I like the Pixling dolls a lot, they're very cute and fantastical (and not high school based, ha ha ha), but I just wish they didn't come with such wasteful packaging. Haven't bought any because of this, but would love to find some while thrifting.

this is my plan for how i'm going to package the bugborg pins when they finally go on sale! every pin will get a backing card (not pictured) and then go into one of these little casette tape cases :)
also. yes this is why i was asking for bugborg song recs a few weeks ago! as soon i decided i wanted to do this i knew i had to commit to the bit and go all out so. bugborg tracklist let's goooo. all songs were compiled into an actual playlist too so i'll post a link to that for ease of music perusing when i post the full art for the cover :>

Ask Game AU: Where Nao grow suspicious of her husbands "friend" and his constant need to involve himself in their lives so she does her own investigation of the man.
1- Nao was glad, at first, that Kotaro was befriending people at work. He's always been slow to trust. With this friend, though, he wasn't. Kotaro ended up working later, and when he wasn't, going out to dinner or drinks with his coworker. Nao didn't want to bring anything up, didn't want to discourage him, and it wasn't like she had been abandoned to watch Hana all day by herself- her parents were there, and Kotaro wasn't out every single night. Just a lot of them.
2- Still, she doesn't say anything, until one night, Kotaro is back and in bed next to her, only a bit of wine left on his lips, when he brings up trying for a second child. She stares at him, and he withdraws, but she tells him it wasn't a bad thing- just, she had no idea he was thinking about it. They were both only children, and Kotaro had spent some years in a home with many other kids and didn't speak fondly of the experience. Kotaro tells her his friend brought it up, is all, and Nao nods, but is more worried.
3- Kotaro's office is hardly difficult to find things in. She discovers that he was the one to hire his friend, which she notes is weird, because he never mentions that detail. The address on record for him doesn't seem to be a place someone lives. The numbers on his bank account are... fine. But she doesn't find any trace of him online. She asks a few questions to Kotaro here and there, what his friends qualifications were, where he went to school. He's not even found there, on any list of graduates or alum forums. It's odd. but maybe he is just very private.
4- Hana brings up having a little sibling. Nao asks her if her father said anything, and she says no, they had a substitute teacher that day who'd told some stories and said he used to have a little brother. When Kotaro comes home late from work, he's unaware of what his daughter said when Nao asks if he's been thinking about it still. He says he has, and she says she still doesn't know. Two kids after all is a lot of work. and he's not home very often anymore.
5- Nao looks at the package of pills, the last row of seven, and opens her next box instead. She's done it before, once, for a vacation to the beach. She'd spotted a little then, but this time its more. Her birth control's been tampered with. Kotaro couldn't have done it, she'd just gotten the new box the day before she'd opened it and what'd he know anyway about it? What had that pharmacist looked like? Perhaps it was a defect, something she should notify the manufacturer about. She resolves to do so. Kotaro doesn't eat dinner with them that night, and when she asks how it went, he tells her that his friend told him such a funny story about his little brother, listen, he'll tell her and she'll laugh. She asks about the brother, Kotaro goes quiet and says his friend talked about him in the past tense. He's got enough dead family of his own to not press more than that. But really, the story was funny. Nao thinks about Hana's substitute- but clearly, Kotaro's friend was at work that day, must be another coincidence. In a line of many bad ones. Kotaro asks her if she'd like a second child. Nao thinks she might have, before all this. Now, she isn't sure what she'd like. Instead, she tells him that he barely sees Hana. is he really sure that he wants another kid? Kotaro goes quiet again, realizes she's right. He offers to take the next day off. Nao tells him she just wants him home on time for dinner.
+1- Kotaro agrees, and the next day Nao's parents watch Hana for an hour while she meets with her friend Shirota Akiho at the park. Akiho gives Nao a hug, and an unopened box of birth control. She tells her that her sister Beru's bridal shower is in a few weeks, and she can give her another box then. She agrees everything sounds weird- but Kotaro probably isn't to blame. Nao goes home. Kotaro on time for dinner that day. But he realizes when he reacts to Hana telling him she is playing heroes before bed (and Nao and Hana react to his reaction) that maybe he should spend more time at home before welcoming someone else into it.

To the geniuses who design blood glucose monitors,
if you're gonna design a product that runs on button cell batteries that only come in safety packaging, for the love of all that is good in this world, don't just stop at making the battery compartment spring loaded. Include a battery status monitor that gives a warning before someone needs to get their fasting blood sugar and has potentially already stabbed themselves and wasted a test strip.
Just a little beep after the last viable test will do.
Yes, I know CGMs exist. They are, at the time of writing, not accurate enough to do away with their predecessors unless someone is only diabetic and taking only diabetes medication. And 35 bucks a week. And defeated by bluetooth errors.
Kind regards, Massive side eye,
Done with this shit

I'm guessing you might've gotten some super fans in your results; those types will often buy a lot of merch, if not for themselves but others they're close with. It can be common with indie fandoms that doesn't get a lot of coverage; even more if their favorite character is one hardly ever liked. Anyways, pretty cool to see the results! Take all the time you need!
Yeah, that's what I was starting to figure. For as frugal as I am, even I am more likely to buy merch of the characters that don't normally get a lot (shout-out to my single Mr. Game & Watch pin), so I'm trying to accept that this is the reality. It's just so alien to me to actually be behind this sort of thing, but I guess customer behavior is something I'll pick up on with time and experience.
And thank you~ I imagine that I won't actually start production for at least another month, and maybe even longer. But unlike every other time that I've had a flimsy idea and just let it fall to the wayside, I really wanna make this happen, so I'll do my best to make sure this goes well! ^o^

i see that you're opening pre-orders for a p5r zine!!! i just wanted to ask how long you think it will take for the zine to go from end of preorder to ready to ship (if you've had previous experience printing a zine like this/if you know) (im new to following your work!) i already saw the estimate for shipping worldwide, which isn't an issue at all. i just will be moving next week and want to be sure i will be able to get it while im moved (since i will be there for only a year)! again, if you dont know, no worries! just thought i'd check :) have a lovely day!!!
this is my first time actually printing and selling something physically like this, But from my previous experience with the manufacturers i'm using (by which i mean printing the first two dozen copies of the comics i sold before doing preorders) i'm expecting the production to take about 1 to 3 weeks (worst case scenario. i hope). so if there's no issues along the way, i'll be ready to start shipping by mid-late september!
the only thing i cannot control or give a perfect prediction of though is how long it will take for the package to reach you. the estimate given to me by the post office was "from 2 weeks to 3 months". but if you're going to be there for a year it Should be fine? fingers crossed
thank you for your interest!! hope you have a good day as well!

Link to the court document here
From the Guardian article:
Houston-based Inhance manufactures an estimated 200m containers annually with a process that creates, among other chemicals, PFOA, a toxic PFAS compound. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in December prohibited Inhance from using the manufacturing process.
But the conservative fifth circuit court of appeals court overturned the ban. The judges did not deny the containers’ health risks, but said the EPA could not regulate the buckets under the statute it used. The rule requires companies to alert the EPA if a new industrial process creates hazardous chemicals. Inhance has produced the containers for decades and argued that its process is not new, so it is not subject to the regulations. The EPA argued that it only became aware that Inhance’s process created PFOA in 2020, so it could be regulated as a new use, but the court disagreed.
Inhance said in a statement its “technologies … keep thousands of tons of harmful chemicals and fuels out of the environment, preserve product quality, and ensure compliance with many global regulations”. However, the company in 2021 admitted the creation of PFAS is “an unavoidable aspect” of its process [...]
