The movies Maurice (1987) and Impromptu (1991) rewrote my brain chemistry permanently. It's like it’s been revealed to me yesterday that the world is round, while I have been living in the belief that it’s flat. Hugh Grant's looks from the late 80s to early 90s are indescribable. His eyes show such emotion in Maurice that every time I see him I have to sit up and look around the room for a second. I feel like Rosie Dunne, who has finally been reunited with Alex Stewart after many years. Hugh Grant from the late 80s if you can hear me then give me a sign and come to me in a dream, I don’t know if I want to be with you or become your doppelganger.

A Hazbin Hotel/Beauty & the Beast AU with Adam as . . . well, Prince Adam/The Beast.

Angel Dust can be Lumiere.

Husk can be Cogsworth.

Either Alastor or Rosie can be Mrs. Potts.

If Alastor is Mrs. Potts, then Niffty can be his Chip (because she’s smol & fierce & they have a cute dynamic, NOT BECAUSE NIFFTY’S A CHILD!!!).

If Rosie is Mrs. Potts, you can take any of the cannibal kids & make them her Chip.

Babette/Plumette/Fifi/whoever the feather duster is can be scrapped since, let’s be honest, Lumiere & Cogsworth are the OTP.

Either Alastor or Sera can be The Enchantress.

Either Lucifer or Lute can be Belle.

If Lucifer is Belle, then Lilith can be Gaston (with Emily as a LeFou who originally worships her, then slowly realizes she’s kind of the worst & defects to help the lovers).

If Lute is Belle, then Sir Pentious can be Gaston with his Egg Bois as an army of LeFous (ok, this one isn’t properly thought out because Pentious & Lute have nothing going on, so feel free to swap Pentious with someone else).

If Lucifer is Belle, then Charlie can fulfill the same role as Maurice by getting lost in Hell & being taken prisoner by Sinner!Adam for trespassing, leading to Lucifer trading himself for her freedom.

If Lute is Belle, then Vaggie can fulfill the same role as Maurice by getting lost in Hell & being taken prisoner by Sinner!Adam for trespassing, leading to Lute trading her freedom for Vaggie’s.

Ooh, and Velvette can be the wardrobe since she’s the fashion icon of Hell!

Anyway the story

It takes place in hell and everyone is still there form. As the story goes The once was a Belovent King Lucifer who loved His wife Lilith and Daughter Charlie. However he was very depressed from his own past. Lillith finally had enough so she Left and took there 3 year old daughter away from her father.

This Devastated the King and he became very bitter about the world. He saw them as nothing but lonesome sinners. Then one day an old beggar came to the castle asking for shelter from the yearly extermination. She offered him a single red rose. Repulsed at her haggard appearance Lucifer sneered the gift and turned the old sinner away. However she warned him not to be fooled by appearances. For beauty is found within. When he dismissed her again The old woman's outward appearance melted to reveal Lilith.

She had become horrified of what her ex had become she told him he has to move on from her even if she has to force him. Lucifer begged for forgiveness but it was too late. For the ex queen saw he had no love in his heart. As punishment she Transformed him into the Devil that mankind feared. She also placed a curse on those that were the castle that night. Before disappearing she told Lucifer " You will remain a devil for all eternity however if you learn to love again and earn their love in return before the last petal falls. The spell will be broken. If not you will remain a beast for all eternity " with that she disappeared.

Many years passed and the king lost all hope. For who could ever love The Devil himself

Tails: When he and sonic were filling out paperwork to make sure he legally existed Tails realized he didn’t know his middle name and could reasonably put “Tails.” Instead he put “Terminator”

Shadow: We had two (2) options: #1.) It’s something extremely Catholic like Clementinus. It doesn’t fit his brand so he just doesn’t tell anyone. also he can’t pronounce it. #2.) It’s like a deep, guttural screech/roar. Everyone assumes it was Black Doom’s name for him but no that was Gerald’s idea actually

Rouge: Francisca. Shadow was like “oh something really catholic as well” “actually my family were very much not catholic that’s just a funny coincidence.”

Omega: Terminator. Stole the idea from Tails

Blaze: She has like 48 middle names cause she’s royalty and they’re like that

Vector: ALSO something extremely Catholic like Benedict or someshit

Espio: “A ninja’s secret name is to stay absolutely secret. It is the key to their identity. Their soul. None shall know of it.” He picked his own middle name and it was SasuNaru and he’s embarrassed about it.

Charmy: Vector named him so it is also EXTREMELY Catholic. Charmy cannot remember it. “It’s VALENTINE, Charmy!! It’s literally one of the easiest Saints to remember!! Saint VALENTINE!!” “look i made a necklace out of gummy worms :D”

Mighty: it’s something like super normal like Evan or Thomas

The birth of an icon

Lucky Luke wasn't from the very beginning the icon that everybody knows. To become that, he had to travel a long way. He only got his status after 15 albums. When Morris, in 1946, started Lucky Luke, he still made use of what he had learned before in his previous, short career at the cartoon studio. Compared to Franquin¹, who let this pass by quickly, Morris needed at least 3 Lucky Luke adventures before he listened to the wise lessons of Jijé², who was the mentor of the creatieve process of the post-war Spirou/Robbedoes³. In the beginning of the 1950s, Morris went to live in New York and he couls take a peek behind the scenes of the new, post-war American comic. Compared to the European one, the language of the American comic had way more codes. Because comics in America had a more adult audience, the writers had more artistic freedom. Morris got to know the future group of the magazine MAD⁴ in the time of his American wanderings. This meeting became decisive: Morris would then take distance from the aesthetics of his old friends who had already returned to Europe. While Morris still continued to publish for Spirou/Robbedoes alongside Will⁵, Jijé, Rosy⁶ and Franquin, he diverged with his artstyle from the 'atom style' of the Marcinelle school���, as how comics historians were starting to call it in the '70s. From that time, Morris went his own way, independent of the comic families Spirou/Robbedoes, Tintin/Kuifje and Pilote. The meeting with René Goscinny became the end of this process. Goscinny helped Morris keep only the essentials of all his influences that he had gone through - Hergé, Jijé and MAD. Slowly, the hero that Morris had been looking for for 10 years without ever really finding him, started to come. An icon with a disarming charisma, always on the move in a world that continually threatens to slip, but gets on the right track again with a nice twist. A poor lonesome cowboy in a world populated by clowns. This is his story.

Franquin¹: André Franquin was a Belgian comics artist, mostly known for Gaston and Marsupilami.

Some terms if anyone wants it explained:

MAD⁴: An American magazine.

Jijé²: Jijé is the pen name of the Belgian comics artist Joseph Gillain. He's best known for being a seminal artist for Spirou et Fantasio and the creator of Jerry Spring.

Spirou/Robbedoes³: A Belgian comics magazine. Spirou is French, Robbedoes is Dutch.

Will⁵: Willy Maltaite was a Belgian comics artist. One of his notable works is Tif et Tondu.

Rosy⁶: Maurice Rosy was a Belgians comic writer, one of his notable works being Tif et Tondu.

Marcinelle school⁷: Also known as the École de Marcinelle/School van Marcinelle. A name of a group of Belgian cartoonists formed by Jijé after WWII. The first generation, known as the Bande à quatre(Gang of four), consisted of Jijé and his assistants: Will, Franquin and Morris.
