This flag is coming home to go to the moon This little flag flew on the first #NASA #SpaceShuttle mission and on the last. But, it was kept on the International Space Station (#ISS) until the next American mission could take it home. Today, #astronauts Doug Hurley and Bob Behnken will return to Earth today aboard the #SpaceX #Dragon craft, Endeavor after a successful two-month mission. The flag is coming home with them, and is planned to go to the #moon with the #Artemis missions by 2024. The Artemis program will land the first woman on the moon and the first man since the #Apollo program. The Artemis program will also help establish a small orbiting station around the moon called Gateway. Gateway will advance the scientific exploration of the moon, but it will also be a steppingstone for landing humans on #Mars. Maybe this little flag will be on the #RedPlanet in the 2030s?
