It was always the same for Vanté.

Just when he finally had solid plans, someone would run off, get themselves killed, then we was expected to revive them, the only thanks he got being lying unconscious for two years for everyone else but him to be happy with themselves.

It was torture higher than a physical level. It was torture that made him feel like he was repeating everything. Every day, every month, every year.

All he was, at this point, was a puppet. A tool. And he knew they always meant well, they just wanted their loved ones back and he had no reason to be selfish, but he was just so.. sick, and tired.

Having to do this repeatedly took so much out of him. He was at the peak of his music career and he was dragged back down to revive another reckless idiot.

He just wanted to be appreciated for who he was, for his feats and his highs, for how much work and effort and care he’d put into trying to live some semblance of a normal life.

But he was just a tool, or an attraction. He would never be valued as human, even if it wasn’t intentional. Because he was different. No matter how normal he tried to be, no matter how much he tweaked and adjusted his appearance, he’d never be taken at surface value as human. Even if the person didn’t mean to, it was subconscious. He’d never be seen as human, because he wasn’t human.

He was snapped out of his thoughts from a call from Maddie. She hadn’t called since Rayan went missing, so he had no doubt it was for the exact thing he was just thinking about how much he hated. He’d have to go revive another person.

He sighed. Maybe another rampage would do him some good. That was his main thought as he picked up the phone and answered. Maybe then, people would show him the respect he’d been working so hard to get.

Zuriel hissed in pain as Vanté gently dabbed at a burn wound on its arm, whining and kicking its feet uncomfortably. Madison had gone to get more bandages and medical equipment, meaning Vanté was left to take care of and comfort Zuriel, and also find out why the fuck there's an angel in his house who is now sleeping in his bedroom.

"Who's the angel, Zuriel?" He asked gently again, pausing in what he was doing.

"I— I don't know, okay?! I don't know 'is name, I just.."

"You just?"

"It's hard to explain."

"That's okay," The demon smiled. "We've got all day, kiddo. Just tell me what happened."

Zuriel just remained silent. It was seemingly thinking, spare hand fidgeting anxiously. Eventually, it spoke up again. "Don't get mad at me, but... I went back into Hell, and— and back to Kore's."

Vanté's gentle grip on Zuriel's hand tightened by a fraction, eyebrows furrowing. "...Did he hurt you?"

"No, he didn't. He's probably dead now."

"...What do you mean by that, Zuriel?"

"...It— Y'know, uhm, how the angel guy has a halo? I used that to set his house on fire."

A small smile graced the demon's features, gently prompting it to go on.

"..Yeah, uh— We got out, mostly unscathed—" It gestured with its third eye to its burns. It didn't mention Aarin's broken leg. "And then, boom, back up here."

"Mmh, I see.." Vanté sighed, finally looking up at the fallen angel, their gazes meeting. "You know you shouldn't have gone there without telling me, kid. What if you got hurt?"

"Well, I didn't— well I did actually— y'know what I mean. 'M sorry, dad."

The demon sighed with a smile. "It's okay."

Zuriel suddenly flinched as the door opened, and Maddie walked in cheerily. "Mumma's hoommee!" She grinned, glancing at Zuriel and chuckling nervously at its surprised expression. "Sorry, hun."

okay so like. the monochrome mentality by riproducer. it's such a good song and I associate it with Forsaken Souls SO MUCH cuz it's literally the gist of the lore. I'll explain.

okay so. we've got what I assume is vflower's part in the song. the whole "gather round for all to see the hideous atrocious committed by this individual" — "let's put them right where they belong, this law defying individual" — "and once they are exposed we will annihilate them" — "to those of you they have infected, I'm calling out a roster of accumulating unsavoury sins" — "come on, get it over with! toss the poison down the hatch! their decomposed integrity with a rotten soul to match" — "I think that I can testify, we'd rather have them dead." deeefffinetly give The Survivors. I mean. they're literally a bunch of people who survived rayan when he was on a bloody murder spree lmao. especially Madir, Foster, Esrana and Amaryliss (as like Es and Zayn, I assume Ama hadn't interacted with Rayan prior to her joining TS, so I assume she'd be holding a grudge against Rayan for hurting Fletch?) because they all hate Rayan the most. they literally created TS to make him suffer for what he did. they literally see Rayan as Cora, even though he's trying to be better and he's nothing like Cora anymore. I dunno if I explained it well but the lyrics I chose definitely remind me of most of TS (excluding Ezra, Zayn and also kinda Ivy since xir's sorta neutral about Rayan)

and then there's what (I think) is the part sung by gumi!! lines such as "hey, tell me what they've done to you. this unsuspecting individual" — "to those of you this has affected, I'm calling out the monster that initiated this needless hatred" — "come on, just get over it, try to give them one more chance" remind me of Maddie and Vee, and basically anyone else who supports / has supported Rayan and was/is on his side! since Rayan had already served his time in prison, they probably believe The Survivors' actions are unnecessary, especially since it's been going on for so long. and then the whole "try to give them one more chance" is because like- Rayan's trying to improve, he's been trying to become a better person for a long, long time and he's doing the best he can. but, The Survivors are ignoring that.

