911 8a
The good part is that the door remains wide open, with a second episode making clear how unfinished this situation is; the bad part is that the building is on fire, so by the time they think to use said door it might not matter.
Because 8a didn't wrap storylines started in s7, it just trashed them in favor of... what, Brad? It's not that Brad had more (time, story) than Tommy, it's that it could be said he had more than Bobby! Remember Bobby, whom we saw in the tail end of s7 being rather depressed (possibly suicidal), resign, rescue his wife from a fire, and die for a few minutes? we started s8 with an implication that the 118 hadn't talked to him (in months?), and I guess that was a sign of how the next episodes would go.
Now there's Buck spiraling again (making his best impression of a Hallmark movie heroine for some reason), Eddie leaves the 118 because of Chris again, Hen and Karen pretty much disappear until their kids are threatened once more I guess, Maddie will get kidnapped again, and who knows if they'll remember Chim exists.
I think we all expected some repetition from the weewoo show by now, suspension of disbelief too. Some rushing through storylines for sure. But I certainly didn't expect it to be so joyless.

shovel talk
“So,” Maddie says, eyes squinting as she looks Tommy over, wine glass cradled in one hand while the other rests on her hip.
They’re in the hallway of Bobby and Athena’s new place, and Tommy doesn’t think it’s a coincidence that she’s catching him in the bathroom hallway just as Tommy’s about to return to the party. Remembering another conversation at another party, he suddenly wishes he was holding a slice of cake; though he gets the feeling Maddie wouldn’t be easily deflected with it, Hen certainly wasn’t.
“Are you looking for the bathroom?” He asks instead, tossing a glance behind him. “It’s right over there, second on the left.”
He gives her his best grin; just because he knows this conversation is inevitable doesn’t mean he has to make it easy on her. Her eyebrows raise and Tommy thinks someone so small shouldn’t give him the same feeling as being dressed down by his sergeant once did. He hopes for Chim’s sake that he doesn’t find himself in the doghouse too often.
“So,” she says again, ignoring his directions to the bathroom. “I was just thinking that we haven’t really had a chance to properly meet.”
“Oh,” Tommy says, still suspicious about where this conversation is going. “I guess we haven’t.”
It’s true, it’s only been a couple months since he and Evan got together and between their differing schedules and the drama going on behind the scenes at the 118, there hadn’t been much time for larger get togethers. For the most part, Tommy and Evan have either spent their time just the two of them or hanging out with Eddie in an effort to keep his mind off of Christopher’s departure. Which, thank god that has since been resolved, for awhile there Eddie had been a bit of a basket case. There had been the wedding, of course, but even a normal wedding doesn’t leave time for the bride and groom to spend much time with individual guests, and there’s had been anything but normal.
“You know, Buck was really nervous when he told me about you,” she says, eyes glittering as she looks him over before taking a sip of her wine.
“Coming out to someone you care about will do that to a person,” Tommy says simply, eyebrow raised.
“Of course,” she says with a soft chuckle before continuing, “it made me realize that he’s never told me about any of his other relationships before.”
“Oh?”
“I mean, I knew they existed and I knew their names, but he never once talked about them, I barely even knew a thing about Ali. Even Taylor, she was his longest relationship and I barely heard a word about her. Then there’s Natalia who was barely a blip.” She pauses here and takes another sip from her wine before shifting her gaze back to Tommy. “Actually, there was one person I heard a lot about, even if I never got the chance to meet her.”
“Abby,” Tommy says, figuring with what he knows of Evan’s relationship history that she’s a safe bet.
“Mmhm,” she hums, nodding in agreement. “But since that first day he told me about you, you’re all he talks about now.”
Tommy feels warmth bloom in his chest at that admission, the thought of Evan feeling happy and secure enough in their - admittedly young - relationship to talk about it with others leaves him feeling pleased.
“It kind of reminds me of how he was with Abby, actually,” she continues, “before he’d accepted that she was gone I got to hear all about her, almost felt like I knew her.” There’s a bit of a wistful edge to her voice, though Tommy can tell it’s less about Abby and more about Evan's happiness. “He hasn’t been that way with anyone since, at not least until now. So I guess you could say that as his big sister I thought I'd better check to make sure that he’s not going to wake up one day and find you’ve suddenly discovered a burning desire to – I don’t know, Amelia Earhart your way around the world and leave him behind.”
Her voice grows firmer on that last bit as she pins Tommy with her gaze, eyebrow raised. Despite the teasing edge still present in her voice, Tommy can tell she’s serious, and truthfully, he can’t say he blames her. Eddie once told him over a shared six-pack that Evan has abandonment issues the size of the moon, and everything he’s learned about his past relationships - both romantic and familial - supports that. If Evan has avoided talking about past girlfriends, Tommy wonders if it had anything to do with a fear that they’d leave him behind too. He wonders what that says about the fact that he apparently talks about Tommy with those closest to him.
“Well, if it makes you feel any better, Amelia Earhart's disappearance is a pretty strong deterrent for that. Also— can’t do Muay Thai in the sky,” he says, unable to resist responding with his own personal brand of humour. Maddie doesn’t respond during the pause he takes to gather his thoughts, her face giving nothing away. “But... the truth is, that I can’t tell you the future, I don’t know what will happen tomorrow, let alone six months from now.” He pauses, suddenly wishing he had his own glass of wine to occupy his hands as he contemplates his next words. “What I can tell you is that I didn’t step into this lightly, and that I care about him a lot.” He takes a moment to let the truth of that sink in before adding, “and for what it’s worth, if you talked to any of my friends, I’m pretty sure they’d tell you the same thing, which is that I talk about Evan so much that they’re probably sick of hearing about him now.” It's true, Sal barely manages to repress the eyeroll whenever Evan's name comes up, and Angela and Jenkins have started a drinking game during Trivia Night based on how often Tommy says his name. It's made them terrible at trivia.
The beat of silence that passes between he and Maddie isn't exactly uncomfortable, but he does find himself holding his breath a little wondering if he passed. He has the idle thought that she’d be good at poker with how little she’s giving away with her facial expression. But then, a smile stretches over her face, and Tommy finds himself sighing in relief. This was different than his talk with Hen and Karen that had obviously been more teasing in nature. While Maddie may have done a good job in keeping her tone overall light, Tommy’s under no delusions that she wasn’t serious in sizing Tommy up to determine if he was fit to date her brother.
“Good,” she says simply, and then tilts her head slightly towards the kitchen. “I need a top-up, and you seem like you could use a glass, have a drink with me?”
“Absolutely,” Tommy agrees, his own grin stretching across his face.
He follows Maddie into the kitchen where she grabs a second glass for him before pulling out the wine she and Chim brought – a merlot – and pouring him a glass before topping off her own.
“So, you’re a pilot,” she says, a statement, not a question.
“I am.”
“Could be handy having a pilot in the family,” she comments, eyes twinkling, “Chim said you flew Eddie to Vegas.”
It's said nonchalantly, with a hint of expectation but before he can respond, Evan’s rounding the corner, clearly having heard at least part of their conversation. “Oh no,” he groans, “you do not get to commandeer my pilot boyfriend so that you and Chim can have some private date weekend in Vegas.”
“I said no such thing,” Maddie claims, hands raised, shoulders shaking with suppressed laughter.
“But you thought it,” Evan says accusingly.
Tommy watches them, barely suppressing his own laughter as he grabs a potato-chip from a nearby bowl to munch on. He lets them go back and forth, trading verbal jabs in the way all siblings do before he takes his moment to jump in.
“I’d be happy to fly your sister to Vegas,” Tommy says, grinning at Evan’s indignant look and Maddie’s triumphant one.
“Thank you,” she says, voice overly sweet as she pats Tommy on the hand before picking up her glass. She starts towards the door, presumably to rejoin the others, but he doesn’t miss it when she leans in and whispers to Evan, “he’s a keeper,” before smacking a kiss to his cheek as she heads out the door. Evan’s face softens at Maddie’s approval, and Tommy’s does too.
Evan joins him at the table, cheeks pink as he swipes Tommy’s glass to steal a sip.
“You disappeared on me,” he says, looking up at Tommy. “How bad was it? She give you the third degree?”
“It wasn’t bad at all,” Tommy says honestly, “I like that you have people who care.”
“Hm,” is all he says, though Tommy can tell he’s at least a little pleased by it too. “Still, we need to have a talk about how you’re supposed to take my side in arguments with my sister,” he adds, semi-serious.
Laughing, Tommy stands from his seat and comes around the table, offering Evan his hand before pulling him back towards the door. “Evan, the only useful relationship advice my dad ever gave me was to ‘get in good with the family.’” He adds air-quotes and deepens his voice for effect. “Of course, he thought my relationships would look a lot different, but the advice is still solid,” he says, before adding, “besides, I like your sister, and flying Maddie and Chim to Vegas for a weekend would also mean flying you and I there.”
Evan perks up at that, “yeah?”
“Separate hotel rooms, of course,” Tommy adds, letting his smile take on a suggestive edge as they open the door to the balcony.
“Separate hotels,” Evan says, his own lascivious smile spreading across his face.
Whatever their faces are doing as they join the others must make it obvious what they’re both thinking about because the next thing he hears is Chim saying; “Mm, I don’t like that look, too reminiscent of Buck 1.0. Does anyone have a spray bottle? Gotta squirt him like an overgrown tomcat before he gets outta control.”
Tommy lets the subsequent laughter at Evan’s indignant squawk envelop him, somewhere in the background he hears Christopher question what Buck 1.0 means and Eddie insisting he doesn’t want to know. Tommy finds he’s enjoying himself, even if the laughter is at their expense. He wasn’t lying to Evan when he’d told him before that he’d been jealous of the family the 118 had become but for once, Tommy isn’t jealous. He doesn’t need to be, because this time he’s a part of it.

