manorian x reader, Reader and Dorian make Manon dress up for Halloween
ambush
Manorian x Reader
Warnings: none
A/N: lmao I love this, but idk if I'd have the courage to do it, here's a little drabble!
Manon glared at you and Dorian. You’d planned this ambush, or at least a few days thought into it. All of the mirrors were covered, courtesy of Dorian’s magic so she couldn’t see or rip any coverings away.
“It’s a holiday Manon.” You emphasized.
“A stupid one.”
Dorian held a hand up to his chest in mock offense. “You’re going to deny us our fun?”
“There’s nothing fun about this.”
“Don’t ruin my favorite holiday,” you pouted, crossing your arms. Dorian was fighting a laugh from behind her. Manon let out a noise of discontent and rolled her eyes before agreeing, making sure you both knew she wasn’t happy about this idea. You rubbed your hands together in glee, and she started looking rightfully worried.
You gripped her shoulders lightly, directing her to a chair, and started working.
“Close your eyes,” you insisted, grabbing some supplies to start painting her face. Those burnt gold eyes narrowed, but closed and you began.
Dorian slipped behind her, pulling the headband down around her hair, you grabbed her wrists before she could pull it off - carefully angling your hands around the iron nails.
She let out an angry hiss as she looked into the mirror. “A cat?”  “You’re already acting the part.” Dorian said wryly. The snarl echoing through the room was enough to send you running, Dorian yelling traitor, at your back as Manon turned her attention on him.

Summary: Manon and Dorian celebrate Halloween together for the first time
Tumblr media
Dorian Havilliard was finally beginning to understand that Manon had been serious when she’d uttered the words I don’t play Halloween. This was the first holiday they would spend together, and Dorian knew he’d be in for a rough month when his girlfriend had woken up on October 1st, a disturbing smile on her face, and declared the day to be the first of Halloween.
Manon was slightly terrifying on any given day, but Manon during the spookiest month of the year…Dorian suppressed a shudder at the thought of how she practically buzzed with giddy excitement.
And how his girlfriend, it seemed, went all out with everything.
Stepping into the kitchen, which had been transformed into the lab of a mad scientist, Dorian filled the giant bowl standing on the counter with candy for any trick-or-treaters that might dare knock on their door.
Normal people usually went with one theme when decorating their home, but theirs looked like a haunted mansion, a new theme in every room. Their garden was now a graveyard, the downstairs bathroom could have passed for an asylum, the living room was a murder scene, the hallway was filled with your average spider webs and skeletons, and in the kitchen, there were jars filled with very realistic eyes, creepy, rusty instruments hanging on the walls and vials with green smoke coming out of them. Manon had assured him whatever she was brewing was perfectly safe, «just don’t, under any circumstance, ingest it.»
Not playing, indeed.
One would think having Aelin Galathynius as a friend for most of his life would make him immune to anything spooky, since Halloween practically was a religion to her, but compared to Manon, it was all child’s play. No surprise those two had gotten along so quickly.
Throughout the month, they’d watched more horror movies together than Dorian had his whole life, and every day, Manon found new, creative ways to scare him shitless.
Dorian often wondered how he hadn’t had an actual heart attack yet, with all the ways she’d managed to make him scream in horror, whether that was by jumping out from behind doors or placing severed limbs in the fridge. Not even work was safe, since they were both teachers at the same high school.
He couldn’t help but look a little forward to tomorrow, when it would all be over, their lives back to normal. Of course, he would never tell Manon that. As much as he hated being scared, the look of complete and utter glee on her face whenever she managed to scare him made up for it.
It wasn’t that Dorian didn’t like Halloween, either, they just had completely different views on how to best spend it. His ideal Halloween meant watching a cozy movie like Halloweentown or A nightmare before Christmas while shamelessly eating a ridiculous amount of candy. Manon’s motto seemed to be the more macabre, the better.
But instead of complaining, Dorian looked forward to Christmas, when he would guilt her into partaking in every cheesy, fluffy tradition there was while feeling the joyous spirit of Christmas. He could already picture how hard Manon would roll her eyes at all the Hallmark movies he planned to show her.
After filling up the huge bowl of candy, Dorian stepped out into the hallway, placing it on the console table next to the door. Hopefully he would get to eat most of it by the end of the night, since he doubted anyone were brave enough to walk up to their dark, old house. He sure as shit wouldn’t have been.
