Impulse issue #66 is honestly one of the best single comics ever published
The hero beats the villain not by being faster, stronger or even smarter, but by being better by being a good person Bart shows Thad the mirror and the emptiness of his own existence. The fact that this wasn't the jumping off point for a Thad redemption is insane to me

DC Dimensions project plan - The Flash: Runs in the Family (Vol. 1)
Tumblr media
This series is not an assured project. It is a concept that can still be changed or scrapped.
Synopsis
The heroes and villains of Central City have been behaving irregularly. They seem to be in a hypnotic trance. The Flash and Impulse investigate the suspect, a content creator going by "Spin."
Characters
Bartholomew Henry "Barry" Allen/The Flash - The second hero to take on the mantle of the Flash.
Bartholomew William "Bart" Allen/Impulse - The son of Barry Allen and Iris West.
Iris West - The wife of Barry Allen and mother to Bart and Joan Allen.
Joan Allen - The daughter of Barry Allen and sister of Bart. She seemingly has no superpowers.
Jay Garrick/The Flash - The first superhero to call himself "The Flash." He acts as the voice of wisdom for the Flash Family.
Maxwell Crandall/Max Mercury - A speedster from the 19th century and mentor of Impulse.
David Lloyd/Spin - A young content creator with aspirations for the big time. When he goes out to collect heroes and villains for his social media, he wears special gloves and an LED mask to hypnotize them. Little does he know that he is only a pawn for a villain called "The Puppeteer."
Eobard Thawne/Reverse-Flash - The arch nemesis of Barry Allen. He is a speedster connected to the Negative Speed Force.
Leonard Snart/Captain Cold - The leader of the Rogues and an occasional ally of Barry Allen.
Mick Rory/Heat Wave - Member of the Rogues. He is a close friend of Captain Cold. His weapon is a flamethrower pistol.
Lisa Snart/Golden Glider - Member of the Rogues. She wears special skates that allow her to travel at superspeed.
Sam Scudder/Mirror Master - Member of the Rogues. He has the power to move through mirrors.
Roscoe Dillon/Top - Member of the Rogues. He can spin at superspeed.
Hartley Sawyer/Pied Piper - Member of the Rogues. He uses sound-based weaponry.
James Jesse/Trickster - Member of the Rogues. He loves playing pranks on the Flash.
Jordan Weir - The therapist of Joan Allen. There is a secret dark side to him.
Other Information
Golden Glider's skates are based on Shadow the Hedgehog's air shoes.

Character Transparent Folders
When a character reaches a certain number of files, I have been putting them into according to their outfit or variation in order to prevent the character folder from becoming messy and making it difficult to find what you're looking for. The ask I had regarding Avery prompted me to go through every book folder and have a look at characters where this may need to be the case. Now the following characters have now been sorted into outfit folders, along with the characters who are already sorted into outfit folders.
I have not included Rory Silva, Skye Crandall, and Logan from Ride or Die as I need to finish their folders. But once I have, they will also be sorted into outfit folders.
In the case of Adrian, Gaius, Jax, Kamilah, Lily, Rheya, Cas, Gabe Adalhard, & Bastien, they are organised into Vampire and Werewolf eyes folders instead of outfits. And in regard to Kyra & Dakota, they are organised by their hair.
If there are any characters I have missed that you think should be sorted like this, let me know.

Hi I love your posts and I want to ask because I think you would know for sure. Does Max have a heart condition? I was reading the comics and Bart jumped on his chest and Max told him to get off and was holding himself like his heart hurt. Is this ever explained?
Hi. I think you might be misremembering the scene just a little bit. Bart does jump up on him like a dog, but Max doesn't hold himself as if his heart hurt afterwards.

Impulse #5
I believe what Mark Waid was trying to convey here was that Bart was still acclimating to appropriate "normal" behavior. Max does look a little winded in the second panel, but ANYONE would when they had a 114lb teenager jump on their chest.
Telling him "you don't want to be on my chest" is perfectly valid and sound advice with or without any underlying medical morbidities.
Bart IS Max's heart condition.

