threatening about it. you'd tell me if he was in trouble, wouldn't you??

darius leaves the chamber with GG, who immediately goes out looking for cayden.

cayden is gone. his door's been kicked in. the house is a mess.

GG has a panic attack. 'he knows, he knows we were in here.' horrible echoes of that scene in hollow mind. darius hugs him through it. GG asks him if he's been practicing all the dangerous magic bullshit that GG told him not to. then begs darius to use said dangerous magic bullshit to go warn daphne and the others in their network.

GG promises that he's going to finish all of this, one way or the other. he says he should have finished it back before petrifying talia. or hell, back when everything happened with the palistrom groves. it is very clear that he intends to kill belos.

daphne and the rest of the ensemble cast are already gone by the time darius reaches their usual hideouts.

GG is already gone by the time darius gets back to the palace.

belos announces that his nephew was murdered by wild witches. and that he has the traitors in custody.

cayden and daphne and the others in the ensemble are petrified for GG's murder.

darius is the only one left who knows the truth about what happened. darius is the only one who knows that this is all a political sham being stirred up to make coven conscription mandatory, stamp out all remaining wild witchery, and enact a slew of new fascist laws.

and darius is the only one left who knows exactly how cayden faked coven sigils. the only one who can pass on that knowledge. and the only one who can secure a position in which fake coven sigils won't come under too much scrutiny.

there's only so much he can do to honor the others' memories. if he stands against the empire alone, he'll be killed. belos is already SO suspicious of him.

he does what he can very, very quietly instead.

yess i forgot there's also falcon knight maybe for sylvee (falcon knight/pegasus knight are basically interchangeable but they change the class names for games for whatever reason 😭)

unfortunately im not a super huge fan of that line of classes outfits so if i did make sylvee one i'd probably totally change the outfit loool

and for dteam i really struggled and still dont have set classes for them 😭 u would think that i would have theirs down first but i just rlly dont know..

first for dreamie, since he would be the "focus"/protagonist, by fire emblem logic that would usually dictate him being the lord class, but in this au/setting i dont really plan on dream being royalty so that wouldnt make much sense ? here are some of their outfits throughout games

technically characters can be just about every class(depends on the game) so characters have their own "canon" classes and get special outfits different from others for being it. lords definitely get the biggest changes tho

i probably wouldnt go with this one, but taguel is a fun one to think about because the bunny!dream propaganda is strong(they can also be bird and cats). basically they transform into their beast form for their weapon. also their species were practically entirely wiped out so a sad backstory for dream :(((

Thank you for the questions! Okay, this took some time and thought. And some of my answers are long. It will be under a "read more" out of convenience and respect for my mutuals and followers.

4. what is the plot bunny you’ve been carrying for the longest? optional bonus question: do you ever wonder why you haven’t written it yet and experience deep existential dread?

I really want to write a background and sidestory for a one-off character from George Lopez that Tony O'Dell played. I don't think I've written it yet for a few reasons:

a) I don't know if his character is named Blaine (dialogue and closed captions) or Patrick (credits on IMDb and from the end of the episode).

b) I kinda want to ask Tony about that episode and role.

c) I haven't had time or haven't sat down and focused on it enough to start writing it.

No, I don't experience existential dread over it.

13. talk about a writing experience that has pleasantly surprised you.

This isn't going to take long. But in writing my first fic, Is This Love?, I learned that I can write sexy things. This is the opposite of the "write what you know" advice. I have done research and will continue to do more. I've talked with others who have written smut. And I have had some friends read over what little I have written. As I tend to write out of sequence, I haven't published the smut and I'm still a bit anxious about it, but I decided to do this to prove to myself that I could. I wouldn't be upset if Is This Love? is the only fic that I write that contains smut, but proud of myself.

A fellow fanfic writer? Hmm, I would say @curiousdamage @missviolethunter @cecexwrites @rynnie-rynn @themaradwrites @avatarskywalker78 and/or @the-time-lord-oracle.

With Curious, MissV, Rynn, and/or AvatarSkywalker78, I would write something for The Karate Kid or Cobra Kai because that is the main fandom that we have in common. The first three were with me when I created my OCs and I honestly would trust them to write Julie or Alyssa. But all of them have strengths writing other characters in that fandom that I'm not sure I can do justice or write with the nuance they deserve.

