a devilish dective esque show of Lucifer Morningstar the Devil living life as a wild child type who can open desires from everyone but one person who starts to intrigue him a female Detective Chloe Decker which soon turns out was a gift from God and a key to Lucifer heart, she makes him feel human and things heat up slowly but surely who is played by Tom Ellis and Lauren German.

oldie but still a fav, from the scifi series Stargate Atlantis 5 great seasons and complicated feelings from both Major now Lt Col John Sheppard and Athosian leader of srots Teyla Emmagan played by Joe Flannigan and Rachel Luttrell, their character chemistry was growing in season 1 but seemed to falter but they had their moments as a maybe happening but it was one of those writings where it just wasnt really gonna happen just in dreams.

another rebooted series Macgyver follows a smart-brained guy who can make things out of the air with pretty much anything he sees when the situation gets rough and the hacker Riley Davis who is also smart and techy with computers can hack pretty much anything she gets her hands on, they have that more friend zone type relationship but they also have the secret stares and eye contact like Magnum and Juliet who work pretty well together and has grown close through out the seasons but struggles with their own personal relationships outside of work but always stick together played by Lucas Till and Tristin Mays.

based on the reboot Magnum PI follows Thomas Magnum Private Eye living at the Robins nest in the guest house being watched by Juliet Higgins who is the DOMO of the Robins Nest is former MI-6 agent now turned Magnums partner in Hawaii played by Jay Hernandez and Perdita Weeks who are both funny, quirky and has interesting chemistry but both Magnum and Juliet be playing the secretly not into each other even though their secret glances and eye contact is obvious.

based on a reboot version of Roswell which is now called Roswell New Mexico follows Liz Ortecho and alien-human Max Evans, its an interesting show that has its moments not enough episodes but has outpassed its original Roswell series with now 4 seasons which is currently finished filming season 4 played by Jeanine Mason and Nathan Dean Parsons who may or may not still be together off-screen they were supposedly dating kind of unknown if it went anywhere now with the pandemic stuff going on.

based on the romantic book series which follows through a troubled man dark world to a young woman who changes him inside and out from feeling he has the be alone to feeling freed from the dark world he was living under as Christian Grey a rich man who has a secret dark side of being in the BDSM world who meets the young blue-eyed woman Anastasia Steele at his work where she interviews him for her friend who got sick so worlds collide where he's intrigued by her innocence and shows her his naughty side which in turn doesn't go as planned when she wants to feel why he's so afraid to lose her bc of the BDSM world but soon regrets it and leaves him which comes Fifty shades darker and then fifty shades freed portrayed by Jamie Dorna and Dakota Johnson.

a never gonna happen but wish it could happen relationship of Barry Allen and Caitlin Snow, Barry ends up marrying Iris which follows the comics not that I dont like Iris which I do but Caitlin is also an interesting choice but it just isn't meant to be tv wise but we all can dream of it happening especially bc both Grant Gustin and Danielle Panabaker are just adorable and have great chemistry on and off-screen.

Whispering Key, Tome 1 : Off Plan — May Archer

I came to Whispering Key for a job. That was all. To show the world Mason Bloom could be more than a small-town doctor living a medium-sized life. Private doctor on a swanky island with a posh resort? Check. But from the moment I set foot on this island, nothing went according to plan. I didn’t expect to find the resort falling apart. I didn’t expect the people here to be so charming and crazy and welcoming and real. I didn’t expect legends about shipwrecks and buried treasure. And I definitely didn’t expect Fenn Reardon, the island’s incredibly attractive, incredibly infuriating, incredibly male resident tour guide, to become the one person I can’t live without. Thirty-five’s a bit late for me to realize I'm not straight, though, right? And I have big dreams that won’t fit on Whispering Key, anyway—dreams that do not include tying myself to a tiny island stuck in the past or to a man who refuses to think about the future. My head’s telling me I have to leave Whispering Key… My heart’s telling me there might be treasure on this island after all.

Quel plaisir de retrouver cette auteure. Elle fait partie de mes dernières découvertes d’auteurs MM. Elle est super douée pour écrire les petites sagas familiales dans les petites bourgades, un peu comme la série Forever Wilde et les Marians de Lucy Lennox et ce livre qui est le tome 1 de sa nouvelle série ne fait pas exception. 

Ici on rencontre Mason qu’on connaissait déjà d’une précédente série qui se retrouve tout excité d’avoir trouvé un poste de médecin dans une île paradisiaque, une nouvelle aventure tout existante qu’effrayante mais il adécidé de prendre sa vie en main et être l’artisan de son propre bonheur,  et de Fenn, un habitant de la dite île, tout grumpy et blasé de la vie. Quand Mason arrive sur l’ile, il découvre que l’île est naturellement paradisiaque certes mais totalement une île fantôme. Il faudra ravaler sa déception et remplir sa part du contrat, mais il faudra aussi fréquenter cet ours mal léché de Fenn. 