SO. i was able to figure out the general structure of the script JLH leaked.
[explanation under the cut]
Tumblr media
in order for all this to make sense, the first thing you need to know is that in north america all screenplays (scripts) are written in the same format
knowing this, we can deduce the general structure of the scene and even the length of some of the words
first we need to address the big question everyone's been asking:
are they talking about Bobby or Eddie?
screenplays are always typed in courier font, and in courier the capital letters B and E are identical at their left sides.
so while i enjoy people trying to figure out if the blurry letter in line 24 is a B or an E, the answer is it could honestly be either
Tumblr media
where we really need to look is line one. the screengrab is blurry so i've outlined the word "going" and circled the area we should pay attention to
Tumblr media
at first, the last letter of the prior word looks like an undistinguishable blob, but there is actually one key thing we can discern from it: the letter can't be y, it doesn't hang low enough
there is a chance that the word is not a name and is "he" which would not rule out Bobby or Eddie. however, that would mean the conversation goes on for at least 14 lines without mentioning "him" by name which is (heavily) frowned against in screenwriting. so chances are they're talking about Eddie
also, with what we know about the characters it's most likely Eddie. can you really see Bobby not talking to Buck because of... well, anything? and we already know that Eddie has a difficult time communicating. so i've decided to go with him for this script but haven't 100 per cent ruled Bobby out
moving on to the actual script itself, anything not highlighted in red is something i'm confident is either the exact wording or something similar. the red sections are the parts that i'm less confident in or know are incorrect somehow
Maddie's first dialogue block is the part i had the most trouble with. with context from the following conversation i figured that she probably asked something along the lines of when [Eddie] will be back at work. the main issue with this section is that the top line is actually six letters shorter than what i have written. this also means that the word that follows "going" has to be at least eight letters long. i tried messing around with the dialogue a bit but couldn't come up with something that would fit the appropriate letter count so for now i just wrote a line similar to what i think the actual line probably is
line six has to be either 12 or 13 spaces long and the first word has to be at least four letters long so i used "really soon" as a place holder, but i'm not completely confident in it
for line eight i initially had "Oh, that's good." but the line was one space short so i changed the "Oh" to "Hey" instead. i don't feel too poorly about this one but it still doesn't feel right to me. if the actual script says "Hey" i wouldn't be surprised if JLH changes it to something else or forgoes the exclamation completely
the final line is just a rough guess of what it could be. i'm not sure how formal the 911 writers are with action lines so i just took a random guess. some writers are extremely formal with action lines while others are more comedic with it (Neil Gaiman is a great example of this). i'm guessing the 911 writers are more the former but i honestly have no clue

Seven Sentence Sunday
Tagged by @tizniz
Eddie broke through the trees with a proud gait in his step as he made a beeline for Buck. The dead rabbit in his mouth swung with each passing strut and he stepped over Buck as the fireflies dispersed. Buck sneezed as the lingering magic fizzled in his nose and he rolled onto his front as Eddie circled around him.  Eddie huffed out a noise as he dropped the rabbit in front of Buck, his tongue lulling out as bursts of steam fell from his mouth, and Buck barely sniffed the rabbit before he ate the whole thing.  Eddie pranced around him, pleased with himself, and Buck heard Hen groan.  “You think they’ll finally—” Maddie shushed her.

Would this character from 9-1-1 would know the fnaf lore?
Athena: She’s heard bits of pieces from the children (& Buck) in her life but she just knows it’s about killer robots.
Bobby: Absolutely fucking not.
Buck: You know this man has seen every Game Theory and Markiplier playthrough. His AuDHD ass would eat that shit up. He infodumps a lot and shares theories with Chris. He also plays Chris all the books and then secretly reads them for himself too.
Chim: He’s played the games with the A-shift on the tv at the station. He doesn’t care about the lore. He fucking loves the VR games and seeing Bobby get absolutely jumpscared that one time after he convinced Bobby try on the VR headset.
Eddie: He saw the fnaf movie in theatres with Buck and Chris. He knows some of it and was shocked to find out his child was obsessed with it especially when a main part of the story is child murder?? (Also Buck infodumps to him while in bed together when new lore comes out but Eddie doesn’t really follow it well.)
Hen: She’s learned about it through Denny who is also obsessed with it. She knows some but not a lot, still more than Eddie somehow.
Maddie: Also absolutely fucking not.

you just made the scientific discovery of the century & you want to tell everyone & your kids are first on that list but you can't find them. you manage to get a hold of your daughter & she says everything is fine but her voice gets tight when you try to mention your work & she sucks in a breath & says she won't keep you from it any longer than she already has & doesn't say bye as she hangs up the phone. you have a sinking feeling in your gut & you really want to get back to what you were doing but. something's wrong. where are your kids. why was your daughter not surprised when you told her. why was she so quick to hang up on you. your husband has the same type of mind & that's probably why neither of you can ignore this odd turn of events & so you decide to track them down. the research can wait. after all, the spook got away somehow afterwards. it's not like you have anything to go through but data & recordings.
#i don't usually write like this#i just had to type out the thing that's been in my mindddd cuz fanfics take way too long to write#& PMVs take to long to drawww oouughhh#i think i'm getting sick cuz i'm up until dawn & i'm tired constantly but in a weird way like in a migraine kinda way#sure i'll tag this i guess#danny phantom#obsessed with the idea of Maddie & Jack vivisecting Phantom without knowing he's Danny#& there being a whole slowburn reveal & then they're horrified because their entire worldview just got changed in the worst way possible#i find a lot of current fics that use vivisection always make the reveal happen beforehand for some reason#when the original ye olde vivfics from 10+ years ago like PoT happened pre-reveal & that's why Maddie &/or Jack did it At All#because they didn't know it was their son. they didn't know Phantom was their boy#it's just odd to me that the Phandom has shifted towards Maddie & Jack being actively abusive instead of passively abusive/neglectful#like do not get me wrong. they aren't great parents. they're actually really bad parents#but they do genuinely love their kids & would change for them. because their abuse/neglect is passive. it's subconscious#people always view abuse as hitting your kids purposefully because you like it & shit like that & most of the time it's not#& because of that misunderstanding we have a lot of out of character Maddie & Jack in fics#they wouldn't hurt their son. so you have to make them not know or not believe it's him#let them show a little emotion about it too man c'mon

i wanted her to look at me;
(or the one where robin can't stop staring at nancy, who can't stop staring at steve and his stupid hair)
(or, a prequel to the rebel robin: surviving the upside down au)
It starts with five words that Robin’s surprised didn’t leave her own mouth. “You’re an idiot, Steve Harrington.” Robin’s not sure she can survive the rest of the semester like this. Watching Nancy Wheeler, grinning and giggling and batting her lashes at the douchebag that is Steve Harrington.

