Todays spell work
Three wishes spell
Tumblr media
Very simple, we’ll see how effective it is.
I have three wishes, something about my career, something about my love life and just to have a nice happy Christmas this year.
The red candle is christmas spice, I carved my wish to have a happy christmas in it and sprinkled pink salt in it for pure protection.
The purple candle is lavendar, I carved my love related wish into it and sprinkled cinnamon on it.
The orange candle is mango, I carved my career wish in it and sprinkled a bit of dried basil on there.
I drew out a triangle, wrote my wishes at each tip in a different colour pen (purple for christmas, pink for love and blue for career), and drew one of my personal use sigils in the center. I folded the paper to triangle shape, placed the candles to their corresponding tips and lit them.
May the full moon hear my prayer, may my intentions be carried through the rest of its cycle, may my wishes come true
Update: it worked!

🎨✨️Art Magic✨️🎨
Uses, Forms of it, and Why I Think Everyone Should Try it at Least Once.
Tumblr media
Foreword
Right before the COVID-19 pandemic hit, I had been trying and failing to rekindle my flame for magic work. No matter what I tried to do I just couldn't get back into my studies and I was reaching a point where I was convinced I lost my spark and was doomed to live an empty life. Then it all changed when a YouTube Channel challenged how I thought about everything: Molly Roberts. That's when I was opened to the possibility of art magic, and I'll now share my love of it with anyone willing to read on.
What Is Art Magic?
A means to utilize art for spellwork, raising magical energy, or for exploring your magical subconscious. It encapsulates multiple different types of art and is generally not confined by conventional expectation (unless that's what you prefer).
You can utilize art magic by. . .
Using traditional art methods
Digital art methods
Collages
Music composition
Jewelry making
Embroidery
And much more!
How do I know if Art Magic is Suitable for Me?
There isn't a specific thing that'll indicate this form of magic is perfect for you, however I have some anecdotes from my personal experience as both a witch, and a regular artist that form a sort of idea on what could denote this being perfect for you!
First off, craving freedom from personal restraints was a big factor that pushed me towards blending my craft with my passion for art. If you want to run from the monotony of life, if you feel trapped by the social construction of boxes, or if you simply want to challenge your own mental restraints... then this idea might resonate with you.
Challenging yourself with a new form of magic, similarly, can also be a good enough reason to try. I'm the type of person who loves to constantly learn new things and I unfortunately get bored really quickly if I can't get new source materials. Using Art Magic has proven a fun challenge for me that allows me to explore a lot more topics you can't just open a book to find.
For those that may not be able to safely perform a lot of traditional style spells, this form of magic provides a discreet way to practice witchcraft. Most people wouldn't really question someone if they picked up the hobby of making art, and even if they did there's plenty of reasonable excuses out there.
How you prefer your spells to manifest themselves can also affect if this journey is a good idea or not. I find that Art Magic is really good when it comes to subtle spellwork that is more longform (though depending on how you construct them you can definitely create a spell that's the opposite).
Catalog aspects of your magical journey. Imagine a grimoire filled with pages of drawings, each one telling a story of something you experienced or learned as a witch. This especially may be more beneficial for visual learners.
You could use it as a means of meditation, sometimes art can be calming and it can open the door to your mind (so-to-speak). Especially if you're like me and struggle with staying completely still while trying to clear your mind, this may be helpful for you.
Trying to better understand archetypes, deities, types of entities, or even your own self can also be a big part of this. I've used art magic as a way to embody the "energy" of something before so I could better understand it. Especially when you're trying to seek knowledge that isn't often written on, it can provide a great way to explore more.
How Can I perform an Art Spell?
I have a step-by-step process that can give you some insight on how you may approach it:
1) Think of the intention you want. I like to close my eyes and meditate on it for about a minute then I write down if my mind wandered to any specific imagery or ideas.
2) Think of visual symbolism and colors that can help you capture the mood you want. Perhaps you need a warm color palette to invoke positive feelings, or maybe there are specific objects or animals you can include on the composition that represent something.
3) If you feel it fits your composition, you can include sigils, symbols of significance, and include shapes that have certain associations. It doesn't even have to be obvious either. You can use a circular composition to convey something endless for example, or a triangular composition to show priority over something.
4) In general follow what your heart tells you. This is a little cliche, but ultimately follow what seems best to you. Art isn't about boxing yourself in and my guidelines are just general ideas for anyone who's lost!
Why do I think that everyone should try it at least once?
From my experiences as a witch, I find that a lot of paths to be followed are quite rigid. By no means am I implying that a rigid structure is bad-- it creates a foundation from which we can work upon. I myself am exploring rigid, 'traditional' (for lack of a better term) ways of working magic. Art magic pushes you out of your comfort zone in a safe way. It makes you consider how you associate things. It makes you create new sigils and makes you research new symbols you previously wouldn't have used.