As he passed the large, full-length mirror, Dorian couldn’t help the satisfied look on his face. He’d done an excellent job with his costume this year. A sheer blouse, a pair of high-waisted black pants, golden jewelry, golden dust highlighting his cheekbones, pointy ears, a tail, all pulled together by the goblet of wine he was holding. The one good thing about Halloween was that it allowed him to dress up as his favorite book characters.
He shifted his gaze downward for a moment, adjusting his clothes, and when he looked back up, he let out a yelp at the creature standing behind him in the mirror. Thunder crackled outside as Manon leaned her head back and laughed manically.
She was a truly horrifying sight to behold with her wholly white eyes and bloody grin. Her white hair was smeared with what could only be described as gore and her throat looked to be slit. She looked like a nightmare, and judging by the satisfied smirk on her face, she knew it too.
«You ready for some scary movies?» Manon asked him, giving his costume a nod of approval. Absolutely not, Dorian wanted to say, knowing she’d saved the worst movies for last.
Instead, he took a shuddering breath and said, «Can’t wait.» His voice was tight, shaking slightly. The look Manon gave him made him want to turn the lights on and hide under a blanket.
-
They were only fifteen minutes into A Nightmare on Elm Street, but Dorian was already clinging to Manon, his face buried in the crook of her neck. How could she be so calm right now? She seemed to be enjoying it, even.
Someone knocked on the door, and Dorian jumped, his heart racing. It’s just trick-or-treaters, he told himself. Definitely not a psychopath killer.
«Fucking finally!» Manon exclaimed as she paused the movie and got up, heading towards the door. Dorian was torn between wanting to run out and protect her from the killer that was surely waiting behind the closed door and begging her to not leave him alone.
Calm down you idiot, he told himself. What kind of killer knocks on the door?
Then it hit him, all blood draining from his face. It would be a genius move to just knock on the door if you wanted to kill someone.
As he was about to run into the hallway and hide behind his girlfriend as she dealt with the threat, he heard the door open, followed by the sound of giggling children. Manon’s words from earlier, when he’d asked why she loved Halloween so much, echoed in his mind: «I get to scare little children while looking awesome! What’s not to love?» The more he got to know this woman, the more she amazed him.
After a moment, Manon said something he couldn’t make out, but he could hear the kids scream as they ran away, then the door slamming shut once more. The sound of Manon’s evil laughter filled the eerie house as she stepped back into the living room. «I love Halloween!»
-
Dorian was sure he’d never been more relieved when the movie finally ended and Manon turned the lights back on. That relief was quickly replaced by dread though, when a loud thump sounded upstairs.
«What was that?» Manon asked, casting a worried glance at the ceiling.
Dorian eyed her suspiciously, knowing she was surely the one behind this.
«Why are you looking at me like that?» she hissed when she noticed his accusing stare. «This isn’t me, I swear!» His face paled at the truth he could hear in her voice.
«It’s probably nothing, right?» Dorian tried to hide the fear in his voice with a nonchalant chuckle. Their house was old, so it was normal for it to make a lot of scary noises. Although…
«That came from the attic, right?» Manon whispered from her spot next to him, her breath hitching as they heard another thump.
«I think so,» he said, swallowing audibly.
«Maybe we should check it out…»
Dorian shook his head. «Fuck no! The one thing I’ve learned from all those movies you’ve made me watch is to never check out weird noises.» No way was he stepping foot into the creepy attic. He’d avoided it as much as possible since moving into the house a month ago.
«Fine, then I’ll do it,» Manon declared, giving him a nasty glare. Yet he didn’t miss the way she rose a bit reluctantly, her voice shaking.
When she was halfway across the room, Dorian let out a defeated sigh, quickly trailing after her. He didn’t want to find the source of the noise, but he most definitely didn’t want to be left alone either.
He made sure to keep close behind her as they carefully treaded up the stairs, the howling wind making the entire house shake.
As they reached the top, Dorian put on a sweet face and gestured to the door. «After you, darling.»
Manon scoffed, rolling her eyes, but she didn’t move to open the door leading into the dark attic, either. Almost as if she was…hesitating.
«Don’t tell me you’re scared, Blackbeak?»
«No,» she claimed, but he could hear the fear in her voice. «ButifwedieIloveyou,» she blurted and opened the door.
Dorian knew the thought of something scaring Manon should have made him turn around and run for his dear life, but he was also eager to see what happened next.
Manon lifted a shaking hand to flick on the light, Dorian holding his breath. As her eyes fell upon the source of the noise, she let out a high-pitched shriek and ran into Dorian’s arms.
The shock of hearing Manon Blackbeak shriek erased all trace of fear lingering in him, and as he peered over her shoulder, into the attic, he leaned his head back and howled with laughter.