Powers
Speed Force Conduit: People who, for whatever reason, are connected to the Speed Force are sometimes called Speed Force Conduits. This means that they are connected to the Speed Force and are tethered to it.
Accelerated Healing: The Speed Force connection allows the speedster's body recover from injury much faster than normal.
Enhanced Senses: The Speed Force enhances the speedster's senses, allowing them to perceive the world at a rate attuned how fast they can react.
Phasing: Speed Force conduits can tap into the Speed Force to vibrate their molecules in a way to achieve intangibility for short bursts, allowing them to phase through objects.
Speed Force Aura: The Speed Force also manifests an aura around the speedster and whatever they are carrying, protecting them from adverse effects of their speed, such a friction with the air.
Superhuman Durability: The Speed Force Aura also protects speedsters from kinetic impacts, which in turn, makes them much more durable and resistant to injury than any normal human.
Superhuman Stamina: While not unlimited, the connection to the Speed Force does bolster the speedsters stamina well beyond the limits of a normal human.
Superhuman Speed: The main effect of the connection is to allow a speedster to move at vast superhuman speeds.

Meditation: Max practices a form of meditation called "hypermediation", that allows him to detect various aspects that are inside the Speed Force, such as a voice or a visual.
Multilingual: He is able to speak Japanese, English, Russian, Cantonese, Mandarin, and possibly more.

