Thinking about how (probably) accidentally romantic the whole thing between Boruto and Mitsuki is right now LOL
I've induldged myself in a few romance stories here and there, but not enough to consider myself an expert, however the thing between them feels like a cliche romance trope.
Think about it: Mitsuki loves and admires Boruto a ton. And it's not just a superficial admiration, he really does take the time to understand Boruto and why he likes him. Boruto is the entire reason why Mitsuki is able to develop as a person, he's super important to him (whether or not you see it as platonic or romantic). And Mitsuki is just as important to Boruto as he is to him, as he learned in the Mitsuki Disappearance arc.
Then when the memory switch happened, Kawaki took Boruto's place in his memories, Mitsuki continued to show that same devotion. But unlike Boruto, who always just accepted how much Mitsuki likes him and reciporcates what he thinks is a strange friendship, Kawaki doesn't reciprocate Mitsuki's loyalty and devotion, leaving Mitsuki feeling unhappy and unfufilled.
Then he re-encounters Boruto again and Mitsuki wondering or not Kawaki really is the person who illuminated his life. And Boruto, also, takes the time to talk to Mitsuki, reminding him that HE is his 'Sun' and invites him to follow him again (omg this scene tho). And it seems that Mitsuki wants to despite his memories stating otherwise.
What I'm saying is that Mitsuki's heart senses who his real "Sun" is despite everything stating otherwise, which feels like a trope in a romantic story where one part of the couple forgets the other and re-encounters them and falls in love with them again. And if Mitsuki ends up betraying Kawaki for Boruto in spite of his memories... I feel like if Boruto the series was not a Shounen, I'd see some crazy declaration of love and a kissy scene down the line.
Despite being a MitsuBoru enjoyer, I'd genuienly be surprised if Boruto and Mitsuki end up as a proper canon pairing. As much as I would like it to be canon, I feel like the author has different intentions and it was a complete accident how romantic this ended up being.
That being said, I think it would make perfect sense if MitsuBoru became canon, I'd probably cry if it actually did LOL

Don’t want to get expectations too high for borusara, have to wait and see through subtle hints in later chapters; that’s how naruhina and sasusaku became endgame over 9 years ago

⚠️ SPOILER ALERT⚠️
Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter 10
Tumblr media
A few years back when the Baryon Mode scene took place, I had gotten an Ask that was related to it and back then, I was under the impression that the circumstances of a bijuu's death in that mode was something different compared to what was explained previously in Shippuden. I assumed that the Baryon mode was a more "permanent" kind of death for a bijuu.
But considering the latest chapter in Boruto and Himawari's situation with Kurama, it does seem they were indeed following the lore that the bijuu will not permanently be gone.
Tumblr media
Though maybe how the Baryon mode scene played out was intended to add to the unpredictability factor for the story? To keep people on their toes and wouldn't assume right away that Kurama will be back.
Although even Kurama was surprised that he'd respawn so soon and his new host would be Naruto's daughter... Because for them even the duration of time and place is unknown for a bijuu's rebirth.
But Kurama respawning through Hima isn't entirely surprising... As he said, it could have been because of her birth/lineage...
Tumblr media
Anyway, it's already wonderful to see Kurama again and having Hima as his new host. I'm really excited to see the potential she would have while using Kurama's power.

Boruto wearing so many pins and necklaces arguably clutters his design a bit but I think it's entirely worth it for the emotional damage they give me
Like. at this point, Boruto hasn't been able to go home in three years. he's regarded as a traitor to his village and family by nearly everyone. there are orders to have him killed on sight. most of his friends hate him and almost nobody remembers him for who he truly is.
But despite all of that, he doesn't let go of what he had. He wears a badge of the village symbol that cast him out. He wears a necklace of the Uzumaki crest, despite the people saying he doesn't belong to that family anymore. He has a pin of the design that was on the back of his first coat, as if to say that's still who he is.
And the one that makes me go insane the most - he wears a sun symbol, of all things. A reference to Himawari, possibly, whose name means "sunflower"... but seeing as it's not a flower pin, I have a feeling that it's actually a reference to Mitsuki.
Mitsuki, who always said that Boruto was like the sun. For him to now wear a sun on his coat, I can only imagine that he valued being seen that way by him more than he let on; enough to include it in what's functionally a compilation of the symbols of his identity.
He's Uzumaki Boruto, from Konoha, and apparently, the sun in Mitsuki's sky. I am never going to be normal again

Ngl this chapter quote reminds me of this MOM line from KH3
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is just my take on it but the way I see it, in Saradas mind B0ruto needs her help, but her eyes show her the complete opposite but she ignores it, meanwhile Sumire is seeing the truth with her eyes and acting accordingly
Ada is a mixed bag, shes still figuring it out, torn between her mind [loving Kawaki for shallow reasoning] and her eyes [growing interest in B0ruto who is genuinely a good guy who respects her] so shes still in a weird middle ground between both.
Basically, my take on it is true love is the reality you see with your eyes, not whatever you think or believe in your mind, hell omnipotence alone is proof that the mind isn't always reliable, sometimes you have to 'trust your heart' and believe what your eyes are showing you.
You see Sasuke, Himawari, Amado, Shikamaru, and Mitsuki all do this, trust their eyes/heart > their mind

Sarada is too stuck in her own head to see the truth while Sumire and partially Ada has, they see that this is what Boruto wants and that getting involved will only cause trouble for him, they understand and respect this, Sarada doesn't because her mind overrules her eyes.
For clarity think of mind as your irrational emotions, your doubts, fears, anxiety etc, all the things that plays tricks on you.
Now think of eyes as logic and reason, the 'truth' as it is in reality not clouded by emotions, doesn't mean those emotions arent there, but they dont cloud your judgement.
Thats essentially my point here, Saradas 'love' is from her mind, Sumires is from her eyes, Ada is conflicted between both, but this chapter did lowkey imply shes starting to realize what true love is and what her heart really wants.
I could be wrong obviously but only time will tell so...we'll see.

I can't grasp how sad Boruto must be to see his friend lost and confused. I'll be throwing hands if that's my bff!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And he is nice and encouraging friend until the end. 😭😭😭
And very nice to Kawaki, too. Ugh. Still treating him like a brother despite everything.
