Eleven x rose recs please 🥺

oh, hmmmm... most of the elevenrose i've read has been part of multi-doctor fics like connect the dots by fingersfallingupwards (a classic). also, it's been years since i read it, but i remember being a fan of out of order by lastincurableromantic. but those are, like, some of the most kudo'd elevenrose fics on ao3, so i'm probably not telling you anything new here.

have you read lastincurableromantic (lirlovesfic)'s post-JE series The Slow Path it's on AO3; anyway, i've been re-reading it and rewatching RTD era and from your TentooRose posts i just think you'd find it an excellent read (if you haven't read it already) because it actually addresses a lot of what you talk abt

i remember when it was a wip! honestly i've probably read every tentoorose fic that exists except the evil ones lol thank you!

1) a fic that made you laugh out loud 

Several in LizRamblr’s Sleepover Series - (Tentoo/Rose) particularly the Donna ones and the ones with the prior Doctors paying a visit to Rose.  I also had a few grinning moments in her Connections fic (Ten/Rose AU)  Another go to is @countessselena  fic -so many of hers are funny and uplifting.  Ohhh yes here’s one:  Our Blessed Fucking Founder Omega by notjodieyet (Thirteen/Rose/Missy)

4) a fic with a premise you’d never seen before 

I’d have to circle back to LizRamblr for coming up with a very interesting way to bring Donna into Pete’s World.  It’s in her Sleepover Series, the Tentoo and Rose part. I was so damned impressed with how she worked that in.  Very clever.

@redprotons  epic Earth’s Secret Army (Ten/Rose reunion/Torchwood Children of Earth AU)  It had been a long time since I was this engaged in a fic like this one.  I was texting a friend about it every time it updated so I had someone to fangirl over it with.  The concept of everything happening earlier before JE and  involving a combination of all the characters - Harriet’s role was phenomenal - and how the author resolved CoE was extraordinary.  I love CoE and this fic did that series justice.

I think the other author who has a gift with amazing world building is @timeladyofthesith  I read Rift House (Nine/Rose) earlier this year and it was one of those I could not put down.  I’m not really into fantasy stuff but she had such a rich concept with wonderful characters in a fascinating world, I was really sucked into the story.

I’m sure I’m leaving someone or fic off.  Apologies to anyone if I didn’t get something tagged or bookmarked well enough so I could find it. There’s some that were good but I dropped them as they had things that really bothered me.  Not bad fics, just hit squicks for me so they aren’t bookmarked etc. even though they might be great fic.  The fics I referenced were what popped out in my tags and bookmarks.

Hi! What's The Choice?? I saw it in your tags on the Doctor/Rose video post.

Oh, Nonny, if you haven’t found this fic yet, you’re in for a treat! It’s The Choice by @lastincurableromantic and the video is an (unrelated) beautiful shippy fanvid by @hostilepoet17​ , but I happened to see the vid after reading the latest (almost! to the end!) chapter of the fic, and the cross-cutting and pairing of Nine and Ten scenes gave me some 😭😭 Feelings! 

The Choice is an absolutely amazing fic, plotty adventure and love and smut and angst and timey-wimey-ness, and Mickey being awesome, and everything we could ever crave in a multi-Doctor story! Let me see if I can rec this in gif form:

I've been looking for three fics for a long time. They are all older fics, 5 years old or older. If you can't find them, that's fine, they are all pretty obscure. 1) A fic with the Doctor (either 10 or 11) where he's traveling with the Master after locking him up in the TARDIS, I think after LotTL. River was in it, all though I don't remember if it was a Doctor/River fic. She seemed to vacillate between being intrigued and being disgusted with the Master. (1/2)

More info added in 2nd ask: “The first fic was definitely on ffnet. 2) This one I remember only vaguely. It was an AU, I think that takes place in the US, and it had Nine, Ten and Rose, plus other characters. I just remember a scene where Nine was talking to Rose about Ten (one of them named John Smith I think) and encouraging her to give him a second chance I think. I believe the scene took place on an airplane. It was on either ffnet or TSP. 3) A RP fic with Matt Smith and Alex Kingston. It was on ffnet.”

The RP fic request is broad, but since @doctorroseficreclists doesn’t make RPF lists, I’ve got a list for you of some authors on ffnet who’ve written older MSxAK stories.  (These are not recs since we don’t do that; this is simply a list of the authors I found with these works listed. -EDIT TO ADD: I know @lastincurableromantic wasn’t asking for a rec list, and this isn’t meant to be one.  Just covering my bases  I found some fics that fit the description and thought, “Oh, okay, a list then!”. ;))  I hope one of them has the one you’re looking for!

47. Which episode is the scariest?

I never found myself getting scared that much while watching because I know the show doesn’t delve too far into horror, but there were certain moments that I found unsettling. Like all the woodlice in Knock Knock and the spiders in, well, Arachnids in the UK. I don’t do too well with creepy crawlies.

50. If you had a Tardis would you travel more in time or in space?

I’d just set the controls to random and hope I don’t die. :p

I totally agree with @bittie752. I thought there were some good moments in the novelization, but in general didn’t care for some of the additions and disliked the flat out changes.

Same. I really did like Rose remembering her New Year’s conversation with Ten. That gave me a brilliant plot bunny I can’t wait to write. 

But overall... no. 

One thing I didn’t mention is that I also felt like it tried too hard to be self-referential. Like, the bit with Clive having pictures of all the Doctors was mostly there to hint at the future of the show, including Thirteen. 

And Donna sleeping through everything wasn’t really necessary to this particular story. And... I know there were others that made me roll my eyes, but those two are the ones I’m remembering right now.

I wasn’t a big fan of what they added to Mickey’s back story and the deletion of the line about her reading his email. I liked his original growth arc where he went from someone who needed taken care or to someone who could take care of himself.

I was seriously disappointed by the deletion of Mickey’s email line, and the whole retconning of their relationship. Making him the devoted, faithful bf, instead of letting their relationship not be good on either side... that really changes things in ways I do not like.

Rarely do I do the thing where I mash the kudos over and over again but THE CHOICE HAS ME WRECKED @lastincurableromantic

You know when you read a fic and the voices are just  p e r f e c t, and you gasp when things happen, and roll around in the most perfect unexpected BroTP, and then the Doctor is revealing too much about himself and his feelings about Rose because molasses........IT’S LIKE THAT!

Looking for a DW/SDoaCG crossover fic I read years ago, not sure where. After losing Rose, Ten visits Belle de Jour. Adult, I think, but I couldn’t swear by it.

Is it on this list? They’re all one-shots though, I wasn’t able to find any multichaps if that’s what you were thinking... Let us know if not!
