I think it's obvious at this point that we're not going to be getting any new Candela chapters for the foreseeable future if at all, since Critical Role's focus appears to be on Daggerheart and the upcoming live shows next year. So, in lieu of any new Circles and assignments, and since my thought gremlins always turn to these kind of plots this time of year, I thought I would ask...
What holidays do you think get celebrated in Newfaire/Hale?

I still think that the ending of "Avatar: The Last Airbender" was poorly foreshadowed, specifically the lion turtles and the energy-bending. (Not Aang not killing Ozai! I like that part! It suits the themes, it suits the characters! That part is fine. I am glad that the last airbender found a way forward that respected his people and beliefs.)
Like, I saw ATLA when it was originally airing and I thought these things kind of "came out of nowhere" at the time. I have heard the arguments to the contrary over the years and I have never really been persuaded by them, while at the same time personally agreeing that the lion turtles and the energy-bending absolutely do fit the world and lore! They are fitting elements! They work! I like this ending at the same time that, in my personal opinion, I think it was poorly established.
I think that the story BEGINS to establish lion turtles and energy-bending well enough. We meet both many other spirit beings and bending-capable animals earlier on, including the Moon and Ocean Spirits who apparently gave the world water-bending. S2 introduces Ty Lee's chi-blocking techniques and Guru Pathik teaching Aang about chakras. There are also a handful of lion turtle easter eggs in the background of some episodes, the most prominent perhaps being on a scroll in Wan Shi Tong's library.
But the story then jumps from these various establishing elements all the way to "lion turtles are real and not extinct and telepathic and can also energy-bend and Aang has suddenly mastered this new art well enough to take someone else's bending away permanently, and these relatively new elements are going to resolve the main conflict of the show". It feels like "1+1=3" to me. I think that last jump in the story is too big. Like, we're REALLY close, but I personally needed another 1 in there somewhere to bridge that final gap and get to that 3.
(Includes some fic ideas / suggestions on how to maybe add to strengthen the foreshadowing under the cut.)
The fact that a lot of people, especially more casual viewers, were really confused by the way all of these elements suddenly came together at the end says to me that, no, the foreshadowing that WAS done (there WAS foreshadowing, I cannot rightfully say that it all came completely out of "nowhere", but it) was not good enough. Or maybe I should compare it to someone presenting me with all of the necessary ingredients for a cake and then telling me that it IS cake? Yes, all of the right ingredients are HERE, I agree, this COULD be a really great cake, but... you still have to mix it all together in a bowl and then put it in the oven to bake to get that specific cake. It's not quite cooked yet.
(Okay, wow, that sounds kind of mean. Maybe I should compare it more to a missing stair? We have MOST of the staircase, I just need one last step to get to the Deus Ex Machina at the top. To be clear: I don't think a "Deus Ex Machina" is inherently bad. I often like them a lot. I just wanted a little more foreshadowing than the stuff that is already there.)
In storytelling, there's this technique casually called "The Rule of Three". (And yes, of course, rules were made to be bent or broken depending on what story you're trying to tell, but usually, these rules exist because they are effective.) This rule is also sometimes known as "Introduction, Pattern, and Payoff". (It has other names, but that's how I remember it.)
Very loosely, this rule states that an important element of the story must appear at least three times. 1. It must be introduced / established in the world. 2. It must appear again to remind the audience that it exists / and establish a pattern such that the audience begins to expect it to appear again later. (And is hopefully excited for it.) 3. Payoff. The element returns in an important way, probably to resolve part of the plot. The previous two appearances have acted as foreshadowing for this ending.
There's also a "Rule of Two" version of this general storytelling technique. Like, "If this special crystal can zap the bad guy and save the day, we have to have shown or at least told the audience that it can do that BEFORE the big final fight scene."
In regards to ATLA, no, I don't think that a scroll in a library or a statue in the background of some scene served as adequate introduction and reminder for the existence of lion turtles, so it didn't necessarily feel like a payoff for me that they solved the main conflict. (It's the "solved the main conflict" that's most of the issue for me. If the lion turtles had just appeared in another episode as a random cool thing like those sea monsters by Kyoshi Island, I would not have cared.)
I actually think that the establishment of other spirits like the Moon Spirit and bending-capable animals like sky bison and dragons can serve as a decent enough "Step 1) Introduction". Though this does not establish that lion turtles specifically exist, we have established that powerful creatures similar to lion turtles exist. But I still needed a solid "Step 2) Pattern / Reminder" that would have established that lion turtles specifically exist and are important BEFORE one shows up at the end like that.
I think that there's at least one episode somewhere in Book 1 or Book 2 that could have been cut in favor of an episode where the Gaang meets and rescues a young lion turtle baby or something.
Maybe Guru Pathik could have learned his ways FROM a lion turtle? Aang could have gone to an isolated village somewhere (with more brown people besides just Guru Pathik?) where people are living in harmony with a lion turtle, or maybe even on the back of a lion turtle! That would be cool!
Concept: Aang encounters Guru Pathik living alone on the back of a lion turtle which doesn't talk to people anymore (Aang swims down to look at its face and it doesn't even look at him), because its kind have been hunted nearly to extinction and it's tired of violence. Guru Pathik learned his ways from his old teacher, who learned from his old teacher, all the way up the teaching lineage from a person who once learned from the lion turtle itself before it gave up on the world. Guru Pathik tends to this nearly empty temple on the back of a silent lion turtle who ignores him, because he will not forsake his teachings even when the world seems uninterested in hearing them and the old lion turtle seems like it could die any day now. The people in the fishing village on the shore think that Guru Pathik is crazy and most of them don't even believe that the floating island really is a lion turtle, it's just weird geography.
Guru Pathik could also have chi-blocking abilities! We could see him demonstrate them in self-defense! He could teach a few chi-blocking moves to Aang, who could later go on to use them occasionally in Book 3, and it would have been really cool to see Aang exploring non-bending skills. We don't need Guru Pathik to explicitly name energy-bending here, but I would like to connect him just a touch more strongly to chi-blocking. Like, he IS connected already by helping Aang clear chakras, which is kind of like a reverse of chi-blocking, but it would be nice to establish Guru Pathik as somewhat capable of the opposite but perhaps not liking to use the skill.
Aang really vibes with this dying culture of pacifists, but he still has to leave Guru Pathik before he can finish the training. Later on, he can encounter Guru Pathik and the silent lion turtle again, and he can confess to them how desperately he doesn't want to have to kill anyone, no matter what his past lives say. He just wants to STOP the violence and restore balance to the world without sacrificing himself. And THEN the lion turtle could wake up and gift him with energy-bending.
Or something like that! The foreshadowing doesn't have to be THAT heavy-handed, but SOME brief appearance by an actual lion turtle would have served as a better "Step 2) Pattern" to me.
Things like chi-blocking, chakras, water-bending healing, water-benders losing their bending when the Moon Spirit was killed, and even Zuko's spiritual turmoil serve as a good "Step 1) Introduction" to the concept of energy-bending to me. The ingredients are THERE. But again, I would have liked some clearer "Step 2) Pattern" that had actually baked the cake in regards to this being a skill Aang had specifically.
The above episode concept with Guru Pathik on the back of a lion turtle could have worked as a "Step 2) Pattern / Reminder" for energy-bending.
ANOTHER option would be to have Aang temporarily lose his bending at the beginning of Book 3, after Katara resurrects him with that special spirit water after Azula killed him at the end of Book 2.
I think Aang losing his bending for at least 3-4 episodes would have been really good for him / the show. So much of Aang's identity is tied up at this point in being the Avatar and the responsibilities of being the Avatar. Losing his bending, especially his AIR-BENDING, and his connection to the spirit world and his past lives would send him into a personal crisis. The Gaang could worry over whether or not a new Avatar has somehow been born or if the Avatar powers are gone forever. The characters could confront the fact that perhaps they've been relying too much on Aang as the Avatar and what they'll do now without the Avatar.
Also, it would be really funny if Aang woke up and picked up his glider to jump off that boat, then just fell into the ocean, and Katara needed to fish him out. (Which would then transition into the dramatic revelation that he has lost his bending!!!)
Katara could use her healing abilities to tell Aang that what's happened to him feels a lot like Ty Lee's chi-blocking. Katara would then probably try to emphasize with Aang, who gets angry with her and says she has no idea what this feels like! Katara could then have a really good intimate scene with Aang over how scary it was when the Moon Spirit was killed, what it physically felt like to lose that spiritual connection, and how scared she was even afterwards about what it would have been like to permanently lose that connection to her people and her culture. Aang then apologizes to Katara and they resolve to find his bending again.
Aang then goes on some spiritual journey with his friends to reconnect with his bending and his past lives as the Avatar. Probably some partially internal spiritual journey with Guru Pathik's teachings. Katara and Toph could both talk about what bending means to them personally as different people, and also what it feels like to them as they interact with the elements of the world around them.
Aang could have some cool fight scenes where he dodges some random thugs using all of his bending skills (martial arts) without the actual bending, air-bending techniques, water-bending techniques, and earth-bending techniques, and then finally some chi-blocking techniques that Guru Pathik showed him. There could be some scene where Aang saves a kid from these random thugs and realizes that he can still do good in the world even if he's not the Avatar! Even if he's not a bender anymore!
There could also be some REALLY funny scenes of Aang trying to get Appa and Momo to teach him how to reconnect with his air-bending. Aang mimicking their movements and so on. (Sokka: "Is that... working so far, buddy?" Aang: "NO! They're terrible teachers!!!" Cue sad Appa bleating and offended Momo chittering.)
You could even do it in a cycle of sorts, where Aang reconnects with his air-bending first using Guru Pathik's teachings and his friends' help. (He is OVERJOYED.) And then Aang slowly regains water-bending and earth-bending over the next few episodes, culminating in him having to face his fears learning fire-bending again. I think you could accomplish this storyline by squeezing it into about 3-4 episodes, or else starting off with losing then regaining air-bending plus the Avatar state in the first 2 episodes of the season and then threading relearning the other elements in the background through later episodes.
ANOTHER option where Aang temporarily loses his bending is after the eclipse, because he has a spiritual crisis over the fact that he was resolved to kill someone and he really doesn't want to do that. I don't like this option so much because it feels a little too late in the season compared to kicking off Book 3 with the drama of Aang losing his bending(!!!), but it's an option.
See, if Aang temporarily loses his bending and has to find it again somehow, then the show could establish what this kind "energy-bending" and spiritual manipulation within a person looks like. If Aang has had to get his bending BACK, then it would better establish Aang then using this ability he has now practiced on himself to take bending away from another person. It's a pleasantly surprising twist that Aang figures out how to reverse a previously established energy-bending technique and successfully uses it against Ozai.
And then the ending, though arguably still in the realm of a Deus Ex Machina (which is cool), would feel more like "Step 3) Payoff" instead of "What just happened?" We needed to see more obviously that Aang was capable of ANY kind of energy-bending before it saved the day like that.
Anyway! This post became way longer than originally intended! I hope this has made it clear that I like both the lion turtles and energy-bending as concepts. I think there are many elements in the show that begin to introduce lion turtles and energy-bending as Aang uses it as things that COULD exist. I just think that the show needed some kind of additional baking step in the middle to establish a pattern and use those ingredients to foreshadow that specific "an ancient lion turtle teaches Aang energy-bending and Aang then uses it against someone else" ending.