Origin
Max Mercury was born in the early 19th century. By 1838, he had been assigned as a messenger at a fort. He made friends with the local Blackfoot clan. Unfortunately his fort commander, who did not trust any of them, leveled a bounty on the clan and ordered a full-scale massacre. The shaman of the clan, with his dying breaths, told Max that many tribesman were returning from the hunt, and that they would be ambushed if not warned quickly. With a pinkish substance, the shaman drew a lightning bolt on Max's chest, gave a prayer to the god of the storm and the wind, and died. Max ran faster and faster and faster still. As swift as the wind, he took the soldiers' weapons and caught the Blackfoot arrows in midair. He devoted the next few years of his life to protecting the natives and the settlers from one another as Ahwehota, or as he was better known, Windrunner. However, one night during a thunderstorm, Max felt drawn to the lightning from deep within his heart. He ran as he had never run before, breaking all barriers, and he began to be drawn into the speed force, the energy field that gives speedsters their power. He finally had met his glorious destiny, but fear stopped him, sending him ricocheting through time to New York of July 14, 1891.
Again and again, he tried to get to the speed force and failed. He continued his super-hero career as Lightning, Blue Streak, and Quicksilver between each jump in time.
Tumblr media
Golden Age
By 1947, Max had established the his current name, Max Mercury. He was sometimes called "The Whirlwind of the West." He often would team up with other speedsters, including the original Flash, Jay Garrick, and Johnny Quick, who would never believe that there was a speed force. Somewhere along the line, he got to know Zatara, the great magician who is father of Zatanna.
In 1949, Jay Garrick saved him from the Screaming Skull, a debt which Max vowed only to pay in a life or death situation.
In late 1947, Max saved the small town of Manchester, Alabama from Dr. Morlo and his toxic bombs at great cost to himself. Max's lungs were burned and his blood was tainted when he breathed in Morlo's mustard gas. Fortunately, the local physician, Dr. David Claiborne, found him lying in a culvert. David and his wife, Laura, cared for Max, who was out for nine weeks. He awoke to a new year and a new home. With David, he found a best friend with whom he shared a love of fishing, tennis, and the "Shadow" radio show. Laura, however, was special. She was lonely because David was always so busy, being one of the few doctors in the area. Max stayed with the Claibornes for quite some time. One lonely night, Max and Laura sat on the rooftop, looking at the stars. Laura felt so lonely with David always gone, and she and Max had grown to love each other. The inevitable happened. When David returned home, Max just ran. He jumped in time again, this time to New Year's Day, 1957.
By the sixties, Max again showed up, teaming with Johnny Quick as they fought the villain Savitar. Max chased after Savitar, a sprint that sent him flying into the seventies. He began to keep a journal in Korean, and he would often probe the speed force, trying to sense the presence of Savitar.
Eventually, Max gave up on his superspeed. Living in the Central Keystone area, he got a job selling subway tokens for MTA.
Tumblr media
Return
However, when Professor Zoom was in town, pretending to be the late Barry Allen, Jay Garrick and Johnny Quick enlisted his aid, recalling the Screaming Skull incident. Jay had kept Max's old, forties costume. Max joined Jay, Johnny, and the current Flash, in fighting Professor Zoom. He began to teach Wally to find the Zen of speed, thus gaining the nickname, "The Zen Guru of Speed."
After Zoom was defeated, Max disappeared for awhile. When Wally was trapped in time after adding Johnny's speed formula (3x2(9yz)4a) to his own speed, Max appeared. He could only remain at that high speed for a short time, but he taught Wally a valuable lesson about making decisions. Later, Max would occasionally keep an eye on Wally, peering into his house through the window or watching from a nearby alley.
Tumblr media
Mentor to Impulse
Max again showed up after Bart Allen had arrived from the 30th century, to teach Wally about the Speed Force, help train Bart, and lend a hand in defeating Kobra, who had unleashed Project Morpheus on Keystone City.
After trying to locate Laura Claiborne, only to find that she had died a while ago, Max learned that he had a daughter, Helen, who still lived in Manchester. Wanting to keep an eye on her, he decided to move there. Wanting Bart to be taught the finer secrets of speed, Wally sent him with Max to Manchester. Max, known to the average citizens as Max Crandall, Bart Allen's uncle, always stressed keeping a secret identity. He would put Bart through challenging drills, such as solving jigsaw puzzles in midair; dodging knives, axes, maces, swords, etc; and running obstacle courses while dodging knives, axes, maces, swords, etc.
One day, Max met his daughter, Helen, in the library. She took an instant liking to him. Not knowing that he was her father, she would always flirt with him, but he obviously never returned those feelings. He often would help her around the house. Bart, also not knowing the secret, would urge their relationship on.
One night, after Bart had returned from fighting Blockbuster, Max disappeared. He had been kidnapped by Savitar's ninjas and taken to his fortress, where he was tortured. Fortunately, just before he was to be killed, he escaped. He ran to his home, where he was met by Wally, who took him to the hospital. Using a map carved on Max's chest, he and Jesse Quick went off to fight Savitar. When Jesse destroyed Savitar's speed battery, Max felt a surge of speed energy, and was able to help the others fight Savitar. During this adventure, Johnny finally accepted Max's lessons about the Speed Force, and perished saving his daughter. After Savitar was defeated, Max and Bart returned to Manchester.
One day, Max and Bart showed up at Helen's to find her being beaten up by her ex-husband. Max's scream--"Take your hands off my daughter!"--revealed to Bart and Helen Max's secret. Max had to tell Helen the whole story, including his and Bart's identities. However, they now shared even closer bond.
Tumblr media
Into the Speed Force
Max finally become one with the Speed Force after his body was taken over by Jay's nemesis, Rival.
The Speed Force eventually sent Max, along with Barry, Wally, and Bart, to an alternate Earth. Here, they decided to allow Bart to absorb the power of the Speed Force so that he could be sent back home to defeat Superboy-Prime.
Tumblr media
Fun Facts
Max Mercury has gone by many nicknames over the years. Akin to the 'Scarlet Speedster', Max was called the Whirlwind of the West, Zen Guru of Speed, and Laughing Robin Hood.

I love your Max! Do you have any ideas on what Helen looks like in your verse?
Tumblr media
Thank you, anon!
I have to admit I wasn't really fond of Helen as a character when I read the Impulse comic books. So, I thought hard on how to make her more than just a mother figure to Bart. I'd rather write her as being more of a big sister to Bart. So I made her younger (since Max is also a bit younger in my hc).
She's a strong and independent woman in her late 20s who is a doctor living on the Blackfeet Indian Reservation. She's a fighter who will stop at nothing to help her people, even on a political level.
She will at first fight with Max because of his tendency to live alone without aknowledging his people and also his tendency to live in the past... and will open his eyes on the matter and on the future. He will slowly but surely reconnect with his culture and his people thanks to her.
Also, still debating if I should make her a speedster or at least make her speedforce sensitive. Maybe. I need to think about it more.

