thanksgiving with jason todd, except you are the one getting stuffed ꒰ᐢ. .ᐢ꒱₊˚⊹

it was thanksgiving time, and though jason wasn’t a big fan of having your whole family come together as he was a selfish bastard who wanted to keep you all to himself. “come on, it’ll be so fun,” you beamed, trying to keep the energy high. though, clearly jason wasn’t looking forward to it with a permanent frown plastered on his face. you rolled your eyes, grabbing his hands, “come on, we get to talk and catch up with family and also eat great food,” you nudged him playfully, his frown only making you grin even more.
he snaked his strong arms around you, “there’s only one meal i want,”he grinned mischievously , kissing your neck. you playfully swatted him, “don’t, the guests will be here in just over an hour.” you narrowed your eyes as a warning, though the blush on your cheeks said otherwise. his grip around your waist tightened, pulling you back into his muscular chest. “come on, you need to relax from all your cooking,” he snuggled deeper into your neck. “you could help me relax by helping me clean up,” you grumbled as you pushed away from his embrace to wipe the countertop.
“i’ll be quick, i promise” he whispered into your ear, nibbling it. “can help you by fucking that pretty little pussy of yours yeah?” he grinned, you couldn’t even protest at that, because you’ve been working so hard on preparing this thanksgiving dinner making it perfect, and jason working to get his mind off seeing family meant no sex for two weeks. whilst it sounded like a normal amount of time, it really wasn’t for you two, whilst he worked in the garage for long hours, you had your fingers shoved up your cunt pretending it was his. even dry humping his pillow with his scent.
“better be quick,” you glared, though the smile on your face said otherwise. jason and lifted you on the countertop, bending you over it. “wait, not the countertop we would need to cle-“ a harsh smack on your ass stoped you mid sentence, “i told you i’ll make it quick, stop worrying and let me fuck you like a slut.”
you couldn’t help but to shiver when you felt him pushing up your dress where it laid like a bundle of mess around your stomach. he then pushed your tiny thong to the side, not wasting a second as he slipped a finger inside. “fuck, you are already soaked,” you didn’t even need to turn to see the wicked grin he had on his face, god his tone was already smug enough. “you were so against this, but yet you are soaked, maybe i should just let you be hm?” his fingers pulled away from your tight cunt and, you whined shaking your head. “p-please jay,” you pouted.
he let out a low chuckle, before shoving his thick fingers back in, knuckles keep, bullying your tight cunt. “already dripping hm?” he cooed, his thumb finding your clit and rubbing it harshly. “n-need you jay,” you whimpered, you didn’t need his fingers or tongue. you needed his dick. “i know baby,“ he groaned, you could hear him unbuckling his belt, however you didn’t hear it drop to the floor. instead jason flipped you over, your back on the counter whilst he pushed your knees up to your chest, after shoving your dress above your tits. you mentally thanked yourself for picking a dress that was thin.
“would you let me tie you up baby?” you nodded eagerly, you felt him tie your wrists above your head, the belt not letting you budge. jason had ripped your thong, before shoving it into your mouth, tasting your own arousal. he fisted his own cock, it’s tip slightly pink and already leaking with precum. you whined wiggling your body on the counter top, “patience,” he grumbled smacking his fat cock on your pussy.
he didn’t even waste a minute before shoving it in you, the sheer size making your eyes tear up. his thrusts were deep, his large hands squeezing where he was. “you feel me there baby? you take me so well and deep,” he groaned. it wasn’t long before a white thick ring was formed on the base of his cock, “how about i stuff you up round with my kids?”
“bet you would like that with how much you love family events,” his grip almost bruising. you nodded eagerly, god you always wanted to start a family with him and being fucked dumb didn’t help. “p-please jay,” you whined. with your hands tied above you, you had no choice but you just let him take you, without having any grip on him. “fill me up,” you plead.
his grunts filled the room, you were getting closer and closer to your edge. “c-close” you mumbled, your breaths ragged and unsteady. “you know one thing i’m grateful for?” he whispered, “how well your pussy takes me, it doesn’t matter when, what time it is, she’s always so welcoming.”
“what are you grateful for sweet thing?” he asked, wiping the hair that was stuck to your forehead. “m-mph” whined, you couldn’t even think let alone think what you were grateful for. “come on, say something. i’m sure a girl as prim and proper as you wouldn’t be an ungrateful brat.”
you couldn’t form words, as a result you babbled a response. he shook his head in response, “no. only good girls get to come, and good girls will tell me what they are grateful for in a sentence.” you rolled your eyes at that comment. “y-you,” you mumbled, “i-i’m grateful for you jay,” you were so close, so so close but you knew jason could take it away from you in just a second.
“there we go, wasn’t that hard hm?” he teased, before finally letting you come. god you squeezed him so hard he also came with you, filling you up just how you wanted. “all relaxed now hm?” he grinned seeing your post orgasm glow, gently he unwrapped your wrists from the belt, and putting you upright on the counter. “can’t wait to see this little belly all round plump,” he grinned squeezing the soft flesh. you were limp, completely fucked dumb and the only response you could give was a dumb fucked smile.

“Fuck!” you exclaimed under your breath, elevator doors closing in front of you. You pressed the button to your floor and impatiently waited for the elevator to take you to your residence. As soon as the doors opened, you ripped your mask off and stormed down the hallway.
You passed the main living room, furnished with two leather chairs facing a large screen and a table with a half drunk glass of whiskey on it. Another mask like yours laid neatly on the table next to the glass. You hurled yours across the room in a fit of rage.
Storming into the nearby kitchen, you saw In-ho pouring a glass of your favorite wine.
“I hope that’s for me,” you sighed as you approached In-ho.
He gave you a sympathetic look and handed you the glass. “I heard what happened.”
You finished the glass off in a few seconds, slamming it down on the counter. In-ho approached your hunched over figure but you stood straight again, pointing at him.
“I could kill them all. Every last one of them,” you seethed.
He knew exactly who you were talking about, and gave you a soft, pitying look. “I know, I know you could. You’d be really good at it too.” He caressed your cheek as he praised you, a playful smirk flashing across his face for a moment.
You huffed, rolling your eyes but softening at his affection. “I’m fucking serious. I’m done with these pretentious assholes.”
Before you joined In-ho in your shared residence that evening, you’d spent your entire day with the VIPs. Handling impossible requests and battling egos was the most insufferable part of your job. You’d run around so much that day trying to appease every demand that you could’ve probably traversed every inch of the island in the same amount of time.
In-ho spent the day in Seoul, working with the recruiter to find the next batch of players, and was therefore spared from dealing with the VIPs. Your muscles ached with fatigue and jealousy.
In-ho embraced you, stroking your hair. “I know. I’m sorry. I’ll make sure you don’t see them for a while, alright?” You sighed heavily in response, resting your head on his shoulder and wrapping your arms around his warm torso.
He smiled as you melted into his touch. “My poor darling. Let me make you feel better.”
He swiftly picked you up and carried you to one of the leather chairs in the main room, setting you down gently in front of him. Before you could register what was happening, his lips were on yours, distracting you from the tension that wracked your body and mind.
In-ho leaned over you, pressing your back to the chair. You gently pulled away. “In-ho, I-”
He gently pressed a finger over your mouth, caressing your cheek. “Shh, just let me take care of you now, alright?”
You sighed as he dipped his head down to kiss your neck, your skin becoming flushed and warm. He brought a hand down your side, gently starting to coax your shirt upwards.
You knew exactly what he was after - you’d done this for him more times than you could count. The job you two held was a difficult one, and you had no problem being an outlet of stress relief for each other.
He brought his hands to your pants, carefully undoing the buttons and lowering the zipper, before slowly dipping his hand into your underwear. He released himself from your neck and looked at you, gauging your reactions.
You leaned forward and kissed him hard as his hand dipped into your warm core, soaking his fingers as he explored you. He groaned at the warm wetness on his fingers. You sighed, desperate for more, but a confused feeling of embarrassment was starting to cloud your lustful thoughts.
He brought his hand from your core to his mouth, obscenely tasting your juices on his fingers. He groaned, a sound that would’ve normally made you feral but instead made you feel vulnerable. You felt your breath catch in your throat, unsure of how to react.
He roughly grasped the waist of your pants and began pulling them down before you grabbed his hand to stop them. He immediately looked at you with concern.
Your face flushed red with embarrassment. “I… I’m, uh…”
“Do you want me to stop?”
“No, no, not that, I just… I…” You internally slapped yourself for sounding so stupid.
He playfully smirked at you. “You know I’ve seen it, right? There’s no need to be so bashful.”
You scoffed. Of course you’d known that. You’d had sex with him many times before, that was nothing new. But having his fingers on you, and the thought of having his face down there, made you more self-conscious than you knew how to deal with. In the past, you’d redirect his attention elsewhere quickly to avoid dealing with the imaginary shame you might feel.
And that’s exactly what you planned to do now.
“I know… I’m just too tense right now. I’m sorry.” You started pulling your pants back up, looking down in guilt.
He quickly tilted your face towards him, giving you a concerned look and caressing your face. “It’s alright, darling. You don’t have to be sorry.” He placed a gentle kiss on your forehead. “Do you want to take a hot bath?”
“Yes."
~~~
After taking your relaxing hot bath and washing the day’s stress away, you climbed into your shared bed with In-ho. You already felt a million times better. In-ho was immersed in a book he was reading, but wrapped his arm around you when you climbed into bed next to him.
“Are you feeling better?”
You gave him a happy, dazed smile. “Very much so.”
He smiled and placed a kiss on your forehead, diverting his attention back to his book. You grabbed the one you were currently reading and began to do the same next to him.
After a short while of getting comfortable in bed, your thoughts began to wander as you read. You thought about In-ho touching you before, how good it felt and sounded to you. The overwhelming embarrassment and anxiety you felt at the time was now closer to a distant memory. You felt much more comfortable in your body, more intrigued than embarrassed about the thought of In-ho’s mouth on you.
You felt the familiar flush in your skin again and set your book down. Warmth was spreading throughout your body but you weren’t sure how to express what you wanted, so you snuggled up to In-ho, resting your arm on his chest.
He glanced at you as he read. “Getting tired?”
“No, you’re just so warm.” A believable lie.
He smiled and continued to read, oblivious to the dirty thoughts starting to cloud your mind. You wanted him bad. How was he not able to read your mind and know exactly what you wanted at that moment? You glanced at him quickly and started playing with the hem of his shirt, hoping he’d get some sort of hint from your mixed signals.
In-ho eyed your hands on his shirt and set his book down. “What are you thinking about, darling?” He had a naughty glint in his eye, suspecting he knew what you might be after.
At the first glance from him, your newfound confidence faltered. “Nothing. Just laying here with you.” You feigned innocence - but he knew better.
He turned his body towards you, your hand unintentionally slipping underneath his shirt. “Nothing at all?”
“Nope. Nothing.” You began to gently caress his warm skin, avoiding eye contact.
He gently sighed at your touch. “Hm. You don’t want anything?”
You gave him a pleading look but couldn’t bring yourself to say anything except for a quiet hum.
He leaned forward to kiss you, gently, before slightly pulling back, testing how much you wanted. You quickly leaned forward to return his kiss, deeper and more needy, twisting the hem of his shirt in your hands.
He sighed and pushed you on your back, slightly hovering over you as he deepened the kiss even further. After a few moments, he pulled back, observing your beautifully flushed face.
“Do you want me to make you feel better? Like before?”
Your breath hitched again, and all you could muster was a small nod, silently begging for his lips to be on yours again.
He crashed his lips into yours, kissing you more fervently now, and positioned himself completely above you. Your fingers found their way into his hair, gently tugging, eliciting delicious, soft moans from his throat. It drove you insane.
You wanted so badly for him to feel good, for him to enjoy every second with you, it was hard to understand how he’d want to solely focus on you and your pleasure. You know he’d do anything for you… but your own self-doubt clouded your mind in these moments.
As if he knew what you were thinking, In-ho pulled away and looked at you with a fierce intention.
“You have no idea how long I’ve wanted to taste you.”
Your heart skipped a beat. “But… you have before.”
“Not like this. Not like I’ve wanted to. Not like you deserve.”
He gently rubbed your cheek, hoping you could feel the sincerity in his words. It felt like your heart was in your throat, you could barely express how he made you feel in that moment. Your eyebrows furrowed and you leaned towards him for a harsh, needy kiss before guiding his hand to your underwear.
Without any pants on, he swiftly pulled your underwear down, leaning back in front of your raised knees as he pulled the blanket off. He placed his hands on your legs to spread them, but the sudden exposure made you feel vulnerable and hesitant for a moment, and you froze.
You let out a pitiful moan, your body conflicted on what to do. In-ho gently caressed your legs and leaned forward, giving you a sweet kiss.
“Let me make you feel better.” He echoed from before.
You silently nodded and spread your legs, and In-ho quickly settled his head in between them. He gently kissed around your inner thigh, taking his time on each side, intentionally avoiding your wet, aching core. Although you couldn’t ignore the involuntary waves of self-consciousness, you focused on the anticipation rising throughout your body, your need for his mouth to be on you.
In-ho’s mouth hovered over your core, the sensation of his hot breath on you driving you crazy. You squirmed beneath him as he placed a firm arm over your stomach.
“Tell me if it’s too much,” he instructed. He paused for a moment, as if waiting for your permission.
The moment you looked down at him, he placed his mouth on you, his tongue flat on your core, gently sucking.
The sudden wave of pleasure immediately wracked your body. You threw your head back with a surprised moan, your hands instantly grabbing at the sheets.
In-ho groaned loudly in satisfaction, as if he’d been hungry for you his whole life and just now, finally, got a taste. You felt his groan through your sensitive clit, making your hips twitch under his movements. He continued to work his tongue over your clit and your aching entrance, tasting every inch of you, relishing in your gasps and moans.
You felt possessed, unable to control your sounds and movements as he all but consumed you. His hands grasped at your sides, your thighs, anything he could get his hands on. You felt yourself relax into this position and spread your legs further, wanting more and more of him.
He kept his mouth on you as he splayed his hands on the back of your thighs, pressing them down, following your lead and spreading you out even further for him. You looked down again at him ravenously devouring you, the sight of it almost undoing you.
You cried out in pleasure, starting to twitch and grind beneath him, feeling like your release could come at any moment now. You’d never felt like it had been this easy before. In-ho briefly stopped to look at you, a slight, satisfied grin on his face.
“You’re doing so well. Do you feel good, darling?”
You let out a soft cry. “Yes.” You gave him a needy, pleading look.
“Are you gonna cum for me?”
The thought of it made you clench, you could barely make out words. “Mhm.”
His head was spinning with those obscene sounds you were making. “Good. I want you to cum on my face, okay?”
You cried out in pleasure and frustration, and pushed his head back on you, gripping his hair for dear life. He groaned at your unrelenting neediness, just egging you on even further to the edge.
You felt your body chasing release, pressing In-ho’s face to your aching cunt, grinding beneath him, using him solely for your pleasure. His incessant moans seemed to vibrate throughout your entire being, setting your skin on fire, bringing tears to your eyes.
With a few more swipes of his tongue, you came absolutely undone beneath him.
You felt a white hot wave of pleasure explode from your core, your muscles involuntarily shaking, and you cried out in pleasure and pure emotional release. Tears flowed down your face as you allowed the pleasure to take over, allowed yourself to feel good. In-ho diligently kept his mouth on you as you rode out your orgasm.
As you slowly came to consciousness, In-ho leaned back and watched you, all of you. You wiped the tears from your eyes and watched him in a daze. He was completely enamored by you, his hands wandering from your thighs to your core, spreading his fingers over your sensitive clit and your aching entrance.
You suddenly felt… empty. Quietly whimpering, you grabbed his wrist, keeping his fingers on you, silently begging for more. He gave you a bewildered look.
“Did that feel good?”
You nodded, unable to speak. You pressed his fingers further towards your entrance.
His eyes darkened. “Hm. Do you want more, darling?”
You nodded again. Even though you felt spent from your orgasm, you couldn’t deny the aching need to feel him inside you.
“So needy, hm? You can’t get enough, is that right? Need something to fill you up too?”
You looked away and groaned, a mixture of embarrassment and desire swirling in your mind.
“Please,” you whispered.
In-ho slowly moved to hover over you, gently turning your head towards him.
“Tell me what you want.”
You whimpered, kissing him and reaching for the prominent bulge in his underwear. You could feel his cock straining against the fabric. In-ho groaned above you, his cock painfully aching to feel you.
He let out a harsh breath through his teeth. “Fuck… do you feel what you’ve done to me?”
You continued to massage him, feel him twitch under your fingers, his moans becoming more reckless every second. You felt all your senses go on edge again, responding to every single sound he made. He quickly swatted your hand away and pulled his underwear down.
“If you keep doing that I won’t last much longer,” he breathed out, his voice hoarse and primal. He quickly lined his cock with your entrance and thrusted into you, your hips meeting his thrust and your warmth enveloping him completely.
He stopped for a second, too overwhelmed to move. You were so deliciously warm, your flesh so sensitive from before. The feeling of his cock stretching you made a wave of pleasure sink into your body and you couldn’t help but let out a feral moan.
In-ho leaned himself further over you, pressing your legs up, and began to pound into you relentlessly. You grabbed at his arms and shoulders, any part of him you could hold onto as he fucked you through the bed. He was relentless in his movements, completely focused on the pleasure building between the two of you.
He roughly grabbed your jaw. “Fuck… I could’ve come undone just watching you before.”
You cried out beneath him, clenching on his cock as he fucked you with a determined pace.
He continued. “That pretty fucking pussy, clenching and gushing just for me… you loved it, didn’t you?”
You moaned and nodded.
“That’s right,” he huffed. “My pretty fucking girl loves to cum on my face, doesn’t she?”
His words send shockwaves throughout your body, and you could only cry out and continue nodding.
He pressed his forehead to yours, his pace quickening. You could tell he was close.
“Fuck. And you’re gonna cum on my cock now, aren’t you?”
You squeezed your eyes. “Yes, fuck, yes I’m going to right now I-”
You felt the familiar wave of pleasure crash over your entire body again, your walls clenching on In-ho’s cock as he stuttered in his pace. You cried out, feeling In-ho release himself inside of you with a loud, guttural groan. He thrusted into you slowly, chasing any remnants of pleasure for both of you as you both calmed down. You held each other close, heavy breaths slowing into satisfied sighs.
In-ho laid down next to you and pulled you to him, kissing the side of your face and brushing his fingers through your hair. Your entire body felt exhausted, but not like before.
In-ho leaned in to whisper in your ear. “Are you alright now?”
You sleepily nodded. “Yes. Very much so.”
He smiled, satisfied, and rested his head near yours. As he stroked your head, he whispered.
“You know I would do anything for you, right?”