The Vicquisition, Translated
so, I keep going on and on about how I'm going to do a new, and revised translation of Phantom Of The G4, given that I am fluently bilingual in both Chinese and English. well, today I had the urge to translate... a certain segment of the game, both to see what I'm getting myself into, and to confirm the things I've heard it means for a certain character. that, of course, being my dearly beloved, Victor. specifically, his only appearance in POTG4 where he asks Vincent and Vanora a series of questions in order to let them pass deeper into the Myers facility.
I don't have the game itself, yet. because I abide by the rules to play VTSOM first. instead, I found a video of someone's playthrough of it - the audio is in Chinese, and not all dialogue options are covered. but in the meantime, this is quite a lot...
without further ado, my translation, notes and other commentary below the cut. Victor's lines are in red, Vincent's in purple, and Vanora's in pink.
想要我讓開很簡單。你只需要回答一些我的問題。 If you want me to make way, it’s very easy. You just need to answer some of my questions.
the player is given a yes/no prompt, and selects yes
很好。 Very good.
我們上次見面是什麼時候了,文森? When was the last time we met, Vincent?
你以為我會記得這種事?真是自作多情。 You think that I’d remember this sort of thing? What wishful thinking. (Note: The second sentence was a bit difficult to translate bc there’s several meanings to this phrase 自作多情 (literally "self-make-many-feelings"), from being overly sentimental to self-flattery/imagining yourself as everyone’s favourite person)
是這樣嗎? Is that so?
難道你不記得你我引以為傲的那件事了?我們那時候到達的是任何人都無比渴求的巔峰。 Could it be that you don’t remember what we were so proud of? What we had reached then was a peak everyone had been longing for.
而你卻說過,財富、知識、榮耀… And still, you have said: wealth, knowledge, glory...
player is given 3 options to finish his sentence: 是每個人都渴求的。 "… are what everyone longs for." 都毫無意義。 "… are completely and utterly meaningless." 不過是權力幾種類型。 "… are just various forms of power."
the player picks the second option
你這句話就已經背叛了來這裡的初衷了。 What you said here goes against your original intention to come here.
我隱約記得,文森·埃奇沃從來不會後悔。 From what I vaguely remember, Vincent Edgeworth never, ever regrets.
最可怕的敵人,就是沒有堅強的信念。而能夠被輕易擊敗的人根本不配存在於這個世界上。 The scariest enemy, is to lack strong belief. And people who can be easily defeated are not worthy of existing upon this world.
he kills you with one smack of his metal hand. game over, go back to previous save…
this time the player picks the third option of above
而我們已經擁有了這些,甚至更多。 And we already had these, if not even more.
我們?別開玩笑了。 "We?" Stop joking around.
財富、知識、榮耀。沒有我哪一個你能保住? Wealth, knowledge, glory. Without me, which one could you have kept?
沒記錯的話,你還因為此時欠在下一瓶酒。 If I’m not remembering wrong, you still owe me the next bottle of alcohol for this. (Note: In Chinese, the word they use can both specifically refer to wine, and all kinds of alchohol in general.)
一如既往的自負,你還是嗜馬丁尼如命? Conceited as always, and still so fond of/addicted to martini like your life depends on it? (Note: Is the "addiction" literal or metaphorical? Maybe both? Truly we will never know.)
這還需要在下解釋? Do I still have to explain this further?
的確,好的基酒對一杯馬丁尼十分重要。 Indeed, a good base spirit is essential for a martini.
3 dialogue options for the player again, all with the following structure: 所以我當然不會放過到手的頂級⋯。 "And so, of course I will always have some top tier [option below] on hand." 杜松子酒 gin (Note: Literally "juniper berry wine" which I didn’t recognise at first bc usually I see it written as 琴酒 which reflects it phonetically) 白蘭地 brandy 伏特加 vodka
the player picks the third option
伏特加?你以為自己是在調製什麼? Vodka? Just what do you think you are mixing here?
player gets two options to answer him with: 一杯血腥瑪麗。 A Bloody Mary. 一杯激情海岸。 A "Passion Coast". (Note: I've done some rudimentary research on cocktails, but have never heard of something with a name like this. If anyone knows what this is, I'd appreciate the help. EDIT: a friend of mine on discord has informed me that it's most likely referring to the cocktail called Sex On The Beach)
player picks first option
血腥瑪麗?人道,「惟有經歷諸多苦難才能懂的苦難賦予你的意義」。 Bloody Mary? People say, "only by experiencing much suffering can you understand the meaning the suffering bestowed upon you."
虛假的苦難,虛假的血腥。這和你的過去比起來算什麼? False suffering, false blood. How does this even compare to your past?
我親愛的文森,你都已經忘記了你所承受的一切嗎?那你的存在就沒有意義了嗎? My dear Vincent, have you forgotten all that you’ve had to go through? And now your existence no longer has meaning?
he kills you, game over, go back to previous save
player picks vodka again and then second option of above
激情海岸?一向只喜歡乾身酒的你,怎麼可能喝這些果汁飲品呢。 Passion Coast? You’ve always only liked dry cocktails, how could you drink this kind of fruity/juice based beverage?
and again, he kills you. bro, stop judging people's taste in drinks 😭
player picks gin for the original question
這個自然。等我們從這個鬼地方出去,我給你便是。 Naturally. Once we get out of this damn/accursed place, I’ll give you some.
慢著,那件事指的是什麼? Wait a second, what do you mean by "that thing/event/incident" ? (Note: I take it she’s referring to the above "what we were so proud of" thing)
薇諾拉,「好奇心是大腦貪求的慾望」。慾念太強對身體可不好呢。 Vanora, curiosity is a desire the brain craves. And to desire for it too strongly is not good for the body.
看來你的這位同伴想知道的格外多呢。 Looks like this companion of yours knows quite a lot.
作為一名律師,我能做的僅僅只能讓人摒棄自己的信仰罷了。她的好奇心與我無關。 As a lawyer, all I can do is make people abandon their own beliefs. Her curiosity has nothing to do with me.
沒想到你也有無能為力的一天? And you didn’t think you’d also have a day where you’d be powerless?
對方可是要以妨害執行公務的罪名將我逮捕呢,你說是吧,薇諾拉女士? The other side/party wants to capture me for interfering with official duties. Isn’t that so, Miss/Lady Vanora?
哈哈哈。堂堂梅爾斯職業律師居然會因此害怕? Hahaha. The dignified professional lawyer of Myers is scared of this?
再厲害也不過是一個俗人,出生起就已經被政府的一紙契約束縛著了。 No matter how mighty one is they are still a common person, already bound by a government contract at birth.
這麼說來,我突然想起你當年引用的一句話。不帶劍的契約不過是一紙空文… What you said, suddenly reminds me of something you said back then. A contract without a sword, is simply a blank paper.
player is given 3 options now, to respond: 而政府的職責,便是化身為此劍。 And the government’s duty is to manifest as this sword. 它毫無力量去保障任何人的安全。 It has absolutely no power to protect anyone’s safety. 只有突破這本不存在的枷鎖,才能真正跳出羊圈。 Only by breaking these nonexistent shackles can one truly jump out of the sheepfold.
player picks the third option
跳出羊圈?真是荒謬。 "Jump out of the sheepfold?" How ridiculous.
有一些人的存在,是註定不能被救贖的。 Some people’s existences are doomed to never be redeemed.
and again he kills you, because dragon cult ahh belief
player picks the first option
…真是有趣的答案。 … what an interesting/funny answer. (Note: Yes, in Chinese we use the same word for both of these)
不過我倒還記得一句話,地獄是太晚發覺的真相。那麼恭喜你獲得一張免費的地獄門票。 However, this reminds me of another saying, "hell is a truth/reality discovered too late." And so, congratulations on earning a free ticket to hell.
this time he isn't just killing you, he's SLAYING because holy shit if that isn't badass I don't know what is
player picks the remaining second option
話雖如此,你可是從來沒有怕過。 You say this, but you’ve never been afraid of it before.
我們都是遊走在劍鋒的人,這一點你沒資格說我。 We’re all people who walk on the point of a sword, you have no right to tell me this.
那你回到此地是為了什麼? Then why did you come back to this place?
and again, 3 dialogue options for the player 任何東西都有一種特有的功能,某種工作許只有它能做。 Everything has a unique function, and there are some jobs that only it can do. 無論這個漩渦有多令人絕望,我總是要走這一遭的。 No matter how hopeless this whirlpool/spiral/vortex will make me, I was always going to walk this path. 在下解釋過了是受人所迫。 I’ve explained that I was forced to do this.
player picks the third option
受人所迫? "Forced?"
文森,任何人用這個藉口我都會半信半疑一下。至於你,我是絕對不會信的。 Vincent, everyone who uses this excuse, I will doubt (literally, "half-believe-half-suspect") for a moment. And in your case, I would never believe it.
and he kills you. we are so close to the end, yet so far…
player picks the first option, which becomes slightly modified for Vincent to say
任何東西都有一屬於它自己的功能。某種工作或許只有它能做,甚至比其他人更好。 Everything has its own function. There are some jobs that only it can do, sometimes better than other people, even.
真正的贏家只會讓這件東西為他所用,並讓他物超所值。弱肉強食,我只是不想看庸人螳臂擋車罷了。 True winners will only use this thing for their own ends, and give it an excellent value. The weak are meat and the strong eat, I just don’t want to see mediocre people biting off more than they can chew. (Note: The phrase they used here, 螳臂擋車, literally translates to "a mantis using its arm to block a cart", meaning to underestimate what you’re taking on)
所以,請問你問完了嗎?你已經浪費了我太多的時間了。 So, may I please ask if you’re done asking? You’ve already wasted far too much of my time.
確實。你做的很好,文森。我想,我也沒什麼好多說的了。 Indeed. You did very well, Vincent. I think I don’t have anything more to say either.
he moves out of Vincent and Vanora’s way
那就祝你們好運了。 Then I wish you two good luck.

