Tony is shocked when he does something and the villains say thank you. No one's thanked him before.

This is a great prompt…and an incredible sad one. Thank you, darling!

“Here.” Tony throws the package a little harder than strictly necessary, not that it matters. These days everyone seems to have faster reflexes than normal people possess. Rumlow catches the bundle inches away from his face.

He doesn’t even bother with Loki, the demi-god will just magic anything wherever he damn well pleases. Also Tony is convinced that the guy is constantly surrounded by an invisible bubble that doesn’t let anything through without Loki’s conscious permission. He denies it of course but that doesn’t matter—it’s what Tony would do as well.

Madame HYDRA smiles pleasantly at him when it’s her turn, and Tony isn’t stupid. He knows that smile. He petulantly kicks her package into her general direction.

Sure, they all have to work together because in truth none of them want to be eliminated by Thanos. The enemy of your enemy and all that. Still, just because they have to work together doesn’t mean Tony has to like it. And he definitely doesn’t have to play nice. It’s not like there’s any Captain around to give him a disappointed glare—

Tony very determinedly stops that thought right in its tracks. The last thing he needs is to go down that road in front of witnesses, these people in particular.

“What’s this?” Rumlow asks curiously. He eyes the package like he expects it to come alive and try to eat him any second now—admittedly a tempting image.

But Tony can be an adult. And besides, it’s not like he’s got a lot of people lining up, willing to fight by his side these days. Allies have been in short supply since the breaking of the Avengers—the destruction and death caused by Thanos as a “warning” didn’t help matters.

“Stark’s not-yet-patented Survive The Apocalypse Caused By A Psychotic, Death-Obsessed Alien Kit,” Tony answers drolly.

“Huh.” Rumlow peers into the shapeless bag. “This could be…”, his voice trails of, and when he continues a moment later the word is laced with heavy implication, “useful.”

Tony smirks, cocky and challenging and deadly. “It’s designed to be,” he says in a voice that promises death and mayhem. Exactly the kind of thing his audience will go for.

Loki raises his brows, looking intrigued despite himself. “This has potential,” he admits, which is pretty much the highest compliment Tony has ever heard him give anyone.

Tony’s smirk widens but Loki isn’t done.

“Thank you, Stark,” he says, and for once his tone lacks the eternal sense of mocking Loki usually eludes. “Your aid will not be forgotten.”

It’s startling on so many levels, most importantly because Tony’s gut is telling him that Loki actually means it.

“My thanks as well,” Madame HYDRA chimes in. “When we survive this, I might just keep you.”

It should be a threat, but the self-assured way with which she says “when” instead of “if” displays a sense of optimism Tony appreciates. Or would if he wasn’t too stunned to process her words properly.

“Yeah,” Rumlow nods distractedly, still going through the contents of the bag, “what she said.”

He says the words like they’re easy, natural. They all do.

Tony—doesn’t know what to do with that. Luckily there’s a mad Titan to focus on instead.

What Happens in Vegas, Stays in Vegas

Fitz groaned as he slowly came back into consciousness and became fully aware of the pounding headache in his skull. He slowly opened his eyes and was relieved to see that the hotel room was still dark. He moved slowly as he got out of bed and made his way to the en suite bathroom, taking slow, deep breaths to try and quell the nausea. How much had he drunk last night? He was a Scotsman; he could usually hold his liquor better than this.

He relieved himself and then filled a glass with water and took two paracetamol before slowly making his way back into the bedroom. He froze just outside the bathroom door. There was someone else in his bed. He grabbed his ICER from where it had been laying on top of the dresser and cautiously made his way over to the other side of the bed where he turned on the lamp to get a good look of the person’s face. Relief flooded through him when he recognized the person in the bed as Jemma.

She let out a whimper and raised her left hand to block the light of the lamp. Something shiny was glinting on her ring finger. Fitz peered at it and furrowed his brow in confusion when he saw that she was wearing what looked like an engagement ring on her finger. It was silver with a single diamond. He held his breath as he looked down at his own left hand. A silver wedding band encircled his ring finger.

“Simmons!” Fitz said reaching out to shake her shoulder. “Simmons, wake up!”

“Fitz? What?” Jemma mumbled, opening her eyes and blinking sleepily at him. Fitz would have found it adorable if he wasn’t too busy trying to fend off a panic attack. “Did Coulson call?”

“No, listen, do you remember what we did last night?”

“Erm,” Jemma sat up and winced as she reached up to grab her forehead. “We drank a lot judging from my hangover.”

