and that outlet ended up being a passionate kiss from maribelle, after she repeatedly yelled at you to shut up

somehow her lips ended up on yours and the two of you found yourself making out for a few minutes, before pulling away flustered

you were supposed to hate each other, though by how passionate those kisses were, you both knew that hate was not what you truly felt for each other…

Hello! Can I ask you for some romantic headcanons for comics lackadaisy Wes Clyde.

Incredibly based of u to request lackadaisy PLUS a fairly new/minor(?) Character im very fond of. also uhh oops this ended up being some additional dating HCs as well?

No warnings, reader is intended to be femme.

So - it's easy to get Wes' attention. He likes a pretty face and he frequents places that are full of them - not just the Marigold speakeasy he works for, but other illicit bars and dance halls. It's a special thing for him to keep interested in a particular person, especially when his job has him out at all hours.

His more old-fashioned side comes out, first of all! He wants to be the protector. He wants to have his pretty thing on his arm while they walk down the boulevard, he wants to open doors for them and surprise them by sending flowers.

Yes, this is totally against the persona he has to wear for work. Being with someone allows him to be gentler and more vulnerable, something Wes didn't realize he needed. Going out on the town is fun, but he prefers places his fellow gangsters don't frequent so the dates are more private. When he's totally comfortable, he likes to hold your hand and kiss your knuckles. He likes bringing you close during dances and all but pulling you onto his lap during dinners. If he were around his 'associates', this sort of affection wouldn't be possible.

(That said, no matter how nice the date spot is, he always ends up looking like a gangster... his face doesn't help).

He's excellent at remembering things you like and notices when you admire something. You'll get a modest-looking package at work or home, and it's a charmimg bracelet or necklace you had your eye on. The flowers are ones you've mentioned liking, the date spots are places you mentioned wanting to go to, etc.

(If you compliment Wes on how attentive and romantic he is, he becomes unusually flustered. This is also why your flowers and gifts arrive by mail rather than in person; your happy face will just send him into a fluttery, painfully sentimental and sappy mood. Just thinking about your reaction makes him bury his face in his paws.)

((Though there's a total double standard where he loves flustering you, especially if you're tough to impress.))

The petnames will start to show up after dating for a few months. There's the classic "doll" and "sweetheart", though they sound a little different when he says it. Warmer and more affectionate than you've heard before, perhaps. He starts to use those in lieu of your name, with "kitten" is exclusively for flirting and messing around. For himself, he prefers his name, but isn't adverse to endearments.

If you were the type who was really into the gangster life ... wellll, maybe he'll drive you around the backroads in one of Marigold's souped up bootlegging cars and intimidate some assholes for you. He'll play the part for a while if it pleases you - but for the most part, his work and personal life is separate. No way is he introducing you to his gang members, nor would he want you hanging around the Maribel Hotel. Even if you frequented their establishment before, he'd want you to stay away once the relationship is more serious.

A few reasons for this. Wes likes his privacy, he doesn't trust his fellow gangsters worth a damn (just them looking at you for too long will lead to their nose getting bashed or their ears being boxed) and he wants you to be safe. He's been in the game long enough to know his feelings are a liability, and you can be used as leverage.

He's also not a domestic sort of cat. Being introduced to parents or taking homemade dinners at home is a bit too far and will lead to cold feet. That's something that would have to come very slowy, but he's also a realist. Wes has a dangerous job, one that most don't approve of. He doesn't want to bring danger on your doorstep, or worse - you having to choose between him and a more "normal" life and partner. Because as tough as he is, the thought of being left because he's a lowlife and dangerous hurts. He won't mention any of these concerns, but it's the thoughts that drift around when you try to be more serious and committed about the relationship. Wes' response is usually a gruff, "Ain't it fine the way it is, doll?"

but my all time favorite may hc of all time is so specific and niche and probably proven wrong in canon, but i like to think that may is actually her middle name. literally forever ago me and my friends were doing middle name headcanons and i came up with the idea that May went by her middle name and i liked the idea that her first name is also something that starts with an M, i liked the idea of Maribel idk why lol. but it’s one of those headcanons i legitimately forget i made up and isn’t real because i have been thinking about it since 2020.

listen. listen lon'qu and lissa and parents makes me so so so soft. Like, owain deeeeeefinitely got his personality from both his parents but like. amped up to 11. Lissa's love of a prank? Owain's commitment to the bit. Lon'qu's dramatic reactions? Owain's entire theatre-kid deal.

also i feel like, given everything that happened in the other timeline, owain took it upon himself to be the comedy relief, you know? So he dialled his natural tendency towards being a lil dramatic and loud right up.