Petit à petit, Fenn s’adoucit et Mason se retrouve de plus en plus attiré par ce personnage aussi sympa qu’un mal de ventre. Et pour ne rien gâcher, Mason n’est pas gay ! et Fenn ne fait plus dans les gars hétéros à le recherche d’un expérience. Que de tracas en perspectives...le tout sur fond de sache aux trésors.

L’histoire est vachement bien racontée, ponctuée d’humour et de bons sentiments. On tombe tout de suite sous le charme des personnages principaux qu’on a envie de voir évoluer et enfin avoir leur happy ending et des personnages secondaires qu’on rêve de voir dans les prochains tomes de cette série.

May Archer manie avec beaucoup de dextérité humour et bons sentiments. Elle nous offre des scènes drôles et des scènes touchantes et émouvantes, et ça, on adore !

Peut être, le seul reproche que je pourrais faire c’est cette rapidité avec laquelle tout se déroule. Au final, ils s’aiment à la folie au bout de 6 semaines. Peut-être que ça aurait eu le mérite de s’étendre dans le temps pour plus de “réalisme” mais au final, c’est un super moment qu’on passe avec ce livre et je suis déjà dans l’expectative pour le prochain tome de cette série aussi drôle de touchante! Donc RDV pris pour le tome 2 quand tu veux, Miss Archer.

FRIEND PACKED CHART ROOM

The Chart Room last night was mostly friends. Some old, some recent, some new.

I walked into John, Sheila, Jean and Joe, Tom and Clare, Nanette and Jean Louis. Later, David, Anna and Everett, and Paul.

Sheila, the love of my life. Always happy. Joe and Jean smiling and chatting. Waiting for the Alabama game saturday. Jean will jump off a building should Alabama lose.

Tom and Clare from Aqua a couple of weeks ago. Tom a retired lawyer. Wife Clare, a former teacher and now PhD statistician. Tom and Clare were with friends from Florida’s New Port Richey. Nanette and Jean-Louis.

Nanette a retired middle school principal. Jean-Louis an energy consultant.

Nanette brought to mind a Jeanette McDonald and Nelson Eddy musical film from the 1930s. No, No, Nanette.

Chatted a bit with everyone. I was waiting for Paul. I met Paul at Giorgio’s home the night some of us watched the Michigan game last week. Paul is retired Naval Intelligence. A good time to talk with Paul in view of the intelligence political items on the front burner in Washington. I was not disappointed in our talk. Enlightening.

Saw David at the end of the bar as I was paying the bill. Seated next to him were Anna and Everett from monday night at Aqua. Their boat named Anna Cabana. Nice people.

David, Anna and David Alabama fans also.

Headed home. Stopped at Roostica on the way for lemoncello wings. Lucked out. Sat next to a bocce opponent. His name escapes me. A tough adversary. He loved to roll first. Long. Ninety nine percent of the time, his ball was right on the polina or mere inches away.

Things that surprise me. The number of people familiar with smelts. I wrote about smelts yesterday. My favorite Christmas fish. Many responded. Many aware of smelts. I received an education re where they are available to be harvested. One spot is western New York State. I did not know.

One of yesterday’s items that I did not have room to get to involved Richard Nixon. On January 4, 1974, Nixon refused to hand over tapes subpoenaed by the Watergate Committee. It was the beginning of the end for Nixon. He resigned eight months later.

Another item held over to today involves the Marathon Turtle Hospital. A unique rare facility.

Fifteen juvenile turtles were air lifted from Cape Cod to Marathon. Kemp’s ridley sea turtles. An endangered species.

The baby turtles had pneumonia. Brought on from cold Cape Cod waters. Weighed anywhere from 2-10 pounds.

Today in Keys History carries a photograph of the ground breaking for a Masonic Temple in July 1950. The building today The Studios of Key West.

A three story building. Where did the Masons go? Is there a formal Masonic Temple in Key West somewhere else? I don’t think so. Surprising.

William Hackley day. On this date in 1856, he was up and raring to go at 7 in the morning. Rain coming in  from the northwest. Hackley wrote, “It is so dark now in the office that I can scarcely see to write.”

No electricity in those days. Everything by candle light, if possible.

Candle light tough to work by. I recall one of the Key West hurricanes where I was stuck in the house for several days without electricity. Candles only. To this day, I cannot understand how Lincoln studied law by candle light. Reading tough!

Skaneateles restaurateur Dan Reardon back in town. A snowbird. Two to three months a year. A die hard Syracuse fan. We will be watching some games together.

Syracuse played Miami last night. Syracuse won 70-55. Game not televised.

I am pleased Syracuse won the game and in good stead. Miami came into the game 11-2, Syracuse 8-6. News reports state Syracuse’s fabled defense finally worked, the players crashed the boards and their offense was effective.

Pitt saturday at noon.

Roger Kostmayer is a Key West resident. I have never met him. However from his letters to the editor have come to know him. I would describe him a walking conscience.

In a recent letter to KONK E-Blast, he wrote: “Without warning or debate, in the dark of the night behind closed doors, the Republican caucus effectively killed the Office of Congressional Ethics, an act of extraordinary hypocrisy.”