For there, in the middle of the floor, was Abraxos, trapped under a white sheet, a knocked-over box next to him. «Meow,» he said, as if in greeting.
Dorian pulled up his phone, snapping a picture of the little ghost. Then he turned around and took another, of Manon, who now stood at the middle of the landing, arms hanging limp at her sides, a mix of fear and confusion on her face. He should have felt guilty for laughing at her, but revenge tasted so sweet.
Her frightened look quickly turned into one of rage as she noticed what Dorian was doing, his laughter dying at the murderous glance she threw him. «Meow,» Abraxos said once more, unknowingly stopping Manon from killing Dorian with her eyes.
After freeing the poor kitten, Dorian turned towards a glaring Manon and said, unable to hide the amusement in his voice, «Is a harmless kitten all it takes to scare you?»
Her face broke into a terrifying grin. «I wouldn’t look so smug if I were you. There are still a few hours left…» Then she just turned on her heel and began walking down the stairs, glancing over her shoulder. «Happy Halloween, Dorian.»

The Manly Man {Manorian}
31 Days of Halloween: Day 12.
All installments co-written with @snelbz
Based on a prompt sent in by anon: “Haunted House - staged (Manorian - Dorian is the terrified one)”
Warning: Gore.
Autumn/Halloween 2020 {Collection}
Tumblr media
Manon was practically bouncing where she stood.
There were very few things she loved more than being thrilled, and as Halloween was quickly approaching, she found a no better way to spend her Friday night than to take her boyfriend to a haunted house.
She used to work at one, in high school. She was the zombie-surgeon that picked at the intestines of whomever was lying on her table. It had been fun, thrilling. People would come through her room, scream bloody murder, and Manon would applaud herself for her performance every time.
Yes, she loved haunted houses.
Dorian didn’t look so sure.
His hands were shoved into his pockets as he looked at the front door up ahead. There was creepy music playing, and lights flashing, and Dorian looked like he was nearly ready to vomit.
“How you doin’, babe?” Manon asked, eyes narrowed as his throat bobbed.
“Huh? Oh, good,” he said, nodding a little too quickly. “Yeah, no, I’m good. How are you?”
“Great,” she answered, chuckling.
They took another step forward in line.
“So, I want to be clear before we go in there,” Dorian began, clearing his throat.
Manon chuckled. “Yeah?”
“I’m a manly man, and I want that to be noted,” Dorian began.
Manon nudged him. “I think we’ve been together long enough that I know exactly how manly you are.”
He proved it, nightly, again and again, just how manly he was.
“Right,” he continued. “So...when we go in here...just...remember that.”
“You’re scared,” Manon crooned, slipping her fingers through his. “I didn’t think you were the type to get scared.”
The couple had spent every holiday together in the last year, except for Halloween. They’d started dating just before last Thanksgiving, and every holiday had been absolutely perfect. Now, as they fell deeper and deeper in love, the spookiest season was upon them.
And Dorian was not a fan.
He never understood the appeal of being scared, never understood how peeing your pants was considered a good time, and yet, here he was.
At one of the scariest haunted houses in the city, taking another step forward in line.
“I’m not scared,” Dorian replied, at last, shaking his head. “I don’t get scared.”
“You don’t get scared?” Manon asked. “Because it looks like you’d rather be anywhere but here. You know, if you don’t want to go through the haunted house, we can-.”
“No, no,” Dorian protested, quickly. “I don’t… I’d like to go through, yeah. It looks…fun.”
A series of earth-shattering screams echoed from inside the house.
Manon squeezed his hand as they took another step forward. They were almost near the front of the line, and the energy had Dorian’s hands trembling.
The one that wasn’t squeezing Manon’s, anyway.
Once they were next in line, Dorian was about ready to puke.
He hated being scared.
Hated it.
Loathed it.
They entered the building.
The hallway was dark, although flashing lights were going off against the walls. Dorian’s feet had suddenly become heavier, causing him to move slower.
So, incredibly slow.
“We’re going to hold up the line,” Manon said, dragging him along.
“I can’t take my time in this hellhole?” he asked, looking around with every step he took.
“With how terrified you look, I figured you’d wanna get through it as quickly as possible,” she said, quickly, with a sly look on her thin lips.
He shot her an exasperated look. “Be happy that I love you.”
Her grin only widened.
They continued down the hall, the sound system throwing out loud, terrifying shrieks and rolls of thunder. The lights were blinking. Dorian had always hated strobe lights, had always found them annoying.
In clubs.
In haunted houses.