My Favorite School Spirits Scenes&Dialogue
[Feel free to use any of these as writing prompts]
CW: School Spirits Spoilers, Innapropriate Language, Mentions of Murder
---
(Maddie and Simon walk into the auto shop looking for evidence)
Simon: Talk about a perfect place to dump a body... He ever bring you here?
Maddie: .....
Simon: Oh jeez. This is where you guys hooked up?
Maddie: I'm not answering that.
Simon: Classy guy.. What, was the dumpster behind the Jack In The Box already taken?
Maddie: Oh, grow up. You tried to make a move on Celeste Molina at the bowling shoe return counter.
Simon: That was eighth grade!
Maddie: It was ninth! You just looked like an eighth grader.
---
Xavier: And you know what they say...
Maddie: What do they say?
Xavier: Bros before... strong, independent women with bright futures, it's a very popular phrase.
Maddie: You're stupid... you're lucky you're cute.
Xavier: What the Lord deny in brain, he deliver in beauty.
Maddie: And boy did he deny.
---
Maddie: Look, I can't really chat right now because I've got some holes in my memory to fill.
Wally: Hey, that's why I'm here, I can totally help you fill your holes.
---
Maddie: ...Excuse me?
Wally: Oh, uh, obviously I did not mean for it to come off that way.. it was more of a hypothetical "I can help you figure things out if you need it."
Maddie: Okay... I can handle it myself. And I don't need to take advice from someone who looks like they're headed to aerobics class.
Maddie: You were murdered by your guidance counselor?
Rhonda: Yep. Guided me straight to the light.
---
Rhonda: There's still people in this school that count on you. Dead people.
Maddie: Since when did you stop majoring in who-gives-a-fuck?
Rhonda: We all have to pitch in, pussytoes.
Maddie: I'm sorry, what did she just call me?
Charley: I.. I think it's probably a flower...?
Maddie: 'kay...
---
Simon: You hate scary movies, just own it.
Nicole: That's not true. I liked Scream.
Simon: That's scary satire, doesn't count.
Maddie: And you closed your eyes the second the movie started.
Nicole: No I didn't.
Maddie: You spent half the movie looking for that twizzler you dropped on the ground.
Simon: And you don't even like black licorice, that's Maddie's thing.
Nicole: Yeah, well, Maddie didn't invent black licorice.
---
Charley: The bigger disappointment was me thinking I would get to haunt all the assholes who tortured me while I was here. But uh, instead, I was haunted by all the jokes they made once I was gone.
Maddie: What do you mean?
Charley: I was a gay kid in the 90s who died because he was allergic to nuts.
Maddie: ...
Charley: Okay, that's where you're supposed to laugh.
---
Simon: Nicole, you were supposed to give me a ride this morning. To school? Remember?
Nicole: I had stuff to do. Sorry.
Simon: I figured, you were AWOL all weekend, didn't answer a single text.
Nicole: I had an application deadline, okay? So the video statement was due, my portfolio looks like it was slapped together by a third grader, so..
(A minute later, Simon opens up her binder and looks at her portfolio)
Simon: Hmm. FYI, you're a very impressive third grader. I mean, I'm impressed.
(He turns to a page that's full of half a dozen photographs of Maddie)
Simon: Uhh.. and a little concerned. Damn, she knew you took all these?
Nicole: I took a bunch of you too, you're just.. not photogenic..
Simon: Yeah.. but.. this is intense. I mean, it's cool, it's just a lot of maddiemaddiemaddiemaddiemaddiemaddie —
Nicole: — What are you trying to say?
Simon: ..Nothing. Hey. Breathe, stop doubting yourself, okay? If admission asks why you're obsessed, say you worshipped her. Tell 'em she taught you how to parallel park.
---
Maddie: Seriously? All we do is haunt the halls of the stupid school, and none of you have seen anything suspicious from Anderson?
Wally: Well, one time I saw Mr. Anderson misspell the word "Fundraiser" on a Boosters Club poster, and I – he forgot the D. I feel like that's pretty suspicious coming from an English teacher.
Charley: Wally.. I'm pretty sure that was a pun..? So I'm assuming he probably did that on purpose....
Rhonda: Sorry, sweets, we don't just stand around staring at the living all day.
Maddie: No.. you plan weekend fun. Like movie nights.
Mr. Martin: Well, we do what we can to break up the monotony, Maddie, that's all.
Charley: Well, if I may.. to be fair, watching the same five sports movies over and over again is kind of monotonous, Mr. Martin.
Wally: I thought you loved "Rudy".
Charley: No.
Wally: Wow. Just w– I can't even.
---
Rhonda: How are you not pissed right now!?
Wally: I am pissed, Rhonda, I'm just trying to make sense of this all, this is very new to me, I don't know how I feel —
Rhonda: Try not to lose it in front of your crush.
Wally: OK, YOU DONT HAVE TO BE MAD AT ME RHONDA -- I DIDNT DO ANYTHING, BE MAD AT HIM —
Rhonda: I am mad at him.
Wally: Okay, you said you wouldn't bring that up again —
---
Maddie: Have you seen my teacher Mr. Anderson?
Dawn: You mean like him with a murder weapon? Or your dead body?
Maddie: Yes!
Dawn: Nope! Though I am pretty easily distracted...
Maddie: Is it the.. bad acid?