Curious, MissV, and I could finally write that spinoff/revival-type fanfic for The Equalizer with Scott McCall and his OC daughter as the central characters. Or Curious and I could write a Cagney & Lacey story.

With Cece, it would probably be a story set in the Wizarding World with supporting and minor canon characters.

Obviously, a Doctor Who story with The_Time_Lord_Oracle.

And were I to write an original story, it would be with Rynn or Mara.

All of these writers are ones that I greatly admire, consider friends, have created some of the best original characters (I wish they all were canon and I would protect them to the end), and have written many of my favorite stories.

If you are asking about published/professional authors, I'm not sure. Maybe Rick Riordan, Richelle Mead, David McIntee, Timothy Zahn, Jude Watson, or Cassandra Clare (yes, I know some of the allegations against her, but she is still one of my favorite YA writers).

24. on average, how much writing do you get done in a day?

It really depends on it's a workday vs. weekend, how much time I've had to write, and how inspired I was. If I write at least 500 words, I consider it a productive day.

25. what’s your revision or rewriting process like?

I edit as I write, which makes the writing process longer, I'm sure. Then I send it to my beta. After I hear their thoughts and suggestions, I take into account if those serve the story and make appropriate edits. Then I will post it on AO3.

33. do you start with the characters or the plot when writing?

Honestly, a very rough plot idea. The characters are my main focus and I spend more time thinking about how to develop them and how they will react to the plot.

Yeah, I think I am. I second-guess myself a lot. I edit as I write, so I might spend hours on the same damn paragraph because I didn't like the original word choice, felt it was too similar to something I had previously written, or numerous other reasons. I once nearly trashed everything I wrote for Is This Love? and lay on my bed crying because I thought I was being too harsh on Jimmy and my OC Julie.

71. how do you balance writing and life? do you ever feel overwhelmed by the amount of writing you have to do?

Hahaha. Balance? What's that? Ironic isn't it, considering that I write for The Karate Kid and Cobra Kai? Yes, I constantly feel overwhelmed by the amount of writing that I have to do. I want to be able to post two chapters for three of my WIPs by the end of 2024. I haven't worked on two of them at all yet. I haven't done any writing since early or mid-February. Sometimes, I feel like a failure because I started writing Is This Love? in 2018 and I haven't even started writing the scenes concurrent with the plot of The Karate Kid, while I've got friends and mutuals who can write, finish, and post a few multichapter fics within a few months.

And in your "Dark! monarchy restoration au" where the Dteam got corrupted with power: what Techno and the rest of The Syndicate do about it? And what about Ranboo and Punz? Especially Ranboo who wants a unite Server and at the same time he doesn't like what is happening (probably), and you said that "Dream was going to revive Ranboo and there was going to be a full Endersmile Worked Together The Whole Time thing".

And in the let's say "good ending" where the Dteam leaves the server for good, what exactly happens to the Server after its Admin leaves? And what about Punz? Does Dream ask him if he wanna leave with him the Server?

ohh this is a big one. let's take it one at a time

The Bad Ending came from DreamXD's "Dream and Sapnap are connected" thing - it seems to have been dropped by canon, but he said something to the effect of "if Dream dies, Sapnap dies with him because they are connected through the Death Book and Revive Book". this ending would be a bad ending tied to the DTeam trying to take over the server but in the process, Dream gets killed and loses his last canon life. as George holds him and watches him slowly fade away, Sapnap approaches him to comfort him but as Dream breathes his last breath, Sapnap dies with him. George can do nothing but watch. shortly after, he's approached by DreamXD who offers to take him back in and trap him in a dreamworld where they are both still alive. George hesitantly reaches out and accepts the offer.

the whole "DTeam take over the server" thing is, unfortunately, rather underdeveloped. there are some obvious targets they would start with, ones that Punz and Ranboo would have no issues with, and possibly not even the Syndicate. they'd tear Las Nevadas down, similar to canon but not quite. I knew I wanted a confrontation, and I knew I wanted Dream to be caught off guard by Quackity (I posted a sketch of it at some point if I remember correctly) and we'd get an emotional fight between Sapnap and Quackity with Sapnap taking Dream's side after learning of everything that happened in the Vault.

Sam would be next, for the sake of both Dream and Ranboo. it might be a turning point for the DTeam, slowly realising that together there is nothing that could stop them.