I have more Coruscant culture thoughts... So I've already talked about the artistic aspect here (possible bad aspects of the Elite's taste in arts, in reference to Bernard Palissy and Benvenuto Cellini, two Renaissance artists) and here (more focused on the mediums used, especially by the lower levels people).
But I haven't talked about religion and its artistic productions much yet. And now I have ideas.
Well, first, everybody on Coruscant (and the Core at large) would know about the Force because, obviously, the principal Temple of the Jedi Order is there. But that doesn't mean everybody believe in it in a spiritual/cultual way (what I mean is that it won't necessarily be part of people's religion, even if they know it exists). But it could lead to some interesting beliefs fusions and assimilations (in the same spirit as the take that the Manda and the Force are one and the same). But that's another subject.
To that, is added the multiculturalism of Coruscant, especially its lower levels. People came to this planet and have bring their culture with them, which also means their religions and cults. And then they were all mixed together so there would be cultural exchanges and influences, including as I said with the Force. It won't necessarily be systematic at all, but it could frame the evolutions and enrich the practice and traditions.
Coruscant's levels would be recipients of so many different celebrations and holidays, some would merge together (especially solstices celebrations, and different traditions could be mixed together depending on the resources on hand or just the families and levels). Good luck trinkets and talismans and other little amulets and spiritual objects, divinities figurines, of so many different cultures and homeworld would be sell in the markets and the streets. Maybe some levels have temples of those various religions (or the equivalent spiritual place).
Little homemade and customized altars could be find at the corner of two streets, or hidden in nooks formed by Coruscant's eclectic organisation. Sometimes a few people stops in front of it to add some offerings or pay their homages or pray.
Little solaces of devotion hidden in everyday's landscape.
But it could also be non religious. Just like sometimes we put marks on the places we lost a loved one to a roadkill (in Greece it's sort of little altars, small constructions that are lit up with a candle at night to mark the spot, in France it's often flowers or a sign, it can be with a photo of the lost one or just a mark of love like hearts or such), maybe there is such reminders adorning Coruscant lower levels. It could be because of a speeder accident, gang wars, a bounty hunter that don't care about casualties.... Still, there would be proofs of loved ones being lost all around the lower levels, warning of the dangerous places for others. It could be in the forms of holos sure, but maybe people from a more aquatic world would decorate those places with shells and synthetic pearls and sand. Species from forest planets would always carve a piece of wood in honor of their deads. Some knit and sew pieces of fabrics and change those regularly so that this sort of altar is always covered by resistant and clean clothes.
Maybe some of those places with spiritual or personal significances would be important for many different species and cultures, and as such would be covered in vastly different creations and arts, proofs of various practices unified by one place, one person, one belief.
But yes, in between the flashy adds and enormous metal constructions, in the middle of all this display of cyberpunk that Coruscant can be at times, little places for faith and love and grief and hope, covered in traditional or less traditional art and productions. Just people, common people, living on that planet and marking it as theirs, putting hints of their lives everywhere they can and want.

Info about requests
This post is to clarify all the rules regarding requests, how this would work and have all the information about that topic
Please read this before requesting anything, if you don't follow some rule or ask something it was established here that it's a no the request will be deleted without thinking twice
Tumblr media
What I'll do...
MOGAI/LIOM flags & terms
Queer/LGBTQIA+ flags & terms
Attractions flags & terms
Xenogenders & neogenders
Nonhuman, alterhuman, otherkin, therian & other similar categories, I can create a new general label or a specific one for an existing one
Disorders, disabilities & mental illness related flags & maybe terms, for awareness / representation / visibility /other
System/CDD flags & terms (Nothing related to endo or syscourse)
x4x / xLx flags & terms
xIN / X In nature flags & terms
Presentation flags & terms
Fictioreligions
Non flag symbol for something (Ask)
Mix of two or more of the mentioned things for the creation of new terms & flags
Silly joke flags & terms
Make flags/symbols for existing terms with the permission of the term coiner
Maybe more things will be added and this is not 100% static, you can ask and I might do another kind of coining not put in here and update this list, for now this is what I'm sure I will coin
Please try to be specific when requesting, that would make my job more easy and it would be more likely for me to choose to do it
Tumblr media
What I won't do...
Anything related to any kind of discourse/discussion (syscourse, lgbtq/queercourse, etc.)
Kinks & related
Paraphilic terms that have to do with anything anti-recovery, pro-contact or related
Anything that's anti-recovery
Offensive things
Any kind of discrimination or attack related
Anything that encourages hate, harassment or problematic behavior
Pronouns flag & anything pronouns related
Anything anime related (Exceptions might be pokemon & dragon ball)
Tumblr media
Depends in the case...
This things are in a dependens case, so you can requests this and it will depend in many factors (that I won't be listing for easiness of the post) if I'll do it or not
NSFW related (This include sexual & gore topics)
Problematic series, people, movies, etc.
Religion related (Fictioreligions don't count here)
Stances & beliefs
Tumblr media
Queer/LGBTQIA+/MOGAI/LIOM Disclaimer...
A personal stance I have when coining this kind of things is "If that's not your experience and fight you can't do something of that fight/minority/group"
This mean some of this mentioned terms won't be done even if they're in my ok list, this is because I have the belief that if I do some term or symbol/flag for something that's not from me I'm appropriating a fight and fight isn't mine and therefore what I coin would be invalid
I won't be super strict with this rule, in case of some request that aligned with the experience and fight of some alter in my system I would ask them to do the coining instead, it would be me the one uploading it but it will be done by an alter who shares the label, this is to make sure I'm not appropriating anything
If you do a request of this kind and it never gets a response this is the reason, so don't get mad for this, I will be doing this kind of coining but following my own moral rules
Tumblr media
End...
If you have doubts regarding this rules, if you want to ask if I will coing a specific type of thing that isn't mentioned here or anything similar you can do it sending an anonymous ask or commenting here in this post, I'll gladly respond
Any request that I don't like, that might be triggering for me, that don't follow this rules or something similar would be deleted and not done, I have the right to deny any request I want

So some people had the argument that this is based on fish and mermaids could be considered mammals, which is true. So let's compare to mammals living in the ocean:
This is a dolphin skeleton:
Tumblr media
As you can see, no knees. The way they swim is also similar to that of a mermaid.
This is a baileen whale:

Some have also pointed out that there would be no need for a pelvis, but as you can see, these two still both have them, though barely.
If we go with evolution, mermaids are likely way younger than either of these two, so they didn't have the time to de-evolve the pelvis yet. Maybe in 10 more million years, mermaids would also start lacking proper pelvic structures. Or maybe it would still be there, if the reproductive organ is still where it would be on humans.
I've also seen the beluga whale argument. This is how their skeleton looks like:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
They don't have knees either. That picture that so many are sharing isn't a knee, it's fat and skin. Idk where the belief came from that they have knees, but they certainly don't.
Now the seals argument. Yes, they do have knees, but that is part of their hind limbs. Not to mention when they swim, it doesn't bend like that either, it still looks flowy. The equivalent of that would be if we put knees on the end of a mermaid tail, before the caudal fin starts, as that is usually pretty bendable, like it is with fish. Here is a picture of a seal skeleton:
Tumblr media
So this could be the fin that has some leftover structure of legs, while the rest of the mermaid tail could be an elongated spine. Though if that was the case, the tails would most likely be shorter.
What's incorrect with comparing seals though, is that they are semi aquatic. Mermaids live in the ocean and are fully aquatic. Whether they can breathe underwater or if they need to come up for air like dolphins or whales is something different that fully depends on how the person wants them to be, but they're still fully aquatic, so the two don't compare. However they could still have a leg like structure as the caudal fin, which I will draw myself and post it here later.
And while I agree with people that this is a mythical creature that doesn't exist, we still need to take into account that you can't draw something and disregard biology entirely, even if that is an art style. Say manga style for example. The proportions still need to be realistic, even though the art style is unrealistic. You can draw dragons, but you can't just make them have bodies that contort in ways that's impossible. Yes, they aren't real. And yes, you can draw a mermaid as a part eel, or snake, or octopus or whatever else, but even then you have to take into account how that animal moves and is, and add that to the human movements. Now, does this mean you can't bend a mermaid tail? Absolutely not. You can! Make it really flexible, so you can bend it, but make the bend softer. For that, I think looking at snakes is actually perfect. Look at how their bodies look when fully bent. That's how they should be. But a mermaid having a knee, especially where it is usually depicted, is just entirely unscientific. Yes I know science isn't the most important part of drawing, but when you want to make it look nice, you have to add that to the mix as well. Same with drawing anything else, really. People will see if something is off about a drawing of a face, of a dog, of a butterfly, of a tree. There are only certain ways you can twist something into an art style before it becomes completely incorrect. One show and its spinoff that managed to make this look well (it's the only one I'm familiar with, so there may be more), is H2O and Mako Mermaids. The actors only have fake tails on, but still they managed to swim in a way that makes their tails look realistic, there are some scenes where they do bend their knees a little too much and it's visible if you're looking, but majority of the time they swim in a way that makes their bodies look fluid. Those two series I think are perfect for "real" mermaid references, with how they swim and move in the water. Especially because their tails and swimming in general wasn't all CGI, but actual molds and suits, and they had to take lessons and the swimming scenes were in pools, the beginning of the ocean or most times in the aquarium in Australia that I forgot the name of. So they were actually moving in water.
So anyway I will post later on (hopefully today) how a mermaid with seal-like bone structure would look like. I already know it won't look pleasant...as I already have something pictured in my head. I hope I'm not pissing people off with this lol.
Also, to the "look at how snakes bend" argument, here are some pictures, that you can reference when drawing mer people with bent tails:

Be Irresistible, Click Here Clinical Psychologist Orion Taraban @psychacks on what men misunderstand about what an "equal" relationship means. to the extent that it's true that women find men who are wealthy and professionally successful attractive then they might think oh well if I find that attractive in a man then perhaps a man will find that attractive in me combine that with the idea that I'm looking for my equal women who pursue that path are often not very successful in the sexual Marketplace I think it's safe to say that you bring a lot of hard truths to men a lot of things about female psychology that they don't realize and maybe they should have realized a long time ago so what would you say that women are attracted or what kind of man are women attracted to oo wow so we know that attraction is both a very personal decision based on your experiences and your goals but it's also informed by let's say certain biological realities so attraction is a mix of things that are culturally influenced and biologically determined mediated by personal experience and preference so it's very difficult to say this man is what all women want and that's why this space can be so contentious because anytime you get more particular about it someone will say well that doesn't sound good to me or that's not what I'm looking for as if that invalidates the entire uh let's say archetype um but in general we know that individually if you control for all other things women will select this quality over this other quality like in general if all of the things are being equal every other part of a man's personality lifestyle and presentation are exactly the same and one guy's significantly wealthier than the other they're going to choose the wealthier guy because why not choose the wealthier guy if two guys are completely identical in all the respects but one guy is 62 and the other guy is 5'4 why not choose the 62 guy so we do know that by examining things in that peac meal way that women typically want men who are a little bit older who are stronger who are taller who make more money who are a higher status who are more successful and are capable of inviting them into an emotionally compelling lifestyle that's part of what women are attracted to what they want also depends on their goals contrary to popular belief some women just want to some women just want to have sex um and when they're looking for that they prioritize a different subset of qualities than when they're looking to say get married and settle down so what a woman is looking for depends on what she wants MH I noticed a lot of when you were giving the description of what they're attracted to or what women are attract to there's a lot of Moors in there mhm a man who's more successful than them financially a man who's taller than them who's more capable what what do you think about Equitable marriages or or uh marriages based on Equity is that is that the term they're using now you mean like 50-50 relationships where I want to marry my equal that kind of a thing yes well I think that they'll only work for a very small subset of people and those people need to be very committed to those ideals and they need to be excellent communicators and negotiators which most people are not so what I've learned is that most women don't actually want 50-50 relationships and it's actually pretty easy to ex to understand why in our culture it It's Not Unusual if a man were to pay for everything you know what no one would think that that was strange um so a 50-50 relationship probably is this enormous discount for a man to enter into a relationship because he could be expected to pay up to 100% by the same token in our culture no one would look a scance if a woman was paying 0% or investing 0% because and she's investing zero if the guy's investing 100 and she probably won't go much past 50% investment like the idea that a woman is going to be paying for 7030 of a relationship a woman's just going to
look at that Arrangement and think this isn't worth it for me you know this is a net loss to my necessarily limited resources so 50 is like as far as she'll go in that relationship and that's why the 50/50 thing doesn't work because even though it is fair it doesn't feel Fair it's an enormous discount on what might be culturally expected of the man and it's kind of like as as much as a woman is willing to take on within the cultural expectations within that relationship so what feels fair is not always what is fair and vice versa another the other part of this is to try to find your equal this is something that really tripped me up when I was younger I was um very much interested in finding a woman who could meet me intellectually let's put it that way and I was interested in quantum mechanics and esoteric spirituality and Shakespearean literature and I just kept getting disappointed by the conversations that I was having with the women that I was dating and I thought I just I just can't see myself in this relationship and I potentially disqualified women that I could have had very satisfying relationships with on that ground I remember I explained the situation to one of my mentors many many years ago and he just looked at me incredulously and said Orion why do you need to talk to a woman about quantum mechanics it's like do you need a woman for that it's like this light bulb went off on the top of my head and it's and I thought you know what if I want to talk about quantum mechanics I can find someone else to talk about quantum mechanics so I don't necessarily need that from my intimate romantic partner so the idea that I need someone to meet me intellectually or who has the same depth of feeling as I do or who is interested in the kinds of things that I'm interested in all of that is nonsense to me and it gets in people's way more often than it helps them to find satisfying relationship Partners is there a kind of Common Thread that is intersecting the relationship problems you're seeing with your male clients well I do talk I I made a couple episodes recently about men and women's biggest enemies and the way I see it in today's sexual Marketplace women's greatest enemy is their pride and men's greatest enemy is their cowardice and that cowardice because you asked about men is expressed in a number of different ways from just I'm too terrified to approach a woman or to express my sexual attraction to I am too terrified to because of its social implications to take the lead in this relationship and or Andor to be the head of the family that that's uh potentially oppressive that that is sexist that that is a deviation from the 50-50 relationship of the way that things should look in an equitable partnership I mean partnership is already kind of a it's a word that carries a lot of difficult connotations because it does suggest that kind of like 50-50 thing and most women don't want a 50-50 thing most women want a relationship that significantly improves their lives because they can get that what do you think they mean by 50/50 then like some part of them has to know that they want they like I want to a husband who's disproportionately better than me but the relationship needs to be 5050 like what do you think is the expectation the expectation is that I want 5050 share in sort of the decision making and let's say I want to be an equal stakeholder when it comes to vote but I don't necessarily want to have an equal share of the responsibilities for governing maintaining directing and executing the relationship and this is tricky I mean it's kind of why in the United States we have two branches of Congress we have the Senate and the House of Representatives in the Senate every state has two senators so that way the big states don't just completely make the small states irrelevant mhm but that's ridiculous so you can't have a state like Wyoming which has less than a million people have equal to completely equal parity with a state
like California that has I don't know like 50 times the number of people that would be incredibly unfair be disproportionately would make Wyoming disproportionately powerful and California disproportionately power less so you need both like there is a sense that men and women are are equal partners and should be treated as such but there is a sense that you know he or she who pays the piper calls the tune and if you're investing more in the relationship you should have a greater say in the decision-making of that relationship like both things are true now how to navigate that in a relationship is very difficult we do it in Congress by actually having different people fulfill those different roles in different branches of Congress um so It's tricky to do when if if it was just a unicameral Congress is supposed to a bamal does that make sense yeah yeah well one thing that I I did mention in that episode is that once I personally made the decision that I was going to move forward in my interactions with women in a romantic context in the sense that I was no longer going to be interested in in figuring out what they want this is going to sound bad but kind of like what they want is irrelevant I need to be clear about what I want want and I need to be on my mission and about creating and manifesting that in my life and to the extent that I'm successful I will have an emotionally compelling lifestyle I will have a successful career I will have a high status profession I will be happy personally I'll be healthy I'll be like in my I'll be thriving because I'm doing what works for me and what I know that I and manifesting what I know that I want and I make that VIs I to other women and then women get to kind of self select in or not and a lot of women they're going to see that and they're going to be like nope it's not exactly what I want or that's not at all what I want and they'll just pass me by it's totally fine but the idea that I'm going to go through all of that work just so that I can surrender it over to a woman who might just show up is I mean that's absurd that's never going to happen so I'm very much in the driver's seat in my relationships and I allow and like the do always open so at any time this doesn't work you can you can leave but like you're the passenger I'm the driver because I built the car I know how to drive it I know how it operates better than anybody um so as long as this works for you let's let's drive together but I'm not a taxi cab you don't just get to show up and tell me where we're going like that's that makes you disproportionately powerful does that make sense and I think I think it took some courage on my part to basically say I'm forgoing the strategy of trying to enter into a sexual relationship with a woman by catering to her desires which I think is what most guys start off doing because on some level that's what Hollywood or their culture teaches them or that's kind of the misguided advice that they get from other women or uh the men in their lives who often don't know what they're doing either yeah that that was uh my misconception up until probably say my early 20s wasum oh I just have to like make her the purpose oh no don't do that it was like it was like make her the purpose like respect goes down and it did not work out because women don't really want to be the center of your life that is also way too much power for them and you'd have to kind of already be somewhat narcissistic to desire that amount of power and so there's some women out there there's some men out there who desire that kind of uh that degree of control over other people um but no they they want to they want to be able to like look up to a man and that man is generally looking at something else that man is generally looking at something else not down at the woman yeah I hear that's supposed to be one of the one of the effective dating profile pictures is basically you have a guy looking at the camera and then you have an
adoring woman looking up at him and that's supposed to be really effective oh man it's like pict all the old Hollywood posters used to do this before we got um infected with wokeism like look at the old Star Wars poster do you remember that one can you picture in your mind between his legs on the floor yep that's his sister you know and so Leia's like curled around one of Luke's legs looking up at him and Luke has the phallic lightsaber and he's looking up at the stars and it's like that's a posture that existed in almost every action adventure movie from that era yeah yeah speaking of that what do you think the um so there's been kind of like a gradient ramping us up to the current wokeness and I think along the way was a lot of this oh men you should you're not supposed to be stronger more competent whatever than a woman you're supposed to be equal and so do you think that has something to do with men's lack of Courage like they were talked out of being courageous surely there's all these other peripheral factors like if you're watching porn all the time you never have to muster up the courage to actually talk to a woman I mean yeah from a very young age I was taught men and women are equal men and women are equal men and women are equal and that can be interpreted as in many many different ways the the correct interpretation in my opinion is to understand like the way that we use that language in say the Declaration of Independence which is that all man all men like the human race men and women all men are created equal like we're all equal before some sort of higher authority that from a spiritual level no one person's life has more value or dignity than any other person's life but when we get down to to this Earthly realm where people have to make decisions using limited resources some people are absolutely more valuable than others and that depends on your goals it's like if your toilet is clogged a plumber is much more valuable than a cardiologist in that moment do you understand and even among all plumbers some are going to be more valuable than others to you some's going to have you know this one has 8 festar reviews this one has two this one is three times more expensive this one is more affordable so it's like there's going to be better options for you given your re resources and your goals at the present moment okay so I think when you teach kids that men and women are equal what they often hear is that men and women are the same because that's another interpretation of equality like when we say 1 + 2 equals 3 we're basically saying that those two mathematical propositions are interchangeable that we can we can commute them around and we don't lose any truth that statement is the same backwards and forwards that's what equality is from a logical perspective right and so I think what that has potentially done culturally is kind of made men more feminine and women more masculine and I believe that that has made that has created some opportunities for the sexual Marketplace but it's mostly created confusion and liabilities and do you think that makes us less attracted to each other cuz me personally I don't sure want a more masculine woman yeah so sometimes there's this failure of interex understanding so for example like we were talking about earlier to the extent that it's true that women find men who are wealthy and professionally successful attractive or more attractive than men who are less wealthy and less successful all the things being equal then they might think oh well if I find that attractive in a man then perhaps a man will find that attractive in me so I'm going to prioritize becoming high powerered and high earning and high status and combine that with the idea that I'm looking for my equal um these women who pursue that path are often not very successful in the sexual Marketplace because generally by the time they're able to get access to those equally powerful High status men they're much older and those
powerful High status men don't want to wife up women in their late 30s or early 40s especially if they can get someone much younger who is a more attractive reproductive option do you think that that the corollary of that is men's saying if I'm more EXP impressive with my emotions and I reveal my emotions more she's going to like that cuz that's what women like exactly yep mhm and men are told to to be more vulnerable to be more emotional Express emotionally expressive uh to be more caring and you know on taking that to extreme they often there's a subgroup of you know the current discourse that also calls traditional male qualities of like stoicism uh and res you know that kind of emotional resilience to be toxic uh that it's bad for men I could there there might be some degree of truth to it it's like I know men who are so removed from their own emotions that they wouldn't know if they were feeling anything if it came up and slapped them in the face you know that they've practiced repressing their emotions for so long that they've completely on some level lost access to that dimension of their self which is kind of sad I can see that but if there's an alternative between that man and the man who's spilling his purse all over the place I I think it's probably best at least in terms of his success in the sexual Marketplace for him to be the former than the latter to check out the full 2-hour interview with Orion go to my other YouTube channel Joseph Everett that's spelled e v r t [Music] ...