Strobe lights sucked.
But then the lights went out entirely. And with a quiet click, one lone light came on behind them. Dorian turned around and looked back to where they’d entered, only to find a solid wall there.
“Fuck,” he whispered and Manon squeezed his hand, which she chuckled softly. He turned back to look down the hallway and they moved forward, towards the corner that seemed to get darker and darker with every step they took.
“You want me to go first?” Manon asked, smirking over at him.
“No, I will,” he said, picking up the pace. At least he tried to.
As he got closer and closer to the corner, unable to see a thing around the edge, he remembered that Manon probably knew what was around the bend. Whether from experience of going through it herself or just a knowledge of what haunted houses usually were, she had an idea. He was both literally and figuratively in the dark.
And he hated every second of it.
Once Dorian came around the corner, clinging to Manon’s hand for dear life, the lights came on the moment they stepped around the wall. A young girl was tied to an electric chair, looking like she was getting electrocuted, blood pouring from her lips, smoke filling the room.
Dorian tried not to jump, but failed.
Manon scoffed, quietly. “Amateurs.”
“Yeah,” Dorian tried to agree, but his voice cracked, and he was quickly pulling Manon into the next room.
Which was so much worse than the first.
The temperature hit him the moment they walked through the door. Dorian’s foot slipped on something slightly and looked down and gasped as he saw a puddle of blood leaking from a dismembered leg. Manon’s hand was an anchor in his and her other hand gripped his forearm. The frigid temperature unsettled him and as she looked around at the body parts hanging from the ceiling, Dorian really thought he might be sick.
“Come on,” Manon said, gently, pulling him through the room.
He really wanted to look down, to let her pull him through, but his eyes couldn’t look away from everything around him. When they ended up at a large metal table, a man holding a large meat cleaver was slowly sectioning meat off of a bone. He seemed to be focused on his task and just as they were about to pass by, his other first slammed against the table and he held the blade out towards Manon, as he laughed maniacally.
She didn’t even flinch, but Dorian wasn’t proud of the noise that left him. He pulled her toward the door on the far side of the room and tried to move as quickly as he could.
“I’m gonna be sick,” he muttered.
They went through an entry way that led them outside, although the area seemed to be fenced in, which Dorian automatically wasn’t a fan of. It was set up like a trailer park, and there were tall trees surrounding a beat-up trailer. There was a series of coffins scattered across the lawn, and Dorian was scared to move.
“Do you hear banjo music?” Manon whispered.
“Shhh!” Dorian begged, careful for every creeping sound.
“Come on, there’s a door on the opposite end of the wall we go through,” Manon said, pulling Dorian along.
After a second, Dorian became more comfortable. “Well, this doesn’t seem so ba-.” The world's most unsettling scream flew out of Dorian’s lips as the door to the trailer was thrown open and a man with a chainsaw appeared. He was revving it, and hurrying down the trailer stairs.
Dorian’s screams continued as he hauled ass along the wall of the haunted house until he appeared at the door on the opposite end and flung himself inside.
At some point, he had dropped Manon’s hand.
She appeared a moment later, though, in the doorway, grinning uncontrollably.
Dorian’s hand flew to his chest as he huffed and puffed. “I- my heart has legit never beat as quickly as it’s beating right now.”
Manon couldn’t stop her smile as she wrapped her arms around her boyfriend and rested her chin on his chest and gazed up at him. “You okay?”
He rested his forehead against hers and said, “Please don’t ever ask me to do this again.”
She laughed and leaned up and kissed him. “Come on, scaredy pants.”
Dorian realized he was hearing faint music from down the hall, leading to the next room. They walked closer and it became more and more defined and he slowed down. “Nuhuh. Nope.” He stopped moving. “There’s a fucking clown in there, isn’t there?”
“It’s a haunted house, babe,” she said, dragging him forward. “Of course there’s a clown. There’s a mirror maze, too.”
“Oh, great, so I can’t get lost and it can murder me,” he muttered. “Great.”
“I know the quickest path,” she said, with a comforting squeeze of his hand. “We’ll be through it in no time.”
The walked through the heavy, tattered, velvet curtain and it was worse than Dorian could have ever imagined.
Not only was there a mirror maze, but there were clown paintings, statues, constant laughter from everywhere, disorienting him.
“You better be happy I love you,” he said, terrified to even look at Manon and give someone a chance to jump him.
She just shook her head as she led him through the maze, and with every turn they took, Dorian became more and more convinced that this is the way that he would die.