Techno would approach Dream, the same way he would have before, and tell him that he doesn't like where all their activities are heading. at that point it just depends on whether Dream would be willing to slow down at least a tiny bit for Techno's sake, or if he's okay with breaking off whatever friendship they have for the sake of achieving his goals. he was okay with bombing New L'Manberg for peace, so what difference is it if they tear down one country at a time...? they'd try to reason, maybe, but their relationship would most likely never be the same.

Snowchester could technically be annexed through Ranboo's extended influence - once Dream realises they have nukes, they need to be taken care of.

as of the rest, well...

Punz would follow, never having questioned Dream's methods, ever loyal. and so would Ranboo, either because he was always complacent to all the terrible things Dream did, or because he wants to keep Tubbo and Michael safe (c!Beeduo are alive and well in my head)

this would have been really fun to develop just to see how far they can be pushed before snapping and turning on Dream, or maybe to see just how easy it could be for them to take things further than intended without prompting. Punz never seemed to care as long as there were fruits to his labour, and Ranboo, well, I just wish we knew more about his enderwalk.

as of the "good ending" - I never took Dream for an admin, at least not within this AU. he was always Just Some Guy who happened to found the place. their departure would be of little note to everyone else.

Punz would be given the offer to leave, Dream ever so great with his words would leave him a note with coordinates to the portal and nothing else. an indirect invite to join, if Punz wishes to, or go his own way. either way, it is a new chapter in their lives, and he can do with it whatever he wants.

About the Targaryens again… So George said that Rhaenys was a “flirt” (and we know it for sure because she obviously loved the company of males and it was a part of her extroverted personality) and Visenya was a “seductress”, but ASOIAF doesn’t portray her as a seductress at all, nor is it clear who she would be seducing. It doesn’t seem to have been Aegon, or she obviously didn’t succeed in seducing him, nor it seem to be anyone else at all. All we know is that she was cold, dark, serious and had a little sense of humour (like torturing a monkey for fun could count ok). What do you think about that?

"About the Targaryens again" I mean, do I ever really get questions about anything else, lol?

So, I think the "So Spake Martin" stuff tends to fall into the lines of "semi-canonical" rather than out and out canon from the official texts we have, which would be ASOIAF (which Visenya and Rhaenys aren't in due to having been dead for three hundred years) and Fire&Blood, where they're really only referred to because it's a historical text covering past events, not a contemporaneous narrative. But it does seem like the "So Spake Martin" description of Visenya ("Visenya is both stern and sensual, more voluptuous than her sister, more passionate, but with a dark and unforgiving side") is still meant to be taken in conjunction with her F&B official description ("Even those who loved her best found Visenya stern, serious, and unforgiving") since Rhaenys's "So Spake Martin" description ("Rhaenys, the younest of the three, is slender and graceful, playful, with a mischievous aspect to her personality than Visenya lacks") follows pretty closely with her F&B description ("Rhaenys, youngest of the three Targaryens, was all her sister was not, playful, curious, impulsive, given to flights of fancy"). So the idea that Visenya might have had a seductive aspect to her personality that she wielded when it suited her doesn't seem to be entirely out of bounds.

As to who she was seducing, that's more unclear. If you follow the conventional wisdom surrounding Aegon's relationships with his sister-wives, then she might have tried to be "seductive" towards him to try and sway him into being more attracted to her, as opposed to Rhaenys, and it simply didn't work. Or maybe it did at least once, we have no idea what the circumstances of Maegor's conception were beyond the fact that it happened at an opportune time for his parents. If you have my specific set of brain worms, then she might have tried to seduce Rhaenys somehow and whether or not she succeeded depends on how sad I want to make myself on any given day. And while there were never any rumors about her going after anyone while married (though she very well could have, just kept it incredibly on the down low), Visenya did spend a significant amount of time widowed. And while some might say "OK, but she was in her sixties and seventies when widowed so who was she seducing" I will respond with a) GILF rights and b) Visenya was said to dabble in dark sorceries and blood magic, she could have easily used some of that to make her look more youthful than her years, potentially even explaining why she suddenly had such a steep drop-off health and looks wise in the last year of her life (something something magic always has a cost something something). So it's entirely possible that, now that she was unencumbered by marriage, and powerful enough in her own right (even more so after Maegor became king) that no one would brook any argument against her for doing it, that she took some lovers in the last decade of her life, and probably seduced them into bed with her. There's also this quote that "To most of the world, she presented the grim face of a warrior, stern and unforgiving", which could easily mean that Visenya had a more sensual side to her that she didn't show in battle or on progresses or to much of open court, aka most of the world, but was present enough to be accounted for by other people, including whoever was in the inner sanctum of the Conquerors time as rulers.