Characters that would be cool to see in the Young Justice TV show
(Sorry for any spelling or grammar mistakes.)
This is not a “This character should be in Young Justice” list. These are some DC characters I think are cool and think it would be cool to see them in the show. I completely understand why some, if not all these character won’t become part of the show, they already have a lot of characters, and it seems like the creators have their own plan in mind. This is just for fun. Also, I’m not a DC expert, so sorry if I get some things wrong about a character.
(PS. As of right now, my favorite DC superhero families are the Batfam and the Flashfam, so don’t be surprise if you see a lot of them on this list.)
(Just like the characters and show I will be talking about, I don’t own the pictures. They, the characters, and show are property of DC.)
1. Starfire aka Princess Koriand’r of Tamaran
Tumblr media
I have read been reading a few Teen Titans comics and I have seen a lot of episode of the show Teen Titans and I’ve got to say, I absolutely love Starfire. She’s strong, she’s kind, and just amazing. There’s to many great things about  her to list. I can already think of at least two ways the team could meet her. Maybe Tamaran is in trouble and Starfire heard of the heroes of earth and decided to go to them for help. Maybe the team's on mission in space on ship and they find Starfire as a prisoner. Just some possibilities.
2. Raven aka Rachel Roth
Tumblr media
Raven is the daughter of a demon that wants to take over earth, the story arcs you could use there are basically gift wrap to you. Not only that, but I like the idea of her and Jaime Reyes bonding over having powers that have a bad origin but they choose to use them for good. I hope I phrased that right.
3. Batwing aka Lucas “Luke” Fox
Tumblr media
I read his book by Jimmy Palmiotti and Justin Gray, and let me tell you, this guy is awesome. It would be nice to see him with the Batfamily in this show.
4. Signal aka Duke Thomas
Tumblr media
I love this kid and his book by Scott Snyder and Tony Patrick and it is awesome. A lot of elements of Young Justice focus on meta humans, and based on what I know, Duke is the only batfamily member with superpowers. Maybe their can be a story arc about Duke being new member to the batfamily but feeling out of place because of his powers, which leads him to join Young Justice. Or something like that.
5. Max Mercury aka Maxwell Crandall
Tumblr media
This guy can lead to a lot of interesting stories. In the comics he was primary care taker and mentor of Bart, but seeing as that role has been given to Jay Garrick, I don’t think Max will become that if he’s part of the show. That being said, I can see him still bonding with Bart in the show. Max was basically the first speedster, and might have been the first time traveler. Max was original from 1800s and ended up running so fast that wound up modern time. Well, eventually he ended up in modern time. So he could relate to Bart about living in a time that they weren’t original part of. The difference would probably be that while Max’s time wasn’t great he would probably still miss stuff, like his friends and family, but Bart doesn't really much if anything to miss about his time. (I mean, Bart had Neutron, but Neutron was just as miserable as Bart was. They were both living in what was basically hell.)
6. XS aka Jenni Ognats
Tumblr media
Jenni Ognats, granddaughter of Barry Allen, daughter of Dawn Allen, and cousin of Bart Allen. A speedster hero and a member of the legion of superheroes. At first I wondered why she wasn’t with Phantom Girl, Saturn Girl, and Chameleon Boy in season 4, but then I realized that Bart wasn’t born as far in the 31 century like he is in the comics, or at least I don’t think he is, my math might be off, but I think his future was in the 2060s at most, so Jenni probably doesn't live in that time zone either. Their were probably some other reasons too, but think that was one of the main reasons. I still there are some ways that Jenni could become part of the show. Apparently Don and Dawn Allen will sometimes become villains instead of heroes, so maybe Jenni goes back in time to prevent that. I know the twins are very young at the moment, so maybe the thing that leads to twins becoming villains happens when they were very young. That or maybe Jenni could be what Bart claimed to be when he was first introduced: a tourist from the future. Or maybe, Jenni travels to the past to try and escape the next person on the list.
7. Reverse Flash aka Eobard Thawne
Tumblr media