another thing I'd like to note is the whole stanza after that:

this is definitely Ezra. he's conflicted: they're on Rayan's side, but then again, Rayan killed his older brother, who was practically the most important figure in his life.

AND THEN!!!! and then the majority of maika's part:

THIS IS RAYAN!! he's sick of the torture, the torment, the constant pain from his captors and he's sick of people fighting over him when he's immortal and can just deal with it until The Survivors die, and he's practically pleading TS to finish making him suffer because he's just bored of it.

I dunno if I explained this well but I hope the lyrics I chose conveyed it better!!

Halloween party shenanigans

Pairings: Early 2000s!Tommy Lee x Fem!reader

Warnings: drinking, drunk reader and her shenanigans,Tommy punches a guy for hitting on you cause I think it’s hot, age gap, reader has an Elvis obsession because yes.

Summary: you go to a Halloween party with your boyfriend

You’re dressed as none other than Priscilla Presley this year because your obsession with Elvis is ever growing and your love for his wife was growing too. You love her hair especially. So you have a black wig with the giant beehive. You’re wearing a shorter version of her wedding dress with a veil on top of your head. Her iconic makeup adorning your face.

You walked down the tile stairs to the foyer where your boyfriend was waiting. He was dressed as spiderman, ever the kid at heart. Especially after the new Spider-Man movie with Tobey Maguire came out.

The drummer heard your heels clacking and looked up to see you walking gracefully down the stairs. “Holy fuck, babe. You look beautiful.” Tommy had nothing but love and adoration in his eyes.

You giggled, “Thank you. You don’t look to bad yourself.”

“Yeah well, I definitely don’t look as sexy as you holy shit.” He held his arms open for you and you walked into them after reaching the floor, the two of you in an embrace.

The moment was interrupted by his cellphone buzzing. “Ugh, it’s probably Nikki saying ‘where the fuck are you?’ He can’t stop being an asshole outside of work. So fucking glad I left motley.”

“Oh but you love him.” You gave him a teasing smile.

“Yeah, yeah. Let’s go before he personally shows up to our house.”

The two of you made it to the party which was being hosted at none other than Saul Hudson’s house or as most people know him, Slash.

You’re pretty good friends with him since you produced a couple of his songs. Yep, you’re a music producer and damn good one at that.

Making your way through the crowd you greeted the man himself, who was dressed as a vampire but still adorned his iconic top hat.

“Slash!” You cheered with open arms. The two of you had a brief hug because someone is a little territorial. You love him for that though.

“Y/n!” He exclaimed back with a wide smile before exchanging a brotherly handshake with Tommy. “You make a great Priscilla.” Slash commented.

“Thanks. See I wanted this one to go as Elvis but as soon as he saw Spider-Man he was dead set on his costume.” You pointed you thumb to the drummer.

“Hey, in my defense it was much easier to get a Spider-Man costume than an Elvis costume.” You playfully rolled your eyes at that, “Whatever. Come on let’s go find everyone else.”

When the two of you spotted nikki who was comedically dressed as Michael Meyers, freaking you out just a little bit until he took the mask off when he realized it was making you feel uneasy.

“Sorry sweetheart, didn’t mean to scare you.” The bassist apologized and you smiled with a shake of your head. “It’s fine, I’m just a not a slasher person.”

The terror twins continued to have a conversation when you were distracted by one of your friends, Holly Madison. You quickly told Tommy you’d be right back as you rushed over to her.

She was dressed as tinker bell looking beautiful as always. “Holly!!” You exclaimed and her face lit up when she saw you. The two of you hugged tightly before letting go. “Oh my god you look beautiful.” The two of you said at the same time looking at each other’s outfits.

“Ok I’ve been waiting for you to show up so we can get drunk!” The blonde cheered and you laughed with a nod.

Four drinks later you were already drunk. Dancing on the counter top, Tommy watching you carefully to make sure you didn’t get hurt. When you got down with the help of some random guy who you didn’t know would cause you trouble in just a few moments, you tripped and almost fell when you were caught by him.

“Whoa, careful babe.” He chuckled and you immediately pulled his hand off of you. “Thanks for helping me.” You said.