Dawn: ....?
Maddie: Charley mentioned something about that..
Dawn: Well no, I've never taken drugs! I just meant from all the new ways you kids have had to connect... (starts talking about the internet)
Maddie: Okay.. well I've got to go talk to the bus crash kids.
Dawn: Oh, good luck. Those banjos are all bongo, if you know what I mean... You should let me come with! I speak bongo.
---
Nicole: I'm sorry, when did you become all Scooby Doo?
Claire: ...
Nicole: I mean, two months ago, you were wiping your feet on Maddie's face, now you're... what? Trading in your pom pom for a trench coat?
---
(Charley laying on the indoor pool bleachers with sunglasses over his glasses, smelling sunscreen)
Charley: Ah, I love this smell. Coconut, verbena.. you close your eyes, you could be anywhere. Miami.. Aruba...
Rhonda: Yeah, and then you open them, and there's a band-aid floating in the surf.
Charley: I miss a good sunburn.
Wally: I miss Debbie Gibson.
Rhonda: ...??
Wally: What? I thought we were talking about stuff that we miss.
---
(Emilio walks past Charley and makes him gay panic)
Rhonda: Dial it downnn.. just because you smell like an Almond Joy, doesn't mean he knows you're here.
Wally (to Maddie): That's Mr. Figueroa. Emilio. He was Charley's crush when they were still students here. He sponsors the.. L-G..T —
Rhonda: — B.
Wally: B-T-Q club.. and Charley never misses a meeting.
Charley: I only go for the refreshments.. and uh, you're one to talk. You hit the gym every day to impress some boneheads who only know you as a name on a scoreboard.
---
Charley: Okay, let's try hypnosis.
(Dawn randomly spawns in the back, sitting at the table eating the burrito)
Dawn: Oh, God no... Not that.
Wally: Hello, Dawn.. uhhh, how long — how long you been sitting there, girl?
Dawn: Since I smelled the burrito 😊
---
(The ghosts are gathered in a circle so they can begin the anti-seance as Dawn waves an old, burnt Brussels sprout around as a substitute for sage)
Dawn: Settle, settle, settle, settle. We're under Capricornus.
Rhonda: ...who?
Dawn: The stars. Close your eyes, look inward, right to the back of your skull. What are you seeing, Mads?
Maddie: Uh, not much, it's dark..
Dawn: Dark!
Rhonda: Maybe it's the back of her skull.
---
Xavier: I just -- I feel like I'm walking into a trap.
Maddie: Funny. I don't recall you being scared when you were hooking up in your backseat.
---
Rhonda: If I thought it would help me cross over, I would go out there and tackle someone.
Mr. Martin: Okay, that's the spirit.. I think.
---
Xavier: I wasn't tampering with anything, dad.
Sheriff Baxter: Man, how stupid do you think I am? What are we, runnin' neck and neck in the dumbass derby?
---
Wally: I wanna make sure she's okay!
Rhonda: Let's check the faculty lounge..
Charley: She didn't say she needed a nap.
Rhonda: Maybe she went to speak with Simon. Sorry.
Wally: Why are you sorry?
Rhonda: You wince every time you hear his name.
Wally: This is not me wincing, this is my happy face.
Rhonda: Ah, could have fooled me.
Wally: Look -- I know she's still trying to figure her stuff out, but I can wait. We're not even at halftime.
Rhonda: I don't know what that means.. but if that is your happy face, remind me to hide when you're really happy.
---
(Maddie and her mom arguing before Maddie's death)
Maddie: You wanna take everything that dad gave me? Here. Take this.
(Maddie rips her necklace off and hands it to her mom)
Maddie: You could pawn it, get 40 bucks from it. Buy yourself a fucking welcome mat.
---
Xavier: If I ask her about the phone, she's just gonna bail!
Simon: Stop being a fucking coward!
Xavier: A coward -- FUCK YOU SIMON.
---
Simon: SAYONARA, SHIT RIVER!! Northwestern won't know what hit 'em!!
(proceeds to bump into somebody walking through the hall as he says that)
Maddie: Slow your roll, we're not even in yet.
(Bell rings)
Mr. Anderson: You degenerates are late!
Nicole: I'm not even in your class..
Mr. Anderson: You're still late.. and degenerate.
---
Claire: What did you tell the police?
Mr. Anderson: I told them the truth. That I took that money to pay off my dad. Is that okay with you? Cool. Can I go?
Claire: Did you say anything about me!?
Mr. Anderson: Y'know what? I don't remember! 😛
---
Mr. Martin: It sounds like you're struggling. Write your obituary.
Maddie: Uh, no.
Mr. Martin: Everyone here has written one. It helps us to focus on the highlights of our lives, the sweet victories.
Maddie: I've gotten out of writing papers before because of cramps. I'm pretty sure death counts as a good excuse.
---
Simon: Happy?
Maddie: Yeah, I'm thrilled. My DNA is on a boiler room wall and my piece of shit boyfriend might have something to do with that. Does it get much happier!?
Simon: Oh, so now you come around? How many times did I tell you that dude was sketchy?
Maddie: This isn't about him keeping hand lotion in his glove compartment, Simon.
---
Simon: Bathrooms.. you're not gonna linger and wait there... right?
Maddie: ...
Simon: MADDIE
Maddie: Relax, I left before I saw anything.... But you should really wash your hands more.
Simon: Okay and now I'm hanging up. Byeeeee!