Anyway. So Lon'qu taught Owain was taught how to use a sword, hence why they're both swordmasters. Lon'qu really does not Get his son's whole persona thing, but I think Owain isn't quite so over the top around his parents -- at least in the game timeline. He tones it down around them because, unlike in his original time, he doesn't feel like he has to make them laugh the same as he used to. Doomed-timeline Lon'qu definitely laughed at his son's antics, but game-timeline Lon'qu is mostly just confused by them, at first. He doesn't have the history or understanding behind it. All the same, once they get to know each other, Lon'qu does start to get it. He becomes increasingly like doomed-timeline Lon'qu (and doesn't that just cause so many confusing emotions for Owain). He's a lil emotionally stunted, but having a son brings it out of him a bit.

Lissa was actually the parent that Owain knew for longer, so it's weirder for him. The Lissa in the game-timeline is very different to the mother that he knew, so he feels a bit awkward at first. Also.... Owain being a dark mage in Fates... I know Lissa's a cleric BUT hc that she's the one who taght him magic. (He can also use an axe bc she taught him, but he's not as good with it. He prefers swords. They're more elegant and he thinks they look cooler.)

Also lastly... lon'qu x lissa relationship dynamics... she's just the right amount of pushy for him -- she gets him out of his comfort zone in a good way, challenges him. He keeps her steady. She soothes his anxieties and he soothes hers. They meet equally in the middle. Insert something upsetting about Lissa losing the firmest presence in her life when Emm died. Something upsetting about how Chrom couldn't be there for her, because he was caught up in his own shit, so Lissa had Maribelle and, suddenly, Lon'qu.

i was pacing around my house thinking of some parts of this. primarily:

i don't show it enough in my fics because a lot of my fics are fates focused or au focused for convenience sake so i want the awakening trio to be hanging out way more and have had their growth but canonically before awakening they really like. Do Not Associate.

i think of this for so many of the awakening kids in general but like. they all travel through time together. they go through something like the future past DLC together. their lives depend on each other so much. most of them cannot stand each other.

inigo and owain Do Not fucking get along and never have really until fates when they're both adults and even then they're ribbing each other. there's no doubt to me that they have gotten into a physical fight at least once before. or they avoid each other and are extremely rude when forced to work together outside life or death scenarios. especially pre-awakening.

in their supports owain tries to be nice to severa repeatedly and she goes out of her way to be extra rude to the point that he has a crises about being weird. and even if their s support isnt' canon, severa notes that owain was always nice to her and she struggled with being nice back throughout their lives

inigo and severa don't get along either. inigo is trying to be “nice”/build his confidence of talking to others with compliments, but he's genuinely condescending and quite rude and doesn't listen to severa telling him to stop talking to her like that.

note: severa actively goes out of her way to be mean to a lot of people back then. she's not easy to get along with. (interestingly she tells noire she only does this to take people down a peg and doesn't do it to people with no self esteem like noire. (similar to niles in a way. to be explored later.)

These people are Not Close and they are not each other's first choices to hang out. and they probably were aware of each other in childhood but much more aware when they're older.

owain's childhood friends were probably the Justice Cabal (morgan/marc, cynthia, brady by virtue of maribelle being besties with lissa)

severa canonically hung with noire to the point where noire grew up relying on her. i suspect she hung with the girls most of all. (Edit: to clarify I think she gravitates towards the other girl kids most like Noire or Lucina but I don’t know that she’s actually close to any of them besides maybe Noire and even then, she’s taking on a caretaker role there. And she pushes everyone else away with insults and cruelty. She’s sort of like a mirror of Inigo to me.)