Of course, just because she's described as a "seductress" doesn't necessarily mean she went around enticing everyone she met 24/7. It could easily be a description of her personality as much as it is about her actions. People generally contain multitudes, Visenya can absolutely be both stern and serious as well as using wiles to try and get people to do what she wanted. It's an element of her personality that we can actually see in how she took the Vale, tempting Ronnel with Vhagar and the promise of flying around on her, and using just that to get Sharra to realize that she needed to submit and surrender to the Targaryens. Visenya could have been a seductress in more ways than just sexual, and had her own purposes behind it, just like Rhaenys's flirty patronage of singers also served as masterful propaganda to prop up Aegon and their dynasty.

As for the monkey thing, I don't think there's any suggestion that she tortured the ape she took as the second Lord Monkeyface (even though we as modern Earth humans now know better than to try and dress animals up in little outfits that they don't want), just that she had a fool named Monkeyface and then replaced him with an actual monkey that she thought was funnier.

It’s like yeah sure, i think when george was coming up with the “northern look” that northern “coloring” he was thinking of was more similar to the way that like, a lot of welsh people have dark hair and a sort of, olive-tan coloring to their skin (think catherine zeta jones or ioan gruffudd) that makes them look darker than your average brit but usually in a “maybe they’re spanish?” kind of way rather than a “that’s a person of color” kind of way.

but death of the author, first of all, and second of all, depending on what your baseline is, “darker” coloring can look way darker in my imagination than in yours! and that “northern” coloring is vague enough that like, there’s a lot of poc who see parts of themselves in northern culture and explore that, and the Joy Of Reading is that we all see these characters differently!! me going “the starks are indigenous it’s the law” has no actual consequences for the series, someone else’s reading experience, or the fandom at large!! you can literally just block and move on if you’re that dedicated to being a loser weirdo?!?

I know you don't like talking and writing about Hermione. But I look forward to the moment Hermione appears at the burrow because It looks like it would be fucking juicy. The dynamics have changed a lot in the time she has been absent and are going to change more. It looks like there will be a fight.

Also about Percy, you said that he will still be a proud stubborn git. But what is his opinion about Harry now? Does he have a better opinion now? Does he still think Harry is a deluded attention seeker? Is Percy resentful of the fact that Harry has a better relationship with his family than him? If his opinion of Harry is still negative and finds out from rumours about Hinny, would he send a letter to Ginny about how he disapproved of her relationship?

The dynamics have certainly changed. But, at this point in time, Hermione still has Ron. I mean, he’s definitely been writing to her but he can’t tell her everything because it’s dangerous. Even his veiled references are probably not clicking 100% of the time. But I mean, those two still fancy each other at this point in time.

But Harry?? He’s content in his little Weasley world right now. There’s a mention in a future chapter (or maybe I already made this reference, I forget what chapter it’s in) where Sirius looks at Harry squished between two Weasleys on the sofa and thinks how it reminded him of James, Lily, and himself. The two brothers in everything but blood. The young couple so newly in love and the tag along best friend. Harry is relishing in the support he’s receiving from Ginny and from Ron (even if he’s more tackles and unsure of what to say, that kid is fucking trying, okay???)

Harry just doesn’t want to deal with Hermione telling him she was right, he should have tried harder. He already knows that and he’s already feeling guilty about everything. He hasn’t written to her at all because he doesn’t know what to say to her. Which, of course, is only driving that wedge. Harry doesn’t mean to drive the wedge, but he has Ginny and she’s so intoxicating and has such a calming presence that he is filing Hermione in the too hard to deal with category. Which is one of Harry’s less desirable traits. He puts off what he doesn’t want to deal with.

I think with Percy it comes down to a pride thing. He doesn’t want to admit he was wrong, he doesn’t want to face the consequences of his nasty words. It did sting when his parents chose to believe Harry over him. While all the Weasleys are more than happy to embrace Harry into the family, I do think there’s some jealousness on Percy’s part.