Seven Fic(s) Sunday
@mellaithwen had a moment of sheer insanity and decided that instead of doing seven sentences from one fic she'd do a sentence (or two) from seven different fics!?
(Amy, blink twice if this is a hostage situation.)
But I'm also unhinged so I thought hey why not, surely I have seven WIPs lying around. And sure enough I do! So here we are:
1) F&F AU:
“How’d you get up here so quickly?” an officer asks him when taking Buck’s statement. “How’d it take you so long to get here?” Buck fires back.
2) The Xedgin Fic That's Giving Me Fits:
“You probably won’t be able to save him,” Holga points out. “You’ll just be killing yourself, too.”
3) The Gang Plays D&D
When Chim shows up with a whole notebook of backstory relevant to the actual world Bobby’s constructed, they all get the very disconcerting sight of Bobby trying not to cry with joy. Athena mutters he hadn’t even looked so happy at their wedding.
4) Platonic Sugar Baby AU:
“Let me get this straight,” Maddie says. “This guy doesn’t treat you like a piece of meat and you’re… unhappy about it?”
5) Star Trek AU:
“Your girlfriend took a job on an archeological dig halfway across the known galaxy,” Hen points out. “Women flee you?” Ensign Panikkar looks both dismayed and weirdly impressed, which is depressing. “Routinely?”
6) Jingle Bells I'm in Hell and Nobody Cares (AKA the Mystery Pairing Fic You All Will Be Subjected To):
Here’s the thing, because—as previously stated—Jamie Winter is not jealous, or envious, or concerned, or anything else in regards to DI Ben Jones. It’s just that while he knows Barnaby might’ve forgotten, Sarah Barnaby is the reigning Midsomer Quiz Night Champion and one hundred percent did not forget, which means this can only be one thing: This is an ambush.
7) It's Only Six Months Until Halloween:
“What do you mean?” Buck asks, picking up the crumpled receipt and handing it back to Eddie. Eddie stares at Buck. In fact, everyone’s kinda staring at Buck.
And yes, Chim is the only one of the D&D group who shows up prepared with a plot-relevant character backstory. Which, as any DM will tell you, is plenty of good reason to burst into tears. XD