You gave him a concerned look. “Of course.”
He looked at you fiercely. “So don’t be afraid to ask for what you want.”
You sighed, almost pouting. After a few moments, you nodded. “Okay.”
He smiled, pulling you close and the blanket over you two, both of you quickly falling into a satisfied slumber.
One Call Away
Sam and Dean Winchester & little sister!reader
Requested by Anonymous (x3)
Synopsis: based on 4x19, only the ghouls kidnap you instead of Sam
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I’m only one call away
I’ll be there to save the day
“Whatever’s hunting Adam, I’m gonna find it.”
“You already looked everywhere, Dean,” Sam argued.
“Well then I’ll look again,” Dean snapped before turning to leave.
“Wait.” Sam sighed. “Wait, I’ll…I’m gonna come with you.”
Dean’s eyes flashed from Sam to you. Sam seemed to read his mind.
“She can stay here with Adam. It’s safer, and she knows enough to show him how to secure the house.”
“Fine.”
You and Adam nailed down and salted every conceivable entrance into the house. You were just about to call your brothers when you heard a woman’s voice yelling from downstairs.
“Adam!”
“Mom?”
“Adam no—“ you tried to stop Adam, but he was already starting down the stairs after his mother’s voice. “Adam it’s not her!”
You reached the bottom of the stairs in time to see Adam embrace what looked like his mother, but had to be a monster.
“Adam that can’t be her!” You insisted, raising your gun. “There was too much blood, it can’t—“
Adam wrestled the gun out of your hands without hesitation, swinging it between you and his mother.
“It’s not human!” You cried.
A slow smirk appeared across “Adam’s” face.
“I know.”
The butt of the gun was the last thing you saw as the monster swung it at your head.
“Dean?” Your first instinct when you awoke to a pounding headache was to call out to your big brother. But you got no answer.
Superman got nothing on me
I’m only one call away
Call me, baby, if you need a friend
You tried to sit up, but straps across your ribs held you down tightly to an old wooden table that scratched against your back. You groaned as you tried to move your arms and legs with the same results; your legs were held by straps, and your wrists were stretched out to either end of the table and tied down with coarse rope.
An eerie humming invaded your senses as you slowly let your eyes open. The humming stopped as you moved around more.
“You’re a ghoul,” you mumbled. “That’s why the tests didn’t work.”
“Would’ve been a lot better for you if you’d figured it out earlier.” The woman who looked like Adam’s mother turned around to face you, wielding a large kitchen knife. “Or maybe it wouldn’t have. We’re good at catching our prey. Not that you were hard to catch.”
“My brothers—“ you cut yourself off in a cry of pain as the woman sliced into your forearm with a knife. You tried to ignore her as she licked at the wound, instead choosing to continue your threat. “My brothers are gonna kill you.”
“They won’t get here in time to save you, sweetie,” she taunted, licking her lips.
“Oh it’s gonna be fun killing you after what your daddy did to mine.” The ghoul that looked like Adam was suddenly at your other side, grinning at you as he lifted up one of your knives before slicing it across your wrist.
You’d really wanted to be stoic like your big brothers, but you couldn’t hold back the cry of pain while Adam put his knife down and placed a bucket under your wrist to catch the dropping blood.
“Oh she’s gonna be a whiny one,” the woman chuckled.
“A screamer, just like Adam,” the boy added. He leaned close to your ear to whisper, “He really was your brother, by the way.”
“My brothers will—“
“Ah yes, your brothers. The three of you are so inseparable, it was such a pain to get you alone.”
“Worth it though,” Ghoul Adam added, sticking the tip of his knife into your side and twisting it—just enough of a wound for him to dip his finger in. You cried out, trying to squirm away from him, but the straps held you tight.
“By the way, your brothers won’t be interrupting us,” the woman played with the tip of her knife while she spoke. “So we’re gonna feed on you nice and slow, like we did with Adam. We wanted to kill your daddy, but he was already dead. So you and your brothers will have to do instead.” She reached down, slicing another cut into your wrist—this one much deeper.
You couldn’t help it—you screamed, your arms thrashing in a fruitless attempt to escape the ropes and the knives.
“Hey, lie down and relax,” Ghoul Adam chided you. “We don’t want you bleeding out too fast.”
Reaching out to you, so take a chance
No matter where you go, know you’re not alone
“Hey!” Dean’s voice rang out through the room as he stormed in, gun raised.
“They—they’re ghouls!” You gasped, peering at your big brother through a foggy gaze.
“Headshot.” Sam’s voice came a second after the sound of a gunshot ripped through the air. The woman ghoul dropped to the ground, her head having been blown off by the close shot.
Dean was by your side in a second, but before he could untie you Ghoul Adam tackled him into the next room.
You whimpered as your hand twitched, spilling more of your blood into the bucket under you.
“De…Dean!” You cried out as he landed a blow to Adam’s head.
I’m only one call away
Dean turned to you, leaving Ghoul Adam open for Sam to take a headshot.
I’ll be there to save the day
“Hey kiddo.” Dean rushed to your side, making quick work of untying your wrists and the other straps, completely ignoring Sam shooting off the head of your half-brother’s look-alike in the next room.
Superman got nothing on me
“Up you go,” Dean coaxed, supporting your back as he pulled you into a sitting position.
Your head felt like it was completely drained of blood as you swayed, spots dancing across your vision.
“Whoa, hey—“ Sam appeared on your other side, stabilizing you while Dean grabbed two rags and pressed them against your cuts.
A strangled cry escaped you as you instinctively tried to pull away from Dean, but he held on tight.
“It’s ok, hold it there,” Dean ordered. “We gotta stop the bleeding.”
“I didn’t—I didn’t think you’d find me,” you whimpered. “They were gonna eat me—“
I’m only one call away
“Shh, hey it’s ok,” Sam soothed. “We’re right here.”
“I’m never gonna let anything happen to you,” Dean promised. “Now c’mon, we should go.” He pulled you off the table, but the second your feet hit the ground the spots returned and your knees gave out. Dean caught you before you could hit the floor, and Sam reached out and grabbed hold of your wrists to keep the rags tight.
“Dean—“ Sam cringed as his hands were immediately soaked with red. “She’s losing a lot of blood.”
“She’s ok.” Dean glared at Sam, before turning a softer gaze to you when your breath started to labor. “You’re ok, I promise.”
Dean carried you out to the Impala, where Sam sat with you in the back, holding tightly onto the rags wrapped around your wrists.
“The bleeding will stop,” he kept repeating. “And you’re gonna be just fine.”
Dean went back into the house to take care of the ghouls’ bodies while Sam stayed with you.
“It’s done,” Dean said when he returned. “How’s—“ he turned to the back seat, and Sam cut him off.
“Her heart rate is skyrocketing. De—” Sam almost never called his big brother De. And he almost never looked this scared. “She’s losing too much blood. She can’t be losing this much blood! She’s so little—“
“Calm down!” Dean snapped. Sam used to talk about you like that—how little and fragile you were—when you were just a baby, and he was scared you wouldn’t make it in such a dangerous world. Dean reached over the seat and grabbed your chin in his hand. “Sweetheart, talk to me,” he begged.
“What?” You blinked. Your whole body seemed to heave with the effort it took to breathe. “De, what…Sam what’s happening?”
“She’s delirious, I’m gonna need to stitch up these wounds to stop the bleeding.” Dean got out of the front seat and came to your door, propping it open and grabbing onto your hands. “Sam, you gotta keep her still, I don’t think she’s gonna understand what’s happening.”
Sam shifted, wrapping one arm around you while grabbing your forearm with his free hand, keeping you in place while Dean grabbed a needle and sterilized it.
“It’s ok, it’s ok,” Sam whispered to you while Dean got started on the stitches. You fought to free yourself and get away from the needle, but you were no match for Sam’s strength.
You started to cry in Sam’s arms, but you didn’t speak as Dean finished up the stitches quickly and then helped Sam lay you gently in the back, your head in Sam’s lap.
“Are you sure she doesn’t need a hospital?” Sam asked as Dean got in the front seat and started for the motel.
“They’d have too many questions, and we don’t have answers,” Dean huffed. “You’ve got her blood type. We may have to do a jerryrig transfusion when we get back.”
“Sleep now?” You mumbled, your eyes already fluttering shut. Dean glanced back at you. He was worried about you sleeping, but he feared that they wouldn’t have a choice with the way you were dozing already, and he didn’t want to scare you.
“Yeah sweetheart, you can sleep now.”
Your face relaxed into a gentle smile, and you gave a half-hearted thumbs up.
“I love you…” you whispered before dozing off.
“I love you” would be the last words the boys heard from you for a long time.
The ghouls didn’t look like Adam and his mom this time; they looked like Sam and Dean.
“We ate your brothers already,” ghoul Dean said. “So there’s nobody to save you.”
“We’re gonna eat you nice and slow,” ghoul Sam added. “One. Bite. At a time.”
Both brothers jumped for you at the same time, ready to rip you apart—
“Y/N! Y/N, wake up!”
You bolted upright, your eyes blinking into focus to see Sam leaning over the back of his seat in the Impala to shake you awake. Dean was stealing glances at you from the drivers’ seat.
“You ok, kiddo?” Dean asked.
You offered him a small nod in reply, and he shared a glance with Sam. This was the third time in just over a day that you’d awoken from a nightmare since your time with the ghouls, and you still hadn’t spoken a word. Sam had had to give you some of his blood, but you were either asleep or unconscious for most of it.
Dean had put bandages over your wounds to keep you from scratching at them in your sleep, and he’d hoped that would be the end of it. But something about the ghouls had scared you more than any other monster you’d seen. Dean was kicking himself every minute, think about how he should’ve gotten to you faster, he shouldn’t have let those ghouls cut you open and scare you so badly.
Distracted, Dean didn’t notice the light turning green in front of him until the car behind him honked. The sudden beep had you nearly jumping out of your seat, your eyes wide and panicked.
“Hey, easy,” Sam soothed. “You’re ok.”
“What are you—“ Dean stared at you as you started to climb over the seat, only tearing his gaze away when he had to make a turn. “Kid, what are you doing?”
You didn’t answer—you just finished climbing over the seat and then leaned against Sam, who—despite his surprise—wrapped his arms around you and let you burrow against him.
“You ok, N/N?” He asked. No response.
“Cat got your tongue?” Dean quipped. At your silence, he prodded, “Kiddo, say something.” He waited a beat. Nothing. “Would you say something?” He snapped.
“Hey, easy,” Sam chided. Dean finally turned his eyes from the road to look at you again—you had all but disappeared into Sam’s side, your face tucked against his shoulder like you were trying to hide from the world.
Come along with me and don’t be scared
I just wanna set you free
Dean took the hint and stopped digging. Sam was content to sit in the silence, but he could practically feel Dean worrying beside him.
“We took care of those ghouls, N/N,” Dean assured you. “Nobody’s ever gonna hurt you again.”
You stared down at your bandaged wrists and said nothing.
Things between the Winchester siblings had changed. Dean spent most of his time either worrying about you, or trying to get you to talk. Sam however, had decided on a different approach after weeks of your silence. Dean was out on a grocery run when Sam brought his approach to you.
“Hey honey,” he greeted, “Can I show you something?”
You nodded, and he came to sit with you on your bed, bringing his laptop with him.
You and me can make it up, anyway
For now, we can stay here for a while
“So, I know you don’t really wanna talk anymore,” he began, and when you started to squirm he quickly continued— “It’s ok, really. I don’t want to make you do anything you don’t want to do. I just thought…maybe if you don’t want to talk anymore, we could try this.” Sam set his laptop down in front of you. “It’s a sign language course. I found this website online with all these videos and—and I just thought maybe we could try this out. If you wanted to. I thought maybe it would be easier than talking.”
You seemed to consider it for a long moment before nodding at your brother, and he grinned.
“Cool—uh—let’s get started.”
“What are you guys up to?” Dean’s voice caught yours and Sam’s attention as he returned to the motel room. You made a series of gestures at him, to which he stared blankly.
“She said we’re learning sign language,” Sam interpreted with a grin. “You wanna join us?”
“Sign language?” Dean frowned. “What for?”
“Oh—well—“ Sam stumbled over his words, his surety of a few minutes ago gone. “For fun, I guess.”
“Huh.” Dean shook his head. “Ok, well, I’ve got food, so dig in.”
You weren’t asleep, but they thought you were; you could tell because they were talking about you.
“Why are you against this sign language thing?”
“Why? Because she doesn’t need it, Sam. I mean, don’t you want her to talk again?”
“Of course I do, Dean. But right now that doesn’t look like an option, and I still want to be able to communicate with her!”
“But if we do this, then maybe she never tries to talk again!”
“But if we don’t, then we run the risk of never connecting with her again, Dean!”
“That’s not true, if we—“
The voices cut off when you sat up in bed, jumping off and running to your brothers. Dean let you jump into his lap and get comfortable. You signed at Sam, and he sighed and said to Dean—
“She said, stop fighting.”
Cause you know, I just wanna see your smile
No matter where you go, know you’re not alone
“If you wanna sign, then I’ll do it with you,” Dean said. “I just…I miss you. I wish you would talk to us. But if this—“ Dean waved his fingers at you, and you grinned. “If this is how you want to talk, I can do that. I just want you to feel safe. You know you’re safe, right?”
When you’re weak I’ll be strong
I’m gonna keep holding on
You signed, and Sam said—
“She says I know.”
“Know?” Dean repeated your sign. “This is know?”
You nodded, and he grinned.
“Ok. So what’s next?”
“The alphabet is the most important thing,” Sam offered.
“Ok then. You know, I taught both of you guys your ABCs? Now it’s time to return the favor.”
You giggled, and just the hint of your voice brightened Dean’s mood.
The sign language lessons were going well, but Dean was still worried. Every little unexpected sound still freaked you out, and Dean was avoiding any mention of monsters, especially ghouls. Which wasn’t going to be easy much longer.
“Hey, the cameras didn’t pick up any eye flare, so the look-alike can’t be a shifter. Dean I think it’s a—
“Sam, how about we go get some food,” Dean cut him off, forcing himself not to glance in your direction. Even without looking he could tell you’d tensed up.
“Oh…right, ok.” Sam and Dean started for the door, but a tug on Dean’s arm stopped him.
Darling, if you feel like hope is gone
Just run into my arms
You were at his elbow, your eyes wide and your fingers trembling. Dean hadn’t stopped Sam fast enough—you knew it was a ghoul.
“They’re never gonna come near you,” Dean promised. “Me and Sam will take care of it.”
Your hands tightened on his arm, unwilling to let go.
“Hey,” Sam spoke up. “We’ve got this. We’ll be back in a few hours. Just lock yourself in here, and call if you need us.”
You slowly released Dean’s arm.
Be safe, you signed at them.
“Always,” Dean said, patting your shoulder before turning and leading Sam toward the hunt.
I’m only one call away
I’ll be there to save the day
“She called me twelve times.”
“Why didn’t you answer?”
“I was in the middle of killing a ghoul!”
“Well, call her now,” Sam insisted.
Dean clicked on your number as he started up Baby.
“We’ll be back in two minutes,” he said. He got no response, so he hung up and drove faster.
Dean was thrown back a half step the second he opened the door by the force of you throwing yourself at him.
“I’m ok, it’s all ok,” he said. “You’re ok, right?”
You nodded, pulling away long enough to grab onto Sam.
“The ghoul is dead,” Sam said. “It’s all over, ok?”
You just kept holding on, so Sam picked you up and carried you over to your bed.
“I know you’re still pretty freaked,” he said. “And that’s ok.”
“Yeah,” Dean cut in. “And if you don’t want to talk, that’s ok too.”
“But we both need you to know that we’ll keep you safe,” Sam said. “You know that, don’t you? No matter what, we’re not gonna let you get hurt again.”
You nodded firmly, and Sam smiled as he tucked you into bed. You slept soundly that night, knowing your brothers were right next to you, always watching over you.
Superman got nothing on me
I’m only one call away
“Today, we will be discussing werewolves. Can anyone tell me what werewolves are?”
Lily Evans’ hand instantly shot up. “They are XXXXX-classified beasts in The Ministry of Magic. A werewolf, also known as a lycanthrope, is a creature which normally resembles a human being but, upon the rising of the full moon, became an uncontrollable wolf.”
He wasn’t going to be listening to that, knowing that Peter and James were in the hospital wing, waiting for Remus to wake up.
Sirius’ hand, instinctively, shot up. “First of all, they should only be classified under the full moon, because during every other day of the month, they’re human. Second of all, The Ministry doesn’t know jackshit—”
“Mr. Black!”
“And they do not resemble a human being, because they are one. Third of all, lycanthropy is an infection, not something you’re born with.”
“Never said it is,” Evans said, turning her head to face him with a smile, but he could almost feel her teeth gritting, “but if you were to look in The Prophet at the attacks, there’s a few of them of werewolves, right?”
“That’s a generalisation, Evans. There are werewolves who live in the wilderness and werewolves who live among humans. And the werewolves who live on the outskirts of society were driven away by wix, who pointed at them and called them beasts and monsters.”
“Why so invested in the topic, Black? Are you a werewolf?” Snape drawled, barely looking up from his paper.
“Yeah,” Sirius replied, barely sparing him a glance, “next time you piss me off, I’ll come to the dorms and maul you in your sleep.”
Snape settled on scoffing at him and turning back to talking to his “mate.” Sirius focused his attention back on Lily.
“And let’s not forget the werewolf registry, who is cruel and, frankly, idiotic by itself. Who expects werewolves to go sign themselves up to be locked up? That must be one of the least thoughtful things they’ve done, which says a lot, all things considered. Nobody’s gonna go sign themselves up for something like that.”
“It would be a protection method. They’re safe—”
“They’re not exactly fucking comfortable, though, are they?”
“Mr. Black!”
“Well, no,” Evans replied, sounding slightly irritated. “Obviously not. But it would be better for those around them, too. Would you like to be ripped to shreds?”
“Mrs. Evans!”
“No, I would not, and no, it would not be, because it’s uncomfortable and the transformation is horrible enough as is. Maybe, for one, we should think about,” He air-quoted, “the lower creatures, and try finding options that benefit them especially, more than us. They’ve got as many rights as we have.”
The bell rang; a class dismissed.
“Meet me after class, Mr. Black.”
“Gladly, Professor.”
“Black! One second!” Evans said, as Sirius started packing his bags. He grinned to himself; bingo.