Percy, who has always been teased by Fred and George, sees this little socially awkward kid be embraced by the twins. They joke with him, they play Quidditch, they’re good friends with him. Even Ron likes Harry more than Percy. His little sister is infatuated with Harry. Percy, who has always had very evident middle child syndrome, is just salty. It’s like a self-fulfilling prophecy in his mind. He was always thought he was the least liked brother, always the dependable but less loved child. He was always ignored and neglected to the point where he thought his only real friend was a rat.

I always thought that in canon it was weird he came back to the family. I just sort of thought, especially as I got older, he would have just went no-contact with his family because it had been so long, so many nasty things were said, and Percy would still have a bit of I did what was right in the moment attitude about him.

There are times when I daydream a lot about a certain idea, like for example about the one about pairing Ron with Blaise, but mostly it’s just a Boom! and if I don’t write it now, it’s dead and gone.

Where do you get your fic ideas?

I imagine my (as in “original but in my way” or headcanonly or au) characters during certain activities (mostly: fucking) and I add something or someone extra, or I set the scene right before or after - as it comes to me.

Do you share your fic ideas, or do you keep them to yourself?

I rarely have a big idea that is different than a shortie I am writing or wrote already, but in my head it’s like once I say it, it’s done and gone - so sharing is equal to abandoning it most likely forever

Since I don’t understand the question really I will try answering how I feel it: I choose just by how I feel about right now. When I think of Eomer, I write about Eomer. As simple as that.

are you kidding me? It makes me happy, it makes other people happy and it’s an act of creation so naturally I enjoy that. Also that bitch jkr did nothing to make them more interesting so I had to make a stand for them

just write anytime you feel like writing, if you don’t have an idea for a name or some other detail, simply put [name] or [detail] and continue and it will clarify later if the character is Clark Bones, an architect who likes tomatoes or a Roan Desmond Ruttington, a gardener who killed his mother’s lover when he was twelve and noone ever found out; never let yourself stumble on some minor details and change major things AFTER you write an entire chapters or bigger parts, really, you will thank me later. Also if you write sex, please please please remember that fucking is a machine-like activity and courting and talking about it must be witty, with a good taste and if not that, at least dont be gross and remember that there is nothing less fun than gross AND boring sex scenes.

Dream SMP Recap (April 5/2021) - The Case of the Disappearing Sheep

Ponk and Karl both make plans to speak to Niki about her haven city.

Tubbo does a lap around the server to check out what’s going on, but some mysterious messages crop up on screen. 

Tommy and Ranboo attempt to move Friend to a safer location and in the process, Friend goes missing. How do you lose a bright blue sheep? No one knows, but it sure happened anyway.

- Ponk has something he needs to do.

- The Egg has enemies. Everyone hates the Egg. But you know who people don’t hate? Niki.

- Things don’t last forever, so Ponk needs a backup plan for when things go south with the Egg. He goes to Niki’s secret city to leave a message.

(Ponk is going to try and get Purpled in on this, Sam too. He’ll have lore that has to do with before Tommy joined, so he wants to get Sam, Bad, Punz, maybe even Alyssa and George involved too, as well as having some cameos. He mentions Boomer and Snifferish, Redvelvet, 5up, etc., as possibilities)

- He leaves a sign for Niki asking to chat sometime and heads back.

- Ponk retcons his fake kneecaps

- He continues to work on his flower hill for Sam

- Ponk talks to Delta.

- Tubbo aims to get the most powerful sword in the game possible so that he can interrogate people.

- Tubbo goes down into the spider spawner and thinks of sword names.

STAY AWAY FROM

- He considers names like “the Hornet,” “Soul-stinger,” among others.

- He then chooses between “Final Hope” and “Checkmate” and settles on naming the sword Checkmate.

THE NORTH!

- Tubbo visits the mansion

- Tommy logs on and Tubbo spots Tommy walking up Drista’s god staircase. Tubbo is confused and tries it out for himself.

A STRANGE METAL

WEAPON WASHED UP

- Tubbo goes to explore Kinoko. He remarks that a lot of the big places on the server are south of Snowchester.

- He sees Kinoko and also goes down into Niki’s underground city.

IT POISONS

- Next, he decides to check up on the Egg.

- As he heads over, he sees Fundy’s honeymoon suite for Dream and reminisces about Dream’s iron door MCC nightmare. 

