Day 26 - What are your favorite brands?

Mary Magdalene! I can't fit into a lot of their pieces, but their style is right up my ally. For me, they're the face of classic lolita. I really enjoy the hourglass shape their pieces give the wearer. I think it really matches their brand concept. Prices for them have gotten crazy and I can't really imagine spending that much money on their items now that they're back in operation.

I also really like Baby the Stars Shine Bright. I wouldn't consider myself a sweet lolita, but I love a lot of their designs. Especially their solid ones and the ones based on old school lolita.

Flower Leno JSK

For indie brands, I love Sleepyland a lot. I don't have the wardrobe for it but it's such a cute, innovative brand. To me, it encapsulates 2010s ott sweet lolita perfectly. I also really like Infanta and Surface Spell. I really like Infanta's fairy tale themed JSKs. I sold mine since they were too small, but I'm keeping my eye out for a larger size on the secondhand market.

“While I was doing my research, I was looking for fashion designers of the time, but really where people were getting their inspiration was from the golden age of cinema in Hollywood. Also, Gillian Jacobs had really enjoyed the work of an actress called Irene Dunn, so she was one of my inspirational people to watch and just see how she wore her clothes, then try to emulate it for Mary Jayne. I wanted to introduce her personality as not only cheeky but happy to go to any means to get what she felt was right. She was a moral woman for the greater good, and I really wanted her to shine.”

marlene's biggest fan is mary fr. like mary cheers the most for marlene during quidditch matches or gigs. she spends all day in the quidditch stands when marlene is practicing all day. she makes banners to hold for every match that marlene plays in. she makes t-shirts to wear during matches with marlene's name on. she makes merch for marlene's band and wears it all the time, even though the music isn't really her taste. she plays matchmaker for marlene as she has impeccable gaydar. she convinces every party to get marlene's band to perform. she boasts proudly about marlene's broom-making abilities. she gets confused when her popular friends think marlene is weird. she'd never miss a match or gig no matter what.

Wardrobe Post 2024

I enjoy wardrobe posts because it's a way to see what you've bought over the year and how it changes each year. This is my 3rd year in the fashion and I'm happy with how far my wardrobe has come. I also use it as a way to figure out what I should sell or keep. This year, I ended up looking for more classic pieces and being more intentional with my wardrobe purchases. I also got two dream dresses - Deborah Doll and Daydream Carnival. I don't have the best set up for my 2024 wardrobe post right now so I'm using pictures from lolibrary.
