Mary Skelter Finale for PC launches September 12
Gematsu Source
The PC version of Mary Skelter Finale will launch via Steam on September 12, publisher Idea Factory International announced.
The new release will include all of the original contents of the PlayStation 4 and Switch versions, as well as all of the downloadable content embedded in-game, including the romance visual novel Mary Skelter: Locked Up in Love – True End.
Both the base game and Deluxe Edition will have a 20 percent-off launch week discount. The latter includes the following content:
Mary Skelter Finale game
Character art collection
Rough art collection
Original soundtracks and art inlays (78 tracks total)
PC wallpapers (x10)
Mobile wallpapers (x7)
Here is an overview of the game, via Idea Factory International:
About the Mary Skelter Trilogy
The Mary Skelter trilogy was born in 2016 as a collaboration between Compile Heart, Dengeki Bunko, and Dengeki PlayStation to provide entertainment across three media: games, novels, and magazines. Taken together, they all “connect to one another” as a whole! The trilogy includes Mary Skelter: Nightmares, Mary Skelter 2, and concludes with Mary Skelter Finale.
About
Jail—a living prison for humans, buried 666 meters underground. It appeared suddenly several decades ago, giving birth to monsters called Marchen and patrolled by madness-inducing Nightmares. A group of prisoners, Jack and the Blood Maidens, were reincarnations of fairy tales who dared to escape. They climbed from the bottom of the tower up to the surface, filled with hope… But outside were thousands of corpses soaking in a sea of blood. There stood beings known as Massacre Pink, smiling. In that moment, hope was destroyed. The group was torn asunder, with Jack and the Blood Maidens scattered to their own paths. Separated, they are each drawn to the devouring Jail that floats in the sky… This is the finale to the tale of the Blood Maidens.
Key Features
Zap and Explore – “Zap” between six groups of characters to dive deeper into their individual stories and relationships. Doing so will also allow you to coordinate puzzle-solving through dungeons filled with unforgivable traps, hidden gimmicks and treasures.
Infectious Insects and Cruel Nightmares – During battle, Nightmare larvae known as “Insectmare” may appear! These pests will latch on to a player’s screen, obstruct the view of battle, disable battle commands, and give players negative condition ailments. Seemingly invincible monsters known as Nightmares still lurch through each dungeon floor, so stay sharp!
Dive in the Depths of the Trilogy – Discover more about the Mary Skelter universe with the help of the three light novels that are included digitally in-game! Will Jack, Alice, and the rest of the crew escape the clutches of a living Jail and live happily ever after?
Nightmare Deja Vu – Mary Skelter Finale includes all of the event scenes from Mary Skelter: Nightmares and Mary Skelter 2! With the BEFORE STORY option, newcomers can catch up on the story before tackling the series finale, and veterans can sit back and relive the epic story of Mary Skelter!

Mary Skelter 2 (Steam, GoG) and Mary Skelter Finale are both on sale for 8 bucks a piece, and I cannot express to you enough how good a deal that is. Mary Skelter 2 includes a remake of the first game, meaning you get all three games for about 18 USD total (Though, if you absolutely want it, you can get the original release of the first game on Steam and GoG at a discount as well, do note it is missing its canon ending).
I cannot recommend these games enough; while I've yet to play the third game, and I'm roughly a quarter through the first after finishing 2, they're some of the best stories in recent memory and one of the single most effective tragedies I've seen in an RPG in general. I've never felt so motivated to get on with the next game in a series as i have just wanting to know what the hell else happens next. I can't really say much about the story without spoiling it beyond it just being, again, an incredibly heartfelt tale with one of the single most effective tragedies I've ever seen in video games, as well as an absolutely fantastic cast of memorable characters. Don't let it being a compile heart game (and therefore slightly more horny than most people are used to) detract from how well realized the narrative is. For less than 20 bucks total, it's an absolute steal. Get yourself some tragic yuri for the price of McDonald's.
I would give my life for Little Mermaid also.

Happy Audio Drama Sunday! I hope everyone has been checking out the zines being made for the fiction podcast zine festival this month, they're fantastic!! (I made one too ☺️)
@hinaypod Episode 46 - Paghahanda (Preparation) Part 2: This episode came out swinging and did not stop the whole way through! The Mari and Donner conversations, the Ash and Murphy conversation, Mari's Christmas plans... Then that final reveal!! It's had me (and the discord) bouncing off the walls!! I'm now very nervous for the next episode because it's the last one before the mid-season break, and you KNOW it's gonna go hard.
Residents of @proserpinapark Episode 35 - Shoelace Kink: It was so fun learning about some more household spirits. They've got me thinking about what else might be a household spirit. Junichi licking the umbrella back...too funny!! Hopefully they can help him regain his memories of the park.
@desertskiespodcast Desert Skies FM - Thank You for the Compliment: I love these little radio broadcast interludes. Mac and Nonny always have such great messages (in this one, how to accept a compliment and see your worth), and the traveler messages are so fun.
@thenightpost Season 1: I fiiiiiinally started The Night Post! I've heard so many good things about this show and I can see why. I love that we get episodes from each of our main three's perspectives. We get to learn about Gilt City and the Skelter through their respective lenses, which adds such nuance to the worldbuilding. And that cliffhanger at the end of the season?! I NEED to know what happens to our pigeons!