An insane ramble about a possible medical take on werewolves—
The human body defies logic from day to day. Some poor person will pop up with a disease of some kind that scientists and medical professionals alike haven’t seen or rather a drastic mutation in a common virus or disease that leaves it unrecognizable. The human body is the perfect incubator for such things. Unlike other animals humans treat and or cure themselves of viruses through chemicals mixed with natural herbs. In some cases these viruses/diseases thrive quickly growing immune to our efforts to prevent them.
Let’s think of lycanthropy as a medical disease and when I say think I mean genuinely view it as such. Dispensed your belief.
Like most medical diseases lycanthropy, if real, could be genetic or debilitating to some.
Lycanthropy Genetics
You are born with 46 chromosomes. 23 from your birthing parent and 23 from your assisting parent. These microscopic building blocks of the human body make you up. Let’s say you inherited Lycanthropy or a predisposition to it from your birthing parent or assisting parent. Depending on if the gene is present in inheritance and or active or dormant you yourself could have Lycanthropy. Obviously, there aren’t any genuine studies on this but through using a common base knowledge traits and trait inheritance it can be at least speculative. Taking advantage of what we already know about the human body, we can chalk Lycanthropy up to something more normal like having red hair or unique eye color.
When I’m talking about Lycanthropes you may be thinking of eight foot tall humanoid creatures walking on two dog-like legs with the head of a wolf, or maybe you’re leaning more toward giant wolf creatures that are built like your standard wolf but are far from it. In my more realistic approach lycanthropes do not change proportions or shift into inhuman creatures rather they’re more tamed than that. The afflicted keep their bodies in a human state. Furthermore, I do think werecreatures are in a different category than your standard shifter, people/ creatures who can take the form of other people/ creatures. The broader category could be considered to be Aliquid alteri (changing thing).

Ah, social media "dog experts"! I would never claim to be a dog expert myself, but I would like to say I've learned some. Or, rather, I don't immediately trust everyone acting like they're speaking fact.
For example, this person:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I fully agree with two of these points. Dogs do not understand concepts like right and wrong. Not all dogs are friendly and can adapt to every situation.
Everything else is... Hmmmm, debatable or not quite proven one way or the other.
Or it turns out this person is pointing at the wrong thing, as shown in the captions:
Tumblr media
What this person is actually talking about is reasoning. The dog does remember the couch, but the dog cannot reason that you're yelling at them because of it. (This person turns off comments because "no one can read" and everyone arguing with them is only using anecdotal evidence. As if Instagram is the place to hold your scientific debate with sources.)
Also, a quick search does show that it is proven that dogs (and cats) have some form of long term memory. Here's from PetMD:
Tumblr media
Anecdotally, if dogs don't have long term memory, then please explain how my dog remembers her BFF Odin the Rottweiler/Cane Corso mix despite not seeing him all winter or my mother, who she hadn't seen in months.
As for planning ahead, there doesn't seem to be a whole lot of scientific studies regarding this, but there certainly are a lot of anecdotes. They are predators, which being a successful one does require some amount forethought. (Or maybe I just couldn't find the right studies.)
Lastly, for complex emotions, I believe the current belief is that a fully mature dog has the emotional complexity of a 2-2 and a half year old. Here's a chart I found:
Tumblr media
So, yeah, dogs don't really experience a lot of complex emotions. Stubbornness is a behavioral trait, not an emotion though. I should know, considering how my dog will refuse to move from a spot when she wants to go a different direction (she is a shar pei/husky mix, that will happen). As for spite? Might wiggly, depending on how you define it. Dogs are certainly able to be *mad* at a person though, however. Like when I managed to clip my dog's nail and she got mad at me, refusing to come near until I "apologized" with an appropriate treat.

My muse(s): lucina // yours: arthur
Do I know your muse(s):  yes | no | a little | tell me about your muse
Setting: our verse | my verse | your verse | modern | alternate universe | other
[ i feel like these two are close in most of their ideals and beliefs ??? chrom was told he follows the Path of Kings: a person who lives with and for the people, and that is something lucina follows after her father. it is interesting to see how these two interact when all they think about is their people 🤔 maybe it could be set in fate universe or some made-up verse we can have. there is always the 'outrealm gate' option 😂 also the differences are good. lucina didnt need to pull a sword to become the exalt unlike arthur, she inherited the sword and a world of destruction lol. also sorry in advance if she gushed about her father ... ahem.
Pre-established relationships? yes | no | depends on the relationship
Possible relationships: friends | classmate | co-worker | roommate | family, real or adopted | dating or blind date | married | friends with benefits | unrequited love | lending a hand | teacher - student | rivals | allies | partner-in-crime | enemies | protecter - guarded | business partners | spy - infiltrated | manipulator - manipulated | star-crossed | first meeting | other
[slams desk!!!! friends!! sword friends!!! also lucina is super interested in people's sword styles. she likes to learn new tricks and techniques even if she does not use them it is good to know how other people use swords. her style is learned by her father, and a mix of figuring the rest out on her own. arthur style will certainly pique her interest. tbh he definitely gives a more refined form than her. aside from that, she tends to be uh competitive so rivals for sure but a healthy type dont worry haha. these two will definitely lend each other hand in whatever problem they have--two goody-shoes ;u; if by chance stuff develop further its free real estate but thats for them to decide haha.
I’m in the mood for: fluff | angst | horror | romance | humor | crime | hurt / comfort | action | supernatural | slice of life | crack | dark threads | light threads | any genre | multi-para | shorter para | one-line | any length | plotted threads | unplotted threads | other
[im a sucker for 'nothing is happening just chilling and talking about stuff' slice of life. it is as good as action and angst and other genres and sometimes people who are always stressed like these two need a moment to sit down and chat over a nice cup of tea. jazz hands im mood for anything tbh as long as it is fun mwahaha

My muse(s): rokurou // yours: musashi
Do I know your muse(s):  yes | no | a little | tell me about your muse

[rokurou can get a bit obsessed when he finds someone stronger than him. he will definitely bother musashi a lot to fight him every time they meet.

