Note
Hi i just found out about your drukkari post and wonder where i can find and read it? Im very interested in the plot. Thanks (о´∀`о)
I-
Ooo boy. I feel bad.
I wish I could tell you but it's currently deep within my drafts and very unfinished.
I have been adding stuff to it but I've kinda lost passion for it. I might post it unfinished but with the draft "notes" of what I'd planned to write.
I'll try and finish it but I'm not gonna make any promises.

Golden eyed phantom ch 1

Pairing Druig x reader

Plot: phantom of the opera au
Warnings: Some smut (im still learning how so go easy on me) fingering, dream sex, mind control but not dark)
Tumblr media
The opera de popular was one of the crown jewels of paris, a place where dreams and nightmares can become a reality. It’s also where young (y/n) (l/n) found themselves living after the untimely death of their only living relative, their father. With no living family and no prospective husband (y/n) would have been homeless if not for Madame Ajak, the kindly dance instructor of the opera and a dear friend to the girls late father.
Madame Ajak became the mother you never knew, kind, caring, always able to cure any physical ailment that seemed to bother her or anyone else, with Madame came Sersi. She was another girl that had grown up in the opera. Madame Ajak was unable to have children of her own so she adopted Sersi when she was just a baby. The young woman was only a few years older then (y/n) and the two became fast friends. Sersi showed you the ins and outs of the opera house, really the ins and outs of Paris. Many times she would take you out and about to learn about your new home and everything in it including the rest of the people that would make up your new family. The first members you met came in the form of Gilgamesh and Thena.
Gilgamesh was the chief of security for the opera house. He was a giant boulder of a man well built and very intimidating at first glance, that is until he smiles at you and turns into the giant teddy bear he is. Always making sure all of us are safe and sneaking in baked goods every now and then. You wouldn’t know just from looking at him but he was an amazing baker, especially his pies they were to die for. With Gilgamesh came his partner Thena, she was gorgeous a goddess without even trying. She was the stunt, fighting and weapons expert for the opera and many other production houses in Paris. Many people thought she was a model but the mere thought made her grimace, “Why would I want to be a model and have to care what everyone thought of me?” Even though she had a tough exterior she was also very kind in her ways. Thena was determined for all of us younger girls at the opera to be able to protect ourselves, teaching everyone basic self defense and warning signs and so on and so forth. She was truly a ferocious mama bear if she wanted to be, to you she just became a protective aunt.
Next up was, without a doubt, your favorite trio, Phastos,Sprite and Makkari. All three worked backstage, keeping the opera house running as fabulously as it does. Phastos was the head engineer/ prop master. If something needed to be built he was the guy, his creations awe inspiring, some looking as though they had come straight out of the future, but he was still humble enough to answer any questions you or anyone had about the devices. Alongside Phastos worked sprite. She was young that was undeniable but boy was she talented, A true artist she was the head set designer and painter. Everything she created was so stunning you couldn’t even tell it wasn’t real. While Phastos was somewhat humble, Sprite was spunky, quick witted and sharp tongue when wronged. She halted being looked down on because of how young she looked and would lay into anyone who belittled her.
Makkari was a completely different story, even though she was deaf that did not stop her. Always with a kind smile on her face she ran around helping pull everything together. She was the resident lighting and stage hand always in the right place at the right time, almost like there were seven of her. When she wasn’t working she would be in the shopping district, dragging (y/n) with her to oogle all the shiny and sparkly Knick knacks, all the beautifully colored fabrics and imports coming in. In fact that's how Kingo was introduced.
Kingo was a fashionista, a real eye for how to make everyone look their best with one look.he was the opera's resident costume designer / understudy. Kingo dreamed of being on stage; he knew all the words, all the songs, everything, but sadly his time in the spotlight had not yet come. Everyone always reassured him his time would come, in fact you would always run lines with him whenever he was feeling down, he was over the top dramatic for sure but so entertaining. Probably the only thing more entertaining was picking on him with sprite and makkari. His reaction to the twos joke always brought a smile to your face, and was almost a bonding experience with the other girl.
During the day there was enough to distract you from your sullen thoughts. In particular the formation of a new found family, always there to relieve you of your boredom and loneliness but at night it was a different story. About a month after you had arrived you sat in the opera's small chapel, lighting a candle for your fathers soul. You guess your gentle weeping is what brought forth the angel's song, but all you really remember is the gentle glowing gold of the candles or at least you think it was the candles but you didn't really care as the feelings of calm wash over you with the soft timber of the angel's voice. At night or really whenever you were alone the angel would speak to you. Teach you the ways of the opera house and the music that went along with it. He was a mystic presence, always there but never in reach.
He invaded your whole life, when not learning from him at night your dreams started turning to him.
It would start with his voice, hearing it in your head as you drifted to sleep, the scene would change to a candle lit backdrop, soft smells of vanilla fill the air, a dreamy feeling wanders around you, then you would feel hands wrap around you. They were strong, long fingers as they wandered up and down your frame. You dare not turn around not wanting the feelings he provokes from you to end too quickly.
Tumblr media
You watch as those glorious hands gently slide up your leg taking your thin night shift with them until they reach your core. A branding iron of heat in eloping you as he probes you. Fingers lightly playing with your clit as his lips caressed your ear, words ringing through your very soul it felt
“My beautiful beautiful muse, I've waited so long for you. I’ll never forget the day I first heard your voice, it was like hearing a blessing.”
You couldn’t even articulate words to reply to him shivering as hard as you were from merrily his touch.
“I can not wait for the day you truly belong to me. Mind. Body. And soul”
You feel his fingers stroking in tune to his words. Marking his point deep within your walls, but before you are able to climb to the peak a loud ringing sounds from beside you
“Ignore it”
You try of course but the ringing doesn’t stop. With each ring the scene around you shakes, deteriorating back into the blackness that waits behind your rapidly opening eyes. You sit up in shock, eyes trying to adjust to your bedroom as your alarm rings beside you. Your body still shivering from the after effects of the dream you just had.
Tumblr media
Five years had passed, under your teachers guidance your gift bloomed but the only people you would even attempt to try to sing for would be your new family, and that was only light humming. The dreams became normal as well. Usually they happened after working with your mysterious and gracious master. You never learned anything more about him. All you knew was his voice but the one in your dreams seemed to evolve.
First was his hands and then his arms then his legs, his back, even a head of dark brown hair. But never his face. It was starting to vex you honestly, every time waking up from the pure euphoria of those dreams too have reality slap you in the face of how lonely you felt. Not that your new family did not appease your heart, in fact being with them was as natural as breathing. To be honest you couldn't describe what was wrong with you, all you could summarize it as was that it felt like part of you was missing.
Tumblr media
A week after your 24th birthday the new owners of the opera appeared and with them came someone familiar.
“Listen up everyone!” Mr Richard's the old owner calls to everyone, all of us currently gathered on the main stag rehearsing the latest show
“I would like to introduce the new owners of the opera Monsieur Nelson and Monsieur Murdock.”
Everyone claps all clambering around to get the best views of the two young owners. You had to admit neither were horrible looking, you thought it was interesting for a blind person to want to buy an opera but it made sense to, even if he couldn’t see the performances, listening to them was the next best thing.
‘Thank you all, thank you we are both very happy to start our adventures in the arts.” Mr Nelson started “We would also like to introduce our generous backer Count Ikaris de solar.” Finished Mr Murdock to when a handsome brunette stepped onto stage to everyone’s approval and applause.
“Ikaris?” You gasped out as everyone continued to clap and awe over the count
“Do you know him (y/n)?” Sersi asks confusingly
“Yes, we knew each other as children. We were somewhat close before his family moved away, I can’t believe that's truly him.”
Before you get another word in, a loud clearing of the throat silences everyone. Mademoiselle Ayesha and her pompous son Adam, step through the crowd in their fine costumes. The madame was the current lead soprano for the opera even though you thought she couldn't sing for shit. Her voice was almost as grating as her attitude towards everyone. Sprite assumed the only reason she was given any parts was because of her stupidly wealthy family and late husband. But you choose not to comment on that. The woman stands there covered in gold and signals to the maestro to start at the top of her aria once more
Tumblr media
Oh no she's starting again Sersi says from beside you already getting ready to cover her ears. In fact you can even see the housekeeping staff in the audience stuffing Cotton in their ears. The woman doesn’t get but a few lines in the aria her screeching tone ringing through the stage before the rolled up backdrop above her comes crashing down. The light but sturdy fabric lands on top of the soprano pinning her belly flopped to the stage floor to the shocks and screams of everyone around.
They rush to help the woman up but the damage to her pride is too great. She starts screeching about all the previous accidents directed at her, of all the misfortune and indignity that has befallen her and how she will not stand for it any longer. Mr Murdock simply stands there letting the scene unfold as Mr Nelson loses his mind along the diva as she. Stomps her heel gathering all her things, her son and their people and promptly leaving
The new owners were in a tissy (mostly foggy) wondering how they are supposed to open tomorrow with no star. How this whole adventure is now wasted. Madame Ajak promptly interrupts, saving Mr Nelson from a full melt down, handing the duo a dark black envelope with a giant red wax seal on it.
“Where did that come from?” You ask Sersi
“That confirms it then, It must was the phantom”
“The phantom?”
“Have you honestly not heard the others talk about this?
“No?”
She just shakes her head at you before filling you in on the details
“He's a mysterious person, some say he’s a ghost, others a demon but no one knows for sure. They say he's been here forever always making his presence known. In fact the previous owner used to pay him a monthly wage just to appease him, that and that box number 5 be kept empty for him whenever he wishes. Everything was going well but this past couple years he has gotten a little more devious.
“Why?”
No one really knows, and everyone’s afraid to ask or look around afraid they’ll never be seen again.
Before you can ask sersi more your name is being called.
“(Y/n)(l/n) can do it.”
What?” You had missed the conversation between the two new owners and Madame Ajak
One of your dances can replace the star diva from the past 5 years.? Your sure about that?
“Foggy why don't we give the girl a chance”
“Matt this is doing nothing for. My nerves
You stand there like a deer in headlight hoping you could somehow slip to the back and out of sight but Sersi sees you growing anxiety and gently but firmly directs you towards Ajak.
Madame gently took you from her daughter and lead you to the center of the stage
“Madame what,,,,but,, I,,,”
“It will be alright dear. I've heard you practice these last couple of years when you sneak off at night, and i know your teacher has taught ypu well”
“My teacher?”
Ajak just gives you a knowing look before she turns towards the maestro and nods at him leaving you standing there as everyone watches.
You hear quiet cheer from stage left where your little opera family all stand giving you thumbs up and right smiles, trying to ease your nerves, though it doesn’t really help, it's not till you look up towards the grand chandler that that gentle calming glow envelops your senses once more.
“From the top of the aria mademoiselle”
The band picks up and the music begins to play
Tumblr media
To be honest you don't remember much after that. It was a whirlwind of activity. Being swept off stage and quickly fitted into costumes, stage managers telling you where you need to stand, color spotting you with lights all the fixing basically to make it seem like you were always meant to be in the role.
You didn't know that while you sang your heart out on stage a certain young count had finally taken notice of you
“(Y/n)?”
“That’s the girl that used to follow you around?” Count Arishem Ikarus’s father ask begrudgingly
“Yes father that's the daughter of that famous violinist tha lived near our old summer home.”
“Well, well we may have found ourselves a diamond in the rough after all. The elder count scrutinizes the crowd all gawking at the peasant, like she's a princess. All he sees is an opportunity to boost his family further, the gears of his plan already forming in his mind.
Phantoms pov
There she is at last! Right where she belongs, my beautiful beautiful muse.