So next time you're lost on a spell, or you've lost your way in your Craft and you don't know what to do, think about maybe giving Art Magic a try. I hope my guide was a helpful starting point for anyone interested in the topic!

January Week 1
Welcome welcome to the 2024 Grimoire Challenge! Time to really get started everyone! This week will have a lot of stuff all jammed in. So buckle up, grab your grimoire and your supplies, and let’s get to work!
Monday
Name your book - this may seem silly and you definitely don’t need to name your book. Not properly at least. Other than “my grimoire” or “book of shadows” or what have you, which is totally fine. But some of us might feel the need to give it a proper title. “The Basil Grimoire” or “Hazel’s Handwritten Workings” something, anything, that ties the book to you and your craft. Make a title page! If you feel so inclined. If not, that’s fine too.
Definitions (New Page) - ritual and spell. Let’s define a few things. Make a page specifically for definitions, that we’ll add to through the challenge. Let’s start with a couple simple definitions. Define spell. And define ritual. Within the confines of magic, witchcraft and your practice. What is a spell? What is a ritual? What are the differences?
Study (herb) - Pick another herb from that list we made, and dig into the details. Make a page for it on its own, or add its info to another page! Whatever works for your craft. The questions to ask for these study prompts are going to continue to remain the same. Where did it come from, where does it grow, how does it grow, what are its mundane and practical uses. What are the myths and legends and stories surrounding the herb? What are its magical properties and why/ how do you think the other information you've learned about it have influenced its magical associations?
Tuesday
Outline/ index (New Page!) - it helped me a great deal to have an index or outline to my grimoire. I started this as a file on my computer as my grimoire grew and changed I could more easily manage it and rearrange it as I saw fit. Then eventually I could make it into a handwritten copy.
Study (gem) - Like our herb prompt, the gem prompts are going to always use the same outline and questions. Where does the gem come from? What is it used for in a practical and mundane sense? What are its physical properties? What are any myths, legends or stories? Where and how does it form? How does all of that relate to its magical correspondences and what does the herb mean to and for you in your craft?
Spellwriting 101 (New Page!) - make a new page dedicated to spellwriting. This is going to be one of those prompts that is focused on you and your craft. How do you write spells? How do you set them up? What components do you use? What is the format? How is it done? What does it require? From materials to timing and circumstances? Write it all out in your lab notebook. Make it a work in progress. Not all spells are going to work out the same or function the same as you perform them, but having a general layout and method helps to focus your practice.
Wednesday
Common tools - What are the common tools in your craft? That is, you don't need to have a list of every single tool ever used in witchcraft, just the tools that you use in yours. Both regularly and less regularly. What are they used for specifically? What purposes do they serve in the magical and practical sense? Are they ceremonial and symbolic or do they serve an actual physical purpose? (i.e. a wand used to direct energy serves many purposes, while an incense burner could literally just be that, an incense burner)
Year outline/ calendar - not everyone celebrates the same days, holidays or even the same holidays the same way. What are the special occasions and days in your calendar? Mark them and when the proper season/ holiday comes around, we can make pages dedicated to those days. This week this will simply be a list of these days, while later we will actually make pages for them individually. Think of it like the Wheel of the Year, Yule to Midsummer and so on. What days are important to you and your practice? Are they actual holidays? Or simply days of power like the full moon? Or is it simply days that are significant for other reasons, like the anniversary of the day you began practicing witchcraft?
Practical - tool usage - practice using your tools. For example if you use a wand. Practice using it to direct energies or whatever it is you utilize it for.
Thursday
Altar design/ work space (New Page!) - make a page dedicated to your altar and its setup. Why are things where they are? The reasoning can be simple as “that’s where it fits” or you can give it a more meaningful reason. Candles in front of or behind something to represent some purpose. Do you have items that represent the elements? Deities? Different sources of power or directionality? Different colors for different meanings? Why is your altar the way it is?
Practical - cleansing space - practice cleansing your space and tools. This is of course a physical and 'energetic' cleansing. Tidy it up, redecorate your space, clean the tools if they have dust or ash or anything on them. Sometimes it is good to have a clean start.
Friday
Personal practices - this is just a thought provoking prompt tied in with the Journal prompt below. What are some of your personal practices that you've brought into your witchcraft? Anything from little habits from your every day life to things brought from religion or family traditions. No matter how hard we try, we carry within us echoes of things not related to our practices into it. And that is totally okay. Recognizing them, acknowledging them, and truly incorporating them can be a huge step toward understanding ourselves, our beliefs and our practices all around.