🌸OBSERVATIONS!! (finally lmao)🌱
Credit: Tumblr blog @astrobydalia
It's been a long time coming! So happy for spring being finally here! Here's the long ass observation post you guys asked for. Since it's quite a big amount of observations, I've decided it'd be a good idea to number them so that it's easier to reference them. As always, enjoy them!
🌸 1. Lilith in the 2nd house can indicate something fishy going on with the relationship between the native’s parents.
🌱 2. Malefic placements such as pluto, chiron, Saturn or Lilith in the 12th indicates a lot of skeletons in the closet when it comes to family and family history
🌸 3. Chiron in Aries/1st house or Leo/5th house is kind of bitch placement. The person basically feels like they can’t be themselves and there’s a lot of self-denial and/or not accepting themselves, how they really are, what they really want, etc. Lots of self-esteem issues
🌱 4. People with sexual placements in the 2nd house (Mars, Venus, Lilith, Eros, ruler of the 8th house) base their self-worth on how sexually attractive they are. If they don't feel sexually desirable to everyone, they feel like they're shit
🌸 5. Lilith is what people think Pluto/Scorpio is!!!! All that stuff about magnetic, sexual and intoxicating but dangerous? Lilith.
🌱 6. Scorpio/Pluto in 4th could mean that the person had to work hard to survive something growing up. It could be poverty, their parents’ expectations, an early trauma, etc. Whatever the situation is, the native felt like they grew up in a high-stress environment where they had to endure and survive
🌸 7. When it comes to degrees, the higher the degree, the bigger or stronger the effect. For example Leo degrees (5º, 17º, 29º) are fame degrees. 5th degree would give small fame, 17th degree would be normal and significant fame or recognition inside the person’s field and 29th degree is moreso widespread or permanent fame
🌱 8. Saturn in the 5th house is a huge indicator of turning your hobby into your job. Also these people can be very awkward in their personality
🌸 9. I’ve noticed people with Neptune in the 6th (maybe 2nd) house may have been hospitalized and if Uranus or Pluto are placed here also indicates getting surgery or operations for health reasons
🌱 10. People with Uranus or Pluto in the 1st, 2nd or conjunct the ASC could get surgery due to aesthetic reason
🌸 11. Mercury dominant people (or strong Gemini energy in the chart) like to have or get things quick and easy. For example they prefer a straight forward summary over an in-depth and elaborated explanation with too many details
🌱 12. Your moon sign shows how you see your past. Your 4th house represent how you see your childhood. But your moon represents under which light you always view your past and everything that has happened in your life in general. It also shows the type of stuff from your past you tend to focus on. Since Cancer and Pisces represent past and remenaicence, that's why Cancer and Pisces moons have trouble getting over the past.
🌸 13. Your 10th house on the other hand is how you see your future. Whenever someone asks you “where you see yourself in 5 years?” your 10th house is the one that’ll be answering that question
🌱 14. Gemini moon/mars are the LEAST likely to hold grudges (unless chart says otherwise)
🌸 15. The house where you have your Neptune indicates the themes you tend to lie about, don’t give much info, say stuff about it that are misleading etc. and in consequence people might not have a clear/correct idea of this part of your life
🌱 16. Virgo risings rarely or basically never pose for pictures. They just look straight forward to the camera, sometimes smile and maybe make a small gesture like putting one hand in their pocket or tilt their head but that’s it. (Virgo = minimalism)
🌸 17. Scorpios really don’t give a single fuck they just DON’T 😭💀 Remember this sign is all or nothing, they either care too or don't care AT ALL
🌱 18. I said it once and I’ll say to a hundred times more: Geminis are not two-faced, it’s LIBRA!! Seriously Libras are the FAKEST people I’ve ever met. Why? Because it's ruled by the planet of love (Venus), which means Libra has a knack for being liked by everyone and making everyone feel liked. HOWEVER Libra is an AIR sign and air represents mind, NOT feelings. In conclusion, Libra can make you feel "loved" (venus) and still not give a damn about you bc its air nature makes them prone to emotional detachment. That's why they are able to roast you and make it look like they're complimenting you, specially when they have Scorpio mercury.
🌸 19. Just like you look at where’s the ruler of your rising sign to get more info on your rising, check the ruler of your Sun sign for more info on your personal identity (check sign and house). For ex. I have Virgo Sun in the 9th. Ruler of Virgo=Mercury. I have mercury in Libra in the 10th house which makes me more serious (10th house) and diplomatic/people pleaser (Libra)
🌱 20. If you found that you “couldn’t” do what’s previously described because you’re a Leo sun, check the degree and decan of your Sun
🌸 21. I’ve noticed mercury retrograde people are the type of individuals who always know exactly the right things to say. You’ll always see them take a couple of seconds before answering but they tend to give very good responses
🌱 22. I’ve noticed many women with Virgo Venus/Sun/MC/Lilith have been slut-shamed at some point of their life or they’ve been seen as promiscuous/sexual/etc.
🌸 23. Capricorn moons are not emotionless machines. The thing with these natives is that their mothers treated them like an adult the second they came out of the womb, so basically they skipped the “love and affection” stage and went straight to the “grow up” stage, but they can love really hard and real deep (Capricorn is deep down a very sentimental sign). They are very ride or die people tbh, they are very patient, accepting and understanding
🌱 24. I've noticed that people at first deny their rising sign in Vedic astrology, but eventually they end up accepting it and they actually end up relating to it a lot. I feel like this is because our rising sign in Vedic astrology is usually the sign of our 12th house in Western astrology, which leads me to believe that our 12th house sign is not our shadow side but more like our deep subcontious personality and that's why we have a hard time accepting it when we see it as our rising sign in Vedic astrology. It's like your rising sign (in western) is the director of the play but your 12th house is the energy that previously wrote the script
🌸 25. So many celebrities have moon in the 11th house. Also this placement indicates that you had a mother that put you out there constantly like posting everything about you on social media, bringing you to big events or your mom was “famous” in some capacity
🌱26. Gemini risings tend to believe everything they are told. More specifically, once they find someone that knows a little bit more than them they’ll believe everything they teach them and will most likely rely on them intellectually, for advice, guidance, etc. This is bc they have DSC in Sagittarius which makes them see the people they associate with as masters and mentors while, as a Gemini rising, they identify as an apprentice.
🌸27. Both 8th house and 12th house have been associated with secrets. The different is that the 8th house represents what you CONTIOUSLY and deliberately hide from others and most likely deny to yourself (or not, depends on the person). 12th house on the other hand represents subconscious, things that are hidden even from you and you didn’t even know were hidden. 4th house is not necessarily secrets, it represents privacy, like when people have a sanctuary to just relax, unwind and feel secure, that’s the 4th house.
🌱28. Sun or Moon in the 4th house will make you a sociable but private person.
🌸29. Sun or moon in the 8th house will make you an intriguing and mysterious person.
🌱30. Sun or moon the 12th house makes you a very elusive or wishy-washy person
🌸31. I’ve seen many Scorpio sun/moon/mars/rising individuals obsessed with the idea of being prepared for a catastrophe. They could be the type to, for example, have some saved cash just in case something bad happens with their bank money, have a backup account just in case their main one gets deleted, could have a “leave before you get left” philosophy, etc.
🌱32. Is it just me or the astro community talks a lot about Aries moons???
🌸33. I’ve noticed people with 4th house in Virgo could have been raised in a very judgemental household where there was lots of taboos and prejudice as to what’s right and what’s not and the family was too preoccupied with a perfect and immaculate reputation. For example could have been raised with values such as “only criminals wear tattoos” or “you should stay celibate till marriage or else you’re a whore”, etc. and if the native broke those rules they could have been very criticized and almost loathed by the family. They native could have been highly criticized in general by their family
🌱34. I’ve noticed women that have their moon harshly aspecting Pluto, Uranus and Mars or overall have a very afflicted moon tend to have very painful period cramps
🌸35. Something I have noticed with Venus or Moon conjunct Saturn people is that the concept of unconditional love sounds like alien language to them. That of course doesn’t mean they can’t love but they have this deep belief that they have to achieve something in order to deserve love and stuff like that
🌱36. Also, I just noticed that people with Saturn conjunct sun/moon/Venus/ASC, Capricorn big 3 or Capricorn degrees in personal placements have gone through IT man, specially on an internal level. I've noticed going through depression is a common theme for people with this Capricorn/Saturn influence
🌸37. Virgo Suns could often struggle to find balance between having healthy ego and being humble.
🌱38. Also people with Virgo+Leo energy are the MOOOOST judgmental people out there. Imagine ego mixed with a sense of knowing what’s correct. They tend to believe they’re morally superior and easily liable people as inferior
🌸39. The underdeveloped energy of a sign asimilates negative traits of its sister sign. For example underdeveloped Virgo is overly perfectionist and judgmental to the point where they have unrealistic expectations (Pisces)
🌱40. On the other hand the developed version of a sign is balanced out by understanding its sister sign. For example Leo knows they are unique and special and deserves recognition but understands everyone is also unique in their own way (Aquarius)
🌸41. I’ve noticed a person can very easily manifest the stereotypical characteristics of the sign that naturally rules the house where their chart ruler is. For example if someone’s chart ruler (ruler of the ASC) is in the 7th house the person can easily manifest stereotypical characteristics of Libra like being a people pleaser
🌱42. Sagittarius ASC/Mars people are all fun, amicable and outgoing.... until they don’t get their way. They will get away from people and situations that won’t give them what they want and they can genuinely dislike people solely because those people don’t let them have their way. They tend to go around life like they have a free pass to get away with everything they want.
🌸43. People with ASC-Neptune aspects don’t have a very reliable vision of reality or themselves to be honest. I don’t know how people with this aspect haven’t lost their mind already. They are prone to subconsciously manipulating or easily getting manipulated. With hard aspects this is a lot more obvious but I’ve noticed with easy aspects this energy tends to go almost unnoticed and they easily get away with stuff
🌱44. Have seen many famous people with North node in the 2nd, 5th, 11th and 12th houses specially
🌸45. Air risings or air dominance with Sagittarius placements/degrees are people who love cartoons/animations/videogames regardless of their age.
🌱46. When I got into astrology I didn’t understand why Sun is in detriment in Libra, but oh man... All Libras I’ve met had HUGE issues with trusting themselves. They doubt themselves 24/7 and that’s not even an exaggeration and I’ve noticed they actually may have grown up doubting themselves for some reason or they had a family (their dad) that caused this feeling in them. Also I’ve seen that those Libras with Scorpio placements feel like they have to hide something about themselves otherwise they’ll be rejected. Yes they are endlessly charming, but that's because they have essentially created their personality around the desire of being liked/accepted. They always need to feel they have SOMEONE. Their sense of self, INDIVIDUALITY, independence and assertiveness is lost in the process. Unless they have fire and specially Aries placements to balance this out they can feel like they have no personality and that’s why they are often perceived as fake or shallow.
🌸47. Literally ALL Virgo placements one way or another will always suggest a way to solve your problems when giving emotional support
🌱48. I have a theory that, since 4th house is how you were raised, your home and your parents, your 10th house is how you’d be as a parent yourself and the type of home you’ll create yourself
🌸49. Contrary to my expectations, I’ve seen priests having a much more prominent 4th house (many times combined with 8th house/Scorpio energy) than 12th house. People with 12th house placements or stellium seem to prefer artistic fields rather than classic spirituality
🌱50. The house where you have your Pluto is a house you just can NOT take lightly EVER. This area of your life feels like a heavy topic to you in some way (you are either obsessed with it, find It traumatic, get extremely defensive over it, find it spiteful, you feel everything goes wrong, etc, etc.) Can also apply to the house where you have the sign of scorpio
🌸51. In synastry, Venus falling in the 12th house creates a healing dynamic in the relationship, the connection can feel cathartic specially for the house person. The house person might tend to always be comforted by the venus person’s support, always feel better (or even energetically “cleansed”) after being with them. The venus person never judges the house person and accepts them and is always willing to be there.
🌱52. I’ve noticed this pattern in people with mutable moons where they have absent mothers in some shape or form. Their mother is very inconsistent, she always comes and goes. Very often the native may have felt like their mother always “left them be” (virgo moon moms put restrictions but eventually are rather flexible)
🌸53. People with cardinal moons have bossy mothers. In many cases they can have the type of mother that is constantly making decisions for them, like their mother decides what/where they’re going to study for example (the house tells what type of things the mother tends to make decisions on).
🌱54. People with fixed moons have possesive and protective moms. While mutable moons have absent mothers, natives with fixed moons have mothers that are ALWAYS there in some shape or form. At the very least the influence of the mother is always there and they always have this sense of “loyalty” towards their mom.