And when the clown jumped out from behind a corner and Dorian saw it’s bloody grin in the reflection of the mirror he stood in front of, he was pretty sure he peed his pants, just a little bit.
“Get me the fuck out of here!” he yelled.
Manon’s laughter reverberated throughout the room as she pulled Dorian just a little bit quicker through the maze.
“The clown has a fucking sledgehammer!” Dorian continued. “My gods, I’m going to die, I’m going to die, I’m going to-.”
Manon pulled them out of the maze and instantly into the next room, which once again had Dorian growing queasy.
Now, he loved Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein. It was a classic, a beautiful work of literature.
What he was looking at now, however, was ruining the classic for him, forever.
A mad scientist was laughing, horridly, as he stood above his table, looking down at his monster. There were body parts in jars, ancient, rusty tools everywhere, and eyeballs scattered along the table.
“Please tell me we’re almost out of here,” Dorian muttered.
She rolled her eyes, but squeezed his hand in a comforting gesture and tugged him through the tamest and shortest room yet. When they walked through the door, his senses on red alert, he was surprised to see they were once again outside and the only thing aside from the back half of the creepy house was a corn maze wrapping back around to the front.
“Oh, sweet Mala, thank the gods,” he said, bending over, resting his hands on his knees and gulping down air. “Never again,” he said, repeating his earlier promise. Manon laughed and when he stood upright again, he took her hand and they walked into the corn maze.
It was a chilly night, but that was fine with him. He’d gotten so hot inside that stupid haunted house that the bite in the air was absolutely welcomed. Not to mention, the sky was gorgeous tonight, stars everywhere, not a cloud in sight.
Manon was in the middle of a story about one of her clients earlier that day when Dorian held up a finger and stopped walking. “Do you hear that?”
He wished he hadn’t seen the smile on Manon’s face when she innocently asked, “Hear what?”
He felt the color drain from his face. “I thought it was over, you said it was over. We’re outside!”
Manon kept walking forward, letting her hand stay on the right wall. “I never said anything. You just assumed. Come on.”
She held out her hand and he quickly took it as the sound of a revving chainsaw grew closer and closer.
“Fuck no!” he yelled, and picked up his pace. He didn’t make it far before a bloodied-up zombie jumped out of the corn stalks, making Dorian scream, yet again.
Manon was laughing maniacally, which only terrified Dorian even more.
“If you love me, you’ll get me the fuck out- is that chainsaw getting louder?” Dorian knew he sounded like a complete and utter sissy, but he really didn’t care.
His heart was nearly pounding out of his chest, and his need to pee was unbearable.
“We’re almost out,” Manon yelled, dodging her way around a ghostly bride that had just popped out at her. “Hang in there, babe.”
“How the hell are you so calm?!” he yelled, thinking his feet couldn’t move fast enough.
The roaring behind him grew and he turned to find the masked man from before running at them.
“Fuck, fuck, fuck, please, run!” He cried, pulling Manon’s hand harder as he ran.
She kept laughing as they ran through the maze, Dorian’s breathing becoming heavier and heavier.
He could hear the heavy footsteps pounding right behind them and Manon pulled him around a corner and-.
They were out in the fresh air and there were other people dressed in flannel and jeans and the sound of laughter and excitement.
Dorian groaned as they stopped and he realized that this time it really was over.
“Oh, thank the gods,” he breathed and Manon wrapped her arms around his neck.
“Not that bad, right?” She asked, smirking up at him.
Dorian was still breathing heavily, trying desperately to catch his breath. With a groan, he dropped his face into her shoulder and said, “I'm serious. Be glad that I love you.”
Manon just threw her head back and laughed as she patted her boyfriend’s head and walked him to the safety of her car.

Pumpkin Mangling
31 Days of Spooktober
Day 3/31
Tumblr media
Prompt: (from the other list) 4. “Maybe pumpkin carving isn’t your thing...”
Dorian had learned how to deal with strong willed women since he was a child.
He had bee raised with the most stubborn, strong and determined woman he could ever think of, and if someone could survive Aelin, the person could survive anyone.
He knew when they needed space and when they needed company. When they needed help and when they simply needed support. He had made sure that he was always a friend she could count on, and slowly he learned how to deal with situations the required him to proceed carefully.
He knew how to deal with woman. He really did.
And yet.
And yet, even knowing he shouldn’t, Dorian was in the brink of literal tears from holding his laughter in. He knew that, one single chuckle from him, and the seven inch knife on Manon’s hand would be buried on his thigh. Like his best friend, Manon was extremely independent and short tempered. More times than not, she wanted to to everything by herself not because she didn’t want help, but because she refused to ask.