inigo... i'm not sure he has any close childhood friends. which could be attributed to maybe living in Regna Ferox with Olivia if you believe they went with basilio after the first war. or maybe learning early on to hide his real self early on so he never lets anyone get close. he clearly Cares about everyone in a 'won't let anyone die if he can help it/won't let them die alone (gerome/owain)' kind of way but is he Close with them? I don't think so. not until Awakening and he has A supports

in my hc i always assume everyone reaches their A supports in awakening and then fates happens but like. what if they didn't? and then they're in nohr together like. three people who have had their lives changed together and like. you hardly know what foods these people like. you can hardly be in the same room for longer than 15 minutes.

it makes me think of an erased au i need to get back to that is somewhat of a relationship study between severa/owain/inigo as teens/preteens who really don't get along but even then I don't think i'm making them as rude or cruel to each other as I know they probably can be in their worst, most immature moments.

to be clear i love them getting along/growing up (obviously since that's what I write most) but i think about this Growth period a lot.

Insane over the awakening trio again. We fought a war together, saved each other multiple times, and I know for a fact I can trust you with my life. We have never learned to socialize normally so we can't interact in a normal environment for five seconds without dunking on each other. I would follow you through time and space and abandon everything with you. You are the living reminder of every awful thing that have ever happened to me. Our traumas make us hurt each other at every turn. We're the only ones who know what lead to each other becoming Like That. I read it a fic once somebody's hc that Santana's parents were both named Lopez, as that's a very common latino last name and that when Santana couldn't decide if she was going to change her last name when she was marrying brit one of her parents jokingly tells her this wouldn't have happened if she married her own kind. I thought that was funny and kind of rude, which made it sound exactly like glee lmfao

Lmao. Funny and kind of rude, yeah that checks out as the Glee mood. I don't think there's a definitive canon confirmation whose mother Abuela Alma is and her name is Lopez, so it is possible that Maribel's maiden name is... also Lopez. But I personally like the interpretation that Alma is Dr. Lopez's mother and Maribel has a different surname. They already made the "everyone is called Lopez" joke when Abuela guest starred on Queso Por Dos.

Not to be nitpicky about someone's HC and fic because yeah that's valid but I don't see Maribel as the kind of person who'd make that joke. We have n o t h i n g about Santana's dad in canon but it doesn't really fit my view of him, either. That feels weirdly segregationist and the Lopez family just doesn't strike me as one who'd even jokingly be like "haha we're Latinos we only associate with Latinos." Sounds like a parody of West Side Story so I mean it does work with A Boy Like That's lyrics. Interesting HC though thanks for sharing Anon. I personally have a different version of the Lopezes in my head and imagine them to have a different kind of relationship with both Santana and Brittany.

The Family Madrigal Head canons!!

- Camilo used all pronouns but they usually use he/they

- every cousin is queer

- mirabel is pan, luisa and dolores are bi, isabella is lesbian, bruno is homoromantic asexual, camillo is genderqueer and doesn't know about his sexuality yet but just says he "isn't straight" lol

- nobody has truly forgiven alma yet for how she treated bruno and mirabel (and that's actually one of the few critics from the movie i had: it wasn't long enough to show how they could've forgiven her or at least start to heal) not saying she didn't traumatize everyone who is genetically related to her, but mirabel and bruno were definitely discriminated against all the time (bruno: bad luck gift and mirabel: no gift)

- casita, after dolores got her gift, made all of the rooms in the house soundproof. so dolores room is 100% soundproof and as long as other's doors are shut, they dolores can't hear anyone in their room. (im pretty sure this is somewhat cannon because the only reason she heard mirabel tell her dad about the vision is bc her door was cracked and dolores was out of her room. so)

- Bruno has major anxiety (honestly what madrigal doesn't) and depression disorder. he def also has ocd and paranoia

- mirabel tried to run away after not reviving her door but her and bruno left within 5 minutes of each other (bruno in a temporary panic and mirabel in an upset sprint). mirabel eventually passed out somewhere in the forest due to emotional, mental, and physical fatigue and bruno came across her while just pacing the forest deciding on whether or not he should go back. bruno carried mirabel back to casita after finding her and casita helped sneak both of them in and bruno out mirabel to bed and then asked casita if he could live in the walls to help continue to look after mirabel