All I want for Christmas is You
Thanks for the prompt 😛 2.1k words
themes: Christmas? Idk
tw: smut
prompt: This is around now/ them being in a relationship. The wholes team is kinda sulky and grey after losing USC even thought it’s almost Christmas. They are all just chilling in the dorms, playing video games, chatting, and packing up for the break. Azzi decides to surprise Paige with an earlier Christmas gift. She calls her over and reveals her festive lingerie. Paige is obviously gooning and immediately shuts the door. (go all out with the scene I didn’t have any l ideas 💀)After a while they realize they went a little crazy and are defiantly gonna have to wash themselves up… and the sheets. “Paige why are you cleaning the sheets right before your leaving for home?”- a teammate asks.        -😛
The entire media conference after the game was brutal. Paige sat there and was professional but wanted nothing more than to wrap herself up in Azzi’s arms.
After 3 years of dating, they had been closer than ever. Azzi was the only one who knew how to make her feel better-way better- after a loss.
When they were back in the dorms, everyone was just chilling in the living room of the suite.
Paige sat with Ice and Kk playing fortnite trying to get her mind off of the loss.
Paige was one to take the loss personally so she would do everything she could to get her mind off of it.
“Hey do you know where Azzi is?” Paige asked as she went for another kill.
“She’s still with the trainer.” Ice replied shortly as she continued fiddling with the remote. Distracted, paige handed off the remote to sarah who happily took over for her.
Paige missed Azzi, bad, the longer they had been dating the more needy Paige had found herself for her.
Paige slumped onto the couch behind them facing Azzi’s bedroom door, and pulled out her phone.
—-
Me: wya I miss u😕
💗: I’m at the trainer I’ll be home soon Paigey
Me: 😐
💗: it will be worth the wait trust me I have a surprise for u
Ur gonna like it a lot trust me….
—-
It looked like the day was gonna be looking up.
30 minutes later, the front door opened and Paige immediately whipped her head around to make eyes with Azzi.
Paige immediately stood up and ran to Azzi wrapping her arms around her waist tightly and snuggling into the crook of her neck.
“Missed you so much baby.” She said as she breathed in the smell of her coconut shampoo and vanilla perfume.
Paige looked down and saw Azzi was carrying a black and pink bag. Her eyes perked up.
“Is that what I think it is?” Paige whispered teasingly while attaching her lips to Azzi’s neck making her giggle.
“Maybe… but you’re gonna have to wait a few minutes so I can get your present all set up.” Azzi responded moving her hand up to play with paige’s blonde hair that had fallen into her face as she clung to her.
“Present? What for?” Paige said eagerly trying to snoop in the bag.
“Paige! Be patient, no peaking. It’s just an early Christmas gift. Just stay here and I will call you in when I’m ready.” Azzi replied pulling away from paige and walking to the bedroom.
Paige smirked and walked over to the couch as she watched Azzi walk into the bedroom.
Paige spread her legs a little as Azzi turned around watching as Azzi blushed her eyes darting to her clothed center.
Azzi then put a finger to her lips and disappeared into her bedroom.
Paige felt her panties dampen in anticipation on what Azzi had planned for her.
The longer Azzi took the more needy she became.
10 long minutes later she heard Azzi call out.
“Paige can you come help me in here?” Paige bolted up and brusquely but nonchalantly (or so she thought) to Azzi’s room.
“Fuck guess I need to grab my headphone” ice said laughing as Paige shut Azzi’s door behind her. They weren’t exactly quiet.
Inside Azzi’s room paige walked in to the bed and felt two hands creep around the back of her head covering her eyes.
“Guess who” Azzi smirked behind her
“Hmmm I don’t know Q?” Paige said teasingly.
“Alright you’re not getting your present after that one.” Azzi laughed as paige hungrily turned around.
“Where is it?” Paige said as she looked at Azzi who was wearing her pink fluffy robe.
“Get on the bed and I’ll show you.” Azzi said dominantly giving her a shove so she would fall backwards.
Paige crawled up to the headboard and turned around so she was facing Azzi watching her in awe.
Azzi slowly reached for the tie of her robe and began to undo the knot.
Paige felt her breath hitch as she watched the pink fluffy robe slide down Azzi’s shoulders and drop onto the floor.
Paiges eyes scanned Azzi’s body in adoration.
She was weary a silver and red lingerie set that was lacy and completely mesh.
Paige thought her eyes were going to bulge out of her head at the sight of Azzi’s perky nipples poking through the thin shear fabric.
Suddenly paige found herself extremely needy for Azzi’s touch.
“You’re so beautiful Azzi.” Paige said her eyes continuing to stare at her body.
Azzi smirked as she climbed onto the bed and crawled towards Paige.
Azzi pushes her shoulders so she is now fully laying on her back on the bed.
Azzi sits up staring down on her, straddling her legs.
She leans forward and starts to press soft kisses along her jaw and neck.
“You’re the prettiest girl in the world.” Azzi says in between kisses as Paige lets out a soft sigh.
Azzi moves her hands downwards, lips still connected to Paige’s neck, and tugs on her t shirt.
Paige puts her hands up instinctively and Azzi slides it off her, immediately coming in contact with her soft nipples hardening under Azzi’s gaze.
“Wow no bra? Someone was ready for this, huh?” Azzi laughs as she connects her hands and begins to massage Paige’s chest.
“Wanted to be ready for your surprise.” Paige whispers eagerly as she pulls Azzi’s face in to kiss her.
Paige’s hunger for Azzi’s skin is almost bubbling as she runs her tongue along Azzi’s bottom lip. She attaches her teeth and pulls watching Azzi lean towards her needily, letting out a breathy moan.
Azzi starts to grind her hips against Paige’s pelvis begging for friction.
Azzi leans back placing her hand on Paiges thighs as she arches her back and grinds down on Paige’s thighs.
A groan leaves paige’s mouth as she searches desperately for more contact.
She opens her eyes and watches in aw as Azzi gently grinds back and forth on her.
“Please.” Paige moans noticing the damp spot on Azzi’s panties.
“You need more baby?” Azzi says seductively as she begins to slide down paige’s pants continuing to ride her.
Paige lets out a yelp, biting her lip as Azzi presses her knee against paige’s clit.
“Oh god.” Paige groans as she throws her head back.
Azzi leans forward laying her chest on Paige as she continues to apply pressure on her pussy.
She starts to press kisses against her tits, sucking on her nipples and blowing as she starts to feel the slick accumulate in between them.
Paige moans loudly against Azzi’s chest.
“Shh! Paige you have to be quiet we don’t need anymore complaints.” Azzi teases as paige rolls her eyes.
“Haha very funny, if I remember right it was your screaming that had caroline running in thinking you were dying.” Paige replies still out of breath. Azzi returns the eyeroll and presses her hand against paige’s mouth to shut her up.
Paige spreads her legs wider giving Azzi more access to grind against her.
After what felt like hours of Azzi’s rubbing against her clit paige could barely keep herself together.
“Azzi please” she groaned “need to cum please.”
Azzi giggled to herself at her girlfriend’s fucked out state.
“Look at me baby.” Azzi said dominantly “I want you to watch me while you cum.”
Paiges eyes immediately popped open entranced by Azzi staring directly back at her.
Azzi’s eyes alone were enough to make her cum, and when Azzi started picking up the pace, rubbing herself against paige more aggressively, paige could no longer contain her cum, letting her juices spill out of her and onto the bed sheets as she moaned.
As Azzi continued to grind against her, riding out her high, paige began to rub her fingers teasingly over her panties watching as Azzi’s eyes rolled to the back of her head, already stimulated by her grinding against paige.
Paige watched Azzi intently focused on Azzi’s body.
As paige began to apply more pressure Azzi lifted her hips now hovering over paige’s stomach kneeling so her legs were seperated enough for paige to access her clit.
Azzi let out a raspy moan, and Paige pulled her panties to the side desperately needing to be in contact with her wetness.
Azzi’s warm heat coated her fingers as she rubbed back and forth against her pussy.
Azzi leaned over to stabilize herself as Paige stuffed two fingers inside her tight hole.
Paige began to thrust in and out of her stabilizing her by holding onto her waist.
As she felt Azzi’s legs shake she flipped them over so she was now on top.
With her new angle she pounded furiously into Azzi’s pussy, using her thumb to rub at her clit.
Azzi continued to moan loudly pulling at paige’s hair, thrusting her hips so paige’s fingers would dig deeper in her core.
Paiges fingers plunging into her gummy walls caused Azzi to shake with pleasure.
Hearing Azzi’s frustrated moans as she tried to rub herself against paige’s fingers.
Paige paused, watching as Azzi whimpered and squirmed deserpeate for her fingers to restart their pounding.
Azzi started trying to fuck herself on Paige’s fingers, desperate to reach her climax.
Just as Azzi let out another needy moan, paige plunged another finger in, pounding 3 in and out of her.
Paige uses her other hand to rub her clit, before pressing gently on her lower stomach.
With that Azzi feels the band in her stomach snap, and feels her cum spill out of her joining paige’s on the sheets
They go back and forth pleasing each other until they are just a heap of moans unable to catch their breath.
The sheets are soaked with sweat and their cum.
“Guess we may have over done it.” Azzi laughed her head laying in the sheets.
“Nahh don’t know what you’re talking about.” Paige replied cheekily.
They lay there nuzzled together for a little longer but eventually Azzi could no longer stand it.
“Alright I gotta shower and you have got to wash these sheets like this is just embarrassing I feel like I wet the bed.” Azzi huffed trying to sit up with Paige’s lengthy body weighing her down.
“I mean you kinda did.” Paige said trying to hide her giggle as Azzi glared at her and hitting her over the head with a pillow.
“Says you!” She shot back as she crawled out of paige’s grasp and stood up.
“We are leaving tomorrow morning early, if you don’t wash the sheets now they will be worse when we get back.” Azzi said as paige fell back onto the bed.
“Ughhhh” she whined, “I know I know I have to clean them. But I literally just did like 2 days ago… “ paige whined as she sat back up and grabbed Azzi’s hand.
“I don’t like when you shower without me.” Paige pouted fluttering her eyelashes teasingly.
Azzi shoved her face with her hand laughing, “you’re such a freak paige oh my god.” She pauses for a minute. “If you go clean the sheets we will see what happens.” Azzi says shrugging leaving the room so paige can ponder that.
Paige makes the executive decision it would be a good idea to see where things that night might lead with Azzi so she strips the bed and makes a pile to bring to the laundry.
Paige is fantasizeing about all the things Azzi might have planned since she is being a “good girl” and cleaning the sheets like Azzi asked her, when she hears a knock.
“Back so soon” Paige teases assuming Azzi couldn’t resist her… it was Aubrey.
“Uhm sorry, not who you were hoping, I just had a quick-“ Aubrey looks down at paige piling her sheets into her hamper, “you know what I’m gonna just ask Ice it’s fine.” She trials off. “Why are you washing your sheets paige?” She teases knowing exactly what it means.
“What do you mean? I can’t wash my sheets now?” Paige replied confused.
“You just changed them like two days ago? And we are leaving for vacation it’s not like you will be sleeping on them anytime soon.”
Paige smirked, “well they got dirty quick I guess.”
Aubrey stares at her a little confused then Azzi walks in the room and the pieces click.
Her eyes widen, “y’all are nasty” Aubrey says laughing running out of the room, likely to go tell Ice and Kk.
Azzi looks at Paige confused.
“What did I do?” Azzi says softly her big eyes staring at Paige, and paige can’t help but melt under her adorable eyes.
“She’s just jealous baby don’t worry.” paige says pulling her into a hug and rubbing her hand on her back.
“Busy?” Vivica hums with doubt. “Again.”
“Sorry, Vic, I just... can’t,” you roll your eyes at your reflection. No, the eye liner is too much. You think mascara’s fine.
“What’s going on?” Her voice rises from your phone as it rests amid the mess of your bathroom counter. “Ever since your birthday, you’ve been kind of a bitch.”
She isn’t wrong. You twist the wand of the mascara and pop it from the tube. You sigh.
“I know, I’m sorry. Better reason for you all to go without me,” you say. “I don’t want to bring you down.”
“Hm, fine,” she lets her disappointment through. “But you’re getting coffee with me soon. I’m worried.”
You nod and brush through your lashes. “I’ll let you know what I’m free.”
You sniff as she tuts noisily. “Fine, I’ll wait.”
“Go, have fun,” you insist. “Text you later.”
“Right, sure.”
You tap the red button and the call ends. You slide the wand into place and twist the mascara shut. You fighting a losing battle here. You drop the tube and throw your head back, heaving out a breath.
You don’t even know why you’re doing this. It’s a joke. A date? You’ll just be letting down one more person. You hate to waste Curtis’ time. Hence, why you haven’t told anyone about it. You don’t need them to know about another fuck up.
The phone buzzes. You roll your eyes and press your fingerprint to the screen to unlock. You expect another long lecture typed out by Vivica, instead, it’s Curtis. Is he already here? No, you’re not ready. You bend to read his message.
‘Hey, if you got em, wear sneakers or hiking boots.’
You squint. Huh? Is he taking you on a hike? Wow. Well, you suppose you deserve that kind of effort. Besides, you’re really not in the mood for a crowded restaurant where you have to pretend to know the appetizer sharing etiquette.
‘I can dig some out’ you type back.
You step back and sift through your sparse make up. You pick out a shade of lip gloss closest to your natural hue. Is it really necessary? Why are you even trying? You know how this ends. You pop your lips and snap the cap into place.
Maybe he’s a murderer. Somehow, that doesn’t scare you. Even as the pieces seem to fall into place. He’s taking you out alone. Somewhere he’s kept a surprise, and he told you to bring sporty shoes. You expect you might be running from an axe in the woods soon enough. Not such a dire end considering.
You shake off the absurd thought. You don’t want to look like you went overboard. Curtis has been so casual about all of this. Yeah, casual. Just put on something simple.
The black jeans could easily be mistaken for nicer pants. The turtleneck isn’t too much either. Blue cotton with little white daisies. You’ll put a cardigan over it and pull on your hiking boots. Wow, a dream come true. A date in Sorel avant garde.
Your nerves begin to go wild. You don’t know why. It’s not a real date, it’s a courtesy. He asked so you might as well just go. You grab your phone and wait on the couch, a youtube video babbling unheard from the television.
Your phone vibrates. You sit up. It’s Curtis.
‘Here. I think.’
‘I’ll come down’. You type back.
You get up and hurry around. You grab your crossbody bag and your keys. You shoulder out the door and lock it behind you. Your phone buzzes once more.
‘Right by the door.’
You come out and look around, searching the cars parked along the curb. Your attention is drawn back to the motorcycle between an SUV and Honda Accord. You approach Curtis as he hugs a second helmet under his arm.
“Hope you don’t mind.” He offers the helmet.
You take it as you process the full picture. The matte black tank, the leather saddle bags in the same shade as his jacket and gloves, the steel gray exhaust and thick tires. You nod.
“Not at all.”
“I shoulda warned you,” he says.
“I’ve been on one before,” you assure him as you pull on the helmet and loop the strap under your chin.
“Oh?”
“I know, I don’t look like the type. I’m not.” You flip the visor down.
“Ah, well, whoever he was, hope he didn’t spoil the ride completely,” he says, “get on.”
He turns and straddles the bike, kick back the stand. You hesitate then reach for his arm. You climb up behind him and swing your leg over. You wince as you land on the seat. Ouch, you’re still a bit sore down there.
“Gonna have to hang on tight,” he pats his side.
“Sure, uh... right.”
You hook your arms around him. This is an easy gag for a man. Get a woman nice and close under the fear she might become road kill. Slick.
“You ready?” He rolls the bike towards the street.
“Ready,” you assure him.
He starts the motor and revs. He angles around and speeds off down the road. You pull yourself closer as the wind tunnels around you. The smell of leather fills your nose as you close your eyes. It’s not awful, is it?
When you look again, you’re head towards the town line. You watch the trees grow thicker as he steers along the country roads. That paranoia rises again. It would be just your luck. Look what happened the other night.
You lift your head and peek over his shoulder. He rides up to a farm and comes a halt. He plants his feet in the dirt and kills the engine. A thrum lingers in your muscles as the roar of the bike dulls your hearing.
“We’re here,” he proclaims.
You take his cue. You get off first and he parks the bike with a kick of the stand. You wiggle the helmet off and look up at the farmhouse and the barn further back. Your brows pinch together curiously.
“It’s not that lame, I promise.” He takes your helmet and hangs it with his on the handle bar.  “Friend of mine owns the place. He let me have it for the night.”
“Mhm, good friend.”
“Yeah, he can be,” he removes the saddlebags from the back of the bike and waves you on. “That way, just around the back.”
You nod and turn away. You stride up along the side of the house. It’s an old-fashioned place. Faded wood and peeling paint. You pause before you can pass it completely. You look back at him as he nearly runs into you.
“Everything alright?” He asks.
You look him in his stormy gray eyes, “you’re not going to kill me, right?”
He snorts and his cheek dimples. “I can’t guarantee no blood but that’s far from the plan.”
You frown. What a strange answer.
You shrug and turn back to your path. You come out around the back of the house, sown fields in the early stages of growth behind a large board painted with circles. A ply wood target. A picnic table across from it with a clutter over one half. You cross your arms as you near.
“Hatchet throwing,” he puts the saddle bags on the table. “Thought it would be fun. Something a little less... crowded.”
“Oh?” You tilt your head like a squawking crow.
He lifts one of the axes and holds it up. “Good stress relief.”
“Mm,” you reach for one, less confident in your grasp.
He turns to the target and extends his arm towards it. “You wanna keep a light but sturdy grip,” he says. “You don’t want it to catch.”
He bends his arm back and swings it ahead again, letting the hatchet fly with easy. You flinch as it thunks into the target, just off-center. Your lips slant.
“You got a lot of experience?”
“Well, I started with darts at the bar but didn’t like all the drunks. There’s a place you can pay to do this in town but it’s pricey and loud,” he says. “So... I put this together.”
“Yeah, probably not worth the money.” The words hang in the air, a question whether you mean the activity or yourself.
“Go ahead.”
“Uh, oh,” push your bag behind you and look at the target. “I...” You raise your arm, try to line up your aim, then drop it down. “I can’t.”
“You want a few tips?”
“Think I need them.”
“Alright, no problem. It’s no biggy. Worst that happens, it lands in the dirt.” He comes close and lightly guides you by your shoulders, standing you perpendicular to the target. “Alright, bring it up.”
You raise your arm and he helps you line up. He gets even closer and nudges your feet with his scuffed boots to get you in position. “That’s it, just like that.”
You grip the axe tighter and your eyes widen. Those words hit you like the blade, slicing deep. The body on top of yours, his rasping cooes, and his cruel thrusts. You blink away the vision of Hugh and shudder.
“Here,” Curtis touches your hand, “loosen up. Pull back. Yeah, you got it.” He steps back, “when you’re ready, let it fly.”
He stands away from you and watches. You bite down and stare at the target. All your frustration and fear bubbles in your chest. You narrow your eyes and take a breath. You fling the hatchet without restraint. The thunk in the wood is deafening.