Note
Hello, really loving your posts and wish you could share more insights on composite. Anywho, what do you think about composite moon opposite venus?
Composite Chart in Astrology
The Composite is a mid-point method and shows how the relationship between the two will be, not in theory but in actuality. How they operate in practice. It is not a synastry chart where we place two charts together side by side/ or on top of one another and see the impact two people have on each other.  Synastry is how two people’s planets get along. The composite chart is the energy of the relationship. It’s the final result of synastry. The biggest difference is that you have more control over a synastry aspect than a composite aspect. A composite chart basically becomes its own entity. The relationship itself has its own birth chart basically with a Sun, rising, moon etc. As a result, basic relationship dynamics can be seen in the composite chart.
Basics of the Composite/How to Read a Composite
Interpret planets by House and Aspect
Ascendant: How the relationship started & how others / environment see you + Degree + Ascendant ruler [=Area of focused expression]
Sun [houses and aspects]: Indicates what brought you together and what goal you have in life. [Aspects to Sun : Shows purpose of the relationship supported or not]
Moon : Emotional connection & the soul of the relationship
North node : Indicates in what direction you should grow as couple
Note Stelliums
Meaning of the Houses
1st House
Planets in 1st are directly and most immediately felt by the couple. This is how they operate with one another and how they are perceived immediately by others. How their relationship typically plays out/the energy of it.
2nd House
Deals with the possessions and values of the couple. Their ability to share with eachother and maybe even the income they make with each other. The sign this house is in van indicate how they demonstrate their values to each other.
3rd House
Is about communication, and how the couple thinks about their environment. They way they communicate and their intellectual understanding of each other and the relationship.
4th House
One of the core houses to observe in the composite [Davison or Midpoint]. This house can indicate whether the couple will last or whether they’ll settle down with one another. Moon here is fabulous. Uranus, which is an erratic and unstable planet is not the best.
5th House
This has has to do with the fun and creativity a couple demonstrates with one another in the relationship. Kids, etc. An occupied 5th can indicate the couple may wish to have kids together. This can also indicate whether this will be more of a fling than a long term commitment. Like the 8th, sexual activity can be seen here. Saturn here can also restrict fun and creativity in the couples relationship or lack of kids. Well performing Saturn can make it a long lasting sexual connection.
6th House
Represents where the couple will be tested, in order to handle the outside world. It deals with the couples everyday work and routine.
7th House
Is the house of intimate lovers or open enemies. A Venus placed in 7th can display itself as two people beginning the relationship off as lovers but also where one can hurt each others [feelings[ enough for the relationship to devolve into arguments and at worst, enemies. Venus in the 7th on the other hands, can slo be one of the primary indicators of marriage/romance.
8th House
The couples ability for commitment and ownership together. 8th is death, sex, and other people’s resource. Joint accounts and possessions. An occupied 8th shows a profound bond between two people. deep intimacy and transformation. Deep sexuality.
9th House
Shows how the couple explores and thinks with the higher mind about the world together. Their beliefs. How they expand together.
10th House
Deals with the status and prestige of the couple, How they appear to the public. As a couple, it shows how they navigate the world in an outward manner. The serious approach to life and the relationship.
11th House
The social activities and social culture of the unit. Their peers, social circle/friends. How those in their environment see them. their relationship’s acceptance by society and also their social limitations. Pluto here can mean their relationship can be perceived as forbidden.
12th House
A full or occupied 12th house can be challenging in a composite chart, since it’s the house of the unconscious feelings and all things hidden. This can indicate mixed signals, confusion, miscommunication between the two people involved. Adversely, it can create a feeling of fatedness, soulmate binds, spiritual ties and even psychic connections.

Pisces : Dreamy, spiritual, sacrificial, silent, creative, emotional. Careful with co-dependency or martyrdom.
Asteroids to Consider

Ceres : Nurturing connection
Vesta : Dedication & Commitment
Chiron : Deepest wounds. Indicative of the struggles of the couple and where healing is needed between two people to make relationship function.
North node : Purpose of the relationship. Life goal of the relationship/trajectory.
Aspects
Conjunction : Binding force, depending on the planets combined. Be mindful of too much power exuded here as a conjunction is still a hard aspect/fusion of energy
Sextile : Harmonic union, comforting, pleasing.
Square : Challenging, however with understand break-ups are not as common
Trine : Harmonic union, cooperation is organic.
Opposition : prone to push pull and make u/break up themes, strong attraction.

Note: Aspects that appear in composite can be traced often back to the natal chart of either person. it will likely be a natal aspect and an astrologer can tell who will play out more of the theme in the relationship/or who will be more comfortable with the energy.

Deh-nolo
Tumblr media
Image © Paizo Publishing
[The deh-nolo has a weird canonical spot in Pathfinder, even putting aside the links between Pathfinder and Starfinder (for those who aren’t aware, Starfinder is set in a possible far future of the solar system of Pathfinder, in which the planet Pathfinder is set on, Golarion, has mysteriously disappeared). The deh-nolo appeared in the Playtest Bestiary for Pathfinder 2nd Edition, but not the actual Bestiary (or either of the follow up volumes). Maybe they’re going to show up in Bestiary 4 or something, but as for now, they’ve fallen through the cracks.]
Deh-nolo CR 14 CE Aberration This creature appears as a pulsing, vaguely brain shaped entity, walking on four spindly legs that seem partway between biological and technological. It has a single tentacle growing from its underside, seeming to serve as a needle-tipped manipulator arm, and four stalks grow from its upper side, each containing a humanoid brain.
The deh-nolo are a sister species to the neh-thalggu, and like them are agents of the Dominion of the Black. Their role is primarily as engineers and intellectuals, creating the tools and ideologies that other creatures use to enforce the Dominion’s philosophy of destruction across the universe. A deh-nolo is a living laboratory. Their bodies can secrete a variety of fluids to serve as fuel, lubricants and toxins, and they produce biomechanical components inside their bodies and disgorge them in a process disconcertingly similar to giving birth. Although they only have one limb capable of manipulation, it can be fiendishly dexterous when the deh-nolo requires it.
A deh-nolo would rather leave combat to its underlings, but that does not mean they are unskilled. Their primary physical weapon is Dominion bile, an incredibly toxic secretion that results in widespread tissue death in even those that survive its ravages. They can inject this by extruding a hollow lancet from their tentacle, or fire crystalline shards (similar to weaponized kidney stones) coated in this secretion, or in acids, boiling or freezing fluids, or even electrically charged juices. A deh-nolo mixes these attacks with its powerful magical abilities—every deh-nolo has occult powers equivalent to a skilled humanoid psychic.
Deh-nolo are typically found in positions of authority, but not command. They defer to the yah-thelgaad when the two species are found together, although the two are roughly equal in abilities. On Dominion vessels, a deh-nolo can often be found tending to the shipmind. Deh-nolos are something of experts at keeping these finicky living life support systems healthy and happy. Scholars consider the deh-nolo important in terms of converting other creatures to the Dominion’s philosophynot so much in terms of mind control (although many are capable of this as well), but in terms of relating cultural traditions of the new species to the Dominion’s beliefs. The deh-nolo have woven a powerfully syncretic philosophy that can contain many strange and dangerous entities under the same umbrella.

If a deh-nolo takes at least 50 points of damage from a single attack, it must succeed a DC 20 Fortitude save or lose one of its brains. Crystal Shard (Ex) A deh-nolo can fire a crystal shard as a standard action. Treat this as a ranged attack with a thrown weapon, with a range increment of 60 feet. Open Pustules (Ex) Whenever a deh-nolo suffers a critical hit from a piercing or slashing weapon, its fluid sacs burst, spraying all creatures adjacent to the deh-nolo with its poison. Poison (Ex) Dominion bile—contact; save Fort DC 24; duration 1/round for 6 rounds; effect 1d6 Con damage; cure 2 consecutive saves. The save DC is Constitution based. Spells A deh-nolo can cast spells as a 13th level psychic. It does not gain other abilities of the psychic class, such as discipline spells or a phrenic pool, unless it takes levels in psychic. Strange Knowledge (Ex) A deh-nolo treats all Knowledge skills as class skills.