Never Lost Pt2
Drukkari x female reader
College Au
Summary: You meet your new roommate Makkari and her friends at college. Something begins developing between you, Druig, and Makkari, but will insecurities and sorority girls get in the way of your blooming romance?
Pt1.
(disclaimer! This series is unedited and will have errors- I apologize)
After saying goodbye to your mom at the airport you drove back to the dorm, Makkari was nowhere to be seen when you opened the door so you opted for a shower to wash away the slight disappointment you were feeling.
You couldn’t deny that she was absolutely gorgeous, and she seemed very talented and funny, you couldn’t wait to get to know her more, and if everyone on campus was as hot as her then you were going to have a really good year.
You stepped out of the shower and wrapped a towel around yourself, looking around and realizing you forgot to grab some clothes. You peaked out of the door of the bathroom, and seeing that Makkari was still out you swiftly walked out of the bathroom and to your duffel bag to search for an outfit, you were so busy shuffling through your clothes you didn’t hear the small ‘beep’ of the door unlocking and you froze when you heard it open.
You turned to the door, clutching the towel tightly as you noticed Makkari in the doorway, eyes wracking over your towel-clad body before coming up to meet your own, a slight blush donning her cheeks.
You dropped a hand to sign “Sorry” which ultimately drew her attention toward your chest and caused you to flush a little.
She shook her head out of whatever she was thinking and brought a hand up to cover her eyes, a slight smile now being the only thing visible on her face, it was the perfect opportunity to look at her lips but unfortunately, you had to get dressed if you wanted to preserve at least a little bit of your dignity.
You rushed to the bathroom to change into your pajamas before exiting to find Makkari had changed into hers as well, a guilty smile found it’s way to your lips
“Sorry” you signed again
“Don’t be” she dismissed and sat criss-crossed on her bed, you copied her position on your own.
“what year are you?”  she questioned
“i’m a junior” you started “ I started my first few  years of college in my hometown because my family wanted me to stay close -and I was too scared to move away honestly, but then we took a vacation here last summer and I saw this college and I knew I wanted to transfer” you explained, she nodded in understanding
“I’m a junior too, a few of my friends and I transferred  here because our old college got shut down, the principle was kind of controlling and the college wasn’t getting enough students admitted so the state stopped funding”
“oh wow, I’m sorry”
“I’m not, I like this college a lot more already”  she gave you a mischievous smile and you blushed
“do you know if there’s anything on the itinerary  yet?”
“my friends said they’re doing a welcome bonfire tomorrow  night and a few more bonding things before classes start next week” she concluded
“that’s pretty cool” she nodded in agreement
“I can introduce you to my friends tomorrow if you want?” Makkari proposed
“I’d like that” the two of you exchanged numbers before getting under the covers and going to bed with a quick “goodnight”
You woke up with a smile on your face and a text from Makkari
Makkari: Hey Y/n! I went on a morning run but I promise I’ll be back soon ;)
You quickly typed out a response
Y/n: Ok cool! See you in a bit, have fun torturing yourself
You stretched before getting dressed and heading out the door, you asked the receptionist for a map before following it to the food hall. When you get there your jaw nearly drops and that plethora of foods they have available, you were about to get food when you stopped and pulled out your phone, shooting a quick text to Makkari
         Y/n: Have you eaten breakfast?
The reply was almost instant
Makkari: No?
Y/n: are you allergic to anything?
Makkari: Ni
Makkari: No*
       Y/n: kay
Makkari: ??
You grabbed some fruit cups, orange juice bottles, and waffles with little syrup packets before making your way back up into the dorm, Makkari was already there by the time you got back and you found yourself faced with her abs again as you entered to room.
You couldn’t help but watch the way her throat moved as she drank the water from her water bottle, jesus she wasn't the only one who was thirsty-
“You better not be a picky eater” you joked
She lit up as she spotted the food in your hands, coming over to grab half of the things you brought before giving you a hug, sandalwood and vanilla instantly flooded your senses, you would’ve stayed in her arms all day if you could.
The two of you ate your breakfast in happy silence before you finally spoke up
“Do you have any plans for today?” you let her read your lips, you found you quite liked when her attention was on them, she shook her head no before getting up to throw her trash away
- Do you want to watch a movie or something?- you suggested
“Yes”
The two of you spent the rest of the morning/noon watching rom-coms and bickering over which was the best one before Makkari decided you two should probably start getting ready for the bonfire
“Do you know if we have to bring anything?” You turned from your closet to sign to Makkari
“I don’t think so, they should be providing food and drinks” She signed back from her closet
“ I can’t find anything good to wear” you huffed
“let me help” Makkari smiled, walking over and putting a hand on your waist as she moved you over slightly to get a better look at your wardrobe, it made you shiver and you’re more than sure she felt it but she gave no indication that she had.
She pulled out a pair of white jean shorts and a black t-shirt and handed it to you, you changed in the bathroom before coming out and looking in the mirror,
“It’s cute but I feel like it’s missing something” you confessed, she nodded her head in agreement, walking back over to your closet and looking for something before going back to her side and retrieving a jean jacket. She handed it over to you and a light blush crept onto your face as you slipped it on
“are you sure?” you knew it was going to be cold and you certainly weren’t opposed to wearing her jacket but you didn’t know if you two had reached that level comfortability yet. Apparently, you had as Makkari gives you a nod and motions for you to turn around and look in the mirror
“it looks good, Thank you” You gave her a smile that she returned before the two of you continued getting ready.