Dorian knew that much of it had to do with her upbringing. Her grandmother was the worst human being he could ever think of, and the fact that Manon had been raised by that monster always made his heart ache. Her grandmother was cold, cruel and unforgiving. She had taught Manon to be the exact same but, although she could be those things, there was a softer side of Manon that she rarely let anyone— even herself— see.
“Baby—“ Dorian started cautiously, but the laughter could be noticed in his voice.
Manon didn’t took her eyes from what was in front of her, hand gripping the knife tighter. “Don’t.”
She had almost growled it, which only made the situation much funnier to Dorian. “Manon, I really—“
“I’ll fucking impale you, Havilliard.”
“I just think that maybe pumpkin carving isn’t your thing.”
“Shut the fuck up.” Manon declared, turning to Dorian. Her golden eyes were aflame, cheeks dirty with pumpkin filling. She was holding the knife as if she was about to take a run and stab Dorian. “I swear to the Gods, Dorian, if you laugh—“
Honestly, Dorian didn’t know what exactly made him snap. He didn’t know if it was the pumpkin all over her face, the cheeks red from anger. He didn’t know if it was the threatening voice, the hand shaking as she held the knife. Or maybe the simple fact that his girlfriend has never carved a pumpkin and she was absolute shit on it.
Dorian had to grab the counter as he doubled over in a fit of laughter. Manon hated being bad at something, and she had only decided to do this when Aelin taunted her about not being able to do something that even toddlers could.
Manon simply replied by saying that it wasn’t that she didn’t know how to do, she just never wanted to do.
Turns out that was a lie.
“Stop!” Manon shouted, letting go of the knife and stomping up to him. Without her usual heeled boots, Manon was comically short near Dorian. The sight of her crossing her arms in front of him, eyes narrowing just made him cackle more. “Dorian, I fucking meant it.”
Dorian took some deep breaths, trying to calm himself down. “You’re shit at carving pumpkins.”
“I’ll carve out your heart, you bloody prick.”
“You’re so fucking bad. It looks like someone stabbed it repeatedly.” He put a hand over his mouth as he looked at the mangled pumpkin on the table. It had been cut so many times that it was falling apart.
“The first one was worst.” Manon grunted. By her widening eyes, she immediately regretted what she had said.
Dorian guffawed, throwing his head back as literal tears fell down his cheeks. “This is not your first attempt?”
“I hate you. I fucking hate you and I hate Galathynius for making me even try this shit. It’s fucking useless!”
“Nah.” Dorian tried to say seriously. “It will certainly scare off the spirits. Actually, with this appearance, it will scare off anything.”
Manon shook her head, looking at the destruction she had caused. A small smile bloomed on her lips, and she let out a single laugh. “I hate you both. I mean it. I couldn’t have asked for a worst boyfriend and an even worse best friend.”
Dorian took a step forward, hugging Manon. As per usual, she was rigid as a block of cement for the first seconds before letting herself to relax. Manon wasn’t used on physical touch as a form of love demonstration. Dorian was the one who usually hugged her, kissed her and most of the small touches started from him. It never really bothered him, not really. Manon’s love demonstrations were completely different, but not lesser.
She was absurdly smart. She knew so much about science that it was mind blowing whenever she talked to Dorian about it. That was her love demonstrations. Manon was so reserved, so prompt to shove people away that whenever she talked about something she loved, whenever she let Dorian see the excited, passionate part of her, it was her way of saying that she trusted him. That she loved him just as much even though she wasn’t too keen on physically showing it all the time.
Manon would never be a helpless romantic, but Dorian wouldn’t even wish for anyone else’s love other than hers.
He kissed the top of her head, resting his chin on it. “If it is any consolation, I was shit at it when I was younger. Aelin teased me endlessly. Hers were always pretty and perfect, always the artist, but mine were even worse than yours.”
“You were five.” Manon mumbled.
“So? I learned because I had time. I’ll admit, your pumpkin is hideous—“ He was interrupted when she pinched him hard on his side. “But,” he said forcefully. “But you never had it during your childhood, you can’t expect to sit down and do it perfectly on your first day.”
“You said Aelin’s were.”
“Aelin is not human. Besides, she is an artist. The girl has been sculpting since she could walk. Pumpkins are a joke to her.” Dorian reminded Manon.
“I’ll throw this pumpkin on her face next time I see her.” Manon said only half-jokingly. Dorian had never been happier when his best friend and girlfriend became so close, became best friends themselves.
Until he realized what Manon and Aelin being best friends meant.
They were insane.