Curtis whistles, “wow, good shot.”
You turn straight to examine the board. Your shot is opposite of his, right on the line with the bullseye.
“Lucky,” you say.
“I dunno, you seem like a natural,” he crosses the ground and pulls out the hatches. “Wanna toss a few more? Build up an appetite?”
“Uh, sure,” you agree. “It is kind of fun.”
“I think so. Even more when you have company,” he approaches and offers the hatchet. “I packed a picnic so we won’t have to chew on seeds.”
You glance at the sprouting fields. You laugh. It was a little fun.
“Got one,” he spins the hatchet in his hand. “You go first. Since you won first round.”
“What? No I didn’t.”
“You were closer so... that’s a win. Champ.”
“Alright, no need for the sarcasm,” you shake your head.
“I’m a sore loser,” he winks. “So, take it easy on me and I might lighten up.”
🎯
The rumble of the engine stays with you as you climb off the bike. Curtis cuts the engine and flips down the stand. He takes off his helmet as you descend back to earth. Literally. Somehow in those last three hours or so, he kept the world from invading your mind.
“That was nice,” he says. “I think.”
You hold the helmet in your hands, a good way to keep them still. You look down and crack a smile. He hangs his on the bike.
“Another one huh?” He says and you pop your head up. “Got another smile.”
You blush and shake your head, “I don’t know. I guess.”
“You had fun?” He asks.
“I did,” you contend and hand over the helmet. “Thanks. For everything.”
“No, thank you.” He holds the helmet at his side and stares at you. The streetlights cast ominous shadows over him. He shifts so his sole scrapes the ground. “I hope maybe we can do it again.”
“Er...” you’re struck by the suggestion. Again? Like a second date. That can’t be real. Not after everything. Oh bitter irony. “Sure, Curtis. I think next time I could let you win.”
“Yeah, next time,” he rasps. He leans in and you realise what’s happening. He’s going to kiss you. Oh.
“Ugh, oh,” you trip on nothing and hop up on the curb. “Oops, sorry, it’s so dark out here.”
He recoils and clears his throat, “yeah, uh, you want me to walk you to the door?”
“Uh, no, no,” you put your palms up. “I won’t take up any more of your time.”
“Alright,” he says despondently. “Have a good night.”
“Yeah, you too.”
“I’ll text,” he mutters.
“I’ll answer.”
You spin and cringe at your building. You suck. You're a dork. Ew. Ew. Ew.
You march up the walk and don’t stop until you’re inside. You blew it. So close but so far. Just like you expected. Well, then you can be that disappointed.
You retreat to your apartment and slam your phone down. You won’t think about it. He has to drive home and he won’t text tonight anyway. You just hate a date. A date!
Was it really real? After everything? You think so.
You sink onto the couch. You hold your chin and pick your lip. Just another day and you’d be in la la land. This would be heaven. One more day and you may have let him kiss you. Before you were used up and tarnished.
Ugh. Why couldn’t you have just let it happen? Because those things don’t happen to you. Romance isn’t for you. It’s for other people. And people lie. Even Curtis. Maybe he won’t text after all.
You lean back and turn on the television in resignation. You put on an early 00s sitcom with a sadly departed main star. That’s how life is. When it’s good, it goes wrong, or it’s just over. When it’s bad, that’s when it seems eternal.
You cross your legs then think better of that. Even with all the lube, there’s a lot of damage done. Nothing serious, just sensitive. It was your first time. You don’t imagine it gets better.
Your phone buzzes at the end of episode two. You nearly jump off the sofa. Don’t be stupid.
You get up, patiently, and get your phone. You sit down again before you unlock it. The message that comes up isn’t from Curtis. Or Vivica. Or Mila. Or Jerrod.
It’s from WhatsApp. You only ever used that for...
‘You lookin’ for another weekend fling?’
You stare at Hugh’s message. You deleted the conversation but you recognise the number. The two checkmarks turn green to show you’ve read the message. God dammit.
You don’t answer. You can’t. You’re mortified. You crash back to earth with startling speed. You can’t undo that. Worse, you don’t think you’ll ever get past it.
You clear all your apps and put your phone on do not disturb.
You stretch out on the couch and focus on the TV. Not really. It just glares in your vision as you stare through it. As you can hear nothing but a distant whistle. You stay like that, fractured, until your consciousness slowly falls away.
You’re back in the hotel room. Alone one minute then pinned to the bed. The ceilings tear open as Hugh fucks you. You’re gushing around him, the smell of blood fills the air with iron. You meld with the blankets, shrouded in them, then suddenly thunder roars through the space.
Curtis rides in on his motorcycle. How? A hatchet flies and hit the headboard, glancing by your cheek. You look past Hugh’s writhing body, completely oblivious of the other’s man disgusted glares.
“Slut.”
The word wakes you. You jolt up and hold your head dizzily. The windows are glazed over with the soft tones of morning. You groan and turn your legs over the edge of the couch.
You get up to make your coffee. The dark roast brew and the aroma eases your nerves. You grab you phone out of habit and sit down. You have another message. You put the phone down.
You go back to the kitchen and fill a mug. You drink in silence. You take the cup into the bathroom and shower before you finish the dregs. As you sit to pee, you wince. It’s been a week. It’s still painful but you’re sure it’s all in your head. After all, your pride hurts worse than anything else.
You rinse your cup, pick up your phone, and determine to delete the message. As the chat opens, you’re stopped by the image there. You nearly drop it. Instead, you lean on the counter is gasp.
‘Thot I was ur 1st' the message reads beneath the photo of you and Curtis in the yellow cascade of the streetlight.
The checkmark fills and three bubbles pop up. Fuck. The next text comes quickly.
‘How would ur bf feel about u fucking strangers?’
‘Not my bf. Leave me alone.’ Your thumbs tap furiously and you hit send.
He sends a laughing emoji and the dots appear again. ‘I got a discount. Just 4 u.’
‘No thx. Not interested’
‘Didn’t ask don’t care but think I know who would’
You huff and hang your head back. You don’t get it. Why is he doing this? He got his fee and you got what you paid for.
‘No. Pls don’t message again.’
You bring down the menu and delete the conversation and block the sender. It isn’t until after that that you realise. He took that picture outside your building. He knows where you live. How?
The police? Would they do anything? Would they believe you? You just deleted the evidence.
He’s bluffing right. He just wanted more money. You’re not stupid. Come on. You are a wallet to him, nothing more. You’re not naive enough to think he enjoyed it any more than you did. It’s business to him. He did his job and he got a pretty penny. If you could get that much for a few hours, you’d be hustling too.
It’s just a poor attempt at blackmail. A hail mary for any extra pay check. Too bad for him, you don’t have that type of money. You already splurge on regret.
You’ll keep an eye over your shoulder but you really doubt it’s anything more than greed. He must have a dozen clients. Hm... that thought doesn't make feel you better. You don’t know that you’ll ever really feel good again. Did you ever before?
📱
“I know it’s cliche but I told you, I’m not exactly the creative type,” you settle in at the table and look through the cafe window.
“I told you, I trust your judgment. And can’t go wrong with coffee,” Curtis says.
“Guess not, but I’ve had some shitty coffee in my day.”
His cheek dimples and he tilts his head in agreement, “me too. I’m not some coffee snob but some of the water they serve around town.”
“You’re talking about Smokey’s, right? They serve ash-flavoured piss. Oh, sorry, I...” you give a sheepish smile. “I got carried away.”
“You’re right though,” he snorts.
“Ha, thanks. Mila disagrees. She keeps trying to convert me.”
“Sounds like Jensen but with those acid energy drinks. I told him, he’s going to have a heart attack.”
“Ew, those things are worse. It’s like someone made mountain dew worse.”
He chuckles. That doesn’t happen often. “Wow, I should bring you in as backup. Then he might actually listen.”
The barista comes with your drinks and you thank her. You ordered a tea latte, not your usual fare. Curtis eyes it as he cradles his cup of dark roast between his large hands.
“I’m not much of a tea person but that looks interesting.”
“London Fog. Just very foamy Earl Gray,” you explain.
“Ah,” he nods thoughtfully. Your bag vibrates and you elbow it back on your hip. Not right now, Mila. “Not to be socially awkward but you like horror movies?”
“I like them but they still scare me,” you say.
“Really? Something actually scares you?”
“What do you mean?” You scoff.
He stares at you. “Do you really not know?”
“Know... what?”
“You’re terrifyingly hard to read,” he says. “You’re so lock and key that it’s hard to tell what you’re thinking. Easy to assume you want to scoop my guts out with a plastic spoon.”
“I’m not much for slashers, I’m more into psychological scares,” you counter then catch yourself. You smile. “Sorry. I’m not... you know, I can be a bitch but I’m not really one.”
“That isn’t what I meant.”
“I know, I just don’t know how else to say... if I look at you like a rabid dog, I swear, I’m just thinking.”
“Yeah, Jensen says I have RBF too.”
“RBF?” You wonder.
“Resting Bitch Face, although he started calling it Raging Curt Face.”
You laugh. He does too. The last bit of ice melts away.
“I’m on a roll today,” he says. “So I may as well ask, wanna come over and watch scary movies?”
🍿
The mood is set. The curtains are drawn to darken the room and the television glows as the only source of light in the space. Not much of a beacon as the images on the screen remain in shadow as the grinding soundtrack drones from the speakers.
You sit on the couch, enthralled by the manic horror of the character’s shallow breaths.
You jerk as something brushes over your shoulder. You quickly still yourself as you realise what it is. Curtis stretches his arm over your shoulders.
“Scared yet?” He asks.
You giggle, “only a little.”
He stays close and you don’t push him away. It’s such a weird feeling. To have someone in your space but you don’t mind it. To be honest, it’s comforting.
You stare at the screen as the tension builds. As a loud noise frightens you, you jolt and lean into Curtis. He curls his arm snug around you. Then the next startling twist comes and you turn your face into his shoulder.
“You didn’t say you were a baby,” he teases.
“Oh, hush,” you speak into his shirt.
“Hey, it’s alright,” he grits and brings his hand up under your chin. “I’ll protect you from the boogeyman.”
You glower up at him and he sighs, “don’t look at me like that.”
“How can you tell how I’m looking at you?”
“I can feel it,” his thumb rubs your chin and he leans closer.
You swallow as he keeps coming. You don’t stop him. You’re stuck. Your body won’t answer the screaming in your head. He presses his lips to yours and you let out a soft noise. He presses his mouth against yours for a moment then pulls away.
He’s quiet as you puff you, your heart racing. “Was that okay?”
You cough, “uh, yeah... sorry, I... I’m surprised.”
“Can I do it again?” He asks.
You quiver and nod, “sure.”
He kisses you again. This time his tongue traces the crease of your lips. You open to him, unsure what you’re supposed to do. He delves within as he cradles your head and squeezes you closer.
A warmth creeps up your body. Cozy at first. Intoxicating either. But it keeps burning. Hotter and hotter as his hand slithers down your back. His groan triggers a tickle in your brain and nearly bite down.
You touch Curtis’ chest and urge him away. He reluctantly parts and slackens his hold on you. You stand up without a word.
“Everything alright?” He asks.
“I need your bathroom. Sorry.”
You hurry away, staggering through the dark, and close the bathroom door behind you. You flip the light on and stomp to the tub, sitting on the porcelain as you drop your head into your hands. What the fuck? What is wrong with you?
That wasn’t bad. It was great. You were getting somewhere. You were having a normal experience. It’s like you just can’t let yourself win.
You smack your cheek, then your other. You do it a few more times before you sit up straight. God! What a disaster. What a stupid woman you are. You can’t even blame anyone but yourself. You did this to yourself.
You ran away from Curtis. You came in here to mope. And you hired Hugh.
No, don’t-- that’s not relevant. You’re forgetting that. It didn’t happen. You’re trying to move on. You can move on. Curtis doesn’t have to be your penance; he can be your antidote.
There’s a knock at the door. You stare at the wood.
“Yeah?”
“Are you okay?” Curtis asks.
“Yep.” You call back.
“I’m sorry if... if that was too much. If I went too fast,” he says.
You huff and stand. You drag your feet to the door. You make yourself open it and face him. He turned the lights on. You ruined the night.
“I think maybe I should just go. I’m sorry I spoiled the movie,” you say. He doesn’t move.
“What? I paused it. It’s fine. We can finish it.”
“No, Curtis, I’m just... I keep... aren’t you tired of me yet?”
He shakes his head, “no, are you tired of me?”
You clamp your lips and pop them in exasperation. “No.” That makes this harder. Because you aren’t tired of him. Because you do like him.
“So why are you running away?”
He grips the door frame. He’s a big man. He doesn’t have to let you leave but you know if you say you want to go, he will. For a moment, his size reminds you of another person. One who didn’t listen. One who didn’t hear your 'stop'.
“This is really embarrassing but I’m just going to be honest otherwise you’ll just think I'm insane,” you throw your hands up. “I’ve never, uh, never... had... someone before. You know? Never been on any dates, er, until you.”
He nods and his expression stays the same, “alright.”
“So yeah...”
He narrows his eyes, “is that it?”
You stare at him. “Yeah, I guess that’s it.”
“I don’t care about that. I care about us, you know? About right now. So then or whenever, it’s not important. But right now I can be patient. I can take it slow.” He drops his hand from the frame. “We can just watch the movie. That’s it.”
You look down and slump, “I’m sorry.”
“Don’t be,” he gently touches your arm. “I don’t want you to be sorry because you did nothing wrong. Thank you for telling me.”
You don’t say anything else. You’re too mortified to muster more than a grumble. You reach for the light switch but he stands as a wall between you and escape.
“One more thing though,” he says, “I’m not just someone. I'm your boyfriend.”
You falter and clasp your hands in front of your stomach, “boyfriend?”
He smiles, “I can wait for my girl. That’s half the fun, isn’t it?”
He offers his hand and you consider it as your lips curve without a thought.  You accept the offer and latch onto his large hand.
“Guess I’ll find out,” you say.”
Hii. Any Dr. Stone requests still hanging?
What about a ranking of how easy it is to make them laugh? (I know it's pure innocent fluff, but why the heck not)
Or, for any spicy folks: how easy it is to turn them on?
Dr. Stone Most to Least Rankings
Dr. Stone is coming back: I must come back.
I’m bored so I’m doing the spicy one. With that comes:
WARNINGS: NSFW, Hyoga being a sadist (canon)
And character list so I know who to bring up while I write this (not in order): Senku, Ryusui, Ukyo, Gen, Kinro, Ginro, Hyoga, Tsukasa
Most Easy to Turn On
Ginro: well this goes without saying. Ginro thinks with his dick. He’s always drooling over girls, abandoning all common sense to impress them, etc. Hell, you’re probably not the only one he gets turned on by… sorry.
Kinro: he tried so hard to act better than that, to be better. And he’s no pervert or anything… but it’s you! Unlike his brother, this is just because he’s so enamored with you. He is not looking at anybody else.
Gen: Most likely to turn you on. Gen is a bit of a pervert… if we’re being real. Amazing self control, but he’s been secretly thinking about getting you alone since this morning, but Senku found him first and so… it was hard labor instead! Much to his dismay. He’s not struggling to contain himself or anything though. Just frustrated…
Ukyo: He’s not perverted nor does he really think about you sexually a shit ton. He doesn’t have a high sex drive, but if you’re in the mood and go tease him… he really wishes you wouldn’t. Now the two of you have to sneak off because he’s either red in the face or teasing you right back and you’re dragging him into the woods for it.
Tsukasa: We have a bit of a jump, and this is where ranking them gets difficult for me. Tsukasa has great self control and is not likely to have trouble in public. If you try to tease him, he’ll just sternly shut you down. Maybe a little flustered, but he’s fine. In private? …you’re gonna get it.
Senku: likes to think he’s above it all things like this. He’s too focused on science and rebuilding the world… right??? He can ignore you for a while, but… rub up on him once and you’ll end up being told to ride him since you need it so bad… he needs it
Ryusui: you might be shocked he’s low… but let me explain! Ryusui loves everybody, has been surrounding himself with hot women since he was a kid (as odd as that sounds having to say it, but it’s true), and so he’s just not all that affected by anybody PHYSICALLY. I think he’d happily oblige if you wanted to get physical, but he’s not staring at your body with a hard on when you walk by or even are nude…
Hyoga: okay an odd choice for the bottom, but also a good choice. I’ll explain. He’s got excellent self control and torture skills. He’s likely to control himself well and he’s not all that affected by your attempts to get his attention. The most likely to make you wait and ALSO not let you help yourself at all. He can wait this out (while purposely riling you up) until you’re crying if need be. He’s lowkey-highkey evil bro.
Vernon would have quit his job a long time ago if it hadn’t been for you. A part of him still yearned for the stage, a trusty guitar in his hands and the sound of diehard fans screaming his name. Instead, he had found himself stuck, circling the corporate ladder, clocking in to work everyday just to sit in his one lonely cubicle, staring at numbers he had only pretended to understand when getting his degree.
He had his resignation letter signed and ready to go, and he would have handed it in if it hadn’t been for the notes that had begun to appear.
Colorful post-it notes that he’d find in the most random places - first his desk, then his lunchbox, in the pocket of his coat, stuck dead center on his computer screen. It baffled him, yet the notes kept coming, every single day of work without fail. At first he had scoffed, chalking it up to some silly office prank, but as time progressed, the notes became almost a given, as if the notes itself had rooted into his everyday routine. It filled him with anticipation and a reason to clock in everyday. As much as he hesitated to admit it, the silly notes made his day.
Of course, the notes were anonymous. Vernon had no idea that you were the reason he still showed up to work.
“This is basically workplace harassment.” Anne, your closest co-worker, commented, as she watched you pen your next note to Vernon. She was the only one who knew it was you behind the colorful post-its.
“If he didn’t like it he would’ve told HR months ago.” You argued, ripping the completed note off the pad of bright orange post-its. “Besides, you’ve seen him smile at the notes. Even got a laugh out of him a couple times.”
“But-” Anne snatched the note from you and read it aloud. “I hope our love will be like the number Pi: irrational and endless.” She shook her head, tsking. “Even for a compsci major, Y/N, Vernon would never find this funny. And if he does- he’s either mocking you, or his humor is just as broken as yours.”
“It’s funny!” You protested, snatching the note back. “Besides, I don’t even know where to leave this one. I’m running out of creative ideas.”
“What’s the point? You just need him to see it, right?”
You gave her a look. “There’s a higher probability of him laughing if he doesn’t expect the note. The less obvious the place, the better. He can’t be actively looking for it.”
Anne sighed, spinning her chair back to face her work desk. “Compsci nerds.”
Ignoring her, you continued. “I’m torn between leaving it taped to his water bottle, or taped to his bike.”