hello local older sister! your recommendations finally convinced me to buy mary skelter 2 on steam but I'm on vacation and can't play it till next week :((( thank you for listening to my vent
i already know to play the second one first, but is there anything else I need to know about going in? uncensored patches or anything like that?
thank you :)
There is an uncensor patch you can get from the publisher's website if I recall. It wasn't difficult to install and what it does is enable the washing minigame.
Other than that:
Save often, and ideally in different slots. This is true with most RPGs in general but in this one specifically it's possible to get cornered by wandering bosses and wiped out very quickly if you're not careful.
Gretel and Snow White are extremely overpowered to the extent that they nearly trivialize the game by applying stacking buffs to the jail roulette (to the point where you can easily get multiple free full heals and party-wide level-ups, among other things). Finding and equipping mysterious pieces really helps with this.
Gretel and Snow White can also unlock a useful ability that lets them use items in battle. That's normally a privilege reserved for Otsuu and Jack but helps a lot in fights that involve a lot of healing/status effects.
Generally the delay of [chant] spells makes them not worth using. It's generally best to use a weaker ability that goes off immediately.
While Jack can purify the party to prevent blood skelter (prevention is vastly preferably to cure) you can also manage it to a good extent by making good use of the lick mechanics. Some characters in particular are extremely useful to lick, and licking increases the jail's lust (which gives you roulette spins).
Additionally you want to figure out and hit elemental weaknesses often, not just for the bonus damage but to gain even more roulette spins. Can't emphasize enough how completely broken the stacking roulette buffs get. I'm pretty sure a big part of why game 3 splits the party the way it does is precisely so you can't break the game this hard again.
Otsuu's out-of-combat ability has the obvious use of filling in gaps, but if you get creative with it you may find several other uses. For example, if placed behind doors it can prevent nightmares from coming through, and it can also be used to manipulate movement in slippery floor puzzles.
Guns are really overpowered and greatly boost the damage of several characters that can use them. Kaguya and Sleepy are obvious choices.
Meanwhile, the "jack of all trades" characters like Rapunzel and Red Riding Hood are unfortunately on the less useful side since the game's balance is honestly a bit fucked up. They're not hopeless or anything but the way combat calculations and encounters in general work means they're going to be hitting for noticeably less than other characters given the same levels/gear.
If someone goes into blood skelter you're often better off either using Jack to cure that immediately or trying to end the fight immediately with your strongest attacks rather than using the embrace mechanic, assuming the afflicted party member doesn't just wipe the party or self-destruct. It's kind of a shame that the game's balance is as off as it is because embrace is a really cool mechanic that could have made for some very dramatic moments.
Fortunately it's pretty hard to miss story/character scenes. Just make sure to buy everyone enough gifts to max out their affection and check their scenes while at the base.

POV trying to understand the diabolic lovers lore be like
I'm literally running off theories at this point
the world building is just inconsistent. Personally, I am actually quite familiar with the game developpers- Idea Factory. This blog started out as a Neptunia blog and currently I finally got to playing Fairy Fencer F: Refrain Chord. Both of these are developped by one of Idea Factory's subsidiaries Compile Heart. I've also played the first Mary Skelter game and I still want to get to the sequel actually. So let me tell you that this is a plague that haunts Idea Factory. Whilst I love their gaming titles, the world building can be quite confusing. I feel like why the Neptunia series became one of their most well-known titles amongst international gamers, is the fact they managed to make that work by introducing various dimensions and spin-offs that aren't official to the main timeline. Like the very first Neptunia game is utter trash, most of the fandom agrees upon that. Whilst it got a way better remake, it's still big enough of a stain that it's a serperate dimension and the first game in the main timeline is actually the second title MK2 which takes place in an entire new dimension were they worked out some of the worst writing flaws from the first game.
I do think some of the best writers of Idea Factory are at Compile Heart, I swear and it is why I am Compile Heart trash myself.
#tetsutalk#diabolik lovers#hyperdimension neptunia#I'm a compile heart stan okay?!#Don't get me started on the amazing relationship writing#I am still not over Fang travelling back in time to save Tiara after she died#or Uzume and Umio

Abdel Aziz and the conservators finished their work on the columns in the Mut Temple’s porches on March 7. This photo and most of the others in this post were taken by Abdel Aziz in the final stages of the work and at the end. If you compare this shot with the next picture (taken some years ago), you’ll see what a difference their work has made. We are incredibly fortunate that they were willing to take on this project. And we are most grateful to Abdel Aziz for taking all the photos for the last few posts.
Just a reminder that this is what the porches looked like before the 2023 season, with fallen column drums lying helter skelter in the East Porch and the collapsed column blocking the view of the rams near the West Porch.
On March 4 Ayman supervised the lifting of what should have been the final column drum in the west column. It turned out not to fit, no matter how they tried, so it had to be taken down and left beside the column.
By March 6, the west column was finished. It looks much better than it did at the start of the season, when it was pretty much a heap of sand. Now at least you can tell it is a column.
This is the West Porch on March 7, with the column restored as much as it could be and the whole area cleaned up.
And here is the East Porch on March 7. While there are still miscellaneous column fragments that can’t be put back in place, the porch is looking much more organized.
A leftover piece of business from our shortened season. While working in the north square in Temple A, we uncovered these three pieces of diorite (not to scale): the back of a throne (left), part of a torso (top) and a hand. On the torso fragment you can just make out the bandeau at the bottom that ran under the breast and part of the broad collar at the top left.
It wasn’t until the season was almost over that we realized the fragments came from the lone Sakhmet statue on the north side of the court – why we didn’t think of this immediately we don’t know. The hand and throne fragment fit easily, but the statue’s torso was too damaged for the breast fragment to be reattached. When they finished with the columns, the Egyptian conservators re-attached the hand and throne back, and left the torso fragment sitting on the statue’s lap.
Almost every evening around sunset we watched huge flocks of ibises fly north. We don’t know where they came from or where they were going, but the flights were beautiful.
We close this last post of our last season with a view of the moon setting over the Nile. We will miss the beauty of this place as well as the people there we have come to know and love.
