Huh… look, I’m not even saying this proves he has no relationship with the kid, and doesn’t consider himself a grandfather to him, but what I’m saying is it’s extremely weird that Mark leans into the obvious implications of excluding the boy, knowing very well that Louis’ fandom is watching his Instagram with Eagle eyes.

I've read Lottie's autobiography and she talks about Mark's struggles with alcoholism after the divorce from Jay, and how she and her siblings including Louis didn't have contact with him for a while. Mark is sober now and his daughters see him, don't know about Louis though

This feels awfully like he’s using the speculation around the kid’s relevance in his life to farm engagement on his IG account. It’s so fucking gross.

Also it’s not like Mark shows any emotional bond whatsoever. He only reposted a temporary story of some random 1D fan account about a shirt with a name on it. Bravo!

Louis' biological father said he was an alcoholic and now Lottie has said that Louis' stepfather is as well. Two very strong influences in Louis' life - one genetic, and one who was there until he was 18. It's no wonder he drinks excessively with those figures in his life and I hope he knows when enough is enough. Louis also said in an interview that he had 'too much Yorkshire pride for therapy' which is a position that could harm him in the future as it would make him resist getting help managing his relationship with alcohol.

I don't think Louis' bio dad and Mark are "stong incfluences in Louis' life". It does make him genetically predispositioned to alcholism, but Louis seemed to be a well rounded and responsible person until he was forcibly closeted, mistreated in 1D and his mum and sister died. He didn’t drink excessivly, didn’t smoke cigs and did drugs until 2013.

I think Louis' would benefit from therapy, but we don’t know if he's ever done it or not. Saying he has too much Yorkshire pride for therapy is something to enforce his lad/indie image, so i dismiss that saying right away. He supported Fizz and went to therapy with her, and probably supports Lottie when she questions why they didn’t recieve any bereavement support after her mum passed and is working towards getting families help, and L is dating the king of promoting therapy. He's also someone who says he wears his heart on his sleeve, is openly vulnerable and not afraid to show emotions. So, i'm sorry, but i don't believe him for a second when he says he's too prideful to go to therapy. I think it's more to do with him not wanting to admit he'd benefit from it, because he's a glass half full person. He leaves the past in the past and looks forward (faith in the future). He's not dealing with his issues, just ignoring them and masking them, thinking things will gett better with time. Even if he is in therapy, that's not a magical fix, not as long as he's still closeted and have to pretend to be a dad. Things are still shit for him and we don’t know how long it's going to be this way.

I really hope things will turn around for him soon.