- He checks up on the prison first and notices the god McDonald’s.

- Then, he goes to the Egg.

THE NATURE

- Tubbo enters the Egg Room.

- Tubbo also visits Ranboo’s house in the Arctic.

THE WATTER

- He goes all the way out to his jungle base and finds a pufferfish in a bucket in a chest. He decides to take it.

- Then the guardian farm

NO ITS NOT

- He returns to Snowchester and sees Michael.

THATS IT WE ARE

LEAVING

- Tommy logs on. He’s gotten a barrier block from Drista and plays around with the invisible staircase.

- They noticed a mysterious nether brick block with a single sign on it. All it says is “AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.”

- Jack comes over to them.

- They go back down and Tommy speaks to Ranboo one-on-one. Ranboo suggests they might need Jack as a sacrifice, and Tommy mentions that now that he’s finished with the tower, he might be taking back his hotel.

- They recount the events of last time, where they attempted to rescue Henry.

- Tommy says that until they can give Friend back to Ghostbur, he doesn’t want anybody knowing where he is. They should put him in a vault. Specifically, a place that everyone walks by every day, but no one goes to.

- They visit the Oogway Shrine and Ponk’s green room.

- Tommy points out King’s Court to Ranboo. Everyone sees it, but no one goes up there. It would be the perfect spot to put Friend. They leave Friend tied to a post near the highway elevator.

- They go up to King’s Court.

- Jack comes up and Tommy speaks with him. Jack says he might have a court case coming up due to Puffy suing him for the hotel. Tommy and Jack argue about who owns the hotel. Tommy tells him to give it back, and Jack refuses.

- They see that Friend has gone missing and are confused. They ask Jack if he took their blue shieep.

- They start looking around for Friend.

- Tommy and Ranboo speak away from Jack, trying to figure out who took him.

- Ranboo says he has some of Ghostbur’s blue and suggests they just make a new one.

- Tommy explains to Ranboo that Jack stole his hotel, and as he’s been gathering up resources, working towards Netherite so that he can go to the prison again, he’s decided that he might as well get his hotel back.

- They go back up to King’s Court to work on the vault some more.

- They go back down and discover Friend tied up to the post by the elevator again. They’re extremely confused and speak to Jack again.

- Tommy and Jack fight about the hotel. Jack tells Tommy that since he’s come back, he’s basically a different person and has to buy it back with leverage. Jack says he’s got business deals going on.

- They notice that Friend has disappeared again.

- Tommy asks Jack why he shouldn’t just kill him right now. Jack claims that Friend’s life depends on him.

- Tommy and Ranboo demand Jack to prove that he can summon Friend again.

- Jack leaves and comes back in a detective outfit. He admits that he doesn’t actually know how to summon Friend, but if they need a detective...

- Foolish comes over and they question him.

- They start digging up the hillside.

- They call Dream to try and figure out what happened.

- Jack wonders if maybe Friend pulled a Jack Manifold and went to Hell.

- Phil sends a clip of him singing about Friend dying in autotune. 

- Tommy leaves and Ranboo finds Friend with Jack and Foolish.

- They discuss whether Friend’s name is spelled with a capital F in various incarnations.

- Ranboo realizes that Friend is tied to a different fencepost and takes Friend away. 

- Karl and Sapnap run around Kinoko on Karl’s account. They decide Jack Manifold’s shoreline restaurant has to go.

- Karl explains that he wants to merge with Niki’s country, and he can’t sell her the deal with this building here. Hannah is there, and says that it’s her favorite burger restaurant. 

- Karl starts tearing it down. Foolish hands him TNT. Punz shows up. They light TNT inside and mines down the walls. Hannah says he’ll pay with his life.

- They see a fish in the pond and decide to name him Lasagna. If anything happens to Lasagna, Sapnap would take a canon life.

- They also retrieve Hutt the fish, Rutabaga, the Party Island llamas

- Karl writes a book to Niki saying he’d love to show her around his beautiful country, and that he’s noticed their countries are close together. He remembers creating Rutabagville together, and suggests they might do something similar and combine territories. He puts the book and George’s wall shield in his Ender Chest.

- Puffy pranks Bad and Skeppy by replacing the quartz in their mansion with white concrete.

- Puffy sacrifices Antfrost for Karlnap.