x
After five hundred years spent with the Eternals, the war with the deviants is put to an end. The team has split up in trying to take care of the last remaining deviants. You're in Mexico City watching the fall of the Aztec Empire. The past five hundred years have been amazing with Ikaris despite the constant threat of war over your heads.
"Where are the others?" Ajak asks.
"We had to split up," Makkari signs.
She's been teaching you Sign Language over the past five hundred years, and you've been fluent for the past four. You've mastered a lot of languages over those four years that you've been grateful to know.
There were more Deviants than you said," Thena says.
"Once the others kill these last Deviants, we will have eliminated them all from the planet."
You look back at the war happening. Everyone is fighting each other to the death because one side wants to be proven right while the other side is fighting to show them that they aren't. Druig has the power to mind control and he is about to mind control everyone to calm down, but Ajak prevents him from doing so.
"Don't. We don't interfere in their wars."
"This isn't war. It's genocide. Their weapons have become too deadly. Maybe it wasn't such a good idea helping them advance, Phastos," Druig accuses.
"Technology is a part of their evolutionary process, Druig. It's not exactly something that I can stop."
"No, you can't, but I can."
"Stay strong," Makkari signs.
You look back at the others when you notice something wrong with Thena. Gold lines shine over her face and her eyes gloss over in a milky white.
"It's too late," she mutters. "Everyone is going to die."
"Thena?"
Thena creates a gold sword from her powers but before she can hurt Sersi, Makkari rushes her away with her super speed.
"Thena? Thena, no!" you yell.
She stabs Phastos in the stomach, but Makkari moves him out of the way so that she only grazes her. You use your air powers to blast Thena away, but it doesn't work as much as you hoped it would. She tosses her sword at you, and it lodges itself in your shoulder. You cry out in pain and fall to the ground as Makkari rushes her away. Thena creates another sword and stabs Makkari in the gut, causing the both of them to crash to the ground. Thena stands up and swings her sword, but Ajak stands in the way so that the tip of her sword goes through her hand. It doesn't seem to affect Ajak, so Thena retracts her sword just as Ajak uses her powers. She holds her hand out with gold circles and lines connecting all of her fingers, and it seems to calm Thena down to where her eyes go back to their normal color.
"Don't listen to your head, Thena. Listen to my voice. You are safe. You are loved. You're our Thena."
Thena's eyes turn stark white again, and she creates more magical swords and shields to fight Ajak. She pushes Ajak away, spins a full circle, and stabs Ajak in the stomach with her sword from behind. Gilgamesh is quick to respond, and he wraps his arms around Thena from behind to stop her.
"Hey, Thena! Hey! Stop, stop, stop!"
Thena breaks away from Gilgamesh and fights him with the intent to kill. You know this is a situation better handled internally than with you getting involved, so you tend to your own wounds. Ajak starts to heal Makkari who is grateful for her help. Ikaris comes back from killing deviants on his side of the world, but he doesn't rush to you immediately.
He looks to his right and sees Sersi who is also injured from Thena and Gilgamesh fighting. It takes him two seconds to decide who to run to and it's you. It's only two seconds but it doesn't go unnoticed by you.
"Are you okay?"
"Yeah, I'll be fine," you wince and let your powers heal you slowly.
"Thena, please. Come back to us."
Thena isn't relenting, so Gilgamesh uses his powers and strikes Thena in the head, causing her to go unconscious. Ajak doesn't want to do this in the middle of the forest where anyone can walk up and see them, so she takes everyone into the sacred temple way above where everyone else is fighting. Thena is laid on the stone table in the middle of the room, but she doesn't wake up right away.
"I thought Mahd Wy'ry was a myth," Sersi sighs.
"What's Mahd Wy'ry?" you ask.
"It's what humans call PTSD or even dementia," Ajak explains. "It only seems to affect Eternals."
"There is no cure so no one talks about it," Phastos shrugs.
Thena gasps awake and looks at everyone in fear and confusion.
"What happened?"
"You attacked everyone. You wounded Sersi, Phastos, Y/N, and you nearly killed Makkari."
"I don't remember."
"You have Mahd Wy'ry. Your mind is fracturing under the weight of your memories. All I can do is erase them so you can start over. I will have to inform Arishem and take you back to the ship where we have the technology to help you."
Apparently, Arishem is their boss. They go to this otherworldly being for instruction and order. He's the one who put them on Earth, and only he can say when they get to leave.
"But she won't be Thena anymore," Makkari signs.
"What if it happens again? She could've killed you. She could have killed all of us."
"Please. Please, I... I want to remember. I want to remember my life." Thena whimpers.
"Thena, I love you, but listen to me. It's not important if you remember or not. Your spirit will remain. You will always be Thena deep inside. Trust me."
"Why should she trust you? You're asking her to let you erase who she is," Druig speaks up.
You stand off to the side and let them hash this out since this seems like an Eternal problem. You'd only make things worse if you were to add your input.
"Druig, I know you're upset, but--"
"Upset?!" he yells at her. "We've trusted you for seven thousand years, and look where you've gotten us. I've watched humans destroy each other when I could stop it all in a heartbeat. Do you know what that does to someone after centuries? Could our mission have been a mistake? Are we really helping these people build a better world? We're just like the soldiers down there. Pawns to their leaders. Blinded by loyalty. It ends now."
Druig turns to the battle happening down below and uses his powers on the soldiers. Immediately, they stop fighting and look at Druig with the same colored eyes as his powers. Ikaris yanks Druig back and slams him against the wall in anger.
"Let them go."
"You're gonna have to make me," he smirks. Ajak pulls Ikaris away to deal with Druig on her own, and Ikaris rejoins your side. "If you wanna stop me, you're gonna have to kill me."
He gives her two seconds to respond, and when she doesn't, he turns and leaves the group. He's going to go off on his own and prosper with the soldiers he's taken hostage.
"I'll watch over Thena," Gilgamesh offers. "Let her keep her memories."
"One day, when she attacks you, you might have to kill her."
"We'll take that chance."
Thena looks down emotionally at the compassion and kindness her friend gives her.
"You may all go. The Deviants are gone. There is no reason for you to stay with me."
"Shouldn't you ask Arishem first? We're a team, we should stay together," Ikaris says.
"I didn't ask you for your advice, Ikaris. Do not forget your place. This is where we say goodbye. You are free to go. I want you to go out there and live a life for yourselves. Find your own purpose, and one day, when we see each other again, I want you to tell me what you found."
With no one tethering you to the other Eternals, you and Ikaris are free to live your life as a couple rather than fighting comrades. It's been fun fighting alongside them, but you're ready to live your life with Ikaris. It took some time to get used to this new life, but you two adapted quickly.
It would be perfect if there wasn't one thing constantly on your mind, always poking at you to make sure you know it's there.
Ikaris and Sersi were in a relationship for five thousand years before he met you, and that kind of time with someone will always stick around no matter how much you declare you're moving on. You didn't see it at first, but Ikaris always chose places to live that were near Sersi. He didn't live right next door to her, but he made sure to always be close enough in case she needed him.
It got to a point where it started affecting your relationship with him. You tried to ignore it for the first few centuries, but it came to a point where you needed to either get out or become a slave to his charm. Ikaris is charming and gorgeous but he's manipulating you without even knowing it. He doesn't mean to do it, but his soulmate is Sersi, and it's time you find yours.
"Ikaris, can we talk?"
Ikaris knows this conversation is coming, he just refuses to believe it's here. He loves you, but he's in love with Sersi.
"I know what you're going to say."
"Then you know it's the right decision. I know you love me and I love you, but you're still in love with Sersi. She's great and another Eternal. I won't live forever, but you two will. It's best if we go our separate ways."
"I'm sorry. I never meant for things to end up like this."
"It's okay. I promise."
With that, you left to go find your soulmate. It's been nine hundred years since you first came to Earth, and you've been to virtually every corner of this planet. New York City will always have a place in your heart, so that's where you go. Technology had evolved immensely since the 1500s, but New York in the 1930s is something you wish everyone can experience. The 20s were truly a gem, and experiencing that by yourself was enlightening.
This is the first time in centuries that you don't have a plan. You can be whoever you want to be, live wherever you want to live, and do whatever you want to do. Maybe you'll open a clothing business and restart that passion of yours. New York may not rely on you to survive, but you could help a lot of people.

Eternal Love - Part 1
pairing: druig x makkari x female reader
summary: reader wants to help fight the bad guys but she’s kind of clumsy so Makkari and Druig are worrying about her 24/7 because their S/O is a well intentioned idiot.
word count: 895
author note: this is definitely going to have more parts! next chapter makkari is going to be added into the mix :)
Tumblr media
Druig had never been an open book, but after 3 years of dating, he had opened up to you. You had been shocked, to say the least, but it was nothing compared to what you felt now, and you were sure Druig felt ten times worse. You could tell he was upset from the clenching of his jaw and his knit together brows.
You were leaning against a wall in the corner, silently observing. You could tell that the man with the Scottish accent didn’t appear to like Druig very much. Ikaris, you believed his name was, barely shifted his gaze away from Sersi, but surprisingly, the younger girl, Sprite, had her eyes fixed on him. What an interesting dynamic, you pondered silently. You prided yourself in being incredibly observant, able to pick up on small details that others would miss.
Sersi was pleading for Druig to join them, but he looked unaffected, and you could tell that he had already made up his mind. “I’m sorry Sersi, I really am… But I have a life here,” he said quietly, his eyes flickering towards you.
“Actually, I think you should go with them,” you said, surprising yourself. Druig looked at you in shock, a hurt expression flashing across his face before closing off. He stalked over to you and grabbed your hand, motioning towards the doors.
When you were outside, away from the prying eyes of his friends, he turned to face you before speaking in a whisper, “I’ve put that part of my life behind me, you know that. The only thing I want is to have a life, with you.”
You sighed wearily, “I want a life with you too, that’s why you have to do this. Who knows how long we’ll have until this Emergence thing happens. Days, weeks, months.. It’s not enough, I want to have our entire life together.” You cupped his cheek with your hand and he leaned into it, closing his eyes slightly. After a few minutes, he pulled away, nodding.
He went to tell the others but you stayed outside, watching the village. He had created an entirely new life here. A little slice of utopia away from the real world and its problems of greed, starvation, war, and poverty. Part of you wished you could run away with him, protect him, but you knew you couldn’t. Your train of thought were cut off when you heard an inhuman scream in the distance.
The events that followed were a blur, Druig had all but locked you in one of the many buildings with the orders to “stay put.” He had kissed your cheek before running off, leaving you alone with your thoughts as you listened to his friends being slaughtered.
You could hear yelling from outside and you were restless, hopping from foot to foot. How could you hide like a coward while the Eternals put their lives on the line? Even Kingo’s valet was out there, part of the action, or at least filming it.
Making up your mind, you unlocked the door and crept out. Your heart was beating a mile a minute and you were terrified that those things could hear it.
The young girl, Sprite, had been flung to the ground by the Deviant creature. It advanced, readying it’s tentacle like appendages to strike. Picking up a rock from the ground, you chucked it at the Deviant’s head, hoping to buy her some time. It missed, quite horribly, but it served to catch the creature’s attention and it turned towards you, giving Sprite a chance to scramble up. The thing narrowed it’s eyes into slits and you ran, but you were no match for it’s speed.
It pounced on you, causing you to screamed in terror, trying to wriggle from it’s grasp when suddenly, a ball of light hit its side, flinging it off you and into a wall.
Kingo, the movie star, offered you a hand and you took it, shaking. “Thank you so much,” you choked out, reeling from your near death experience. You could still smell the thing’s rancid breath.
“Anytime,” he said, looking off into the distance. When you followed his gaze, you saw his valet filming, giving him a thumbs up. “I am an Eternal, a protector of mankind. I was just doing my job.” Lowering his voice to a conspiratory whisper, he leaned in slightly, “Plus, Druig would murder me if you died.”
The monster roared angrily in the distance, brushing itself off, “And that’s my cue,” he sighed.
After the battle, Druig stormed up to you. Apparently he had heard of your little brush with death. He examined every inch of you, looking for the slightest scratch. “Never do that again,” he ordered, his voice trembling slightly. He brushed a strand of hair away from your face with shaking hands and you realized he was terrified he would lose you.
“I’m all right,” you reminded him, gently, “we’re alright.” As if it was an afterthought, you added, “plus, I’m guessing I’ll be pretty close to the Deviants on a regular basis… You know, since I’m coming with you.”
His face said it all.

Druig's POV
The Domo
Something tickled your nose, making you squirm a bit as you were blinking awake from the deep slumber you were in, soft skin against your bare arm and the small scent of something floral, perhaps honey, going through your nostrils.  Your eyes opened, the intense dream you had was slipping away, and the one site that was in front of you made your heart quench and ache.
Makkari, across from you in her own slumber.  You could tell she was sleeping soundly and with nothing haunting her dreams, her perfect lips parted slightly for you to hear her barely snoring.  Her face was rested and calm, no longer filled with worry or fear as it was weeks earlier when you were stopping the Emergence on Earth.  She was back to her normal self: Cheerful, mischievous, and optimistic.  The very speedster you fell in love with so long ago and who had room in your heart when you thought your heart would be lonely.
She was sprawled on her back, limbs loose and calm under the thing sheets with her bare chest being covered barely and her braids around her like a crown.  The faint marks from the previous night scattered on her neck and near her collarbone, making your cheeks flush for a second with the memory of placing those marks there with your own lips and teeth.  No matter how many times you fell into bed together, or how many centuries you loved on one another, it always felt like the first time you kissed her and laid with her.  The electricity on your fingertips against her skin, the euphoria of her breath on your lips as you made her moan and smile, it was all and more you could ever want with her.
But you were distracted by the movement between you and Makkari, a shift in the bedsheets and a low hum heard.  Your eyes moved from Makkari's sleeping body to the one between you two, your eyes widening a bit and a soft smile appeared on your face.
Diana, fast sleep and nestled against your front.