Journal/ introspective/ meditations - Think about the above and write any of it down that you come to terms with. Self understanding is important in and outside of witchcraft.
Thank you all and I hope this week's prompts aren't too overwhelming! Stay tuned next week for the next set of prompts!

Aleister Crowley Quotes
A selection of my favorite quotes by Aleister Crowley.
Tumblr media
✡"Ordinary morality is for ordinary people."
✡"The way to mastery is to break all the rules, but you have to know them perfectly before you do this; otherwise you are not in a position to transcend them."
✡"The whole and sole object of all true Magickal and Mystical training is to become free from every kind of limitation."
✡"If you are 'walking in darkness', do not try to make the sun rise by self sacrifice, but wait in confidence for the dawn, and enjoy the pleasures of the night meanwhile."
✡"It is a thousand times better to make every kind of mistake than to slide into the habit of hesitation, of uncertainty, of indecision."
✡"You can only accomplish your object in life by complete disregard of the opinions of other people."
✡"Remember that the Ego is not really the centre and crown of the individual; indeed the whole trouble arises from its false claim to be so."
✡"The joy of life consists in the exercise of one's energies, continual change, the enjoyment of every new experience. To stop means simply to die. The eternal mistake of mankind is to set up an attainable ideal."
✡"The soul is beyond male and female as it is beyond Life and Death."
✡"Magick is the science and art of causing change to occur in conformity with Will."
✡"Balance every thought with its opposition. Because the marriage of them is the destruction of illusion."
✡"Modern morality and manners suppress all natural instincts, keep people ignorant of the facts of nature, and make them fighting drunk on bogey tales."
✡"The key of joy is disobedience."
✡"It is necessary that we stop, once and for all, this ignorant meddling with other people's business. Each individual must be left free to follow his own path."
✡"Astrology has no more useful function than this, to discover the inmost nature of a man and to bring ot out into consciousness, that he may fulfill it according to the Law of Light."
✡"The Universe is Change: every change is the effect of an Act of Love; all acts of love contain pure joy. Die daily! Death is the apex of one curve of the Snake Life: behold all the opposites as necessary compliments and rejoice."
✡"I do not want to father a flock, to be the fetish of fools and fanatics, or the founder of a faith whose followers are content to echo my opinions. I want each man to cut his own way through the jungle."
✡"I slept with faith and found a corpse in my arms on awakening; I drank and danced all night with doubt and found her a virgin in the morning."
✡"There is no law beyond Do What Thou Wilt."
✡"Karma does not act in this it-for-tat way. An eye for an eye is a savage justice, and the idea of justice in our human sense is quite foreign to the constitution of the Universe. Karma is the law of cause and effect. There is no proportion to its operations. Once an accident occurs it is impossible to say what may happen; and the Universe is a stupendous accident."
✡"Science is always discovering odd scraps of Magickal wisdom and making a tremendous fuss about its cleverness."
✡"One may go mad if one took the Bible seriously; but to take it seriously one must already be mad."
✡"The sin which is unpardonable is knowingly and wilfully to reject truth, to fear knowledge lest that knowledge pander not to thy prejudices."
✡"Paganism is wholesome because it faces the facts of life..."
✡"To read a newspaper is to refrain from reading something worthwhile... The first discipline of education must therefore be to refuse resolutely to feed the mind with canned chatter."
✡"I was not content to believe in a personal devil and serve him, in the ordinary sense of the word. I wanted to get hold of him personally and become his chief of staff."
✡"Dreams are imperfections of sleep; even so is consciousness the imperfection of waking.
Dreams are impurities in the circulation of the blood; even so it's consciousness a disorder of life.
Dreams are without proportion, without good sense, without truth; so also is consciousness.
Awake from dream, the truth is known: awake from waking. The truth is: The Unknown. "
✡"I cling unto the burning Æthyr like Lucifer that fell through the Abyss, and by the fury of his flight kindled the air.
And I am Belial, for having seen the Rose upon thy breast, I have denied God.
And I am Satan! I am Satan! I am cast out upon a burning crag! And the sea boils about the desolation thereof. And already the vultures gather, and feast upon my flesh."
✡" To Hell with sentimental altruism, with false modesty, with all those most insidious friends, the sense of guilt, of shame- in a word, the 'inferiority complex'."
✡"Knowledge is really confined to experience."
✡"Sex is the sacred song of the soul; sex is the sanctuary of self."
✡"A single ego is an absurdly narrow vantage point from which to view the world."
✡"All souls eternally exist, each individual, ultimate... That shall end never that began. All things endure because they are. Do what thou wilt, for every man, every woman is a star. A star is an individual identity; it radiates energy, it goes, it is a point of view. Its object is to become whole by establishing relations with other stars. Each such relation is an event:it is an act of Love under Will."