“Of course Cubicle Number 218 Vernon Chwe would bike to work.” Anne rolled her eyes. “How old is this man? Can’t he drive?”
“Hey!” You protested once again, defending him. “Maybe he just lives close, more cost-efficient you know.”
Anne sighed. “Tape it to his bike.” Her fingers tapped against her keyboard as she spoke. “He’s definitely not going to be expecting that one.”
Your smile widened, already imagining his little stunned expression. “Okay. Cover for me- I’ll be right back.”
“Whatever.” Anne mumbled, although you caught a glance of the amused smile on her face.
It was famously known throughout your office that the resident of Cubicle #218, Hansol Vernon Chwe, did not smile. He came into work and left while sporting the exact same facial expression the entire time. But you knew he smiled at your silly pick-up lines, no matter how stupid. And you knew that you might be the only person who knew just how pretty Vernon’s laugh was- even if it was from a distance.
If only you knew just how much Vernon wanted to know who was behind the silly notes that were his pick-me-up each day.
You: 1 Vernon: 0
Tumblr media
“I wanna live in your socks so I can be with you every step of the way.”
Vernon snorted audibly as he read the note, this time written on a hot pink post-it. His neighbouring co-workers snuck glances at him, drawn by the sudden noise.
He ignored their stares, tucking the note into his jacket pocket for later. He was slowly amassing a collection of them, his desk back at home covered in multicolored post-its, each one from a different day. Sometimes the lines would be so terrible he’d shudder in cringe, but more often than not, he’d find them genuinely funny.
Grabbing a file he needed faxed, Vernon made his way to the copier down the hall. Someone was already occupying it- and he realized he recognized her, the pretty girl who lived in cubicle #17.
He could hear the loud music coming from her headphones, poorly hidden under her strands of hair.
“Charli?” He asked, recognizing the familiar beats and rhythm of the song.
He watched you turn around to face him, startled by his sudden appearance. “What?”
He pointed awkwardly to your headphones. “Is that Charli XCX? I didn’t think your name was Charli, don’t worry. It’s Y/N, right?” He rambled on, smiling sheepishly.
You blinked, a little dazed by the amount of words he was suddenly speaking to you. You had always thought, like everyone else in the office, that Vernon was somehow untouchable. Someone so mysterious and way out of reality that the two of you just didn’t exist on the same plane of the universe. But now here he was, talking to you like it was the most normal thing in the world.
“Yeah.” You answered, after realizing you had just been blankly staring at him. “To both questions.” You quickly added, equally awkward. “It’s Charli XCX and my name is Y/N.”
“Great.” His gaze drifted past you towards the copier. “Are you nearly done?” Holding up the file in his hand, he gestured behind you. “I need to fax something.”
“Oh!” Hurriedly moving aside, you let out a tiny laugh. “I wasn’t really using it. Sometimes I just come in here and pretend I’m busy- to get away from how stuffy the office is. I don’t know why I just told you that.” You were mortified, glancing at him to make sure he wasn’t judging you.
Vernon’s lips were quirked into a smirk, as he tried hard to push down the laughter that was threatening to bubble up inside of him. Ultimately failing, his mouth widened into a smile as he laughed, the sound filling your ears better than any song could.
“I like you.” He stated, as if it was such a simple thing and didn’t have your heart racing. “You’re funny.”
His smile widened once he caught sight of your open mouth, stunned into silence at the new side of Mr. Cubicle #218 you were currently seeing.
“Close your mouth.” He mumbled, reaching a hand out to do it for you, his fingertips lightly pressing against your jaw. “You look like a fish.”
“I- what?” You spluttered, moving a step back.
Vernon shot you another melting smile, picking up his file and closing the copier. “Anyways, I’m all done. Are you going to hide out here some more?” He kept his eyes on you as he stacked the papers in his hands, organizing them against a nearby table.
You nodded dumbly, eyes following his movement as he walked out, stopping by the doorway to shoot you a tiny salute before turning away. He walked down the hall with a gait only he had, disappearing down the hallway, leaving you feeling extremely confused, your cheeks oddly warm.
“Are you a worm? Cause I’d like to split you apart.”
Morbid, yes, but you were slowly running out of ideas. Placing the sticky note strategically in his work bag, you scurried off, ducking behind a bookshelf to watch his reaction.
“Are you a worm-” Vernon made a face as he read the note aloud. “Ew. Weird. Kinky?” He looked up at the ceiling, a concerning yet intrigued look on his face. A chuckle escaped him and you smiled in your success.
Your work days seemed to blow right by with the joy in knowing you had successfully made him laugh, mind still churning through your last encounter with Vernon by the copier a couple weeks ago. It had both startled you and ignited something within- a longing to know more about him.
“Looks like we’re the only ones left.”
You looked up, blinking your dry and strained eyes, spotting Vernon hovering right above your cubicle wall, a tired expression filling his face. You glanced around the office and realized he was right.
“Has it already been that long?” You wondered, rubbing your eyes as you shut off your computer, standing up to stretch your stiff back.
You could’ve sworn Vernon snorted at your words. “Do you enjoy working here? Time does fly when you’re having fun.”
You shook your head. “God, no. I’ve just got a lot on my mind, that’s all.” Yeah, you.
An unspeakable look crossed his face as he grabbed your coat, helping you put it on. “C’mon, we can walk together.”
“Oh. Thanks- alright.”
The walk was amicably silent as you fell in step beside him, clutching your winter coat tightly as you both entered against the harsh wind. You spotted his banged up yellow bike across the street and bit back a grin.
“You bike to work and back?” You asked, although you already knew the answer. You often passed him on your own way to work, spotting him through the windshield of your car. Nearly ran him over once, in your earlier days of working, but you don’t speak of that.
“I do.” Vernon patted the trusty bike with a loving hand. “Never failed me once.”
A laugh escaped you, your breath hitting the winter wind and turning into a light fog.
His eyebrows raised. “Are you laughing at me?” His lips quivered up as he watched you descend into laughter once again.
“No!” You exclaimed through a fit of giggles, clutching your stomach. “Oh god, it’s just- Vernon Chwe- on a bike-”
A clear and infectious cackle of a laugh joined yours as Vernon too, doubled over in laughter. You paused, staring wide-eyed as giggles escaped him, thoroughly entertained by the amusement you had found in his transportation method.
Passerbys would have deemed the pair of you as mad, with the way you clutched onto Vernon’s arm to hold yourself up as you laughed harder, his own hand gripping yours in the bitter wind. It was numbingly cold but both of your insides were warm, cheeks flushed due to the ridiculous image of Vernon on a bike.
“Yo.”
Your music paused suddenly, jolting you out of your zone. Spinning around in your chair, you frowned up at Vernon, who had somehow swiped your phone from your desk without you noticing.
“What’s up?” You sighed, taking off your headphones to glare at him. “You didn’t need to pause my music, y’know.”
“I’ve been sent on a coffee run, wanna come?” He spread his arms open in invitation. “We can take as long as we like.”
Ditching work for a while did sound like a nice pastime, especially with the lack of work you had currently. “I wouldn’t mind a breath of fresh air, actually. I’m down.”
“Put on your coat.” Vernon handed it to you, watching as you shrugged it on.
“I know you want to be in my b.e.d, grinding slowly.”
The last note had taken him terribly off guard and he needed a distraction to remedy that.
To be fair, you didn’t really know what had gotten into you- the sudden bravado and confidence put into the note had caught you terribly off guard as well.
“Do you know Joshua? He works in upper management but we’re pretty good friends.” Vernon suddenly asked, walking backwards along the sidewalk so he could look at you.
You nodded. “I’ve seen him around. He’s very social.” Unlike you, you declined to add.
“Yes. He’s hosting a social gathering later tonight, and asked if I could invite you.”
“He asked you to invite me?” You shot him a wary look, not quite believing him. You and Joshua barely passed as acquaintances.
Vernon’s hand reached behind his neck as he rubbed his nape, a sheepish and embarrassed expression on his face. You noticed his ears would turn pink whenever he was even mildly shy. “Okay, maybe I just wanted to invite you, alright?” He turned away, walking properly now to hide his face from your keen eyes.
A slow smile crossed your face. “Oh, no.” You mimed dread. “You’re in love with me, aren’t you.”
“What?” Vernon turned so fast you reckoned he must’ve gotten whiplash.
“I’m joking.” Punching his arm lightly, you gave him a lighthearted smile, ignoring the way your heart pounded at the brunt question. “I’d love to go to the little party. You didn’t have to use Joshua to invite me.”
“Well,” Vernon’s ears turned pink once again. “I’d say I’d pick you up and give you a ride home after, but- I don’t think we’d both fit on my bike.”
Both your lips twitched at the reminder of that night, where the two of you had laughed like it was the first time either one of you had found anything remotely funny.
“I’ll drive.” You offered, once the wave of silent laughter dissipated. “You can hitch your bike to the back of my car.”
“Me,” Vernon’s mouth dropped comically as he pressed his hands to his chest. “A passenger princess? How lucky.”
His smile widened as you laughed, and he shamelessly basked in the sound of it.
The smell of musk was the first thing that hit you as the two of you entered Joshua’s townhouse. It was a small, quaint place, decorated to the brim with trinkets and flower pots, overflowing with both people and food. Vernon led the way as you shuffled in, greeting familiar faces and smiling at strangers.
“I thought you said ‘small gathering.’” You yelled, tiptoed next to Vernon so you could reach his ear.
You could tell from his eyes that he had no idea what you were saying. “What?” He yelled back, although his voice was carried away by the crowd as well.
“I said-” You felt like you might burst a lung trying to communicate. “I thought you said, ‘small gathering!’”
He stared at you blankly, blinking slowly, evidently still not in the loop.
Giving up, you were about to turn away when you suddenly felt his whole body shake, quivering against you as he laughed.
“What the fuck?” You yelled, this time right in his face.
“I heard you the first time, silly.” He yelled back, a shit-eating grin spreading wider as he watched your eyebrows furrow.
“Party Vernon sucks.” You concluded, moving away, only to be pulled back by his hand on your arm.
“Didn’t you complain that I was too ‘mysterious’?” He yelled, laughing harder when you visibly paled. “Yeah, I heard that. But it’s okay. I am very…how did you put it. Sullen, at work.”
Hiding your face, you slapped his chest, causing him to groan in pain.
“Ow.”
“Ow.” You mocked back. There really was no answer as to where the sudden childishness came from, but the way Vernon was staring at you- it made reason seem almost meaningless.
He threw his head back and laughed, soundless against the party’s atmosphere but somehow just as electrifying.
“Have fun, Y/N.” He said, grabbing your hands. “Let’s dance.”
You had always sworn by the fact that driving late at night with the windows down, cold air blowing through your hair was the way to go.
“Admit it!” Vernon yelled through the wind, glancing at you from the passenger seat. “You had fun tonight.”
“I did.” You admitted. The party had been overwhelming at first, but the later the night got, the more fun you discovered yourself to have. “I haven’t had a night like that in a while.”
You braked at a red light and flipped through your playlist, switching on the one song you knew would get a reaction out of Vernon.
“I know you wanna love But I just wanna fuck And girl, you know the deal I gotta keep it real I know you wanna see I know you wanna be In my B.E.D., grinding slowly”
The light turned green and you continued to drive, the roads empty and deserted, street lamps illuminating the world in a soft amber. Occasionally, you’d glance over at Vernon, who was bopping his head to the beat, murmuring the lyrics under his breath.
Oblivious man.
Reaching over, you turned the volume up, as if the louder the music was, it’d somehow reverberate its message into his skull. Get a hint! You wanted to scream at him. I’m kind of in love with you and want to jump your bones! Hello??
Vernon continued to groove to the music without a care in the world.
“This is a good song!” He yelled in your ear, his voice mixed with the whistling of the air, whooshing past you.
“I know!” You screamed back. Oh my god. Is he really this dense?
The song kept playing as you drove, winds calming down as you neared his place. In between the gap of the song switching to the next, Vernon spoke, his calm voice contrastingly the loudness before.
“I think I’m going to quit the job.”
You nearly crashed the car at his words, jerking the steering wheel back as you computed his words. “What?”
“I mean,” he turned in his seat to face you, his hair catching the last pieces of moonlight and shimmering against his skin. “I’ve always hated my job. And I already wrote a resignation letter and everything.”
“Oh.”
He must’ve noticed your silence, because he quickly continued. “Who knows? I might try being a rockstar or something.”
“A rockstar?” You let out an astonished laugh. Vernon Chwe seemed to be surprising you at every turn, even when you felt like you'd already figured him out.
He hummed. “Yeah. It just keeps..calling me, y’know?”
“Well then you should go for it.” You parked into the driveway of his apartment complex and turned to face him. “Really.”
“You think so?” His eyes were sparkling like precious jewels.
“Yeah. I do.”
Even though you knew that meant your next note would be your last.
The office seemed even colder without the presence of Vernon around you. Even though he had always kept to himself, you could feel the lack of “Vernon” in the atmosphere. How he’d entrance you with the funny way he’d walk down the hall, his countless snack breaks and your shared copier trips. But most of all- it was the lack of notes.
“First day without Mr. Cubicle Number 218, how do you feel?” Anne asked you from her own desk. “Although, I guess he’s not 218 anymore, huh?”
“Yeah.” You stared dejectedly at your computer screen. “This job sucks.”
“Please don’t tell me you’re quitting too.” Anne let out a loud sigh. “I still think you should’ve told him you liked him.”
“I did!” You protested, rather loudly, drawing odd looks from nearby coworkers.
“You played a sex song in the car.” Anne pointed out, lowering her voice. “That is not confessing.”
“Well he should’ve put two and two together. The lyrics on the note was from that song.”
Anne laughed. “We’re talking about the male species. They wouldn’t know subtlety if it ran them over with a truck.”
“Whatever.” You muttered, returning to sulk in front of your giant mountain of paperwork. “He definitely didn’t like me like that anyways.” Sifling through the papers, you sighed. “I’m going to fax these, I’ll be right back.”
Anne only hummed, too engrossed by whatever she was reading on her phone.
Opening up the copier, you frowned at the paper already sitting there, a hot pink post-it note with messy handwriting scrawled on it.
“With all the variables in life, baby can you be my constant?”
You didn’t remember writing this.
“Call me ;)”
A loud laugh escaped you as you covered your mouth, looking around to make sure you hadn’t been caught loitering in the copy room once again. Grabbing your phone from your pocket you fumbled the numbers on the bottom of the note in, raising it to your ear as you listened to it ring.
“Hello?” You whispered, cupping your hand around your mouth to avoid detection.
Silence.
“Vernon?”
The sound of shuffling from the other line reached your ears. “You didn’t think I was just going to leave without saying goodbye, right?”
“Vernon?”
“Actually, pretend I didn’t say that.”
Your heart puttered to a stop.
“When can I see you again?”
I am a slut for Hurt/comfort first “I love you” 🥺🫶🏼
Hope you’re having a fantastic day 🥰
Sorry this took FOREVER, but I hope you like it!
(I’ll post on AO3 after I've had some sleep)
----
"You could always come along. Half naked men are relevant to your interests these days." Eddie teased and Buck rolled his eyes.
"There is only one man I'm interested in, and I prefer him completely naked." he grinned at Tommy who leaned over the table to kiss him.
"Likewise."
"Can someone please remind me why I'm friends with you two again?" Eddie complained.
The three of them were sat at Buck's kitchen table, grabbing a bite to eat together before Eddie and Tommy were going to another fight in Vegas.
"I saved your life." Buck reminded him around a bite of food.
"I've saved your life." Eddie shot back.
"Free babysitting."
"Well with Chris still in El Paso, I don't think I'm going to be asking for your services in that department any time soon. If ever again..."
"Chris will come around." Tommy started sincerely, but there was a grin tugging at the corners of his lips. "And I get you free tickets to fights and free helicopter flights to exclusive fights in Vegas and back. Which you could be more grateful for."
"I'm beginning to wonder if that means getting all the details on your sex life is really worth it."
"Hey, you don't have to come. I can always go with Evan and get my buddy to set us up with a nice hotel room on the strip." Tommy said turning to Buck. "The two of us, a king size bed, maybe a jacuzzi... Not leaving the room for an entire weekend..."
"And then you'll complain about about having missed the fight of the century when we get back." Buck reminded him but happily let Tommy kiss him.
"There will be other fights. A weekend in Vegas with you sounds pretty good. We could hit up the casinos. I'm pretty good at poker."
"I beat you the other day." Buck smirked.
"That was intentional." Tommy said with a wink.
"Why would you let him win?" Eddie asked, downing the last of his beer. "Why would you play with him in the first place? Mister over competitive."
"Hey!" Buck protested while Tommy just shrugged.
"I had my reasons."
Eddie narrowed his eyes.
"This is another sex thing, isn't it?" he held up his hands. "No, don't answer that. I don't want to know."
Tommy laughed and finished the last of his food.
"We should get going soon. We need to still drive over to Harbor from here."
Eddie nodded.
"But no more details about your sex life or you can go alone."
"Noted." Tommy said, getting up and putting their dirty dishes in the sink. "Don't bother with those ok? We can do them together tomorrow." he told Buck.
"Sure. You coming back here after then?"
Tommy smiled.
"If you want me to."
Buck stood up and wrapped his arms around Tommy's neck.
"I want you to. I don't care how late it gets, I want you here. And you better wake me up if I'm asleep."
"I'm not making any promises in that department. But I'll promise I'll be there when you wake up. Deal?"
Buck pretended to think it over.
"I guess I can live with that." he joked and the two of them shared another kiss, getting lost in the moment until Eddie loudly cleared his throat.
"Come on Tomás, we have a flight to catch."
Tommy reluctantly stepped out of Buck's embrace.
"The flight is me." he glanced at his watch. "But yeah we should get going." he shrugged on his jacket, grabbed his phone and keys, and with one more quick kiss and a promise to see Buck later, he followed Eddie out the door.
Buck sighed.
As much as he liked the fact that his boyfriend and best friend got on so well, he wouldn't have exactly hated it to spend his night off with said boyfriend instead of watching TV on his own.
He'd only known Tommy for a couple of months but it was getting harder and harder to remember what his life was like without him in it. He didn't particularly want to either.
Just thinking about Tommy made him smile like a teenager with a crush, but lately he was starting to feel like this thing between them was getting more serious. A deeper connection. Not just sex or romantic dates but also being content to just exist in each other's space.
Like spending the night watching the latest movie Tommy insisted he had to watch or trying out a new recipe with Tommy sitting at his kitchen table, keeping him company and being his guinea pig.
It felt a lot like love.
He was pretty sure Tommy felt the same, even if they hadn't actually said it yet.
He really wanted to though, but he was still waiting for that perfect moment. Maybe he'd tell him when they woke up together in the morning.
He smiled to himself as he scrolled through his DVR to find the documentary on bees he'd recorded earlier that week and got comfortable on the sofa as he hit play.