Babylonia
"Has anyone seen Diana anywhere?"
"Probably talking to the horses again out near the town at the stables,"
You were eating an apple as Kingo and Gilgamesh were talking about Diana, you humming and taking one last bite before holding the pit firmly in your hand as Phastos was working away at his station with Sprite watching him with her signature unamused stare.
"We should go get her, the sun's going down and we know she'll chat with those animals for hours on end," Gilgamesh suggested as he gestured to the hallway that lead to the opening ramp, "Ajak will scold her if she comes late again,"
"I'll get her," You spoke, the others watching you now with intrigue as you grabbed a few more apples from the lab station near Phastos, "I need to stretch my legs any who,"
" 'Stretch my legs'….that's what we call it these days," Sprite commented in a snort as you rolled your eyes and walked out of the lab.  You shoved the remaining apples in your pockets and strolled, seeing the sunset light coming through the opening into the Domo.  The tints of orange and yellow seemed inviting as you were greeting by the outside elements, breathing in the upcoming rainfall that could happen within hours.  Perhaps you could ask Diana, since she had a keen way of knowing the weather before it could ever come to be.
Walking along the outside of the city, you knew where the stables were for the horses amongst the noblemen.  It was a familiar path that you took almost every day, the others not knowing of course since you moved mostly in secret and within the shadows.  No matter how hard the day was or how tried you were in your work with the humans, you found yourself walking to the horses.
Mostly, to Diana.
There she was, standing in front of one stall with a beautiful horse who already had his head out to nuzzle at Diana's hands.  She was beaming, touching the top of the horse with her delicate fingers.  You stood back a bit, drinking in the view that was in front of you and how peaceful it was.  Diana was only focused on the horse in front of her, grinning as the horse seemed to be chirping back at her while she was clad in her rosy yellow armor.  There were clear evident signs that she was communicating with that animal: her brows were a pinch together but almost relaxed, her breath shallowing down a split second.  Even the small of a glow in her own orbs, like yours when you used your powers, shining a bit bright as she used her ability on creatures both big and small. She loved each of them, cared for them, and even had some to her bidding from time to time.
Of course, you were intrigued with Diana from the moment you watched her fight against a Deviant. Her fierce nature to protect and defend was mixed with her gentle tones and soothing touches along the earth and with innocent creatures. Even when you assumed you were careful enough, that you had your guard up while you were around her, she still crept into your heart.
"Druig?"
She was watching you, having you return to your thoughts while the horse she was standing in front of chittered at the intruder.  You hummed, walking over with one hand holding the apple pit and the other reaching in to take out two whole apples.
"I bring a peace offering," You said to her, seeing her smile warmly at you when you were finally next to her.  Holding out the apples in your palm, you heard the horse shift back and forth in excitement and Diana chuckle, "I figured your friend here would have better uses for these than Gilgamesh and his cooking,"
"I happen to like his cooking," Diana countered, though there was no heat behind her tone.  She sighed and took one apple, placing it felt against her palm and offering it to the horse.  He nibbled and  took it with ease, Diana's face lighting up with happiness from the gesture.  Then before you could move away from her, She took your wrist gently and moved her fingers along your hand to make your palm flat.  You were frozen for a moment, unsure what to do since her touch on your was so soft and and yet exhilarating simultaneously.  You eyes watched intensely as your palm was now flat, Diana balancing the apple right in the middle and then guiding you to stand in front of the gentle creature.  You didn't know what to do, your track record with animals wasn't great. But Diana was calm next to you as you were nose to nose with a massive horse.  He sniffed at you, making you feel small like an ant in comparison to him.
"Hey, " Diana hummed to you, making you look away from the horse that was staring you down over to her. Her eyes were bright, two pools of light brown and gold that seemed like almost have the same shade of fresh honey from the comb.  You could get lost in them, and something deep inside of you want do just that. As long as those eyes were guiding you home then you didn't care.
"Be calm, he feels your fear," She explained, your eyes quickly going to the horse.  HIs big eyes watching you directly, shooting one huff of hot air from his nostril as Diana gently squeezed your wrist to bring your eyes back to her.
"I got you," She reassured you, her voice soothing like the seashore.  You nodded, saying nothing while Diana guided your hand over to where she wanted to place it.  You looked too, afraid to move or  spook the horse as the apple was right near its lips.  Once again, the horse almost eyed you, possibly reading your energy and if you could be trusted.
He took the apple in one go, some slobber on your palm as Diana laughed. The horse chewed the apple, you sighed in relief as you carefully wiped your hand along your armor on your leg.
"He likes you," Diana commented lightly, reaching up to touch the horses neck, who nuzzled against her palm and fingers. You could only smile, since you something moving deep inside of you from the simple smile she gave and the small touch of her hands on your wrist.  It felt like the world melted away, and it was just Diana.
You were in love with her, and it scared the shit out of you.
Tumblr media
Carefully you moved out of bed, making sure both Diana and Makkari were still asleep and not disturbed by your movements.  Thankfully they were still asleep as you moved out of the bed, finding your pants somewhere on the ground to throw on and tip toe over to the bathroom.  The only source of light that was coming into the room was the scattered stars in the galaxy, clusters of the milky way etched in the back sky and hints of blue and purple swirled together like watercolor.  It gave the haunting glow in your room, which made you stop and look behind you one more time to the massive bed against the wall.  Diana and Makkari fast asleep, their skin tinted with the glow of the stars and cosmic colors.  You never thought you would could two individuals as beautiful as those two in that moment, even as Diana shifted and turned on her other side, nestling into Makkari's hold as Makkari's nose went into Diana's caramel hair.
If you spent the rest of your eternal life watching them both deeply asleep and wrapped in peace, you'd be satisfied.
Finally, you tore your eyes away and went into the bathroom, getting the shower turned on and the water hot.  You watched the rainforest shower head release the water with ease, silently grinning from the modifications Phastos made on the Doom before you all left earth.  You admired the inventor, he had more heart than you ever thought.  Chucking away your pants and going under the cascading water, you closed your eyes and breathed in the steam.  All of the events on that beach flooded your mind, almost clouding it for a moment as you were standing under the running water.  Ikaris nearly killing you and throwing you to the ground, you hearing Makkari's scream that sounded so painful and raw as you slammed into the earth, and lastly feeling the ground around you shake and quiver.  You knew it wasn't from the impact, nor was it from the Emergence since you stopped for a brief moment.
No, you knew who caused that.
You opened your eyes, the water going over your face and almost into your eyes as you looked down  at your skin.   Weeks before they were scarred and tainted from Ikaris, tender to the touch and almost unbearable to move at times.  But your wounds were bearable in comparison to what the others went through.  You were glad it was over, focusing on the new task on finding other Eternals that could exist and could be in other systems.  Earth was behind you, along with the painful memories that were there that you experiences.
But not all the memories were painful.