Ok so I'm working on a little fic thing (first one ever yippee!). Heads up I'm really bad at wrighting ESPECIALLY when it comes to complex characters like Shadow. Anyways I would love some feed back. Don't go expecting too much when you read it. It's supposed to be set after Sonic 3. I also don't have a name for it yet. Or a plan. I just started wrighting and was like "yep, this is ok, I'm totally gonna finish this" so I have no clue where it's going. I'll get there when I get there I guess. It follows the storyline of SA2 but also I haven't finished that game so I don't know much about it lol. I think I might just make this story all about Shadows life after what I imagine Sonic 3 to be. Just think of the story line of SA2 but he doesn’t fall and die. He does fall. Doesn’t die. Also imagine it being a bunch of 15 yr olds. Just typical Sonic movie stuff. Tom and Maddie thrown in there where you can. I really can’t explain how I imagine it. It can’t be translated into words lol.
It was dead silent in the house aside from the annoyingly loud tik…tik…tik coming from the clock. Shadow lays wide awake on the Wachowskis couch. Mr and Mrs Wachowski had insisted he stay with them, just until he could find some place to stay. He had tried to refuse, especially after all the trouble he’d caused trying to destroy the planet, and while they seemed a bit hesitant, they persisted and continued to insist he stay with them for a while. Shadow looks over to the clock on the wall, the time reading 3:45 am. Shadow never tends to get much sleep, plagued with foggy memories of the ARK. The image of his sister's pale body lying lifelessly in a pool of her own blood replaying every time he closed his eyes, probably the only thing he could remember in full detail unfortunately. He runs his ungloved hands down his face, letting out a small, quiet whine and trying not to think about it much. Trying not to think at all.
Tails and Sonic were upstairs in their shared room, Knuckles having been moved down to the basement for everyone’s sake, his footsteps being far too heavy to be walking around at 2:00 am. Sonic and Shadow didn't exactly get along well. They could tolerate each other at best and get it a full blown fist fight at worst. Shadow didn’t necessarily dislike Sonic, as much as he tried to pretend he did at least, but he definitely didn't like him. Totally. Shadow was soon pulled out of his thoughts by a loud creak from the steps, followed by a quiet mumble that he recognised as his rival's voice. Shadow peaked over the back of the couch, making eye contact with a very drowsy looking Sonic.
“Sorry, didn’t mean ta’ wake ya’..” Sonic slurs lowly, walking the rest of the way down the stairs towards the kitchen.
“You didn’t.” Shadow says simply, laying back down on his side and staring aimlessly at the turned off TV. It was silent for a while before Shadow heard a glass clacking against the counter and a sink turning on, presumably Sonic getting a drink. Shadow shifted a bit, trying to find a comfortable enough position to attempt sleeping.

