OUR first visit to Disneyland Paris was in 2007, when the park was celebrating its 15th anniversary and our girls had just celebrated their 3rd and 1st birthdays. Being Paris, it seemed fitting that the moment we stepped out of Marne La Vallee train station , straight into the park, we fell instantly in love with the place, the cast members, everything.

The girls were filled with wonder, my eyes were filled with tears – of happiness. So, whenever we could, we took advantage of pre-school-holiday prices, kids going free followed by paying child rates, and jumped aboard the Disney Express to head to our happy place.

Our last visit was in 2010. The reason for this almost a decade gap is not because we stopped loving Disney, but because we went to Walt Disney World Florida and fell even more head-over-heels! 

But now we’re going back (yay!) to Paris, city of romance, where our love affair with Disney began. It’s daddy’s 50th birthday and our ‘babies’ are now 13 and 15, so it will be really interesting to see how much – if at all – it has changed. 

Toystoryland had just opened on on that last visit, Ratatouille was still only a movie and the girls barely remember even being there! Our eldest has vague recollections, mainly triggered by photos – of which I have gazillions!!

In the countdown, we’ve been watching vlogs and marvelling at how small and quiet the parks now seem compared to those in Orlando, which makes us even more excited about going. Also, it will be Hallowe’en (eek!), and having been before at this time, we are anticipating loads of cool spookery around the parks.

We’ve always had amazing holidays at Disney and this will be our 8th visit to Disneyland Paris. And this time, it will be one our girls will definitely not forget!