- antonio wanted mirabel to go with him because he was scared and because he felt bad and wanted mirabel to also experience what it was like getting a door although she never will :,)

- the kids (dolores, luisa, camilo, isabella (and every now and then bruno) have little sleepovers / group therapy sessions after casita is rebuilt(the only reason antonio is not involved is because he is always passed out by the time they make it to mirabels room and they don't want to wake him)

- bruno sick!fic of 5+1 times that dolores helped bruno while he was sick and 1 time bruno helped dolores while she was ( def will be writing this at some point)

- julieta actually only cooks for when someone in town needs healing food or someone in casita does. other than that? she doesn't like to cook because she once used it as a hobby and get away from alma but now it's stressful. agustín is actually the one who cooks a lot (when his wife isn't having to heal him) because he grew up in a large family and always helped his mama cook :) now, though, because alma has laid off some pressure, she has begun to enjoy cooking again

- pepa usually gets angry in private and her room actually caters to that and allows her to become angry because her powers are somehow gone when she enters her room. like they just don't work anymore lol. although she still gets angry outisde of her room, she lets out most of it when she returns to it

- luisa's room is a bunch of weightlifting stuff and after casita was rebuilt, it was still some weightlifting stuff but turned into a de-stressing bedroom and she always has things that are usually ads online to de-stress (like lavender oils, fidget toys, etc)

- isabella started to wear different things and mismatched things after casita was rebuilt and gave any clothes she didn't want anymore to camillo (who actually tried them on right infront of isabella and allowed her to do their make up and everyone in the family called them very pretty)

- camilos room before the destruction of casita was one with a lot of mirrors and clothing but other than that it was a relatively normal room but after casita was rebuilt it was one with a lot of new clothes, some mirrors, and little knickknacks that camilo had collected over the years and things that are on display gifted to them from mirabel

- whenever the family is around dolores or when they know she is having a bad day, they whisper and always try not to fight. if they do, they usually politely excuse themselves and yell at eachother in a bedroom

- after one particularly bad day that ends with dolores passed out from all of the noises, the family starts learning SSL (spanish sign language) so on the days dolores has it really bad, they can all sign (yes dolores learns too)

- bruno's room was the one that changed the most post-casita breaking. he no longer had stairs and his room was actually very nice and relaxing and had windows so he could see behind the house. he made sure to keep the room clean and had an area just for the rats too. he also kept a shelf for his visions and had a specific area just for making them.

- bruno has 'vision' types of prophecies (kinda like jedis ig) where he'll have a prophecy vision out of nowhere (not nearly as visable as when hes doing one purposefully) but he won't be able to make out much and usually will try and finish it and make a green tablet of it when he's able to. suppressing visions gives him migraines that his sisters usually helped him through when he was younger. when bruno went into hiding, though, his migraines got so bad he passed out for 3 days straight due to a constant migraine and so he usually did little visions at night, looking at things like what was for lunch the next day or what presents one of the kids would get for their birthdays so he wouldn't have to have a major migraine like that again

- when mirabel didn't get her gift, camilo was wrecked because he legitimately thought he used up all the magic and mirabel, the next day after being returned to her bed by bruno, had to promise him that it wasn't his fault and that he didn't use up all of the magic

- bruno - major insomniac. when he disappeared, julieta was distressed bc she was so used to making him cookies at night to help him sleep. although he 'left' julieta continued to make then anyway and eventually realized one or two would be missing. so she always held on to the hope bruno was at least nearby and always made a small batch and 'hid' them in the corner of the kitchen just in case

- camilos anxiety is especially bad on days where they do multiple shifts. it got so bad once that he had to go to mirabel to make sure that they were real and alive and mirabel had to comfort him and calm them down from their panic attack

- bruno is so so so so soooooo touchstarved. after casita was rebuilt he really wouldn't let anyone but his sisters and mirabel touch him for a solid 3-5 months :,)

- camilo helps julieta or agustín whenever they're in the kitchen cooking because he's able to use it as a de-stressed and not have to think about much other than making sure the ingredient measurements are correct and he doesn't burn anything

- mirabel sews outfits for the rats for the telanovelas