They had constant prank wars, were always bickering even though it was obvious that they loved each other like sisters. They were the two scariest people Dorian had ever seen, and them being best friends was terrifyingly entertaining.
“Give it to Whitethorn. I don’t think there is anyone whose existence annoys Aelin more. She would combust in anger if he threw a speck of pumpkin on her.”
Manon drew back, eyes wide as she stared up at Dorian. A huge smile appeared on her lips, and she let out a strange laugh. “Dorian Havilliard, you are a genius.”
Dorian narrowed his eyes suspiciously. “I was joking. Leave Aelin and Rowan’s situation alone. Those two have been hating each other for years now.”
“I didn’t say anything.” Manon defended herself, but her voice didn’t match her words.
“Blackbeak, I mean it.”
She just laughed evilly, leaving Dorian’s arms to sit back at her stool. “Just sit and relax baby. Actually…”
Dorian waited for her to finish, raising her eyebrows when she didn’t. “Actually what?”
Manon hesitated, taking a deep breath and sighing. “Could you help me? With the carving?”
A part of Dorian wanted to smile and be smug about it, but he knew that if he did that, Manon would never feel comfortable in asking him for help again. It was an unusual thing, and it filled Dorian’s chest with warmth to know that Manon trusted him enough to be vulnerable around him— even if just a little.
So Dorian smiled softly and assented, walking to her. “Of course I can, baby.”
He sat by her side, taking another pumpkin and helping her carve it. They spent the whole evening doing so, laughing when one messed up. Dorian’s cheeks hurt from smiling when Manon celebrated finally carving one correctly.
Things were good.
And when Dorian looked at Manon’s gorgeous face again, he realized that things were actually great.

A/N: This is so small but it’s also my first time writing Manorian so it’s uncharted grounds for me, have patience and let me know if you liked it! Also, if you’re not getting tagged but you’re on the tag list, let me know please!

Throne of Glass Halloween headcanons
Potential KoA spoilers below!
Aelin hosts the party, and part of the challenge every year is to figure out which person at the party is actually her.
She is so damn good at disguises and taking on different accents and mannerisms, Rowan is the only person who can consistently sniff her out (not literally but you know). However, since he’s on her side, he doesn’t tell anyone else.
Rowan has to play the host while Aelin hides among everyone.
Their costumes can’t match, or else people will figure out who Aelin is.
Rowan is in charge of his own costume though.
One time Rowan dressed like he normally would, only with dyed hair and more scowls.
He was Lorcan, of course. Lorcan was not amused.
Aelin demanded he wash the dye out the second the party was over.
Evangeline dresses up like a Crochan witch, and Fleetfoot is her wyvern.
Manon comes but doesn’t dress up. It doesn’t matter, because she’s so fierce that everyone thinks she looks amazing anyway.
Dancing, all night long. The party doesn’t end until dawn, at which point half the guests have passed out all over the castle, on random couches and fluffy chairs.
Aelin, Rowan, Lysandra, and Dorian always make it until dawn.
Aelin goes more for the dark glam decoration, instead of actually scary. They’ve all had enough of real-life horror.
Aedion and Lysandra are a matchy couple.
Lysandra thinks it’s funny to dress up like a snow leopard, with the ears and tail and everything, instead of actually shifting.
Aedion reassures her that yes, dear, that is very clever.
No one ever dresses up like a spider. That’s an unspoken rule.
Dorian and Manon always end up in a closet somewhere.
Chaol and Yrene don’t have matchy costumes, but she usually has to pick his out for him.
The person who figures out which guest is really Aelin gets a paper crown for the night.
Dorian has figured it out five years running.
When Nesryn complains that he must have some advantage, he just reminds her that she has a real crown at home, Empress.
Elide spends most of the night in Lorcan’s lap.
She does that a lot though, so Halloween is not really an exception.
Besides the Aelin scavenger hunt, it’s just food and drink and dancing.
Hasar always wears an extravagant gown, and it doesn’t matter how many times Aelin gives her shit for it not being a costume. She’ll keep being sparkly.
When Aelin and Rowan finally see everyone out, they take one look at the mess, and go to bed.

ToG Halloween Headcanons
- Aelin is a hardcore trick-or-treater who goes all out with her costume and has scouted all the houses that give out king size candy bars. And she ends up eating most of her candy before the night is over.
- Rowan goes with Aelin trick-or-treating, but he doesn’t dress up. That doesn’t stop people from giving him candy, even if he doesn’t ask for it, because either the adults are stunned by his handsome looks or by his “resting buzzard face” as Aelin calls it when he’s got a serious expression.