The documentary was interesting enough but still his mind kept wandering. He tried to remember the names of the guys fighting so he could check the score, when his phone suddenly rang in his hand.
He frowned at the screen, not recognising the number. He debated letting it go to voicemail but his curiosity got the better of him.
"Hello?"
"Hello, is this Evan Buckley?"
"Yes, this is Evan Buckley... Who is this?"
"My name is Laura Greenwood, I'm a nurse at Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre, and I'm calling you on behalf of Edmundo Diaz. I have you listed as his emergency contact, is that correct?"
"Yes, yes that is correct. What's going on? Is Eddie in hospital?"
"Mister Diaz has just been brought in following a car accident."
"A what?! Is he ok?"
"His injuries are non life threatening as far as I've been told." the nurse told him in a practised calm voice. "Are you able to come to the hospital?"
"Uh yes, yes I'm on my way." Buck told her, rushing around his loft to grab his stuff and put his shoes on. "Wait... Was there anyone else brought in with him? Is there a Thomas Kinard with him? Was he admitted too?"
"I'm afraid I can't tell you that sir. When you get here you can go straight to the ER and they'll take you to see mister Diaz. Perhaps he will be able to tell you more about any other passengers involved in the accident."
The drive to the hospital was a blur. Eddie was in a car accident... but he'd been in a car with Tommy. They'd taken his truck. So what did that mean for Tommy? Had someone crashed into them? Was Tommy alright? Was he even still alive?
He all but threw his Jeep in the first available parking space he came across, and only just remembered to take the keys out of the ignition and lock it.
The hospital was outside the 118's jurisdiction, so he wasn't as familiar with it as some of the others in the city, but he found the ER with ease after making himself follow the signs.
"But was there a Thomas Kinard brought in too?" he tried with the nurse who was taking him to see Eddie.
"Are you next of kin?"
"He's my boyfriend."
The nurse nodded.
"And are you his emergency contact as well? Or listed as next of kin anywhere?"
"I... I'm... No... We've only been together a couple of months... we haven't had that conversation yet."
The nurse gave him a sympathetic look and Buck knew what she was about to say.
"I'm very sorry, but I can't give you any information if you're not next of kin."
"Right... yeah... I understand..."
"If you know who his emergency contact is, they can update you... or tell us it's ok to tell you."
"C-can... I know you're not allowed to give me any details but... is he here? Is he alive?" Buck tried. "Please. I just need to know he's alive."
The nurse looked at him for a minute, weighing her options, then started typing on a tablet.
"Kinard? K-I-N-A-R-D?"
"That's right."
"He's here." She confirmed. "He's alive. They're working on him. That's all I can tell you, I'm sorry." She started walking again, and Buck had to jog a few steps to catch up with her when his brain had managed to process the information she'd given him.
The nurse pulled open a curtain around a bed and Eddie looked up from the magazine he was flicking through. He looked a little banged up but mostly in one piece.
"Mister Diaz, there's someone here to see you." she stepped aside and Buck made himself walk up to the bed and greet his best friend.
"What happened?" he asked after the nurse had left them to it.
"We got t-boned by some drunk idiot in an expensive sports car." Eddie told him. "Tommy got the worst of it. Have you seen him yet? I figured he'd be higher on your list of priorities."
Buck bit his lip. He was happy to see his best friend was ok, but he couldn't help but worry about his boyfriend.
"They won't let me see him. I'm not family, I'm not his emergency contact, I'm nothing. They called me because of you... All that nurse told me is that he's alive."
Eddie gave him a sympathetic look.
"Do you know who his emergency contact is? Does he have family in LA? Siblings?"
"He was born in LA. His dad still lives in the house he grew up in... But they hate each other."
"Ok so not his dad then."
Buck shook his head.
"He also has a brother but I don't even know his name." he rubbed a hand over his face. "I don't even know the name of my boyfriend's brother." he said dejected. "What if he dies? I don't know his family, I've only met a few of his work friends at Harbor, and I don't know any of his friends outside of work. Nobody would even let me know when the funeral is. I don't even know if he would want a funeral. I barely know my own boyfriend!"
He was spiralling and well on his way to a panic attack.
"Hey, hey, calm down." Eddie did his best to snap him out of it by squeezing his shoulder and making him look at him. "Tommy is not going to die ok? He's the one that called 911 after the accident. He had a head wound and they had to cut him out of the car because his leg got pinned. But he was bitching about his truck getting ruined and how it would take him ages to get it back in working order so he was definitely conscious when they got him out. "
Buck made himself take a few deep breaths to compose himself. Tommy worrying about his car was good. That meant he was awake and conscious enough to know what was happening.
"What kind of head wound? Was it bad?"
"Not as bad as it could have been." Eddie told him after a beat and Buck knew he was choosing his words carefully so he wouldn't freak him out. A move straight from the LAFD handbook.
"What does that even mean? There was no brain matter on the airbag?"
Eddie rolled his eyes at his friend's dramatics.
"The idiot hit Tommy's side pretty hard. Almost flipped us over. We got knocked around the car pretty bad and he hit his head on... something. I don't know, it all happened really fast."
Buck nodded and just about managed to stop himself from shaking Eddie to give him more details.
"I think I passed out for a few minutes... because the next thing I remember is Tommy asking for my phone, well... more like demanding, because he couldn't find his." Eddie continued, scrunching up his face trying to remember more details. "I think he used my phone to call 911... but I don't know what happened to it." He looked around. "They haven't given me my stuff yet."
"I'll go find someone..." Buck moved to stand up but Eddie stopped him.
"The phone can wait. We need to figure out what we're going to do about Tommy."
"What do you mean what we're going to do about Tommy? I'm not family, they won't let me see him."
"I know... but maybe we can figure out a way around that. That nurse from before likes me... maybe if I flirt with her a little she'll tell me what room he's in? Or how he's doing?"
"Just how hard did you hit your head in the crash? I think you have a concussion. That's never going to work."
"Hey, I'm charming and sexy! I'm hot!"
"I've seen you puking up your guts after bad sushi and hungover and praying in Spanish on my bathroom floor after you decided to mix beer and tequila. You are neither charming or sexy."
"Well you try it then! Or maybe one of the male nurses will be easier to persuade."
"I'm not going to flirt with a guy to get info on my boyfriend!" Buck said exasperated and stood up. "I'm just going to calmly talk to the nurses again and explain the situation... maybe they can tell me who his emergency contact is. Maybe it's his brother and I can introduce myself and he can tell me how Tommy is doing."
Eddie mumbled something under his breath but Buck ignored him and went in search for someone who could tell him more about Tommy.
He was almost at the nurses station when he heard a familiar name.
"I'm here for Thomas Kinard. I got a call he was in an accident."
"Are you family?"
"I might as well be." Buck had a clear view of the man now but he didn't recognise him. "I'm his emergency contact. You called me."
"Name?"
"Sal Deluca. Salvatore."
The nurse typed something on her computer.
"He was in a car accident. Suspected fractured pelvis, head laceration, suspected broken ribs and open tibia fracture, as well as suspected ruptured spleen. He's in surgery now." She told the man. "You can take a seat here and someone will come update you when they can."
The man looked like he wanted to argue with the nurse but apparently decided it wasn't worth it and just sat down on a nearby chair and took his phone out of his pocket. He tapped the screen and put the phone up to his ear.
"Hey, it's me." he paused to listen. "No I haven't seen him yet. He's in surgery. Pretty banged up. He's gonna need help when he gets out. We can't let him go back to his place on his own." Another pause. "I don't know, Gina." A slight irritation in his voice. "We'll figure it out when the time comes." another pause and a sigh. "Yeah. I'll call you when I know more. Yeah. Love you too. Bye."
Buck watched him put his phone away and sit back in the chair. It was now or never. He took a deep breath and walked up to the man.
"Hi... uhm... you don't know me but...-"
"Look, man, let me stop you there. If you're the one that hit my buddy and want to clear your conscience now or something, don't bother, I'm not interested. He'll probably forgive you when he's awake, because he's an idiot like that, but don't come to me with that shit."
"What? No. Tha-that's not... I'm Evan Buckley. Tommy is my boyfriend."
The man sat up.
"You're Evan?"
"Yes... Has Tommy mentioned me?"
"Yeah. Hasn't stopped talking about you for the past few months. I feel like I know you better than my own wife by now."
"Oh... I uh... h-he hasn't told me a-about you..." Buck stammered.
"Of course not." The man rolled his eyes. "We've been friends for over 20 years, he's my both daughters' godfather, but he won't tell his new boyfriend about me." he continued sarcastically. "I guess he just wanted to make sure you're not an asshole like the last idiot he dated. Andrew really fucked him up."
"Y-yeah..." Buck agreed, not wanting to let on he didn't have a clue who Andrew was.
The man stood up and offered Buck his hand.
"I'm Sal. Were you in there with him?"
"No, my best friend was. They were going to Vegas to watch a fight." Buck explained and filled him in on the details.
Sal turned out to be easy enough to talk to once he'd decided Buck was alright, and the two of them talked about Tommy, the job, the 118, and the grudge Sal still held against Bobby.
After some time, a tired looking doctor came to update them on Tommy's condition and a nurse took them up to the floor so they could see him.
"One visitor at a time." she warned them.
"You go first." Buck told Sal who shook his head and pushed him towards the door.
"He's not going to want to see me, trust me. You go sit with him, I'll go update my wife."
Buck wanted to protest but Sal was already walking away and tapping his phone screen. He looked through the little window in the door and saw Tommy, looking way too small and frail for a man his size.
His leg was in a cast and there were various bandages around his head and body. He glanced at the monitor beside the bed and watched the lines move with Tommy's heartbeat before gently opening the door and going in.
He grabbed the chair from the corner of the room and sat down as close to the bed he could get. He watched Tommy's chest rise and fall with each breath and carefully took his hand in his.
"Hey... You scared the shit out of me..." he said softly. "I got the call about Eddie and I jumped in my car right away... And Eddie's fine, he'll be alright... But they wouldn't tell me anything about you. I didn't even know if you were alive." He brought Tommy's hand to his lips and brushed a kiss over the knuckles. "When you get out of here, we need to talk." he said and winced at how it sounded. "Not... not like that. I'm not breaking up with you. I just... our jobs are dangerous you know. And next time you get injured on the job... or just... anything happens to you... I want to know what happened. I want to be able to come see you without Eddie thinking he can flirt with a nurse and convince her to let me." He laughed a little. "You know that would never have worked."
The next few hours went by in a blur. Tommy woke up a few times but was way too out of it to have anything resembling a conversation, Sal dipped in and out of the room, and even Eddie had come by to check on Tommy.
The hours turned into days, and the days turned into a week. Tommy's condition had improved enough for him to be moved onto a regular ward and for the dose of the heavy painkillers to be lowered so he was awake for longer periods of time and more aware of what was happening around him.
And also getting more and more annoyed by the fact he couldn't move around as freely as he'd like, practically begging the nurses to get him a pair of crutches even if he was nowhere near well enough for that.
"Hey there sleeping beauty, welcome back to the land of the living. If you wanted to see me that badly, you could have just picked up the phone, you know? You didn't have to crash your car." Sal joked when he walked back into Tommy's room after updating his wife and checking in at work on day 8.
"You know me, always had a flair for the dramatic." Tommy replied and gave him a tired smile. "How are the girls? Evan said you went to call Gina."
"They're fine. Torey wants to come see her uncle T but we talked her down to facetime when you're feeling better."
"Yeah... when these bruises clear up... and the stitches come out. Or can be covered up somehow. I don't want to scare her." Tommy said, gesturing to his head. He was looking a whole lot better than when he'd first been brought in but the bruises were only just starting to fade.
"She's seen you first thing in the morning before you've had your coffee, she can handle a couple of bruises."
Buck sat back and let the two of them talk. He'd gotten to know Sal a little over the past week or so and he liked the guy. Even if he was still kind of intimidated by him.
But it was clear he cared about Tommy and Buck was happy Tommy had a best friend like him. Someone who would drop everything to be there for him. Someone who would always have his back.
Though it was also frustrating that between Sal, the hospital staff, Tommy's crew from Harbor, and various members of the 118, Buck had barely had a moment alone with him.
And he didn't need an audience for what he wanted to tell him.
"I promised Torey I'd take her up to see the lights."
"So save it for her next birthday." Sal argued and Buck realised he'd zoned out and didn't have a clue what they were talking about. "Or wait until she turns 21 and take her to Vegas."
"Oh sure. 'happy birthday sweetheart, you'll get your present in 11 years' I'm sure she'll understand." Tommy said sarcastically and Sal laughed.
"You know she'll remember. And then Bella will want to go too when she turns 21. So you better make sure you get back in that chopper so you can take my girls to Vegas when they're old enough."
Tommy groaned.
"When Isabella is 21, I'll be..." he shook his head. "I don't want to think about that."
Sal sat back in his chair.
"They grow up way too fast." he settled on. "Feels like only yesterday that she couldn't even wrap her little hand all the way around my finger, and now she's talking about inviting boys to her birthday party."
Buck did his best to focus on the conversation, even if he didn't know Sal's family, but he kept zoning out and his eyelids were getting heavy. He hadn't exactly had a good night's sleep at Tommy's bedside, and now the worst seemed to be behind them, the lack of sleep was starting to catch up to him.
"Evan." someone squeezed his hand. "Evan, hey, wake up."
"Wha-what?" he blinked the sleep from his eyes and sat up straighter. "I'm here, I'm awake. I'm here. Are you ok?" he searched Tommy's face for any sign of discomfort or even pain."
"I'm ok. But you just fell asleep sitting up. Why don't you go home to get some rest. in an actual bed."
Buck frowned.
"I'm not leaving you. I'm fine. I just... closed my eyes for a second. I'm fine now, I promise."
"You sound like my daughter when she doesn't want to go to bed." Sal cut in. "She's 8. And I usually pick her up and throw her over my shoulder and take her to bed anyway. So don't try me, Buckley."
Tommy laughed a little but then turned serious.
"Evan, you're exhausted. Why don't you call Howie to take you home. Just for a couple of hours." he pleaded. "I've got Sal here to keep me company, and all these wires stuck to me so they can make sure I'm alright... I'm ok now, I promise. It's your turn to rest now."
"I'm fine." Buck insisted. "I'll get a coffee from the machine later. I'm fine."
"Evan..."
"Tommy, I love you, but please stop trying to get me to leave. I'm not leaving until you are." Buck told him, and brushed a kiss over Tommy's knuckles to emphasise his point.
"Ev... I... You... Did you... mean... that...?"
"I'm not leaving you."
"Not that... the... other thing..."
"The other thing?" Buck mumbled and tried to replay the last part of their conversation in his mind. Tommy, I love you. "Oh... t-that... I..."
"It's ok. You don't have to explain. You're exhausted, I get it. It's fine." Tommy rambled.
"No, I... I... did.. do... mean it. I just... didn't... realise?"
"I'm going to... go buy some cigarettes." Sal said and got up, grabbing his jacket from the back of the chair.
"You don't smoke." Tommy pointed out.
"I'll start." Sal replied and left the room, closing the door behind him and leaving the two men alone.
"Are you cold? Do you want me to fluff up your pillow? Do you want some water? Do you want me to go so you can sleep?" Buck rambled, fussing with Tommy's blanket.
"Evan... tell me... did you mean it? It's fine if you didn't. I can handle it. Just tell me. It's alright. We're just having fun, right? You didn't sign up for all of this. It's fine. You can just go. I'll call you when I'm better. Maybe we can go to that club you found online the other day. I mean, it's gonna be a while before I can dance again but... -"
"Tommy!" Buck interrupted. "Shut up. Please." he carefully sat down on the bed next to Tommy's hip and put his hand on his uninjured leg. "I did mean it. I just... didn't mean to just blurt it out like that. I wanted to make it romantic. Maybe a candlelit meal at home. Some music playing in the background, maybe a nice glass of wine... and then I'd take your hand..." he paused to do just that. "And I'd look into your eyes. And I'd tell you that these past few months have been amazing, That you have been amazing. That you make me happier than I ever thought I could be." he carefully leaned in to press a kiss to Tommy's lips. "And then I'd tell you I love you. I love you so much. And then in a perfect world, you'd say it back and we'd have the best night of our lives."
Tommy smiled.
"That sounds amazing. And I love you too."
"You do?"
"Yeah. It's kind of scary... I've never felt this way about anyone before... and definitely not this quickly... but yeah, yes I do love you Evan."
Buck leaned in for another kiss.
"I really wish we could do more right now. I wish I could hold you." he gently ran his hand up and down Tommy's good arm.
"I know... Me too."
"When you get out of here, I'm going to cook for you. All of your favourite foods. I even found a recipe for spumoni online and I'm going to make it for you." Buck promised. "It probably won't be as good as your grandma's, though, but I’ll settle for second place." he joked.
"I'm sure I'll love it. Because I love you."
"I love you too." Buck replied. "And I could really get used to hearing you say that."
"Good thing I'm planning on saying it a lot then."
Walking away.
★Michael Kaiser x GN Reader (Angst)
★910 words
The house was cold. It felt colder than it ever had, or maybe that was just me. Sitting in the dimly lit kitchen, I traced the rim of the glass on the table, my eyes fixed on the ticking clock. He was late. Again. No text, no call, no nothing. I had told myself I’d wait. Just this one last time. And now, the wait was over as I heard the door click open.
I fucking hate you.
My heart skipped a beat, but I didn’t look up. His familiar footsteps echoed through the silent house as he approached my steady figure.
I don’t want to see you ever again.
“Why do you look so mad today?” he asked, a faint, lazy smile tugging at his lips as he stood in the doorway.
He’s so adorable, he looks like a lost puppy.
I stood up abruptly, my chair scraping against the floor. My anger simmered to a boil, and my grip tightened around the glass. I slammed it onto the table, the sound sharp and loud, startling even myself.
But he’s destroying me.
“You’re late again. And you didn’t even care to text me again,” I said, each word sharper than the last.
He chuckled lightly, brushing it off like he always did. “Don’t be childish again. You know I never look up the time when I’m out.”
You would if you loved me, with your stupid, stupid laugh.
His indifference felt like a slap to the face. My throat tightened as I tried to form the words I had rehearsed all day.
Why do you not care, please care.
“Michael, I… we…” My voice faltered. The weight of what I was about to say crushed me, but I forced myself to finish. “We’re over.”
But I don’t want it to be.
His smile faltered, but only for a moment. Then his expression returned to that same irritating calmness, his hands casually sliding into his pockets.
You’re my everything.
“You don’t mean it,” he said, his voice low but steady.
I don’t, but it’s for the best, you’re better off without me and I’m tired of hurting.
I stepped past him, my legs shaking as I made my way toward the staircase to grab my luggage.