writing several romances in one piece is actually really interesting because their dynamics are all so different yet so similar.
i am destined to become a god and you are no one. i love you more than anything and you push me away because you want me to be safe. everytime we manage to get close to each other we are torn apart. there's no way for us to be together but we still try. this is the best tragic love story i will ever write.
we can't be together and we can't be apart. i let you live and killed myself in turn. i will wait forever for you. i swore to never love anyone after you and i didn't. i rejected a god to wait for you. a red string of fate ties us together. we are star crossed lovers. this is the best tragic love story i will ever write.
you can't accept my sexuality and i'm ok with that. we will never go any further than friends because we're too scared to ruin what we have. we kiss and sleep together but you say we're not together and i accept that. the only way i can have you is while you're looking away from me. when you drink yourself to death I will mourn you so indescribably that I will be able to kill a god. i know that you know that i know. this is the best tragic love story i will ever write.
i'm in love with you the only way i know how to be. you pity me. i'm your enemy and you mine but all i can think about is loving you. i have you right where i want you but i still manage to lose you. you want to save me and i want to ruin you. my love is unrequited and impossible but i still yearn for you. in another life we could have been perfect. this is the best tragic love story i will ever write.

Maddie is a vet in a small town in Montana which means there's absolutely no way she doesn't service every farm and ranch within a two hour radius. Just imagine she brings Knuckles along to vaccinate/de-worm and preg check at a bison farm. She's arm deep in a bison when she looks over to see Knuckles out in the pasture, headbutting the 2000 lb bull... Just country vet shenanigans please

The Fool in her Wedding Gown; and
I am teaching myself to be free, please!
I am genuinely in awe at how tonally different the two stories you picked are, Gabby!
The Fool in Her Wedding Gown:
Vibes, just vibes, nothing but vibes. This is the demonic possession story I mentioned to you! We've got demonic possession and vampire hunting and lots of moody vibes. Bella Swan is the main character very weird to write a character with the same name as me because I'm chronically addicted to ruining defining characteristics. And man, did I ruin her.
And also because I listened to this version of Where Did You Sleep Last Night/In The Pines too many times. However, the story title comes from the Crane Wives album!
It's five years post Bella and Edward's wedding, and she returns to Forks, Washington for the first time, alone. The Forks Police Department has been dealing with a string of unusual deaths - all caused by sulfur poisoning.
an excerpt:
All rational thought has abandoned her, she only knows she does not want it to happen like this; this is not how she wants to become a vampire. Bella will not be like Rosalie Hale.
I am teaching myself how to be free:
A Rory-centric fic titled after Various Storms and Saints by Florence + The Machine!
Rory’s Wild moment takes decidedly more effort. And blood and sweat and tears and really gross camp meals. And not to mention bugs, can’t forget the bugs. All Rory wants is one moment of fucking clarity, is that too much to ask? Apparently so because all she has are blisters, chapped lips, a sunburn, and a cut that she’s starting to worry is infected.
Nine years post the Revival, Rory Gilmore takes another page out of her mother's book. Clarity doesn't come quite as easily to her.
"Of course we're all worried, Rory," Paris is saying. "You showered in the boys' shower for a month when you found a spider in the girls' room at Branford! Why would you decide to go camping?" "I don't know," Rory admits. "I think I'm having some kind of personality breakdown, is that a thing?" She sniffles pathetically. "I can smell myself!" "Yeah, you're singlehandedly diminishing the skunk population of California."
ask me about my WIPs!

