Marik’s lips are as soft as the touch of rose petals when they brush against yours, almost hesitant when he tasted the shape of your mouth. You reach up with your hands, fingers curling around the baby hairs lining the nape of his neck as you coaxed him towards you, until your lips were pressed together in a bruising kiss. A small, disgruntled noise tickled the back of Marik’s throat, eyelashes fluttering over sun kissed skin as your mouths moulded together like perfect puzzle pieces.

His hands curled around your plump hips as you pushed up on the tips of your toes to chase the allure of his kiss swollen lips, your tongue teasingly licking at his bottom lip and pulling the bruised skin between your teeth. Your playfulness was part of your charm and Marik indulged you a little further as his lungs pinched in his chest, the incessant push of your lips leaving his head feeling pleasantly dizzy with bliss. You could taste him tingling on the back of your tongue every time you swallowed, a warm hum stirring in your chest as the base of your skull itched with a pleasant burn. 

You parted from the kiss for a brief moment, only to have Marik immediately chase after your lips and give you little time to breathe. But with a smile tilting your lips you happily leaned back into the touch, arms now coiled around his neck as your feet almost dangled in the air as you had to reach up to kiss him. With a short huff of air whistling past your teeth, you sighed. 

“Come closer” you complained. “I can’t reach.”

“Make me” Marik countered, your playfulness having rubbed off on him as he kissed you again. 

You rolled your eyes, gently tugging on his hair so he would stoop closer to your level. A chuckle rumbled in his throat as his arms snaked around your soft waist, tugging you closer to indulge further in the addictive touch of your lips with no plans to part anytime soon.

note: based on a dream/nightmare i had months ago! still can’t stop thinking about it because it was so creepy and vivid, but also amazing because i rarely dream of fictional characters. so, here you ago!

All you can hear is the sound of your heartbeat, racing and intensifying with each breath as you run.

Your clothes cling to your form, wet from the rain that rages outside, and your feet feel uncomfortable inside the puddle of water that has built up inside your shoes. All in all, everything was horribly wrong — and the thunder in the distance roars as if in ironic agreement.

It is awfully cold, and the fog limits your vision. You never quite know where to turn, where to run and to hide, except when you are too close to a possible exit, nearly tripping on your own feet and on the mud beneath your soles. Every direction you turn to feels familiar, as if you had already run past it for the millionth time. You feel like you have been running in circles, stuck in a maze whilst unwillingly playing a game of cat and mouse.

It feels — and perhaps, it truly is — impossible to craft a perfect plan to escape from whatever is chasing your shadow, as it has been for what seems to be an eternity.

Your throat is burning, and each gulp feels dry. Whatever air you breathe and inhale, it feels too little, too light, and your legs are screaming for you to stop. But, you know you can’t stop.

Please, make it stop.

You cut abruptly to the alley that appears on your left, sparing a glance over your shoulder and immediately regretting it.

There is a silhouette — tall and haunting. Its steps, as it follows you, are slow, not unlike a predator’s. It’s as if that person (or whatever the hell it was) feels assured of its victory, assured that it can catch you, regardless of what you do.

In a split second, the light from a lighting post reaches its face and you see a calm but unnatural smile on its lips, wild lavender eyes narrowed in what reminds you of amusement. It does nothing but send a shiver down your spine.

So, you continue running. You run and you run, because, what else can you possibly do?

A chuckle echoes through the air, and you flinch instinctively. It’s as if it could hear your very thoughts. It could hear your thoughts and it could most definitely smell your fear, plausible in the air. Was your fear its goal, its motivation? Did it wish to drive you insane, make you beg for mercy once you had grown yourself too tired to move a single muscle? Did it aim to kill you, slit your throat and watch as you gag on your own blood, laughing as it towers over your corpse?

Please.

Stop this.

You turn right, ignoring how distinctively familiar the street looks — because, at this point, you are out of your mind, and you just want to put an end to everything.

But, fear can force people into making irrational decisions, which could have been avoided if they paid better attention to details they had noticed moments prior. Maybe, if your fear hadn’t taken over you, if your fatigue hadn’t begun to scream louder, you would have long remembered that this alleyway had already been labelled by your weakened brain as a very, very bad decision.

An imposing barrier stands in front of you.

This is it, your mind tells you.

This can’t be it, you argue.

But, in the end, there is absolutely nothing you can do.

Perhaps an eye trick, but the brick wall seems to grow a bit more, towering over your shaking body and mocking. Your chest hurts and you put a hand over your heart, shaking on your own feet as your legs struggle to keep your body upright for just one more moment. You take a step closer to the wall, and then another.

You nearly trip over your own feet again, as you approach the wall, and you place your hands over it, as if expecting it to be a mere illusion. You clench your fists, upon feeling the texture of the wall to be too rough, too real, and your nails scratch uselessly against it.

Please.

A beat, and footsteps.

You spin.

The silhouette stands at the opposite end of the alleyway. The moonlight draws its contour, and a flash of golden brings your eyes to an object on its right hand. However, you don’t dwell much on it.

No, you don’t.

Because as the reality of the situation begins to close on you, as you realize that this is truly the end for you, you find no strength to remain on your feet. Your back hits the wall and your knees shake one last moment as the figure takes one long but slowly taunting step in your direction.

‘Please,’ you whimper out loud, ignoring the metallic taste in your mouth.

The golden object glints in the moonlight, as it raises its right arm and—

You wake up.

His pet names are always themed with his past. He can't help it! On the brightside tho he says with such love an adoration that you love them each time he says it.

He is also fine with any pet name you give him. The first time you called him babe he awnsered with his charming smile and fait blush.

Weird enough his is more fairytale themed. Something about the knigh and his prince/princess makes him giddy. He uses them only around you though.

He does it so often that you fall into the habit of calling him fairytale themed pet names. It oddly sometimes feel like your role playing, but that's okay.

He honestly much for pet names. He likes the sound of your name rolling of his lips more then pet names. Though he has been know to give a few simple ones.

Marik was your first love

His personality drew you in, the way he dressed drew you in, the way he carried himself, his looks, just...him.

It turned into a sort of "will they wont they?" if you two were going to be a thing. You both liked each other, it was obvious you did, but the actual initiation of a relationship hadn't happened

You were devastated when he turned out to be bad and began hurting your friends

You had decided to abandon anything you could have had with Marik, and focused on beating him to save your friends

Marik wanted so badly to reconcile with you after battle city, but he got scared and went back home without saying anything to you personally

Fast forward some odd years, and you're engaged to Kaiba

You had been dating for some years and your wedding date was around the corner

Marik was back in town since Yugi had told him about the engagement, and the upcoming engagement party. He planned on congratulating both you and Seto at said party

But when he saw you...oh my God, it was like all the feelings he had years prior came rushing back to him. You looked so beautiful doing literally anything, he couldn't keep his eyes off of you

He’d want to do a couple costume thingy and go trick or treating, or at least something matching, so it would both be spooky and fun.

He’d insist on trying on the Ouija Board, and if he’s feeling a bit vulnerable, would try to talk to his dead sister, mother or father.
