Here it is the first book in my life! After 7 months of written and illustrated, To be exact is 3 months of writing and 4 months of drawings. . The project is based loosely on a period of time where she lost herself. During that time, She felt like she forgot who she really was, because many people told her that it’s impossible to work as an artist and illustrator; which is something that is important to her individual identity. . Fortunately, the people surrounding her strongly encouraged and believed in her, giving her the confidence to create art again. These are the reasons that impacted and inspired her to create this book for her Masters project. . ‘Lost’ is a story of a journey of self discovery. The protagonist fells into the parallel universe where sets in underwater world. Then, meets many people from that world who reflects her personality in different ways.Then returns to her own world with a new perspective, growing more confident in herself for who she really is. . The whole journey of making this book, One feeling that always happen is Fear. I was so scared that I might not have another chance to do art again. So, I did my best in every single drawing, every sketches and details. Thus, I printed 12 books with signed for sell in my graduation show and hope people understand my message through the book. . It's that time of year when I'm usually checking out lots and lots of books from my college library. I'll be taking classes remotely this year, which is safer by far but a little sad given that it's the final year of my MA program. So I thought I'd post this photo of my library book stacks from last fall. 📚 . It shows *only* 55 library books: a pretty modest amount, by my standards! 😆 I'll miss studying and browsing in the library, but most of all I'll miss the amazing librarians who keep me and my fellow classmates supplied with the most obscure titles on our must-read lists. Now I bombard them with requests for ebook versions, which they are almost always able to fulfill, much to my delight and eternal gratitude. 💚 @slclibrary 💚 . Death and its associated terms can be a terrifying and taboo topic, which people tend to avoid and be repulsed by. However, death is treated with curiosity, which is underlined by the innate human need to visualise something beyond the perceivable spectrum. Having Illustration as a vehicle, the audience's tendency to lust something beyond the perceptible reality will be explored. Hence, the relationship between the organic/analogue and the digital in regards to human fragility, death, grief and loss with be the central themes of my research. Ultimately, the outcome of this research aims to create a contemporary visual language and familiarise the audience with the factor of death.