Flowers of truth choking on my secrets

Tumblr part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Part 4 Part 6 (here)
Danny lies sometimes. Of course he does, which teenager doesn't lie occasionally? But lying becomes much more important after he dies, alone, in his parents’ lab, inside a Portal leading into a whole new world. He lies to his family and to his friends, to his classmates and teachers and everyone else he comes across. He lies to himself. Not because he wants to, but because he has to. Because being Phantom is too dangerous and it’s the only way to keep himself his loved ones safe.
Unfortunately, for ghosts lying has consequences. Deadly consequences.
Chapter 6: The truth is out
He slowly wakes up, which is a surprise even to him. Danny had been certain that he would die during that last attack. Die again . Because he has already died once, months ago. He didn’t just get ghost powers, he died and he came back . Maybe that is what has happened now. Maybe he died fully this time. That would explain why he feels fine when last he could remember, he was in torturous amounts of pain.
His chest is no longer burning and he can breathe properly for the first time in months, since that day he walked into the portal and died . The memory flashes through his mind and he almost wishes he could bury it again. It hurts to think about, makes the hand that pressed the button ache with phantom pain - though logically he knows that the hand shouldn’t feel any better or worse than the rest of him. He remembers now that his whole body was burnt to a crisp by the end. Only the ectoplasm immediately fusing with his destroyed body and merging his soul back together with it saved him. His heart races at the memory.
Wait … his heart races . He can feel his core buzzing, but if he had died fully this time, then his heart should have stopped for good.
Danny’s eyes fly open.
The first thing he notices is that he’s still in the same hospital room as before, except now it's night time. The second time he notices is that his parents and sister are all sleeping in different chairs around the room - Sam and Tucker are nowhere to be seen so they must have been kicked out of the hospital. The third thing he notices is the heart monitor, displaying that his heart is beating at a steady - though slightly slower than normal - rate.
“I’m alive”, he whispers to himself, starting in astonishment at his hands. His voice is hoarse and speaking hurts, but not nearly as much as it did before. It's more like a moderate cold than thorns in his throat. And his throat doesn't close up on itself when he tries to speak about death. The improvement is so minimal and yet it feels vast to him.
“I died and then I came back to half life and right as I was dying again, I finally admitted the truth to myself, and so I’m still half alive.”
All this time, he had been sick because he had been lying to himself . Though lying to his friends and family probably didn't help any. A laugh escapes his throat and then another. Soon he’s laughing so hard that he can’t breathe.
He sees the other people in the room startle awake and feels guilty about it, but can’t stop laughing. “Danny?” Jazz mumbles, looking at him with sleep addled eyes, deep purple bags beneath them. Her eyes widen when she takes in his awake form in the bed.
A second later, her arms close around his body, pulling him into a hug. He presses his face against her shoulder. It isn’t until the fabric grows wet that he realizes that he’s crying. “Shh, it’s okay. You’re okay.”
“I died”, he sobs and her arms spasm around him for a second before she hugs him even tighter.
When Jazz next speaks, she sounds heartbroken. “Yeah, you did.”
“I couldn't face the truth of it for so long that it almost killed me again. I really thought I would die for good this time.”
Jazz’s voice turns to steel. “You didn’t and you won’t. But I’m proud of you for facing the truth, no matter how hard it was.”
“I only did it thanks to you. If you hadn’t realized that I’ve been lying to myself and made me face the truth, I would have died. Thank you.”
Jazz leans back and cups his face in her hands. She strokes some tears away with her thumbs and looks very intently into his eyes. “There is no need to thank me, I would do anything to help you. Anything .”
There is a surprised sound coming from the corner with his parents and then in the next second, Jack runs across the room and pulls both Danny and Jazz into a hug. Within moments, Danny can feel tears soaking his hair. “You’re awake!”
His dad’s loud voice startles Maddie awake as well and a second later she is also sobbing on him. She presses a kiss against his forehead. “My baby boy! We nearly lost you for good, never do something like that again!”
“I’ll try not to”, Danny says as tears start dripping down his cheeks again. He clings to his parents and is happy to discover that he is once again strong enough to actually hug them back. “I’m sorry.”
“Don’t apologize, I can’t even imagine how hard all of this must have been for you. I’m just glad you’re alive … or half alive?” She asks, sounding very careful all of a sudden, as if she didn’t want to offend him or scare him. It only makes him cry harder and Maddie immediately pulls him closer.
“It … it was very hard. I didn't w-want to admit to myself that I had d-died. That’s why I didn’t tell you guys about being Phantom. S-some part of me knew that it would lead to me having to confront my death and I wasn’t r-ready. It was easier to just l-lie about everything, at least until it hurt me so much I almost died again.”
“We understand”, Maddie says and kisses his forehead again.
“But you know the truth now?” Jazz asks from where her face is pressed against his shoulder. He can feel some wetness there too but doesn't comment on it.
“Yeah, I know that I died in the portal and that it then brought it back. I know that I don't just have ghost powers but am a half ghost. Half alive, half dead.” For every word he speaks, he feels lighter and lighter. The last of the pressure in his chest disappears and his breathing gets easier. In fact, he’s pretty sure that his throat and lungs have completely healed up.
He pulls back from his family and stares down at his hands. He feels stronger than he’s ever done before. If he’s lied to himself ever since the accident first started then … how long did he have the parasite for? Since the very beginning? Has he been fighting while sick all this time? Just how powerful is he?
“I … I’m going to transform into Phantom now”, Danny says, half to warn his family and half to prepare himself. His family back away a few steps, but for the first time, he feels no fear about transforming when someone else might see him. His parents smile at him in encouragement and Jazz has so much pride in her eyes that he feels heat rise into his cheeks.
Danny pulls on his core and it buzzes with energy, almost more than he can comprehend. The transformation passes over him in a flash, faster than ever before. Gravity lets go of its grip on him without any struggle on his part and he floats up from the bed, weightless. A laugh bubbles from his throat. A throat that is completely healed. The pain he’s suffered for so long while in ghost form is just gone .
The excitement is too much and just has to do a loop to get some of the energy out. He laughs some more and is startled when another voice joins him. Danny looks over to see his family. Jazz is beaming, laughter spilling from her mouth. His mom has tears in her eyes, but she’s smiling fondly at him.
Jack cheers, “That's my boy!” Then he runs forward and sweeps Danny into a crushing hug. Danny hugs back, melting into his dad’s arms.
A strange sound starts up from the center of his chest, where his core lies. It's like a big cat is purring, a deep repetitive sound. For a moment he feels like he should be embarrassed by it, but then the rest of his family join the hug and he forgets all about it. He just basks in the love radiating from his family and the relief of all the pain being gone.
The truth is out and his family still love him. The truth is out and it didn’t destroy him, as he has feared for so long. Suddenly, the future looks bright and as Danny is nestled in the arms of his family, he feels ready to face it.

Note
so is there anything about vlad in canon that you actually like???
Yeah, I liked the love-motivated anti-hero direction they seemed to be taking him in season 1 to like mid-season 2, before the writers seemed to completely fucking forget where they had intended to take his character, and therefore shoved him into a generic super villain role that made zero sense for his character and motivation up until that point 🙃🙃🙃
I also will not be arguing about this with anyone; this is just how it comes across to me, personally. I'm not trying to start a debate, just stating how it feels to me.
