(forgive me i’m not fully familiar with ur aus so idk if there’s already kid lore ie gender/age/names) i’m thinking about that pic of george and matty in the studio. maybe it’s a lighthearted studio day, maybe girly took the photo, maybe the kids are running around somewhere, maybe uncle george is helping a toddler play drums and matty is writing to himself on a guitar with a baby propped up on the couch with pillows as he mutters ideas to them and asks for advice as if they can answer. “oh yeah that sounds good right? yeah you’ve got a good ear darling. let’s write that one down so we don’t forget” as we know he’s prone to a voice memo, maybe there’s a tiny voice in the background of him recording a new riff idea, and the voice somehow makes its way into the final track.

this is soo unbelievably adorable i can’t… maybe you’ve got a bit of downtime so you bring little baby imogene to the studio with her dad, both of you content just watching him fuck about. she’s maybe a year and a half old, just starting to get her head around words and cooing up at matty while she has tummy time next to him on the sofa. matty’s taking her reactions as gospel, plucking out a melody and then turning to watch her little face. if she scrunches it up, he nods sagely, like exactly, genie. you’re so right, that’s rubbish. horrible, really. then she lights up when he tries again, starts to sing, giggling adorably. you like this one, baba? yeah, me too. better make a note of it. darling, can you pass me a pen? he says, lifting your daughter into his lap. matty’s entranced by her, watching adoringly as she kicks her little legs and blinks at him, fascinated. isn’t she just perfect? he mumbles, and you can physically feel the baby fever starting to take over you. mhmm, you sigh, sitting at his feet so you can kiss your daughter’s fluffy little head. maybe we should have another one…

Hope y'all are having a good holiday season, mine has been a rollercoaster, but in the meantime my brain has finally started to cook again. Have a snippet:

Usually, the sound of Imogene’s alarm roused both of them from their sleep at the same time; Semeru, ever the early riser, sometimes woke before the sun and chose to lay there in the quiet and stillness a while longer. Half the time he found Imogene curled against him, her head on his chest, her own rising and falling beneath his hand. In the years they’d been together, and few seasons they’d been married, he had yet to find a better way to wake up. Which was why when he blinked awake to the beeping of Imogene’s alarm, and she didn’t immediately reach to shut it off, alarm prickled along the back of his neck.  “Love?” he prompted quietly, after perhaps half a minute of incessant beeping.  Imogene, curled in a ball with her back to him, made an unintelligible noise. One hand reached out, slapped for the button– missed several times, before finally silencing the irritating beeping. Instead of rolling over, sitting up, or even greeting him– she fell silent once more. He sat up at once and leaned forward to see her face. “Love? What is it?” he asked. One hand braced against the bedding; the other reached out to graze her cheek.  He recoiled near immediately. Imogene burned beneath his hand, hot as the sunburn he’d sustained the past summer. She made a soft, strained noise at the touch of his fingertips.  “... don’ feel good,” she managed, words a slurred tangle of Merakih and land-dweller. “I can’t imagine,” he murmured. “Hold on. I’ll go get you some water.” She made a noise of protest, one that cut off halfway through as she began coughing. Deep, hacking coughs that shook her entire body. Semeru winced despite himself. Hestia appeared at the edge of the bed, just her ears, the tip of her nose, and two bright button eyes peering at them. He almost thought it was concern. “Harvest… needs to come in,” Imogene said finally. “Cranberries… today. And…” She started coughing again. Hestia’s ears disappeared, followed by the rest of her a half-second later. Semeru drew closer and rubbed her back through the fit.  “You need rest. None of that today.”

;) still a work in progress but this is the start and I thought for the 10 of us still interested in CI (i'm joking i promise) you might find this enjoyable. Unsure when it'll come out- we'll cross that bridge when I get to it.

(Plus I think I need to do some reevaluating on my writing habits ahead of the new year. Specifically to avoid the burnout I'm neck-deep in currently.)

Omg actress au baby!! I can just picture matty being extra protective with the paparazzi attention during pregnancy/going out with baby after shes born

yes :( the minute he clocks a camera in your vicinity during your pregnancy he’s shielding you as best he can, always ready to protect you oh lovely boy :( and then of course once imogene is born, that increases hundredfold. he tries to be polite at first, like “come on, it’s our kid, leave off” but when they don’t… he’s getting in their faces, never overtly threatening but they def get the message lol. when it’s fans, it’s obviously different, but he refuses pictures if he’s with her on his own: “sorry guys, i’m with my little girl, you understand,” and of course the vast majority of people do, cooing over how sweet she is, and she’s basking in the attention, smiling and babbling happily, and he’s like “look at her. chronic yapper, she must get that from me,” yeah. it’s all very sweet but he’s always ready to take care of you <3