- Aedion and Lysandra have couples costumes. Their choice? Werewolves. And sweet Evangeline is Little Red Riding Hood! (Throughout the night Lysandra will brush against Aedion’s “tail” and say “Are you that happy to see me?”. Aedion, not one to be teased without retribution, settles behind Lysandra and growls against her neck.)
- Manon is dressed as a certain Khaleesi in Targaryen colors of red and black. And of course her pet cat, Abraxos is dressed as a dragon...though Dorian managed to convince Manon that her beloved flower-loving cat should be dressed as Toothless.
- Speaking of Dorian he’s dressed as a king (so that he can say he’s the king to Manon’s queen). But more than anything he simply enjoys telling Manon that he can’t wait to take her to his “dungeon” later. Needless to say no one sees Dorian and Manon for the rest of the night once they leave.
- Elide is dressed as Anneith Athena (Greek goddess of wisdom) and she is the one who loves going to haunted houses and dragging everyone along for the fun. Though she ends up accidentally being grouped with Lorcan, who in a surprising twist of fate is dressed as a Greek warrior. He ends up taking off his shirt for Elide during the haunted house since she becomes cold and she ends up wearing his shirt throughout the night.
- Lorcan at one point ends up having to carry Elide since she tripped and hurt herself while running in the haunted house- not because she was scared, but due to the fact that one of the volunteers smacked her butt so she was on the warpath for vengeance...which Lorcan may or may not have knocked the guy against the wall once they finally passed him on their way out of the house.
- Yrene and Chaol decorate their home and host a party at their place. Yrene is dressed as a nurse and Chaol is dressed up as Batman with his wheelchair also being fixed up to look like a mini batmobile. Kids love it and they always ask for a ride which Chaol gladly wheels them around a lap around the house. The kids realize that heroes come in all forms and that Chaol is definitely one of them.
- Chaol later offers to give Yrene a ride as well...in their bedroom. Yrene blushes, but leans down to give Chaol a kiss promising to massage is muscles afterward since she plans on having a long ride.
- Nesryn is dressed up as an archer with armor. She participates in all the games at the event and decides to show off her archery skills by pulling back the plastic arrow and shooting solo cups. She hits every single one, except the last one since Sartaq “accidentally” stumbled in front of her shot.
- Sataq spends the whole night calling Nesryn his Cupid since she shot him with a love arrow. “It was love at first sight...or technically shot.” Sartaq tells everyone while Nesryn rolls her eyes with a smile on her face.
- Nehemia brings forth all the candy and makes sure that every trick-or-treater that stops by the house gets more than one piece of candy. She even saves a bag back for Aelin, because she knows Aelin will be by soon. (Sure enough Aelin and Rowan stop by at the end of the night where they hang out and talk. Rowan finally gets to meet Nehemia...the girl that Aelin had promised so much for. The girl who was a light for his Fireheart in her dark times.)
- Sam is dressed as a ghost (too soon???) He hangs out with the Cadre for most of the night. Fenrys and Sam get along really well and they end up causing the most laughter. By the end of the night they become close friends. Close enough in fact that the Cadre call Sam their “brother”.

as of 11/09/23, the post office is OPEN and is currently accepting requests.
general information:
⇨ i write mostly fem!reader, but open to male!reader and gender neutral!reader.
⇨ requests are filled when they are filled. there is no rhyme or reason to when requests are filled. i reserve the right to delete any request as i see fit. if a request is deleted, you are not entitled to knowing the reason.
⇨ not all requests will be one shots. some will be turned into short blurbs or series, depending on how much inspiration i have.
⇨ i write fluff, angst, smut, and dark fics, but angst is my specialty.
⇨ at the present, i only feel comfortable writing smut for fem!readers.
⇨ any au ideas are welcome.
⇨ i am willing to write for characters beyond the lists below, but please ask me first before you send in a request so that i can judge if it’s something i’m comfortable with.
⇨ i no longer write rpf (real person fiction), so don’t make a request for a real person.
⇨ if the listed character is struck through, that means im not taking requests for that character at the moment.
⇨ my hard no’s for fic requests are as follows:
anything involving haunted houses (the kind you go through for halloween, not a house haunted by a ghost character),
teacher/student relationships (though i am willing to explore other teacher relationships, such as teacher/teacher, teacher/librarian, professor/dean, teacher/parent of student, etc.),
stepparent/stepchild,
incest,
pedophilia,
coprophilia (feces) and emetophilia (vomit),
self-harm, and
suicidal ideation/actions.