Eobard Thawne, enemy of the Flash, killer of Nora Allen, and ancestor of Bart Allen. (Ps. @dementedspeedster, thank you for correcting me.) This guy would pretty much do anything in order to hurt Barry Allen, even if it means killing everyone in the world including himself. So he already has a built in motive for causing problems in the show. That and his relation to Bart can lead to interesting character arcs and story. Did Bart even know that he was related to this man? If not how does he feel about that? Bart seems very proud to be a part of the flash family, how would he react to finding out he was also related to the Flash’s worst enemy? This could lead to him having bonding moments with Artemis, Orphan, and others due to them understanding what it’s like to related to a villain, as well as helping Bart comes to terms with it. That and/or these a story line where Eobard Thawne comes after Bart, for one reason or another. Either way, I can see how add Eobard in the show can lead to a lot of possibilities.
8. Inertia aka Thaddeus Thawne
Tumblr media
Speaking of how add the Reverse Flash can lead to a lot of possibilities, meet Thaddeus Thawne: A clone made by President Thawne using Bart Allen’s and Thawne DNA, made to hurt, kill, and basically cause problems for the Allen family, mainly Bart Allen. Cloning is something that happens or is referenced to, quite a lot in this show, so Thaddeus wouldn’t feel too out of place. He could offer a lot of the same stuff Eobard Thawne, with the added bonus of a possible redemption arc. Superboy and Red Arrow would probably relate to him for being a clone made to be pawn in someone else plan and would try to show him that his life doesn't have to be like that. The Flash family might see him as family, since he still has a bit of Allen in him, and try to to convince him that they will actually treat him like family and not a tool for “revenge”. That and I just love villains redemption stories, and I don’t think any child is beyond help, so I would love it this show did something like that.
9. Meloni Thawne
Tumblr media
Bart Allen’s mother. I’m not a 100% sure how the show could use her, other than in a Reverse Flash story line, but it would be nice to see her.
10. Catwoman aka Selina Kyle
Tumblr media
I’m honestly surprise there hasn’t even been at least a reference to her in the show. Selina is both a love interest and villain of Batman, a master thief, but will be a hero if she feels like she has to be, there is a lot you can do with her. Personally, a idea I have for her is being a double agent to infiltrate The Light. Unlike the last the heroes made someone a mole, everyone on the team will know she’s a double agent. Probably won’t happen, like most of the things on this list, but just a thought.
11. Harley Quinn aka Harleen Quinzel
Tumblr media
Harley Quinn’s loads of fun and it would be nice to see her in Young Justice. I can see her doing what I also suggested for Catwoman and being a double agents, or I could see her just being a one time villain in a episode. Their are quite literally 100% ways you can go with her character.
12. Bunker aka Miguel Jose Barragan
Tumblr media
I will admit I don’t know a whole lot about this guy, but he seems like a fun guy. That and his powers are cool. I’d be happy to see him in the show.
13. Ace aka (I couldn’t find another name for her)
Tumblr media
As far as I know, this girl only exits in Justice League Animated Universe, but I like her, and I know a lot of other people like her. Ace is a traumatized and hurting child with powers that are almost god like. Like Raven, their are all kinds of story arcs you can do with that. The one I came up with first is her using her powers to avoid her trauma and problems, and live in a fantasy world. But again, there are a lot of things you can do with her.
14. Princess Amethyst of Gemworld aka Amy Winston
Tumblr media
The show confirmed that other dimensions are in fact a thing in the Young Justice universe, so Gemworld could exists in their world. Meaning it is possible for Amethyst to become part of the show. (This is a bit more of a prediction than hope. Not saying I don’t want her to be in the show, just saying this is more of a prediction.)
15. The H.I.V.E Five/Fearsome Five aka Jinx, Billy Numerous (William Billy Strayer), Kyd Wykkyd, See-More (Seymour), Mammoth, and Gizmo (I couldn’t find all they’re real names, sorry)
Tumblr media
Before you ask, yes, they are called The H.I.V.E Five even though their are six of them. Also, I don’t really know much about their comic counter parts, so I will mostly if not always be referring to their Teen Titans characters. For me, these kids were the best thing about the Teen Titans show so that alone is a reason why I think it we be neat to them in Young Justice. That being said, I can see some good story arcs for the show involving these characters.
That’s all I got for now, sorry it’s late, and my head is starting to hurt.
Later I will probably look at this and kick myself for not putting a character on this list, but right now I think I’m satisfied.
(Again, sorry for any spelling or grammar mistakes.)