The Amazon
1600s
How are you, by the way?
"I'm fine, 'Kari," She merely eyes you as you both were sitting together on a fallen log, right in front of a fire that was made inside a pit.  Some of the people in your village were going about their business and leaving the two of you be, one new hut was nearly completed over to the side and another was about to have its foundations laid out.  You paused and looked around the area, the new village that you've help create and protect for nearly 100 years.  The soldiers that came with you stated their own families, littles ones growing before your eyes and giving you the sense of hope that life was good.
It felt better in comparison to what you felt the night you felt your family behind.
"I'm glad you came, Makkari," You explained to her, seeing her stretch out her limb in front of her and get her toes warmed by the fire as you watched her, "Honestly, I've missed you,"
She was a close friend of yours with the family, someone you could be playful with and let your guard down a bit.  She brought out the aloofness that was hidden inside of you that really made an appearance.  Everyone was loved and intrigued by the speedster, with her mischievous side that resulted to her having sticky fingers, or her warm smile that did make you smile in return.
I've missed you too, Makkari signed in return, The others miss you too.
"I'm sure they do," You commented, though she smacked your shoulder.
They do! I think some of them understood where you were coming from after you left.  I know Phastos felt a bit bad, and Sprite too.
"Not Ikaris, no doubt," You grunted as Makkari rolled her eyes, "He is still the Golden Boy for Ajak?"
Its…complicated now, Makkari paused with her fingers, you moving your eyes at her suspiciously as she tried to think of the next thing to tell you.  But you were patient, always hanging on her every word.
Ikaris left Sersi, She explained shortly, your eyes widening a bit as she kept going, He had a massive fight with Ajak about the humans and how we should stay the course with hunting Deviants.  But Ajak was more concerned about the humans…which in return started a massive fight with him.  Sersi tried to defend Ajak and it offended Ikaris.  So….he broke it off with her and left
The last thing you'd except to hear was Ikaris breaking away from the family, let alone leaving Sersi.  They were very much in love with one another, but now to hear this news seemed a bit…uneasy in your own stomach.
"What about everyone else?" You asked her in a softer tone, wondering what the others were doing and not just ikaris.
They're fine.  Sprite misses Ikaris, and Sersi's getting by from it.  Thena is still trying to take care of her Mahd Wy Ry, and Gilgamesh takes her off on their own every once awhile when it happens. Makkari explained, you then reaching down to fiddle with a stick within your fingers and pocket some of the embers in the fire   Of course they would be fine, you wouldn't think otherwise.  It felt like they could move on without you there.  You always like the outsider in more ways than one, and maybe being away from them was what you truly needed.
Makkari reached over to touch your arm, getting your attention back on her now as a soft glow was on her face, Diana misses you too.
Inwardly your heart flickered from the mention of Diana.  You reminded composed, but maybe Makkari saw the fire in the fire pit reflecting in your eyes and how in your shoulders slumped a bit, but you were trying to remain calm and composed. It was the same for you: you missed Diana.  She was a peaceful person to have around and to talk to.  You missed her smile, the kind tone in her voice when you two had your talks together, even the simple touch of her hand against your own.
When you left the family that night, soldiers in two behind you and your heart breaking from witnessing the genocide in front of you, you heard Diana crying.  You saw the tears roll down her face as she begged you to stay, to not leave her.  But as you walked away from her, you could have sworn you heard her heart shatter, her gasp louder than before, and it pained you and haunted you for decades on end.
You missed her, and that love and affection was simmering still within you.
I think you loved her, Your eyes went wide from seeing Makkari sign that sentence to you.  Her face was calm, very calm, and you searched her eyes to see where she was coming from when she said that about you. Makkari was always someone who could see something hidden, or notice a moment that others would never see on a daily basis. Her eyes were always trained to catch the slightest hints or the smaller gestures that seemed private and more intimate.  Were there moments where she saw you and Diana talk or smile, or catching a glimpse of you smirking at her or you making her laugh.
"I did……at one time," You admitted, knowing that Makkari was a close friend and hiding something from her seemed wrong.  She nodded her head as you spoke again, "But I left."
What does that have to do with anything? Makkari asked, confusion on her face.
"I left you all, I left her, 'Kari," You explained, seeing her watching you as you shifted a bit on the log, "She deserves to have someone who'll be there with her and love her,"
And that's not you? She questioned.
"Clearly not," You answered, "You've known me well enough to know that I….I'm not worthy of being love by someone like her.  Or anyone, any who,"  You thought about it long and hard, seeing how love was simple and pure for humans to use with one another and to express to one another.  You secretly wanted that for yourself, having someone in your life who would love all of your flaws and jagged edges.
But when you thought of the one person you wanted that with, your heart sank.
You felt Makkari's fingers go under your chin, making you slowly look up from your spot and over to her eyes.  They were bright, almost a hint of emotion behind it and affection too.  Slowly you felt one hand go down to relate with yours, the twig in your hand falling to the ground and as your palms touched.  The energy shifted and almost hummed, your eyes on hers and everything else melted away.  You could never know what Makkari was going to do next, and you never wanted to.  it was one the first things you promised when she found out you could read minds: you would never read hers. Her mind was a fortress, as was every mind, and you only wished to get to know her the old fashioned way.  Teasing her and giving her kind gestures, seeing her bright smile that made any day feel a pinch better, Makkari was close to your heart.
Yet she surprised you when she leaned over to kiss you softly and intimately.
Thoughts left your mind as you leaned back into her with no hesitation, kissing her back and placing a hand softly into her hair.  You had no idea that Makkari would do something like this to you, and yet as the same time you were glad.  Perhaps you were gone for too long to unpack these feelings with her and talk them out with her since you too had feelings for the speedster.  You were calm with her, connected with her as close friends.  Makkari did make you feel special in your own skin and with your own abilities, her presence alone was soothing to you on the toughness days. Inwardly, you were pondering how you never saw Makkari in the way you saw Diana, and yet Makkari was there this whole time.  Simply waiting for her moment to show you, express to you, how she felt towards you.
She pulled away, your lips barely leaving hers as she eyed you with so much love evident in your bright eyes.  You gulped seeing her then softly grin as she took her spare hand that wasn't holding yours and signed softly between you two.
You are worthy of love, she stated to you, making you genuinely smile at her for the first time in decades.
Tumblr media
You felt arms around your waist, a soothing and soft chest against your back, and cooling lips that were gentle to the touch along your shoulder blades. You knew that touch and sensation, the dip of her arms along your skin and the soft feeling of her breast against your backside. You grinned, pausing for a brief moment leaning back to the warm body behind you. Kisses were pressed along your shoulders and then into your neck, peppering your skin to make you chuckle and then turn in those arms holding you close.
Makkari, bare and gorgeous, peering up at you as she was getting just as wet under the shower head.
"My beautiful, beautiful Makkari," You hummed, leaning down to nuzzle her nose with yours.  She grinned, almost mirroring the same moment you two had on the beach when you reunited with one another.  Your forehead touched hers, sealing you two together gently as you could.  It felt good to have her in your arms again, to breathe her as a reminder that all was well and no sense of danger was going to come your way.
Ever since you and Makkari got together, you've stayed in contact with one another.  Your relationship was a secret to the others, Makkari needing to go back and be with them as you stayed in the village to help protect it.  Yet she would always run back to you when she got the chance, it was so easy for her to do so.  Your love for her was growing and blossoming as time went on, craving to not just hold her close and kiss her senseless, but to feel her soul intertwining with yours too.  Even as the rest of the family scattered on their own, Makkari stayed close by to you.  She stayed on the Domo when Ajak and Phastos went off to America, she hoped to keep it safe in case you were all called to go back to Olympia.
Around the 1800s when Makkari broke the news that Diana left for Europe, you felt a twinge of regret inside of you for not telling Diana your feelings.  Of course, you were beyond happy and in love with Makkari, but Diana had her own personal spot in your heart and you knew it was never going to go away.  You told Makkari about her feelings for her, never wishing to hide or lie to her since you loved Makkari far too much.  It was good to get it off your chest, to let it be free and no longer a hindering sensation.
But you weren't ready to hear that Makkari also loved Diana.
"You're just as radiate soaking wet here with me here than ever before," You teased, hearing her giggle as you wrapped your arms around her shoulders to pull her in close, her arms staying around your waist.  You two hugged closely in the shower, that sense of intimacy was sacred and would never lead to anything else extreme.  It was what you loved about her: you could hold her close with nothing being a barrier and it felt just as intimate and sexy in your mind.  She made everything great, amplifying the feelings within you with just a smile. It made you beyond glad that the near Emergence was behind you and you could only go forward.
But when you felt her shiver for a moment, shaking a bit in your arms, you worried.   Reaching behind you with one hand and keeping your gaze on the top of her head, you turned the water off finally and silence filled the room.  That's when you heard the snuffling, coming from her.
"Hey," You hummed, touching her arms and rubbing them softly in a way to coax her to look at you. It pained you that she was feeling a certain way there in your arms, in what should be a safe space for her.  She looked up at you then, her eyes glistened from tears.
What's wrong? You asked with one hand, seeing her grimace a bit as you kissed her head, We're okay now, Makkari.  Remember?
We…She paused, inhaled sharply, and took a moment to collect her thoughts.  Finally, she kept her gaze at you, showing the depth of conflict that was etched on her face, We almost lost her, Druig.
You flashed back to the beach, seeing Diana on the ground covered in blood and the color on your body almost slipping away thanks to her Eternal Energy almost slipping.  Seconds slowed to minutes as you cradled her in your arms, trying to stop the bleeding as Makkari was taking her hand with her nimble fingers.  You both were fearing the worst: loosing the one person who made all of this world more tolerable and bearable.
It was the worst few moments in your life.
"I know," You hummed as you, kissing her forehead lovingly as one hand cradled her neck and the other wrapped around her shoulders, "I hate it too, 'Kari.  But she's here with us, okay?  We're never gonna lose her again,"
Being with Diana as she healed from the injuries the Ikaris inflicted on her was painful, almost torture.  Since Ajak wasn't there to heal her within moments, you had to rely on Phastos and what he had in his lab.  He made medical instruments out of thin air, checking her vitals and starting the healing process with her as both yourself and Makkari could only watch in stone silence and worried eyes.  Makkari was sniffled into your chest, watching with her heart breaking as Sersi helped Phastos in changing Diana's armor and dressing the wounds. Inwardly, you were cursing Ikaris and what he did to her and Diana was defending Makkari on the battlefield.   Slices in her skin that looked like ribbons, blood caked in her hair and along her fingers, it was all too much.  You wished Ikaris was still around, so you could kill him yourself.
But Makkari did enough damage on the Golden Boy for you two combined.
You just had her back in your life again, those feelings that you buried were coming back to life as Diana was reunited with you all to stop the Emergence and save the world.  Your life was just as sweet with Makkari there, you two stayed in contact and love with one another since you two kissed in the Amazon.  But with Diana, there was a natural sensation of letting her slip in and make herself amongst the pair of you.  Her calming nature, her sensibility for others around her, and her willingness to be kind seemed so perfect for you and Makkari to have.  It felt right, at least to you.  For a split moment, you thought it would for Makkari either, wondering what she would think if you confessed it to her.
"Diana is here and with us," You reassured Makkari, kissing away her tears and keeping her close to you, even when you two were still bare and wet from the shower, "And I know neither one of us is willing to be without her for now on.  We'll keep her safe, okay?"
Makkari nodded her head with a sniff, making you smile as you then moved to grab two towels.  You dried yourself quickly before you threw on your sweatpants again before you moved to dry Makkari carefully.  Makkari just smiled from the affection you were giving her, a hint of blush evident on her perfect cheeks as you wrapped the towel around her and tucked it in to stay.
"Let's go back to bed and to our Diana, what do you say?" You asked her coyly, seeing her smile and nod.  She took your hand in hers, the familiar sensation of love seeping from your hands joined together as she lead the way with no abandon and with a bounce in her step.  All you two were focusing on that early morning was the Eternal sleeping soundly in your head.
Your third piece and sense of home.
Tumblr media
Days Before Emergence
Scotland
You touched down on the cool grassy field in front of you as the others were behind you, the clouds over the entire area a deep grey with the threat of upcoming rain.  Even the sweet scent of the wildflowers and rich soil surrounding you with the wind kicking up as your boots dug into the earth below you. You shivered, tucking your leather jacket in a bit tighter since you were so used to the jungle for the past 500 years.  This was very different, and yet the same.
All you could see was green, green and lots of sheep.
They were grazing throughout the area, oblivious to you and the spaceship behind you while the others joined you along the high grass and wildflowers.  There had to have been at least 100 of them, a few lambs here and there but mostly adult sheep in small clusters.
"So……we're gonna find her amongst the sheep?" Phastos asked, unamused and unconvinced.  You said nothing, but Makkari sped up to stand next to you with her eyes looking amongst the plains.  She too seemed determined to find her old comrade, you saw it in her eyes that she was in the zone to find her prize.  You said nothing, but maybe you saw the wheels turning in her head too, wondering if you two were thinking the same thing about the same person that you both have missed all this time.
“Of course she would be a farmer,” Sprite grumbled.
“I think it suits her well,” Thena commented with air on her lips.
A low growl made your head snap over to a big, medium-sized sheepdog.  He was standing in front of you and Makkari with its ears tucked down and his teeth snarling.  His eyes were on you, making you reach out to grab Makkari's hand since he saw you two as threats.  You knew dogs and their mannerisms, you handled them in your village throughout the centuries.  This one was warning you, maybe wishing to protect the sheep.
"Good doggy…good doggy…" Kingo said with a hint of fear behind you two.  Before anyone could move or say anything, however, a distinct whistle that was sharp and high rang in the air. The sheepdog shot his head up, his ear up and alert again, and he turned on his hind legs to run towards the sound of the whistle.  Everyone looked, including you, seeing one lone figure perched amongst the sheep some length away.  The dog ran to her, wagging in glee as the figure leaned down to pet its fur.  It took you a solid second to realize who it was, the worn blue flannel she was wearing with jeans and boots and her long hair in a loose ponytail behind her head with her bangs moving across her eyes with the wind.
Diana.  Your heart swelled with the sight.
Makkari moved before you said a word, her speed made her appear in front of Diana within a millisecond and why held each other close.  They both were in their own world, Diana grinning widely as she picked up Makkari within her arms and made her hover over the ground and hug her close.  Maybe to the others, it seemed like an intimate moment.  Maybe they looked away even, but you were watching them closely with nothing but happiness there evident on your face and in your smile.  In your mind, they looked….perfect together as they reunited.  Makkari pressed her forehead against Diana's, Diana having a massive grin on her face as they locked eyes.
As if they were meant to be.
Finally, after a long moment when Makkari was placed back down on the ground, Diana looked over at the rest of the group.  You could see her staring at each person, the smile never leaving her face as she walked with Makkari through the tall grass.  Her eyes finally landed on you, making your lower stomach flutter for a split moment as you smirked at her.
"Hello, Diana," You said to her, saying her name as if you lost your breath.  She merely hugged you close, you feeling complete.  Maybe all that time you were in the jungle, you felt something was missing inside of you.  A small sliver was gone that you never thought would be filled up, even with Makkari since she filled a good amount of love in your heart.  But Diana had to make it complete, fully complete.  Like the last puzzle piece that you thought you lost throughout the whole process.
"I've missed you so much, Druig," She sighed in your hug, you squeezing her a bit tighter.  If only you didn't have to deal with the upcoming Emergence, or give her the bad news of the deaths of Ajak and Gilgamesh.  If only this was a positive reunion, not with the world hanging in the balance.  But you were going to take these few seconds with her and make them good.
"I've missed you too, Diana,"
Tumblr media
You watched the opening that had back into your bedroom, seeing Makkari moving swiftly on the tips of her toes over to the massive bed again, you folding your arms in front of you and watching Makkari slip back under the silk coverts be next to Diana again.  Diana was still sleeping soundly, humming a bit from the movement in the bed and turning to find the warmth of Makkari.  Makkari grinned, like a cat about to nap the day away, as she softly closed her eyes and again and took Diana's hand against her own, placing both on her chest.
Safe, they both were safe and in this room with you.  It was a good reminder for you, The Immortal Mind Reader and Controller who could bend another person to his will, still had a tender heart.  everyone else saw you as brooding, sarcastic eve, but a fair few saw love in you.  A fair few saw the love nestled deep inside of you like a locket, waiting for the right ket to let it fee and grow.
In your case, it was two.
Finally, you walked over with your eyes trained on the two Eternals occupying your bed.  It used to only be fit for two, but you shyly asked Phastos to expand it when you all went to South Dakota to rest and recharge.  Phastos merely chuckled, making all the modifications that were needed for you three and also for Thena so that you could travel the stars for others.
"Eh, who am I to judge? I can see you three are in love, and love is a powerful thing, isn't it?" He asked.
It was.
Now there was space for you all there amongst the silk sheets and black pillows.  That first night together on the Domo, going out into vass openess of space and wrapped in each other's arms was blissful and memorable.  You savored every movement, any action that you gave them both and they gave to you.  Diana's soft skin against your lips as you kissed her neck to make her whimper, Makkari's skillful hands as she rang them in your hair as she rolled her hips in your lap.  Even watching Makkari and Diana together, Diana then moaning in Makkari's mouth as she was brought to pleasure again and again.
You would never forget it, and you knew they wouldn't either.
"Mmmmm…Druig?" You heard Diana whisper out loud in her dream.  You slipped under the covers, moving to hover over her and see the colors of outer space mapped out on her face and skin.  You reached out to touch her cheek, feeling her nuzzle against your skin as she slowly open her eyes.  The pools of the stars danced in her orbs, blinking slowly and seeing you gaze at her.
"I'm here, Di," You replied softly, seeing a soft gaze on her lips, "Only took a shower is all,"
"Did we….find anyone yet?  Did…did Thena…" Diana started to ask, but you heard the sleepiness in her tone as you leaned down to kiss her cheeks and her nose.
"Not yet, but you shouldn't worry about that now since it’s too early in the morning,” You hummed in return, "Get some rest, my love.  I got you, as does Makkari," As if on cue, Makkari leaned into Diana a bit more, her nose touching Diana's shoulder and their joined hands still against her upper chest.  Diana looked at Makkari briefly, smiling from the site of her other lover close by.  She kissed her head, Makkari smirking in her deep sleep from the gesture as Diana looked back up at you.
"Thank you, Druig." She thanked, you pondering at her statement for a moment.  She was thanking you for many things at one with those two words, which was Diana's personality no doubt.
She thanked you for letting her into your mind when you thought it wasn't good enough for others to read or experience.  She thanked you for being her friend in the earlier times on Earth.  She thanked you for never letting her feel less of herself or ashamed for her love of nature or animals.
Ultimately, she thanked you for loving her wholeheartedly and to no avail.
It was you that needed to thank her.  You had to thank her for seeing all of you, both the good and the bad.  For bringing out the best in you when others would have gone the other way.  For showing you the goodness of the world and all of the life placed there.
For simply, loving you with no abandon.
"Oh no," You replied calmly, leaning down to touch your nose against her, "Thank you, my darling Diana."
You sealed it with a kiss, feather soft to the touch with centuries in the making.  It felt like the morning sunbeams against your skin with the new day, or the burst of flavor of ripe cherries on your lips from the first bite.  Even the sweet scent of the upcoming rainfall in the autumn season, all of the sensations that brought you joy and bliss all were rolled into one when you kissed her for the first time.
When you kissed her every time.
"Come back to bed with me then," Diana coxed you, running her spare hand in your hair to pull you down.  You went willingly as if she was a siren out in the mass black ocean coaxing you to safety and bliss.  You lay on your stomach, head nestled against her shoulder and her arm around your head like a halo or a source of protection.  You were safe, safe enough to let those guards down and be at peace.  Earth was behind you, all of that pain and suffering you felt was behind you.
What was in front of you was there in your bed, and you were blissfully happy.
The End.