Please just hug me.
“You won’t find anyone better than me,” he added, his tone colder now, sharper.
I paused, my breath catching in my throat. Without looking back, I replied, “Maybe. But at least I’ll find someone who cares.”
Did I say that out loud? I don’t even want someone else.
“Y/N—”
“No,” I cut him off. “You don’t get to do this to me anymore.”
Shut up just shut up already.
His voice wavered for the first time. “You don’t mean it,” he said again, softer this time.
Stop it..
I turned, our eyes meeting for what I knew would be the last time. “Goodbye, Michael.”
Why do you have to be like this.
His lips parted as if he wanted to say something, but instead, all that escaped was a resigned, bitter, “Good luck, then.”
Is that all? Michael? Please say we’ll meet again, tell me that you love me, please.. Michael I love you so much.
The house was silent as I walked out the door, leaving him behind. It felt suffocatingly empty, the once-warm walls now icy and hollow. The air was heavy, still, like the house itself mourned the fracture.
Inside, Michael stood frozen in place. His mind raced, but his body refused to move. Slowly, he made his way to the couch and collapsed onto it, his head falling into his hands. His fingers traced the tattoo on his neck, a nervous habit that betrayed the emotions he worked so hard to suppress.
The silence pressed against him. He replayed the fight in his head, over and over, dissecting every word, every pause.
Hours passed, but it felt like minutes. Eventually, he stumbled into bed, fully dressed. He lay there, staring at the ceiling. His arms spread out beside him, and the emptiness of the bed—the space where you had always been—was deafening.
“They’ll come back,” he told himself, though the words felt hollow. He repeated it like a mantra until the dark hours of the night.
His phone sat on the nightstand, screen glowing faintly. He opened your chat, his fingers trembling as he typed.
I’m sorry.
The words stared back at him, taunting him. He hovered over the send button for what felt like forever. But his pride held him back, as it always did.
With a frustrated sigh, he deleted the message and set the phone back down. He couldn’t sleep. He couldn’t even think straight. For the first time, the weight of what he had lost began to sink in.
The house remained cold and empty, just like him. Just like me, deleting my message too, turning off my phone and wondering if fate would ever bring us together again.
Shamefully hoping it would.
Should I make a part2 of this ?? It broke my heart too badly lmaoo, but anyways hiiii thank you for the love I tried a new style for this writing, hope you like it as much as the previous ones !! This is my 10th fanfiction on Kaiser also, maybe next time I'll do comforting headcanons I have for him for a particular situation :P
jason todd smut
sugardaddy! jason todd x bunny! reader
mentions of size difference, choking, breeding kink, degradation
“you’re so good to me bun,” jason grunted as his thrusts became harder, his large hands encircling the whole of your hips occasionally squeezing the soft flesh there. you and jason had just came back from a shopping trip, which obviously he paid for with his black amex. though on one condition, he got to fuck you for as long and hard as he wanted. you agreed obviously, there is nothing better than coming back from a large shopping spree and having a thick cock shoved inside your tight cunt.
you couldn’t help but to let a pathetic whine, your tiny body clinging onto his muscular one. “i know bun, i know,” he cooed softly, giving you a small kiss on the forehead before continuing to bully your cunt. jason was in a good mood, which meant he would let you come, if he wasn’t he would’ve edged you to the point of passing out. “gosh you are milking me,” he groaned, seeing how well your small tight cunt took him, gripping him.
“‘m gonna buy you all the pretty little dresses and lingerie you want yeah?” he grunted, “need to dress my bunny up.” jason loved dressing you up, in the tiniest dresses and skimpy lacy lingerie in bed. “how about i swell this little belly up, hm?” he grinned, the sight of you round and plump of his kids made his mind go haywire. you nodded eagerly, the thought of being filled with his cum and then carrying his kids was too much, god he would probably spoil you even more. “i’ll buy you all the things you want bun, push presents, pretty dresses to fit your new round body and all the toys for our kids.”
“this little desperate cunt loves me hm?” he teased, before rubbing his thumb over your clit, which resulted in a series of pathetic whines and moans. “my pretty little slut,” he grunted before slapping your clit harshly, which resulted a gasp from you. “your slutty little pussy loves me,” he spat out harshly before his thrusts deepened. “taking my fat cock like it’s nothing.”
jason in bed was something you’ve never seen before, the casual man who would take you shopping and paid for it without hesitation whilst giving you princess treatment and pampering you was gone. replaced by a man who was rough and dominant, and god you loved it.
“maybe i should get you a choker,” he grunted, “so everyone you are mine,” one of his hands slipped from your waist to your neck, squeezing it slightly. “guess my hand will have to do.” you couldn’t help but to moan a little louder, he knew you had a thing for be choked.
at this point you were nothing but a toy, you were pinned down merciless whilst he drilled down on you. saliva dribbled out of the corner of your mouth whilst he kissed your neck. “did i fuck you dumb, sweet thing?” he cooed, before grabbing your chin forcing you to look at him. “you were acting like a bunny in heat prancing around with nothing on but the small sleep dress on.”
it was true, you were never one to fully initiate sex, doing small things like nudging him shyly, or tugging him to the bedroom. you didn’t have the courage to boldly initiate it like he did. hence why you opted for the tiny sleep dress with no panties. it was enough to capture his attention after a long shopping day, with the excuse of trying everything you bought. jason had caught on, obviously, not taking long before he dragged you back into his room and currently had your knees shoved up to your chest. “fuck bun, ‘m gonna fill that pretty cunt if yours is that ok?”
you nodded eagerly, mumbling and babbling words to show your excitement, “p-please jay,” you whined as you clung into his neck. “‘m close too,” you added. your tight cunt was making the most lewd squelching noises, your slick coming out with his fat cock. “let’s come together yeah bun?”
it was a matter of seconds before he filled your pussy up, the warm sticky liquid spurting in, whilst you squirted. he chucked seeing the squirt on his abs, “making a mess already?” he grinned wiping it with one of his fingers before shoving it deep into your mouth. “be a good bun and clean it up,” making you gag on his fingers, coating it with your saliva.
steve: if i let you sit in my lap, are you going to behave, or are you going to squirm around and try to make me hard so i’ll fuck you the way you want? be honest—be honest.
you, who’s going to squirm around and try to make him hard so he’ll fuck you the way you want: 😇 aren’t you always saying it’s better not to say anything than to lie?
2020, BARCELONA
Marc sat in the living room, his elbow propped on the armrest of the couch, his chin resting on his hand. The television flickered in front of him, muted, but he wasn’t paying attention. His thoughts were elsewhere, heavy with concern for his daughter. The Camila he knew—the vibrant, lively young girl who filled their home with laughter—was a shadow of herself now. Ever since she had returned from Michigan, she had locked herself away in her room, only emerging when absolutely necessary. And even then, her presence was fleeting.
Valeria entered the room, wiping her hands on a kitchen towel. She paused when she saw Marc’s distant expression and sat beside him, placing a gentle hand on his arm.
“¿Qué pasa, amor?” she asked softly, tilting her head to meet his gaze. “You’ve been quiet all day.”
Marc let out a heavy sigh. “It’s Camila. I’m worried about her, Valeria. She’s been in her room all day again. She barely eats. She barely talks. I don’t know how to help her.”
Valeria nodded slowly, her lips pressed together in a tight line. She had been watching their daughter retreat further into herself since their return to Barcelona. At first, she thought it was just the shock of the breakup, but weeks had passed, and Camila’s sadness had not lessened. If anything, it seemed to grow heavier with time.
“lo sé,” Valeria said gently. “She’s hurting, Marc. The breakup with Quinn… it’s not something she’s handling well. But she’s so young. She doesn’t know how to process all of this.”
Marc leaned back, running a hand through his hair. “I just… I don’t want to lose her to this sadness. She’s barely herself anymore. I tried talking to her, but she just shuts me out. Maybe you’ll have better luck.”
Valeria sat quietly for a moment, thinking. Then, she stood up with purpose, her expression soft but determined. “Hablaré con ella. But first, I’ll make her something to eat. Maybe a warm meal will help her open up.”
Marc nodded, grateful for his wife’s unshakable intuition when it came to their family. “Thank you, my dear.”
She gave him a small smile and headed toward the kitchen. In moments like this, Valeria knew that actions often spoke louder than words. Her daughter needed comfort, not lectures. And nothing brought comfort like food made with love.
Valeria moved quickly, preparing a comforting meal: sopa de fideos, a simple Spanish noodle soup that always reminded her of home. As the warm aroma of simmering broth filled the kitchen, Valeria felt a spark of hope. Maybe this small gesture could begin to ease the weight pressing on her daughter’s heart.
When the soup was ready, Valeria ladled it into a bowl and placed it on a tray alongside a small plate of sliced bread. She carried the tray down the hall, pausing outside Camila’s room. The door was closed, as it always was these days. Valeria knocked softly.
“Camila, soy mamá,” she called gently. “Can I come in?”
There was a long pause, and for a moment, Valeria thought she wouldn’t get an answer. But then, a faint voice came from the other side. “Come in.”
Valeria pushed the door open and stepped inside. The room was dim, the curtains drawn tightly shut. Camila was curled up on the bed, her back against the headboard, wearing an oversized hoodie that swallowed her small frame. Her hair was unbrushed, her eyes red and tired. A laptop sat beside her, forgotten.
“Hola, mi amor,” Valeria said softly, her heart aching at the sight of her daughter. She placed the tray on the bedside table and sat on the edge of the bed. “I made you some sopa de fideos.”
Camila glanced at the tray but didn’t move. “Thanks, mamá,” she said quietly, her voice hoarse from lack of use.
Valeria reached out to brush a strand of hair from Camila’s face. “You haven’t eaten much lately, mija. You need to take care of yourself. Even if you’re feeling sad, your body still needs you to be kind to it.”
Camila lowered her gaze, her fingers picking at the edge of her hoodie. “I’m sorry,” she whispered. “I just… I don’t have much of an appetite.”
Valeria sighed softly and moved closer, placing a comforting hand on her daughter’s knee. “Camila, I know you’re going through a lot right now. And I know the breakup with Quinn has been hard for you. Pero quiero que sepas algo, mi niña—you are not alone. We’re here for you. I’m here for you.”
Camila’s lip trembled, and tears welled in her eyes. “I feel like I ruined everything, mamá. Quinn was so good to me, and I just… I let him go. I pushed him away. What if I made the biggest mistake of my life?”
Valeria’s eyes softened, and she pulled Camila into a gentle hug. “Ay, mi amor, no digas eso. You made the decision you thought was right for you at the time. That doesn’t make you a bad person. Relationships are complicated, and sometimes, even love isn’t enough to make things work.”
“But I still love him,” Camila admitted, her voice breaking. “And now it’s too late. I can’t take it back. I can’t fix it.”
Valeria pulled back to look into her daughter’s eyes, her hands resting on Camila’s shoulders. “Escúchame, Camila. Life isn’t about looking back and wondering ‘what if.’ It’s about moving forward, even when it’s hard. You have to forgive yourself, mija. Holding on to guilt will only weigh you down.”
Camila nodded slowly, her tears spilling over as she leaned back into her mother’s embrace. For a long moment, they sat in silence, the only sound the faint hum of the house around them.
After a while, Valeria spoke again, her tone lighter. “You know, Isabel called earlier. She and some of the family are coming over for dinner tonight. I thought it might be nice to have everyone together. And guess what I’m making?”
Camila pulled back slightly, wiping her eyes. “What?”
“Seafood paella,” Valeria said with a small smile. “Your favorite.”
A flicker of light returned to Camila’s face, and for the first time in weeks, she smiled—just a little, but it was there. “Really?”
“Sí, really,” Valeria said, her voice teasing. “I thought it might cheer you up a little. You’ve always loved it when we make paella together, remember?”
Camila nodded, the memory of family dinners and laughter filling her mind. “Thanks, mamá.”
Valeria cupped her daughter’s cheek, her thumb brushing away the remnants of her tears. “That’s my girl. Now, eat some soup, take a shower, and get ready to see everyone. Poco a poco, mija. One step at a time.”
Camila gave another small nod, her heart feeling just a little lighter. As her mother left the room, she looked at the bowl of soup on the tray. It wasn’t just food—it was love, warmth, and hope, served in the simplest way.
For a moment, she felt like she could take a breath. Maybe the road to healing wouldn’t be so impossible after all. Maybe, just maybe, she could find her way back to herself.
And for the first time in a long while, she allowed herself to believe it.
⋆˙⟡
The warm afternoon sun dipped low in the sky, casting a golden glow over the backyard. The faint hum of conversation and laughter drifted from the patio, where family members gathered, enjoying Valeria’s cooking. The earlier tension that had clouded the house seemed to have lifted, replaced by a soothing sense of togetherness.
Camila sat on the edge of the pool, her feet submerged in the cool water, watching Isabel swim a lazy lap. Her childhood best friend had arrived earlier that evening with her usual boundless energy, enveloping Camila in a tight hug the moment she walked through the door. The embrace had been a balm for Camila’s weary heart, a reminder that there were people who still saw her, who still cared.
“¡Vamos, Mila!” Isabel called, splashing water in her direction. “Don’t just sit there. Get in!”
Camila rolled her eyes, a small smile playing on her lips. Isabel always had a way of lightening her mood, even when she didn’t feel like smiling. “I just got in five minutes ago, Isa. Give me a break.”
“You call that swimming?” Isabel teased, pulling herself up to sit beside Camila. Her dark curls were dripping wet, and her cheeks were flushed from the heat. “I thought you’d have more stamina after living in the U.S. for so long.”
Camila gave her a playful shove, laughing softly. It felt good to laugh, even if it was just for a moment. “I didn’t spend all my time swimming in Michigan, you know.”
“No?” Isabel asked, her tone curious. “Then what did you do over there? You’ve barely told me anything since you got back.”
Camila hesitated, her smile faltering for a brief second. She had been so consumed by her emotions that she hadn’t even thought about catching up with Isabel. But now, sitting beside her oldest friend, the weight on her chest felt just a little lighter. Maybe it was time to share, to let someone in.
“Well,” Camila began, dipping her toes into the water. “I studied at the University of Michigan. That’s where I met most of my friends, and there was that one guy, Quinn.”
Isabel perked up at the mention of a name. “Quinn? Don’t tell me you’ve been keeping a secret boyfriend from me all this time.”
Camila let out a quiet laugh, though there was a bittersweet edge to it. “He’s… my ex, actually. We were together for a while.”
Isabel’s eyes widened, and she turned to face Camila fully, leaning forward with curiosity. “Ex? Espera, espera, start from the beginning. I need all the details. What was he like? How did you meet?”
Camila took a deep breath, her gaze fixed on the rippling water in front of her. The memories of Quinn felt distant yet vivid, like a dream she couldn’t quite shake. “We met through some mutual friends at a lake house. He was—he is—an amazing guy. Kind, funny, hardworking. And he plays hockey, professionally. That was his whole world.”
Isabel whistled, impressed. “A hockey player, huh? Sounds dreamy. So what happened?”
Camila bit her lip, her heart squeezing at the question. For a moment, she wasn’t sure if she could talk about it. But then she glanced at Isabel, who was watching her with genuine concern and interest. If there was anyone she could trust with this, it was Isabel.
“It just… didn’t work out,” Camila said softly, her voice tinged with regret. “We were young, and we weren’t there anymore. He was so focused on his career, and I didn’t know where I fit into all of that. I felt like I was holding him back. And he deserved someone who could support him fully, someone who wouldn’t feel… lost.”
Isabel frowned, her brows knitting together. “But what about you? What did you want?”
Camila looked down at her hands, her fingers trailing through the water. “I don’t know, Isa. Back then, I thought I was doing the right thing—for both of us. But now… now I wonder if I made a mistake. If maybe I should’ve fought harder for us.”
Isabel reached out and placed a comforting hand on Camila’s shoulder. “Mila, you can’t blame yourself for how things turned out. It sounds like you were trying to do what was best for both of you. And honestly? That takes a lot of strength.”
Camila nodded, though her chest still felt heavy. After a moment, she spoke again, her voice quieter. “He wasn’t just my boyfriend, Isa. He was my first… everything.”
Isabel’s brows lifted in understanding, and she didn’t say anything, letting Camila continue at her own pace.
“My first boyfriend. My first kiss. My first… time,” Camila admitted, her cheeks flushing slightly as she said the words. “He was the first person I ever really let in. And I trusted him with all of it. That’s what makes it so hard, Isa. Letting him go felt like letting go of a part of myself.”
Isabel’s expression softened, her teasing demeanor replaced by genuine care. “Oh, Camila… that’s a lot to process. No wonder it’s been so hard for you. But you know what? Your firsts don’t define you. They’re just part of your story. And even if Quinn was your first everything, that doesn’t mean he has to be your last.”
Camila smiled faintly, her heart warming at Isabel’s words. “Gracias, Isa. I needed to hear that.”
“Anytime,” Isabel said, flashing her a bright grin. Then, with a mischievous glint in her eye, she added, “But seriously, a professional hockey player? You’ve been holding out on me. Was he cute?”
Camila laughed, the sound genuine and light. “Yes, he was cute. Extremely cute.”
“lo sabía!” Isabel exclaimed, clapping her hands together. “And let me guess—he had that whole ‘brooding athlete’ vibe, right? Like, quiet but secretly sweet?”
Camila shook her head, still laughing. “Not exactly. He was more of the steady, dependable type. Always there when you needed him.”
Isabel sighed dramatically. “Ugh, why do all the good ones have to be in another country? You’ve ruined me, Mila. Now I’ll never settle for less.”
Camila rolled her eyes but couldn’t stop smiling.
“Well,” Isabel said, standing up and stretching, “perfect or not, it sounds like he was important to you. And that’s what matters. But you know what else matters? Living your life, aquí y ahora. So how about we stop moping and actually swim? I didn’t come here to sit around!”
Camila laughed again, feeling lighter than she had in weeks. “Fine, fine. Let’s swim.”
The two of them dove into the pool, the cool water washing away the lingering heaviness in Camila’s chest. And as Isabel splashed her playfully, laughing and shouting, Camila realized something: maybe moving on didn’t mean forgetting. Maybe it just meant learning to carry the memories with grace.
For now, that was enough.
2020, MICHIGAN
The sound of skates slicing across ice echoed through the empty arena, accompanied by the rhythmic thud of a puck against the boards. Quinn weaved through the neutral zone with practiced ease, his movements sharp and deliberate, though his mind was elsewhere. Across the rink, Jack and Luke passed the puck back and forth, exchanging bursts of laughter as they tried to outmaneuver each other.
It was supposed to be a casual skate, just the three of them blowing off steam after weeks of busy schedules. But for Quinn, it felt more like a futile attempt to distract himself from the gnawing ache in his chest. No matter how many laps he skated or how many shots he took, his thoughts always circled back to her.