✡"Magick is the art of life itself."
✡"A Man who is doing his True Will has the inertia of the Universe to assist him."
✡"The first condition of success in magick is purity of purpose."
✡"Do not imagine that art or anything else is other than high magic! - is a system of holy hieroglyph. The artist, the initiate, thus frames his mysteries. The rest of the world scoff, or seek to understand, or pretend to understand; some few obtain the truth."
✡" Keep on acquiring a taste for what is naturally repugnant; this is an unfailing source of pleasure."
✡" Chaos is Peace… Blackness, blackness intolerable, before the beginning of the light. This is the first verse of Genesis. Holy art thou, Chaos, Chaos, Eternity, all contradictions in terms!"
✡"Light illuminates the path of humanity: it is our own fault if we go over the brink."
✡"I seem to remember asking myself if I was insane, and answering, ''Of couse I am - sanity is a compromise. Sanity is the thing that keeps one back."
✡"Belief is the enemy of knowledge."
✡"...the sole test of music is its power to exalt the soul."
✡"I became an entirely different animal. In fact, I've often thought that there isn't any "I" at all ; that we are simply the means of expression of something else; that when we think we are ourselves, we are simply the victims of a delusion."
✡"Shallow thinkers always seem to be obsessed by the stupidity that if anything is a shadow, dream, illusion, it ceases to exist."
✡"Slay anger, strangle sorrow, and drown
despair;
Then a joy shall be born which is beyond
Love or hope,
Endurable, incorruptible.
Come heaven, come hell!
Once the Balances are adjusted,
then shall the night pass away,
and desire and sorrow vanish
as a dream with the breath of morning."

If you had a spirit guide…
…what would it be like?
If a perfect multidimensional being were to interface with your consciousness in order to facilitate your awakening process, in what form would it appear to you?
Would it seem angelic or earthy or cosmic?
Would it be physical or just an intangible presence? Or perhaps a sound?
Would it be humanoid or animal or entirely alien?
Would it go by the name of a god(dess), spirit, or demon?
Would it have a sense of humor or be dry and direct?
Would it present a known gender or a yet to be discovered gender or a nonbinary gender or be entirely undescribed by gender?
How would it talk to you? As a beloved a child, a lover, a friend, a partner, a soldier, a monk, a sorcerer?
What sort of advice or empowerment might this incredibly powerful being bestow upon you in times of need?
A fun exercise. You’ll get the most out of it if you don’t take it too seriously.

Inspired Action and Manifesting
So often you'll hear people talk about inspired action and manifesting but no one ever really speaks about what inspired action is. Or when they do (at least from my observations) they refer to an action that feels less like inspired action and more like doing what you have done had you not been manifesting in the first place. So I just thought I'd list a few things that aren't typically considered inspired action.
Googling or searching the internet for the thing you want. For instance if you're manifesting a deal on something or trying to get something that is unusually hard to find.
Casting a spell. Because sometimes the spell is the greatest inspired action we can take.
Saying affirmations or mantras.
Going some place you wouldn't normally go but that you feel intuitively led to.
Doing shadow work.
Consciously and regularly taking time to visualize what you want.
Making and tweaking your vision board as needed.
As we know magick and manifestation require energy directed towards a specific goal or outcome, all of these things I named require just that. And I always say if you are working like crazy towards "manifesting" your goal, that it isn't manifestation, that's just hard work. Which if that's what you consider to be manifestation, there is nothing wrong with that. But I thought I'd just put seemingly unconventional methods of inspired action out there. But of course approach magick and manifestation as you will.

Giving Advice I Need to Hear
Hello there, magical masses! The following is advice that I wish I had been told more often when I began my journey. Most experienced and well-grounded practitioners do, I'm sure. If you find it useful, it is yours. Doubt is not the enemy of your faith. Fear is not the enemy of your hope. Sorrow is not the enemy of your joy. Every living person with a beating heart has felt them.
When I doubt, I question my belief... and if through belief I conquer doubt, my faith grows. When I am afraid, I search everywhere for hope; and if through hope I conquer fear, then I am no longer afraid. When I mourn or grieve, I remember joy, and my joy grows as I realize that my tears are shed for better days, and that better days will come again. All painful emotion is a crucible through which to strengthen your resolve. I will be better than this. I know I can do this now. I will be okay. It is by the darker times that we learn how to overcome trials. If your gods are not answering, they believe you can do this yourself. If your magic is faltering, it is because you must see it do so before you can move forward. If you waver in your path, do not abandon it. If it becomes blocked, consider what must be done to move forward. Evil and cunning, darkness and doubt, loss and hatred, are the tools of growth; we see them, solve them, and learn from them. Holding them forever will do you no good. Nor will running away blindly.