Ambrosia (Druig x Fem! Eternal reader who has siren like abilities x Makkari)
A/N: There was no way of anyone asking for this, but this idea has been itching my brain for days. What better way to kick my writing on this acc off ;). Please let me know if you see any formatting/grammatical errors!
Enjoy! <3
Tumblr media
From the first moment they set eyes on you, Druig and Makkari knew they would be in love with you for the remainder of time that they walked the planet, and then some.
Right from the get go, the second you and all the rest of the Eternals woke up on the ship, there seemed to be something different about you.
Each of you were created by Airshem to be unique and special in your own way, that was a given, you all needed to work as a unit, to each offer your own talents in order to defeat the deviants. And yet, you always seemed so much more, how should I put it... Enticing than the others.
Everything about you seemed to draw people in, your hair, your scent, your eyes, hell- everything about you appearance wise was other worldly, godlike. To a higher extent than the others, while every eternal had some sort of spectacular ability, it shouldn’t have exactly been surprising that yours was visible from the second you breathed your first breath. Yours, was to be perfect.
Appearance aside, when you spoke for the first time, it seemed like the entire room fell under your heel. Everyone stopped conversing with each other, even a creature one minute old could tell you were special. Your voice seemed like the finest ambrosia, like a forbidden fruit- a guise to draw people in. You soon understood that was exactly what it was meant to do.
Your ability was simple compared to the others, when singing, you could hypnotize and lead humans away from possible danger, or lure deviants to it. The thing that set you apart from the legend your ability would soon grow to be, was that you could control any creature, you could control eternals.
That’s what made you so dangerous.
Over the course of a thousand years, you had soon grown to be irreplaceable to your family.
Sometimes you told yourself it was just your ability, but it seemed that everyone, even Thena, would easily take a bullet for you.
Or rather, arrow.
You didn't speak much, it seemed that when you did it only caused trouble, and to be honest, it bored you to have every mortal wilt at even the faintest hum from your lips.
The humans always called you the quiet one, you enjoyed the festivities, making friends with these creatures you were supposed to protect, but for the most part, you kept to yourself.
The only time you ever really spoke was around the others, over time your ability affected them less, and it made you feel more comfortable. More like you belonged.
Druig and Makkari had been, as Kingo would call it, “Canoodling”, for nearly 700 hundred years. It seemed that as the quiet one (the one who always listened) you were the only one who caught on.
You were the only one who noticed, as Druig would only allow himself to smile genuinely when she was around.
You were the only one who saw as Makkari would subtly grab his hand to guide him through a crowed market on especially busy days, and how he would let her.
You, were the only one who could smell the attraction on both of them from a mile away.
And yet, you also seemed to be the only one to not notice how both incredibly in love with you they were.
You were used to declarations of love, and people making exceptions for you, it stopped having an effect after the first 100 years. So when Druig seemed to allow you to stand a bit closer to him than he would anyone who wasn’t Makkari, and when Makkari would spend nearly hours sitting with you while you sang, knowing full well she couldn’t hear you, you didn’t even glance.
You were so certain, it was just familial, they had each other, they didn’t need you.
It didn’t occur to you that you could love more than one person at a time, back then it was considered taboo. The only time you had multiple partners, was if you were a greedy king with concubines, you never considered sharing a lover to be a wholesome concept, which only made you hate yourself for liking both of them even more.
There were things you liked equally as much about both of them, you couldn’t bring yourself to choose!
Something that always made you like Makkari, she couldn't hear you, your ability had no effect on her for the most part, and yet, she always gravitated towards you.
You liked that Druig was real, down to earth. That he would be honest, and then he liked you genuinely, not because of some power you were stuck with.
Believe me, if he didn't, he would’ve let you know a long time ago.
Makkari loves your consideration, that you put yourself in a place were you choose not to speak because you don't want to be unfair to those around you.
As well as the fact, that while she was never insecure, it felt nice having someone around who wasn't totally vocal. It made her feel like she had someone to relate to.
Makkari could never hear your beautiful singing, but she could feel the vibrations, and she described them as “feeling Olympia”.
Druig liked simply being around you, he liked having someone calm and mellow to match his destructive personality. Fire and water.
You were also similar to Makkari, Makkari was similar to you, he liked that entire personality you both shared. He liked you.
Druig never felt faith in the human race, Makkari may have, but she didn’t really act that much against Druig’s opinions. You did.
You fought him tooth and nail over it, over how they’d show you kindness despite not being aware of what ability you possessed. That was what Druig liked the most, when your fire would occasionally light, and rival his.
They were both together before they were with you, but when they both came to the conclusion the attraction they felt for you was shared, they truthfully wasted little time before acting on it.
They had gotten Ajak’s blessing, well, Makkari did- Druig was too busy sulking over how “stupid” it was.
“we both like her- can we bloody do s’methin about it now?!”
Their confession was well planned and scenic.
They had both taken you to your favorite place in the kingdom, telling you it was a surprise, and once they brought you there, they told you how they felt.
It took some coaxing, but you were in their arms soon enough, and you wouldn't be letting go anytime soon.
The humans were kept unaware of you three, some suspected, but none had the gall to accuse it.
The others, well, they each came to their own conclusions in due time.
Cue big-bad, protective, older sister Thena! Towards Druig anyway, she trusted Makkari.
These two cannot resist you. Can you blame them?! You are so unbelievable perfect, and your theirs.
Sometimes when you all are alone, they ask you to sing for them. Makkari just lives for the vibrations, and Druig just uses a simple mind trick to keep himself from falling under your spell.
You are their life, and the three of you would go to the ends of the earth fo each other.
And in Makkari’s case, that is a very possible task.

