#bestdecision is today’s prompt for #marchmeetthemaker2022 - tough one. When it comes to my sanity saving creative life, I would have to say my best decision was tea bowls. They are not “hot” sellers. I know most of you would rather I make mugs (big thank you to my tea bowl fans out there! 💜💜💜) But I literally dream of making tea bowls. The way they fit in the shape of my hand to form them, the relaxed wave of the rim, even the way the foot is a handle in a tea ceremony so it needs a gentle curve to hold. Every little part has a purpose and requires attention, right down to the exact angle of the drip line to control the glaze movement. I could not make two the same if I tried. Someday I will do another One Hundred Tea Bowls project. I loved writing my book and am in the process of planning another one on advanced thread painting. Today's #MarchMeetTheMaker prompt is Hands at Work. This is a poster the fabulous @calyx.design made for me ages ago. I sent him a ton of photos my partner took while I worked and he drew these clear and awesome versions! March Meet The Maker #9 Hands at work I remember this was one of the prompts from the first year I did March Meet The Maker! I also remember it is rather difficult to take a photo of one’s own hands! 😂 Therefore I am going to cheat and re-use this shot that I used the first time! #MarchMeetTheMaker Day 31: Looking Forward The last day of the #marchmeetthemaker challenge on Instagram, thanks to @joannehawker for setting the challenge prompts. I am Looking forward to all the challenges life has thrown at me in the last five years to be coming to a close, I can see the light at the end of the tunnel but that tunnel sure is long! New challenges approach this year, one being my Husband is retiring from work and I am not sure if that is going to be helpful or a hindrance, we'll see😆 I look forward to trying out more new crafts, the card in the picture is one I made at our local craft club meeting last night. A belated day 4 for #MarchMeetTheMaker2022 Friday’s prompt was “3 things…” There are soo many trios I could share but let’s go with my 3 favourite things to forage for on a woodland walk 🌲 acorns, pinecones, and mushrooms! 🍄 At the end of last year, I was really happy to be able to go back to the Edinburgh Printmakers and start screen printing again. Today's #MarchMeetTheMaker prompt is Favorite, so here's one of my favorite repair projects! This was a family's daily-use copy of the Guru Granth Sahib. It was my first massive book, and so pretty. The paper was so so so good, soft and thick, but the binding was thin and fell apart. I hadn't learned all the wisdom @saveyourbooks imparted to me working on big Bibles, but I did pretty well I think. Hello, how are we already a week through March?! #MarchMeetTheMaker Day 29: New v Old On the left you have new'ish photos and on the right from 2015 when I first started out. I am still making a lot of the same products although there have been a few tweaks here and there but displaying my products for photos have improved I think. The old bedsheet over the sofa has gone😆, it has been replaced by white foamboards.
