Unpopular opinion on slashers/fictional killers

I play dbd on a daily basis with my friends, sometimes alone. And we all share this one same opinion that some seem to not agree with me. In just a few weeks Springtrap will be added, and we're not so excited about it as others.

I'm not a huge fnaf fan but i know some things. William Afton is Springtrap and if you know dbd you know hes in the robotic suit and plays as a killer. William killed children, also his own daughter (by accident i believe) and was also a neglectful and abusive father towards her. All in all, if youre a fan of his, fine.

Hes a fictional character/killer. You can be a fan of them, like or love them, obsess over them and romanticize them for all i care. I'm not much different after all. But for me it stops at 2 points. 1. Dont idolize them, copy them or copy any of their behavior or acts. 2. If their child murders...

William Afton killed children, i simply not like him for this reason, i think its understandable and acceptable. But there are still people out there who think hes sooo hot and what not. Fictional killers can do what they want, after all its fictional. So you can like them too, since their only fictional they did no real harm. But my own stop line is when there are children involved, its just my personal border.

Still, even with Springtrap in the game, i would not quit the game or any match with him. Its fictional and i accept it all. But not when people say they love him (romantically or not) and think hes hot. That's a whole different kinda story.

But there's and even worse one, Freddy Krueger. Its a fact he is a child m0lest0r and even if its all fictional, there are still people out there who think hes hot, write some Freddy x Reader FF about him and all. Like, did they forget his plot? What he's about? Hes literally children's nightmares and you wanna kiss this margharita pizza fr?

For me, this is the worst line to be crossed and i don't get why people think Freddy is cool and/or wanna romanticize him.

I don't think I've seen anyone share their opinions on this before so I'd like to know what you think of it because it had me quite upset for a while now. You can also criticize me or anything, i really would appreciate any feedback ♡