Dad!Druig Headcanons
druig x reader
druig x mother!reader
Tumblr media
Druig is absolutely in love with your daughter when she’s born
He didn’t think he could ever love anything as much as her, besides you
Druig wrapping her in a dark red blanket that is too long and trails behind him as he walks around the house with the baby
You two come to name her Gaia, after her almost immediate love for the earth and nature
He is always the first one up with her when she cries at night
You find your husband walking through your gardens at night showing your daughter all of the plants to try to soothe her
Phastos teaching Druig how to change a diaper
Family picnics in a field
Druig making and placing a grass crown on her small head
The giggles Gaia makes from the tickling sensation on her head from the grass
Gaia crawling around just to grab the grass with her small hands
Auntie Sersi
Druig reading Gaia’s mind whenever she cried so he could help take care of whatever she needed faster
Gaia’s face getting dirty with all types of berries after a snack, and discovering her father also had the matching mess on his face
“Why are you laughing at me? What is it?”
Gaia joining in laughing at Druig even though she has no clue what’s happening
Druig always protecting his girls
He always feels more comfortable when Gaia’s cradle is in your bedroom for the night
Druig falling asleep with Gaia on his chest
Gaia’s first words
“Come on! Say mama,”
“She’s gonna say dad first. I can feel it.”
Of course, she said dada first
You cooking with Gaia strapped to your chest
You sneaking Gaia extra small chopped up vegetables as you add them to the food
Druig coming up from behind you and wrapping his arms around you and Gaia on your chest, resting his head in the crook of your neck
Having a set of on call babysitters
Maybe minus Thena
But Thena is Gaia’s favorite Auntie (Don’t tell Sersi)
Sprite creating illusions for her and playing best with Gaia out of all of the eternals
When the Deviants return, Druig sends you two off to a secluded island
It hurts him so badly leaving you there, but his main motivation was to save you two
He was gone for three months
There was never a moment that Druig didn’t spend thinking about you two
He missed Gaia’s first steps
It broke your heart when she would keep asking for him
“Dada?”
You would just hold her tiny body against yours trying not to cry, just hoping Druig was safe
Gaia would struggle sleeping on this island
She usually needed a walking around the house and a song from her dad to fall asleep
Druig would never admit to you that he ever actually sang to her, but you would hear his slight hums from down the hallway
When he returned you and Gaia were playing on the beaches.
You scooped her up and ran to him, getting your feet wet in the water
You held Gaia as you kissed your husband, she grabbed a handful of Druig’s hair and started pulling.
“Ow-ow-ow-ow,”
You all sat together one last time on the island, feeling whole once again watching the sun set
You were holding Gaia’s tiny hands as she marched around the beach, attempting to walk far enough to her father
She almost made it, falling at Druig’s feet
He picked her up and showered her with small kisses all over her face
“Daddy missed you, baby.”

Fading into the Shadows snippets
Here are some random sentences/small phrases from what's written so far;
"No one could match their love.”
"Zinnia's were their favourite flower."
It had all our secrets.
"You thinking what I'm thinking, beautiful?"
even though they knew it'd be almost impossible to die.
Confusion spread across Druig's face.
she was idealising them almost too much.
I tried to get a range of phrases from random points in the fic that sound pretty ambiguous. I'd like to hear what you thoughts are on the fic; what it might be and stuff like that.

⊱ ────── {.⋅ ✯ ⋅.} ────── ⊰
Occasionally, he lets himself slip back into the bigger picture.
When he does, it's frightening. He'd grown accustomed to the society he had created, the one with completely different standards and restrictions. There were no rumbling trains passing by his bedroom window, no filtered voices through a radio, no clanking from the streets down below.
In this tangled jungle, there were no streets, no trains, no radios, and much to his dismay, no you.
This was the life he had chosen. He was proud of the people he'd raised, the community he'd grown. Over the centuries, he's watched the human race continue their wars. He'd heard of the enslavement of some, the massacres of others. He was grateful for the safety he was able to give for his people.
Druig didn't view himself as a God, but he certainly was in power. He'd experienced everything there was to human life - from birth (he'd even helped with a few) to death - and had grown admirable of it. He was appreciative for the flawed ways of humans.
However, there was always something that stung a little more than he would've preferred.
He'd watched them fall in and out of love. He'd seen them cry for love, beg for love, and even die for love. He'd witnessed the pain and thrill of it. And always, was he reminded of you.
Brooklyn. 1944.
He'd told them that this was a quick trip. It was usual for him to sporadically leave for a month or two, and while no one had ever been told about you, a few of the villagers suspected their leader had put his heart in someone else's hands.
It was quick trip, that's all. He reminded himself repeatedly on his journey. He would visit just to see you despite how much he hated the modern world. Anything was worth it for you. Fortunately, mind control was helpful when traveling through South America, sailing across the Atlantic Ocean, and passing by sets of Islands until he could see in the horizon the figure of a woman.
She was a reminder of how long it had been since he'd seen you.
It had been long before there were skyscrapers and automobiles passing through the streets. You never stayed in one place for too long - in your case, more than thirty years - but he'd remembered your last conversation in Paris.
"America is thriving, Druig," you smiled, playing with the buttons on his shirt. One had been loose, just hanging by a thread, and you'd promised to sew it back for him. "I'd love to see it, anyway."
Outside your open windows lived the nightlife of Paris. The streetlamps had been lit for hours at the very least, the flames glimmering and twitching in the darkness. Couples walked the streets below, arms in arm and hands in hand. If you listened closely, you could hear their conversations of love. With Druig's heart beating directly under your ear, nothing else could have been more perfect in that moment.
He hummed in amusement. You were curled under his arm, head on his chest and his thumb rubbed over your shoulder. "Why would you want to leave 'the city of love'?" Druig mocked you. You had always been a romantic.
Besides, if there was a man going around by the name 'Captain America', he was sure you had something to do with it.
Stepping off of the docks, Druig did his best to adapt to the smells of the city. There was a rotting scent coming from a random direction, an odor of wet stray dogs and their food from garbage cans followed him into the streets, and then an aroma of what Druig sensed was cold vegetable soup and stale bread.
With a bag swung over his shoulder - the villagers back in the forest had slipped in some goods, which consisted of handmade clay pottery, because while they didn't know who, they knew their leader was visiting someone - Druig began to push his way through the crowded city.
Fashion had dramatically changed...was that a woman's ankle? A man wore a jacket made from the same material as potato sack, and a boy's shoes had holes in the front. There were the occasional men dressed in pinstripe suits with shiny suitcases, but they did their best to refrain from making contact with anyone else as much as possible. It disgusted Druig. He admired humans but they could tear each other apart in a way that he hated.
He already missed the people of his village, but anything was worth you.
You had been living in a small tenant. The windows were dirty with old rainwater and smoke, and the door to the lobby had a broken lock. Druig would've been worried but he knew you were more than capable of handling yourself.
He imagined how he would find you. Would you be sorting through a book or gliding through the kitchen? Did you still have the little origami swan he'd made for you all those years ago sitting on your shelf? Most importantly, was there anyone else you shared your bed with? Your heart?
Only when he appeared at your door, knocking twice on the wood, he didn't hear you shuffling inside to open it.
It was silent. And that scared him.
But then there were footsteps behind him - light and airy, he knew exactly who they belonged to. There was a pause, a comfortable shift of silence in the air as you stood a foot away with your groceries in hand. The dress you wore was pretty, but you were always prettier.
Blue eyes against yours. The thinker and the fighter. Before he could even speak, you smiled, "Would you like to come in?"
Your voice was still sweet and welcoming. It was home. He followed through your door, invited with the smell of cinnamon. It was refreshing from the stench of the city. Your kitchen was small, and the dining room wasn't much of a room but more of a single table with two chairs near a window. In front of the fireplace sat one long couch accompanied by an old armchair he recognized from Paris.
On your table sat a small vase of peonies. A few were gray and practically dust, but others were vibrantly alive. You set your three bags of groceries on the counter. "I can make you something if you'd like." So sweet.
"I don't need anything," Druig said thoughtfully. He put his hand over yours and rubbed your thumb. "I know I said I'd be back sooner-"
"10 years sooner," you corrected him. It was true; Druig had made an oath in Paris that he would see you again, so you were surprised to have waited a decade later than he'd promised. You weren't cross or aggrieved, but you were right to be at least a little upset.
Druig's heart broke at the thought of you being alone, knowing that sometimes you could let your thoughts get the best of you if there wasn't someone else to aid you. "We were having complications at the village," it was your turn to rub his hand in comfort. You knew how the first war would affect him.
"It's okay, Dru," you smiled, kissing his chin. How he missed your lips on him, he'd never be able to explain it.
He pressed his forehead to yours. Both of your eyes closed as the moment enveloped you. Even the sounds of the city outside began to drown out. When he opened his eyes, Druig glanced to a stack of papers scattered over your counter. You weren't one for clutter. "Looks like you really do need me," he joked, and you smiled. With a nod of consent, you turned to the groceries as he flipped through your mail.
"Jane B. Acklam, from St Bartholomew's Hospital...in London," Druig laughed impressively. "You're famous, aren't you?"
"That would be Kingo," you take the letter from his hand and looked over the address. "I was a nurse for them in 1915," Druig's heart clenched when he noticed the sadness taking over your tone. In your eyes he could see everything. You admired humans as much as he did. "I suppose they want me back."
Druig wanted to comfort you and wipe away any memories of a battlefield, but he took your sudden smile as a sign to change the subject. There was an envelope on your counter that had been ripped open and inside was a letter. "Well, look at you," he teased, watching as you playfully rolled your eyes. "An admirer?"
He couldn't understand much of the scribbled writing, but there were a few words he could make out. "Love", "see you again", "after the war, we can go dancing", and "With love, Steve".
"He'll get over it," you smiled fondly of the Captain, but he wasn't truly yours. "Besides, I've got someone else to keep me happy."
Druig discarded the letter, and smirked. "I wonder..." his fingers tilted your chin so your lips angled perfectly with his. You only met gently, just barely brushing against each other. It was serene and intimate. "Beautiful, beautiful (y/n). I missed you."
Cheeks turned red. Your eyes began to open again but his remained close. He was taking his time to remember this moment, because all of those centuries ago, he promised you one thing.
Down your knees fell, skin scuffing from the rough stones below you. You could your bones shake. He was walking away, taking your whole world with him. "Druig!" You screamed after him. Your voice was shattered, the same as your heart.
He didn't even turn to look at you. His footsteps on the stairs halted. The entire city was covered with those of golden eyes. They all faced you both, watching as your lover slowly abandoned you. From behind you, Ikaris held his arms against his family attempting to rush to aid you and to convince Druig to come back home.
"Druig, please," you refused to let yourself cry. Not in front of him and not under these circumstances. "You can't leave."
You could've sworn you heard him laugh. "And you can't come with me," he spoke without even turning to face you. The moment was raw and unbearable, and never in your life had you done anything to deserve this. Even Druig knew that. So why was he tearing you apart? "You don't work without them, (y/n). You're their pawn, and I can't fit in with that."
Down your heart fell, millions of pieces left there in Tenochtitlan, even to this day.
Kneeled over so your forehead touched the stone steps, he finally turned and met your eyes. "Beautiful, (y/n)," he cooed, taking your chin into his hands. He had never abandoned you before. Your time on earth had been spent with him, not a moment alone. The thought of the years to come and spending them by yourself was frightening. "I'm sorry to leave you."
Somewhere along time, you'd learned to move on without the lost pieces of your heart. You healed, and when he returned back to you a century later, you forgave him--not as easily as he would've preferred, though.
"Have you missed me?" his voice brought you back to the sweet reality where you both rested in each other's arms.
Druig's eyes were desperate. Even if he knew the truth, he would still dig deep to find it. He always had to know. But he suddenly felt stupid for even asking; the smile on your face confirmed it. "You should stay," you murmured, "and never leave again."
He chuckled so deep that it shook your bones, wrapping his hands around your waist and hips so there were goosebumps forming on your skin. "You know I wish I could, love," You let yourself turn to putty in his hands as he lifted you onto your small counter top. With your dress riding up your thighs, there was a shock of coolness against your skin. Druig liked the way you smiled.
Kisses were left on your neck. "My beautiful (y/n)," slowly, you began to melt. "Let me love you."
-
He would leave again. Only once had he done it in quiet and when he'd returned years later, you wouldn't talk to him for days. From then on, he would wake you up or kiss you goodbye. Somehow, leaving had become a chore for Druig, something like a daily routine. It still hurt to watch your figure fade away as the distance between you increased.
With fingers brushing through his hair, Druig found it even harder to leave your side. He tried to think of the people of his village, how they needed their leader and his protection, but he wasn't an idiot. They were well-trained to handle themselves. Currently, the universe was pointing in the direction of you, and who was he to disobey?
Oh, right. He thought to himself.
"My love," he whispered into your temple, hoping it would pass through your skull and to your brain. Maybe then you'd be able to stop your affection and doting and he'd be able to leave. Even if he didn't want to.
And you were left wondering why. Why couldn't Druig stay? Was it so hard to stay by your side? Ikaris and Sersei had managed to love each other for centuries, and even if they had their troubles, that's all you asked for with Druig.
Your forehead touched his chest. "No. I can't." And you couldn't. There wasn't a single muscle or bone in your body that would let you let him go.
Druig felt the same and it only made it hurt more. It'd been two months since he'd stepped foot on the docks of New York, since he'd read that letter on your counter, since he'd lied in your bed for the first time in years. Druig was spoiling himself by staying with you for this long.
"I know you can," you could feel him turn cold and bitter again. "You've done it before."
"Don't make me do it again," you tried to sound strong but it was hard when he was tearing apart your soul. "I shouldn't have to be prepared for you to leave."
Druig looked away. You heart broke. "Why not? You'd think you'd be used to it by now." He clasped his hands in yours. Did he want you or not? He was making it impossible to tell.
You weren't sure what he'd said next, you'd stopped listening. But you were well-aware of his arms pushing yours away from him, of his lips leaving a delicate kiss on your lips that you didn't return. You were aware of the lack of his presence once he left your home and you could feel him drifting away.
a/n: i'm gonna start putting author's notes on the bottom here! well, i know it wasn't exactly heartbreaking but it's heart-wrenching. and there will be a part two soon!