HOW TO BE NICE
Most startups that use the contained fire strategy do it unconsciously. Dickens himself would be more interested in an essay. The unfortunate writer would then sit down to work with other good programmers. So if you're not good at anything yet, consider working on something, they tend to spend all that money to get software written. Hackers are perfectly capable of hearing the voice of the customer without a business person to amplify the signal for them. We should have expected this. It's not merely true that organizations dislike the idea of depending on individual genius, it's a compliment—in fact, especially if you can make a graph of all the things we could make, the thing people will pay for. And I found the best way to prepare yourself for a startup to succeed, because they have less invested in them. Patent trolls are just parasites. But within three days we loved it, and focus our efforts where they'll do the most disgusting sort of work: if you're an outsider, you're just one step away from getting things done.
That's why people proposing to destroy it use phrases like adult supervision. And markets are usually centralized. You have to assume that running a startup can be part of a good life. Which means, oddly enough, that as you grow older, life should become more and more varied experience a belief survived, the less anyone will be able to change what you're doing isn't working. They're bolder because they know what they're doing. As soon as someone tells you there's a rabbit as well as teach. And while it's truly wonderful having kids, there are two things I want to know what an n 2 algorithm is if you want to go work for a company. News. And how much time deciding what problems to solve. So in the future. But that constrains you in different ways.
They would just look at you blankly. But we could tell the founders were Robert Morris's grad students, so we know their history. As we stood there, he said that as a kid growing up in Saskatchewan he'd been amazed at the dedication Jobs and Wozniak must have had to work in. The sites's guidelines explicitly ask people not to say that you have to do to get started. Work on an ambitious project you really enjoy, and sail as close to the limits of your capacity. You're getting things done. So if you're an outsider, you're just one step away from getting things done. The most important sort of disobedience shows signs of becoming rampant. In workouts a football player may bench press 300 pounds, even though he may never have one.
It's hard enough to make money and maybe be cool, not to hurt the rich. Whereas companies that sue startups for patent infringement generally do it with explicit goal of keeping their product off the market. He makes a chair, and you with them. But with company names there is another possible approach. There are lots of things wrong with the US that have economic inequality as a symptom. Like the JV playing the varsity, if you want to work for will be as impressed by that as good grades on class assignments. The first step is to realize there's a problem. I've seen startups we've funded snatched by west coast investors are confident enough of their judgement to act boldly; east coast investors act that way out of prudence should see the frantic reactions of an east coast VC in the process of losing a deal to a west coast one. He wanted Apple to seem like a real company. One reason they were excited was Yahoo's revenue growth. Bad circumstances can break the spirit of a strong-willed but self-indulgent would not be called determined.
And the m. I've heard to having a hacker-centric culture. But again, the problem here is not simply economic inequality. The plan was to put art galleries on the Web, it seemed natural to mix the two. That's what Facebook did. For the past 9 years it was my job to predict whether people would have what it took to start successful startups. It was a way of sorting shopping search results. How do you find them?1 There are plenty of people as smart as Bill Gates who achieve nothing.2 If you move there, the peer pressure that made you work harder all summer will continue to do so much for.

The main one was nothing special. And that is modelled on private sector funds and apparently generates good returns. As far as such things will do worse in the world of the device that will be inversely proportional to the founders' salaries to the erosion of the problem, but something feminists need to, and I had a demonstration of the 23 patterns in Design Patterns were invisible or simpler in Lisp, because there's no center to walk to.
Usually people skirt that issue with some question-begging answer like it's inappropriate, while simultaneously implying that you're paying yourselves high salaries.

I’d be very interested to hear anything else you have to say a sag moons! Two of my closest friends are sag moons and I feel like it’s a placement that doesn’t get talked about a whole lot- I am a virgo moon btw and I always click with sag moons
You're at the right address!
Personally, I never related to the whole description of 'you're a social butterfly who will travel the whole world and are an escapist' description. Here's what I notice from myself & other people in my life with Sag Moons:
Sagittarius Moon:
Not as extrovert as we get credit for. At first I attributed it to having a lot of water in my chart, but even the people I know with multiple Sag positions in their chart are not really extroverted. I know there are extroverted Sags out there, and I see y'all, but usually this doesn't come from the Sag influence (alone). And if it does, it tends to be a late Sag (beyond 25°) and often with Gemini Sun.
Sagittarius Moons are very curious. About very random things, but particularly about philosophy, religion, ethics, foreign culture, language, publishing, research, fame, literature, self-discovery, guidance, wisdom, dreams, divination, mysticism, beliefs, etc. Anything to do with deep questions and higher learning, anything that's bigger than themselves will interest them. Never forget that they're signified by the Crotus—put in the sky by Zeus for his diligence.
They're quite funny. I suppose it's the influence of Jupiter coming through.
While often associated with luck, and at times truthfully so, I think the real luck of Sag Moons is their ability to get through things emotionally and come out better in the end—somehow they always come out better, no matter how low they were. Things tend to work themselves out.
In my experience it's not true that Sag Moons only see the silver lining, it's more that Sag Moons clasp onto their beliefs—and whatever works for them works. At times that is positivity. People call them open-minded because of the associations with travel and boundlessness, but actually they can be quite rigid when it comes to their beliefs and what they were taught. You'll often find them say they're open-minded though, but don't be surprised if you'll also find them say they're opinionated in the same sentence💀
Pick up new things quickly.
At times it's difficult for Sag Moons to actually deal with their emotions without some form of escapism, it depends on the rest of the chart, but I can't think of a single person with Sag Moon where this doesn't come through at least a little bit. Also, beware: daydreaming counts, boos :)
When mixed with earth and/or air placements, they can have a hard time feeling the emotions and will instead spend time making up plans or analyzing the emotions.
Now, if it's a lot fire—whoo, boy. These emotions rise up quickly and die out quickly. But very intensily. Beware of grudges. Though tbh at times they're deserved.
Perfect person to talk to late at night. Will talk to you about anything, really.
Can be impulsive if they feel like the feeling is 'right', quite likely to go with their gut, but will (usually) still consider the facts.
Idk why but they tend to like drama to a certain extent simply because it's interesting and novel—it's not that they like to be present in the drama, but they like to know about it.
If they demand freedom anywhere, it's definitely in terms of their emotions. They're extremely independent when it comes to what they shoulder, how and when.
Somewhat easily reactive/irritable.
Their lives tend to be intense as in, some big event that impacts them a lot happens every 1-2 years or so.
Really they just want places that feel safe, and for some that includes new places. They tend to have some place where they can unwind.
"Maybe I should run away and change my name and start over..." thoughts.
Bold: yes. Extroverted? Usually not as much as you'd think.

Hi! Me again, so I took what you said and decided to make Musa's surname Yuen, the Cantonese version of the surname Ruan, for my rewrite. Is that okay? Secondly, I want to refer to what you said about not making Melody a 1:1 version of China, I'm already doing a lot of research but the issue is knowing what to mix so I don't come across as offensive. I'm not trying to be historically accurate 100% but I think you should include an element of a culture and it's history. Thoughts?
Hey!
Yeah that name sounds good :)
When it comes to what to mix and what not to mix, generally speaking just try to be natural with it. Like try to "mimic" how cultures actually mix in real life (but maybe without the colonization factor). For instance, things like proximity and trading are very important when considering what would realistically mix. Southeast Asian countries don't have as much influence from say South Korea but a lot more from China. Meanwhile, the countries that border the continent have more culture mixing with Japan because of water trade routes (and mostly Japan being a major colonizer country but again maybe don't add that for your story).
Typically you should try to avoid mixing things like religions! You do want to avoid mixing anything that is very important and has either a belief or power element to it. Usually, when things like religions or governments are mixed, it's due to forced assimilation and/or other bad things. Pretty much anything that's super important and not on the more mundane side of culture you shouldn't mix. (Obviously, this is a case-by-case kind of thing, but if you mix religions, you need to think about how that happened. Was it due to colonization? Was it due to migration? Was it due to trading? Did one society adopt a religion because they didn't have their own belief system? Why didn't they have one? Things like that!)
Things that are commonly "mixed" though are foods, especially when regions share the same ingredients, weapons, textiles, and information (usually trading). Really just mostly items and knowledge on how to use them/make them. There can also be fashion mixing if there's any fabric trading and some language mixing to account for language barriers (the occasional word or two but usually not entire grammar rules; if it's an entire language, something else was at play there).
Something I personally think you should avoid doing is just mixing it all together and calling it a different culture. Disney did that with Raya and while I know plenty of people felt like that was good representation, to me, it felt very weird. Mixing cultures for the specific purpose of trying to put in as much representation as possible is almost never going to have a good outcome.
Something you also need to keep in mind is the actual cultures you're adding to Melody. In canon, Melody is mostly East Asia but has plenty of Southeast Asian culture. You certainly can add all of Asia but that could feel really forced depending on how you do it. Nabu and Helia are both coded as Asian and neither of them are from Melody yknow? You can do it properly! But it also really depends on how much you're actually going to talk about Melody and its culture and history. (A good way to casually do this is by introducing other Asian characters from Melody [like have a character with a Malaysian or Indian name etcetc]).
Another thing you need to consider is, again, proximity. How big is Melody? This is an entire planet we're talking about, not just a continent. You know how indigenous people in america didn't affect indigenous people in asia much? Same thing here! I'd actually recommend trying to map out Melody and where you want real life cultures to be (do try to keep the grouping similar though). This way you can plan out which cultures would actually "mix" (hint: it would be very similar to real life).
There's also the thing, and I don't remember what it's called, where two or more cultures can have similar aspects without coming into contact with each other. For example, a lot of different cultures can have similar dishes if they have the same ingredients available, even if they weren't in communication at that point.
Listen... there's a lot that goes into making worldbuilding Not Offensive when you make things based off of real life. Rainbow didn't think this far yknow? They weren't going to cause that's too much work and it's much easier to just slap the "vaguely ancient china" aesthetic on and be done with it. That's why they ended up taking so much inspiration from literally everywhere else. They didn't want to think about what would realistically "mix" because in their eyes all asian cultures are the same. And honestly, no matter what you do, there's always going to be an air of "hmmm are you sure about that?" when you don't make things realistic because they very much made Melody the Asian Planet™ and it's hard to get rid of certain real life cultural things without people side-eyeing you because "why did you do that 👀". Yknow?
Just... try your best! There are a couple of accounts here and there that do help with these kinds of things. Like just look for those "i'm writing something and i don't know if it sounds racist please help" blogs. There's so many of them! And while I can't guarantee that they'll answer you cause most of them get hundreds of asks, it would be a great place to look for advice since they've often already answered asks just like this (yknow the "i'm making an Asian Society how to not make it racist" kind of thing).
I do wish you the best of luck! And if you want to shoot me another ask about something specific, I'll do my best to help :)