He waved you off, “It was no problem. Hey, you’re that music producer. You produced for my band once.” You don’t even know this guy. “I did?”

“Yeah. Always thought you were pretty. You wanna go out someti-“ he was cut off by a punch being thrown at him, knocking him to the floor. Your boyfriend stood over him, anger in his eyes.

“Stay the fuck away from my woman. Got that?”

The man nodded and hissed in pain.

“Oh my god Tommy! You can’t totally do that!” You we’re slurring your words and he knew you were very drunk. “Come on, let’s get you home.” The brunette whispered.

“Noooo I wanna stay right here.” You made a show of stomping your foot on the ground with your arms crossed. Tommy wrapped an arm around your waist, “No, you’ve had enough partying tonight. Cmon baby.” And with a huff, you let him take you home.

When Maddie came to pick up Visceral’s for the week for the first time, as agreed for the sake of Vanté’s safety, she regretted not making a compromise.

Seeing this small child, frightened and covered in bruises and cuts and blood and - and so much blood.

God, how could he do this to a child?

“Shhh shh shh, it’s okay, god, I’m so sorry…” Maddie whispered as she held Raverie’s trembling frame close, pressing a kiss to his matted hair. It felt like a knife to the chest every time a particularly violent sob racked the boy’s body.

She hated that she could only do so much to protect him. And she hated that there was nothing she could do to stop Visceral, not without breaking their agreement.

“I’m so sorry, baby..” She whispered into his hair, even as his tears soaked her shirt. This was her worst fear, playing out right in front of her eyes. She felt so helpless. “I’m so so sorry, but there’s nothing I can do…”

“It- it hurts-“ Raverie gasped out, Maddie gently shushing him.

“I know, kiddo, I know. I’m so sorry. I’m so so sorry” She whispered, her own voice beginning to crack as hot tears stung her eyes. She couldn’t fucking believe this is what it had to come to.

She couldn’t do anything. But she knew someone who could.

Confusion, fear. The darkness of a car boot, a blanket of void, or the pressure of a cloth against a mouth, body flush against another as the former's eyes close, consciousness giving way to blissful slumber.

Eyes opening to an agonizing headache, rope bound around their wrists and ankles. The cold floor of the basement, cobwebs in each corner. Darkness in said corners, save for a flicking fluorescent light hanging like a man on a noose above.

The silhouette at the now open doorway, having no time to spare as pain and screams erupted. Walls coated with a vibrant shade of agony, an unconscious battered body on the floor, fading away as the door slid shut.

Consciousness. Pain, in every inch of one's body. Loneliness, silence that pierced through the air like a blade cutting into flesh. A shudder, realizing what situation this now is.

The seasons change. Years pass; or, what feels like years. The walls remain with dried and cracking blood on its surface. An array of weapons, metal blades glimmering in the single light. Slowly accumulating scars, healing over at record speed. A leg, lost to time, taken by one so familiar yet always a stranger. Few times compassion is shown, but what precious moment each one of them is. When rotting away in a cell, with nobody knowing where you are, every nice moment is savoured.

Then, a change. A burst of hope. No footsteps heard above the basement, a house in silence. The creaking of floorboards as bare feet stepped against it. Pale skin basking against sun rays barely blocked by thin grey clouds for the first time in years. Finally, a change.

Aching legs that ran for miles and miles, a cloudy mind and a dishevelled body. Alleyways and corner shops, shoplifted items held between trembling digits. Barely surviving, but surviving nonetheless.

Shuddering breaths billow out in the midst of winter, a trembling figure hiding in shadow. A helping hand in front of a hazy gaze, mindlessly accepting a concerned offer. The warmth of blankets on shaking limbs, a soft voice and soft hands and soft fabrics. The sun setting with a dog snoring soundly; a fleeting moment of peace, but a moment of peace to cherish.

Huddling in warm clothes, thankfully back on the streets after viewing the concerned strangers face reluctantly watching him go. Then, voices. Eerily familiar. Two figures side by side; one, a tall man, the other a strong woman, both expressions laced with worry. A shaky hiss as they passed, and yet.. their faces contorted to a look of relief.

Carried to a car in the arms of the sister, making idle chatter as if nothing wrong had happened. Shoving thoughts, memories of the nights spent sobbing and bleeding, the times after being pulled out of death simply because of a rare "blessing", to the back of a mind. Everything would be okay now.

Being nursed back to health. Warm blankets and familiar faces, hugs and kisses and warm meals. Finally gaining some sort of humanity back that had been wrenched away. A new leg, one of shining metal; finally able to stand. Finally free. Finally okay. Well, hopefully.