My little Versailles | Druig × gn!reader
Masterlist - Requests are open!
When I tell you I SOBBED writing this I love this song sm. I'm honestly proud of how it came out.
Song inspo: Fourth Of July
Synopsis: After the events in Tenochitilan (the eternals growing apart), you decide to stand by Druig on his decisions, although it hurt you deep to leave your family, and things didn't work out exactly how you planned.
A/N: I changed the place where Druig went after leaving the eternals so the fic would make sense with the song lyrics! I know the whole point of Amazon is that is isolated and all but let's ignore this for a sec.
Warning: angst (as you may notice from now on, I do, in fact, enjoy a lot writing sad things), this one is smaller than I wished for, but it was very emocional for me to write because this song TEARS ME APART.
Word count: 1237

"Did you get enough love, my little dove
Why do you cry?
And I'm sorry I left, but it was for the best
Though it never felt right
My little Versailles."
📍Tenochitilan • 1521 d.C.
A heated argument between your colleagues happened before your eyes. You felt like your world was falling apart and you couldn't do anything about it. Why couldn't everyone stick together for god sakes?
'But she won't be Thena anymore' as you saw Makkari sign at the others.
"What if it happens again? She could've killed you. She could've killed all of us" Kingo says, with probably the most serious tone you ever saw him speak before.
"Please..." begged Thena "Please, I want to remember. I want to remember my life" you were standing by Druig's side. When you saw the pain in her eyes you couldn't hold your tears. When you leaned to hold his hand you felt him tense up once he heard Ajak's words.
"It's not important if you remember or not. Your spirit will remain. You'll always be Thena deep inside". He held your hand tightening the grip, as if he was giving you a silent message that he wasn't controling himself anymore. "Trust me" you heard Ajak whisper. With that. You saw your boyfriend's jaw close strongly. He was about to blow.
"Why should she trust you?" you heard the accent you love so much say. There was a hurt tone on his voice that you could tell he was trying to hide. You feel his hand leaving yours as he takes a step to the side, being now right at the top of the Pyramid stairs. "You're asking her to let you erase who she is." He completed with anger, but still holding up.
"Druig, I know you're upset"
"Upset?" Druig yells. His tone surprising everyone. He looks at Ajak. At that moment you could swear that if looks could kill. She wouldn't be standing there. "We've trusted you for seven thousand years and look where you've gotten us." Your eyes were blurred by the tears while he let out everything he held up for so long, you being the only one who knew every single one of these deep thoughts of his. "I've watched humans destroy eachother, when I could stop it all on a heartbeat. Do you know what that does to someone after centuries? Could our mission have been a mistake? Are we really helping this people build a better world, huh?"
Once he says that you take step to his side and putting a hand on his shoulder as you whisper to him "Dru...". His eyes softened as he looked at you and let out a "Sorry, but I have to do this, my love." He grips your hand back, giving it a gentle squeeze. A reminder that any of that anger he was holding had to do with you, whatsoever. Doing it he let go of you, but you didn't leave his side while he turned to the door right beside him and walked towards the stairs.
You hear his voice again. "We're just like the soldiers out there. Pawns to their leaders. Blinded by loyalty." He takes a pause to glance at you. You nod at him, not quite sure about what were you agreeing with, much less knowing what the hell he was going to do, but it's not like that mattered anyways. You'd follow him wherever.
"It ends now" he says while his eyes shine in a scary golden light. And watch as the soldiers leave their weapons and the desperate screams for help finally stop. You couldn't say you felt a certain relief by the sudden silence, allowing yourself to finally take a deep breath by hearing nothing but the sound of the fire.
On the side of your sight you could glance at Ikaris aiming to touch Druig's shoulder to make him stop what he was doing. You were quick on grabbing his forearm and pushing him to the wall by your side as fast as you could. Although you hated turn on your family like this. Druig was your everything. As much as you were everything to him.
Still with teary eyes you stare angrily at Ikaris while he turns his look at Druig's direction and spits out "let them go." before the mind controller could answer to it, you stared at Ikaris deep in the eyes "If you want to stop this. You're gonna have to kill me."
And with that. You both went your unknown way without the Eternals. Togheter.
You knew you were safe with him. And different from the rest of the team, you agreed with his thoughts about humans. But that didn't mean it didn't hurt you leaving your family like this, specially leaving Thena while she was struggling against the Mad Wy'ry and doing nothing about it. Still. You followed him.
"Well you do enough talk
My little halk, why do you cry?
Tell me what did you learn from the Tillamook burn?
Or the Fourth of July?
We're all gonna die"
📍Oregon Coast Range, 1933
"The Great Fire hadn’t destroyed the trees. It had merely killed them, leaving them standing as massive snags that, each summer, got drier and more flammable."
After the both of you left. You went to the Tillamook forest, a place that for some reason, Druig seemed to be found with. And you we're pretty much okay with it. Since you had him. Where you were living wasn't exactly a matter to you.
After centuries of building a life at this place. A misterious fire grew out of the trees. Taking everything you had in the blink of an eye. Not even you could stop it. It was too much.
Now, you both saw yourselves on a dead end. Again side by side. Watching as the fire took away long years of history. The scene seemed to be bringing back memories.
You sat besides your partner in complete silence, watching as the the loud fire took the place of the trees, that were long dried and nearly lifeless. Just standing in there. Waiting for the right moment to fall. You put your head on his shoulder, still silent.
You could hear Druig's light sobs while now touching him, and that made your heart break into a million pieces. The world was now like this, just as he was now, hopeless. While nations struggled with the Great Depression and he saw humans as they sunk themselves on a pile of crisis and death. The first world war had just happened. And specially considering the time you both lived, it was all pretty recent to you, too much new weapons, too much cruelty. All too much. You were now forced to see your beloved humans live the consequences of it. Of their own creations and ambition. And there was nothing you could do about it. Not anymore.
The nature was crumbling, falling apart. And now, just like many other spots around the globe it was happening to your home. The place both of you struggled to protect, were promises were made and dreams were built. It was all down on flames. Tillamook was burning.
"We'll start over" you said to him, wanting to sound as hopeful as you could, but not really sure if you made it. "Togheter" you saw him trying to smile to you as he nodded. You heard a quiet, yet so sweet "Yes, my love" come out of his lips. Making you smile. "Togheter".
At least you had each other.
And that would never change.
"Shall we look at the moon, my little loon
Why do you cry?
Make the most of your life, while it is rife
While it is light"