“Well, that’s not all we did,” Fitz told her, taking her left hand and holding it up so she could see the ring.

Jemma gasped and looked at Fitz’s left hand. “Fitz? Did we really…” she trailed off.

“I think so, based on the rings,” Fitz said, “but I haven’t actually looked around for any paperwork.”

“Maybe we just did it for fun?” Jemma suggested hopefully. “Not that I don’t want to legally marry you,” she quickly added. “I just want to legally marry you in a ceremony that I remember.”

“Yeah, same,” Fitz said.

“I’ll call Daisy,” Jemma decided. “Maybe she’ll remember.”

Fitz nodded and went back into the bathroom while Jemma made the phone call, his nausea finally catching up to him. When he returned, Jemma had hung up and was smiling.

“It wasn’t legal,” she told him. “Daisy said we were passing a wedding chapel and I said ‘let’s get married’ and you freaked out, so I said ‘not for real’ so we did.”

Fitz nodded and went to sit next to his pretend wife. “Well, I guess it’s true what they say,” he commented, putting his arm around her shoulders. “What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas.”

Ironically most people would have paid for the two cheaper plans for the pleasure of not having to move all their old pictures and recode everything. But 400 a year? For my icon making hobby?

IKR? I would have totally paid $30 to save me the headache. (Or, more accurately, would have growled about it, refused to pay, start fixing, noticed how much work it was, gave up, and paid.)

We knew Jen was coming back for one episode, and now we know that she only filmed for two days. Even I was expecting more from them when they had her for just one episode. It’s pathetic.

Barry and Felicity set to work, offering them their freedom in exchange for their loyalty. Now Barry is the King, Felicity is the Queen, and they run their city hand in hand. The next step? More fluffy headcanons this one courtesy of my cat: Tony adopts a kitten and falls in love. His kitten would have all the best toys.

Technically it’s still bitter Sunday, I know, but since I already posted a lot of mixed stuff today and am in desperate need of some fluff here we go. Also I’m sorry you had to wait so long for this response but thank you so much for this beautiful headcanon!! 

(I just noticed that one kitten became five, oops? But I hope you like it!)

I think I’ve mentioned it before but I headcanon Tony as someone who is terrified of having a pet, of the responsibilities that come with caring for a small animal. He never has a pet, not as a child because of his parents, and later because he can barely keep himself alive and in one (more or less complete) piece. Until he’s accidentally stumbles upon a cartoon of abandoned kittens.

And he knows he should give them up, they’re young, they’ll surely find another, better home but he’s just broken things off with Pepper and one of those tiny fur balls is rubbing it’s head against his hand and making a sound like it’s trying to purr but hasn’t quite figured out how yet and Tony’s in love.

He gets JARVIS to order whatever it is young kittens need. It takes him a while, but he figures they are around twelve weeks old which is good because they should be able to survive without their mother. After that JARVIS, sweet, beautiful AI that he is, projects some information sheets onto the nearest surface–which somehow leads to Tony shopping cat toys, and boy are there a lot of cat toys, online. Also food because his kitties–there are five of them–deserve the best food. And something warm, comfy to sleep in. (He orders seventeen different models and lets them try all of them until they make a decision. Their favourite is placed in Tony’s private suite, the others are evenly distributed thorough his personal floors.

It only occurs to him that he’s supposed to name the kittens after one of them breaks his Captain America mug and he wants to yell but there’s no name forthcoming.

And well, that’s how Mithril, Phrik, Scrith, Dilitihium and Adamant move into the Stark Tower.

(”You named your kittens after metals?”

“Fictional metals.”)

And yes, they are possibly the most spoiled cats in the Marvel universe. Mithril and Scrith are incredibly affectionate by the way, and always rub against Tony’s legs and jump on his lap or try to clim up his body. Dilithium prefers to watch them from afar and generally stroll through her territory on her own. Adamant is incredibly wary of strangers and Phrik just keeps miraculously appearing out of thin air whenever Tony so much as reaches for the cat food.

Also, just to end this on a beautifully fluffy note: Imagine the other Avengers coming back home from a long mission, only to find a sleeping Tony on the couch, four warm, purring kittens draped all over him, and one pair of glowing eyes watching them from high up on a cat tree they are 85% certain wasn’t there when they left, and one of the kittens turns its head to look at them, yawns, stretches and buries itself further against Tony’s neck.

(Everyone takes pictures. They assure each other that it’s just for blackmail purposes but really, the sight is too cute to resist.)