It had been weeks—months, really—since the breakup, but the pain lingered like a dull bruise. Every once in a while, it would flare up, sharp and insistent, reminding him of what he’d lost. Today was one of those days.
“Quinn!” Jack’s voice snapped him out of his reverie. “You good?”
Quinn blinked, realizing he had drifted to a stop near the blue line, his stick resting idly on the ice. He forced a nod, his jaw tightening. “Yeah. Just thinking.”
Jack skated over, his younger brother’s sharp eyes scanning him with concern. “You’ve been ‘just thinking’ a lot lately.” he hesitated before asking. “Is this about Cam?”
Quinn sighed, taking off his hockey glove and raking a hand through his short hair. There was no point denying it. Jack had always been perceptive when it came to him, and besides, Camila had been on his mind constantly since the day they parted ways.
“It’s nothing,” Quinn said, his voice low. “Just… wondering how she’s doing.”
Jack tilted his head, leaning on his stick. “You’re not fooling anyone, you know. Luke and I can both tell you’ve been off since the breakup.”
As if on cue, Luke skated over, his expression curious. “What’s going on?”
“Quinn’s overthinking,” Jack supplied before Quinn could answer.
“I’m not overthinking,” Quinn muttered, though the weight in his chest said otherwise.
Jack raised an eyebrow. “Okay, then what’s on your mind?”
Quinn hesitated, staring down at the ice. The breakup had been his decision as much as Camila’s. They both knew their priorities didn’t align—his relentless focus on hockey, her uncertainty about where she fit into his life. It had felt like the right choice at the time, but now, all he could think about was what might have been.
“I just keep wondering if I screwed up,” Quinn admitted finally. His voice was quiet, but the rawness in his tone made both of his brothers pause. “She deserved better than what I could give her. But… I don’t know. Maybe I should’ve tried harder. Maybe we could’ve made it work.”
Luke frowned, his brow furrowing. “You can’t beat yourself up over it, Quinn. If it wasn’t the right time, it wasn’t the right time.”
“Yeah,” Jack added, his tone more direct. “You both did what you thought was best. It’s not like you didn’t care about her.”
“I did care about her,” Quinn said, his voice heavy. “I still do.”
There was a moment of silence, broken only by the faint hum of the arena’s cooling system. Jack exchanged a glance with Luke before speaking again, his tone gentler this time. “Have you talked to her since? Like, at all?”
Quinn shook his head, a bitter smile tugging at the corners of his lips. “No. I wouldn’t even know what to say.”
“Well,” Jack said carefully, “she updated me a few weeks ago.”
Quinn’s head snapped up, his heart thudding in his chest. “What did she say?”
Jack shrugged, trying to play it casual. “Just that she’s doing well. She’s reconnecting with her old friends and family. Sounds like she’s figuring things out.”
Quinn’s chest tightened. He could picture her in Spain so vividly—her sun-kissed skin, her laughter carried on the Mediterranean breeze. It was the kind of life she deserved, one full of color and adventure. “I’m glad she’s doing well,” he said quietly. “I hope she’s happy.”
“You really mean that?” Luke asked, tilting his head.
Quinn nodded, his gaze distant. “Of course I do. I mean, it hurts, but… I want the best for her. Always.”
Jack’s expression softened, and he hesitated for a moment before speaking. “I miss her too, you know.”
Quinn turned to look at him, surprised by the admission. “Yeah?”
“Yeah,” Jack said, a small, bittersweet smile tugging at his lips. “She’s one of my best friends, Quinn. You know that. It sucks that things didn’t work out between you two, but… I miss having her around.”
Luke nodded in agreement. “She was always fun to have around. Felt like part of the family.”
Quinn’s heart ached at their words. Camila hadn’t just been a part of his life—she’d become a part of theirs too. And now, her absence was felt in more ways than one. “I miss her too,” he admitted quietly. “More than I can even explain.”
Jack clapped him on the shoulder, his grip firm but comforting. “We all do. But she’s still out there, living her life, and I’m sure she still thinks about you, Q. Just because you’re not together doesn’t mean she’s forgotten you.”
Quinn nodded, though the weight in his chest didn’t ease. “Thanks, guys.”
Jack gave him a small smile. “Anytime.”
They skated for another hour, the familiar rhythm of the game helping to clear Quinn’s mind, if only temporarily.
Later that night, after the arena lights had dimmed and the three of them had returned to the quiet of their home, the ache resurfaced.
Quinn lay in bed, staring at the ceiling as the minutes ticked by. His phone sat on the nightstand, tantalizingly close. He tried to ignore the urge, but eventually, he gave in, reaching for it and opening Instagram.
He hadn’t looked at Camila’s profile since the breakup. It felt too raw, too close. But tonight, he couldn’t help himself. His thumb hovered over her name for a moment before he tapped it, bracing himself for the flood of emotions.
Her profile picture hadn’t changed—it was still the same radiant smile he remembered so well. But it was her most recent post that caught his attention. A photo of her at the beach, the sun setting behind her as she stood barefoot in the sand. She looked effortlessly beautiful, her hair tousled by the breeze, her expression serene.
Quinn’s heart ached as he stared at the image. She looked happy—truly happy—and he wanted to believe that was enough for him. But a small part of him couldn’t help wondering if she ever thought about him, if she missed him the way he missed her.
He ran a hand over his face, exhaling slowly. This was what he wanted for her, wasn’t it? A fresh start, a chance to chase her dreams without the weight of his career holding her back. She deserved all of it and more.
But still, as he set his phone down and turned off the light, the image of her lingered in his mind. And as he drifted off to sleep, he couldn’t shake the quiet hope that, somewhere in the depths of her heart, she still held a piece of him, too.
LACY - chapter 5
Tumblr media
Paige Bueckers x oc
Warnings: internalized homophobia, mature content
A/N: I feel like alot of the last few chapters have been about Layla really struggling with coming to terms with identity/sexuality. Which I wanted to write because I wanted to show the process of really coming to terms with being queer and how it isn’t just something you immediately accept in one night, based on my own experiences personally ofc. So with that being said, I hope someone else can find comfort in her character or relates. (Also forgot to write this in, but for anyone wondering, Layla has been involved “romantically” with guys in the past, but I think it’s just a realization now for her that it was like a cover up for who she actually is, because she’s feeling emotions she’s never felt towards a man, towards a woman if that makes sense. Basically she’s gay lol hope this helps! Which like same girl) Anywayssss sorry for the rant, enjoy loves!
When I woke up, the first thing I noticed was the folded note on my bedside table.
I hope you feel better. Text me when you get up.
I exhaled slowly, the events of last night still swirling in my mind. Her low voice, her subtle touches—it made my skin crawl, the way I feel when she touches me. Even if it’s only for a second. The way it made something stir inside me that I couldn’t ignore, but couldn’t accept either.
I grabbed my phone and texted her, my fingers shaking slightly.
Me: Hey, I just woke up. Thanks for taking care of me last night. I’m sorry for being such a mess.
Her reply came quickly, almost like she’d been waiting for me.
Paige: Don’t trip. You’re good. Seriously.
Paige: You feeling better?
Me: Yeah, a little. Thanks again.
There was a short pause before her next message came through.
Paige: Can we talk? In person, if you’re not busy?
I hesitated, biting my lip. I didn’t want to see her, not right now. I’d rather save myself the embarrassment. But I couldn’t avoid it forever.
Me: Sure. You can come over if you want. I’m heading to the gym soon to practice, though.
Paige: Volleyball grind? Big game coming up, right?
Me: Yeah, it’s the regional final this weekend. If we win, we’re in the Final Four.
Paige: No pressure or anything
Me: Tell me about it lol
Paige: Can I come practice with you for fun cause why not? I won’t distract you to much I swear.
I couldn’t help but smile at the thought of her trying to play volleyball.
Me: Ok sure, if you insistttt
When Paige arrived, she was dressed in basketball shorts and a black tee, her hair pulled into a messy bun. Somehow she always looks perfect like all the time. It’s crazy actually.
We set up the net, and Paige was already messing around with the volleyball like she had no idea what she was doing. I tossed her the ball.
“Alright, ready?” I asked.
She caught it but didn’t seem to know what to do next. “Uh, sure. Can’t be too hard.”
Her first attempt was… not great to say the least. The ball went flying across the gym, and she just stood there, looking at it like it had betrayed her.
“Okay, so let’s just act like you didn’t see that,” she said, laughing at herself.
I couldn’t help but laugh too, the tension easing just a little. “Maybe try not to hit it like you’re dunking a basketball.”
“Yo I didn’t sign up for this kind of slander, not to much on me,” she said with a grin. “But fine, I’ll try again.”
We kept going, and she got a little better—or at least, less terrible. But I couldn’t focus. My mind kept drifting back to last night, what I asked her in a drunken haze. How awkward it feels that I got drunk and slipped into a vulnerable state where I felt comfortable enough to ask her how she knew she was gay. Like come on Layla, why do you always have to make shit weird.
I tried to push it out of my mind, but when she stood beside me, her shoulder brushing mine as we took a break, I felt a knot tighten in my stomach. The kind of knot that made me want to run. To escape this feeling.
“Layla,” Paige said softly, breaking the silence. “You okay?”
I glanced at her, swallowing hard. “Yeah, I’m fine.”
She didn’t seem convinced. She took a step closer, her eyes searching mine. “You sure? You don’t have to pretend everything’s fine if it’s not, you know this.”
I shook my head, looking down at the ground. “I don’t know what to think anymore, Paige. I don’t even know why I asked you what I did. It just… felt like something I needed to say. I was really drunk and confused I guess. But now, I just feel… weird.”
Paige’s expression shifted, a flicker of something defensive in her eyes. “Weird how?”
I was silent, except for the sound of my breath, heavy and uneven. I could feel the weight of Paige’s words pressing down on me, but I couldn’t shake the feeling that something inside me was breaking. I didn’t know how to fix it.
“I just don’t get it, Layla,” Paige said, her voice a little shaky but firm. “Why are choosing to continuously hurt yourself by denying the facts.”
“I’m not. I just—” I paused, struggling to find the right words. “I don’t want to be that person. I don’t want people to look at me like it’s all they see when I play. I don’t want to be judged. People already say enough disgusting stuff online about queer people. Imagine what they would say if they found out an athlete they looked up to secretly liked the same gender. It would hurt my career so much if people found out Paige, you don’t get it.”
Paige’s face tightened, her blue eyes flashing with anger. “What the hell, Layla? Are you seriously forgetting that I’m gay myself? I would get it. People speculate about my sexuality all the time, and yeah, it’s obvious. Everyone knows it. Sure, there’s a small percentage of people who hate on me for it, and I see it. But if I let that control my life, I’d be a pretty shitty person. People always have their opinions, and most of them are garbage, but you can’t let them define how you see yourself. You’re letting people on the internet make you think you’re wrong for feeling how you feel. It’s fucking ridiculous.”
I flinched at her words, the anger in her voice cutting deeper than I expected. I didn’t answer, my heart pounding in my chest. She was right. She knew exactly what it was like to feel out of place. But I couldn’t help the way I felt.
“I’m sorry,” Paige says quietly, her voice suddenly soft, regret seeping into her tone. “I shouldn’t have said that the way I did at all. I shouldn’t have gotten that mad, I just hate hearing you talk about yourself like that.”
My hands were shaking now, and I wiped at my eyes, feeling the tears I’d been holding back start to fall. I couldn’t stop them. I couldn’t stop any of it.
Paige saw me crying, and her expression softened instantly. She stepped forward, reaching out to gently grab my arms, pulling them away from my face. “Layla, I’m so sorry. I shouldn’t have let it get that far. I didn’t mean to upset you.”
I looked up at her, my chest tight. “It’s not you, I just don’t know what to do, Paige. I don’t know how to feel. I don’t know how to make this go away.”
Paige’s eyes softened as she held my arms. “You don’t have to make it go away, Layla. You don’t have to figure it out right now. But please, don’t hate yourself for it. You’re not disgusting, or weird. You’re… you’re perfect just the way you are.”
Her words hit me like a wave, and for the first time, I felt like I could breathe. Like maybe, just maybe, I wasn’t as lost as I thought.
“I really care for you,” Paige continued, her voice low and sincere. Hearing you talk about yourself like that—it hurts me. It hurts to see you think you’re not worth it. You are. You really are.”
My heart skipped a beat, and I felt a surge of warmth in my chest. I stepped closer to her, not sure what I was doing but knowing I needed to be near her. “I’m sorry, too,” I whispered, my voice trembling. “I didn’t mean to make you feel like that.”
She smiled softly, her hand brushing against my cheek. “You don’t need to apologize. I just want you to know you’re not alone in this. I’m here. I’ll always be here.”
I felt a pull in my chest, an undeniable connection that I couldn’t ignore. I leaned in slightly, my breath catching in my throat. I was close enough to feel the warmth of her skin, to see the way her blue eyes softened, the way her pink lips parted just slightly. My heart raced, the air thick with unspoken words, with everything we hadn’t said yet.
For a moment, everything seemed to stop. The world around us faded, leaving just the two of us in this fragile, suspended moment. I could hear the soft sound of her breathing, the way it matched mine, both of us caught in the tension that had been building between us.
I barely registered that I was moving closer until our noses were almost touching, the smallest breath between us. I could feel the heat of her body against mine, the way her cologne lingered in the air, intoxicating and all-consuming. I could feel the pull, stronger now, undeniable, and it was like something inside me snapped.
I couldn’t stop myself. I leaned in, closing the space between us, and my lips brushed against hers in the softest kiss. It was tentative at first, a question, a hesitation, but it felt right. Her lips were warm and inviting, soft as velvet, and I couldn’t help but press into her, deepening the kiss just slightly, my hands finding their way to her neck, pulling her closer.
Her lips moved against mine with a gentle pressure, and I responded instinctively, my body leaning into hers, craving more. There was no fear, no doubt. Just the rush of the moment, the way her touch made everything else fade away. It felt right.
But then, just as quickly as it started, I pulled away, breathless, my chest heaving. I looked at her, my heart pounding in my ears, and I saw the same intensity reflected in her eyes.
“Paige,” I whispered, my voice shaky. “I—”
She didn’t give me a chance to finish. Before I could say another word, she pulled me back to her, her lips crashing against mine with a hunger that took me by surprise. This time, there was no hesitation, no softness. Her hands were on my waist, pulling me even closer, and I could feel the urgency in her kiss, the way she needed me as much as I needed her.
I kissed her back with everything I had, my hands threading through her hair, pulling her even closer, if that was even possible. I could feel the heat between us, the way our bodies pressed together, desperate to feel more. It was a kiss that left no room for doubt, no space for anything but the raw, overwhelming undeniable connection between us.
panic, meet the press
[commentary, process pics, and alternate version under the cut! reblogs appreciated !]
full disclosure guys, I wasn’t the BIGGEST fan of London Beckoned when I first listened to afycso, but like the majority of the album it grew on me after the second listen—london beckoned, I constantly thank god, and the only difference are by no means my favorite songs on the album (tbh, they probably are the most forgettable songs if I HAD to choose) but afycso is such a good album overall that even the “worst” songs are insanely good
(although, I genuinely despise I write sins—i legitimately feel as though it is the weakest song on the album, possibly because it is overplayed but also I don’t think it holds up as well as the other songs off the album)
anyway, this wasn’t originally supposed to be patd fanart but the disco ball was too on the nose, so I just added in a lyric that I felt was fitting. which, by the way, this sort of pseudo-alliteration (for lack of a better phrase) appears a LOT in afycso—some more that come to mind: “relax, relapse” “alone in this bed, house and head”
and now here’s some process pics:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
i feel like these pics really kinda illustrate what i meant by “carving the figure out” that I described in the commentary under my build god post—if you ignore the fact that i took the disco ball from a picture of the disco ball i had at my 18th birthday (i didn’t want to draw a disco ball. sue me). ignore the fact that a LOT is missing from this progression, i forgot to record my process
anyway, just to wrap up, i really like the execution on this one!! it’s very similar (but i think slightly better than) my build god piece, so i think this is a good sign of improvement! maybe I’ll make this a series and draw every song off afycso in this style, who knows! just started school again today, so we shall see how much free time i have haha
here’s the build god piece for reference btw (plus an alternate orientation of the london beckoned piece!):
k thx thats all byeeeeeeeeeeeee! (btw, does anyone wanna share afycso rankings?)
On some real shit though, I want to put this out there:
Thank you so, so much for all of your love and support that you’ve given me and all that I’ve been able to give back to so many of you in return these last few days. I should have known once that I started seeing more Luigi memes and reels of all sorts of my social media a few weeks ago, it was a sign of something. I’m wholly invested in this case, for a multitude of reasons, across different approaches and, though I’ve said this so many times, it’s something about his story that reels me in like no other. I don’t know what the unforeseeable future will exactly hold this year, but my only wish that it brings Luigi closer to freedom and vindication, and the confirmation that he is loved and supported by many.
I’m kind of even surprised that I’d ever go out this far and make a dedicated blog on Tumblr, as I’ve had the app for many years but never actually attempted to create a functional space. I know it’s not about the numbers, but to reach a 100+ followers on both blogs and have active camaraderie on here? It’s crazy. Who knew that it wouldn’t be in honor of one of my fav artists, but some nice-looking, tall, curly-haired Italian frat boy that I wish I had a chance with. The odds, right?
On italianbabydaddy, I stated, word for word, that the purpose of the blog was a safe space for me to let the imagination run wild through posting my simp-fueled dreams and horny thoughts, and I guess now I’ve made that my trademark on here—and a lot of people are rallying behind me on that one. Thank you for engaging with me, interacting with me, talking to me about lore, fawning over the most precious visions/dreams/wishes you have about Luigi, and enjoying my little imagines and ideas that go on in my mind. But also, thank you for being vulnerable and comfortable enough to join me, along with many others, on a platform like this to stand in solidarity and show your support for him, too.
I am honored that some of you have reached out to me and said how my blog makes your day, teaches you something entirely new, or that my writing is entertaining—because that last part, along with everything, means a lot. I’m hoping maybe by joining this community, I’ll learn to develop a better relationship with self-reflecting on my skills of writing and stop putting myself so far down that I lose my love for it. I’m nowhere near a defense attorney or Luigi Mangione historian, but one of my main goals of this blog (beside all the simping) is to spread awareness, provide evidence, and bring knowledge about his story in all honesty. There’s a lot of stories about him going around that are lacking in truthfulness and sincerity right now, and it’s so important that we find spaces and talk about things in the correct way. We have to continue to say his name and keep talking.
I really planned for this post to just be a paragraph or two, but if you made it this far, then I really love you and appreciate you, beyond words that I possibly could ever come up with. Thank you thank you thank you 🥺
