Long time no see, lemme introduce you to my new obsession.

I resisted watching the AMC version when season 1 first came out because Louis in the 1994 version was a wet blanket that I didn't care for. So I didn't jump on the bandwagon, until I saw some TikTok edits of Assad as Armand during that "marriage story" scene.

Long story short, after 2 days binge watched both seasons, here is my contribution to my pathetic cancelled wife.

I could never resist a curly hair psychotic doe eyes boi. This man is gonna be the death of me.

I'll put an end to "nobody had painted me in 400 years". I want to draw this manipulated gremlin over and over again, so stay tunes, there's more to come.

Just saw someone on Twitter (scrolled past and then the dashboard refreshed, thanks Elon) say Loumand is way less toxic than Loustat.

And like, sweetie,

a) We haven‘t even seen Loumand yet

b) You know how they blew up the toxicity for s1…? Yeah? Just sayin‘

and

c) This is the Vampire Chronicles. They’re all messy, toxic killers.

Like if you really think the show will pass on the toxicity in Loumand because they’re a POC couple now just take another look at the interviews and posters we have already. Because this is going to be a hot, flaming mess.

something about armand that is making me chew glass is how desperately, how devoted, he will look for familiarity, for a home. His Maker haunts him. He looks for Marius in every relationship, and in doing so will attempt to create a Marius 2.0 - someone worthy of his submission. The insane lengths he will go to — manipulative little gremlin (affectionate) — just to lay down his burdens and find comfort in something familiar. Marius. Lestat. Louis, in Paris, in 2.04, who’s good at running things.

So I finally binge watched season 2 of IWTV and of course this manipulative, evil gremlin instantly became my favourite character so of course I had to draw him! This is just a WIP, I wanted to just do the line art and leave it like that but I decided to colour it.

Fortunatly I don't see people doing that a lot but I rlly hope people don't baby-fy q!BBH because of his degrading mental health.

Like I see things like that happen all the time where people equate a character's suffering/their mental to how good of a person or pitiful they are and it always feels icky/misplaced.

In some sense, q!BBH did reap what he sowed (even if I really doubt the memory loss will stick forever) for what he did to himself and others. It's cruel yes but in the end this is the path he chose for himself, a path of self destruction.
